That was a pain in the butt to do to try and take two different imagine and kind of like mash them together and figure out like what's one, what's two, what's what's three. Next co host is going to be talking about the new 30th anniversary set that's coming out. I couldn't give two craps about it. I mean we had to hype for the 20th, we had to hype for the 25th. Now we have hype for the 30th. I mean we did what the 25th anniversary or well, celebrations set a couple weeks ago for the top 10 cards and they were dirt cheap. So yeah, that was five years later, right? So. Sure, okay, they're going to be hyped right now. Am I going to say wait five years to buy the cards? Probably not, but probably not. Don't, don't fall for fomo, especially after ridiculous resale prices that you're going to see. Just yeah, I would say wait, but then we're going to be talking about how Japan is going to require ID to prevent scalping when you purchase Pokemon product specifically from like Pokemon center, etc. Then we're going to look at the most iconic Sylveon cards and lastly our picks for Ex Deoxys. But first, top 10 silver tempest and the Trainer Gallery. So coming in at number one is the Lugia V alt art from the Silver tempest side at $485.87 for considerably less on the trainer gallery side. Number two is Rayquaza Vmax, the number 20 inset for 20109 followed by another trainer gallery Balazikin Vmax number 15 in set for a massive drop all the way down to $40.37. So right off the bat, Rayquaza Lugia way up there and then dirt dirt cheap. Number four is a Silver Tempest card is the Lugia Vstar number 202. Secret rare it is $38.50. Then we jump back over to the Trainer Galleries with Blaziken V number 14 in set for $31.30. And as I'm reading this I just realized I did not put the totals, so I'm just gonna have to talk on the screen. If you're watching the video version of this, if you're listening to it, do the math in your head. Yeah. Get calculator and listen. Yeah. So number six is. Did I do number five? Yeah, number five was blazing. Yeah, you did. Yeah. Okay. No, V, Max, you did. So you're on five. No, because number four is Lugia v Star. So five was Blaziken v. Six is Rayquaza v. Max D. Secret rare, number 29 in the trainer gallery, it is 28.71. And then that is it for Trainer Galleries. The rest is all just straight silver tempest. Number seven is unknown v. The altar for $27 80. 82 cents, followed by Reggie Draco v. Altar for $27. 74. Then we have Lugia Vstar number 211, the secret rare for $25.87. And finally, Alolan Vulpix V. Star. Really? Lowen Vulpix was a V Star. Might have been a V. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I don't know. As a Visa. Yeah, it's the. Yeah, it does. Is it? Yeah, I think I'm picturing him. I think I know exactly what it looks like. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's a Visa. Yeah. I was looking at that work from what I saved. Hello. And V Star secret rare at $23.88. So the total, the video version will be right up there. If you're listening to this again, figure it out. I'm sorry, but that's it for the top 10. Now my co host will take it away to discuss the ever inducing FOMO of the 30th set. I'm gonna say. Yeah, I honestly, I don't like it that much at all either. Personally, I'm kind of honestly disappointed in it a lot. I'm just trying to bring up that picture. I have a picture I sent in one of my messages. I want to look at it so I can like, line up my thoughts. So I'm gonna get that. That is right here. So what I. It's. I feel that it's really random. Like. Like a lot of the cards they picked are just super random. And for example, some of those are like, they have the first edition sneezel from what, Neogenesis or Revelations, which is just really freaking random. And then you have Erica's Jigglypuff another random ass card. So I'm trying to actually get the. The. I have a full picture of them. I'm trying to find that actually would help a lot because then I can have my thoughts better. Okay. And then. All right, so then you have a couple. The only hits hit hits that I think were really good to put into a anniversary set particularly are they did do another prime because if you remember, in the 25th anniversary they did a Don Fan Prime. Yeah, Don Fan prime, which was random as heck, but it was a reprint of an old prime. So I kind of find it cool that they put another prime. Like maybe they. You know, it's an older card type of card that's going to bring a lot of attention to these. The older Primes. That. And the tag team. The freaking tag team is what I want to talk about the most. Because that Pikachu Z, I mean, yeah, z is in one day it went from like $30 to 150. And then yesterday I checked again it was 1 99. And today is back down. I checked to 189. But it's just a basic GX tag team. So I find that insane. I like how they're adding. They added a tag team. I think they should have done it for the every of the other anniversaries before. I think like the Primes and the tag teams are pretty cool, but everything else, I mean, they have another freaking. What is it? It's Charizard, the base set one. But it's from. I think it's. It's not the Shadowless. Is it the Shadowless? I'm trying to. No, it's a regular Charizard. The. It's just the same print as. As the base set, but for the, for this anniversary, which I find insane because they're freaking overkilling it with Charizard. And then like some of the, like I said, the, the. The older cards were just random. They even have like a freaking. What do you call that card? A break card of Greninja. Oh yeah. Which is completely insane. And then they have a freaking first edition hollow Misty Trainer card. It's just, it's. It feels like it just jumps around all over the place. The only things I like about it, like I mentioned, are the tag team and the prime and then the new cards that we're getting in the set. Mind you aren't anything impressive at all because they were trying to be like, oh, make the Mew and Mewtwo look what they call it like a. Is it chrome or whatever the heck they call the shine to those cards. And the different, you know, colors. Alter alternate colors and you know, the different looking we haven't seen any, any like them, however. They're nothing special. And like, then even with the other basic cards that they added to the set, they just added like a few Pikachu's. Mind you. They said that supposedly I. I hear every pack, you know, you open has a Pikachu in it, no matter what. What the hell? Don't know. Don't know how true that is, but supposedly because they have three different Pikachu in the set that they put, you know, into it. New Arts. And then the few other cards that they have that are new, they have a Umbreon that's not hollow, a Sylveon that's not hollow. I mean, I'm sorry, yeah, no, they have a SPN and an Umbreon, non hollow. And then they have a random Sylveon Ex. They have a freaking werewolf lichen rock, a Drift Bloom, and then a random Lapras. Like all these Pokemon are just so, like, it's just so like they're trying to use some that they know are popular, like Umbreon, you know, Pikachu, obviously, Greninja, Charizard. And then trying to just. They're like trying to. I don't know, it's just so. I feel it's too random, but they're also trying too hard with reusing a lot of the same Pokemon and then with the new ones that they added, like the Drift Bloom and the Lycanroc. Oh, and the Zorua. Zorua. I always mispronounce it, but the, the. I think I said it right. But they, they just have random ass Pokemon. I feel, in the set. The only thing I like about this whole thing is, like I said, the prime and the tag team, I think they should be. I think they should be noticed more by the franchise, by the hobby, by collectors. But everything else in it is just not, in my whole honest opinion, not impressive at all. And my only problem. Sorry, I mean, my only problem is if they were to make more emphasis on the Primes and the, say, even tay teams, think of what that would do to the original primes and the original tag teams. Again, like, it would. I feel prices are already ridiculous. Yeah, I already skyrocketed them. Yeah. Like the freaking Pikachu z crumb, the GX. I got two of those. I bought them both at like 30 bucks. Yeah. And then one freaking day they went to 150. And then yesterday, like I said, they were almost 200 a piece for just a basic GX. So you're right. Yeah, I feel like the hype for even just the basics like this Pikachu Z Chrome could go insane. But I. But on a, like, personally on an art level and all that, I think they're beautiful cards. I think they're really cool. It's a cool concept. Yeah. So like, that's why I would want it to be shared. But at the same time, like you said. Yeah, there's a cost because it's going to skyrocket all the original ones, you know. Yeah. So it's like a kind of a. Yeah, it's kind of a lose, lose situation. Like. Yeah, like not a lot of people know about them. But now that this is the set, bring out the tag teams, for example. And then especially with the Gengar prime, like, mind you, I don't even have that prime yet and the prices are skyrocketing on it, which blows because I'm trying to get all the primes. Yeah. I wasn't even aware that they had a Gengar prime in this new set that they're coming out with. Yep. It's insane. Yeah. But you see what I mean. They went all the way from a DOM fan. They used a basic Don fan. And then the next set they do for the anniversary, they use a freaking fan favorite, Pokemon. So it's like they couldn't kind of like slowly, like, you know, like. Well, I mean, they're playing into their favorites. Right. Like, they know that Charizard is hyped. They know Pikachu is hyped. They know Gengar is hyped. So Pokemon company. Yeah. Sit there and go, oh, we hate scalpers, we hate this, we hate that. You know, we don't tolerate that kind of behavior, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But then they pull garbage like this where it's like, oh, hey guys, you know, 30th anniversary, let's pull out the biggest Pokemon that everybody love. Yeah. And. Oh, no. What do you mean people are scalping? Oh, that. That can't happen. That's. That's naughty. No, no, no. Yep. It's like, well, you freaking fed the fire. Like, don't sit there with a can of gasoline and go, oh, shit. Why is there a forest fire now? Yeah, exactly. As much as I love Pokemon and Pokemon company, I mean, it's a smart business move. They're creating hype, they're creating sales, they're doing this, they're doing that. But they don't realize that, let's be honest. At the end of the day, this is a card game. They're pieces of cardboard, shiny cardboard. And they're meant actually for children. Yeah. Not grown ass adults who actually have no job whatsoever. But classify selling things on ebay and scalping Walmart and Target and Costco as their, quote, unquote, full time job. Yeah. I have. I have some people I know that do that. And. Yeah. Yeah, it's like, it's not. It's not a job. Yeah. I mean, I. I went to my local Walmart a week ago and they actually had fully stocked Pokemon in their cabinet. And my first thought was, oh, there's actually Pokemon in there. And then I just kept walking because you know what? I. I don't give a. I really, I really don't give a. There is nothing that excites me about anything relatively new about Pokemon. Yeah, I will buy singles. That is it. Yeah. And if the single is overpriced and overhyped, I. I'll wait. Yeah, I don't give a crap. I did buy a Booster box in a ETB of pitch black. Just because I heard a rumor that the promo for the ETB was supposed to be Gengar. Yeah, it's Dusklops, I think. Or Dark Ry. No, sorry, it's Darkrai. So I'm a little bit pissed off with that because, I mean, there's obviously going to be a Gengar in that set. Yeah. And a Haunter and Ghastly. And it'd be nice if I could pull them, but I'm kind of like, I could have spent $500 better somewhere else. Yeah. You know, to spend $500 Canadian on an ETB in a booster box. Why? Stupid. Who the hell does that anymore? It's crazy. When I was at Walmart, there was a. A guy kind of gonna say new Canadian. Okay. He damn near sprinted to the card aisle, picked out six ETBs. Actually, all of the ETBs that were there. And keep in mind, I saw the prices. They were like $91 $94 somewhere around there. About $91 or $94 for the ETPs. So he picks out six of these things, takes out every ETB and leaves. Everything else gets followed back up to the front by the. By the employee who opened up the cabinet for him. Turns out he's an employee of Walmart himself, so he gets a discount on it. And, you know, pissed me off. Yeah. And the lady's like, oh, you know, why the heck are you buying so many? He's like, I just really like to open up the product. I'm like, you lying piece of. Like, you bought six ETBs with a discount so you can turn on and flip it back out on freaking ebay. I said, you're not even going to be out into your damn car before they're on ebay. It's like, dude, like, yeah, so the balls. I'm like, you. You work full time? Yeah. What's your problem, man? Like, I'm like, you work full time? Yeah. Okay. You work at Walmart. It's not the greatest job in the world. I mean, you're one step above somebody who serves my coffee in the morning when I go to my job. And yeah, I can say that. I worked in the fast food. My second job in my entire life was at McDonald's. My first job was 14 years old in a manufacturing plant. I ran a multi million dollar machine at 14 years old. Uh, you know, I did blue collar and then. Well, I've always been blue collar, but, you know, became a chef. I worked. Yeah. Many, many restaurants. I've ran million dollar Restaurants. And then I went right back into factory work because I hate customers. Yeah. I hate people. I've worked by myself and I am. I'm not happy. You know, people piss me off all the time, but it beats cooking. Yeah, but you know, I have my chef papers that are collecting dust and oh well, I don't care. But it's like, you know, you have a job, you have a discount, and you're gonna exploit that discount to sell product on ebay. Like that's a dick move. Yeah, it's ridiculous. But speaking of scalpers and this Pokemon company is going to be requiring id. Why does that matter? Who the hell knows? I think it's more so because of that incident in Japan where the Pokemon center employee was murdered. Oh, I don't think it's because of scalpers. I think they're using the. The op or the logistics of scalpers to make non scalpers happy and make scalpers worried. Even though what the hell are they going to do? I think they're requiring ID when you walk in or make a purchase simply so that they can ID the person quicker if there's a crime. That's what I'm thinking. Because again, it just kind of lines up with the whole situation in Japan and condolences to the employee, condolences to Pokemon company that like that. That young lady was just working. She was doing her 9 to 5 whatever. And to be brutally murdered over Pokemon, it's really. What the hell. Yeah, it's. It's horrendous. Disgraceful, honestly. Yeah, I heard rumors that it was like her ex boyfriend or something that had stalked her. She went to the place. The place didn't really do a whole lot. Apparently the justice system over there is just as damaged as in Canada and us. It sucks. At the end of the day, you can't turn back time. What happens happens. But we can try and prevent it in the future. And I think that's what Pokemon company is trying to do now is have ID systems. But they did announce that the effect will come into or the measures will take effect starting in Japan only in August. Res residents will be will need to present a document called the My Number card, which is essentially a photo ID. Beyond card purchases, fans will also need IDs to participate in events and tournaments. Hence why I think it's their way of keeping a check on attendance. Just for crime prevention, in a sense. Yeah. Because they're also struggling with the explosion of attendance numbers. The company says that it will not use or store any personal information. I'LL believe that when I see it. Information gets stored all the time. You're. Whether you. Whether you say you don't store it or you do store it, it is being stored some. Yep, exactly. Is it being sold to a third party? Maybe, maybe not. But it definitely is being stored somewhere. Yeah. The company explained that the move was being done as part of efforts to provide all customers with equal opportunities and ensure they enjoy our services safely and securely. So hence, they didn't outright say, oh, we're doing this because scalpers are jackasses. They're saying, hey, we're doing this. So then people get equal opportunities and ensure that they can enjoy our services. Services safely and securely. Key point, safely. Yeah. If you have to hand over your photo id, maybe you're less likely to commit a crime because now they have your photo. They have your photo id. You basically, you're walking around with red hands. I'm hoping they do that here. Well, that's the thing, right? So there is currently no announcement plans for to institute this similar requirement outside of Japan. The experiment will likely, though, influence future decisions the company makes about selling cards at large. They should. Yeah, they should, honestly. Yeah. The company has also cautioned Japanese citizens to consider applying for an ID in advance. Apparently, you don't even have to have this ID until Pokemon requires it, which is kind of weird. That must be nice. Yeah. It's a process, though, that can take up to a couple months to complete. Yeah. Although limited in location and scope, the requirements are still noteworthy. Official Pokemon center releases, which contains exclusive goodies and so on and so forth, are highly coveted by the fandom Elite Trainer. Boxes of new card sets are priced extraordinarily high on resale sites. These ETBs are not reprinted and they contain extra boost packs. Pokemon Centers are also some of the best ways fans can secure product. While retail retailers sell out moments after opening, queues on the official Pokemon center website can also last for hours. No, I have tried to stand in line in the virtual queue and I did that probably about a year ago and I thought, what the hell am I doing with my life? Screw this. Yeah. Yeah. We'll see what happens next, though. We are going to be looking at the most iconic Sylveon cards. So the first ever Sylvian card didn't come out until X and Y. The promo number four from the Sylveon Collection, ironically, which released on November 15, 2020, or, sorry, 2013. Less than a year later, Sylveon received another card in Furious Fists. Now, these first two cards are Very, very simple. They weren't meant to be anything super flashy. Just a couple cards that showed the brand new Fairy type Pokemon in all of its glory. While these cards are just regular rare and promo cards, they're still very nice to look at. But then we got full art in the generations. Radiant Collection so sylveon EX the RC32 is a adorable card that perfectly highlights the aesthetics of the Radiant Collection. It has a really cute Sylveon. Playing with an Eevee card is surprisingly hard to find since Radiant Collection was a really short printed set. It is a must have for any Sylveon collector though. And when you kind of look at it, it's. It reminds me of like stained glass window artwork. Yeah, there's a lot of color and poppy, but then the next one kind of seems like it's. I don't know, the artwork seems like it sat in the sun for too long. Because we have Gardevoir and Sylveon GX A on Broken Bonds. Ultra rare, the alt art Gardevar and Sylveon Ex from Unbroken Bonds is absolutely beautiful. Tag team cards have gotten more popular over the last few years and so it makes sense that the Sylveon Tag team card is the most expensive Sylveon card at the time of this writing. Especially since it's illustrated by the famous Atsu Atsuku Nashida, the graphic artist who credited the design Sylveon and Pikachu, among many other Pokemon. This card has two Fairy type Pokemon sitting together in a field. Not fighting or anything, just like that, just relaxing. It feels like the opposite of some of the other altar tag teams. They're just vibing. And honestly, it seems pretty cool. But again, it seems like the color has just kind of. It's like a pastel faded color. And I don't know, it would have been nice to have it a little more vibrant. In my opinion, the pressure to have a summer worth posting about is real. The only Pokemon card to feature a shiny Sylveon is the Shiny Bolt version of Sylveon gx. One of the biggest full art Shiny Pokemon out of Hidden Fates is a whopping blue and pink and white. It's, it's an absolute beautiful card. But then we got Evolving Skies. Oh dear Lord. We got Evolving Skies with two altar Sylveon cards. We have the alternate art Sylveon V shows. It's working at a pastry shop and trying to attract customers that buys trainers cupcakes. And then there's the alternate art Sylveon vmax, which is just phenomenal. It's a beautiful color. It has a whole bunch of other Pokemon surrounding the Dynamax Sylveon and playing with its ribbon feelers. The card is gorgeous with an amazing holo texture. And then speaking of the anniversary sets, we have Dark Sylveon V from the Sword and Shield promo cards from the 25th anniversary. So immediately after evolving skies, Pokemon celebrated its 25th anniversary celebration, saw a whole history of the game being revisited and Sylveon got to play a part in the Dark Sylveon V. Sylveon was first discovered years after Pokemon stopped printing the Dark Pokemon in sets. So celebrations gave us a chance to see Sylveon that was tainted by Team Rocket. Just feels weird seeing a fairy type Pokemon looking evil like that though. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, it's not. It. It's not meant to. No. And finally. Oh dear Lord. Sylveon Ex from Prismatic Evolutions the special illustration Rare finally, the Sylveon Ex from Prismatic is breathtaking. Like the other Evolutions from the Set. It has a stained glass style texture with how many Sirs are in Prismatic, along with how rare any special illustration rare is. This card is incredibly difficult to pull. Of all the Eeveelution special illustration rares in Prismatic, this is the second most expensive, mainly because of how popular the Pokemon Silvereon is. We aren't even looking at the fact that this card is also incredibly playable and has seen the top tables at multiple Pokemon regions since its release. Oh, but with that, what did you pick for Deoxys? I picked a Pokemon that's underrated again, because I figured why not? And I picked. I'm just going to get the picture. So I have him. Yeah. Areas I picked card number 52 of 107, Bagon or bygone. Or Bygone, however you pronounce it. It's just a regular, normal type. I say big on. It's a really cute picture. The. The point of reference is really. It looks like it's like going down a waterfall. Pretty much. It has. It's a. It's a colorless energy card only at 50 hp, so very, very low for a starter Pokemon. And then it has two moves which are funny. The double slap is to flip two coins, and this attack does 10 damage times the number of heads. So that only requires one water energy and then singe, which is if you flip a coin. If Heads, the defending Pokemon, is now burned. That requires one fire energy. And the funny thing is that both of these moves, one does a status and the other does an attack amount. They're both freaking flipping a stupid coin. Well, then you're gonna hate my pick. Oh, gosh. Because I picked Professor Cosmos Discovery. It's a nice standard supporter. However, flip a coin. If heads, you draw the bottom, you draw the bottom three cards of your deck. If tails, you draw the top two cards of your deck, and then you don't shuffle your deck at all. Oh, my gosh. So either way, you pull three or you pull two, regardless. And you don't have to shuffle your deck, apparently, because it doesn't state that you have to. That's crazy. Yeah, but like, it's. It's such a stupid artwork because he's sitting there kneeling on the ground, looking at a. I'm assuming some type of fossil, but there's a freaking Diglett just sitting behind him, watching him. Like, the hell you do, man. Like a. Like a creepy. Yeah, like. Oh, that's a fancy little rock there, buddy. Like. But yeah, it's like. It's such a, like, interesting, weird card because either way you draw either two or three cards. And actually I realized that the card was illustrated by Ken Sugimari, so go figure that it's got that kind of artwork style. He's been known for some interesting artworks over the years, but yeah, I, I, I saw that and I thought either way you kind of win. Like, I mean, yeah, I mean, bottom three, that's not bad. Top two, yeah. Okay. Still not bad considering if you can pull something that you really need, but the fact that you don't even have to shuffle your deck afterwards, it's kind of nice. Yeah. So it's really weird. You don't see that often. No. And then like just the artwork itself is like, oh, like, okay, he's staring at Fossil. Cool. Okay. But then why the hell is there a Diglett sitting beside or sitting behind him? Just like checking him out. Being a creep. Yeah, just being a little creep. Oh, man.
