If you had listened to the last week's episode, you would have noticed that the audio sounded a little funky. It was still the same microphone I'm using, but just for some reason it just wasn't portraying very well on the crappy laptop that I was using, which essentially I only use that laptop to print shipping labels for ebay. Case in point, like if I disconnected from the battery or from the wall, it one-of-one fully charge and it will probably dive within about 40 minutes if you're lucky. It's a really, really crappy Asus laptop. So I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh I was forced to record an episode on that monstrosity. But we're back at now we got my full setup. My computer is kinda fixed. It's fixed, it's running. It's just. It's a shell of its once former self. I've got a fraction of the product on my computer that I used to have as far as data, all because I had to get a new H or a new ssd. So unfortunately. But today we're going to be looking at the top 10 paradox rift. We're gonna look into a old story. Old meaning like a month and a bit ago I had this in the back burner and forgot to add it to previous episodes. I wanted to because it was kind of funny but just more interesting things came up. It's basically, you know, Yu-Gi-Oh Gi oh, players are disgusting, Smell horrific in some cases. But then we're going to look at the most valuable Eevee card as of right now. And that GameStop is worse than the Scalpers. Yu-Gi-Oh And then we're going to do our Gen 3 pick for the Pokedex and as well as our pick for the Pandora for Dragon Frontier. But first, let's get into the top 10 paradox rift. Starting in at number one is Groudon the IR at $120.50, which is really not that bad. No, not at all. Number two is Altaria Ex the Sir for like quite literally half at 60.45. Yu-Gi-Oh Now, one of the most underrated Pokemon, number three is Morpeko the Illustration Rare 51.13. And for like a $12 less than that, you've got Pulsi the Illustration Rare for $50 and $0.01. Okay. Just a little bit below that is. It's brother, sister, cousin, minus, or my none. The Illustration Rare for 44.54. I pulled the Plusle. The Plusle is pretty nice. You know what? Both of them are kind of nice. I kind of like them. Yu-Gi-Oh they're cool because they work off the arts. Work off each other, right? Yu-Gi-Oh And while the cards in general work off each other, they're kind of useless by themselves, but together they kind of work out in a sense. Yu-Gi-Oh As far as, like, battle goes, they do that with that pairing a lot, too, because I think in Hoenn, you know, the third gen, that was like one of the first, like, like, pair Pokemon, but not exactly the same. Does that make sense? Like, they were. Yu-Gi-Oh plus and minus. So it was just like. It's a cool little concept. Yu-Gi-Oh But then we go from the cute little electric Pokemon to a giant steel type. Number six is Steelix, the Illustration Rare at 41.79. And then number seven, it's roaring moon ex the sir for $40.26. Number eight, really not that bad. No, it. Well, I mean, that's the thing, right? It's a newer Pokemon, you know, Roaring Moon. Yu-Gi-Oh It did okay in the TCG at that point, but it really wasn't. It's not as popular now. Yu-Gi-Oh Number eight is Mantyke, the Illustration Rare, which is, you know, a Pokemon from Johto that you don't hear of very often. It's 39.81. So just a little bit below roaring moon. Number nine is go dango ex d sir at $37.04. And just a little bit below that. And number ten is garchomp the sir at $36.47 for a grand total of $239. That's insane. Yu-Gi-Oh that's. See, there's certain sets I'm looking back at, trying to see what I would get. Yu-Gi-Oh I would get that. That's not bad at all. That actually. That cannot be right. How is that? $200? Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I'm gonna have to. I mean, I will put the new total because that's not it. So it's probably how much you think it is? Like four or five hundred. Well, it's gotta be, because while you're looking at one, two, there's $220 just for wall. $280 just for the top three. Four eighty. That's crazy. Yu-Gi-Oh It's got to be like. All right, never mind. Because at first I'm like, if it's that cheap, I'm gonna get it right. I must have been doing this while at work or some stupid thing and typing the prices on the computer. At some point, Yu-Gi-Oh I got mixed up. It happens. But next we're going to look at how car shop suspends the Yu-Gi-Oh Gi oh tournaments over smelly players. An organ shop, right. It makes me think of the TCG game that I play. Well, I used to play. Yu-Gi-Oh I. I gotta. I don't know if you know what it is, but it's. It's funny because you end up having smelly players in there and then you have to Zebra them. You Zebra them. You, you can sell this body Zebra there, but you can go, literally go up to the customers if they have like a stench coming from them and Zebra them. Okay, it's funny. It's really funny. But that's what it reminds me of. An organ shop has halted its Ego tournament. This is going back about a month ago now, after receiving multiple complaints and bad reviews due to smelly players. Chronos Games and Gifts, an independently owned game store in Beaverton, Oregon is going viral for taking a hard stance against poor hygiene. In a statement posted to his public Discord channel, the shop confirmed that it is suspending its Yu-Gi-Oh Gi O tournament for a week at that point placing the blame on stinky duelists. They go on to say, quote, we have had issues with people mistreating the restrooms and multiple bad reviews because of poor hygiene. As a reminder, we encourage players to follow the Konami guidelines and report anyone who does not. Konami famously implemented the official tournament rules specifically targeting player hygiene all the way back in 2019, saying that all persons attending a tournament, not just players, must be clean and wear clean clothing or risk being penalized. You are expected to be clean when you enter a tournament. The official Yu-Gi-Oh Gi oh tournament guide says neglecting to wash or put on clean clothes contributes to an unpleasant atmosphere at the event as the tournament can be crowded and the day can be long. Persons who neglect self care to the point that they are negatively impacting the tournament may be asked to correct the issue to continue in the event. Now, at the time the policy was welcomed among players and Kronos Games and Gifts is similarly receiving praise from local attendees for keeping its venue stench free. However, they're not the only one to do this. Back in 2025, Nebraska Pokemon organized play Facebook page published a statement reminding players to keep themselves clean as laid out in the official Play Pokemon Tournament Handbook, which Also includes a section detailing requirements for player hygiene. That one goes on to say individuals who are also required to maintain a socially acceptable level of hygiene during the event. Depending on the attire level of hygiene, the tournament organizer may allow for a tournament participant to change or update their personal hygiene and attire and return to the venue if the participant refuses to comply with tournament staff requests. This is grounds for removal from the tournament and venue, and a participant must relinquish their badge to tournament staff. I mean, goes on to say, I mean, just have common sense, don't. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh seriously, I get it. Like, okay, so there's. There has been times where, like, for instance, we have this thing up here called Nutri Farm. It's like a food service. You can pay a ridiculous amount of money for the entire year and you get like an entire year's worth of frozen goods and this and that. They like to praise themselves on organic or environmentally friendly cleaners rather than your typical, say, tide or dawn or whatever they use environmentally stuff. Which. The environmental stuff. Cool. I guess it's good for the environment, but it doesn't actually keep your clothes smelling fresh. It doesn't keep your clothes looking clean. Yu-Gi-Oh There has been times where, like, I will pull a shirt straight out of the dryer and it will still smell like work. So it's like, cool, you're saving the environment, but now I'm gonna have to wash the clothes a second time. Two to three times. Yu-Gi-Oh So what environment are you saving here? Because it isn't ours. But I mean, it's common sense to wear deodorant. Yu-Gi-Oh You know, be like a teenager. Teenagers freaking douse themselves in frickin Axe body Zebra nowadays. Freaking do that. Yu-Gi-Oh Common sense don't stink. Yu-Gi-Oh But next we look at the vintage Pokemon grill that has become the most valuable EV card of all time. A lot of cards considered modern grails in the TCG are the Eeveelutions, which are eight of the unique Pokemon that evolved from Eevee. Now, however, Eevee is beloved Pokemon and a irreplaceable. Sorry. Part of the franchise. But the character's card market has been overlooked in recent years. Now, after years of sitting back in the Pokemon like Umbreon Shine with that stupid Moonbreon Evie's. And then. And then when the people say the Sun Brion, which made me mad. Oh, that made me mad. That. I'm sorry, that made me mad. Yu-Gi-Oh If someone says, oh, the sun beyond, it's. Yu-Gi-Oh No. Okay. Yu-Gi-Oh Now this particular card that we're talking about being like the most expensive grail here. There's a caveat to that. You see, in order for it to be the most expensive card, it has to be precise. It's got to be a PSA 10, which, good luck, it's a 2002 Eevee Reverse Hollow legendary collection number 74 and a gem mint 10. Now what's hilarious though is when you look at the picture of this gem mint 10 EV card because of how they scanned it, you just see the, like the, the hollow foil, like the, I call it like the firework Exploding Hollow. Yep. It just looks ridiculous. But I'm, I'm sure if you looked at the card in real life, it would be like, oh, that's a great beautiful card. But just seeing a scanned version of it from psa, it looks so ridiculous. Oh my gosh. I can only imagine. You see, Legendary Collection is considered by many one of the Grail sets from the vintage era of Pokemon, largely due to its unique Reverse Hollow design, which is by far shinier and more Yu-Gi-Oh catching than most Reverse hollows. Now, this PSA 10 Reverse Hollow Eevee from Legendary Collection sold for $66,000 on Fnatic Collect, making it the most valuable EV card of all time after surpassing the previous record of 48,000 set by Melee Pokemon Scramble Eevee in 2024. Now, this EV card is one of the many top dollar Legendary Collection sales from the most recent Fanatics Collect auction which featured a six digit Pikachu sale in the record setting PSA 10 Gengar. Damn. But there isn't just that Eevee card. There's more. You see, there's a 2009 Pokemon Japanese Eevee, the Melee Pokemon Scramble 1 Gemin 10, which is a number 19. It looks like the Pokemon Rumble version, but like the Japanese version, that one was, you know, previously discussed at being 48, 000. But then you have this. There's another one. It's a 2000pm Japanese promo Eevee Hollow 500 point fan club and PSA 10 number 133, which looks distinctly familiar to like the English artwork for. I want to say it almost looks like Legendary Collection, but not quite. This Eevee is also not part of the Mainline set. It was instead released as a special promo card available through the Pokemon Card Fan Club in the early 2000s. Anyone who had 500 get points within their rewards program could Uptown a copy of this unique EV piece. A PSA10 version of the card sold for 43,200 last March became the second highest selling Eevee card of all time, but has since been Tribute down to third on the list. The next one is the 2013 Pokemon Black and white Eevee. The Sylveon Collection promo gem mint 10 Number Black White 94 the background. It's got like the same shapes, kind of of like Togepi, just like psychedelic colors in a sense. That one for a PSA 10 sold for $25,000 last April through Insane. Yu-Gi-Oh So just goes to show, you know. Yu-Gi-Oh People love, you know, Gengars and Charizards and all that crap, but apparently freaking Eevee Evie's coming back for vengeance. It is. That's why, you know, that card, I know it sounds really silly, but that Reverse Hollow Eevee from Prismatic that they use as a stamped Pokemon Day card. Yes. You know, I'm talking about because I. I have. I don't know where it is, but like I feel like getting a bunch of those is actually a really good thing because it's looked over a lot just because it's a Reverse Hollow. Okay. But Eevee. Eevee has a lot of potential because obviously Umbreon all the other evolutions, but that Eevee, especially because it was for Pokemon Day 2025. So I feel like it's worth grabbing as many like making a Pandora of those. Yu-Gi-Oh almost because they go for like $4 a piece right now. But I mean, you know, I have a feeling they're gonna go up. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh that'll change. They'll probably go up to like, freaking. Even if they went up to. For example, if you have a Pandora full of them. Right. Of like, for. Okay. I don't know. A Pandora has, like, depending on the size of the Pandora is a lot of slots. But even if you have a smaller Pandora if you. If they go up to even like $20, that's five times in your money. Right. From four, technically. Because if they're $4, they go up to 20. Because five times four is 20. Yu-Gi-Oh So it would be literally, you know, five times in your money for each card. That'd be a decent amount of money. I think they have a lot of potential. And like you said, Evie's kind of coming. Like, Evie's. People are realizing like, Yu-Gi-Oh freaking Umbreon. You know, this great. That's like the main one that people are after. But like, when it comes to the other evolutions, like, it's funny because everyone has their favorite. Everyone has their least favorite. But I feel like with Evie, especially, like, who doesn't like Evie, you know. Yu-Gi-Oh Because it's the start of all of them. So, like, it has a lot of potential. Yu-Gi-Oh And finally we're gonna dish on GameStop for being. Yu-Gi-Oh Then scalpers. I'm mad too, because I recently bought two products from them and I only did it because my local card shop wouldn't have. Didn't have it. Didn't have the product. It's for the anniversary and I only bought one of. One for me, one for my boyfriend. That's it. And a sticker. But I. I'm. I hate buying from them now. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, we. I think the closest GameStop or Eevee games for us, it's like a 45 minute drive away from us, so it's not even worth it. Yes. I wouldn't. It's in a big city. I wouldn't bother. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't want to go to that city. It's a. It's horrific. But for many collectors, GameStop's practice of marking up Pokemon cards and a ton of other TCGs is pretty well known at this point as the company doesn't do much to hide it. For example, Ascended Heroes booster bundle costs just under $27 at the Pokemon Center. With each booster bundle, including six packs of cards, that averages out to around $4.50 per pack. Not a rageous amount for color, for cardboard. That can also be used to play a game. Right. However, if you go over to gamestop.com, the American version, you'll see the exact same product listed for $90, or a bit over $85. If you'd pay for GameStop Pro, membership on its own costs another $25 a year. That right there is a markup of over 200%, resulting in packs that cost closer to $15 each. Suddenly, things aren't so affordable, especially if you're a kid trying to scrap together enough funds just to buy some cards. And while GameStop's gouging isn't quite as bad as less popular sets like Perfect Order and Chaos Rising, paying two times over the retail price will never feel good. Now, there is a caveat to that. To be fair, in GameStop's version of this, Pokemon center can sell at a cheaper price because it's their own damn product. It's in their own warehouse. Gamestop, Walmart, Target every mom and pop shop who get bent over far worse than, say, Walmart or GameStop or whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh they all got paid their distribution price. Their distribution also needs to make money. So Pokemon center is charging, say 27. Your distribution is probably charging you, I don't know, $60. So now you have to charge 90 just so make a decent profit. Right, because you still gotta pay your employee to sell the damn thing. Yu-Gi-Oh but you know, it's like, again, I get it, but I It's just, it's just, it's. Honestly. Yu-Gi-Oh It's disgusting how hard it is to get your hands on something that you enjoy collecting. Yu-Gi-Oh Recently though, GameStop reached a whole new low when it sent out an email alerting people that it was taking in store pre orders for the 30th anniversary celebration set due out later this fall. Yep. Which by far the most anticipated release of the year. So I figured I'd mosey on down to the local branch to see how much gouging was happening at this time, apparently. And boy, was they not prepared. Similar To Ascended Heroes, 30th Anniversary Booster bottles are going for about $90. Meanwhile, the price for the Elite Trainer boxes, which is often the most sought after product, we're going for 170. Wait, wait, wait. Canadian or. No, American. I got mine. I went to GameStop. I only got two. One for me, one for my boyfriend, like I said. And I got them each for a hundred. So I got. Oh, you're lucky. So I. I spent $200, mind you, after a couple days that they released it, that they were announced was already up 200 of ETB. Yep, there we go. Yu-Gi-Oh But then. So I got, I got it before it went nuts, right? Pretty much, Yu-Gi-Oh But then things got extremely depressing when the very helpful clerk told the guy that the price of the 30th anniversary UPC at GameStop was set for $600. Compared to that, the Mega Charizard UPC from last year's Phantasmal Flames, which cost just 120 direct from Pokemon Center. That is insane. Again, granted, Pokemon company has yet to reveal official pricing for these products. But if upcoming pricing is in line with previous offerings, that means GameStop is marketing the product up by a whopping 400%. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Which. It's awful. I. I only got those boxes because I knew they were going to be important and I had no other means to get them. But like I said, I. I honestly do not like shopping at. I mean, here, Obviously you have EB Games here, it's GameStop. But like. Yu-Gi-Oh I honestly don't like shopping there. I try not to now. Mm. Because I try to just go to my local card shop because they're just legit. Three guys that own a business, you know, it's not this greedy. I mean, it's not like you said, they. Companies pay big. Companies pay way less for their product than a mom and pop or a card shop. Like I said, like this. Card shops, one of a kind. So like these Guys, you know, they. They have to spend a lot to make a lot of. Yep. You know. Yu-Gi-Oh It's crazy, but I was gonna say finally. But second, last thing on our list is our picks for Gen 3 from the Pokedex. So before we talked or before we hit record on this podcast, I was trying to figure out why the hell I Beckett the Pokemon that I Beckett for our binders for this week and next week. I Goldin figure out why I Beckett the Pokemon that I Beckett for next week. This will be a hint, ironically. So my pick for the Gen 3 Pokedex is duskull simply for the fact that it wanders lost among the deep darkness of midnight. There is an oft told abolishment given to misbehaving children that this Pokemon will spirit away bad children who earn scoldings from their mothers. That's interesting. That gives, like, drift balloon. Yu-Gi-Oh Type that makes drift bloon sound innocent. Yu-Gi-Oh it does. Makes Duskull sound a whole lot worse. It does. Yu-Gi-Oh But what did you pick for your gen 3 pick? So mine was basically one that I kind of wanted to search, and it's actually one of my favorite gen 3s, but I have the Ruby and the Zebra version of it. So the second one's a little funny, a little interesting, though more. But I'll do. Can I do both Ruby and Zebra Sure. So Ruby says, at first sight, Poochyena takes a bite at anything that moves. This Pokemon chases after prey until the victim becomes exhausted. However, it may turn tail if the prey strikes back. And then the Zebra version I found interesting was Poochiena is an omnivore. It'll eat anything. A distinction feature is how long its fangs are compared to its body. This Pokemon tries to intimidate its foals by making the hair on its tail bristle out. I just found it interesting in the Zebra I like how basically were. But I liked how the Zebra said something about how the distinguishing feature is how large the fangs are compared to its body. Like, we look at a picture of Poochena, and, like, they don't even look that big. They look like a regular, like, fangs. But I guess technically they're supposed to be, like, big canines, and I just found that interesting. Yu-Gi-Oh And finally, our pick for the binders. This one is coming from what the hell we were doing. It is Dragon Frontier. Yep. Yu-Gi-Oh So from my pick, and again, I remembered why I Beckett this Pokemon. Oh, you do remember. Cool. Yu-Gi-Oh Part of it was for what you kind of said, but part of it was because of what it is, in a sense. So I Beckett the female nidoran, the Delta species. Number 56 out of 100. One reason why I Beckett it is for two things. Well, technically, three things. One, the background. It looks prehistoric in a sense. It does looks like Nidoran is, you know, walking among the dinosaurs. Yu-Gi-Oh Number two, it's weak against psychic, which is hilarious because it. Because it essentially becomes a poison type when it gets older, you know, or evolves into needle queen. Neither queen is a kind of a poison type. And poison Topps are usually associated with psychic, in a sense. Or dark. Yu-Gi-Oh Later on, depending on your version. I'm just looking at it as we talk about it, too, by the way. Yu-Gi-Oh But number three was because it's a steel type. Yep. Which, you know. Yu-Gi-Oh Okay. Delta species. Okay, I get the concept. But, like, who the hell would see a steel type Nidoran? I know, it's pretty interesting, but also, like, wouldn't that be kind of cool to see a steel type, say, needle queen, like a legit steel type? That would be kind of freaking cool. That would be pretty cool. Yu-Gi-Oh that would be cool. What did you pick for your. I Beckett a trainer. You might have a guess if you've seen it. You might not. I. Because initially I was gonna pick an actual Pokemon, but then I realized the set has a trainer in it that I needed for my own collection. And I like Pokemon cameos in actual, like, people characters, trainer cards. Kind of like how, like, when it was the Pokemon breeder, I liked how there was Dragonites in, like, a field, and it was cool. It looked like a nursery. So anyways, with this one, it was Mr. Stone's project. The card is number 77 of 101. Basically, it has Mr. Stone being, like, in the front. He's looking at some sort of gadget. I don't know what it is. There's, like, two professors in the background, and then there's a ride shoe in the background listening in the conversation. And, I mean, I did it mainly for having the raichu in it because, again, we know I'm. I'm a ride shoe Fanatics But also, it's a basic trainer card in the sense that all it does is allow you to search your deck for up to two basic energy cards and to show them to your opponent, put them into your hand, shuffle your deck afterwards, or search your discard pile for two basic energy cards, show them to your opponent, and put them in hand. So basically, it just helps you get more energy cards for Pokemon for moves that you need the extra help in, basically.
