If you thought the sports card market Goldin get any hotter, well, you are wrong. Because today we've got baseball cards, football cards and even hockey cards going up. We'll tell you which ones are the hottest now. Hello sports card investors and welcome to another top five cards from the Arena Club studio here inside Cards hq. What an exciting time of the year. We just had our first officially licensed new football product come out yesterday for the 2026 season. Topps flagship football. That's getting me in the mood for a little bit of football. We're not too far away now. I cannot wait. And guess what? There are some football cards that are going up right now in anticipation of the new season, but other sports as well, and we're about to get into that. And of course, today's top five is sponsored by Whatnot. Whatnot has awesome live auctions every day and night starting at just $1 for packs, boxes, breaks, singles and more. Alright, let's start the show by taking a look at the overall sports card market. With the market pulse by market movers and over the last seven days, the SCI 500 index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards is up another 2%. Over the last 30 days it is up over 7%. And since January 1st of this year it is up. Sit down for this, ladies and gentlemen, over 47%. The sports card market has never been more hot and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. But now let's talk about the cards that are going up and down the most. It is time for today's top five cards. Look, let's bring this back down a little bit. We're going to start today's show with a cold card and we do this every week because it is a reminder that sometimes the hottest cards in the sports card market can quickly turn cold. So please invest carefully. And our cold card this week is no other than Esmeraldin Valdez, the magician. Well, he was the magician back in July. He certainly was the magician. He was one of the breakout rookies of 2026. He earned the NL Rookie of the Month for July after he hit 250 with eight home runs and 25 RBIs that month. But now in August, he's cooled off a bit. He's recently fallen into a slump and strikeouts are becoming a growing issue for him at the plate. But overall, look, his numbers are still great for a rookie. There's still a lot of excitement about this guy in Pittsburgh. He's still a very promising young bat that they can build around. He's just not quite as Hyper at the moment as he was a month ago. And that means that his card prices are falling. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. You can see right there on the chart the fall I am talking about over the last 30 days. That one-of-one great. That's not what you want to see. This is why you got to be careful. Careful folks, when investing in sports cards. This is your 2024 Bowman Asmer Lynn Valdez first, first Chrome Prospect Auto card in raw condition. This thing is down over 50, 57 over the last 30 days. That card was all the way up at around 200 bucks. Now it's all the way down at $77. Be careful out there, everybody. Here's the Refractor number to 499 of the same card. This one's down even more. This one was up at 400amonth ago. Today it is down at $148. You. Yikes. And here is the purple Refractor numbered to 250 of the same card. This one's down a little bit less, but this one did get as high as $400 as well. And now it's about $228 as of the last sale. And then finally, let's look at his 2026 Bowman Mega Box. Chrome Prospect Auto in raw condition. This one. Oh my gosh. 30 days ago this was $132 and today it is $29. Be careful with the hype, ladies and gentlemen. It can come back to burn you. But now let's talk about cards going up. And we're going with a player who was Hyper for many, many decades and deservedly so. The hype is real for Walter Payton. Yes, Walter Payton, of course. He was the great running back for the Chicago Bears from 1975 through 1987, known as Sweetness and has become one of the most iconic and beloved figures in the history of the NFL. He was known for his durability and his versatility and he became the NFL's all time leading rusher at the time of his retirement back in 1987. He finished his career with 16,726 rushing yards and 110 touchdowns. He was the league MVP, he was the offensive player of the year and he was a nine time Pro Pro Bowler along his career. And of course now people know him for the NFL man of the Year award which is named after him. Rest in peace. Walter Payton, definitely one of the good ones. And if you've invested in his cards, Yu-Gi-Oh you've done good things as well. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. And this is Walter Payton's iconic 1976 Topps rookie card in PSA 10. The last time this sold it sold for 81,000. That was a while ago though. That was several months ago. But even then it was up a decent amount from the time it sold before. But look at all the different grades of this. These are all, all going up. In fact, we're going to look at the details in a little more detail. The PSA 9 over the last year has jumped from around $5,000 to over $9,100. The PSA 8.5 a little over $2,000, but now it's close to $4,000. The PSA 8 over the last year has gone from about $1,200 to about $1,900. And the SGC 10 over the last year has gone from $34,000 up to close to $40,000. Been a really, really nice year for many goats, including Mr. Walter Payton's cards. But now let's talk about players playing today. And in the number five spot on today's list, it is Ivan Devinov, the right wing for the Montreal Canadiens. Yes, we got hockey in the list today, which I love to see. Demidoff established himself as One of the NHL's premier young stars during his first full season with Montreal, finishing with 19 goals, 43 assists and 62 points in 82 games. And his impressive rookie campaign earned him a second place finish in the Calder Trophy voting while helping Montreal make a run to the Eastern Conference final. Now, Montreal made it clear that they are committed to Demidoff as a cornerstone of their future as they signed him to an eight year, $73.2 million extension this summer. Nice. The kid cashed in. And if you've got his cards, you might be cashing in as well because let's take a look at a few of them here in Market movers. This is Demidov's 2025 Upper Deck Young Guns base card in PSA 10 over the last 30 days. That's up 26%. $510 as of the most recent sale. You could have snagged that for about $400 30 days ago. Here is his young Guns Outburst Silver in raw condition. $432 as of the last sale. That's up a little bit. It was $402 last month. And here is the Young Guns base. We're back to the Young Guns base in raw condition. This one's up 20% over the last month. This is now almost $100 card. And then finally, let's look at his Young guns clear cut in raw condition. This one's nudged up slightly as well. Most recently has sold for $527. We're going to football for the number four spot today. And it is Drew Aller, the quarterback now for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Drew Aller made an immediate impression in his first NFL preseason action, giving the Steelers fans an early glimpse of his potential as their future starting quarterback. Maybe we'll see. You never know quite what's going on in Pittsburgh with their quarterbacks. But Aller completed 10 of 13 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns while adding a three yard rushing touchdown in Pittsburgh's 28 to nine one-of-one over Green Bay. The rookie accounted for three touchdowns without turning the ball over, showcasing the arm talent and efficiency that made Pittsburgh take him in the third round. And guess what? Yu-Gi-Oh his cards are moving up. Here they are in market movers. We're going to look at his 2022 Bowman Chrome University, his first Bowman Chrome Prospect auto card from his days at Penn State. And this card is currently $75. That thing sold for as little as $40 though just a few weeks ago. Let's look at his 2022 Bowman Bowman University Inception first auto card there in raw condition today. This is around 40 bucks. A few weeks ago that was around $21. Here's his 2024 Bowman Best University Best of 2024 autographs. Refractor card most recently sold for $49. That was down at about $23 30 days ago. And then finally let's look at his 2024 Bowman Chrome University Prospect Auto Card. $35 as of the most recent sale, $20 a few weeks ago. So all of Drew Aller's cards, Sal, seem to be moving in the right direction. Let's stick with football for the number three card today. But let's go with a quarterback who's a little bit more established. I'm talking about Dak Prescott, the longtime quarterback for the Dallas Gypsy Queen believe that he is about to enter his 11th season as the Cowboys starting quarterback. Yu-Gi-Oh He's been around for quite a while now and of course, this year he's hoping to lead Dallas back to the postseason after they had a disappointing end to their season last year. Last year they finished the 7, 9 and 1. But despite Dallas's struggles last year, Prescott engineered four fourth quarter comebacks and jumped 48 spots in the NFL Top 100 rankings heading into this season. So look, there's people out there that think maybe this is the year for Dallas and maybe this is the year for Dak Prescott. And there's some cards of his that are going up in anticipation of that being the case and you can see them right here in Market Movers. We're going to go back to 2016 and look at some of his rookie cards. This is his 2016 Donruss space card in PSA 10. This one's up almost 20% over the last 30 days. This is an $85 card today. This card was down around $70 30 days ago. And here's the Optic base from 2016 Optic and PSA 10. This is $115 card today. That's up 35% over the last 30 days. How about his red and yellow PSA 10 from 2016 Optic? This one's up a bit. $200 as of the most recent sale. $177 a month ago. Let's look at his 2016 Prizm silver in PSA 10. This one'S up a smidge. It's a little bit over $200 right now. $203. And in raw condition it's up a little bit more currently. $62 as of the most recent sale in raw condition. But you could have scooped that for less than $50 if you go back about 30 days ago. Is this year for Dallas? Is this their year? What do you think? Let me know in the comments. We're going to Baseball for the number two card today. And if you've been paying attention to the baseball season, it's probably no surprise at all that Joshua Baez made the top five list this week. Because Joshua Baez delivered one of the greatest debuts in Major League Baseball history, becoming the first player ever to hit three home runs. In his major league debut for the Cardinals, he homered on the first pitch of his career. And then he went deep two other times for an unforgettable introduction at Wrigley Field. Now, since that historic debut, Baez has been reminded of just how difficult major league pitching can be. He has gone over 17 with seven strikeouts since that first game. But you know what? We still remember that first game and that first game certainly caused his card prices to shoot up. Here they are in Market Movers. Look at the spike that was created. You can see it right there on the chart. Right in that area in the chart, you can see that spike that was created by that first game. That's incredible. This is Joshua Baez's 2022 Bowman Chrome first Prospect auto card in raw condition. This one's now at $167. During the spike, it had gone for as high as $348, but 30 days ago was $57. So it spiked a ton. It's come back down, but it's still still up a lot from where it was 30 days ago. Here is the Refractor version of that same card in raw condition. This one currently at $384. 30 days ago, it was at $178. Here is the blue Refractor version of that card. $700 as of the most recent sale. $235 if you go back a month ago on that card. And then finally, here is his Zebra edition. First Chrome Prospect no auto in raw condition most recently sold for around 45 bucks. But that card was less than $15 if you go back a few weeks ago. So what a breakout performance for Joshua Baez. All right, we've reached a big moment in today's show. It is time for today's number one card. But before I give it to you, let me remind you that all of the charts and graphs from this show are all from Market Movers. This guy was on the list last week. He might be on the list next week. His name is Pete Crow Armstrong and he is playing incredibly well. He deserves to be on this list in back to back weeks for sure. Of course you guys know Pete Crow Armstrong, the great center fielder for the Chicago Cubs, now a favorite to one-of-one the MVP award over Shohei Ohtani. And he added another signature moment to his incredible season this past week, blasting his first career walk off home run in the 10th inning to give the Cubs a 7 to 5 one-of-one over the White Sox. He also opened the game by homering on the first pitch he saw. And then of course he finished it with that two run blast and extra innings that led him to become the first Cubs player ever to hit both a leadoff and a walk off home run in the same game. He went 4 for 5 in that game by the way. And man, do we need to hand him the MVP award now or does Shohei Ohtani have anything to say about it before the season ends? We'll see. But what we know right now is that Pete Crowell Armstrong's cards are red hot. Let's look at Market Movers. I'll show you what I'm talking about. Look at the chart. Look at the chart of Pete Crow Armstrong's cards. Absolutely incredible stuff. This is his 2020 Bowman draft, his first Chrome draft pick auto card. This is the Refractor number to 499 in PSA 10 condition. This card is now all the way up at $2,833 big time. But if you go back even a few weeks ago, that card was $1,600 $2,100. So it's up a lot to get all the way up to over $2800. How about the non auto 2020 Bowman draft? His first Chrome Refractor PSA10. $426 today that card was $116 30 days ago. What a rise from $116 up to $426. Are you kidding me? In just 30 days. Here it is in raw condition. Similar story. This was $27 a month ago. Now it's $78. That's awesome. Here's the Refractor from 2024 Topps Chrome, his rookie Refractor card in PSA 10. This was $226 a month ago. Now it is $425. And then finally let's look at that same card in raw condition. Guys. This card was under $10 a month ago. Look at that. And today $27. Not bad. Not a bad return in 30 days. Powered by the bat of Mr. Pete Crow Armstrong. All right guys, I hope you enjoyed today's show.
