So in good old recording fashion, you see, typically when we record an episode that day, you know, we, we, we ended the podcast episode, I edit it and I upload it so that it's scheduled to come out on the following Monday. For hindsight, we record on every Tuesday or Wednesday, alternating from one week to the other based off of my schedule and my co host's schedule. You see, the day after we recorded, we recorded yesterday. The very next day, more evidence and a video came out regarding the podcast that you're going to hear today. With that being said, my view in particular, I'm not quite sure about my co host. I haven't been able to speak to her yet regarding it. However, my view has completely changed in the sense that when we spoke in this episode, we tried to be as neutral as humanly possible. You're gonna see it in the clip art between Jason Page and this vendor. Things have changed. But I will let you listen, slash watch the podcast if you're watching it on Patreon. And at the end I will explain further. That way I don't spoil anything. So with that being said, here is today's episode. What is up everyone? Back it again for a brand new week. So today it there's not a whole lot on the docket, but it's going to be packed if that makes sense. We're going to be looking at the top 10 crown zenith cards. I was going to do the Galarian Gallery as well. However, as I mentioned to my co host off camera, if I did that, there wouldn't be a single Crown Scene card on this list because they're too damn cheap. So with that being said, we're doing the town 10 crown science cards today and then the Galarian Gallery next week. Then I mean everyone, as we're recording this, it's the 9th. So yeah, as we're recording this, everybody is talking about this damn vendor vs. Jason page about a Gengar card and who's the scamming piece of crap and this and that. At first I thought it was Jason Page, but then things changed because, well, more and more video quote unquote updates came up. It seems like this vendor is a piece of crap. So we're going to discuss that. There's a whole docket of crap that I sat through today. It took two hours for me to decipher everything from videos and everything and write it all out to try and simplify it for you guys. So, yeah, there's. There's a bit. And then finally, we're going to be looking at our picks for the giveaway binders. This time it is the Ex Emerald set. And boy, there are some expensive cards in that one. Yeah. But let's get right into Crown science. So number one is the secret Pikachu, valued at $52.39. I was going to say dirt cheap, but that's us. So that's like, what, 80ish dollars Canadian? Yeah, around there. You know, it's getting up there. Although nothing like modern cards. Number two is the full art. Alicia's Alicia Sparkle. It is $16.17, which is a substantial drop from the Secret Pikachu. That's insane. Number three, though, is Radiant Charizard at $13.60. Number four is Charizard V Star, it's $13.55, followed by the first of two Rayquaza VMaxes. This one is the 102 in the set valued at $12.85, followed by a Reverse Hollow Snorlax that plays a part in it because the regular Snorlax is far, far cheaper. But the Reverse holo snorlax is $10.75, followed by the second Rayquaza V Max, number 101 in the set at $10.47. Finally, at number. Well, sorry, not finally, but at number eight, it's Charizard V at $10.07. Number nine is MU V at $9.17. Okay. Just a little bit cheaper is EVV at $9.11 for a grand total of $158.13. Wow. That's actually for Crown Zenith. I mean, that's not as much as I thought it would be. Yeah. Now keep in mind, that is the base set version. That is not the Trainer. Or I. I was going to say Trainer Galleries, but that was the previous set. That is the. Not including the Galarian Gallery cards, the subset in the entire set, but still, you know, $158 for the, you know, roughly a tenth of the set. It's not. Yeah, no, it's not. Now, this freaking Jason Pace crap. All right, so I'm gonna discuss it later in this giant docket of information. However, the way that it appears, it appears as if at first glance that this happened recently. Like, days ago, maybe. Okay. This happened back in March. Oh, wow. Yeah. Whatever the hell happened here happened back in March. And now people are making. Well, now the vendor in question is making videos about it, which is weird. Why wait three months? Maybe three and a half months? So there was a video posted about a week ago by this vendor, and it's just starting to make its rounds through the Internet now in mass waves. The video starts with the vendor sending out his table or his booth at this collector con. Starts. Starts immediately with him confirming with two kids that they pulled a. From the white set, a reshiram ex number 173 out of 86 out of a $10 pack from a vending machine at the con. The vendor states that the market value for that said card is $440. At the time of that recording. I haven't. Well, that's the thing. I. I didn't know that originally that this video or this incident had occurred in March. I didn't go back to look to see if this restaurant was even valued at $440 back in March. I could have, but it gets weirder. So the kid asked at what percentage would he get for a trade? Now, here's the dick move right off the bat. Without hesitation, he quotes, says, for you, I'd give you 90%. So, 400 straight. Like, you know, keep in mind in context, this kid is like, I don't know, ballparking. 10, maybe 11. The guy's like, oh, yeah, for you, man, I'd give you 90%. Okay, cool. Like, 90% is. Is pretty damn good. But, like, just the way that he sounded in his video was just cocky in a sense, like, I'm doing you a favor. Like. So the kid responds with, get this. Would you give me 85% cash? So the vendor cockingly offers him 90 at 400. The kid responds with a counteroffer of 85. Okay, so right off the bat, you watching the video, you can essentially assume that the kid doesn't very well know Pokemon or doesn't really know how to negotiate works. Yeah. So the vendor confirms that that would be $375 cash. Then the kid turns around and goes, well, would you give me 380? Like, you had the chance to get 400. You turned around and countered at 85%, which is lower than what the that's Bender offered you. So the vendor goes, yeah, okay, I'll give you 375. Then thinking, okay, cool, I just saved myself 25 bucks. And the kid's like, well, would you give me 380? I had a chance to get 400. You okay? Yeah. They definitely don't know no, they don't know anything about Pokemon really, other than the name on the damn card. And you know what? Honestly, at that age, that's the way it should be. Honest. Yeah. Kids at that age should not give a rat's ass about the value of a card. They should just care that they like the game, Period. Exactly. So the vendor accepts, gives the kid 380 in cash. Okay. Then later on, the kids come back asking to do another trade. The brother, this time, wants to do a trade. Okay. The card shown, he pops up like a stock image of the cards that these. This kid wants to trade. It's a Hisuian Growlithe number 181 out of 167, the altar from Twilight, and what appears to be a Mega Evolution Black star promo number 23, Mega Charizard EX. However, when you look at the picture that he posted, it doesn't have the set name or the number. It seems like those were just missing from the stock image. Which is. It almost appears like he took that stock image from, like, one of the leaked pictures that Pokemon puts out, kind of thing. Like the stock image prior to, like, the set name and all that crap being added to the card. In a sense, yeah. On the screen, it shows that the value would be $77. Apparently, the kid who sold the reshiram bought the two cards for his brother. But now the brother has buyer's remorse for some odd reason. The brother then asks how much the Gengar is, and he points to a Japanese fossil hollow Gengar. The vendor claims that it's $150. And displayed on screen is a stock image of it. No clue as to what the condition of the card is, though. At this point, the vendor claims he got the Gengar for a really good deal and is willing to do a straight trade for the card. Remember, the claimed value of the two cards were $77. So why willingly lose $73 on a deal unless the value of said card is not actually $150 based on the condition? Because he didn't say anything about the condition. He just said it's $150. But I'll give you a deal and do a straight trade at 77 and 77. Yeah. So you traded a card at quote, unquote, half value. Why? Yeah, okay, so this is where it gets a little weird, right? So, apparently, according to this video, two hours later, the kids are back at the vendor's table again. Video section starts with a with the vendor asking for confirmation on what did. What did the Two kids trade to Jason Page. He's freaking out, like oh what? What, what did you do? Kind of thing, right? And he's like, you know, what did you trade for? To Jason Page. And the kid states he got a graded signed card, but note it's not a real card. In exchange for the Gengar previously valued at $150 or is it valued at $77? The kid asks if that was a good or bad deal. The kid shows the card to the vendor. The vendor holds it up to the camera to show a quote. This is what it shows on the actual card itself. 2025 AGS promo card full art Robo grading Jason Page autograph number sign AGS Gem Mint 10 that's on the little window there of the graded card. The kid states they traded because Jason Page told them that it's a one of one and that it would be a better deal on their side. And that was the end of the first video. Okay, there are about four different videos that have come out within this week or actually quite a few videos that have come out within the last couple days. The vendor made a second video answering questions like who is Jason Page? Why did their dad allow them to do that? Which the vendor thinks the father doesn't understand Pokemon and how it all works and neither does the kids. It's obvious. Yeah, kids have no idea how Pokemon value works. Yeah, he goes, I mean it does show that way with how the kids spoke about the cards, values, negotiating, etc. He also people also asked why are people allowed to sell fake cards? The vendor explains that the kids knew it was fake, but states the scummy part was Jason claiming it's a one of one and that it's worth more than the ganger. This he stated that if the kids were stoked then maybe it would be different. However, the kids thought they got cheated and that was the end of the second video. Okay. In a third video, the vendor goes over essentially what happened basically point for point as to transcribing what happened in the first video. He claims he was feeling generous and decided to give the kids a card valued at double to trade. Also now claims that the Gengar was worth ballpark 150 to $200. Now vendors stated he heard stories of Jason scamming vendors, but never kids. Okay. Apparently Jason's manager, this guy named Ryan, contacted the vendor due to the videos before now even has gone as far as commenting in the comment section of the vendors videos. Keep in mind the comments used very colorful language and even said things like if he was Jason, he would sue the vendor for defamation of character. Which, if you're his manager, then why wouldn't you sue. Yeah, you're his manager. Or why wouldn't you turn around to his lawyer? Exactly. So that was the end of the third video. In a fourth video, we learned Ryan actually is one. We learned that Ryan actually is the one who sells the cars at Jason's booths, apparently. And the vendor claims that Ryan should be fired for selling big cards. But where is this really going? The kids claim it was in fact Jason who sold the card to the kids. Not this Ryan guy, though. So where the hell does this Ryan guy come from? Right? So, yeah, it's messed up. And that was the end of that video. But then Jason starts speaking. You see, Jason made a video on June 7. So two days ago, as we're recording this, stating things and showing various quote, unquote, pricing for his autographs as well as stating that this happened in March. So why is it coming to light now, three months later? Jason again claims the trade was fair and in the kid's favor. Jason breaks up the video into segments. The first is regarding the card he traded. He states he will look at this in terms of plain cost and not potential market value, which could be higher. Quote, quote, quote. His card is as follows. And this is him stating word for word, pop one. Autographed, inscribed, graded AGS 10 company custom promo card. They don't sell these. They are a limited item. He says the vendor claims it's a fake, when really it's a promo card. And indicated by their logo on the back that there is a market for promo cards and that many vendors carry and sell sign graded cards. Okay, so there's a lot to unpack there. Pop one. Well, I highly doubt that's a pop one because AGS made that custom promo card. They graded that promo card. So yeah, they're going to give it a 10. If you make a card and engrave the card in your own facility, why the hell would you give it anything less than 10? That's just kind of stupid, right? Especially if you're right. Yeah. So, yes, there is a market for promo cards. Not fake company promo cards, though. Let's get that real though. And you don't see PSA or BGS or, you know, CGC or TAG or in my case in Canada, mmt. You don't see those guys making fake promo cards for. I'm going to call him an influencer at this point. You know, Jason being an influencer or an Artist. Yeah, basically, you know, basically, you don't see that crap. At the end of the day, it's a fake card. It's a proxy. I mean, hell yeah, I can make a damn fake card and I can send it to a grading company. They're not going to grade it though. But if a grading company makes a card, why the hell wouldn't they upgrade it? It's their own card. It's in their own facility. Right? Yeah. So that's kind of. Yeah. Also, he claims AGS is the third highest largest grading company by volume behind PSA and cgc, when in fact, a quick Google search shows that BGS is the third largest behind PSA at number one and CGC at number two. AGS was founded in 2021. Wow. Now. Wow. Yeah, there's a lot of BS going on both sides here. Now AGS gives up these promo cards. Again, they are limited, so he claims there is a small resale value, probably around $5, he says. So he's, he's averaging that this card on its own, not graded, is about $5. Okay. But then goes on to say, although to quote unquote, some with grading autograph etc, it could be valued much higher. Probably around hundreds or thousands of dollars. Okay, sure, we'll go with that, I guess. I. But then Jason shows his price list and Stacy, he previously had this card signed and graded. He signed it himself, though. He goes, oh, I, I had this card signed and graded. Dude, you signed it yourself. It's your own signature. Yeah, I don't know when the card was made, but it's a custom promo card from AGS grading company that you previously signed and had grading. And he goes on about like, oh, you know, you can add things like shipping and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, you know, and that increases the card's, you know, price tag. No, it doesn't. Just because you have a card shipped to you. Nope. Or just because you had to pay for shipping does not mean you can tack that shipping onto the price of the damn card. It doesn't work that way. Nope. Because if that was the case, any of the cards in my freaking display case back there that are graded by much better reputable companies than AGS, I might add. I mean, my HMU, for instance, cost me 25 to ship that card. I'm just gonna attack 25 bucks on that onto that card and go, no, no, I want this much money because it cost me 25 to ship that damn card there and back. Yep. So I get that 25. Somebody's going to turn me and go, buddy, go smoke something. Yep, get lost. Okay, so you do not include shipping. No, it never. It never does. Never has. Nope. And if it ever does, people are going to laugh their asses off of you. Talk about cheap, right? Yeah, he's giving off like cheap, like BS for being influencer. He's being pretty cheap. Yeah, in that aspect. So he shows off his price list and states that he previously had the card signed and graded and blah, blah, blah. Here's where it gets me though. His regular signature is $50 US so if you just want his regular signature, which is like a scrunched up version of his normal signature, if you want his full name though, stretched out kind of thing, it's a hundred dollars. If you want signature certification, you tack on an extra $15 onto that 50 or 100. Oh my God. If you want an inscription, you know, some, gotta catch them all or whatever, you're gonna tack on an extra $25 onto that 50 or $100. If you want multicolored sig. So you want two different colors for your signature, you're gonna tack on an extra $20 for him to pick up a second marker. If you want him to draw a picture on your card, you're going to tack on an extra $75. What the. And he probably can't even draw that good anyways. Doesn't look like it. And if you bring him a premium item, you're going to get charge of $150. So if you bring him, I probably draw better than he does. In all honesty, I'm willing to bet my, my 12 year old daughter draws better. Yes. You have to send me a picture of that because I want to see if you found a picture of it. Oh, there, there's probably pictures all over the place actually. I mean, in fact, I have a. A, it's not graded, but. Is this locked? It is locked. Okay. I'm not opening it. I do have a Jason Page signed card. Yeah, over there. I got that back in 2020 or 2021. Back when all the cons were virtual kind of thing you had to mail in items and all that crap. I think back then I paid like signature, JSA verification and shipping. All in all, maybe a hundred dollars Canadian. Wow. Yeah. So in the course of like about getting greedier and greedier. Yeah. And of course it was like six or five years. Yeah, that's crazy. So after he shows his price list, he goes. So on the card he gave to kids, it had as follows. The card value $5, full name, signature, $100, inscription, add on another $25. But then he turns on and goes, oh, to have it graded at AGS, it cost him $18, so he's going to tack that onto there as well, plus shipping, which the value is unknown for that. And he goes, it comes to a total of $148 plus shipping. So you know, roughly $150. So $150 for his so called card for $150 supposed Gengar, because we're estimating this 150 value on the Gengar as it stands. Is it 150, is it 77, is it somewhere in between? Or is it somewhere in the ballpark of 200 plus? We have no freaking idea. Because at this point we have no idea of the condition of the card. Yeah. So he also had to go into detail that it was graded a 10 out of 10 and that alone makes it more valuable, which kbuddy, like we mentioned before, when a company makes their own card and grades their own card, of course they're going to grade it a 10. Like the hell. He then shows the card to kids. Literally this guy, he, he picks up the card, whips it around and you know, blah, blah, blah. Thank God it was in a sleeve and top layers though. He takes it out of the sleeve and out of the top layer and shows it, shows it right up to the camera. It's a heavily damaged slash, heavily played card. He claims that based on tcgplayer and ebay solds the card is actually worth around $75 and shows listings to back that up. So this is where things get a little more interesting, you see, because now this supposed $150 card is now proven to be closer to that $75 range, which would be in value with the $77 trade that the kids did. Right. So that was the end of that. He also claims the kids then came back to his booth much later on and traded the graded card for another Jason Page autographed card and left quote, unquote happy. He did end the video in saying that if they wanted to reach out, they can and they can look at the cards again and do a complete trade back. They can have the Gengar back. He can take back his whatever card and just call it a day. So he did leave that open to saying, hey, if you're really, really unhappy, I will give you back to Gengar, no problem. And you can give me back to the autograph card, whichever card the kids now have. Which. Okay, good on Jason for doing that. Yeah, I commend that. Always leave the ball in the other person's court and say, look, what do you want to do? But then, oh, boy. The vendor made a response video to Jason Page's video and things get very interesting. You see, the vendor states that the Gengar in Jason's video is in fact the card in question. And no, Jason didn't add damage to it or manipulated in any way. The condition of the card that Jason showed is in fact the condition of the card in which the vendor had traded the kids. And it looked beat up as hell. There were scratches all over it. The hollow was peeled back. It looked horrendous. Wow. Now, the vendor states the card is so damaged that it would probably grade a PSA one and that in fact, a PSA one value would be around $300 and proceeds to show listings of said $300. And that is how he got the market value of $150. Acast powers the world's best podcasts. Here's a show that we. What if you laughed all through your commute or if you heard the funniest story while at the gym? Well, now you can. I'm Jameela Jamil, and guests on my new podcast, Wrong Turns, share their most mortifying and hilarious disaster stories. I'm talking people like Mae Martin, Bob the Drag Queen, Katherine Ryan, Jake Johnson, Margaret Cho, Simon Pegg, Penn Badgley, and so many more. So listen, wherever you get your podcast. Wrong Turns where dignity goes to die. Acast helps creators launch, grow and monetize their podcasts everywhere. Acast.com. Really, man? Really? So you're gonna sit there, look at the card and go, yeah, that upgraded PSA1. You don't freaking know that. Yeah. I mean, you could send it to psa, they might even turn around and say, no, we're not going to grade it. I've seen that happen. Yeah. You know, if the card is that damage now, it wasn't that damaged for that to happen. But you can't. You can't sit there with a. A raw card and be like, yeah, you know what? I. I think this card's going to grade X, so I'm going to value it at X. And this is what you're going to pay me if you want said card. That's not how this works. Nope. In fact, I laugh at people who put up postings and go PSA 10 worthy, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, you don't freaking know that. You don't know. Yeah. No. Until you grade it, it does bother me when people do that and they try to sell things on Instagram. Yeah. And they'll say, I'm not gonna take your 10 time valued card in hopes that, you know, I get one guy at PSA who hasn't woken up with somebody's piss in his Cheerios. Yeah. You know, is it going to get a PSA 10? Maybe, but it might get an 8, might get a 9 and then more likely a 9 if, if you think it's a 10 usually. Now, he then showed a clip of video that was not previously seen that shows him at his booth telling someone that the Gengar would be. Would grade a PSA one and that would likely be highly sought after. So he's boosting or bounting about this card saying, oh, it'll definitely be a PSA one and it's going to be so highly sought after. Okay, maybe it would be sought after. Go grade it then. Don't jack up the value of a card because you assume it's going to grade something or you assume it's going to be sought after. Yeah, simple as that. It then clips to him speaking on speakerphone with the kid's father. The kid's dad states that the kid does in fact miss the card and that he was in a quote unquote wheeling and dealing mode that day and maybe just got kind of carried away. Chances are the kid got to 300 and whatever the hell you got. $380, I guess, and probably sat there, you know, as a 10 or 11 year old and got. And thought, holy shit, I'm filthy rich. I got $380 or whatever. You know what kid win, right. You got $380 cash in your hand. You're like, the frickin world's my oyster at this point, Right. This probably what fricking happened. The kid got so hell bent on the fact that he had a stack of cash, he probably went like full gaspy. Yeah. And just started splurging on everything, you know, who knows? But I mean, that's a, that's something you gotta learn as a kid. Unfortunately, you know, it is what it is. Now the vendor shows a screenshot of the card the kids got when they went back to Jason's booth. The secondary card that Jason gave them instead of that graded card was a 131 Lapras card. And I had never really seen this card before. I had to look it up. It was a Tops TV Animation Edition card. So it's a 1999 Lapras Tops card, which typically goes for around 50 to $60 Canadian or $35 to $43 US that number might be slightly skewed in the sense I did find one on ebay while I was doing this for the mid 50 Canadian range. It stated light play. I didn't really look too deep into the card. I don't know the condition of the card that Jason gave these kids. Not a freaking clue. However, what caught my attention was the price tag on this damn card. It's one of those little circular stickers ones. Yep. The multicolored ones. $250. Damn. Okay, $250 on a first for sake, I'll say between 40 to maybe $50 U.S. so you're looking at a $200 increase over a normal card. Yep. But it's because he put a signature and a inscribe on it. So now magically it's worth $250. Yeah. But again, if we look at the prices that I had previously mentioned. Let's break down the cost of this card, shall we? So it was a Lapras. I'm going to bank anywhere between 35 to say, $50 US somewhere in that ballpark. Okay. It had a full signature on it, so that's $100. It had a inscribe on it. That's another $25. The inscrib. Just a little saying, right? Yeah, it's just part of the lyric that he would have sang. Okay, so it would have been a grand total of ballpark $160 to $1 US. If you added all that crap that he threw on it, which is roughly 82 to like just over $90 over value than what the card is actually worth. So, you know, you're looking at 170 at the absolute tops. And he was selling the card for 250. Okay. That's a hell of a markup. On his own. That's. That is. Yeah. Just because he scribbled on the card, that's. Yeah, that's like 80 over 80 bucks. Yep. Yeah. So my problem is they're both kind of scummy in a sense. They're both kind of the vendor, although is the biggest asshole. Not only did he substantially overvalue his card, he. He tricked the kids into thinking that they were doing a straight deal. Yeah. Because. Well, he tricked the kids into thinking they're doing a straight deal and that he was being extremely generous by cutting the value of his so called card by half. In reality, it really was a straight deal. If anything, he came out ahead by roughly 2 or $3. Ish. Which you're not going to make a whole lot of bank for that. But it is what it is. Yeah. Yeah. But Jason Page, on the other hand, At the end of the day, it is business. Anybody who sells something can charge whatever the hell they want. Yeah. Simple as that. What determines that is supply and demand and. Well, yeah, supply and demand. Really, when you boil it down, how sought after is your product? Yeah. If it's more sought after, you can raise the price because you know people are going to buy it. Fomo. Right. People have fear of missing out. Is Jason's page autograph and all that crap really worth hundreds of dollars? Who's to say? Yeah, because you could get some guy turn who turns around goes, I wouldn't give them a, you know, ship covered piece of toilet paper for that signature. But then somebody else might turn around and go, I will give you my firstborn for that signature. Yeah. Pretty much never know, right? You absolutely never know. It's. It's only valued at what someone is willing to pay for it. Yeah. Would I spend that kind of money on a signature? Absolutely not. Yeah. No. For two reasons. One, I don't think it's worth that much. Two, the conversion rate would bend me over the table. Yeah. Simply going from the US To Canada. I've gotten autographs from like, I got a voice, a voice actor autograph from a anime. I got an autograph from someone from an actual show playing as a character. But like, I only pay so much, like at comic Cons and stuff that I don't go to in the northeast in the U.S. i. I only pay a certain amount because, like, I've noticed the actors I've been seeing, if anything's under a hundred, I'm okay with it. But if it were, if it were more than 100 just for a freaking autograph. No, like, I'm sorry, that's the thing. Like, it's. It's really gotta be worth it. Like. Yeah, I will pay over. Now, keep in mind, Canada versus US pricing or conversions, I should say I will pay over a hundred dollars or I will pay a quote, unquote premium, if you want to call it that, simply depending on who the hell it is. Yeah. For instance, I have assigned, was it 8 by 11 or whatever from Matthew Lillard. I paid like 200 Canadian for that. And damn right I would do it again because I absolutely love Matthew Lillard. Who is that, by the way? I don't know who that is. How the hell do you not know who Matthew literally is? How Dare you. I have no clue. He played in Scream. He was Shaggy. Oh, Scream. Oh, okay. Okay. Come on. How do you not know who Matthew literally is? You should be ashamed of yourself. I mean, people don't know who I like too much either because it's from the 90s, so it's. He was from the 90s. I know, but, like, I. I didn't watch the last Scooby Doo, to be fair. To be fair. He was the real life version. Yeah, I've seen. I've seen a little bit of that on the real life version, but, like, not a lot. I've seen, like, once or twice in my life. Okay. Yeah. But yeah, he played. He's played a ton of movies, TV shows. One of the best TV shows recently. Ish. That since has been canceled, I think was called Bad Women or Bad Bad Girls or something like that. He play. He plays the husband of one of the three women in this group. Absolute phenomenal. And of course, he's in Five Nights at Freddy's. Yep. Okay. Damn. Good job at that. He's in a bunch of stuff, honestly, like, both voice and physical. Okay. I didn't know he was in. Okay, that's cool. I have to watch Five Nights. Yeah, I mean, the movies are pretty damn good. Yeah, he's. Well, I'm not gonna spoil it for you, but he's a very good villain. I mean, he naturally plays a very good villain, but he also plays a goofy aspect of it with, you know, Shaggy. Yeah. And he's phenomenal with kids and. Well, you know what? He's phenomenal with everyone because whether you're a grown ass adult or a child, he will treat you with the utmost respect. Yeah. You know, it's phenomenal. I've seen videos that people have recorded on the phone of, like, he will completely shut down the line at his Comic Con. Or as bruta as Comic Con. To speak one to one with a. A grown woman or grown man or a small child. That's awesome. That's really cool. There's a famous video where he, like, he came around the front of his booth, knelt down, and was talking to this little girl. And he takes this picture and puts it up in front of his face so you can't see his lips move. And he starts talking like, Shaggy. Oh, wow. And it's. It's so freaking heartwarming. That's awesome, because I just see it in the girl's eyes go, oh, my God, that's shaky. Yeah. She doesn't exactly know where the hell is coming from. It's. It's so phenomenal. That's awesome. One of the most kindest human beings I've ever seen. But I mean, like, I have Veronica Taylor's signature above me. Yep. Just the standard signature. I have Sarah Natchacheni above me. That's actually addressed to me in my display case. I have, for another Veronica Taylor card signed. I have a Brock's Vulpix signed by the voice actor who played Brock, Eric Stewart. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I mean, I have real breaking Nate, his signature on a. On a side deck, I think. And all that cost me was postage because he's such a kind human being that you send him a card to sign, he will sign it back and ship it back to you as long as you have the paid postage to send it back, which, I mean, I mean, that's the least you could do is make sure you have an envelope they can ship back to you. Exactly. But yeah, I mean, when it boils down to it, I think Jason did the right thing. Ish. He did a business transaction. Yeah. He is a business entity in a sense. He's a talent, quote, unquote. And he is allowed to charge whatever the hell he wants to charge for his services. Acast powers the world's best podcasts. Here's a show that we recommend. Hello. Yeah, absolute piece of garbage. And again, why is all this crap coming to light three months later? Yeah, I come to find out that this vendor. I'm not going to name him. I'm not going to name anything else, but he is in a band. He has a band. You can find them on Spotify. They do relatively well for downloads. Although it's my understanding that you get paid, like less than Pennies with Spotify. I don't know if that's true across the board for Apple and blah blah, blah, blah, blah, but when it comes to downloads and everything, you get paid less than pennies. I don't know how his touring life is or how his sales are. I don't give a. But why. Why all of a sudden come out with this crap three months later? Are you. Yeah. Promote your band? Are you? What? What are you trying to do? If you were seriously this butthurt about it, you would have started, quote unquote, blasting Jason Page the day after the con. Not. Yeah, three months later. Yeah, exactly. So there's. There's some serious sketchiness to that. And I. I just think he's the biggest dick. Yeah, he sounds like it. Yeah. I don't 100 agree with everything Jason did, but tomato, tomato, I mean he. Again, he's a business. If you don't like the way he does business, don't support that business. Yeah, right. Same thing goes with the vendor. Slash band singer, whatever. If you don't support what they do, don't buy their cards at the shop, don't listen to their music. Simple. Exactly. But yeah, this has been making its rounds around the Internet like a wildfire. There is everybody coming out of the woodwork with their point of view and surprise, surprise, so are we, apparently. But to finish off the podcast, we are going to look at our picks for the Ex Emerald. I will. I didn't have my card actually physically pulled up and now you just went bye bye. Do I even. Yes, I do have it right here. Cool, cool, cool. I saved it. Ah, you're so big. That's what she said. So for Emerald. He just got there. For Emerald, I picked Exploud for the simple. Well, there's a couple reasons. Is a very, very busy card. The artwork is phenomenal. Nice cool holographic kind of weirdness. It's number three in the set. What caught my eye though is, is all the freaking moves, which is insane. I noticed that. So one energy you can draw three cards. It's just collect draw three cards. But then for two energies you can do 30 damage and you flip a coin. If heads, the defending Pokemon is now paralyzed. For three energies you do 50 damage with Hyper Voice. For five energies you do 60 plus damage. If the defending Pokemon is a Pokemon Ex, this attack does 60 damage plus 40 more damage. And that's crazy. Yeah. Being that it's 120 hp, I'm not too sure exactly what the ex Pokemon's HPs were back then. But the fact that It's a stage two and you need five freaking energies and the other Pokemon just to do 100 damage, that's nuts. Yeah, that's crazy. Like, just batshit crazy. But the biggest reason why I picked this car is just because there's so much crap going on. You can do something for 1, 2, 3, or 5 energies. They should have just made it 4 energies. Make it simple. What? Yeah, it looks like in the picture it's doing a hyper voice. It does. Yeah. Kind of thing. Yeah, it's kind of is. It's everywhere you turn. There's just something else going on. It's. It's kind of cool. I liked it. But that's a really good pick for mine. So I was stuck between two for different reasons, but I ended up going with number 85 of 106. It's Wally's training. So this is. This was. I'm such a Hoenn person because I started in Hoenn, but so the. The art speaks to me in different ways. But the. All right. The card itself says you can play only one supporter. Says it's on each supporter. One supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your active Pokemon. When your turn ends, discard this card. So the Wally training says, search your deck for a card that evolves from your active Pokemon. Choose one if there are two, and put it on your active Pokemon. This counts as evolving. That Pokemon. Shuffle your deck afterward. The biggest thing, the reason why this card spoke to me was in the original Ruby and Sapphire, even Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you come across Wally. Not really a rival, in a sense, but like, you. You come across Wally and Waltz. And just the picture itself is what spoke to me more. I actually, I have this card in my personal collection, and I. I've always liked it just because, like, I don't know, the art kind of. It's like. I don't know, it's just like one on one trainer and Pokemon. And then, like, he's. Wally's given. Walt's a little, like. I don't know if it's a poke. What was it called? Poke Pond. What was that? A puff or a poke puff or, like a little candy that they have in the older games? Yeah, it looks like some type of puff. Yeah, Yeah. I forgot what they call them. But in the. In Ruby and Sapphire especially, they had for, like, the contest, the glamour contest, like, you can feed the Pokemon certain candy, like, certain candies and make them have special abilities even more. Yeah. And basically that. That symbolized that for me in the. In the Ruby and Sapphire. But name the fact that Wally's in the story, and at one point you have to teach him how to catch a Pokemon, and he catches a waltz, which, mind you, is like a lower percentage. I don't know the exact number, but lower percentage in the wild on that game at the time, because Walt isn't like a common Pokemon in the game. So I just. I. I've always liked that. I've always liked Waltz, and I've always liked the waltz line. And then Wally just reminds me of it. Gives me a lot of nostalgia. So I thought it was a really cool card to add. Yeah. Okay. That's an interesting pick. And I think we've done that card before. Have we? I think so. Just a different set. I'm pulling out my binder from. Oh, I hope not. Evil. Evil Retro right now. This time we might actually have. Because I swear to God, we talked about this card before. Or maybe I referenced it and thought about. Yeah, we did. Did we really? Oh, number. Number 89 of 100 from whatever the hell set that was. I picked it. And then you picked the Breed Loom. Oh, snap. Oh, well, cool. I mean, we're gonna have two. Two different. Or two different sets of it. See, if I knew that, I would have chose the other one, but that's fine. All right. That's pretty cool. That's funny. Someone's gonna get these binders and go, why the hell is there two copies of the same card but the end? And they're very similar in numbers, too. So this is. Yeah, it's gonna be funky. That's pretty cool. That's hilarious. Yeah, because that was another one that I. Mr. Stone or Professor Stone, I wanted to use. I did that one, too. And I thought. I thought about doing that one at one point, but, yeah, as soon as I saw that card pop out, I'm like, I swear to God, we've referenced this card before. That is funny. Yeah, See, I completely forgot. Yeah. Yeah. But on that note, that is going to do it for us this week. Yeah. Next week, we're going to look at the Galarian Gallery for Crown Zenith. Those prices are nuts. Oh, gosh. Yeah. Like I said, you know, at the beginning podcast, if we had combined them, you wouldn't even hear a single Crown Zhangs card. Just because they're so cheap compared to the other ones. Yeah, we're gonna bring back the most iconic Pokemon card. I forget which one's next in the set. And, yeah, we'll, we'll go to some more interesting content other than talking about Jason Page, because that's, that's gonna be the end of that talking one that's gonna do it for us. Take care, everyone. We will see you again next week. All right, so now it's the end of the podcast. You've heard everything that we've stated. The new evidence is that the vendor has come out with a video today, essentially apologizing, which good on him. Good on him for actually apologizing. You see, he has owned up to the mistake of, hey, I have a raw card. Maybe I should sell it for raw value rather than what I assume it would be worth if it was graded X. He assumed this card would be graded a PSA one therefore assumed the card would be worth upwards of 2 to $300 and figured I can knock it down, quote unquote to the 150 range, when in hindsight a actual raw version of that card in that condition is actually in fact worth around the 70, 80 ish range, which is completely in line with a full blown trade for trade for the cards that these kids traded. Now, the whole like Jason Page side of it, I'm going to be blunt. Some people are not going to be happy with the fact that he charges what he charges. Me as a Canadian, I'm not too particularly happy with what he charges because I'm Canadian. The exchange rate sucks. If I was American, maybe I would like it a little bit better if it wasn't for that exchange rate, my move would definitely be far better for it. However, you need to take that by looking at the other side of it. He is a business, so to speak. He is a entity. He is a performer, he's a artist, whatever influencer. The list goes on and on and on. People can charge whatever they want to charge. If people buy it, then it justifies the church. If he turns around and says, I want my autograph to be worth $5,000 and nobody buys it, well, then he can sit there and go, okay, well maybe, maybe I'm asking too much money. Maybe it should be $1,000, whatever, right? And you find that point where people are willing to buy it, that it provides financial growth. At the end of the day, it's not just him living in a house or apartment or whatever. He has a team. He has expenses, just like we all do. We all have expenses. We're not all business people and we're not all artists and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So maybe our expenses aren't totally Comparable to his expenses. But at the end of the day, we all have expenses. If he says that he justifies his autograph at I think it was what, $50 and $100, then so be is what it is. If you don't want to buy it, simply don't buy it. Nobody is holding a gun to your head saying you have to buy it for 50 or 100 or add this to add onto the autograph and blah, blah, blah, blah blah. Nobody is saying that at all. If you don't want to buy it, simply don't buy it. I applaud both sides of this. I applaud Jason for saying, hey, look kids, if you want your gengar back, we can sit down, we can discuss it, you can have your gangar back. Awesome. Good job. I also applaud the vendor. He screwed up, he owned it, he admitted a wrong and he justified it. Or, well, he, he apologized for it. So at the end of the day, I still stand dead center. I don't particularly like what the vendor did, but at least he owned up to it. And in the case of Jason Page, well, Jason Pace can charge whatever the hell Jason Page wants to charge, just like any other artist or athlete or whatever. They can all charge whatever the hell they want to charge. Simple as that. So at the end of the day, I have, I personally have no ill feelings towards Jason Page or the vendor, you know, but again, we're just hearing snippets of one side, snippets of another side. Unless you were physically there over watching the entire interaction throughout the entire day, nobody really knows exactly what happened that day other than what each individual person saw at each individual time. With that being said, thank you everyone and have a great day. Take care. Acast powers the world's best podcasts.
