All right, guys, so couple things. We're going to start with some pickups. David, you had two cards come in that you actually purchased at the west coast card show. You had a great time at the show. You did Some NBA submissions. Guys, you got to check out David Chase's Instagram account. It is taking off over there. He's got over 300 followers in, like, a week and a half. Congrats, Dave. And what you're. What I love that you're doing is you're doing reels. You're. I don't know if you've posted any pictures. You're putting up reels. You did a bunch from the West Coast Guard show. You showed your MBA submission. So congrats on the success you had there. Having your eye appeal assessments sort of corroborated by Mike Baker and his business. So that's pretty cool. But, guys, you can go check out David on Instagram if you're not following him yet. Make sure you do. You can see those reveals over there. And you had a couple of pickups that you bought at the show, David. I got them teed up and ready to go. Would you like us to look at the. At the earlier card first or the more recent card first? Lou Gehrig. A beautiful copy. It lives in an SBC4 holder with an NBA silver sticker. Fresh, David, congrats on the pickup. I love this card. It's gorgeous. It's probably this next Garrig I'd like to own as well. If I get. You know, I got the 33, number 92. The question is, do you go with the 34 or do you go with the yellow 34? I don't know. You went with this green and blue card. I think it's gorgeous. Tell us about it. Why do you love it? Yeah, actually, they're all the same for me, and I want them all. I want the 33 and the 234s in my collection someday. And I've just try to look for a copy that I really, really like. A 4 is higher grade than what I was really wanting to. To do this, but it was just very hard for me to find this card in a version that I like. It was. It was a lot of hunting for me to be able to get there. Now, the run of the reasons why I ended up Getting this card is because there is an amazing copy on the Big Fanatic show and it's a PSA four and a half. And I kind of fell in love with that card and. And then I started looking at it in more detail and I actually kind of liked this one a little bit better than it. And I have a feeling that the one off fanatics is going to go for such a ridiculous price that I felt like I kind of wanted to pick this up before that auction happened. And yes, the national might not be as much fun because I'm not going to have as much of a buying spree, but I can still think of this card as the national pickup because I got it right before. I really do enjoy it. And it was pre sticker I did. I have to tell you something about stickers that I think is always funny to do to dealers. What you do is you get the card that's not stickered. And you know, I always ask them, like, have you tried to send this to NBA? And you know, they usually say no. Who knows if that's ever true? But they always say no. So then after I got it done, I went over to Ash and I, who I ended up getting this card from it. And I was like, hey, do you want to see? I have some new inventory for you. And then I tried to give that to him. I said, it's only a 50% more than what I paid for three days ago. That's like my favorite. What did he say? I'll buy it. It's like he's like, get the hell out of here. You know, Beautiful card, David. Congrats on. And you know what, that's an interesting thing to think about is, you know, kind of blowing your national budget the week leading up to it and how that changes your experience. And I think one thing that does for you is the pressure's off. Like, literally, if you, if you're. If your sort of motivation at the national now is no longer the same as it was before you bought this card, I. E. You're not there now looking to find a. A hu. A big card. No. Thousands of dollars, you've done that. The pressure is kind of off. You know, you can buy a couple smaller cards, but in a way, do you feel at all less pressure when it comes to what you're going to buy, going to the national because you acquired this card a little bit. But I mean, like, I. I love having buying sprees. I love having the ability to just buy some big stuff now. I have a lot of card capital that I was first thinking I wasn't going to bring. But west coast card show, I didn't sell as much as what I was expecting to. So I probably still will have more of that. So if a card smacks me in the face, I have ways to be able to still get it. But I wouldn't say that I don't really put pressure on myself. Last year national, I didn't get any of the cards that I wanted. It wasn't pressure, it was just annoyance. Like, I was just annoyed that I wasn't able to pick up anything because everyone was telling me, if you can't find her at the national, you can't find it anywhere. Well, I wasn't able to find the versions. It's so not true. That's, that's, that's just not true. Well, cool car, man. Congrats. Any, any comments from Joe or Josh on, on this, on this pickup that David made last week. Josh, nice card. Okay, here's the other one he got, guys. Yeah, kind of anti climactic there, David, but how about this one, guys? How about this one that he picked up? The 1985 Nike promo Michael Jordan, the Jumpman card. If we can call it a card. I'm joking. PSA 8 holder, gold NBA sticker. Now, David, you never owned this card before. Is this the first time you've owned it? First time I've owned it and I got the sticker. What, what are your thoughts on this card, I. E. Where does this card fit in to Michael Jordan's cards? In the 80. Like the higher. You got the star cards, the 101, all the other ones, you got the FLIR cards, 86, 789, whatever. And now you got this one, you got the, you got the, the shiny. What's the sticker called, Josh? Again? The, the prism sticker. And you got this. Which, where does this card, David, fit in for you in terms of the hierarchy of those early 80s cards that are somewhat referred to as rookie cards by various people? What I like about this card is that a lot of basketball fans don't love it, right? Because they kind of think of it as a little gimmicky. And I don't mind that. And you know, I like to think of reasons, possibly when I don't like the reason why somebody sometimes gives a negative answer of a card. I kind of like to go through that in my mind over and over and over again. And here's kind of where my thought is. I think this is kind of like The Goldilocks card, I think of it more versus the 101 and the FLIR card. The FLIR card's a junk wax card. Sorry to tell that to people, but it has 55,000 copies. It is just absolutely crazy how many copies there are. The Star card is a card that, first of all, it's very, very, very expensive. And it's also like a card that has a terrible photo on it. It's made on cheap. Like, you know, it's a Kmart kind of card to me. And it went up so high, I'm probably never going to own that card. This is like the one that's kind of just right. That's in between that there's a population of 6,000. I think there's 2,000 of the star cards. So, you know, that's, I think don't hold me to this, but maybe like less than how many 54 tops Hank Aarons there are? So it's like they're out there, but there's not a crazy amount. I think they produce a lot because, I mean, this was given to Nike shops and like places where they ended up having radio stations and things like that when the first Air Jordans were sold. So, I mean, there 1.6 million Air Jordans were sold in 1985. It was a complete phenomenon. But most people threw away this card because they weren't card collectors. Right. It was like just part of like kind of the throw in for that card. I think it's kind of cool. It's not just a basketball card to me, which is what I like. It's kind of like a pop culture card because it is. It represents the beginning of Nike, it represents the beginning of Air Jordan. And when you're talking about photos, I know we all think of that 86 FLIR photo as being the. One of the most iconic cards to anybody that's not into cards. This is the most famous photo of Michael Jordan. And I think that it represents maybe one of the greatest photos ever taken. Is it large in the size of a postcard? I think that's one of the negative things. Yes. But I do think that there is room to run. And this is. I have. This is my only Michael Jordan card. And I'm not. I'm expecting to keep it for a long time. It's awesome. Josh, I know you're in the Jordan collecting community. Where do you. Where. How does this card rank for you? And. And don't hold back if you don't like it just because David picked it up. Let's hear your thoughts. I mean, I could look past that, but it's really nice card. I love the. It's got Chicago, the skyline in the background, which I think is awesome. And given the. Where the Sears Tower is there, it's taken on the west side, so probably right near the stadium. Awesome image. I love the old 80s look of the Jordans. That's a cool card. I. I have one, so, you know, I have a roll. You get yours? Josh, when did you get yours? A long time ago. You know, it's like a long time ago. No, no, no, I don't need to slap it. It just bought it and kept it in my shoe box. It's a great card. Nice. How about you, Joe? What do you think of this piece? Do you own one now? Have you ever owned one? Do you. Do you endeavor or strive to own one at some point? I love it. I don't own one. I never have. If memory serves, there's an interesting story around the photo shoot of this card. Obviously, it was utilized for the Jumpman logo, which is now ridiculously, well, you know, known and popular. And so I think it's a. I think it's a cool pickup. David, I'm. I'm appreciative of you jumping into a new lane for you and I. The one thing that I have a little bit of a challenge with is the. The different size of the card, and that's just. That's my own peculiarity. But I love the card. I love the image. I love the aesthetics. How dare you, Joe, alienate a card because of its size? What kind of approach is that to collecting? Come on, buddy. It clearly means I'm ready for the. The loony ward and. And need a little psychiatric help. You know, my. My binary. My very myopic thinking, and I. I may need a little therapy there. I love the foreshadowing, Joe. Very slick, buddy. Very slick. All right, well, David, my thoughts are. You know, I've never been a fan of it because of its oversized nature, because I think it's the dark background. I wish it was a brighter background. However, that said, I think it's an amazing piece. I love, David, how you frame it as being a. A cultural phenomenon, a pop culture type of item. The fact it came with the shoes, the distribution method of it really adds to it to the point where I think I might want to get one and just put it up with my. I have. Because I do have two oversized cards that sit on my shelf over there, like early 1900s, you know, advertising Cards with hockey images on them. This is a piece that I could actually see myself grabbing. And like you said, David, for the same reasons, the stars are out of reach. The, the fleers are junk wax. They're, they're, they're, they're not really interesting to me anymore. So, yeah, I, I love the pickup. David, with knowing your collection, the direction you're going, it's perfect for you. Congrats on the card. Congrats on the eye appeal corroboration by Mr. Mike Baker. So it's awesome. All right, guys, I will now share my pickup. And this is a card that I did not expect to get. Quick story here. I've been collecting since 2009. I've been collecting from in the game as a company that was owned by Brian Price, who was an original. I think he was part of early pro set. Maybe he had. He reacquired the Parkers brand. He worked with, with I think pro set to just to. To produce under the Parker's brand. He then started his company in the game which was fully licensed for the first few years. He lost that license in 05 when upper deck got the exclusive. Continued to make unlicensed cards under several different brands. And one is called ultimate memorabilia. And in 2008, nine ultimate memorabilia he produced the very first cards that ever had were like the patch was the whole card. The card became about the patch, not about the player or anything else. So it's really a showcasing of a piece of game. He's memorabilia. And I fell in love with. With these oversized patch cards and started hoarding them. And at one point I had, I think almost 90 car. They're all one of ones. The, the these. Now there were lots of cards that came out in these packs. You got three slabbed cards in a pack. And one of them was going to be, you know, a memorabilia card. One was an autograph, one was a base card. And if you got the right mem card, it could be a one of one if it was one of these jumbos. And that's what I went after. And I, I picked up a whole bunch of them A couple years ago. I did move out of some and I'm down to having 60. Well, I had 67 until yesterday and now I have 68 of them. However, the one I picked up yesterday is from a different product, but it presents the same and I love these things. If you, if you look right over here, these nine cards are from that collection. You can't really see them because of the light. I also have some loose ones sitting, and then on this side, you can sort of see it. But, like. Right. How can I do this? Right, you see that? Right. Right there is a. If I. Right, there is another cabinet with nine more of them in it. I have. So I have a. Have about 20 of them on display. I'm going to share my screen now and show you my whole collection of these things, because I have them scanned. So here's my collection of 67 of these items, guys. You can see right there. And they're. They're. They're beautiful. I love them. If I actually change the view to extra large, you can see a bit better what these things look like. And I've been. Again, I've had these cards for year. For 15 years now. Now the story comes down to this one right here. This is a Wayne Gretzky card that I picked up about a year ago or so. This card was listed on ebay with a buy it now or best offer. And. And I knew when I saw it that I had to get it, because if this. If this was grabbed by anyone else, I'd be heartbroken because I had this big collection of these awesome cards, but I had no Gretzky. I got Lemieux. I've got Gordy Howe. I've got Ovechkin. I've got some great players. I was missing a Gretzky. A buddy of mine was negotiating with the seller on another card that he had that was impressive, like this one. And. And he's local. He's a friend of mine. And I said to him, and he told. He asked me some advice. I said, hey, if you do it, try and get me that other one. This one here, work it into the deal. Let me know what it. What it costs, and I'm gonna buy it. I need that card. Try and get it for me. Because I was having no luck with the seller. Well, lo and behold, he reached out. He goes, I got you the card. I go, how much? He tells me, I go, done. You know, thank you. Whatever he said, I had to pay, right? But the other card that he was negotiating on was even more impressive. And it was a card that I was like, ah, how I need that card. But my friend got to it first, and he didn't want to move it. So I said, I'll take this Rangers piece as a consolation. But also, I've grown to love it so much. It sits behind me, top, middle, as a really important part card in my collection. But there was always another card that I wanted more. Also, A Gretzky. Well, my buddy reaches out to me last week, and he's like, hey, I think I can move that card. That other one now. I think I'm. I don't think it's fitting my collection anymore. And I said, well, that's awesome. I would love. I would love to have it. And we went through a process of negotiation, and I was actually going to step away from it, but then he reaches out. He's like, hey, I need to meet up with you for other business. Should I bring that card? Yeah, bring it. Let me see it. Put it in my hand. So we met in the parking lot of the Starbucks yesterday and. Or the day before maybe at this point, and we started chatting and we. I wasn't expecting this, but we made a deal on this other card, and I was kind of dumbfounded because I wasn't expecting to be able to buy the card. And I'm. It still really hasn't hit me yet that I own this piece. I'm gonna throw it on the screen now. But this, to me, is the crown jewel of unlicensed hockey cards ever made. I don't think there's a better, more important hockey card. And it's made by Brian Price. And in the game, it's a pack pulled card because he had redemptions going. I. In that big gang image I showed you guys a few minutes ago, I have a few redemptions that were given away at the Expo at the in the game booth back in the day in 2009, 10, 11. But this card is the crown jewel of that whole collection. Now, are you ready? Here it comes. Boom. Wayne Gretzky, famous fabrics, first edition, incredible emblems. One of one, the full crown. And this crown comes from, if you look at a game, used LA Kings Wayne Gretzky jersey. He's got the big LA King. It's got the big LA Kings logo on the front. And that crown is. Is sort of at the bot. And you can kind of see those angles coming down at the bottom there. That's the bottom of the Kings logo. It says LA Kings above it. That's the crown on the chest. Logo of a Gretzky game. Used LA Kings jersey. There's only ever been one other crown to make it onto a card like this. And I've seen it. I know who has it. I tried to get it. I couldn't. But when I compared that crown to this crown, it is clear to me that this one is definitely the right patch. The other one I've seen, I don't know if it's the right patch, I'm skeptical. So I got there. Yeah, David, I know. It's a whole. I mean, what does that mean? It means that I can't match it. I can't match the detail of that crown, which looks a bit different than this one. I can't match it to any LA Kings game worn jersey. Maybe it's from an All Star game or something, but this. And at first, because of that card, I was skeptical of this, but then I did my research with my buddy who had this card and sold it to me, and it became obvious that this is certainly authentic. And it says, and Brian Price, you know, a reputable man in the hobby. He's been in the hobby his whole life. You know, he's. He's. He's got a great reputation in the hobby as the. As having great memorabilia. This one, to me, is. Is the crown jewel of any card he's ever made. It's the Wayne Gretzky. And now while I don't yet have it in my. In this. In this folder, when I put this, that is now the crown jewel of this whole collection. And it's pretty cool that I can pair it with the Gretzky here and have the two kind of my favorite Wayne Gretzky memorabilia cards ever made. And I will say that are not licensed because he didn't have the license at this point, but I don't care. To me, the memorabilia stands on its own. So, again, as I said, it still hasn't really hit me yet that I've acquired this card. And I've been working on this collection for 17 years. To be able to add the crown jewel, literally a Crown as well, 17 years later is pretty cool. I'll show you the back of it. Right here's the back of the card, and it does say, you know, on the front of this card is a piece of emblem from a game used Wayne Gretzky LA Kings jersey. And that's just awesome to me. So, yeah, couldn't be happier. It hasn't hit me yet, but it will soon. And anyway, any thoughts, guys? Of course. Yeah. Joe, thank you. Well, in, you know, kind of fitting, going back to the theme that, you know, anxiety and some of the anxiety that you had and the wonderful story of kind of coming full circle to getting this card. I just want to pull out a quote from Henry iv, Part two, Shakespeare's Magnus opus. Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown. Can you. What does that mean? Like, uneasy lies. So are you saying that someone like a king is uneasy in their, in their position. What is, Josh, what's going through your mind? It's that, it's that it's, it's otherwise known as heavy is the head that wears the crown. Being you. If you wear the crown, you have all this responsibility. So your head is heavy with the weight, but also heavy with responsibility. That's what that. And that's what that means from that part of that play. Good shout out there. Mind blown. Joshua has elevated himself into the, the level of scholar of, of literature list. I was an English lit major, so like, well, that's obvious. But seriously, it's, it's one of the, I mean, most amazing. I mean, especially for the king of hockey, Wayne Skretsky and, and you know, the king of content, Jay Lee, for you to bring this baby home to reel this one in in a parking lot in Starbucks. Very pleased for you, my friend. Thank you, Joe. I, I, you know what? I, I do appreciate that and that's helping it sort of hit home with me or let me, you know, kind of sink in that I, that I did grab this card and I almost didn't. So I, I feel so fortunate and lucky that I was able to get both those gretzky because again, 17 years in the making this colle and the. These are the most two recent. They're both Wayne Gretzky's. The collection didn't have it. It always felt like it should. Now it has them both. I don't, I'm, I'm giddy about it. It's incredible. I'm so happy to have these cards now and. Well, I appreciate the comments, Joe. Guys, you want. Oh, thank you. David. Yes. Two questions. When was that made? Like, do you have any. Yeah, 2,000. The car. Well, the card up. Yeah. It doesn't say it on the front, but if you turn it over down in the small text at the bottom, it says 2010 on the. And are they still coming out with cards that have emblems like that? Like, is that a new thing? Or they do they still. Because, because Brian Price sold in the game to Leaf. Now this card was made. He also had, he had in the game he had Famous fabrics was another, you know, division, let's say brand. I believe he sold that as well to leaf. I'm not 100, but we haven't seen a Famous fabrics release. I don't know for sure, but I'm thinking at least 10 years, maybe 15 maybe that's the one and only. They might have done a couple. Maybe one are in 2011. 12, but that's it. It's important to me that it's from the first edition of Famous Fabrics as well. It's not from the 2, 3 or 4. It wasn't a redemption to me. It's just awesome. Did that answer your question? Yeah, it did. And then I have one more which is, is there a Gretzky Oilers one of these? And if it is, how badly do you need that card? Yeah, I mean, I would need it very badly. I don't know of one. I don't think there is one that would complete the trifecta. You know, of the three teams that he played for over 40 games for, I say that because I think he played 39 games for St. Louis in his last year. But yeah, I would love to have that, but I don't think it's out there, so I'm not worrying about it. Yeah. All right, cool, guys. Well, thank you, David, for your pickups, for sharing. But we're not just going to take, you know, any approach. We're going to. We're going to take a different approach. We're all. We're each going to share one thing that we are excited about, something we're curious about and something we are anxious about when it comes to being at the National. And so let's start with excited. What are we excited about in the national? And one rule, one rule, you can't say the people because we know that. And also can we say that should we not say the cards themselves? Like we know we're going to get cards anyway. Say whatever you want. We're just not going to say the people because we all know we can't wait to see all the people obviously. But let's go around the horn. Let's start with David on what are you excited about, David, when it comes to this year's National? Well, to say you can't say the cards, that's a hard one for me because that's really where I was going. Like, I mean just to have that amount of cards in one room and dealers in one room and to be able to find a lot of things that you're not able to find at any other show. Right. Because like for me, like I'm now like into some non sports and things like that. They don't come to my local shows, they're not at west coast card show and front row, the big time dealers of those kind of things. So to have these kind of national dealers that I just don't see very often and the ones that don't travel very much, I'm excited to see their inventory and let's hope they haven't repriced them since the last time they were at the National. Right, exactly. What about you Joe? I mean David kind of stole my thunder there but I mean I'll, I'll lean in just a little bit further because it is the cards and, and the dealers that maybe don't turn up on the west coast. It would be really the off the radar cards, like not necessarily the most expensive ones but, but you know, cases that might just have, you know, holdings of particular issues. I don't want to call them oddball cards and alienate anybody but you know, things that you don't normally see that could be super fun to have access to and that you might sort of feel like you're discovering something. They may be non sports, but they may be sports, you know, hostess, you know, cut out baseball 70s. It might, might be, you know, some, some of the things, you know, printing plates, just things that you don't come around or pop up all the time. How about you, Joshua Adams? Yeah. And by the way, Joe. Yeah, great comments. Finding new things. Josh, what about you? The people I'm excited to see, people I haven't seen in a long time and, like, I talked to once a year and we talk and we chat, and I get to see them and hang out. So I'm excited about that. Can I. Can I ask Josh a question? Yeah. Yes. Have. Have you always had a challenge following the rules? Always. I am, but, I mean, like, I don't even think he heard it. I don't think he heard that part of the question. I'm almost positive I heard it. I heard it. So if you. If you take away the cards, take away the people, what do you got left? Well, that's the only reason the breakers. I. I am sorry for that. I did buy into four breaks. I'll be there in the main stage with all the hype boys. I got my new Zion case. I'm good to go. Well, I mean, I'm a sucker for, like, installation, so, you know, like Vegas, the Mint Collective had some pretty cool installations. I. I'm. I'm hoping that the national takes it, kicks it up even higher than that. Yeah, I, I touch on that when. When our. On our second round. So. Thanks, Josh, for, For your. For your response. I think it was great. I'm glad you didn't follow the rule, to be honest. That's perfect. It's very on brand. So for myself, guys, a couple things I am excited about. First. Well, my dad's gonna be coming, so that's pretty cool. He'll be back again. I'm excited to. To have him there. I'm excited for Joe to be there. Joe's first national. I'm excited to see Joe at the national and just see that kind of maybe, you know, this will be like my 18th national. Something crazy like that, which is probably only behind Josh on the screen. So I'm excited to. To. To see Joe. Just to kind of enjoy watching Joe seeing it through fresh eyes for the first time. That'll be a lot of fun. I'm also excited for the YouTube dinner, the YouTube gathering on Thursday night, where, you know, it's all the YouTubers, the commenters, the community. That'll be a lot of fun. And I'm also excited to, you know, it's like a couple booths that I can go to and feel like I'm at home. And there's two of them. One is Josh's booth at 90s auctions. I look forward to being able to just come hang out a job, you know, just take a. Come take a load off sort of thing. And the other one is the card ladder booth. Hanging. The card ladder booth is a great place to go, chill, charge your phone, have some candy and always see, you know, friendly faces there. So those are the things that I'm kind of excited about when it comes to the national, that it does not include the people, although they're all people related. So it's kind of a cheat code there too. But that's what I'm excited about. Josh, you got anything else to say? I am. I didn't. I totally lost it. Oh, you know what? I like seeing the auction houses have their displays for the upcoming auctions, which are really cool. And you get to see like stuff you want to bid on that usually you can't because it's always through the lens of a, of a computer screen. So that's always fun. I'm excited to see the Franken Wagner in person and actually hold it in my hand and look at it. That'll be exciting. David, what were you going to jump in with? This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I, I am excited to see the Franken Wagner, like the big. Kind of like that kind of a card. But for me, I'm the kind of person that when auction houses are set up at these shows, I know that this is probably a taboo thing to say. I don't really get excited about looking at those. I don't really get excited at looking at cards that are at auction that are not for sale at that moment. And it's just like one of those weird things where like at west coast card show there was like at least two or three auction houses there. I didn't look at one of those cards. So I don't know, I feel like for some reason when I'm at a card show, like it's like you go through and you're like, oh my God, there's a card. Oh, I can't even buy it right now. Pass it. I just keep walking. Yeah, I, I feel the same way when I. Especially if I want the card, but just to frame it. If you think about it from the. And I know you know this, but the auction companies and the. And there's a lot of people that do go buy those booths to look at the cards that they're going to be bidding on. And it's a great opportunity to look at them in hand. Otherwise you gotta, you know, if it's not the auction that happens during the National League rea will have their auction ending on the 16th of August, I believe and love of the game will have theirs on the 8th. You can go to their booths and see the cards that are coming up later and inspect them and plan your bidding accordingly. So for that reason, it's a great thing for those people. But for us who you're walking, you want to buy what you see. You can't. It can be a little frustrating. So I hear you. Let's go to the curious guys. Let's just go. Same order here. David, what's something you are curious about at the national this year? So we're doing excited, curious and anxious. This is the second one. This is curious. David, kick us off. I have two curiosities. One is a smaller one, which is what is the SGC booth going to look like? I think that it could be a ghost town. I think that there's probably going to be zero line at all times. I hope that I'm wrong and I'm just very curious to see what it's going to be. And I'm going to be walking by that booth all the time. And I just want to see if there's ever a group of people or a line of people, which, man, I hope there is. I just don't have the greatest thought on that. The other one, kind of a very similar situation is I want to walk by NBA because they're slabbing on site. And I think because of PSA and SGC not slabbing on site or PSA is doing it, but at a very expensive threshold. I have a feeling that line is going to be crazy. And I'm interested to see because are they going to challenge some of these graders? And I just think that that will be an interesting thing if there's a huge line or just a line that you can get into. But that's something that I've been thinking about. I'm going to layer a curiosity onto your curiosity. When it comes to the lineup in NBA, which is the cards. What are the cards that are in line to be slabbed by NBA? Are they. Is it exclusively vintage? Which I think it would be like. I think it's gonna be 90 plus vintage. If not all, will there be. I guess the better way to say will there be any modern cards going to the NBA Grading? We'll see what happens after as they start to make their way onto the secondary. Joe Perot, curiosities for you. And this. I'm intrigued by what you're going to say because he's the only one on the screen who's never been there. David was only there once Last year. So you've got a bit of experience. Joe, what are, what are you, what are you curious about? Well, David said something in relation to the SGC that made me think about a curiosity. It's a small. This is the small one. Kind of as we get on the freeway of the larger trip, I'd like to see a new BGS holder in hand. I kind of want to just hold on to it, feel it, take a gander at it, see how the plastic looks, just kind of get a vibe for that. So looking forward to that. That's a small curiosity. A more significant curiosity, though, is in a frothy, smoking hot market, what does that do in terms of transactions? How much friction does that create in movement of cards this way, that way, Consumer to dealer, dealer to consumer. And then also, as I've always, you know, the last any number of years, especially in the content creation times, where I'm the person watching YouTube, trying to get a sense of what this particular national is all about, like what's the theme or what's, you know, is it a football, young quarterbacks kind of vibe? Is it, you know, everyone's going crazy for Jackie. I'm looking forward to being in, you know, the eye of the hurricane and sort of attentive to what is the narrative or the story. What is the key element that is sort of representative of this year's National? Yeah, that's a really, really interesting lens to think through, is you're kind of, to me when you're saying that, I'm thinking to myself, yeah, like when we come away from the national, Joe, it seemed like what were the trends that were really present there, that, that were just pervasive throughout the room. That'll be. And there'll be a few, you know, but that, that'll be interesting to, to debrief later on. Joshua Adams. I mean, you've been there more than anybody to the national. How many have you been to? And what is, what are you curious about in 2026? I think 20 or 22. I think there's one that we skipped. Right. Because of COVID So I think 21 to seal. Come up to the booth. You know, I'm so excited to see what comes up to our booth and for auction or to buy. And it's always interesting because sometimes you see pretty rare, unique stuff. Yeah. Okay, so for me, guys, I gotta, I got a couple. The, the first one I think is, is new since I heard what Joe said about you know, the transaction volume and the, and, and just what's good. The frothiness of the hobby. Well, everything I heard about Fanatics Fest was that the dealers could not keep the cards in the showcases. So is that a signal that is going to. Is that a signal of what to expect at the national, guys? I think it is. I feel like it is. I feel like the national is going to be crazy and the dealers are going to come out of there and they're going to all be buying Lamborghinis because they are going to be selling their inventory. I think that's what's going on. I don't think there's enough inventory to go around for the demand out there right now. You look at what's going on with prices of cards. Last night I actually I just went down a rabbit hole of revaluing a few cards in my collection. I have this one folder where I can. Where I. I do that almost never. The last time I did it was a year and a half ago when I bought my Joe Jackson. I went into that folder and I took some of the cards and I'm like oh my gosh. This card was you know, 10,000. Now it's 25. Like that was happening. This two thousand dollar cards. Now there's a couple comps supporting five thousand dollars. It's. There's just not enough inventory to support the amount of people coming in with the amount of money that they have. I don't think, I don't think that we comprehend the, the actual demand for this industry right now for the, for these collectibles and assets. I call them both because they are both. So I'm. I'm curious Joe as well. What I came prepared with for this topic however was Upper deck. Upper deck has the biggest footprint they've ever had at any, at any card show before. They've doubled their floor. Their, their. Their. Their floor, their footprint. So I'm really interested to see and curious to see how they are position now. They've got the new Michael Jordan deal. They got these signed 86 flir packs. The signed box. It's going to be in good in Goodwin this year. I'm really curious to see not only what they are doing from an installation perspective. Joe, you'll be impressed. I'm sure they. That's one of your curiosities as well. I'm also curious to see how they are going to leverage their licenses to make an impact where they have no basketball except for Jordan baseball or football licenses. I'm really curious. They're doubling their footprint. That's a huge investment. They're making. Is it going to work for them? I will actually be doing two podcasts. They have a podcast stage. I have two slots. I'm doing podcasts there. One of them, I'll be interviewing Billy Celio as a project manager. I don't. Or product manager. I still don't know who the second one is yet. They haven't told me, but they're arranging that. So I'm excited about that. So. So that's a curiosity. The Upper Deck booth. Another curiosity is the upstairs. Last year was the first time they opened up the upstairs to tables and it was a lot. There were a lot of criticisms about just how, how, how tight and packed it was. And I'll tell you, I want, I got some of my best pickups upstairs. So I'm glad it was tight and people didn't want to go up there. But this year, if you look at the map, they've, they've, they've expanded it. I'm. And they put the main stage up there as well. The Burkus Memorial Stage will be up there. I'm curious to see how the upstairs is and what people think of it. There's always going to be something that people will find to complain about, I guess. I'm also curious what is this year's biggest complaint going to be? A couple of years ago in Chicago was the air conditioning went out. Okay. You know, not only so much you can do about that, but apparently the Stevens center has rectified that situation so it won't happen again. That was rectified for last year too, where it was great. I'm curious about, I'm curious about Internet and WI fi connectivity because as Cage actually said about the About Fanatics Fest, he said if card ladder goes down, the show goes down. You need card ladder at these card shows nowadays. So I'm curious how the Internet's going to hold up, which in an event which will have more people than ever tapping in to that WI fi. So upper decks booth, the upstairs and the, and the, the Internet. I'm curious to see how that all goes out. And then I want to see as we debrief this in a couple weeks from now when we're all home from the national. What's the big issue? What's the complaint going to be coming out of the national? I hope there's nothing, but I'm sure there will be something. I don't want to, I don't want to underestimate the hobby and their ability to come up with something to complain about. So Those are my curiosities, guys. Any before we move on to some to our anxieties, Anyone have any comments, just put up your hand. If not, we're going to go straight to anxieties. We'll just go the same order. David Chase, what is something or some things that you are anxious about when it comes to this year's National. What am I not anxious about? That's the better question, Jeremy. Now. But I, you know, I'm in my head about everything at all times. But couple of things you mentioned. One of them that was my first thing that I said was like if the WI fi goes out right, I have ways to get around that. By the way, if you have like a couple of really like grail cards that you absolutely are going for and if you want them in like versions, like for me, I want high eye appeal. I write out a spreadsheet and I literally put like a few of those cards in at SGC and PSA ones. One and a half, twos, two and a half. Like I do that across the board of the top price that I'd be willing to pay for that. I think it's a really good backup plan for you. But I still have anxiety over it because I'm a lot of times buying things that are not on my list. Before you go, before you go on, David, I think what you just, I think you just provided a really good tip for people in case the WI fi goes down, in case your phone runs out of battery. Not only have those spreadsheets available on your phone to look up, maybe you just take screenshots, but even like print out some pages of that data. Not only the pop reports, the comp reports as well. You know, you can utilize card ladder for both of those if you, if you want and have, you know, if you know you're going. And listen, it's only going to come in handy if you are actually now negotiating on one of those cards that you did the research for. But hey, the more targeted you are, the more this tip will work for you. Wouldn't work for me because I have no idea what I'm going to pick up at the show and I love that about being there, but good tip there. David. Sorry, please. What, what's the other one you had? I also have a little bit of anxiety just in general for my friends or everybody, like theft and anything like that of like, you know, there's going to be a lot of people with a lot of money and a lot of cards. Just be careful, especially leaving the building Try to be in pairs and things like that. And the third thing, this really gets in my head that shows how like crazy I am. I'm. Even though I know nobody would expect this, but I am a little bit of an introvert. Even though I know that that sounds. I'm able. It takes a lot out of me to be around a lot of people that I don't know personally, people that I'm around personally I'm able to chill and hang out and have a good time. But for people that I'm not, even though I'm in sales and I do it all day long, it takes a lot out of me. And a lot of times like last year I didn't know anybody so at the end of the day I was able to go back into my hotel room and chill. Now I have like a lot of things planned at night with like these partes and like things like that where you're kind of going to be on from like morning till night. And I think that's going to take a lot out of me. So I have a little anxiety about that too. Fair man. Yeah, don't believe you that you're an introvert. But that's fair. That's fair. But you're right there. Yeah, it's going to be great time and I'm looking forward to the partes. Joe Perot. How about you buddy? Like David I many anxieties and I'm glad we're getting a chance to process this or process this if we're in Canada. And you know, maybe in articulating it, you know, you gotta kind of feel it to heal it. Maybe it'll be less anxiety ridden if I get this out ahead of time. After the last west Code coast card show where I met David Chase in person for the first time, I met, you know, Tony, I met a lot of the, you know, Mike Petty, we all hung out together. Greg midlife when I got home. And also the cards, you know, the kind of frenzy of card activity I was so there was like such a drop in dopamine that I literally like, you know, apropos of, of this show's namesake, you know, I had a card show hangover for almost two weeks. I mean it was like a sort of sadness that it was over. It was sort of taking stock of opportunities taken of opportunities missed. So that's something I already have like a little advanced anxiety about the aftermath. And it sort of dovetails with the fact that, you know that I will be returning to a Monday of in service with all the teachers coming back and everybody getting ready for the school year. So it's, it's something I'll. I'll be sort of managing myself, is maybe trying not to get too, you know, up there in my glee and excitement, enthusiasm, just, just so I can kind of ride steady. The other thing that I have some anxiety about, because I've heard this, like, this is almost a theorem of the national. If you see the card that speaks to you, you need to pounce right away. If this is because you could leave and one not be able to find your way back to the table, but also someone else is going to see that card, you're going to come back and it's going to be gone. So I have this sort of advanced FOMO of being in that moment of seeing a card that is a significant card. Yes, the resources, how will I pay for this? What do I have to do to actually get in this card? But also, I'm somewhat of an indecisive person. The idea that I'm anxious about having to make a decision on the spot and maybe in the first day, even like, maybe the first hours of perusing the show floor and having to make a decision right then and there, that could affect the entire rest of the show for me if I devote resources towards a particular asset. But if that right leaf, Dobie shows up there, David, I mean, I'm going to be in a pickle and I'm going to be texting you and hoping that our phones are working because I'm going to need to, you know, tap a lifeline and, and get some feedback quickly because I know if I leave that table that Dobie may be gone. Joe, you know, I've been, I've been saying, I've been preaching this since I started doing content, that, that, that when you go to a Show like in 20, 20, 21, all the way through, I've said this before. Every big show, you see a card, buy it. This is not new. This is not a new phenomenon. In 2026, this existed in the, in the slower times, in the hobby as well. I mean, there were, there were times, you know, it depends on the card. But you always, I mean, I've done this before in 2016, 17. I'll come back in an hour. You get back there, the card is gone. You know, it's not every, not every card, but the good stuff, if it's something good, if it's high eye appeal, if it's rare, all these things, you see it. So, Joe, you said it might happen. Right. When you walk in, be prepared for that because that's when it's all there. It's not going to happen on SAP that though all these cars will be gone by Saturday, there'll still be stuff, don't get me wrong, but you know what I mean, a lot of those best cars are going to be gone very quickly. So you need to get in there as early as you can on day one and look at as many showcases as possible. Now, where we are today in the Hobby 2026, this theorem applies more than ever before. There's going to be intense competition to buy and spend money in that show. I believe Fanatics Fest was a signal that verifies that, and I think it's going to continue on into the national. So now more than ever. And I've heard other people now preaching this on Hobby content. I've seen two other people say this and I'm like, guys, this isn't new. But it's now more than ever. So I'm glad people are putting that message out there, I guess. So for. Oh, that's all. That was it. That was. I just want to give you some feedback on that, Joe. It's true. And I think you're gonna find yourself in a pickle early. So maybe not to, not to increase your FOMO or, you know, your, your anxiety about it, but get, Be ready, dude. Be ready and nimble and. Yeah. Josh, how about you? Any. What are you anxious about? Oh, nothing ever. Anxious about loading in, loading out, making sure the booth is secured. Anxious about not losing my patience with people with video. Video recording themselves in the aisles for social media. Not losing my patience. People coming up and asking what are comps on something. So, you know, just the usual stuff. But it's always fun. You know, once I just want to get settled and get the booth set up at 2 on Tuesday, then I'll be good. Then you'll. Be, you'll be free of anxiety and you'll just deal with all the annoyances. I think maybe we needed a fourth category, which is one of the annoyances that you're getting yourself geared up with in order to handle. As they say, pressure is a privilege. So it's, it's. We're very lucky. I'm very privileged and lucky to be able to spend a week doing this. You know, I can move everything else in my life and I'm very lucky that, that I'm, I'm able to do that. So I'm. Yeah, I have to tell myself that every day when I get you know, good reframe Josh. Good reframe. Well, for me guys, I have, there's one thing that I have the most anxiety about and that is on Saturday at 3 o' clock I'm going to be hosting the Enter the Inferno production live on the Burkus stage upstairs. And you know, I'm, I, I have no anxiety or nerves when it comes to going live, sitting in my chair here and doing sports cards live or the, or, or the Hangover or any of the auction shows. I do, I don't get nervous for these at all. I did in the first month or so that I did content back in 2020 but this is going to be in person. We've never done it before. We're gonna have a lot of moving parts. So I have anxiety leading up to that and I'll probably have the anxiety all the way through until it's over. I'll take a nice exhale, gonna have a nice dinner that evening with, with my father, my brother and a friend of ours. So I'm excited about that. But, but that's where my anxiety is. And then the other one again touching on what Joe said, this isn't really anxiety, it's more just like maybe it's more of a curiosity. But the hangover after the national and not only personally but for the hobby, like there's been such a run up to the national with all the shows, all the excitement in the hobby leading. There's so much going on right now in the hobby. What happens generally speaking post national as we move from the first weekend of August into the durate, the remainder of August, September into the fall and what, you know, I guess the nice thing is that you got NFL starting up in September, you got NBA and NHL starting up in early October, October in October, baseball. We're gonna have the World Series coming up. So there's a lot of stuff there but the hobby is, is different than the sports and I'm curious to see what's going to happen in the like the six to eight weeks post national. But you, you can count on one thing. We will be talking about that on sports cards live on the Hangover exclusive here on the sports card clubhouse. Guys, any, any closing thoughts from anybody?
