It is the greatest perk. Some people would say it's the kids, but it's not. It's summer vacation. I. You know, it. I think it's sort of like labor, where when a woman goes into labor, I have a feeling that's not an enjoyable thing at all times. But then there's time to forget. Like, there's a reason that a woman is pregnant for nine months because they have forgotten how rough it was, you know, and we need summer vacation to reset like that. Yeah. I mean, labor seems easy to me, so. Yeah, I totally get it. So. I mean, that's what. My wife would smack me if I said something like that as a place. Like, it's not like when I have a cold or a headache. That's real pain, right? Yeah. No joke. Fall flat. Yeah. Right? Yeah. You don't understand how it is. Yeah. Yeah. All right. I've got for you. I get it. All right. What are we talking about, Greg? Let's. Let's talk about cards. Yeah. You came up with the topic today. The topic? You. You intro your topic. My topic. Can you hear me? Okay. I like to make lists. I feel like I can hear you. Can you not hear me? I can hear you. Me, too. There's a little delay issue going on. Oh, no. This is going to be the worst podcast ever. Are we going to be able to get through it? I think so. All right. I don't know. Let's try it. Sorry, audience. All right. We're gonna do our best. All right, here's my thought. I love the episodes that you have with Darren about picking your goals for the year, and this is like a version of that. But just like, you know, we're both going to the national together, and we have kind of our list. Sometimes people write lists, sometimes they don't. I love lists. And even though I sometimes buy things that are not on my List. I still like them, and I like to have kind of different price points of cards. And I was thinking in my mind, let's look at some crazy grail cards that we're probably never gonna have or probably buy or not say never. But it would be very hard to achieve these. But also ones that are affordable. So let's look at different prices of cards that are on our list. For the next card show, we go to maybe like $100 card, a $500 card, $1,000 card. And let's go for the big boys. 5,000, a 10,000 at 20, hit the lottery, get a $30,000 card. Just what would be our. One of those cards in each bucket, which is also, I think, interesting to some people to see that, you know, there's cards for every budget that are on our list, which is kind of fun too. Yeah. And it's also an insight as to how we're wired and what things get us excited as far as cards that maybe aren't currently affordable. But like you said, you never know. Who knows what's going to happen. We can never say never because anything can happen. Now we're going to go through several price points. I will start this off by this. As you set the price amounts, you, you said a 100 card, a 5, 500 card, a 1,000, a 5,000, a 10,000, a 20,000, a 30,000. And because there weren't ranges, because the way you kind of put it, there were a few cards where I'm like, well, this is really a fifteen thousand dollar card. So do I put it in the ten? I can't put it in the twenty. So that is definitely part of the thought experiment. But we can kind of unpack that as we go. So for anybody could be grade dependent. Right. Like, you know, you might. Yes. A smaller grade might be in the, the cheaper bucket also, obviously. Right. So if it's a $10,000 card that we put in, say it's a $15,000 card that we put in the $20,000 bucket. Maybe it's just a little bit nicer copy of the card than we otherwise would have considered. Very much agree with that. Now, what do you think of this as a new starting point for, for the. The Midlife Card Chase thumbnail? What are your thoughts on that? My first thought is my lights, which I just turned on. My second one makes me look very pink. I don't, I mean, I, I don't think in real life I look this pink, but man, I look at you and I look at me And I look like we're two different species, but. Well, what is your. What is your, like, family tree? Like, countries of origin? Russian, I think. Really? Like, yeah, like back in the day. Back in the day. Like great, great grandparents, like from Russia. Yeah. I see. I have more of an olive complexion, more of a middle Mediterranean. And you have more of a northern complexion and think is part. I'm more red. I gotcha. Your teeth. Your teeth are just fantastic. I do have to say that. Yeah. Beautiful teeth. David. Dr. Borenstein would be very impressed. I. I use. Dr. Crawford was my orthodontist. Oh, very nice. Do you still see him? No. He might. I think he. I believe he passed. I had. I had my subject. I got my braces in eighth grade, so, you know, 30 years ago. Wow. Did you have a headgear? I didn't have headgear, but I had all sorts of idle. I had some massive orthodontic issues, so. Did you brace it? Yeah, but I didn't have head. Did you have headgear? It worked. No, actually, I never even had braces that I. I shouted out my dentist name. Oh, my. Both my sisters had like, crazy teeth issues. Also. My mom had good. My. I don't. I think my mom had good teeth and my dad didn't. So I think I got my mom's teeth where I just got lucky with not having to deal with any braces or anything like that. I will say this. I've never had a cavity. Not one. My first cavity was in college. And that's because I didn't see the dentist for like three years when I was in college. Because, like, you know, when you're a college kid, you just ignore everything. But that's. And that's when I ended up getting my first cavity. But I'm impressed. Never a cavity. I mean, that stays with the Mr. Rogers theme for you to never have a cavity. I love it. Okay, so we're starting low with. And here is the prompt that you gave the card. I'd buy at the national if I had a $100 budget. We're going to go chase pick, then midlife pick, and then in the second round we'll go midlife pick and then chase pick. I will say this because I made the slide deck here. I am aware of your picks, but you might, my friend, are not yet aware of my picks. So that'll be an exciting reveal. Let's start with you, though. And your first pick is a Paul McCartney card. Tell us about this card and why it would be your $100 purchase at the National. So this card isn't really about the specific card that I would like. It's about the new lane that I'm in and how crazy cheap they are. And there's a big part of me, I spoke about this for the first time on the hangover last week, or actually, this is going to be in the future a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't really even want to talk about these music cards because they are so crazy cheap. And I'm at the beginning of my journey and I really don't want there to be competition against me because I am not selling any of them and I am buy, buy, buying. But here's the crazy thing. It's. I have not been able to buy cheap cards for a while. Not because I haven't been able to, but they just haven't excited me, right? Like I'm not that excited of a 1960s player. That's their eighth year card. It just doesn't really do it for me. And so like it was, it was a long time in between me buying cards because I was really wanting grails. And I've condensed my collection of all the, like the smaller cards and into the bigger cards. But then I started going down this path where I can find these early 60s and 50s music cards that have a population of like 20, that are 50, $60. And the reason why, possibly why there's a small population is because there's probably a lot of raw cards out there and they're international cards. A lot of them are from, you know, they're like Dutch versions or just different European versions of cards. But man, they are so cool. Of the greatest bands of all time, most of them are under $100. There's very little amounts, so it's like a really fun chase. There's lots of different versions. So you can find really cool versions of them. Like I'm going to guess this card is literally like a $60 card. And I'm going to guess there's probably 25 of them that are graded. So this is just my new lane where I'm able to pick up these cheaper cards. And I love it because now I get mail days again where I wasn't having mail days for a long time when I was going after the, the big boy cards. One of the things that I think that's very well said and one of the things that I've enjoyed about a couple of newer lanes that I've been in. I've been buying a few modern IS cards, late 90s, early 2000s. I've been doing a lot more non sport, turn of the century, non sport stuff is it does add a level of excitement because some of those things, depending on what it is, the hunt is more exciting because it's not something you see every day. So when you're in the hobby for a while and you start to feel like it's getting a little stale, you're getting a little bit bored. What's probably the case is it's not that you're bored with the hobby, it's that you're bored with your lane and sometimes you Need a new lane that gets you fired up and it gets your juices flowing, and you can start to learn about it again. You can start to really dig around. And. Now, that said, the card that I chose for my 100 budget, I can guarantee you, you've never seen this card before. Yeah, you've never heard of this card before. You've heard of this. Is it non sports? I don't think I would call this a non sport card. Okay. It's a weird sport. Got it. This. Let's see your cricket card. Let's see it. But the card itself, the. The person depicted on the card is a superstar at what they do. Okay, ready? I'm ready. Bang. Be quiet. What? Give you a real dude, the David Chase outfielder from the Mavericks. And look what it says right there. It says fan favorite. This is a tops card. Have you ever seen that card before? No, I haven't. I mean, come on, give me a real card. Okay. All right. My real card. I'm. An effort you put into this episode, though. This is a production. This is a good, high production. Correct. All right. My real pick for a hundred dollars is this card right here. I love that. Now, now, here's the. The issue with this card. So this card is from a set called Telestars, and it's a. It's an overseas set. I. I think it's South America, if I'm not mistaken. And the Telestars cards were all put. They were all like. Like Venezuelans, and it might be from Venezuela. I don't. I don't really remember, to be honest. It's. It's a different language, for sure. They were all pasted into scrapbooks. And so the ones that exist have significant back damage. You can find them. People are usually asking a fair amount for them. If you're listening at home, it's a card that has Jim Henson depicted surrounded by about a dozen ten or so Muppets. I'm a big Jim Henson guy. And you can find this card, but generally it has enough back damage that you can't read the whole thing. But this set is fairly. It's fairly rare. I have saved searches on them, and they do come up, but the Henson, to me, is the best card in the set. But there's, like, there's a Superman card in the set. There's some movies and television shows and things depicted in the set, but this. This would be considered by many people to be not Kermit's rookie card, but to be Jim Henson's rookie card. So what year. I know you have Kermit's rookie card. What year would that be? I think it's 76. And what do you think this is around. I'd have to look. I don't remember. 80ish. 1980ish. Yeah, something like that. Do you. It has to be early because look at Miss Piggy. Miss Piggy looks like a mess, right? Yeah, she's. She's had a rough night with Kermit the night before or something. That's early. Piggy. Yeah. Yeah. Dude, I love this card, Greg. Like, I'm. I'm gonna let you pick it up first, and then once you have your copy, I'm next. I really want that card. You like it more than this card? I like it more than that card. And I like it more than the Beatles card that I. That was my pick. Oh, my gosh. Well, maybe on my card that I was trying to pitch you on, which we do later in the episode, maybe I should have picked this. I mean, it's. I. I love it. And by the way, Greg has that special place in his heart for Jim Henson because he actually interned for Jim Henson Production. I've got cool stories, man. I'm really. We'll have to live Muppet show taping or a show that the Muppets did taping. Not the Muppet show, but. Yeah, it wasn't the Muppet show, but I watched. Because the thing that is interesting, people don't realize is there is one person who does each of the puppets. It's not like there are 10 puppeteers that do Kermit. There's one guy. And after Jim Henson died, because Jim Henson did Kermit, it was a guy named Steve Whitmire. Did it for, like, 10 years. And I saw Steve Whitmire do Kermit. I saw Gonzo, who's hidden there below Dave. Miss Piggy's face. Yeah, Dave Golds. He. I saw him do Gonzo. It was out of body experience. And then, believe it or not, I actually did have a conversation with him up at 2. There was a sound stage, and they were warming up Pepe the King Prawn and who later went on to do commercials for Long John Silver. And when he was warming up, I walked into the Soundstage and he started talking a. Pepe started talking to me. So I started kind of razzing Pepe a little bit about his dental work, because he has one tooth. And we kind of got into it a little bit during the warmup. So do you have any pictures of. This is before cell phone. This was 2001. So this is before cell phones had cameras on them. You know, this is when everybody had those Nokia phones or little bricks. Totally. So anyway, I don't. I love it. We're going to talk so much more about your Muppet stories. I mean, the Muppets are one of the greatest shows of all time. They're. All right. Great pick. I couldn't get better than that pick. Okay, next pick is a $500 budget at the national, and I'm going to go first, and I'm going with the Aaron Judge Bowman chrome refractor. Now, I know that a lot of people see me as a vintage card collector, which I am, but this is the card that got away. This is the card that I bought for like $300 in a 10, which now sells for about $5,000. And I sold it when it was about $600. So I would not buy a 10 because I'm not going to spend $6,000 on it. I would have to get like a 7. But I've always loved this card. I love Aaron Judge, and I am still heartbroken over the fact because the goal, the point was I was going to sell the 10, then immediately buy a 9, but then right after I sold it, he was really hot and the prices started going up. So I'm going to wait till his next oblique injury or something, and then I'll buy it. Well, he's been on a tear for the last three years, and so the price has only gone up, and now I'm basically priced out. So I would like to spend about $500 on a Bowman chrome refractor, Aaron Judge, and like a 6 and spend about what I sold my 10 for. So a 6 is 500 and a 10 is 10,000. It's like 5. It's like 6,000 for a 10. Yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah. I don't understand modern. Yeah, I'll take the six all day long, too. Okay. All right. Interesting pick the day. Interesting. I like that. All right, David Chase is next. Here we go. Of I like. This is a 1967 Venezuelan Retirado Stan Mutual. And I have a lot of retroados. I'm missing probably three that I kind of want Musual Honus Wagner and Sandy Koufax. The Stand Mutual. It should be worth $500 but if anyone tries to sell it online they try to sell it for buy it now they always put it for like $2,000 because it is a very popular card. Because that picture which is very phallic isn't it that picture? It is, it is a funny excited for sure. Yeah. Somebody pointed that out to me on one show like a year ago and it made me laugh which I didn't think about at the time. But it is funny when you look at it a certain way. But that's a great picture of old Stan usual man. He has a lot of good looking cards and this is one of those good looking car that he has. I really like this set. It does kind of look a little graffiti like I think that there's maybe 40 PSA versions. I don't know what the SGC count is but I'm going to guess there's probably more SGC. There's probably 100 of these out there that are graded. They always have messed up backs. I want one that's like a one that has a messed up back and a nice looking front and they're just hard to find. And the ones that you do find people have them as buy it now for crazy amounts and I would love her to be on auction or for it to be be at the national with a reasonable dealer which probably I won't find. Not something that like I need to have tomorrow but when the right one comes I will pick that card up. Love it. All right, David with his 500 choice. Next is going to be the $1,000 budget. So now we're talking a pretty decent sized card. A sizable card that you know. But I would think that both of us this is a possible card that we could pick up so as were the last two at the National. So with that said let's go with David first this time and he's going with the Bob Feller Wilson Franks share. So this card was not on my radar until about a year ago. I wanted the 54 Wilson Franks Ted Williams. That card has just, it's gone nuclear. It that price on that card has just shot up in such an aggressive way. I kick myself all the time for not picking one up a couple of years ago. The last time I tried I really went for one that was. I think it was an SGC one. I loved that card. It had a messed up back with a very nice front. I just for some reason it was the highest ever and I. I bailed on it. It ended up being Mike Petty's card. He's the one. He was the person that ended up winning. I was the second highest bidder on his version. And after he bought that card, this card has like the, the Ted Williams version has like doubled in price, so it's gone out of hand. I bought the Campanella, which I actually love the card. The thing I don't love about the Campanella versus the Feller is they're both orange. They both have that, that weird orange background. I wish they had different colors. But in reality, the only other hall of Famer that I kind of is even on my radar that's in the set is Enos Slaughter, who I don't really care about because he's a racist. So I like, pick Bob Feller and I like to have these flights of, of these sets. So for me, it's Campanella, hopefully someday at Ted Williams. And let's put Bob Feller in that flight too. There's only like 40 of these cards that are graded. They're really, really small pop and. But it's a good looking card. And it's just so funny to have a big thing of hot dogs next to his head. It just makes me laugh every time I look at it. Yeah, it's a cool set. And the Ted Williams is an incredible card. And our buddy Jake, contributor to the Sports Card Clubhouse Wax pack Wisdom Jake, recently acquired a Ted Williams. It's. It's an amazing card. All right, my choice. I'll be honest with you. I don't even remember what I chose for any of my picks, so. And I made this. Honestly, I think I made the slide deck yesterday, so I don't know what that says about me. The problem, I will say this is like, you know, I am. There are so many cards that I want. I can't get too caught up. Oh, I. Oh, no, I can't get too caught up in like. Like, I. Darren and I made our list at the start of the year, you know, on our off topic episode. And, and like, half of those cards I still would like, but there's a lot of cards that have leapfrogged those. So it's like I'm not gonna buy the card just because it was on that list. I like them still, but there are other things I like more. So I feel like I'm in this moment where the movement of what I like and what I want is, is changing so rapidly that I don't even know if you know, in A month or whenever. The national is just over a month from now if these cards will still be at this point. So. And there were, there were fifteen thousand dollar cards that I could have put. So in fact this one I believe I have a huge list of these. We're just taking one of each version. But it's, it's fun to have a constant change in our list. Yeah, right. Even this card I changed. I'm remembering now what I picked and what I almost picked. There was a different card that I almost picked and I ended up changing it at the last minute when I was making this. So my one thousand dollar card is. Now I have to throw this out there. This isn't really a $1,000 card. It would be a $1,000 card in a one. Say what it is though. Okay, I'm sorry. So this is a 33 Sport Kings Bobby Jones. Now a lot of the sport Kings sets have three athletes in each sport. So for example, in baseball there's Ty Cobb, there's Carl Hubble and there's Babe Ruth. There are three golfers, Walter Hagen, Gene Sarazin and Bobby Jones. I have the Hagan, I have the Sarahs in. I collect golf cards, which I know not a lot of people do. But the biggest card is this Bobby Jones. So in a one and this has been on my goal list with Darren for the last two years. But it doesn't pop up a lot. And when it pops up, it goes for more than I was expecting. Realistically to get a decent one like a decent two, I would probably have to spend over $2,000. But I put it here because it's a card that I'd really like to get. But it's. The gap between a thousand dollar card and a five thousand dollar card is substantial. And I wouldn't spend five thousand on this card. I would like to get one closer to a thousand. So this is probably a little bit of a cheat. It's probably the one that I will acquire someday will be somewhere between two and $3,000 instead of a thousand dollars. But it's a card I'd like to finish. The. The trio from the Sport King set. You. You taught me something I didn't. I. I've known so much about the Sport King set and I never put it together that there's three athletes of each sport. Is that like football? It's like it's Thorpe, it's Grange, it's Red Grange, Thorpe and Newt Rockne. Basketball, I don't remember. So it's. I'm pretty sure it's wow, that's I, I, my mind is blown because I've never put that together that I love that. So with this card, because it has low pop and you think that it's a little over, over what you're expecting the price to be, would this be like a my appeal kind of card where if you found one that, that had, that did not look great but it was the right price, would you buy it or would you still hold out for a nice looking version? I can handle certain things wrong with this card to afford. I don't need this card to be a high end copy. I could have issues with the card. I could have creases, I could have wrinkles, I could have some back damage, I could have some writing on the back. But there are certain things on this card that I won't sacrifice. For example, I don't want on I think the beautiful blue background. I don't want paper loss on the front. That takes away from the blue background. If there's a little bit of paper loss on his white shirt, I would be okay with that. So it depends on what the issue is. I could take a crease down in a corner or something but I couldn't take a crease anywhere near his face. I mean the focal point of this card is this kind of third of it right here. And I can't have anything distracting happening there. So I would be open to a copy. I mean because my, my Sarah's in and my Hagen are pretty decent grades. It's like the Hagen's like a four and a half and the Sarajan's like a three and a half or something. So I have pretty nice ones of those two. So I don't want to have then a dog on the front when I have them together that just goes, oh, that one's thrash like it has to be decent. But Sport Kings cards have been going nuclear over the last two years. They've gone way up. The Jim Thorpe has like doubled in the last six months. That card is out of control. That card. Darren picked one up in Strongsville, right? Oh dude, there's, there's one for sale right now. I don't remember which auction house but I, you could check it out on auction wire but it's like I, I, it's like 6, $500 with a couple of days left and it's like a two and a half or something. Like it's just gone crazy. So. Yeah. All right, next. And the Grange has been on my list for a very long time. The Grange is cool because he's got the leather helmet on and. Yeah, all right. A Thorpe only has a couple of cards. You only got like three or four total cards. All right, so let's go to the five thousand dollar budget and we'll go with me first this time. So now we're starting to get to like, wow, big. This is a card. If I could come home from the national with this card, that would make the entire national trip a success is the way I look at it. Like, this is pushing all of my budget for the national or close to it for sure. So this is for me, in my point in life right now. This would be a massive card. One of the top five cards at least, if not top three cards in my collection. And this one's probably not a surprise, but I'm going with the T206T Cobb bat on shoulder. With all seriousness, I. I really like all four of the Cobb cards in the T206 set. I have the red portrait, the green portrait I love. It's more expensive than the red. But I would assume get one of his quote, action shots next since instead of two with the same image, just different colors. So bat on shoulder, bat off shoulder. Either of those would be great. One of The Cy Young T206s would be great. I have both of the Walter Johnson's. I have two of the three Christy Mathewsons. I would really. I would really like to get this or the bat off shoulder at the National. They will be toward the top of my list, but who knows what will happen? Maybe, maybe I'll get one, maybe I won't. I could still have a good national without coming home with one of those two. But this is a card again, what do I need for it? I mean, somewhere between a one and a half and a two and a half, I would think. I don't want anything that. To me, the key on this card is obviously his face and the kind of scowl that he's got, which is such a cool image. I want it to be neat. It has to be pretty well centered. It could have a crease, but it can't have a crease anywhere near his. His upper body to the top of his head. There is one available. I. I don't want to get into too many details. There are, there are a couple that are available right now, one of which I know you, I know for a fact you're aware of that. So we'll see. But this would be, this would be a great pickup for me at the National. Also an Important part, when it's a solid color like that or two solid colors that background can't have. Like something that detracts your eye Right. From like the background. Yeah, the one solid and bright. Right. I will say yes. But being yellow, less so than if it were red or like the deep blue or the purplish one, like the burgundy being a lighter color, if there was a little bit of paper loss, you know, where there's a little white spot kind of up here, I would be kind of okay with that. Versus if it was a red, a deep red, like his red portrait, I would be less okay with it. So, yeah, that's where I'm at. All right, so your five thousand dollar card is. I don't remember. Okay, go ahead and tell people listening about the card. Yeah, I have, I actually have a lot of cards that are in this price range that I've been looking for for a very long time. I could have chosen either. Oh, I put in a 34 Lou Gehrig Gowdy card and it's the yellow one that looks like Alec Baldwin. I like the turquoise one just as much. I really don't care which one of those. And, and to tell you the truth, the 33 Gowdy is a. Is relatively in the same ballpark. Man, that card's probably gone up a little bit extra, that 33 gouty and an obnoxious way. But that's also on my list. All three of those Garrett cards are important. It's. It's sad that I don't have a Garrett card that I love, but it's because they're just very tough to find, centered with nice color in low grades. For all of those cards, I would be happy with any of those if I were to come up at the national with any of those three I have purchased. At the last national, when all of my cards that were on my top of my list, I did not find. I settled for a 33 Gowdy that was beautiful, but had a blue mark next to his face. And it bugged me and I looked at it every single time and I literally sold it within 30 days of me buying it. Thankfully, I got a good deal, so I was able to make a profit on it. But when I bought it, I thought I could live with it and I couldn't. So I'm on the lookout. I'm on the prowl for a good garrig. Has to look nice, perfectly centered. And that's, that's part of my hunt. I. As you know, I picked up the. The green kind of aqua one at the Strongsville show, and the yellow one has always actually been my favorite of his cards. So this card remains high on my list. And the 33 Gowdy also remains high on my list, and I could have very easily chosen either one of those for my pick as well. But again, I probably have a. A dozen cards that I'd really like to get at this price point. So you submitting your pick first and picking this card made it easy for me to go a different direction, so. Oh, this could have been on that. There's a. It could have been. This could have been my Choice for the $5,000 pick, too. Yeah. And by the way, I am so picky with this card. Like, I mean, I. I see 50 of them, and I don't like any of them. Greg's green. I would love to have that card. It's a. It's an amazing, amazing copy. Your turquoise. That's what I'm looking for, is a version that looks like that. That's nice of you. All right, let's take a look at the $10,000 pick. So this will be David Chase going first. 10,000. I mean, we're talking a massive card at this point. We are. Are. I mean, this is beyond my national budget unless I brought some trade bait with me to add to my money. So I. I wouldn't say it's impossible that I bought a $10,000 card, but I would have to use all. All of my budget, and I would have to also part with a couple of fairly significant cards in order to make this happen. So this is the last price point of this exercise where the card in question has any chance of maybe in a rare circumstance, being realistic for me. Okay. So. But you're going to go first. Yeah. So you just showed a 1948 Bowman Mike in card. Now, I also want to talk about 10,000. I'm not belittling this amount of money. Okay. I have one time bought a card that was over this dollar amount, and it's because I sold the cards to get there, so it was literally no money out of pocket for me when I ended up doing it. It's basically like a trade. So, yeah, this is one of those situations, but I do have card capital that it could happen if the right situation came up. And I love this card, and I don't even know why I love it because it's a hobby grail. I don't really even know much about Mike. And as a player, as sad as that is, but it is really when I think of vintage basketball cards and I get outside of the Jordan rookie Magic Bird card, right, The Chamberlain, right. Like this is for me the iconic basketball card of all time. And yes, he looks like he's a nerd. That is dribbling very awkwardly, but that's part of the charm of it. I don't know why I love this card, but I feel like it's just, it represents vintage basketball to me. You know, I think it's his belt. I think the belt that he's wearing is, is really the best part of the card. What job do you think he would have if he wasn't a basketball player? By looking at him. I mean, he definitely was an accountant before basketball. Yeah, he was like an accountant. And I mean like just look at him dribbling. Like he looks like he's so non athletic but he like, he was massive card in a very cool way. He was massive. And it was a game changer for basketball having a dominant big man down low which led to more dominant big men down low. All right, my choice. I wanna. If you know, like, it's like the people who are looking for a house and they're saving for a house and then as they're saving, the, the price of the houses are going up faster than they're saving. So you're trying to attain a level and every time you turn around you're actually further away from obtaining the item than you were when you started saving for it. And. And I've shouted this card out many times. I've talked about how much I like this card many times. And I'm getting further from owning it. And it's the 52 tops. Jackie. When I first said I'd love to have this card and I first started talking about how I think and I've said this and, and it's not that I have any influence on what happens with prices because I don't think that I do. I. I think I. I don't even know why I say these things to say myself. I want to hear it. I think this might be the most undervalued and underappreciated card in the entire hobby. Has so much room to run, it's insane. The fact that the Mantle costs what the Mantle cost and this also not a rookie card, is so much cheaper. They're both high numbers. This is the best looking Jackie card. It's the best looking Jackie Robinson card. It comes from the most important set of all time. It is literally on the production page next to the Mantle, which is arguably the most important card in the entire hobby. And I don't know why I continue to shout its praises when I don't have one. But if you want a Jackie card, there's the rookie, which is his rookie, but this is the best looking Jackie card and unfortunately I think I'll never obtain it because it's not going to become more affordable. And there are so many issues with this set. There's, there's. They're pretty much. It was pretty much always printed with an, with a diamond cut. Like, they basically don't exist with a diamond cut unless they were trimmed. It's always off center. It's always got tons of snow. It's always got issues. And so I'm either going to get a copy of my appeal, copy that is just a copy to have a copy, or I'm never going to own. It's going to have tape marks and pinholes and writing on it or I'm never going to own it. And I have a feeling I'm probably never going to own it, which breaks my heart because it is such an incredible card. You have yelled at me for saying that I'm never going to own something, Greg. And, and I. How dare you say that over and over again. Right? You just aren't buying it. Now. It is going to happen. Okay, if, if you, if there's a. This is. This budget, by the way, is one that you said could feasibly happen. Okay, but one. But, but, but this card at 10,000. I don't know if I would be okay owning the one that I could get for 10,000. Like there, there are. You have to remember that there's a lot. There are weird scenarios out there where you can. And I. The car. Don't say that. It's not. How dare you. You yell at me for saying that and now you're saying that about this card. But I get it because, man, I love this card. And for some reason I don't always think about this card. But if I were to rank all of my cards in my collection, this is my favorite card that I own. Better than the 48 Leaf. Jackie, I have. I love my version of this card and I, I paid for it at the time a couple years ago more than I've ever bought a card by triple. And at that time I couldn't, I was like, I can't buy a card this expensive. It was, it was that expensive. And I called my dad and I showed him the version of the card and we've never split A card before, and we've never split one after. And we split this card to buy it, to make it where we can both have. It's the only card we share, and I love it, and I love my version. And the dealer, John Irwin, my buddy who I bought it from, he's offered to buy it back for me for a significant amount more. But it's one of those. It's one of those diamonds. It's a PSA two and a half. I ended up getting the sticker on it. But it is. It's an incredible version that every time I look at it, it, like, it brings a lot of emotion towards me. And it's probably the only card in my collection that I would never upgrade. I can't see myself doing it. So I get it, and I am. I. You will get this card. I'm telling you. You will get it. Okay? Just hold out hope. All right? Get rid of some of those T206 portraits looking on the wall at a lot of card capital. Get rid of all those, like, those hall of Famers that I've never heard of before. Wait, we're gonna run out of time, Greg, because you. I know. I just was about to say to you, like, I can't believe how fast this time has gone. And for some reason, this 52 is lower, by the way. I think the pop count on this. Don't hold me to this, because I haven't looked for a very long time, but is like half of what the mantle is. I know it's significantly less than how many mantles there are. I don't want to talk about this card anymore. Okay. Sorry. You're gonna. I. I'm. Man, I want you to get that card so badly.
