Well, actually I'm back at it again for another episode and as I record this, I'm actually recording two episodes back to back because we're taking next week off. As I'm recording this is the June 23rd. Normally we would record next week on the Wednesday. However. However that's July 1st, which is Canada Day and I'll be far, far too busy in the evening with my family enjoying that. So he had planned on recording two episodes back to back today. However, my co host hasn't shown up. I'm just going to put that bluntly. So it's just me for the next two episodes. With that being said with this episode and next week's episode. Normally when it's just me, I would pass on the cards for our binder just so my co host can keep up or stay caught up with mess with me as well. However, I'm not gonna do that this time. I'm gonna get mine out of the way. And when she is back for her episode or with our episode together, we will quickly go over what she picked for those two sets. One for this week and one for next week. The third episode that we're recording after these two episodes is not going to be our typical episode. It is a I was going to say one on one, but us interviewing a celebrity. So it's just going to be simply about a half hour of us just talking with this celebrity. So it won't be our typical setup per se. Depending on time, we might do a card for the binder at the very end once we end the call with that person and it's just us two again. But I'll, I'll talk to my co host when we get to that point. But first, let's look at the top 10 Scarlet and Violet base set Pokemon cards. Yeah, we're finally into Scarlet and Violet. We're almost at the end, or at least caught up, so to speak. Until they renew or release another set. Right. So starting off at number one is the gardevoir ex secret illustration rare at 84.92, followed by drowsy, the illustration rare at 72.26. Now, remember last week how we were talking about the Gardevoir cards, how there's those three cards that make up like a storyline? Well, number three is Ralts, the illustration rare at 55.43. And right behind that is Kirlia, the illustration rare at $54.05. So there's all three of those gardevoir cards raw. All three of those cards that make up the Gardevoir card just kind of backwards in a sense. It's weird, you know, final evolution. First and second weird. Number five is slowpoke, the illustration rare at $49.52, followed by ryloo, the illustration rare at $40.86. Wiglet, the illustration rare comes in at number seven at $30.10. Number eight is miron ex, the secret illustration rare at $29.65. Number nine is miriam, the secret illustration rare at $29.49. And finally, fido comes in at number 10, the illustration rare at $25.87, for a grand total of $472.12. Which is not bad, I guess, considering they're all the secret rares and illustration rares. I guess that's not that bad. I mean, at least the top card is less than a hundred dollars. Unfortunately for us Canadians with the conversion, it would be about 100 bucks. So take that with a grain of salt. But yeah, up next, we're going to be looking at the 30 best Pokemon of all time, apparently, according to IGN. Now, when you think of the 30 most 30 best Pokemon of all time, it's kind of hard to narrow that down. Concerning you've got like a well over a thousand Pokemon right Well, can you guess what number one's going to be? Because, I mean, you can tell these guys are. They're stupid. Okay, let's just be honest. Whoever the hell wrote this article from IGN or whoever the hell did the survey at IGN. Oh, boy. You see, number 30 is Bulbasaur. I'm not going to go into details about these because, again, there's 30 of them, so we're just gonna fly through this crap. Number 30 is Bulbasaur. Like I said. Number 29, though, is Arceus, which is. Okay. Number 28 is Metagross. I mean, yeah, okay. You know, somewhat pseudo legendary. Sure. Followed by Dragonite, another pseudo legendary. Very original. Number 26 is Halucha, which. Okay, yeah. One of Ash's good Pokemon. Ish. Number 25, though, is ditto, which. Okay, I mean, yeah, I get it. Ditto can literally transform to any Pokemon, but really, Ditto, out of all these thousands of Pokemon. Ditto. Okay. 24 is Piplup, which, yeah, Piplup is cute. 23 is Flygon. Okay. And then, of course, 22 is Eevee. I mean, sure, yeah. You know, it can evolve into what, seven different types. Not bad. 21 is Lucario. Sure. You know, kind of typical. Although I'm kind of surprised that it's 21 and not higher. Number 20, though, is one of my favorite Pokemon, Mimikyu, which, again, kind of hurtful that it's at 20 out of the top 30, which. I mean, Mimikyu is. I. I like Mimikyu. I love Mimikyu. It's so misunderstood. 19 is Diaga. Okay, sure. Why. Why is. Why is. I got 19. Number 18 is absol. Which. Yeah, okay. Absol Is. It's not. It. It wouldn't be up there. But of course, with the Mega Absol Z form, it does apparently raise its rank, I guess. Which. Yeah, I mean, the Blackish Absol is pretty freaking cool. I like it. Number 17 is Snorlax. I'm sure. Okay. 16 is Gyarados. Okay. We're going back into Kanto Pokemon. There's. Can you notice that there's a lot of Kanto Pokemon in here? 15 is Tyranitar. Sure. I mean, Tyrant are a big, beefy dragon type. 14 is Greninja. I'm surprised that even with the whole Ash Greninja thing, it wasn't higher. Thirteen, though, is Gardevoir. Sure. Okay. I don't want to know why it's that high up there. I mean, it's got a pretty decent Mega Evolution, but. Okay. Number 12 is ho ho, Which. Okay, that's very weird that Ho ho made the list. Here's a weird one. Number 11. Psyduck. Why? Why is Psyduck at 11? I mean, it was pretty hilarious in Detective Pikachu back in the day. As I say, back in the day. Like, it was so long ago, but kind of was a long time ago, wasn't it? Other than that, though, it's. I mean, it's iconic in the anime. That's about it. The top ten, though. No, God. Number ten is Garchomp. Which. All right. Yeah, kind of slept on, I guess. Number nine is Suicune, which. Yeah, I. I like Suicune out of the dog. Well, I mean, I like Entei better just because I don't know. Pokemon 3. Come on. How can you not love Entei, right? Number eight, Mew. Sure. Okay. Number seven, Squirtle. Okay. Number six, Celebi. I mean, okay, mythical Pokemon. Sure. Number five is my all time favorite, Gengar. Which. Okay, nice. I made the top five. But this next Pokemon, why the hell did it beat Gengar? Number four is Rayquaza. Like, really Rayquaza. I'd take a Gengar for Rayquaza any day. I mean, sure, the shiny form is nice, but come on, who doesn't want a white mega Gengar? Number three. Okay, well, okay, you know what? The. The top three shows you just how stupid these guys are. Okay. Number three, Mewtwo. Number two, Pikachu. Number one, Charizard. Really? Charizard is the great. Is the best Pokemon ever. Really? Really? Okay, that just goes to show that you are the dumbest human beings I have ever heard of. Because if you think Charizard, of all the thousand something Pokemon is the greatest Pokemon or the best Pokemon. Really? Really? Come on. But finally, we're going to be looking at the most iconic Mew cards as it stands, this episode and the next episode will be it for the most iconic Pokemon cards in the TCG history, simply because that's the end of those articles. I do have something else that I was thinking about after these last two episodes of the iconic cards, and I'll let you in on it at the end of this episode, because I kind of think it's fun in a sense, but also could be kind of cringy. But of course, the most iconic Mew cards. I mean, there is one particular Mew card that I absolutely adore and no other card will ever touch it, but they don't think it's the best card. You see, the first ever Muse were a combination of the wizards of coast promo cards. Number eight, I believe. And number nine, if I'm reading that correctly. Yes, sorry, eight and nine. Of course. Eight and nine were both the same artwork, same everything. The only difference is number eight was non hollow. Number nine was hollow. Why the hell they made back to back promo codes of the exact same damn card, just hollow and non hollow? No idea. But people bought them because, you know, Wizards of Coast, right? The next one though was Mew from Southern Islands. Yeah, the Thousand Islands was one of the coolest special releases in Pokemon history. Got a whole bunch of promo cards along with a really solid three ring binder. And the cards all had connecting artwork. These were basically the original illustration rares when you think about it. Anyway, the Saladin Island Mew is the absolute banger of a card and the most expensive card from the set. It's a gorgeous reverse holo and one of the first reverse holo cards that wasn't a promo. Then we had another Wizards of the Cults promo Mew. The Lily Pad Mew is one of the cutest Mew cards ever. This card has always been incredibly popular because of its adorable Sugimori artwork. This is one of the few promo cards that has its artwork reused for a future card. In fact, a new version of the card is almost a perfect reprint of the original Lily Pad Mew. There is one more wizard of the Coast Air Mew card that we're going to be looking at that is probably the most famous of them all. The ancient Mew. The absolute greatest Mew card ever. I have one in my display case. If you're looking at the video version, it's right back in there, right behind me in my recording studio. It's graded a 9.5 from MMT or Mint for us Canadians. Absolute, absolute amazing card. I remember getting that card. Not that particular card, because I. I bought that card later on. I remember getting that card from the Pokemon the movie 2000. The card itself appeared in the movie. It was given to viewers when they attended the film premiere. And since then it's always been a beloved collector's item, which, yeah, it's steadily gone up in price in a sense. I mean, the market value is like 121, which is not bad, you know, considering I think I bought mine for like $30 about five years ago. So sweet. But I mean, I would never ever sell that MU card. It's. It's iconic to my childhood. And something like that just gives me pure nostalgic joy. Reminds me of when we were young and less broken Less financially strapped. You know, when you didn't give a crap about anything other than Pokemon or just being a kid. Right. The next mew we're looking at is shiny Mew cards. So we have the Dragon Frontiers ultra rare. The first printing of the shiny mew was a mew star from Dragon Frontier. Today, it's one of the most expensive mew cards you can find in the English. However, this card has never been reprinted and won't be unless Pokemon decides to release an updated classic collection, as they did in celebrations for the 30th anniversary. And then, of course, next up is the infamous Bubble Mew, the S or special illustration mew from Paldea Fates. This card is adorable. It's all there is. The playful cinematic illustration of a shiny mew floating above a bunch of other Pokemon, all From the original 151, I might add, is amazing. This card also has a ton of playability. But for many, the bubble Mew sits comfortably in the top loader to be admired rather than played. Which I own a card shop that gets an online card shop. You know how many people call, email, text message, message me, do you have bubble mew? Do you have a bubble mew? No, I do not have a bubble mew. It would be nice if I had a bubble mew at the same time. Why the hell would I pay for a bubble mew and turn around and try and sell it and not actually make any money off of it? Because you're not going to find a bubble mew for under market value. I mean, then again, what the hell is even market value nowadays, right? You know, stores come out with a product and they don't even go by msrp. They go buy whatever the hell they want to sell for. And yeah, I mean, it is what it is. But finally, one of the rarest mew cards ever. This is a book promo from Japan that was printed in April of 2001 as a promotional card included in the Corocoro comic. This shiny mew is such a clean card. The artwork is so simple and hollow. Pattern on it is absolutely breathtaking. And of course, you know, the Corocoro promotional card, the market price apparently is $1,000. Yeah. Dear Lord. And the product details for it back then were was that you can't have more than one shiny mew in your deck. Yeah, let's. Let's put a couple of these damn things in your deck, right? But let's move on to full art cards. The first full art is the Mew Ex from Legendary Treasures Radiant Collection, the ultra rare. So here we have a full art Mew Ex from Legendary Treasures. This is possibly the cutest modern Mew. Yep, I said it. You know, it's. It's sparkly, it's colorful, it's vibrant, it's the pink pops. Yeah, this card is a cuter. Is definitely much cuter than the bow. I think. I just love the bright colors on. Like I said, you know, it's. It's vibrant. Right? This card is from aeta. Didn't have a huge production run compared to others, so it is pretty hard to find nowadays. And we go from vibrant, colorful to like a crap ton of colors. Had vomit. Vomited all over it. Because now you have the alternate Mew V Max from Fusion Strike. This car single handedly dominated the game while it was legal because of how strong Mu vmax was. When combined with Genesect V, it even won the 2023 World Championships. And finally, we have a very iconic Tay team, the Mewtwo and Mew gx. The sun and moon promo for the Mewtwo and Mew GX is hands down one of the best Mew artworks ever printed. The tag team card features our adorable little dude bothering its clone to the point that even Mewtwo got a freaking headache. This card was extremely powerful when it was legal. And this promo was considered easy to get back in the day because it came guarantee in a power partnership tin with an msrp of around 25 back then. It wasn't until just these last few years when tag team cards started to get more and more popular thanks to a certain YouTuber. Not. Not dumbass. Not that Dumbass. I'm not even gonna. I'm not gonna call the person in Dumbass because I mean I like the. The YouTuber, but sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut when you promote certain cards or certain sets. Yeah, that this card spiked in price because Mew has been around since the beginning, it has a ton of fans, is really cute, and the cards always come back around. Because of its popularity. There hasn't been a new Mew card in a while, not since Palde Fates. But I'm sure we'll see more of our favorite mythical Pokemon. And with that, the card that I picked was. Where is it? Ah, here we go. So we had to pick cards for Delta Species. So for my pick, I picked the Master Ball, number 99 out of 113. Now when you look at this card, if I can just pull it up, it is. You look at the top seven cards from your deck. You choose a basic Pokemon or an Evolution card from these cards, show it to your opponent and put it into your hand. Then you put this other six cards back on top of your deck and then shuffle your deck afterwards. Which is kind of weird. Why do you. Why, why does it say that you have to put them back on the top of your deck and then shuffle your deck? It's kind of weird in that sense. What happens if you put them at the bottom of your deck and then shuffle your deck? What happens if you stick them in the middle of your deck and then shuffle for your deck? Is that really going to make much of a difference? Does it really make a difference if you have to put the six cards on top of your deck and then shuffle it? Ah, it's kind of weird.
