Welcome back to the Hobby Chop Podcast. This is the podcast for the people. I am Big Ken. He is zip. Zip. How you doing, my friend? I'm doing great. I'm doing absolutely great. How was the hobby for you last week? For the last. Well, I would, I did a show last weekend. I did. It was good. It was good. I did EC3 at Mohegan Sun. I just did Saturday, but it was definitely. I did a recap on the, on my solo, but it was definitely good. I was able to sell a bunch of stuff that I never thought I was gonna sell, which is. Oh, that's always a positive. And you know, I had some nice pickups, so I was happy. I mean we, we. I, I tend to. And most of the hobby tends to measure, measure the hobby in, in sales and purchases, but there's so much more than just that. I, I guess. I'm kidding. Yeah, of course there's more than that. Yeah, I, I agree. I think it's important to make relationships because they can be good for both people involved, especially down the line when you get stuff that you know someone will want and vice versa, it always works out. Absolutely. I, I got my, I got our, our show. I have to say our show because my wife does it with me. Our North Haven card show. I have that put together. I put it up on Treasure. Started doing some advertising. I don't know, I don't know if you're familiar where I think people are though. The first show we were just selling, you know, selling our own of the tables ourselves. But now we've, we've set up with on Treasure and you can go right through their website and purchase the tables. Oh, nice. For the show. So yeah, it, and, and it's kind of a really cool website if you really take the time. Like at first when I looked at it, I'm like, okay, yeah, this thing's okay, you know, but then, you know, once my wife dug into it and she's pretty computer savvy too. She, she, we figured out a lot of things in there, so it was kind of cool. So we got that, got it all up and running today and we've already sold, we've already sold some tables, so. Super excited. Very good. When's the next show? It is October 10th. It's Columbus weekend. 1010. Nice. 10, 10, 26. Nice, nice, nice, nice. Yeah. So if you're interested, you're looking for a table, there's six and eight foot tables available. Not many eight foots, definitely more six foots. But it's on Treasure.com and just search, search North Haven Card show and you will, you'll pull it up. Hello, Michael from East End Entertainment NY1. How are you today, sir? How's it going, Michael? So I, I actually got to do some hobby stuff this week. Come on a little bit before you start. I heard you hit a milestone. That's. That was pretty cool. I did hit a milestone. So net sales on just PC sports cards that I've been using for like last year And a half, two years, I hit 200k, say net sales. So that was pretty cool. So. And as I switch to just higher end cards that hopefully that just keeps going up and up quicker and quicker. So that'd be awesome. Get like a free cruise or something when you hit sports cards. I got a thumbs up emoji. I got a thumbs up emoji and nice job. Keep it, keep, keep them coming. Yeah, exactly. And I, I sent them a, I sent them a box they got today. There's probably like $10,000 worth of cards. So I'm continuing to keep, keep it coming to them. So yeah, they're. There's your free advertisement yet again. So aside from that though, since I've said time and time again, I have no time to go buy collections like I used to because I used to have a remote job and I would just take a long lunch break and go meet up somewhere and buy cards from someone. Now I, I don't have that luxury, but I have a cool boss at the golf course and on my lunch break I had someone pull up. I spent $5,500 in the parking lot on a card collection which, which was great. And the main, I would, the main piece of this card collection was something that was outside of my lane and outside of my comfort zone. I was a little worried about. It was a 2020 NFL National Treasures Hobby box, which is, I don't really do ax. And then the one time I buy a box, it's, it's a banger. It's kind of, kind of a big box. Yeah. Probably the biggest box I've ever purchased. Right. So. And then there was that some pretty nice slabs and then three huge value boxes and they're like the, the hard plastic ones. Value boxes that like fit top. They, they're actually really nice. The value boxes. Yeah, I saw, I saw them in the back here. Yeah. So you. They're sweet and they're full of a bunch of Bowman autos, some football rookies, basketball. Like they're, they're really nice boxes too. Bowman Baseball autos. Yeah. Yep. And with that collection, I. I bought it pretty easily. Guy was really nice. Drove down on my lunch break, which. Which I said. Which I wouldn't have been able to buy it if he didn't. And then was like, how am I. What am I gonna do to sell this? Because then I had the National Treasures hobby box. So I was like, oh, maybe I'll just put this on Golden. Because everything I know how to usually sell is just cards rather than wax. So I really, like, I bought it because it was a good deal. And then honestly, I was like, I'll figure it out. And usually. Usually when I'm buying stuff, I have an exit plan. Like, I know. I know what I'm doing with it, especially when I'm spending that much money. For me, it was a decent bit of money to buy a collection. So what I ended up doing was on Father's Day, I. I made a goal. We had a lunch reservation for, like, 12:30. I was like, I'm gonna walk around EC3 Con for, like, a couple hours in the morning and see what. See what happens. And you saw this too. But I had. The National Treasures box was in, like, this hard plastic case for the box. I don't know how to describe it other than that, but it was. It was nice. Yep. So what I'm. What I was doing was I'm. I just. I walked around the. The show basically holding this NT box in this clear, like, plastic. But, like, I didn't say I didn't make the first move. It was almost like you're dating, right? Like, I didn't make the first move. I. I let people go, oh, my God. What is that thing? You know, because every. Because no one sees that box just floating around anymore. That's not, you know, that's. It's not like I'm walking around with a prism hobby or whatever, right? Like, yeah, it's NT and it's 2020 for football, which is, you know, a great, historic year for football cards. So I'm walking around with it. I want to talk about two. Two conversations about this box, because one did not result in a deal and one did. So obviously, the. The first one that did not result in a deal, it was this. It was this older gentleman, and his kid was with him. Probably, like, kid was probably 13, 12, 13. Kid was sharp, really sharp. And they had. They had some slabs. They had some wax at the show. And I was just walking up with it. It caught their attention, and they're like, hey. They're like, Are you selling? That was like, yep, I'm here to sell it. Were they at a table? Were they set up? Yeah, yeah, they were. They were set up as, as a dealer and they were talking to me and they brought up, you know, they're like, oh, well, it's not in a sealed case. You know, who knows if the case hit, got hit and yada, yada, what. Valid, totally valid reason, but they still wanted it, obviously. That's just like, if you're a buyer, you're gonna talk it down. If I'm a seller, I'm gonna talk it up. That's kind of just how it goes. So the, the difference is they don't know me and what I do and how I do it. And that if I didn't sell that box, then there, it wouldn't mean a damn thing because I would have put it on golden and it would have done just fine. But so we're sitting there talking and I'm just letting them talk, and they had a 20, 24, first off the line, Spectra Hobby box that they wanted to do like half trade, half cash out. I'm like, I'm like, I was like, I get it's, I, I get it's first off the line, but I, you know, and I, and I was like, I personally love Spectre, which, you know, that too. My favorite PC card is the Spectra Gold Tatum. But I was like, I'm not, I'm not trying to trade out of this for Spectra. You know, it's nt like, it's, it's. And then what they did have though was they had tops 2024 Topps Chrome update Baseball, which has the, the debut patches. So that is a really good product. And, and, and a jumbo of that product. That box is like $2,400 now, which is crazy. I, I can't believe that. But it's like $2,400. So. And I was, I was like, okay, we can work. Let's try to make a deal off of this. I was like, I'll take that as half trade. And then, you know, you get me the rest of the cash and get me around four grand. That's why I said, give me around four grand. Just, you know, split the difference with cash. And he's like, he's like, oh, yeah, so we'll do this at 2400. We'll value your box at 4K and then I'll give you 80% cash difference. And I was like, nah. He's like, well, I gotta make something. And you know, What? I said. I said something that a lot of people who are walking a show will not say. And I literally said, oh, what, because you have a table? Is that why you're gonna make something? I was like, I gotta make something. I just bought this yesterday. And dude was just like, yeah, well, you know, you didn't pay for a table. I paid for. I mean, he. Dude paid 400 for that table. Yeah, I'm not giving him a 20 cut on an NT20. You shouldn't break his stones because he. He's trying to. No. Get a better deal. I wasn't breaking the stones. I was. I was just. I was just putting him back on his heels. Like, he offered me 80%, so I'm like. I'm like, well, I'm not. I was like, why should I give you a deal because you have a table? And he said, oh, I have to make something. I was like, I have to make something. I. I don't think. That doesn't mean. That doesn't mean anything to me. That's such a. That's such a. I think that's such a lame excuse of I have a table. I made people pay 400 to get a table there. I don't think that means. I don't think that means. I mean, you could. I mean, you could have just said, all right, I'm all set. Like, no, because the negotiation was still there. So we were talking and like, if he's gonna do 100 trade. I was like, trying to talk to him do trade and then at anyways if his old out, which was fine. So I'm walking around. I'm actually about to go. This is like the last table I walked up on, and this guy had full case of national treasures. Like one full case of National Treasures. RPAs all raw. I'm like, okay, this is interesting. Then the next one has a bunch of, like, case hits and all football stuff. And I look up and he looks at this box and he's like. He's like, whoa, what is that thing there? I'm like, 2020 NT, you know, the whole thing. And he's like. He's like, are you selling that? I was like, I am. I was like, are. Are you. Are you interested in buying this? He's like, he's like, absolutely. He's like, you see the case? I was like. I was like, yeah, that's. That's why I stopped here. And pretty much we start talking back and forth, and he just gave me that number I wanted in cash because it is an item like, all right. And the reason I said the first story, too, because I totally get where that guy's coming from. And I, I mean, I got it at even better number than that, what that guy got it at. But just because I did doesn't mean I'm gonna give that number. And I think that's the whole thing. It's like, we, if for me, when I'm buying and selling these items, it's like, if I'm going to make it profitable and make it worth my while, I have to have a firm line in this, in the sand, regardless of who has a table and who doesn't have a table. Absolutely valid. Doesn't matter. Absolutely valid. Everything you say there, I, I agree 100% what you're saying. But I think first of all, so, so many, so many people in the hobby have their own idea of what's fair, right? So him at his table thinking, hey, I can do this trade, but I'm only getting 80 cash. That's the way I do business. So that to him is fair, Right. But you saying to him, why, why do you need to make money because you bought, paid for your table? I, I, I think that's not a very good response. I think there's so many different responses that you could make. I've had people say to me, oh, just because you paid for this table, you think you can, you can charge me more or something like that. And I'm like, I'm selling a product, right. And I'm selling it for what? I agree, what I think is, is a fair price on it. I wouldn't, I know you're looking at reading the thing, seeing everybody's agreeing with you. Yeah. But still, being a person of the hobby, I don't think saying to somebody, why do you have to make money because you paid for a table? I, I don't think that's a good response. I think there's a hundred other responses you could have from that. But just because you paid for a table, I, I don't, don't think that's a, personally, I mean, I'm not as someone who has a card show sets up as a dealer all the time, I'd be like, I'd be like, all right, yeah, I'm all set. Like, the conversation's done. If you're coming at me because I'm trying to do business here and I've paid for my table, and you're going to hold it against me because I paid 400 for my table, then our conversation is done. Because we're never going to see eye to eye. And obviously you didn't either because you didn't get the deal done with the guy. No, because he wasn't going to budge on it. So I was pretty much like, putting my line in the sand of, like, here's my number. This is where I'm going to be at. I was like, if we do trade at that number, that's okay. If we do trade in cash at that number, that's okay. I was giving him options, but it kept coming to, well, I need to make money, and if that's the case, that's fine. Obviously, it's the case for, like, everyone. So it's like, I need to make money too, so, like, let's just do the deal. And it was because he, he was leading on that. It was like, yeah, you're, you, you're at this. I'm at this for this box, but then I'm gonna throw in this cash and then just. It's not going to be at that value anymore. So that's, that's what I kind of felt like. But also, I get what you're saying because you go to shows and stuff a lot. But also, I think if, like, not. I think I know if the people going to the shows had enough education of where they could actually get the numbers with not shows, people would not be as willing to sell stuff, like, at shows. I truly believe that. Like, like, if, if, if people knew you could just go to these consigners and sell stuff for the number that you want, they'd probably do that a lot more. And, and. But also, I got mine to cash number. Like, like, let's be clear about that. The last sales on that hobby box were 4400 and 5700, Ken. So I was being more than fair at 4K. So I also had that hard line in the same. Yeah, yeah. I'm not. There's also that I'm not. You're. You're there to do business too. You're just doing it a different way. And, And I'm not. I'm not coming at you because I felt that you should be paying this guy or accepting 80%. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying when you, when you turn the conversation to, to why, why? Why? Do you know why? Something about why. Why do you think you have to make money? Because. Because you paid for that table. I, I just think that's a. To me, I, I, as a dealer, been doing this for six years now. I think it's a poor response. And I just want to ask, I want to ask Peterborough Sports Cards and Jeremiah Wilson, are you guys dealers? I mean, both of you guys just agreed with him 100. You felt like he was right to for that comment. And I'm just curious, are you guys dealers in the hobby? Because I know a lot of people hate dealers in the hobby. There's a lot of people who just dislike dealers and dislike 85 and 90 and all this, all this other stuff. And I was just, I'm just curious. The interaction also wasn't disrespectful, though. Like, it really wasn't. And also, like, from someone on the other side, I literally could just go, like, like what you said is about the 80. It's like that I'm coming at him because he has a table. It's, he's coming at me because I don't have a table, and I should then take that 80. So it's the same thing. I just have the cajones enough to say it. Like, truthfully, like, I will just flat out say it again. I, I don't think it's cajones. I, I, it's just, just me. Just me. I, I just don't think, I don't think many dealers in the room think that, you know, they ex. There's an expectation of purchasing something at their table because I paid for the table and you didn't. Because I, I, I negotiate. If I see a card that I want, I'll work. If there's something, I'll pay up for the card, right? If, if I really want the card. If not, I don't. And I've had, I've had people there get mad at me, like, oh, why? Why? You know, I'll make an offer on a card and immediately they get mad at me. Well, what do you think? Because you, you bought the table, you can rip me off? Or they come in with that type of attitude and I'm like, who's rip. Who's ripping you off? I, you're telling me a card, I'm making an offer on it. If you don't like the offer, that's fine. Has nothing to do with how much I paid for my table, right? I mean, I do this at every show. If this, if it's not a good, if I'm not making a good business decision, paying for the table, then I wouldn't, if it doesn't work out for me, I wouldn't pay for the table. I would just go walk the show and Sell my cards to everybody at the table. Right. Yeah. I, I, I also like, I guess I left that too. I followed up with like yeah, the last on golden did this number and that number. So it's like, you know, I was like, you know, it doesn't really make sense for me to take less it and, and it's more I'm not going to, I'm not going to say it's probably a scarce product because you could probably find it if you go search for it. But here it is in your in hand. Right? Here it is 90 of the last sale. Yeah. You don't less than the sale before that. And what is it? Dave and Adams has boxes at 6400 a piece. Yeah. What I'm saying is you don't have to like worry is the box been open? Has it been reclosed? Has it been resealed anything? Like you're looking at the box, you get to examine the box. So, so that should be worth something. Right. So I just want to read some of these responses. I guess a lot of people are kind of where I was at too with it. Is that the price I was giving like was way more than fair. So like, like. Yeah. Yeah. So Jeremiah Wilson. Nope. I never set up. I just walk my opinion. The cost of the table is the price of admission. To have thousands of people walk past me and look at my stuff. Sports car is the hobby. I think Zip's price was more than fair to start. Absolutely. I did not debate that. If you walk around you have to be at the right place at the right time to make a deal. Happened to make that deal too, by the way. Peterborough sports cards. However, as a dealer, I wouldn't have responded with the 80% to make money, especially if the comps were at what they were. Yep. Very valid. Zip. The, the, the the prez001 zip. All you had to say was that it's not not the price I can sell it for. Yeah. And that, I mean I gotta be honest though, that was like after I was there for like a good half hour. Yeah. And it was being around the bush and yeah. Jeremiah Wilson. True. Maybe the way Zip said it was not right. Not the right way to say it, but I've heard a lot worse from the dealers from behind the table. Yeah. And that. And that I agree 100 too. So, so, so look, part of today before we get to the popper chop. Right. So, so part of, part of the episode today it is hobby relationships. Right. I mean it's, it's when we're talking about relationships in the hobby and everything we've talked about here is dealing with people that we kind of don't know. Right. And I think this is super important for you too. But you know, relationships is not just money or cards, right. To drive long term success in, in, in, in, in the, the card community. Right. So even, no, we're all here, you know, we're all doing this to make something. There's a reason we're here. If we, if it was costing us money, if we were losing money, we wouldn't be doing, we, we'd go off and do something else. I mean, that's the obvious, right? But if you have good relationships in the hobby, right, you're going to be successful. It's the key to all this success in the hobby. I mean you, you have certain people you've done business with, you've obviously done well by them because they keep calling you back, right? They keep coming back with, you know, with cards and things like that. You know, I set up at shows, I have people come, bring me cards, say these are the, you know, the cards that I'm bringing for you. I have dealers at shows like when I set up that other dealers will say, oh, bring that, bring that to my guy, Big Ken over there, that that's a card he would want to buy. And I do that for other. There's certain things that I don't deal with, but I know, you know, other people in my closer circles that do, I'll send them that way. So a lot of this stuff, a lot of the, these relationships in the hobby and how important they, you know, important they are for us to be successful whether we're doing shows or you're not doing shows, you, you're working 95 hours a week and getting paid for some of them and hours a hobby and make money on it, right? Yeah. But also like, I think if I set up as a dealer, I would probably kill it, honestly, because I used to do it like if I was there doing that, like, I don't know, it's. I will say the, the one, the one thing I would like to preface, it's not that I'm anti show, it's that I'm pro. As many eyes as you can get on your item to get the best number you can. And that's why I like ebay and the consigning stuff so much. The ability for me to buy that big collection and then sell that box in two slabs and literally be profitable off of three items out of the several thousand items that were in that collection within a day. I can't do that online. Or I mean, I could do it online, but I can't do that on through consignment and I can't get cash in hand like that. Straight up cash, which was that, that was, was awesome. And also, especially that. I don't know. There, there's some, there's clearly something to that with the fast cash. Because if I was set up as a dealer, then I would have like, like, like all this money in cash. If people could just be walking up and I could be buying their stuff at 80 or better. Clearly that's what, why, why can't you get it 80 for 80%? Because you paid for the table. Because I paid for a table. That's right. That's right. The thing is too, is like, I wasn't even offended. I just like, I'm gonna play the game like, like I'm going to mirror what someone is going to come at me with in an, like, like a, like a negotiation. Like, I'm not, yeah. I'm not gonna like falter over a guy like saying. Because like, it was, it was the talking down. I think. Like, I think some things were just left out. And you as a dealer got fixated on, oh, I made fun. I stopped that. He had a table, he was beating down on the product, was like trying to say how all these, this box wasn't worth this, this, this or that. And then on top of it, it was kind of like the last draw of 80% because I gotta make money. As if like my, my time, like, I've been Sitting here for 30 minutes, I waited for your kid to come back and you can chat and this is great. It's Father's Day, have fun. And it's like, yeah, we're gonna get this deal done and I'm gonna cut it out from you when you're, when your price is at 90% of the lowest sale of like the last like year. So it's like, I don't know, like. And you know what though? He was, he was a, he was a, he was a, a good dealer in the sense of like, he knew his stuff and business wise, like, I get it. It's just like I wasn't gonna stand there, around there and think like, oh, I'm just gonna let you push, push me because this is a friendly show, not gonna be a pushover. There's many other things I could say. Right. And it's also too, it's like, like, could you do the same thing. Like, I, I've been with you buying and selling cards. I mean, if you've got a good card, you're gonna pump it up, right? Well, yeah, you're gonna convince somebody why they tried to do it with me at Causeway when, When I had the lower end autos. And you're like, oh, you know, I gotta, I gotta sell these at National. And I gotta. I'm like, oh, that's good for you, man. I can't do that. You know? And that was like. You know what else he said when he said the 80? I was like. I was like, dang, man. Is that, Is that what I sounded like? Like, will you do how you just imitated me right there? Is that what I sounded like? Like, literally, I bought like five cards straight up from you. And there were other, There were other cards. You wanted 100 comps and I said, fine, you could keep them. I don't, I don't think it was everything. It was everything at 85. And you did buy five at 85. Yeah, yeah. And the other, the other way, 85. And you're like, no. And I'm like, okay, that's fine. But I just lost my train of thought with that. Oh, no. He was like, oh, Yeah. I mean, 80. 80, you know? Yeah. And I was like, 80. I was like, on an NT 2020 hobby box, I was like, that's a great deal. I was like, I would do that too. That's why. That's what I said to him. I would do that too, man. That's a great deal. Yeah. It's like, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna do? Let people just like, how are you gonna make money? Well, no, I mean, if you came in and said, hey, look, the last one sold at 5200 and I'm selling at $4000. I think most anybody in the room would have been like, okay, that's an easy $1200 if it's selling at 5200. Someone did that. Yeah. So. But. But the other guy didn't seem to think it was worth that. The first. Yeah, you know, it was a 4400 and a 5700. Yeah. So to each his. To each his own. And then the case sold at 40600 a box, so. And remember, in the hobby, your rep reputation is your brand, right? It's. It's how you do business too, is. Is what your brand is. So if you're consistent of what you do, then people know, right? They know what to expect from you. And if you've got. If you've got a good reputation in the hobby. Right. So you don't. You don't get out two shows much, but you're dealing with people outside, you know, like through Facebook, Marketplace and things like that. You're. You're kind of one and dones right with people unless they're repeat sell. I mean, I know you have a couple repeat sellers. I have. Yeah. I. I mean, I like. Other than like the, the singles I've kind of like plucked here and there. Like, I usually. I'm not really searching for cards right now. They're kind of just coming in my inbox at this point because I've bought enough in the last year. So it is relationships. Like, I do have people that like. And. And I'm at the point now where people are messaging me with collections and they know the numbers and there's not really negotiation. They just know what they're gonna get from me, and that's that easy. So. But that's also like after like year and a half of doing this, so. And do you think that the, the first guy you went to that was lowball, lowballing you? I'm just gonna go right to the low balling you. Do you think that's the way he. He is successful in his business? Do you think he was good at what he was doing and do you think most people may have agreed to pay that low price, or do you think he was bad at what he was doing and getting worse with you? So I don't have any animosity towards this person. I actually, like I said, no, no, I don't. I don't mean that. I mean, just, you know, his, you know, how he was handling the situation. Yeah, I think a lot of. I think a lot of people would have taken his offer because he made a bunch of valid points. He was respectful. And like, I said it tongue in cheek too. I didn't say it like, I don't know. I feel like you got more offended than he did when I said it, to be honest. I really do. Like, I was like, oh, Jesus. Yeah. No, like, it was really, I gotta stick up for the dealers, whatever. That's fine. Yeah. So, like, I, I think he's fair. And also, like, I think it's like, I'm not expecting these great deals I get. Unless you saw many cards I took. Ken, most people don't want to do that. I just want to say that yet again. And you know that because, yeah, me and you have talked when you're like search for those deals. I well, well it's not always like more recently because before like we would been talk there's been times you consult with me and be like how are you getting the prices on this? And you're like I want this, this and that. You're like I want these cards. And they had like whatever, however many cards. You're like, I want these cards for this price. I was like, well you got to take all of that to get that price and that, that's how it works for me. And I as a dealer, I think you're more apt to be able to get the select cards you want at the target price than I would be in like outside of a deal. And that's why I'm taking so much. But also that low end and what I say low end is like $50 and under. I'm really getting for like throw in prices a lot of times and if you have that much bulk at throw in and you just send it out to consignment, you it really can, can make up the difference. That's, that's the big difference for me. Like if, because I get it if you're a dealer because the guy in his case, he probably had like 20 cards, 20 slabs in a full case and they were like all like graded case sets. You know what I mean? Like you could, you could, you could picture the case. There was space in between the cards. You know what I mean? So I get that business model too because it's not as, it's not as much work. And I don't mean that in a negative way. I mean that positively. Like I don't love doing all this work. I think I did. I, I sent you a picture of my coffee table with all the cards I had to pick out that were sellable. Right, Sellable. So like there's that too. And, and that's why like I get the prices I do is because I'm willing to do that. And I don't know and it's not even that I think I deserve it. It's just like I think there's an understanding of overall value price cut to this aggressive buying percentage. Aggressive meaning in my favor, right? Because it is so much undesirable crap with the good crap. Like I truly mean that because the cards I brought are, the cards I brought were a PSA, a LeBron James Bowman Chrome rookie card and SGC 910 auto Justin Herbert Immaculate RPA Gold out of 25 like the true and an NT box though like I didn't, I didn't bring any of that other stuff. I brought the cream of the crop items to the, the show because I felt how targeted dealers would be, they would want that. Did you sell those other cards at the show too? Yeah. Oh, nice. Did you go, did you go to the very first one when you walk in that said paying 100? Did you go to that one or did you go. I don't think I did. I don't think there's a massive sign when you walk through the main door right there, front setter and said big sign, big banner, paying 100%. Wow, I wonder how that works out. How can you go wrong there, right, as a seller? I don't, I don't know how it goes wrong as the. Is that like, was it false? Is it not false marketing? What? Not if they're paying it. I mean, I don't know. I didn't go over there to see. That's true. If you have a repack that you can just. Yeah, I mean I'll tell you what, the re the repackers in that room are paying very strong. Like I, I've dealt with repackers before where they come in and they, you know, they go ah, the last one sold at this. We'll do that, we'll do that, we'll do that. The ones I dealt with came in, they lined them up, they looked up and they were. And I recomp myself 95. Yeah, like, like are you kidding me? 100. I'm gonna take this. I got on that Herbert, I got 86 or 87 of a PSA 9 comp of my SGC 9. So I was like, and, and mine was a napkin patch versus a four color patch. I was like, yeah, I'll take that at 12.50 for that card. I, I was like, yeah, thank you. Zwitterball cards. Welcome. He said, wait, I got here late. Did you buy the 2020 NT box from Facebook recently? I think I feel like I saw that post. I'm sure you did see that post is in ct Sports cars and Collectibles, the Facebook group. I snagged it four minutes it was posted. Jeremiah Wilson. I love Causeway but hard to make deals. I go to the local mall shows, can make deals all day long. You know what? Both sides of the table. The thing I love about Causeway is just so many people selling at Causeway and just so many really cool things that, that come through the door over there at Causeway show. Funny. I had a. Funny. You know, speaking of relationships, I had a Funny situation. I had a guy reach out to me, so a guy I know is a listener, you know, that, you know, we've done deals in the past. He kind, it's kind of taken a year off from the hobby. But just before he took some time off, he had some cards for sale. I drove up to Massachusetts, you know, like an hour half up there, paid strong, and a bunch of cards. Just a good hobby relationship, right? So he contacted me, said, hey, I'm looking for some of these cards. Do you have them? And I said, look, this is what, this is what I have. And, and, you know, we, we just didn't get a deal done, you know, but I know, you know, I know he had a bunch, he had a lot of cards. But he came to the Causeway show, and somewhere between the time we talked and the episode that you and I did, I said, I have cards here that I feel are undervalued. So when people ask me if I have them, and I say no, because if I'm not selling them, why would I take them out? But in his, his mind, he came to me and said, so do you really lie to people? And I said, wait, what? And he said, lie to people? Like, did you lie to me and tell me you didn't have those cars, but you do have those cars? I said, it's not really lying to you. I said, I have cars that I'm not selling right now. It's not available. You don't have. Not selling that. Wow. Did you lie and say you. And I'm like, no, I did not lie. And then he left and, and I, I mean, I, I think we're fine. And he comes back and he says, all those cards I brought, I sold to those two people over there. If you'. I'm like, oh, now you're mad at me? Because, you know, apparently, because you're a dealer on that side of the table, Ken. Yeah. Yeah, that's why, dude. So, I mean, because you think you should be making the money, Ken, and you're lying to people. That's it. Boom, boom. Because I, I, I could lie to people because I pay extra for the tables. But you know what? It, it's, it's, it's funny how fast things can change with certain people, right? Certain relationships in the hobby can change very quickly from a comment or something said or even an offer, even an offer on a car. Like if someone comes to sell, if you show up to my table to sell me a card, and somebody, I don't know shows up to my Table to sell me a card. I mean, that. That negotiation and conversation is going to be completely different. Right. Because. Because I know you. We have history. We've done business before. I know. I know where the sweet spot is with you. You know where the sweet spot is, is going to be with me. If I don't know you, you come up. I need to start at a certain place and work my way up. I. If I come. Come out shooting at 95, you're gonna want 100%, right? Yeah. I feel like me and you actually, I was just gonna say, have a really good, like, I mean, obviously friendship, but. But, like, hobby, relationship, too, where, like, we know where each other needs to be at, and it's kind of. No. Like, there's no animosity if we can't get there. Like. Like the low end. The low end stuff that we were talking about that we didn't get done. You both know. No. And you went and sold it to some right away yesterday. It was fine. And you. And you. And you knew that. You knew that, though. Like. Like. And. And also with. With the hobby box, I was like. I was like, if you don't. Could I mention this? Because I think this was great because it was not a big deal. Yeah, Yeah, I would. I. I got the box. I was like, oh, this is a great deal. I'm like, I texted Ken that we had this miscommunication. I texted Ken. I was like. I was like, hey, I wanted to give you a shot of this so you could have this at national. And Ken was like, oh, zip wants me to bring this box to national to sell for him, which I. I really appreciate that you would do that for me. So. So I. I pull up to Mohegan after I'm the ranger on the golf course all day, and it's pouring, and I have this box, and Ken. Ken has it. I'm like. I'm like, yeah, yeah. He hands it to me. I put it in the back of my car. In the car. We're just chatting. I'm like. I'm like, okay, it's raining. I'm gonna go. And like, I was like, can I have the money? Can I have the money? He's like, wait a minute. I thought you wanted me to take this and sell it for you. I didn't want. You want me to buy this, but at least I got to see all the other collection. Yeah, yeah, you got to see the collection live. Yeah, but. Yeah, but, like, we have the relationship where, like, I could see where, like, that could have been something that could have been blow. Like, I've. I've had it before with other people. It could get blown out of proportion. Like. Like, it's not a big deal because I had the best interest for you. You had the best interest for me at the end of the day, for that, you're like, yeah, dude, I'll bring it to national and probably sell it for six grand for you at National. Like, and then I'm like. I'm like, I'm doing all these deals. I was like, I. I always tell you, I was like, if I can get something cool that I can give to you and give you a good deal on something and try to make like, I want to be able to do that. And I was like, oh, this is the perfect time. But, you know, at the end of the day, that. That wasn't. That was it on the agenda, and that's totally fine. But, like, like you said, though, the context to our relationship matters. Like, we have a deep enough relationship and we've been friends long enough where, like, that miscommunication is easily just something to laugh at. It's not like a hard feeling thing whatsoever. Yeah. You know, but, like, like you said, like, that's someone you had done deals with before. It could. It's. It's that. Because relationships do matter. But I think you really don't know where a relationship stands until something kind of goes a little wrong. Yeah. Yeah. Everything. It's. It's the. Honey, it's the honeymoon phase. Whenever. When everything's business as usual, right? Like, what about when I have one of my. One of my, like, regular sellers, go, oh, yeah, I. I sold this other guy, but will you take the rest of the. The garbage I have? It's like. It's like, dude, I paid you, like, you know, a 20 down payment on a very nice house on the coast last year, buddy. Like, what are we doing here? Like, no, I'm not gonna take the crap. Like, yeah, yeah, it's. It's. You wonder. You wonder why weren't you thought of first? Right? And that's happened to me before. Like, I made deals. I paid strong on deals. And then somebody will call me like, oh, I got this stuff, and I'm like, okay. And then I go to get it, and they'll be like, oh, yeah, I got. It was. It was a bigger lot. I mean, I sold this stuff off. This is why I have left. I'm like, well, wait a minute. Like, why. Why didn't you think about me with the whole lot why was it only the, the, the backside? You know what was it the way I paid? Was it our negotiation? Like those are the things that run through your head. Like, you know, did you not know? I, I also buy the, the super, super good stuff. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. All right, so let's move on. We're gonna move on to the, the popper chop tonight. Michael, are you here? And I hope Michael is. Michael, are you still in the chat? Michael, get, give, give us a W in the chat. And it's not for watching. It is for Williams. Caleb Williams starting out. Pop or chop? Come on, Michael, I know you're here. Caleb Williams, pop or chop? What do you think, buddy? Pop. Dude, actually before we go into this, I still pop either way, but like it, this matters to me. What can we put a time frame on? So, so, so this very interesting you say that because I, I, that's exactly. And we haven't even talked, but that's exactly. On some of these players. I'm, I'm, I'm like a big time pop right now. Yeah. But, but come August, okay, I'm probably going to be a chop on, on a handful of these players. So are we gonna do like we're gonna do before kickoff on week one? Let's do that before kickoff, week one. Yeah. Chop. Okay. And then we can also say after kickoff, then he'll be then. Perfect. So Caleb before kickoff, week one pop. Caleb after kickoff, week one pop for me, maybe even after the national. I think Caleb's gonna be huge going into the national. Y. Yeah, he's absolute pop for me. I, I love what they're doing. He looked great. And with Ben Johnson, just like all the, all this, I'm sorry, all the stuff you're worried about, about Caleb, his rookie year like seemingly got better and better and better and I, I, I can't imagine that it's not going to keep going that way. He just looks excellent. He has so much talent. And I'll say that I feel like I've said this before. I swear to God, I've never seen someone throw a ball harder than when he rolls out. Do you know what I mean? Like when he rolls out and he just lets go, it looks like the, it looks like a four seam fastball in the mlb. Dude, he throws the ball so hard. It's crazy. And Peterborough sports cards like major pop all season. You know what? I think they're going to struggle early on. Just, just my thought, I think they're going to struggle New personnel, a lot of different Things going on over there with that team. I, I still. I agree everything you're saying, 100%. But I think the team as a whole may struggle at the beginning. Not saying that they're not going to put it together and maybe, you know, be able to, you know, make a playoff run later. But I think early on they may struggle. So I think he's the guy. His cars are going to be super hot. They're going to dip, and then they could rebound back. Okay, so. And. And Brock Purdy. Right. So here. Here's another one. Like, I. I can't say he's the same as Caleb Williams. I think he's a pop right through. But come kickoff, after kickoff time, I think you're going to see a big dip in his market as well. Well, I think a lot of these guys are going to dip, so if we're just going to go card market, that's different. As the player for the season, like, I. I see. I think the Niners are going to be really good, and I think Mike Evans is going to be a really big difference maker for Brock Purdy. I do. So I. I think I'm gonna go pop. Pop. Yeah. But like, the card market, like a lot of these guys, after week one, the hype is just gonna dissipate. Like, you know, that's just gonna happen a lot. Yeah. So I kind of. I agree with what you say there. I also think Brock Purdy's gonna have a pretty good season, though. I think he's a really good quarterback. So. Bo Nix, have you seen his leg? People say this, like, it looks like. It just looks so bowed out. Like my. My son had club foot, and Bo Nicks's leg looks way worse than that. Just gonna say that. My son had the double Achilles surgery and Bo Nix's leg looks way more concerning. That thing looks bowed, man. So are you. Are you chopping him? I'm popping him before week one, but I think I'm gonna go chop after week one. I. I don't. I don't see it for him now. I'm the opposite. I'm gonna pop, and then I'm gonna pop again. I think. I think they're gonna be. I think he's gonna play very well next year. I think they're. They're a team that's got it together in that division. I mean, I. Obviously, I'm a Chiefs fan, so I hope they don't do that that well, but I have a feeling they're going to do well. Well, I was just gonna Say, like, I don't think Bo Nix is that great, but I think he's in a great system, like the Broncos are a great system. So I don't think Bonix is that great, though. He looks great, so. Not that leg. Lamar Jackson. So tough man. Where's the chat? We got people. I need people in here in the chat telling me, popper, chop Lamar Jackson. You go first on that because I gotta think about this a little bit. Yeah, I, I think this is probably Ravens year this year. Now Peterborough says gotta chop Lamar, and I think the opposite. I don't. I think right now, going into the summer, I think on his cards and his market going into the National, I think it's probably more of a chop market, but I think it's going to be the reverse. I think they're going to. I think they're going to put it together this year. I think they're going to do very well. And I think if you. If I come back from the national and I have a chance to buy some of his cards away, I probably will. I. I think that's a great call. I think in terms of the. His market pre week one, I think it will be underwhelming and I, I think he has a real good opportunity to. To make some growth because it feels like, for, for me, it just feels like he's too good in the Ravens as an organization are too good to not make at least one year work. Like, I, I don't see him as winning more than one super bowl, but I see him winning one super bowl. Like, Like, I. It'd be crazy for them not to because they're actually a good organization. You know what I mean? Like the whole. Yeah. Yeah. Could. Could be. Could be next year. It's not like he's on the Dolphins. Not the Dolphins. I got a couple or three wide receivers for you. Oh, oh, wait a minute. We have one more quarterback. We have an addition here. You added that in. Tyler Murray. The chat will go wild now. Tyler Murray. I added that in there because I'm super high on Kyler Murray this year. I, I truly believe that he, like Sam Darnold, like Baker Mayfield, like all these quarterbacks and these horrible organizations just needed a place to. To thrive. And like, tell me this, Ken, is there a better. Like, are there better weapons on an offense than the Vikings overall? Like, it's kind of crazy. Well, it's funny you should add that in because you saw one of the wide receivers that I put up, so it's going to be interesting. What is Peterborough? Hold on. Vikings bias. I will say Pop, if he stays healthy. Yep. Ziggy says Murray is a solid gamble. Do you know who. Do you know who the three receivers are for Kyler Murray this year? Well, I know there was a new signing. That's the third one. You know the first two, right? Yeah. Jefferson and Addison. Yeah. Juwan Jennings from the Niners is their third receiver now. Okay. Yeah. And he's another really great across the middle guy. Yeah. When I. When you. I saw that Kyler Murray, you put him up there, I thought to myself, I mean, his old game was running for his life, right? Now he's got three. Well, you're. I was going to say two, but three. And they have a tight end out there, too. Hawkinson. Yeah. So, I mean, all he's got to do is be accurate throwing the ball and he could be a star, dude. And also, like, they have Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason running the ball. Don't you remember last year when I drafted Aaron Jones, what you told me? What did I say? You. You drafted his backup and said, that dude is so old, broken. But you know what? Jordan Mason got a lot of touches and it kept him. Kept him alive, though. Like. Like, Aaron Jones can go and catch the ball. Like, he's. He's excellent. So it's just like, that's a crazy good offense for him, man. The question is, is he going to be able to see over the line? Probably not because he's little. I love the. I love the videos. They're like, it looks like a toddler's running around once Kyler Murray. But no, like, in all seriousness, I think. Remember Doug Flutie? He ended up going to play your time, but he went to play in the Canadian League. But he would drop. Drop back and he would be jumping up and down because he had to jump over looking for. Looking for who he was going to throw the ball. It was very. But he was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game in the Canadian Football League. Yeah. Yeah. So I. I like you hear that, though. And like, you, you know Kyler Murray at least, what, like the talent and it's. It's intriguing, right? Yeah. Yeah. I made. I made a big trade for him in one of my dynasty leagues. I acquired him because I didn't have a good second qb and someone cashed it. I got him for, like, I think a future first. I just like, in a super flex. I was like, I. I'm gonna make the gamble. I have him. I have him in our. Yeah. We had a one quarterback league though. And I mean it's, it's just with the Super Flex dynasty, like you, you pretty much need two, you need two good ones. Yeah, but, so what do you think, Pop? I think before national, like there's going to be a little bit of hype, Pop, and I think I, I, I, I, I, I don't think people are gonna, I would be surprised, I would be surprised that he would really pop before the national, but I have a feeling he's another guy that, you know, if, if you know, he can be accurate and throw the ball to those wide receivers because that's all he really needs to do. I think his market could, could jump up, but, but I don't know how much can it jump up? Like how, how much can people actually believe in him? You know, I, I, this is what I'll say. It's a, his market's pretty low and if he's able to go have a good season with the Vikings, I don't think the Vikings are going to let him watch walk. And also, isn't, isn't he, he grew up a Vikings fan I think too. Yeah, I, and I don't think like Sam Darnold's market really exploded, you know, when he, when he was there. So I don't know. It's gonna be interesting, it'll be interesting to see. I'll, I'll be, I'll be underwhelmed, you know, chopped underwhelmed throughout the summer. But I think if he can play well, his market will definitely improve. You know, it could be something. What I think this is a perfect situation of like, if you want to take a flyer on like a really high end Kyler Murray card, that may be the way to go. Like, you know, you could probably get something really, really nice of his for, for like 250. Yeah, like honest. I bet you could get, I don't know, prices. I bet you could get like a nice flawless RPA or NCRPA or some high end prism, you know what I mean? I bet you could do that. Yeah, that'd be interesting. So how about one of the guys he's throwing the ball to? Justin Jefferson, his counterpart. Are we ready to pop him now that he's got somebody to throw the ball to him? I sure hope so. Justin Jefferson is so good, man. J.J. mcCarthy kind of, it kind of sucked. I feel like J.J. mcCarthy took a year from him out of his career. You know what I mean by that? Yeah. And he wasn't even in there the whole Year they had him, they had some backups. It was just, it was a mess last year. And I think this kind of does go back to Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray has supported wide receivers in the past like he is support. Like when Hopkins first went over there. Hopkins and him were amazing. He was able to support Hollywood Brown for a bit. He was able to support Marv when Marv wanted to catch the ball. Like, you know, I, I, I don't know about card wise because receivers are a little different than that but like as a, as a player, I think I can't. I mean it's got to be better than last year for Jefferson. And it's never his fault though. Like truthfully, it's not his fault. Yeah. Just because he's so superior out there on the field. Yep. How about Puka? Nakua? Pop. Pop. Dude, I love Puka. I, he gets so many targets too, man. Like, like I just. And he gets hurt because the how he plays but he's also like, it's interesting. It's like he gets hurt but he's, he's like durable which is like an oxymoron. He just is tough. He plays through stuff too. Like, I mean Stafford coming back, it'll put him in that like Airstream thing they had outside. Remember that? It was like some health treatment. He was like about to retire and then he went in this like. Let me fill the air for a second. I gotta look at what this is called. Yeah. So I'll talk about, let's go to some comments here. Peterborough Sports Cards Viking Bias. I will say Pop if he stays healthy. Ziggy. No, Murray is a solid gamble. Peterborough Sports Cards. Jennings is solid. Peterborough Sports Cards felt bad for Jetta last season. Too good of a player. He was let down by number nine. Yeah, that's what you just said too. Yeah. He's such a. Are you, are you ready for this bad guy Batman thing that Matthew Stafford did? So Matthew Stafford was on the verge of retirement last year with, with aggravated disc in his back as he's gonna go play quarterback and then all of a sudden In a specialized $160,000 is what it's called Immortal Chamber for pain relief in physical therapy. He then went into it and was then the MVP of the league. So Matthew Stafford, another year, another Immortal Chamber mvp. Maybe they'll throw Puka in the Immortal Chamber. Yeah, that's just, doesn't that just sound like like comic book stuff? Yeah, yeah. I mean if you can come out and do it, come out and do it. He was pretty well protected last year too. He didn't take too many hits, which was. He also had an immortal chamber is what it's called. So what, whatever, whatever that is in LA. I mean, there's probably 27 other teams now with that same chamber sitting outside their thing. There's an la. So the Illuminati pitched in together to get Matthew Stafford in an immortal chamber. So I remember reading that and I'm like, is this like some like, fake article, like AI slop sort of thing? It's. No, it's real. It's an immortal chamber. It sounds absurd, but yes. Pop. Pop for puka. All right, how about the 2020 quarterback draft class? Oh, a whole qb draft class. Oh, I know. Well, there's a lot of good quarterbacks, but Tua really drags them down. That's a tough one, Ken, because I, I'm bringing in the lumberjack. I think we're chopping them all right now. Every, every single one of them that I, every single one is gonna, you're gonna have to show me something, right? Yeah, it's definitely at that point. You know what, man? I think the biggest part, part of the 20, the downfall of the 2020 class is how good 2024 looks. It's almost like a reincarnation of the 2020 class, but they're younger, so you can prospect on them more. That's what I feel like. I don't know about you, but yeah, I mean, I, I, I, I remember those markets. The, the, the, the borough market. Right. I mean, and Hertz, I mean, he's played well. He's won the soup. Won a Super Bowl. I mean, it's Super Bowl MVP in the Super Bowl. He lost. He played extremely well. Yeah. Yeah, got, he got no love there. Yeah. And you know, I don't know, I just, I just think any of those, any of those quarterbacks. I think two. What? Two. It was in that one. Yeah. Jordan Love. Jordan Love. Herbert is so. Herbert is someone I actually think is going to be good still. Out of, out of everyone in the 2020 class class, he's the only one that if that team plays well. But the problem with his market was his cards were so expensive for so long. Right. And people just finally gave up on them. It's going to be hard for them to, to pay up again. I mean, same with Burrow. His NT101 Shield auto did 1.8 million. And I only know that because I had the 2020 NT Hobby Box and I was just researching it and I think Herbert's did 1.2 or something. So, like, you have people who got burnt, but, like, also, like, I will say I agree proudly, Chop, but like, Burrow has such a cult following that if he plays well, people will want his stuff. He's like, just such. He's like. He's Joe Cool, right? He's just so cool that, like, you know, I almost feel like it's the. That's the outlier. But. And packers fans are crazy, too. If Jordan Love can. Can do it, there might be something there. But Hertz has already done it, and it. That's really. It's just. It's interesting with her. Hertz's whole thing just doesn't make sense, man. I. I can honestly say in all my boxes, all my inventory going, going out to the National, I don't have any of the 2020. Wow. I think. I think I may have a couple her Hertz cards. And that's it. I. I did not. And I could remember 2023. That's all I was buying was Burrow and Herbert and Tua and. And Jordan Love. Yeah. It's crazy. Let's see here. PSA Popper job. Chop, Chop. I hate psa. Chop. Well, actually, you know what? Let me just read. Peterborough bro getting hyped every year despite injuries and Bagels not being the best field. Burrow needs a trade to actually succeed. Like you said, there's nothing. He has a cult following. Okay. Maybe the Rams will trade Ty Simpson. Yeah. So look, psa. You saw that. That crazy inscription that I got. Michaela Blake. Inscription. So I sent it to PSA at a regular order. Right. It got there June 18th. It's already in grading. Would you. Would you what service level? Regular. Just regular. Yeah. And I just did. That's a PC card. Yeah, I just sent it there to. And so, interestingly enough, a card that I handed to PSA at the Philly show just for in. Just to get it authenticated. Just to have the card authenticated that just went to grading the same time this card did. They both within a day of each other, both went to grading, and they're both one I handed to them, one I shipped out there. So. So. So right now I think I'm thinking if you have a decent card that you want graded, it's probably a good time. You get it back pretty quick because, you know, they're. Yeah, I. I've been sending some regular cards I sent out. I'm still sending to them. Even though I say chop, I just, you know, I can be. I Can be a hypocritical hater. Whatever. I can do that. Because I will. How about bgs, Pop? Chop. I'm all done with them. They'll never get my business again. I sent something out and I got it back in like under two weeks. Yeah, good. I'm good. I don't care if they're gonna give it back to me the next day. I'm not sending it to them. It doesn't matter how fast you get it back if they, they're not going to treat you right. Raw cards, that's such a broad category, Pop. Just because cards. Well, if they're raw, I mean, you know, you, you of all people were going out buying all these cards, sending them off to PC, sending them to get graded, then sending them off to auction. Right now that, you know the level is 79. Has it pushed you to be buying higher end raw cards because it makes sense to grade them versus buying the lower end, you know, like Otanis and things like that that you can send at the, the bulk level but end up getting, you know, making a good amount on them. Yes. I am trying to target for stuff. I'm trying to, I'm buying everything still. But like the stuff I'm trying to grade is pretty much 250 and up ideally. Like I just sent out a red optic Drake maybe out of 125. That's a nice card. I think it's like 1200 and a 10. I sent out a Mercury from Cosmic Chrome of otani. That's like 1500 and a 10. So yeah, I'm kind of like. Kind of. Yeah, I'm definitely doing that. Doing bigger cards. Yeah, yeah. And it's, you know, it is what it is. And also I'm trying to buy like what the bigger I'm. We kind of touched on this a little less like last week. But I'm really honing in on the names that I'm trying to buy at that higher level. Like I'm not really gonna take a shot on a prospect at a really expensive level, if that makes sense. You know what I mean? Yeah. By prospect I mean like fringy prospect. Not like. Yeah. So Ziggy says he's buying TCG just opened. I don't know what it is. Op 16 packs, one piece. Oh, one piece. I only know that because I the collection I bought had some one piece. And so I have. My brother in law is into one piece and he had told me the larger the female chest muscles are on the cards, the higher the prices are on the cards and I, I don't know how true that is or not. Yeah, about one piece. He's holding them all. He's waiting for PSA to reopen. Well, we get a PSA is our last popper chop. Right. So this has been, I hear, I hear a lot of content back and forth on this, but PSA graded cards, PSA graded car. Look, we got a friend tonight. We have James Bacon. Yep. But, but PSA graded cards. I mean, because PSA has shut down. Is it, is there any, any, any improvement in price to already graded graded cards? On, on. I think pop on at least demand. The demand, demand is going to be higher. So definitely pop on demand of the cards. I don't know about price. What do you, have you seen anything on price for that? Really? Really? I haven't. I mean, I hear people saying, you know, they want to describe it like gas, right. Oh, geez. You know, limited gas. You know, the gas is limited shortage. Right. So the price goes up. That's PSA logical argument. PSA slabs are going to be, you know, you're not going to be able to get the stuff graded. So anything that is graded now and you've got back, you should be paying a premium on. But I don't see that market, especially in a lot of stuff that I'm still getting back. I'm not seeing a big jump, a big spike in, in that market. I don't know if it's yet to come, if we haven't really felt it or people are just saying that, hoping that they're going to drive the market up and get more for their cards. Like, I have no idea. Yeah, I mean, I will say, like, you know, the hobby is definitely full of snake oil salesmen in that regard. Like it's just the truth. Like everyone who has the card wants to pump their card. Like, I get it. There's also some truth though, like, like I said, it's a logical argument. Like there's less slabs. So like, I think if you're gonna see that the main place it could happen is going to be like the repackers needing to spend more to get more because their margin is like they're making well over a hundred percent on their cards on the back side of it, depending on how they do it. So like, I don't know though. I mean, I haven't seen it. I haven't seen anything like that would make me think like, you know, I haven't seen that glaringly by any means. Yeah. And also I feel like that would have to happen on like a not rare scarce card like that in my mind. Wouldn't you know wouldn't matter. Right. It would have to be on like like a a new release of a Jackson Dart base card that someone was like I think this will jam and it's going to be risky. Or like an example would be like the type of price spike that someone gets when a new product comes out and they're a rookie in it and they're like playing super well. Like Jaden Daniels When. When 20, you know when he went to the playoffs and his prices spiked like crazy in the playoffs as it like went with his brand new products coming out. Like so you had those crazy base Prism rookie sales but like instead of that happening it would just be. There's no. None of them graded. So you have like five PSA 10s of like a Jackson Dart based cosmic chrome. Like that sort of thing. Like that would kind of be my. However. Yeah. The market would be like that anyways. I can remember that time you're saying. I remember being at Culture Collision and having seven of those. Jaden Daniels rated rookie Don Russ rated rookie PSA 10 selling for 350 $50 a card. Right. What I'm saying though is the difference rather than the player performance it would literally just be those prices. But like Jackson Dart is not playing right now. So the player performance is not the reason those are spiking. That. That's the difference. Right. That's. That's how I would try to base that off of is like base stuff in A. In a 10 doing crazy without the actual insane performance. That's the best way I can frame that. We will have to see. We'll have to see what it looks like. You know what we. We actually have an example of that we do is that Mac Jones stuff when the COVID with the COVID shut off when some people sent that Don Russ rated rookie super high. Yeah. Or sold that Don Rush rate of Rucky super high when it first came out. Like because there were a lot of those sales like well over a thousand dollars. But. But there was also that lower end shut now so. So we. We saw that before. So I think it's going to happen with more newer stuff though. It has to be like why would older stuff. There's not. There shouldn't be a rarity or scarcity of the older stuff. Right. And I think that part of the problem is there was such poor. You know the card. The cards were in terrible condition. That didn't gem. Right. So People, too, are like, do I really want to spend this money on this card and have a 9? Have it come back at 9. Right. The quality control wasn't very good on them. So I definitely had a card get damaged at PSA recently. I had a Paige Becker's franchise features that got a PSA4. Oh, that's the worst grade I've gotten in ever. This is the worst grade I've ever gotten. And I looked at the card and there's a huge crease in it. And I was like, that. I did not send that. You know what I mean? Yeah. All I just got an order pop from. From through PC PSA that all the Paige Beckers, Silver prism and logo Prism all got nines. Every other card got a 10 except for Paige Beckers. I'm like, come on, man. There. Oh, there was one Caitlin Clark in there. Got a nine also. It's like, it's like, can I, can I give you some space right now to talk about Caitlin Clark? Because I want to ask you about something really quick. Sure. We haven't talked about Kaylin Clark in a while either, so it's overdue. And we're at the point in the podcast where it's over the hour mark. People are like, what the heck? So anyways, what was going on? Where someone was just holding her down and choking her with her forearm. Aliyah Boston, what is going on? It's. It's. You know, it's. It's. It's at the heat of the game. It's a sport. The girl got suspended. She's a Suspended for a game. We're moving on. No, Ken. Heated rivalry is hockey. This is biting the hand that feeds you. This is what this is. And I'm. I'm so tired of it. But, like, I don't even need to watch anything else. It's like, like, is it jealousy? Like, what, what is it at this point? Because it's, it's clear targeting, man. It really is. It's like, is Sean Payton the coach on every other team in the, in the WNBA bounty hunting for Caitlin Clark? Like, what is going on? I just need her to last, to be healthy to the Nationals so I could sell all her cards. Ken's like, I just want to put her in a bulletproof vest, a bodysuit. Yeah, it was ridiculous. You know what? I, I, I don't know what's going on. I think it's been a lot better this year. The refs have called a lot, A lot more this year, and I think she's Been able to play a lot more. It hasn't been. It was definitely wasn't as brutal as last year. But you know what? It's. It's just going to continue to. It's going to continue to happen until it doesn't happen, you know, until they make a league wide change. But, you know, you don't see him going after Paige like that. So there's more. There's a lot more to it than just, you know, jealousy. I think Ziggy says let him play Jordan. I don't know if that's a great comparison, but. All right, kid. All right, man. Great episode. What's. When's the holiday? We. We're back next week, right? July 4th is a Saturday, which is a crazy date for July 4th on the 250th anniversary. That's like, couldn't have written it up. You're here next Thursday. Next Thursday. You're not doing anything. You'll be around. Yeah. Yeah. It'll be. Was it. It'll be the July 2nd. Yeah, July 2nd. Yeah. Just making sure before. Oh, yeah, I'll be here. Going into a holiday weekend. I want to make sure you're gonna be around. I'll be here. Yeah. All right. This weekend, Saturday, I'm going to the Wallingford Card show. It's the next town over. I am not doing the Marlboro 1000 table show, which is this weekend. And I think Sunday, I'm gonna do the Norwalk show in Connecticut. So if. Two shots at shows this weekend, no table. So when I go in, I'm gonna tell them you think I'm supposed to pay extra because you paid for that table. No, Ken, I think you should stay true to yourself and give those 80% deals. And that's the only way that you really get that point across to me, is if you go in there and say, I'm not selling this above 80, sir. Let me. Would you. Would you like anything else? Let me add on to that. Thank you. So, Little bug cards. This is great episode, Ziggy. Cheers to you, my friend. Yeah, so I will. That's what I'm doing this weekend.
