The absolutely electric NBA Finals have caused some basketball card prices to shoot to the moon. But we've got some baseball card prices that are up even more. We'll tell you which ones are the hottest now. Hello, sports card investors and welcome to another top five cards here inside the Arena Club studio in Cards hq. And I gotta tell you, I cannot wait for for tonight, the next game of the NBA Finals. This final so far has been must see tv. And we got game five tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Saturday night. I hope you are as excited as I am and I'm fascinated to see what happens to the card prices of all of the players in what has been an epic NBA Finals. And you know what else I'm excited for? The fact that the virtual summer sports card show is happening here on the sports card investor YouTube channel this Tuesday and Wednesday night. It is brought to you by Whatnot. You're gonna wanna tune in. We've got thousands of dollars in free giveaways. We're gonna be doing flash sales, great deals to be had on cards and boxes, plus a ton of fun. It is this Tuesday and Wednesday night starting at 8pm Eastern time on this YouTube channel. And then at 10pm Eastern time both nights we're going to transition over to whatnot. I'm going to put a QR code right now for whatnot up on the screen for Cards HQ Shop on whatnot. Because if you don't have whatnot yet, scan that QR code and you'll get $15 free when you sign up and you can use that towards the deals on the summer Virtual on Cards HQ Shop this Tuesday and Wednesday night. Okay, but we're here today to talk about what is going on in the incredibly hot sports card market. And let's in fact look at the overall sports card market with the market pulse by market movers and you can see what I'm talking about. How hot it is continues to move up. It's up a smidge over the last week. We're looking by the way here at the SEI 500 index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards over the last 30 days. It's up over 5% since January 1st. It is now up almost 27%. Tons of upwards movements in the sports card hobby continues. But now let's talk about the cards that are going up and down the most. It is time for today's top five cards. We're starting today with a cold card as we do every week because it is a reminder that sometimes the hot cards featured on this program can quickly turn cold in the sports card market. So please invest carefully. And and our cold card this week is no other than Shai Gilgius Alexander, the guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Yes, Shai Shea is a cold card. Look, Shea entered the season with enormous expectations after leading the Thunder to the NBA championship last year. Of course, he also won the MVP award last year. And guess what? Oklahoma City was exceptional during the regular season. This year he won the MVP award again this year. And. Well, unfortunately, the and is why some of his card prices are going down right now. The and is that they got beat by the San Antonio spurs in the championship series and it's now the spurs that are playing the Knicks in the NBA Finals rather than the Oklahoma City Thunder. When a team with enormous expectations and when a player with enormous expectations falls short of anything but the championship, oftentimes their cards will fall. And that is exactly what happened to Shai Gilgeous Alexander. Let's look here in Market Movers. I'll tell you exactly what I'm talking about. You can see it here on the screen. This is shay Gilgeous Alexander's 2018 Donnerous base card in PSA 10. This is down almost 28% over the last 30 days. Just sold for $119, but 30 days ago, that was a $165 card. You're going to see a similar pattern with his 2018 prison base card in PSA 10. This is now $205. That was selling for as much as $382. If you go back about a month ago, the Prizm Silver PSA 10. Watch out, ladies and gentlemen, this card is now under $2,300. It was $4,000 just about 30 days ago. That is a big loss on that card. In raw condition, you can see it's down 35% as well, even as newer stuff is going down. This is Shay Gilgius Alexander's 2025 tops Chrome Sapphire Edition in PSA 10. This one is down about 18 as of the last sale. And in raw condition, that card's down 83% since the last sale. Actually $10 sale of that card recently, but that card was $60 just 30 days ago. But now let's talk about cards going up. And we're starting with our investment card of the week. And this is one of my favorite cards of all time. This week. It is Kobe Bryant's 1996 finest refractor, the Heirs card. Absolutely love this card. And full disclosure, I own this card. I traded for this card at a card show probably three or four years ago. If you've been watching sports card investor for a long time, you would have seen the deal where I traded for this card at a card show. I've locked it away in my vault, and it has remained there ever since. I'm proud to own a beautiful copy of this card. Absolutely love it. And, of course, Kobe is an amazing player to collect. I have a ton of Kobe cards, and this one in particular is very, very special because, of course, 1996 was his rookie year. By the way, did you know Kobe Bryant actually won the slam dunk contest during his rookie season? Pretty cool thing to know there. And so this card in particular, here it is on the screen in market movers. I love it because it has this kind of angelic quality to the card. Obviously, with Kobe's early passing, I feel like it kind of almost has a little bit of a heavenly nature to the card, which I love to see. I like the image on the card. This actually, the one you see here on the screen, has a little bit of greening. It doesn't look super sharp. Some copies of this card look really good in hand. Other copies are kind of a little greened over and a little bit faded. So not every PSA 10 or PSA 9 or PSA 8 of this card is the same. So if you ever go to buy this card, make sure to look visually at the condition of it. That will make a difference in terms of its pricing. But the reason why we're featuring this today is because a BGS10 pristine just sold for $119,000 of this card, and that is up 127% over the last year. You can see that record sale right there. If you go back a year ago, that same card sold for $52,000. So that is a significant gain in less than a year. On that card. The PSA 10 most recently sold for $34,000. That's up 43% over the last year. If you want a slightly more affordable way to get into this car, the last time a PSA8 sold, it sold for $6,700, although that was back in November. So next time it sells, it will probably sell for more. All right, let's jump into the top five list today. And unfortunately, we have another athlete who, much like Kobe Bryant, passed way, way too early. I'm talking about Kyle Busch, the NASCAR driver, the legend of nascar, who recently passed away at age 41. Unbelievable that the sport has lost a legend so incredibly young. Busch Finished his career with 63 NASCAR Cup Series victories and two Cup Series championships. Known as one of the sport's all time greats, Fans called him rowdy. He also, by the way, held the record for the most wins across NASCAR's top three national series, a testament to his longevity and dominance. And when any, when a star from any sport passes away, often people choose to remember them through buying their cards for their collection. Collecting cards gives you a connection to the athletes and there's a lot of people that have been buying Kyle Busch's cards to have a connection to him. Upon the news of his passing, you can see here in Market Movers. Over the last 30 days, a lot of Kyle Busch's cards have been going up in value as interest in the cards has increased. This is considered to be his rookie card. This is from 2002 Choice Rising Stars NASCAR in PSA 9. This card recently sold for $380. That is up 173% from where it was 30 days ago when it was $139. Kyle Busch has a Downtown. This is from 2021 Donris NASCAR. This is the Kyle Busch downtown card in raw condition. This one recently sold for $398. It was $250. If you go back a few weeks ago, Kyle Busch has a blank slate as well. This is 2023 Donrus NASCAR. This is the blank slate of Kyle Busch in rock condition. This one most recently sold for $88. That was $29 prior to his passing. And this is his 2024 Select Color Wheel in raw condition. This is a $75 card. Now that was a $47 card. If you go back prior to that. So very, very sad that we lost Kyle Busch, a legend so young. But I'm happy for his fans that they can remember him through his cards. Let's turn our attention to baseball for the number four card today and it is Riku Nishida, the outfielder for the Chicago White Sox. Nishida has become one of baseball's best underdog stories, earning a call up from the White Sox after a rapid climb through the minors. Before his promotion, he was hitting.347 and had nine stolen bases across AA and AAA. His elite contact skills and speed have helped him consistently get on base and create pressure for opposing defenses. And this has a lot of people excited about his cards. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. This is Nishida's 2024 Bowman Chrome First Prospect Auto Card in raw condition. Look at this. This thing is up 662% over the last 30 days. This is about a $50 card today. Actually has sold recently for as high as around $90. You could have scooped that card up 30 days ago for $6. $6. It's now 50 bucks or more. So super cool to see that. This is the refractor version of the exact same card. This one's up a lot as well. Most recently sold for $52 for the refractor. This is the blue refractor number to 150. Most recently sold for $200. Go back a few weeks ago, you could have scooped that card up for $25. Not bad ROI there at all. And this is the purple refractor numbered to 250of the same card. This one up a good bit as well, having most recently sold for around $75. Now I'm going to say some words that I have never said before in top five history. In the number three spot, we have another Chicago White Sox back to back Chicago White Sox Braden Montgomery in the number three spot today. Braden Montgomery has wasted no time making an impact at the major league level. Quickly showing why he was viewed as one of baseball's premier hitting prospects. In fact, in his major League baseball debut, he launched a walk off home run, becoming just the fifth player in major League baseball history to hit a walk off homer in their MLB debut. He's a switch hitting outfielder. He brings a rare combination of power, athleticism and run producing ability that gives him star level upside. And there's certainly a lot of baseball card collectors and investors who believe that will translate into into big time card values. It's already starting to happen. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. This is Braden Montgomery's 2024 Bowman Draft first chrome prospect auto card in raw condition. This is a $104 card, but a few weeks ago, I mean even a week ago you could have scooped that up for 56 bucks. So that thing has shot up since his call up. Here's the refractor version of the same card. This is now $189. That's up about 18% over the last 30 days. This is his 2025 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto. This is a $43 card today. That was a $25 card a month ago. And then finally, this is his 2026 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Prospect Auto. The Mega Box Mojo Refractor. This thing is up to $65. That was $27 just 30 days ago. All right, enough Chicago White Sox. Enough, enough baseball. Let's Turn our attention to basketball and the NBA finals. And the number two spot on today's list, it is Karl Anthony Towns, the forward for the New York Knicks. Karl Anthony Towns has played a pivotal role in the Knicks playoff run. He has provided dominant interior presence. He's made things messy at times for Victor Wembanyama. Wemby's gotten the best of him at times, but he's certainly gotten the best of Wemby at times as well. And in game one of the finals, Kat posted 24 points and 14 rebounds. Of course, he helped fuel New York's comeback in that game. He's been big throughout the entire finals. And now the Knicks may be on on the verge of winning the championship possibly as soon as tonight, which may give his cards a boost even further. We'll see what happens. But what we can see right now in market movers is that his cards are already big time on the rise up. This is Karl Anthony's 2015 Donrus Base PSA 10. This is a 190 card today. That is up 153% from where it was when it was $75 just 30 days ago. This is Karl Anthony Towne's Prism rookie card once again from 2015 Prism base in PSA 10. This is close to a hundred dollar card today. You could have scooped that up for actually as little as about under $40. If you go back 30 days ago, you could have bought that card. Here's the prizm silver from 2015 prism in PSA 10. This is a $625 card as of the last sale. That was a $200 card 30 days ago. What an increase on that card from 200 bucks to $625. Very nice. Here's his 2015 select concourse in PSA 10. This one is up about 28%. It's about a $40 card today. And then finally, how about his second year, his downtown, his first downtown from 2016 studio. This by the year, by the way, was the first year downtowns were ever made in 2016 studio in PSA 10. This is now a $1,325 card. But a few weeks prior you could have bought that card for $676. Those are some nice increases on cat's cards. All right, we've made it. We've made it to the big moment of the show. It is time for today's number one card. But before I give it to you, let me remind you that all of the charts and graphs from today's program are from Market Movers. Market Movers is the best way to track card prices. Number one card of the week is no other than Jalen Brunson. Yes, Jalen Brunson. And of course we all know what happened a couple of nights ago. In game four of the NBA Finals, Brunson helped fuel a historic comeback as the Knicks erased a 29 point deficit, the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. And through the first four games of the NBA Finals, Brunson is averaging 29.5 points per game, delivering elite production on the biggest stage. He's been controlling the pace, he's creating offense late in games and he is delivering clutch moments for sure. Now he has an opportunity to close the spurs out tonight, Saturday night. And if he does that, he will give the Knicks their first championship since 1973. Wouldn't that be something for the city of New York? Let's see what happens. Let's see what's happening with this card prices here in Market Movers. Wow, look at that chart, ladies and gentlemen. This is Jalen Brunson's 2018 Donner Space in PSA 10. This card is up 133% in the last 30 days. That card will now cost you $235. You could have bought that card for less than $100 30 days ago. How about his Optic Base in PSA 10? Similar story. This is now $319. 30 days ago it was $105. How about his Prism Silver in PSA 10? This card is now close to $2,000. It's right around that $2,000 range. Would you believe you could have bought that card for less than 530 days ago? Think about that. Could have bought the card for less than 530 days ago. Today it is worth around $2,000. That is. That's what dreams are made of, ladies and gentlemen, when it comes to sports card investing. This is Jalen Brunson's 2018 prison base in PSA 10. This card is now close to $600. That card was down to $150 30 days ago. And then finally, how about his 2024 optic downtown in PSA 10. Cool design. On that card. I like that one. I like the little New York skyline and the Big Apple. And look at that Statue of Liberty. That's some good stuff. This is now close to a $4,000 card. Last sale was $3,850. That card was $2,325 30 days ago in PSA 10 condition. What a month for Jalen Brunson. What a month for the Knicks. It's going to be exciting to see where this all goes from here.
