The Evolution of Pokemon Cards 1995 to Present | Pack Fresh Podcast Ep. 30

We're not just talking about Pokemon cards today. We're talking about the evolution of printing runs throughout the whole hobby. We're getting nerdy today here on the Pack Fresh podcast. So welcome back, where we give you a little peek behind the curtain of what it's like to be a seller in this crazy, crazy hobby. And yeah, today is going to be an interesting one. We're going to get a little historical. We're going to kind of tell the story of Pokemon tcg and it gets a little bit nerdy. But I think you're going to learn a little something. There's some cool little things and there's definitely some special types of cards that when you're at card shows or binders come up to you, you want to pay attention for. And I mean, we might as well get started right from the beginning. The original Base set, the birthplace of Pokemon in English. And that starts with first edition edition. 1999 first edition. They first Edition boxes only come in Shadowless. A lot of people say Shadowless, First Edition. There is no other option. Right. You just only have First Edition Shadowless. The First Edition boxes are still the most expensive boxes in Pokemon. How much are they? They're like 500k. I mean, if you can find one. I mean, a lot of us know, like Logan Paul did his big First Edition break a couple months back, and that box sold out at a value of over a million dollars. They're not selling for that kind of on the market right now. They're closer to around that like 500k. There is some kind of floating around out there that you can get, but there's not a whole lot. There's not a whole lot out there. And that's up a lot recently because obviously with everything in Pokemon, it's been just going up. But First Edition boxes, I want to say, were a little over a year ago sitting around 250 to 300k. And I've just been on a. On a climb ever since. So First Edition, they do the first print run has the First Edition stamp. It is Shadowless. There's no shadow on the right side of the border of the Pokemon. Then they print the next version of Base Set, which is Shadowless. They lose the stamp. Still Shadowless, also a pretty rare box to find. It is going. Some people say it's more rare than First Edition itself. About a third the price for a box of Shadowless over a box of First Edition. Still very cool. Still, all the cards and tens are worth major money. Unbelievable. Unreal. Crazy. And you Can. In. In both First Edition, I believe, and Shadowless, there is a. I think it's an error, but you can get the red cheeks Pikachu, the original Pikachu artwork has yellow cheeks. But in Shadowless and First Edition there is a chance at hitting a red cheeks Pikachu. And it's. I mean that's, it's a nuke. It's insane. That's. You're definitely excited. You pull that card out of your pack. For sure. Yeah, for sure. I mean it's worth more than some of the hollows. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Just because of the rarity on that. For sure. And we'll talk a little bit more about some of the other errors here in a little bit. We got. So after Shadowless, they did the unlimited print run. This is. They added the shadow on the right side of the card. Still no First Edition stamp. Everything else stayed the same. I would say maybe like the coloring changed a little bit. It did. It's a little bit like the Shadowless and First Edition are like very, very vibrant in their colors. It's like very rich. And when it went to unlimited, it just. They dulled the colors or like brightened the like the picture up a little bit. So it's just obviously still looks great. But the. When you see a Shadowless card next to an Unlimited, it looks just so nice. Yeah, absolutely. And of course Unlimited being the heaviest mass produced version of Base still one of the like largest printed products in history is. Is Base set. So then you had a little bit of a unique printing with the fourth print with that the. It was the UK print. And explain to us what happened with the Holos. Why. Why is that unique to us now? Yeah, so fourth print is like a very interesting case and it's something that like a lot of people have no idea that they even exist. The cards are almost exactly the same as Unlimited. Sometimes they look a little bit more saturated, kind of like Shadowless, but for the most part, the date at the bottom of the card, Instead of saying 1999, it says 1999-2000. And that was little designation is what makes these so rare. And basically there was such a demand for Pokemon at the time that they had to print specific extra runs for different regions. And so in the UK they were printing this, the last fourth print of Base Set, but they ended up not printing enough holo cards, so there wasn't enough holographic cards to fill all their booster boxes that they needed to. They needed to make that they had, you know, the rest of the Set to, to match up with. And so they imported a bunch of holos from the U.S. so you, you have then in a box of fourth print base set, you can have 12 hollows, but only four of them, five of them end up actually being fourth print. So the, the hollows become extremely, extremely rare. So the whole pack will be fourth print with the new date all through the, through the package and you get to the hollow and it can be a normal base set unlimited hollow. And it's, it's a little interesting piece of lore there, but yeah, it's, it can be extremely, extremely expensive. And it, it's probably the most rare version of any of these cards. Like a fourth print Charizard, definitely. Yeah. The most rare got to be. It's like pop under 10 or something in a 10. And if you're looking at the boxes, I think the only designation on the box that differs is the country codes on the bottom. I believe so. And that's not even always 100%. And then on top of. Yeah, it could just. You. You might not even get that in there. Even in a box that, you know is UK fourth print, you still might not even get any of the fourth print holos because they're that rare because they added so many of the US holos in there. I wonder back then, like, when was the first year somebody noticed, you know, what the heck this says. Yeah, because it, like it really didn't matter then, right? Like it. Yeah, it really didn't matter until probably pretty recently that people really paid attention to those, you know, little designations and stuff like that. Like there's so many especially of like Charizard, there's so many different prints. You have, you know, first edition Shadowless Unlimited fourth print Evolutions. You have the classic collection, you have Celebrations, you have the 30th now coming out. Like you, you have so many versions. So now, you know, going and finding that like little minute detail kind of wild. It's wild. So then we got the first edition era, right? This is the first sets from Pokemon and where we kind of had. That became almost like traditional first edition print. And then we had the unlimited print. And this went from like the base era, the rocket era, the gym and Neo eras, and these printed by wotc. So then we get through these eras and then they kind of change it up a little bit with the last kind of set here, the, the Legendary collection and then the E Reader series, which no first print, but changed it up kind of in a big way. They, you know, you added some new Chases and kind of just instead of the typical Pokemon, they're trying something new with this. So the last set in English with the first edition stamp is going to be Neo Destiny. And then you go into the legendary collection which brought at the time, I wonder, like, now we see it and we're like, wow, these are amazing. Yeah. Everybody says when it was introduced, nobody. They're like, what is this? I don't want this. Yeah. And I mean, I. I was somebody because I. We just broke a box on Stream recently. And I remember people were just, you know, remembering back and. And thinking about when it came out. And there was one dude in the stream. I remember exactly. He's like. He's like, I remember I hated this set when it came out because I was playing the game and you get the Reverse Holo. And if somebody was playing the Reverse Hollow, you couldn't read the card because the Reverse Holo is so crazy on that card that you couldn't read what the card said very well. So he's like, people would have, like, decks just full of those reverse halls, which now thinking about it is crazy, right? Like, yeah, unreal. But that's just how it was, right? And yeah, you know, I've heard other people say, like, oh, I thought they were stickers. I thought these were fake cards. Like, they look so different. It's just up to that point, we didn't have reverse hollows. Right. So the only foil we had ever seen was in the little, you know, the little area for the picture. It's the only time we would ever see hollows. And so you get the whole. The whole rest of the card is hollow. And I, like, it had to be such a shock. I don't really remember it personally. I, like, I was still collecting, but it. It was so, like, not on top of my mind then. And also, like in Pokemon history during this time is kind of when, you know, it's always Es and flows with Pokemon and kind of a dip. It's actually probably one of the most recent, like, shorter printed eras because that was. That was one of their falls. So this is why the last set here of the E Readers are worth so much per box. This. I don't think there's a completed era like this that has as expensive of a lineup as E Reader does. Yeah, I mean, E Readers obviously, like, E Readers move through the transition that we'll talk about in a little bit. But the end of wotc, the three sets of E Readers Expedition Aquapolis, Skyridge are three of the most expensive sets out there. I mean I, I love them. They're some of the best sets of all time in my opinion. But no first edition, right. It's only that. And then what we'll talk about later, it's WOTC lost the contract to print Pokemon. So even if there was going to be a reprint, it couldn't happen because they don't have the rights. So yeah, it's part of the reason why it's, you know, Pokemon was less popular. The company printing them lost the contract and then that's it. You know, it, it's very, very interesting. That is. And yeah, and kind of before we get into that, we talk a little bit about, you know, you run all the, you print all these cards and you have this long run of all these sets that have come out. You know, obviously it's a mass scale production and it can't go flawlessly. So throughout the years we've kind of these errors and some of this stuff is worth a lot more than if you get just the, the regular copy of the card. I would say that would start with the packaging. Probably the most notable packaging error in post, they had a bunch of first edition wrappers left over and instead of throwing them away, they covered up the first edition stamp on the wrapper with a black triangle. And some of them are terrible. Yeah, right there, that's what they look like right there. So you got the black triangle there. Some of them are awful. Some of them. You can still see the first edition stamp under the triangle. Like. Yeah, it's crazy. So they just like ran it through the machine and had it set like print on top of this and then hopefully it covered it up. So they're all regular base set hollows. Yep. All unlimited prayer, not shadowless. And it's the most rare pack art. So if you get a sealed black triangle air pack, that's, that's definitely the one you want to hold on to. If you're a sealed pack collector. They're very cool. I, I mean I, it's, it's like something, I mean like, like I just showed you, I have a whole bunch of black triangle error packs and they're all guaranteed hollows. But it's always like a dilemma in the chat if somebody buys one of those, like you rip that because it's, it's the error pack. But like who knows what's in there, right? Like there's, is it worth that much? You know, like it makes it so that like if you break a box of it, the, the light packs, right? The ones that don't have a holo. They're worth a ton more because it's such a collector item and there. It's cool. I mean, I. It's such a crazy piece of lore in the history of Pokemon that is just like. Yeah, no, we're. We're. We're just gonna put a little black blob on top of this, fix this problem. Perfect. We nailed it. Yeah. A couple other. What do we got? We got some other errors. I mean, the. No Stage Blastoise at the top of the car doesn't have stage two text completely across the. It's like it was missing completely off of there. So obviously they fixed that. It's not. It's a pretty rare error to find as well, but that's going to be one to look for. Some of these, like, little nuances in the cards are going to change the amount of. Of value for. Especially, like, graded in a 10. Like, these are kind of unreal. Yeah, there's a lot of weird little, like, errors and stuff. Like, I know we've. I've ripped some before where there's, like, there's the D Edition Butterfree, and it has a little. It has a literal letter D on the card and, you know, little stuff like that. I know there's like an error with the Krabby, and there's just some little tiny errors here and there that people don't really pick up on or know that they have. Like, there's probably so many in binders places you have. Then you have some hollow errors as well throughout. Throughout, like, the, you know, the years. And one of the most notable of that is the Zapdos one. So I believe it's Fossil Zapdos. The top left corner is missing a whole lot of hollow, and it's very, very common like that. That is the more common version. Then the corrected version is super. Super. That's the one that you. That you're looking for. I mean, it's all great, right? It's still a hollow. It's a vintage hollow. But the corrected version of that is where you kind of get into the crazy rarity. And them correcting errors is something that has happened a few times now, the most notable being Gym Challenge. Do that one. I don't know about that one to talk about it. Yeah. So Gym Challenge early print runs, notably the Charizard. The Charizard and Jim Challenge. And of course, because it's an error to a Charizard card, it just skyrockets this. Right. So the original printing and, you know, some of the early prints of Blaine's Charizard and Jim Challenge, the energy symbols are supposed to be fire. Right. Because it's fire energy. Well, they printed them with fighting energy. And so then later on then they corrected those. And those corrected cards are astronomically expensive, so you'll find a lot of, like, unlimited Gym Challenge that is crazy expensive because they can guarantee that it's a corrected print. So if there's a Charizard in there, then you know that it's going to be. That corrected version's insanely valuable. Yeah. And I mean, think about this as, like, Pokemon I just started. Right. Like 96 in Japan, 99 to the U.S. right. And they're just trying to take on this behemoth that Pokemon has become. Right. Printing just million or hundreds of thousands of boxes, whatever the number was. Right. And so they would make these mistakes. They would just fix them on their own, you know, in subsequent print runs. Yeah. Or like. Or just not fix them. Right. I mean, like, the Charizard example from Gym Challenge is like, they had to fix that because it affected the game because you needed on the card. The. The. The error version on the card you have. You would have to put different energies into your deck. Yeah. If you wanted to play that card. So it's like, you know that that's. They were like, oh, my God. We. We got. Yeah. And I mean, that's still one of the biggest, even, like, ripping cards and packs. Like, you see the red. Oh, yeah. And then you see the fighting, and then you're like, yeah, that's what we wanted at all. So another pretty. I mean, I would say most of these are kind of rare. Like, there's a rare of the. Like a rarity to the heirs, but double hollow. And essentially on the holo cards, they just ran it over with the holo pattern twice. So these are not as common to, like, just look, it's a double hollow air. You have to, like, really look at it, and you'll see the pattern is like, double. There's just so many little crazy amount of hollows, squirrels and the stars and everything. It's just so much more. And also that double printing usually makes the cards a lot darker, which I can't remember off the top of my head. Maybe you'll know. There's the one card, it's just very dark in general, and it looks like it has a double hollow air always. And then you look and you're like, no, that's just. This card is so dark, I just can't remember which card. It is, but I'm like, my God, remember? Yeah, yeah. And I know, I know, like, some people there. There's a dip. There is a debate out there on if it's printed twice or if it's missing a. A layer. So some people say that it was a missing layer to make that effect, that there's a double holo. And then some people say it was printed twice. So it's weird because I know, like, some of the cards, the holo then covers more areas of the card than it normally would because it's like missing that one ink layer in that area. That's, like, kind of why that happens. I don't really know that. That's, like, beyond my full knowledge of it. What I do know is they look absolutely incredible. They are. It is so sick to see double. You are banging like, we should have just switched to double hollow. Yeah. And then like, this is outside of Watsi, but there's also probably my favorite hollow type error is what they call hollow bleeding. And so what this is, is this is truly a missing layer. But on it happens a lot in diamond and pearl era sets. Happens in others as well. But I recently broke a box of Majestic dawn and every single hollow in that box had hollow bleed. And so what that looks like is you have the normal hollow card, right? The normal area, the holo, but then the rest of the card is also covered in the hollow. So you get like all the swirls and all the stars, all of that stuff throughout the whole card. It's usually more faint on the rest of the card, but it looks phenomenal in person. It is just so special. And you can see it when you kind of peek the corner when you're ripping the pack kind of. You can see the hollow just shining through on the side and you're just like, oh, wow, this is. This is special. So we had a few eras, they had a good run, but like they say, all good things must come to an end. WOTC and Pokemon kind of separate ways here. So 2003, the licensing agreement with WOTC expires and Nintendo basically said, you know, we don't want to renew this again. So now the Pokemon Company International took over English production and distribution, of course, legal back and forth, but Wizards never printed another set after Sky Ridge. So then Pokemon takes over and you just kind of see a little bit of a shift, right? I mean, towards the end, E Reader sets, I mean, who knows, like, what if they would have extended another 10 years and, like, where they were going with the E readers and where they were going with the. The legendary. I. It. I don't know. Right. We don't know because now you get this shift. Now you go to Pokemon and instead of the Rarity 1st Edition Unlimited, they kind of switched it to now you're. You're only chasing Rarity. You're chasing the EX cards, the Gold stars, Level X's, Primes, Legends, Full arts, alternate arts. I mean through. Basically when they took over until today, they've yeah. Changed the chase which across all of these sets are awesome. I mean Gold stars being top dogs biggest chases in like Pokemon like to. To chase. It's. They are unreal. PSA 10 gold stars are just unmatched. Obviously outside of the Charizard that Wash mentioned getting reprinted so many times. They reprint these Gold stars and celebrations and. And even the reprints have just like a crazy value with. They're amazing. I mean they're all. They're all the same artists. Fukuda and like his stuff is just. It's crazy. It's just so good. So good. They are absolutely just awesome. Yeah, they. I mean they crushed it. I mean they. It's interesting like you could see the influence that WOTC had when Pokemon took over because WOTC introduced the Reverse Hollows in LC that went into the E Reader sets as well. So you always get a Reverse Holo. But something we didn't really mention is in the E Reader sets you also introduced the first like gimmick to Pokemon and as the Crystals. Right. The crystal Pokemon as the first time that they had like a specialty type of Pokemon added to the game. And that was something they never looked back after they did that. So then when Pokemon took over, they still had E Reader sets. You know, the first sets of EX era also had E Readers. Ruby and Sapphire and Dragon, Sandstorm. All those still had E Readers in them. But they introduced the EX cards. So the silver border exs and they just, you know, they look stunning immediately. They're totally different looking cards than anything else in the set. And you know, they just stand out. And I think that's like where the true shift happened at that point to from just like, okay, we're chasing like the rare Hollow in the set too. There's not only rare Hollows, but then now there's a new thing on top of that that of course, like I said there was crystals before, but these like really look different. Like they're so special. And then when the Gold stars came, you had silver border exs and then a gold star on top of that. So you had one super high rarity and then another even higher than that. And I think that's like where they really kind of found their footing with the Chase cards in. In sets with. With all this, these different printings and it's. And obviously, yeah, filled in now with irs added within the last few generations of Pokemon. Not generations, the last few eras of Pokemon. And has really just even changed. I mean, they just keep doing great things. I don't know. You know, maybe when Crystals came out, maybe when Gold Stars came out, people might not have been excited. I don't know. That was a long time ago. It was such a down time in Pokemon. I mean, that's part of the reason why, like Ex Era cards are so expensive. It just wasn't printed that much because Pokemon just wasn't that popular at the time. Like, it wasn't the hot thing. Like I remember like when I was in, you know, grade school, you know, high school, middle school, like people weren't really collecting Pokemon anymore. Like I would still play the games from time to time, but it was like never like top of my mind. Right. Like I'm like in high school, middle school, like doing other things. Right. Of course. And so it's like I look back and I see the sets, you know, ripping the sets. I'm just like, these are unbelievably cool. Unbelievably cool. And you know, I. Part of the reason why they're so expensive, because it just wasn't printed that much because the demand wasn't there. So they didn't need to print as much to meet the demand. Yeah. And comes out in the 90s right there. It's more of a kids game. Like kids only. Right. People say in today's world, still like, oh, it's a kids game. Well, now you have people that have grown up with Pokemon since the 90s. And it also creates this multi generational collecting where you collect with your children and then you're both into it together. And it's kind of something you can do together as, you know, father, son, father, daughter, mother, son, mother, daughter, whatever. Then it creates, I mean, like for us especially, it creates like this nostalgia that you're like, oh man, this is crazy. And like almost like living through the 90s again, doing this stuff. It's wild. So. Which was a great time, by the way. Yeah, we're banging Banger. But so Gold Stars, Crystals, you know, I don't know how they felt when they came out. Now you got these futuristic rares that they just announced for the 30th. I'm not a big fan. I like. You like them. I mean, I like them. I think I'll have to see it printed on the card. Yeah. To see how it looks. I think they did the mew dirty. I don't like the artwork that much. We'll see. I. I want to see how it looks. It looks crazy, but who knows what they might do with that. That could be the gold star of the next era, right? In 20 years, if those are as hard to hit as like the golds are right now or like the bwr, they're going to be insane. Like, it's going to be just crazy. And like, like I mentioned bwr, like, it's shocking to me. They're. They're expensive cards, don't get me wrong. But like, I have ripped thousands and thousands and thousands of black bolt and white flare, and I've pulled a handful of those cards like it is. Those are so incredibly difficult to pull. And like Pokemon, they just. Right now they understand that because they're printing so much, right. I mean, in the last. Was it three years. They've printed more in the last three years than the rest of the hobby combined. And that's a lot of cards. So, you know, to help probably counteract that with them, you know, they've introduced some new rarities and harder to pull cards just to kind of keep that chase alive, which is probably a good thing, right? In. In the long run. Yeah, of course. I mean, they can basically print triple the product and still have the same amount of hit rates because then more people can open packs. It's like people are asking for more product even yet. It's like you want them to water down the hits again. Like, instead of 1 in 3,000 average packs, it to be 1 in 6,000 packs, just so you can have more packs that just. I don't know, it doesn't make sense, right, that they would even want to dilute it down that far, especially when they're coming out with sets so fast. Why would you want to do that to your own product? I mean, I don't know. Maybe. Maybe they would. I just. I don't see why you would want to do that, personally. So you got modern. We've added, you know, they've got the reverse hollows, but then we've also added like the Pokeball hollows and like the Master ball hollows. And then of course, like stamped cards now are much more popular. You have like the Pokemon center stamps are huge. It's so weird. To me, because the stamp is nothing that adds greatness to the card. It is. It's a very. Yeah. I mean, it's. It's. Honestly, it's. If you think about it, it's very similar to like first edition. Right. Like, all it is is just a little stamp. Same exact artwork. It's just something one little thing extra that kind of just proves its rarity or proves its uniqueness. And that's just. That's the holy grail for collectors. Anything that, I mean, it's like what we were talking about with all the. The errors. It's like, well, you want a card that's messed up. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. I love that. And I mean. Yeah, we didn't even really talk very much about, like, modern errors. I mean, you have like a lot of the cards will get stuck in the crimp and. And when they're pack and you'll have a crimp error or you'll have. They have the blank back where there's no printing on the back. It's just the hollow foil pattern on the back. And I mean, those are super rare. Worth a bunch of money. You've rare older when wizards was still printing. We even talk about like a magic back with a Pokemon front. That is true. That's happened. More modern air would be. Instead of the rounded corners, you'll get cut corners. And that could come. Actually, I've seen some of the crate. Like two corners are square and two are rounded or all four square. Crazy that it's. It's so cool to see some of that. Or like a reverse foil that we opened up in a pack. And the reverse foil pattern was the entire card. And. And so it's like over the yellow. It's like a. It was a Grass energy card. So it's. It just has like kind of a cool look to it. I've just always kept that card. Yeah, there's. And then recently there was on Ascended Heroes, a friend of ours ripped a God Pack and the God Pack was printed without one of the colors of ink. So all of them have this pink hue to them. So the whole God pack, every single one was just totally misprint. And they look sweet. Like it's just like stuff like that. You just. It's so rare and so unique. And it's just like. It's just like a piece of history, right? Like. Yeah. And. And some of the errors, I mean, you got to. It's niche for air collectors. But some of the stuff is just truly so unique that it's like Certain collectors just want to have that kind of stuff. Like I want to have. It's so cool and it's so rare versus like 90s sports. They'll be like, it's an air print because the copyright symbol isn't there. It's like, well, they printed 20 million copies of this car. It's not. It's like it's worth a dollar or 50 cents or whatever. You can get somebody to pay you right now. So. Yep. So I mean, Pokemon center, like I said the stamp. I think they could make the stamp look way cooler and say Pokemon Center. It'd be sick. You know, I mean they have cool stamps. The 30th stamps, 25th stamps. Like all that stuff's always looks good. Staff promos. I still feel like that's one of the most underrated areas of promos in today's print. Because the only way to get is to staff a Pokemon event or pre release event. And you get a set of the four promos for that set that say staff. Or if you work a tournament, they'll have like certain tournament cards that they'll just be labeled staff. And so they're so much more rare. But you don't really see that value difference now. And I mean, they've had staff promos that go back far. Like I've seen like. Yeah, I mean there's like dark, dark Gyarados staff promos. Yeah. And they're just like, oh, it's worth an extra dollar. It's like that is so much more rare. It's crazy. Yeah, there's a lot of weird stamps. Like, I know, like back in the day there was like the W stamp and you know, they made promo cards for all kinds of different events. Like there's like Gen Con and, and all these different things where they did crazy random stamps for, you know, whatever it was. And. And then you had, in the Ex era, you had the stamped reverses where every single card or every single reverse holo had the stamp of the set, which they're so great. And so it's like, now you can get those two now, but it's only four cards per set. And get them in the building battles and then sometimes they'll have like a promo where they put the stamp. But outside of that, you know, you don't really see them too often. Crazy. Yeah. What a crazy ride. And now of course, 30th is here. You've seen some more leaks, We've seen some more stuff coming out. We'll have a 30th episode obviously a few weeks before the set set to release, but what a banger. It's going to be so good. It looks really, really great. I'm excited to see the whole rest of the cards and, and everything. They're just, you know, right now. I think Pokemon is, is doing a lot of a really cool stuff with the printing and, and I like how they're experimenting with new rarities and new types of cards and stuff like that. Like, I don't love the Golds, but I, I appreciate what they're kind of doing with that. So. Yeah, it's, it's, it's cool. It was really cool. Like kind of looking back through all of this. Just going all the way back through WOTC and looking at all the different errors and all the different prints and all the different runs and you know, just kind of reliving some of. That is sweet. Yeah, of course. I mean when it started nobody was thinking about all those things, right. But you know, all of a sudden this game became a worldwide phenomenon and now those are the little things, the little Easter eggs that you look for and try to find. It's kind of, it's cool to see the history of the game and yeah. Printing in the cards and all that, you know. Question for everybody listening. You know, if you could own one historic pokem printing like a card, any different type, what would it be? Would it be a first edition base set Charizard? A shadowless Charizard? A fourth print UK Charizard? Would you want just a sealed black triangle heavy pack? Pack Heavy pack. Either way, available on my whatnot. So what would you. What. You know, or even without an error or a card that you would want, just let us know your. What card would you get if you could have one Grail. That's your, that's the, the card you want. Let us know what that would be. Yeah. What would be yours? Man, that is. Has to be English, I guess because it's. Yeah. Kind of what we're talking about. Yeah. I, if I could pick any card, I would say and obviously if you're like whatever, you could just pick. But if you want like favorite card, I really like the Charizard Gold star out of Dragon Frontiers. It is great. That's a great card. It is great. I'd probably like. If I could just pick any card and I just add it here for whatever reason. Yeah. What about you? I mean, it's tough. Like I like obviously like I'd love to just say the Umbreon Gold star. Right. Like it's like such an easy answer for me. But I think outside of that and kind of like tying it into the episode here, a double hollow error shining Gyarados, I think would be amazing. I. That card, it is so special to me. I think it is still the best Gyarados card they ever made. It's just like, so iconically Gyarados to me, and it's just. It's phenomenal. I think that would probably be my pick for. For that. And just, you know, having the error there, Double hollow, it looks amazing. And yeah, I think that's. That. That might be where I go. I don't even collect Gyarados, but I just. That card is so cool to me and I. I collect air prints, but like, of the air prints of Pokemon, I just. None of it really, like, sticks out to me of something that I'd be like, I want this more. I'd much rather have a card like that where it's just like such a cool artwork that you're just gonna, like, look at. And same with you, like how you like the artwork on the Rayquaza. Yeah. Or you can go back and just have a little bit of pull with Pokemon and have them make a coughing gold star, you know, that would be banging. I did pick up. Or a friend of mine gifted me a fourth print, Coughing, which was actually the last coughing I needed in my English master set. Tell the next print. Yeah, we'll see what the next.
