But just wanted to kind of give you guys a little bit of a heads up that you will hear some stuff in the background on her end. But once we got past that section, everything else was all hunky dory. With that being said, here's today's episode. What is up everyone? We're back at again for a brand new week. So today we're going to be looking at the 10 Twilight Masquerade cards. A graded Pokemon Game Boy game sells for about 2 million US. A PSA faces a lawsuit for misleading practices. Apparently a Collector lost about twelve hundred dollars in two counterfeit or sorry collectors in total lost about twelve hundred dollars in two Counterfeit Pokemon card deals, followed by our Gen 6 pick for the Pokedex and finally our pick for the binders for Mysterious Treasures. So starting off with the top 10 Twilight Masquerade, starting off at number one is the Greninja Sir Ex at $373.17. Number two is the Perlin or Purin sir for $165.62 and then significantly drops between the first and second one. For number three is Eevee, the Illustration Rare at $95.12. Number four is Carmine the Sir for $55.53. Number five though is the Chansey illustration at 54.44 followed by Blood Moon Ursaluna Ex sir for $47.50. Number seven is Lana's Aid, the Sir at $39.77 Sinus Cheetah or since Cheetah Ex the Sir is 34.74. Number nine is a alternate view of the Perlin I think might have been Perlin. It's the Hisuian Growlithe Illustration Rare for $31.28. It's the is her view looking down at Growlithe. Yu-Gi-Oh Finally number 10 is Kieran the sir at 28.76 for a grand total of $925.93. Freaking crazy. Yu-Gi-Oh Almost a thousand dollars for just the top ten cards. However, now we're going to be looking at how a Pokemon game created for $2 million. This is the Pokemon Yellow version, the special Pikachu edition. It was graded by none other than PSA as a 10 in a sealed A plus plus. Now there is a slight caveat to this. When you look at the game, it states as the 1999 Game Boy, the Dubai Collection, made in Japan, pixelated rating, blah blah blah. It's. Well it's psa so you know we're gonna get into a backstory behind PSA later. However, in a groundbreaking private transaction, it has set a new high water mark in the retro gaming market. A collection of sealed first print original Game Boy titles, Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow recently sold for an unprecedented $2 million. This was by a private collectibles brokerage, Nostalgics. The deal represents the second highest video game sale in history trailing only a 3 million Zebra Mario Bros transaction. Now known as the Dubai Collection, the set of Pokemon Game Boy games was assembled by an anonymous seller for over 20 years. The games feature extraordinary condition ratings from PSA. Both Pokemon Red and Yellow achieved the Flawless PSA 10 grades, the only known first print copies to do so. While Pokemon Blue scored a exceptional PSA 9.8 grade. The set was co acquired by two anonymous private buyers who considered Red the ultimate centerpiece due to its pop culture legacy and severe condition rarity market obsessors note that the multi million dollar transaction signals a major shift in the industry with an investment grade video game as increasingly recognized alongside premier comic books, trading cards and fine art as legitimate financial assets. Apparently. The breakdown above from Hobby Specters features the nostalgic founder Nathan discussing the specific valuation breakdown and market trends behind the landmark 2 million dollar Pokemon game sale. If you look at the. Well, I'll put the link to this article in the podcast. There is a video that you can watch on YouTube that kind of breaks down everything more in depth I guess in a sense. But I mean at the end of the day it's. Yu-Gi-Oh they're, they're very, very in good condition. Yu-Gi-Oh but I mean it's, it's psa. There's quite a bit of bullshit regarding PSA just on a normal basis. Speaking of which, though, the Pokemon card Greater PSA faces a class action lawsuit for the quote unquote misleading practices. You see, PSA is in a tough spot right now as the Pokemon trading card game popularity surges and thousands see it as a great investment opportunity. Apparently the grading submissions have skyrocketed. Coupled with the rise of the new TCGs like One Piece, Riftbound and Lorcana, the company is struggling to keep up. The company recently increased the turnaround time across all tiers before closing the before closing the lowest tiers to catch up. I apologize, I have someone yelling my name. Really. But oh, I know I'm on the podcast investing hundreds of millions of dollars in the new grading facilities. Yet it's also still struggling. These struggles are now being compounded further as a new RICO class action lawsuit has been launched in the state of Baltimore that legends PSA sold consumers, manufactured uncertainty and engineered and monetized reliance by selling more than a mere abstract opinion. So in hindsight, this new lawsuit was filed by a guy named Nicholas Funk who on behalf of a proposed nationwide class of consumers issuing Collectors Universe Incorporated, which is PSA and Collectors Holding Incorporated. Now, according to the lawsuit, PSA has marketed its grading as objective, impartial, expert and standardized. The complaint argues that it's actually subjective, inconsistent, financially conflicted, manipulated to maximize revenue, and designed to pressure market reliance on psa. The first point Frank raises concerns is the quality of the PSA graders, the guidelines they follow, the training they receive, and the deadlines they meet or that they have to meet. Um, he goes on to say, PSA markets its grading graders sorry as experts, but it's only filings and materials reveal a far different system. PSA does not even require prior professional grading experience, specialized training or certification for card grader positions. Instead, it hires individuals without grading backgrounds and trains them internally, he alleges. The plaintiff further alleges that PSA's grading outcomes are adversely affected by production quotas, pressure from short review windows, undisclosed changes to grading criteria, inconsistent application of published standards. Each of these issues adversely impacts the reliability and objectively, the card grading. PSA tells consumers that grading is criteria based, standardized and reliable, but its grading process relies heavily on a subjective Yu-Gi-Oh appeal override that is neither fixed, measurable, nor properly disclosed. Rather than define what is, I appeal though the objective condition criteria, PSA defines it by asking what will the market accept for this particular issue. The complaint also alleges that PSA supplements its grading workforce with temporary contractors during periods of high submission volume, contributing to inconsistent Grading. It also alleges that PSA has a vested, vetted. Sorry. Invested. Sorry. A vested interest in managing the population grades, specifically gem mint tens, and that it hands out helping it manipulate the card's market value. The plaintiff alleges that PSA manages gem mint populations by retaining ratio based grading practices, heightened scrutiny of the cards that feature premium players or characters, and other concealed grading practices. A limit placed on a card's grade for any reason is not an objective determination, is not even a good faith. Subjective opinion is a commercially managed output calculated by pressure, scarcity support pricing and extracts fees from the market that PSA created and from which defendants themselves benefit downstream. The lawsuit argues that limiting the Number of government 10 grades in circulation helps preserve this scarcity, increasing the value attached to PSA 10s and encouraging collectors to continue submitting cards in pursuit of the highest grade. The lawsuit alleges that PSA's inconsistency is profitable, saying shifting criteria on disclosed subjectivity and inconsistent grading creates repeat demand which preserves dependence on the PSA criteria, thereby generating additional revenue through resubmissions, crossovers and. And cracking stable, transparent and consistently applied grading would reduce that repeat demand. However, PSA has not responded publicly to the allegations. As with any new filed civil complaint, the claims represent the plaintiff's allegations and have not been tested in court. I mean. Yu-Gi-Oh how many times have we seen a grader or a card come back from grading. You think it's gem mint and comes back like a. An 8 or a 7. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Or they damage it or Yu-Gi-Oh or they freaking damage it and then claim that you sent it in damage. Yu-Gi-Oh Speaking of which, I did see a video. It wasn't psa, it was tag. Tag grading. So apparently tag grading is considered like one of the best graders now. Or they're starting to get that reputation for one of the best graders because they use the Yu-Gi-Oh scanner or some BS thing. They need to do some like high res scan of your. Of your card. Whereas apparently PSA just scans it when they send you the report. So apparently TAG does all this high graphic scanning and all this crap. In this short little video that I saw, this person sent a. Oh God. Was it base set or base set Charizard 1 to 2 but sent it. The scan that they received looked Flawless. However it got, I think it got a 9 or could have potentially gotten a 10. I'm not too sure. Probably more likely a 9. However when she received the card back. The top left hand corner. Yu-Gi-Oh top left hand corner depicts like the top layer of the card is missing. So, like, you see the, the interior, like cardboard of the card itself, but it wasn't holographic. The card itself was holographic. But the cardboard that you saw or the card stock that you saw in that section wasn't holographic. It was white. So whether or not it was before the holographic printing, because I'm pretty sure back then they holographed, printed the entire card and then added to the card for everywhere that shouldn't be holographic. Similar to kind of what they do now where they just. It's just an extra layer of print. Yu-Gi-Oh but because it was white, I'm wondering if it was before the holograph or after the holograph. And you're seeing the white inside texture of the backside of the card, right? Yu-Gi-Oh So the person got their card back, they sent a complaint to Tag saying, hey, like, you guys broke my, like you damaged my card toward a corner. It's. It's not a 9 or a 10 or whatever their quote unquote solution was. Well, we can't verify that, but send it back to us and we'll regrade it. Like, well, I mean, that's the thing. Like, it's gonna come back, you know. Yu-Gi-Oh like, well, of course, single digits, but like, it's gonna come back like what, a one or two, you know, it. It's like, so you, let's say you get a card back. It's now worth, I don't know, a thousand bucks. Let's say it's worth a thousand dollars that it's graded a 9 or 10 or whatever. But they damaged a card. And so they go, well, we have to recertify it. So you have to send it back to us and we'll regrade it. Okay, so you regrade that card, it's now worth, I don't know, 50 bucks, 100 bucks. Like you just got screwed out, all that money. What happens if you turned around and bought that card for six, you know, $600 or whatever, got graded, it came back a grade of whatever that it would have equaled out to, say, $1,000 evaluation for that card. Now it's worth 50 to a hundred dollars. Well, now you just overpaid for that card inadvertently because a grading company destroyed your card. They didn't offer this person apparently too much other than, you know, we'll regret it and we'll give you, I think he's a refund or a discount on your next grading, which, like, okay, he still damaged a pretty sought after card. Yu-Gi-Oh And it's like, oh, well, oops, you know, we'll just refund you or. Or give you a credit for grading. Like, if somebody were to damage my card like that, you think I'm ever gonna freaking turn around? Like, Yu-Gi-Oh okay. You know, you screwed up once. Here's another expensive card. Absolutely not. Like, there's no way in freaking hell that's happening. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, just. I mean, that's the thing. I. I made this comment in one of the videos I made for Instagram for our sponsorship here with Evo Retro. They sent me a bunch of stuff, including, like, bumpers for PSA cards and a giant acrylic case kind of thing for a TAG card. The PSA bumpers were cool. They're like a weird. Like, one was like a weird, like, psychedelic color. Ish. The other one was kind of like a Think like a icy blue kind of mixed color. It was kind of cool. But I don't really have any PSA cards. I mean, in fact, I really don't think I do at all. Maybe. Yu-Gi-Oh I think you mentioned that before, that you don't really have any. Yu-Gi-Oh I think I have one PSA card, and it's. I don't even care about the card. It's for sale. Our son has a couple PSA cards. Our daughter has one, but it's attached to a frame, so we're not gonna rip it apart. So, Yu-Gi-Oh we. We gave the. The bumpers to our son, which, I mean, is good because he's more likely to drop the. The slabs than anybody else in the house, so they'll go to good use for him. But at the same time, like, I have no TAG graded cards. I. I really have no intention on buying tag graded cards. Even before hearing about the BS with tag. In all honesty, I have no desire for any graded cards. I used to think grading was great. I. Even back then, I didn't give a crap about PSA or bgs if I were to grade with someone. I graded the cards with mmt, which was local here in our province in Canada. And even then, you know, even with it being local, it still costs an arm and a leg to grade. Like, nowhere near as bad as PSA or BGS or even CGC now. But, you know, what was the point? You know, I. I get. I get some of these cars back, and they were well centered, they looked clean, and they come back a six or a seven or an eight or. You know, you get the. The bullshit of like a 9.5, and it's like, really, like, what the hell stopped us from getting a 10? Did the guy have someone pissing his Cheerios that morning and now he's giving out 9.5? Like it's the lottery. Like, like what the hell? What stopped him from getting a 10? Beckett the only one that tells you the why, right? Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, I'm pretty sure Tag does as well, but if they don't, like, freaking. Well, PSA doesn't have zero point fives, but I think they used to possibly. I thought they had a 0.5 at one point. That's what I'm saying. I think. I think they did at one point and then they got rid of it. But I find it stupid for like, for any. Like you said, for anything to have the 0.5, it's like, what the. Why is it a 9.5? Yu-Gi-Oh And they don't tell you? I don't know, probably about five, maybe six years ago. I just don't give a, about graded cards. Yu-Gi-Oh I, I, I, I simply like raw cards. Because raw is raw. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. You could have two of the exact same raw cards. Hell even send it to the same damn grading company. Send it to the same greater and I guarantee you they will come back at a different grade. They could be identical and I guarantee you they will come back a different grade from the same damn grader. Yu-Gi-Oh most likely. Yu-Gi-Oh So it's like, you know what? Who gives a shit? I, I stand by near mint, light play, mile play, heavy play and damaged. That's, that's my damn criteria. Yu-Gi-Oh I, I don't give a crap about PSA or CGC or BGS or, or any of the small time guys. I don't give a crap. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't blame you. I, I know some people are all about the grading and I'm like, I don't really care, honestly. Yu-Gi-Oh I just want one of the cards that I have. Obviously if it's in better condition, that's fine, but I'm not like going to freak out over a little bit that's wrong with the card. Especially since a lot of my cards are like, the vintage ones are, no, nowhere near perfect. And that's the thing. Like even I don't think a lot of the grading companies even have like UV protection built into their acrylics. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't think some of them, I think do, but not all of them. And like we all know sun fades your cards and I mean, you know, we hear it all the time, oh, don't have your cards near, near a window and blah, blah, blah. I mean I have graded cards behind me and if you're watching the video version of this right behind me in my recording studio and there's a basement window right in front of my face, it's not dark as heck in here, but it's dark enough that you don't have direct sunlight. But even then the case behind me is UV protected. So even if the grading companies don't protect them, at least I'm protecting them. Exactly. And again, like the cards that I have in my graded case, they're nothing to write home about. Like I have an ancient mew, which, that's my sought after grail. I love ancient mew. Again, it got a 9.5 from MMT. Why the hell didn't get a 10? No, you know there's a misprint of that car too, right? Yep. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh that's the thing. There's like, what, four or five different prints of it. Yu-Gi-Oh I didn't know that till recently. I only knew of the original and then the natito one. Yu-Gi-Oh But I mean, that's the thing. It's like, I, I. Yu-Gi-Oh I have some graded cards, but other than that, I really don't give a crap about them. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, I had a bunch of the band cards, and a buddy of mine down in the US Said, hey, you know, I'm working with D grade. They'll give you a discount if you grade with them. And I was, I was hesitant because I didn't really want to send it down there and all the way back, because at that point you might as well send it to PSA or whatever, right? Yu-Gi-Oh But I figured, you know what? It's a new company. They're claiming this. They're claiming that I'm getting a decent discount even with the conversion. It's a, It's a decent conversion. Yu-Gi-Oh screw it. I'll send. I think it was like six cards down, you know, only cost me, like, I think $100 Canadian for everything. And it wasn't bad. I mean, I knew they weren't going to be in great, great shape. I think they came back in, like, anywhere from a 6 to 8 or whatever. But that's the thing. It's like, it's another brand that has a slightly different case than whatever, so good luck finding a way to properly protect that slab, whether it be a bumper or acrylic box or whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh but that's the thing, you know, when you have every person starting a new company for grading and each of their graded cases is slightly different than their competitors, so they don't get sued, you're kind of screwed as far as protection and, or even trying to. That's why I don't, I don't want a grade cards because, like. Yu-Gi-Oh I just, Unless I'm there, like at a convention or something. And they do it in front of you. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know if that's even a possibility, but I know PSA does. They do it. They were doing it. I think they. That I would do. Yu-Gi-Oh If I was there, but if I'm not there. No. And then sending it in the mail, like, I have certain cards if I. That are worth money raw, and if I send them in the mail, I'm gonna, like, this is not worth the risk. Yu-Gi-Oh that's the thing. Right. It's like, you have to, like, Pay a substantial AM to have it tracked and, you know, package it in a way that you pray to God the, the postal worker or the shipping company doesn't decide to play flag football with it, you know, or, or someone steal it from the freaking postal services. Yu-Gi-Oh I think I told you, the tag team 10, they freaking ripped open. Yu-Gi-Oh well, and that's the thing, right, because everybody looks at the addresses periodically and goes, oh, this, this is going to a grading company or this is coming back from a grading company. Yu-Gi-Oh Or they see like cards in the name of the other one of the people. You know how people use their Instagram name sometimes and they'll see something, something cards and they're like, oh, okay. So that's the thing. Like I even was shipping with my ebay store I used to have back in the day, just I think it was originally named like Corbeau Sales or whatever to hide it. Yu-Gi-Oh well, even then, like anything like, like that, it would just have it as the name tag. And so every time I shipped a card, you know, the majority of the time the freaking card came back in the mail saying, oh, inconsistent postage and stuff like that. Even though it was more, sometimes I paid more for postage than I probably should have. And so I started complaining and said, look, you know, I have a scale at home. I have the Canada Post shipping template, and I know that this envelope can fit through the slot and blah, blah, blah. It's within these specs, it's within this weight. This is what the postage costs, right? And she goes, Yu-Gi-Oh that's what the Post costs and that's what you paid. So, you know, why did it get bounced back? And it's because they've somebody at a sorting facility figured, oh, this is a, you know, an online store or whatever, selling things and shipping it by letter mail rather than track shipping. And we want that track shipping money rather than a stamp. I mean, jokes on them. There are probably hundreds of the third party shipping companies where you can get discounts. I mean, hell, ebay gives you a discount on your shipping rates. But I also have one for my business where, you know, I could take that same package and print out a FedEx label down. It cost me $12. Meanwhile, I can take that same package to FedEx and it would cost me almost $30. Yu-Gi-Oh but that $12 doesn't go to FedEx. It goes to whatever house shipping company I used to as part of FedEx. So FedEx doesn't actually really get that money or they get a fraction of that money and I'm friends with the franchisee owner for UPS here in our town and she said, Yu-Gi-Oh we hate it when people bring in pre labeled stuff that they bought off of a third party site because they're screwing us out of the money. And it's like, well, I would rather spend 12 than 30. So you know, obviously people are going to use a third party site to pay for their track, for their packages because it costs less than going to the actual store. Yu-Gi-Oh But it is what it is. Right. But finally we're going to be looking at the Martin County Sheriff's Office. I have no idea where the hell that is. That. Oh, it's in Florida. Stuart, Florida. So they are investigating two separate cases involving fake Pokemon cards after victims reported losing a combined twelve hundred dollars in deals arranged through Facebook Marketplace. Good old Facebook, Yu-Gi-Oh In the first case, deputies said a collector met a seller at a local gas station to trade nine cards and cash. Investigators said the seller rushed through the transaction and left before the cars could be inspected. Once home, the victim realized the cards were counterfeit and the seller blocked him online. Yu-Gi-Oh that freaking happens. Ten days later, deputy said another collector reported a similar experience also in Stuart, Florida. The victim traded collectible cards, card boxes, sorry. And sent money through Zelle in exchange for two cards that were later determined to be fake. So it's like a trade payment in a sense. Patrick Sutherland, who organizes the PD Card show from the Treasure coast to. From Treasure coast to South Florida, said the trading card market has surged in value. And even then the market for even specialty or specifically just Pokemon or trading cards in general is the most lucrative market that there is. The rising value often comes down to nostalgia and scarcity. Once you're out of their print run, they are never recycled. Back in sorta you do get reprints periodically, but in different versions. He said authentic cards often have specific textures, coloring and holographic features that can be difficult to counterfeit if you rub your finger across it and you can feel texture. He also pointed out details on a Pokemon card box similar to the ones involved in one of the scams that can help collectors identify counterfeit product. These are intentionally made not to be symmetrical. If you can see the end is higher than the than this one, then it's typically a fake. Sutherland urged buyers to slow down, inspect items before completing a deal, worrying that rushed transactions can be costly because the last thing you ever want is ever is for kids or future collectors to ever incur any of these problems, which I mean, well, I'm not gonna say kids Aren't collecting because that's a lie. When I did the Comic Con, I had a crap ton of kids come up to me and want to buy stuff and I gave them some like decent freaking discounts. I even had one guy get pissed off because I gave a kid a discount on, I think a booster box, But I refused to give him a discount and he got all pissy. I said, well, because He's a freaking 10 year old kid. Exactly. He wants to rip open a freaking box of Pokemon cards because Jackass is like, you hoard the show. Did you say that? Yu-Gi-Oh I was pissed, you know what? Because like, I, I mean, to be fair, like I had gone all day without my proper medication. I was stressed beyond stress. I had one guy damn near demand PSA values for his degree graded cards and even then he wanted a 95 trade value. I'm like, Yu-Gi-Oh that's not freaking happening ever. But Yu-Gi-Oh And one guy wanted to trade me like these crappy cards. Like, I mean, not cards aren't really crappy, but like, it was like literally essentially bulk, bulk full arts. And he, he's like, oh, you know, trade for, for cash. I'm like, so you want me to buy them off of you? That's not trading for cash. You just want me to buy them from you? Well, you know, whatever, right? Like, no, if you want me to buy them for cash, I'm like, I'll give you 50 cents each because they're worth a dollar. It's like, no, no, mander, you know, you can grade these. And I'm like, well, you can grade any card doesn't give a. Like, you can literally grade any damn card. It doesn't make it valuable. Nope, it's cool. You're going to take that $1 card, send it to a grain company for almost $100 and get it back. And it's going to be worth A what, $20? But you're still, you're still down $80 in grading fees. Okay. But Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, people were just butthurt because, you know, if a kid came up and said, you know, would you be in for a trade? I always, I always said, Yu-Gi-Oh heck Yu-Gi-Oh I'd be down to trade with you, man. What, what do you got? If it was a kid, I bent over backwards for them. Yu-Gi-Oh it was a grown ass, snobby adult. Yu-Gi-Oh no, I, I was professional in some cases. Told him to kick rocks. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. And that's just the way it is. And it's like, you know what? Yu-Gi-Oh If he goes off and tells people, oh, this guy's a jackass. Oh, well. Oh, well. Because, I mean, one jackass turns out to be the equivalent of. I had like. I had people buying packs running back because they pulled a Chase card somehow asking for sleeves and a top loader only for their friends to later come back and go, oh, we heard our friend bought a pack like this from you. Do you have any more? Word of mouth travels like a wildfire. Yu-Gi-Oh And so, Yu-Gi-Oh I had one jackass here and there, but I had dozens of repeat people or referenced people because they heard nothing but good things. Exactly. Yu-Gi-Oh Sometimes bad press is good press. Yu-Gi-Oh But finally, we're going to be looking at our Gen 6 pick for our Pokedex and our Mysterious Treasures card. So for my Gen 6, I. I Beckett a Pokemon that isn't necessarily Gen 6. However, the version of it is Gen 6 and that is Mega Gengar. However, when you look at. Was it Poke. Pokepedia or sorry, Bulbapedia. That's the word I was looking for. When you look at Bulbapedia and you look at the decks, they do a really cool thing where they. I'm assuming it's for each one that would have a variant or like a Mega. So they have a crap ton of ones for Gengar and then you don't hit Mega Gengar specific until Ultra Sun. Interesting. Which is weird because Ultra sun wasn't the first gen 6 game. But then it moves into let's Go, which is weirder because I didn't know you could get Mega Gengar and let's Go. Yu-Gi-Oh I haven't played much of that, so I really don't know. Yu-Gi-Oh So I kind of gave up on it. I have to get back into it, try to figure out some things, but either something is very strange or somebody fell asleep while editing those things. However, for Ultra Sun, I Beckett two. One for Ultrasound, one for let's Go. Because both of them were very, very interesting and they were both kind of funny. Ultra sun says that it tries to take the lives of anyone and everyone. It will even try to curse the trainer who is its own master. And then for let's Go, it says it can pass through other dimensions and appear anywhere. It caused a stir one time when it stuck just one leg out of a wall. Yu-Gi-Oh Which, I mean. Yu-Gi-Oh you're sitting somewhere and you see it just one Gengar leg pop out of a wall. That would be kind of freaky. Yu-Gi-Oh that's pretty interesting. Yu-Gi-Oh But what did you pick for your Gen 6? So initially, I Almost Beckett a starter Pokemon, but I was looking at. Because I had an idea for a starter that I wanted to use, but it didn't have what I was thinking. Basically a description of the Pokemon. Didn't have that in the Pokedex. Okay. I think I saw it in the show when I was watching it in the show, which I haven't seen a lot of the show, but I've seen some. And I. They said certain things in the show, and I thought, hey, this might be in the Pokedex. It wasn't. I did choose. I did choose a Pokemon, mind you. I. I work at a pet store and getting more into that field with animals and Whatnot. But anyways, I see a lot of poodles in and out of my store, whether they're poodle poodles or they're labradoodles or goldendoodles. Okay. So I was like, you know what? I'm gonna pick this Pokemon. It's not really talked about much, but Frufro. It's random and funny, but Frufro. There were two things about it I wanted to read for. Omega Ruby. It says trimming its fluffy fur not only makes it more elegant, but also increases the swiftest of its movements. That makes sense. Less fur, less Drake. Yu-Gi-Oh Yep. And then obviously, in real life, I know that poodles were used as water dogs in Germany initially. They're. They're actually German and not French. There is such a thing as a French poodle because poodles are popular in France. Yep. But they initiated from Germany. Anyways, the one from Alpha Zebra says historic. Yu-Gi-Oh I can't talk. Historically, in the Kalos region, these Pokemon were designated guardians of the king. So, I mean, they. In Pokemon, they make it. Yu-Gi-Oh but I just found that interesting and like in regards to like work and like always seeing poodles and labradoodles and all that mixed breeds with the poodle. They're actually pretty cool dogs. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean that's a interesting one. Yu-Gi-Oh And for fro is not really talked about at all. So. Yu-Gi-Oh And finally for our card for the binders for Mysterious Treasure. I Beckett an interesting one because so I, I have the card but it's not in good condition. Well I, I, no, it's light played but it, I don't know, it doesn't, it looks good in the non holo version, but it just looks better in the Reverse Hollow version. As far as I understand. I can't find a holo version for it even though it's a rare Pokemon. So Yu-Gi-Oh some, it's weird. Some only have the regular and Reverse Hollow. Yu-Gi-Oh You know, you want to know something else on that topic really really quick? I have. So we agree. Reverse Hollow is what this card is. It's the outside of the picture. I've had some people in the past say Reverse Hollow is the picture itself and I'm like, no it's not. It's the whole card. Right. All right. That's the way I see it. But I've had people tell me otherwise and I'm like that doesn't make any sense. I've had people especially I've seen listings online where they listed as foil. It's a foil card. Well, and it's like. Well, technically, Yu-Gi-Oh Whether it's, you know, the inside is foiled or the outside of the art box is foiled. I mean, I guess you're not wrong. It is foiled. But like, pretty standard format is holographic or reverse holographic. Exactly. But Yu-Gi-Oh people were saying the opposite about it, so I was really confused about that for a while. But we agree on the same thing, so that's good. Yu-Gi-Oh Because we're not. We're not stupid. We're not stupid. But for my Pokemon, I Beckett Galili, the big ice ball Pokemon. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm looking at right now. It's actually a pretty cool card. Yu-Gi-Oh The background of it is kind of funky. Like it's a icy misty kind of thing. It reminds me of a frozen waterfall. Yu-Gi-Oh Actually I. I'm willing to bet that is a frozen waterfall. However, like, trust the artwork itself or the card work itself in the non hollow version does look pretty damn good. But the Reverse Hollow just. I don't know, it pops. Pops in a way that. Because I don't typically enjoy Reverse Hollows because like it. It's similar in Reverse Hollow to like the Evolution cards. Yu-Gi-Oh I hate the Reverse Hollow Evolution cards. Yu-Gi-Oh God awful ugly they are. They're hidden. They look fake. New Reverse Hollows are not terrible because they have like an internal artwork in the Reverse Hollow. But when you take gen 1 or base set essentially artwork and throw a reverse holo on it, it just looks like crap. But I Beckett this Pokemon simply because of the move as well as the artwork. So I noticed that the move does 50 damage for three energies. Two water and one colorless, which is a bit aggressive considering you only have 90 HP and it takes three energies to freaking do 50 damage. However, you flip a coin if heads. Your opponent can't play any trainer cards or supporter cards from his or her hand during your opponent's next turn, which is nice. However, again, three freaking energies for 50 damage. Like holy. And I mean cool. You don't play any trainers or supporters if you flip a coin and lands on heads. So you have a 5050 chance of your opponent not having to be able to play any trainers or supporters. But it doesn't prevent you from being taken by damage. However, the poke body craggy face, which is hilarious as long as it's in your active spot, any damage done by attacks from your opponent's stage 2 evolved Pokemon is reduced by 20 before applying weakness and resistance. The move, though that costs three whopping energies is none other than intimidation pebble, which is. It's hilarious. What the hell? It's like a pun in itself. Yu-Gi-Oh Where the hell did we get the intimidation pebble from? With this giant ice ball with horns. Doesn't make sense. But what did you pick for your Pokemon? So mine is very, very, very, very basic. And people are going to be like, why the heck would you choose that? I have a few reasons for it that I thought about as I looked at the cards. It's very hard choosing one card from a set because they all have speak out in. In their own ways. Yu-Gi-Oh This card is a normal type Pokemon. Okay. It's a Pokemon that people, A lot of people have said, oh, it's like a. It's like a, you know, a superior Pokemon. Okay. And they only say that because in the games you can teach it, I think, like all the technique, technical moves to be like your slave technically, you know what I'm probably talking about. But they, they say it's a higher up Pokemon. Some people make all teams of this Pokemon and use it to beat the game. No, other than Bidoof. Yup. I chose Bidoof because of a couple reasons. This. Yu-Gi-Oh the picture of it, first off, it's just a regular card. It's coming out of the bushes and it has like a little leg. In fact, it's like kind of. You can tell. It's like jumping on its front legs out of the bushes. Yu-Gi-Oh It's only a 60 HP card. All right. This was back. This, this John. This, this type of, these type of cards at this point were the ones that had levels. They had the Pokemon levels. Yu-Gi-Oh So on this card they're saying this book, this video's a level 11B doof dear. And it has 60 HP. It only has one move. That takes away two. Colorless or normal type. Yu-Gi-Oh that's tackle. All right. That takes away 30. So it takes away half of what it actually has for hp, mind you. So not only do I said like, people would use it as like a party of beetles and making them all have moves that help you throughout the game. But I also chose it because of the fact that this was also the time in the series where they had like the certain Topps of berries attached to some of the Pokemon. And this one had the walking berry. And basically what that did was any damage done to bidoof by attacks from a electric Pokemon is reduced by 20. So here it is. It's a HP 60. It has tackle, which is 30. So HP 60, tackle 30. A whack and perry, which reduces the damage of an electric Pokemon. So another thing I want to point about this card too is it's such low stats, whether it's the HP or the attack, that you would think, well, why would one have this in there as their pick for their Pokemon? But basically I have a feeling that this card was a. Back in the TCG era. Playing it without that set, I feel like it might have been a good. I feel like people had to have at least three or four of that card to keep it alive, to evolve it to be to the evolved form. Well, that's the thing. And like even, like nothing makes sense about this. Like even a retreat cost is two energies for retreat. It's a basic Pokemon and you need two energies of retreat. Yu-Gi-Oh What the hell. I'm looking up right now the Bibero because I'm curious just because I didn't look at it as I looked up this video, but I'm willing to bet that the evolved form of it in this set is decent. It freaking better be. If, if. If it requires so much for the pre Evolution. Yu-Gi-Oh Because like that's usually when they do that. It's usually. Oh gosh, how's that bothering me? Because I don't know if I. It's somewhere in there. I might have to come back to it at some point if we can. No, I don't. But sometimes they'll even have the Evolutions. Yu-Gi-Oh But I'm pretty sure I saw it. I just didn't look at it because I was like. I was trying to find it quick. But no, I just thought it was funny in the fact that it had the berry on it. And then it's just. It's one of those Pokemon that like people in the. In the games, they use it as a. A tm. HM Slave. Yu-Gi-Oh And it's not really. And then there were people saying like it's a. It's like a superior Pokemon. And I'm like, what's up? Like it was like. I don't know what it was, but it was some joke about it going on about B. Doof. And Yu-Gi-Oh it's just funny. It's just a freaking beaver. Yu-Gi-Oh well, I. I mean that's the thing. Like you do need a like HM Mule in a sense to. Even in the games. But in the tcg, you really didn't need that because like you didn't really have hms. Exactly. And that's why I'm mad. I can't find that evolve form be barrels. Actually. I don't even think it's in that freaking set. I'm just kind of looking too, right? Yu-Gi-Oh I'm quickly skinny. What's the point of it? What's the point of it in that set? I thought it would be because it has the evolved form, but. Yu-Gi-Oh it doesn't look like it. No, it's got like. Like there's weasel, but that's it. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh it's not in there. That's another basic. Which, I mean, even that people have joked around it as being like similar to a HM mule. Yu-Gi-Oh But Yu-Gi-Oh like there's. That's why I chose it because there was a time that people were just like, it was bidoof. It was all about bidoof. And I'm like, why are people obsessing over it? And I thought maybe it was because the evolution is decent. But Yu-Gi-Oh there's no evolution. We both checked. I went through it twice. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't. I don't. It's not even in here. At first I thought, oh, it's. It's gotta be number 74 then. Because, you know, bidoof is 73. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh I forgot to say the number. I apologize. Yu-Gi-Oh usually I'll say it too. But that's the thing. Like, it. It's. It's one of those sets where the evolution doesn't come immediately after. It's like. Yu-Gi-Oh sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Like, why would you. It's just a pointless card in the set. But I had to point out those few facts because we never really talked about the slave. The HMTM slave, the mule, you said. But I mean, it's not. It's not uncommon for them to not have the evolution forms in the set. Like, look at. In the case of like Gasoline Hunter, for instance. You didn't get Gengar until. Was it Fossil, I think. Yu-Gi-Oh but you had Gasoline Haunter and base set. That's true. Yu-Gi-Oh And then it was actually even later on they did it again in. God, what was it? One of the challenges, I think gym challenge or whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh you know, you got Gasoline Haunter or you got pre evolutions of one Pokemon, but you didn't get the evolution of those Pokemon until the next challenge or whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh the gym challenge. The gym heroes. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I know what you're talking about. Yu-Gi-Oh But like, you know, that's just. That's Pokemon way of doing things. It's weird. Yu-Gi-Oh So maybe. Maybe I should look and see. Maybe. Maybe B. Barrow's in the next one. Yu-Gi-Oh And I'm. I'm willing to bet if it's in the next one, it coincides with the Mysterious Treasures one in some way to benefit in that way. Or there's. There's got to be. I don't know if TMS were invented yet for the tcg, but I guarantee there's. It's usable in some sense. It's gotta be. Maybe. Yu-Gi-Oh But on that note, that is going to do it for this week's episode. That Pokemon didn't even exist. Exactly. Yu-Gi-Oh So it's Mimikyu's Delta Species as a water type, but it's the sword and shield 1 86. I want to say it is. It's a promo. Came in like a promo box or whatever. Or a box. Yu-Gi-Oh With toxicity and. Yu-Gi-Oh another one. But there was a smaller version and then a jumbo version and Hacksoris. That's what it was.
