Preseason football is causing some football cards to surge, but we've also got basketball cards going up and some baseball cards that are going through the roof. We'll tell you what those cards are now. Hello sports card investors and welcome to another Top Five Tuesday from the Arena Club studio here inside Cards hq. And ladies and gentlemen, are you as excited as I am that football is on TV again? Football is actually happening. Granted, it's just preseason right now, but football nonetheless in the regular season for college football and pro football, it's not too far away. It's one of my favorite times of the year. And of course, it's also a fascinating time to see what it does to the football card market. And we've got a couple of football cards to talk about on today's list. By the way, today's top five is sponsored by Whatnot. Whatnot has awesome live auctions every day and night starting at just $1 on for packs, boxes, breaks, singles and more. It's a lot of fun and if you scan the QR code on your screen or use the special link in our show description below, you'll get $15 in free credit when you sign up for Whatnot. All right, let's start the show by taking a look at the overall sports card market. With the market pulse by market movers over the last seven days, the SDI 500 index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards is up a little bit more. It's up 1% over the last seven days. It is up over 6% over the last 30 days. And sit down ladies and gentlemen. It is up over 44% since January 1st of this year. The sports card market has never been hotter. I feel like I've said that a bunch of times this year, but it's true. It has never been hotter. It keeps going up. Let's hope that continues to happen. But now let's talk about the cards that are going up and down the most. It is time for today's top five cards. We're starting today with a cold card as we do every week because it is a reminder that sometimes the hot cards featured on this program can quickly turn cold. So please invest carefully. And our cold card this week is Ja Morant, the guard for, well now the Portland Trailblazers. Ja Morant is getting a fresh start after the Grizzlies traded the two time All Star to Portland in his final season in Memphis last year. It was another frustrating season for Ja Morant. Injuries limited him to just 20 games. He averaged 19 and a half points per game in those 20 games. Now Portland is going to give him a change of scenery. Maybe this will help him get back to his explosive form that at one point had him as one of the NBA's brightest young stars. But surprisingly, the card market doesn't seem very excited about this trade. Most times when a player gets traded to another team, most times it helps their card market. But in this case, John Morant's cards have just kind of generally been on the decline, and that doesn't seem to be turning around anytime soon. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. I brought five of his rookie cards up on the screen. We're looking at the last 30 days. We're going to start with this 2019 hoops premium stock Pulsar in PSA 10. This one's down 50% over the last 30 days. Most recently sold for $20. That, of course, was a $40 card a few weeks ago. This is John Moran's Pink camo from 2019 Mosaic. And PSA 10, this went down 36% over the last 30 days. Most recently sold for $26. There was a sale of $41 on that a few weeks ago. His Prizm base in PSA 10 is down 30% over the last 30 days. It's now about $20. That card was about $30 days ago. His Prizm silver is down a smidge, down about 3% over the last 30 days in PSA 10. And then finally his select premier level silver in PSA 10 is down about 16% over the last 30 days. So we are not seeing a boost from John Morant getting traded. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It is sad to see how his cards have fallen because they were so hot a few years ago. But now let's talk about cards going up. And we're starting with our investment card of the week. And this week it is no other then Shaquille o'. Neal. Man, my wife Kim would be so happy. The big man Shaq in the investment card of the week slot this week and deservedly so. I'm going to show you what his cards are doing. They're absolutely going crazy. Now. You guys know Shaq had an incredible career. Six different teams. The Magic, the Lakers, the Heat, the Suns, the Cavs, and the Celtics. I think people like to forget about those Celtic years. But across all six teams, across a career that spanned multiple decades, Shaq was one of the most dominant forces in NBA history. He, of course, had overwhelming size, strength and athleticism. A true hall of Famer. But his card that has been going the most crazy recently is his 199293 rookie Stadium Club Beam Team members only card. This one is a. So it's a rare parallel of a rare insert from his rookie year. And this one has been going particularly crazy because Shaq, of course his cards in the early 90s were from the junk wax era. So a lot of his rookie cards are not rare. This is his one rookie card that actually is very, very rare and sought after. And look at this. Look how this thing is gone, guys. Look at the graph on the screen. It was only a matter of time. And I got to tell you, I am sad because I waited too long to buy this. This card has actually been on my wish list. This 1992 Topps Stadium Club Beam Team Members only. I have said repeatedly for months that I've wanted to pick up this card. I've actually said it going back to I think January. If you watch videos on this channel, I said I got to pick up one of these Shaq Beam Team cards. I really like these cards as a long term investment. Well, guess what? I've been asleep at the wheel. I didn't pick it up. And if I were to pick it up today, it would cost me about three times as much as it would have cost me back in January. We just had a record sale of this card in PSA 10 condition for $39,000. Let's look at the data here over the last year. A year ago that was a $12,000 card. Now it's a $39,000 card. That's what waiting does here on some of these iconic cards. PSA 9 has jumped from $750 all the way up to $4100. PSA 8.5 has jumped from $348 up to $815 over the last year. PSA 8 from $292 all the way up to $1600. And PSA 7 has gone from $200 to $330 over the course of the last year. These are all relatively low population compared to a lot of cards. It's in PSA 10. The total population on this Beam Team members only is 59. So you know that's kind of small compared to a lot of players rookie cards. So you can see why that one has accelerated so much in the market. But now let's turn our attention to players playing today. And in the number five spot on today's list it is Blake Burke, the first baseman prospect for the Milwaukee Brewers Blake Burke has put together a breakout season in the brewers organization, earning a promotion to Triple A. This week he's hitting.285 with 30 home runs and 88 RBIs plus 28 stolen bases, displaying an impressive combination of power and speed. And in fact, his 30 home runs have set a new single season double a Brewers record. He also one-of-one Player of the Month in his league in July. So a lot of excitement about Blake Burke and a lot of people hoping he can get up to the majors and do big things there. He's Here's a few of his cards in market movers. This is his 2024 Bowman Draft Chrome Prospect auto. This is the gold Refractor number to 50 in PSA 10 condition. This thing is up 124%. We just had a sale on this card of at over $1800 a month ago it was $810 so that is a huge gain there. This is the base version of the Auto Non Refractor in raw condition. You can pick this up today for 50 bucks but a few weeks ago it was as little as $25 so this one's been shooting up as well. Here's the Refractor in raw condition. This one's almost doubled today. This is around $100. It was around $50 a month ago. And then finally this is his Zebra edition auto number to 199 in raw condition. $120 today, $86 a month ago. What a month for Mr. Blake Burke. Let's go to football for the number four card today and it is Carson Beck, the new quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. Carson Beck turned heads in his NFL debut with the Cardinals in their first preseason game. He looked comfortable, he looked composed. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown, had no interceptions and finished with a passer rating of over 125 against Carolina. Of course he was a third round draft pick out of Miami and he showed that maybe he is one of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the 2026 draft class and his rookie cards may be cards that people start chasing when the new football releases start coming out actually next week. I think the Topps flagship is coming out this next week so we're going to have Carson Beck cards that we can start going after soon. But he does have cards from college which people have been going after right now. In fact, let's take a look at these. These are some of his college cards. This is his 2023 Bowman Chrome University first Bowman Prospect Auto card in raw condition. This is a $41 card today. But you could have scooped that card up for $20 just a month ago. So that one has doubled. Here is his 2024 Bowman Best University Best of 2024 Autographs Refractor. That is a $42 card today. But a month ago that was $21. So guess what, that one has doubled. And here's his 2024 Bowman Chrome University Prospect auto. This is in raw condition. This is a $60 card today. A month ago that was $25. So that one has more than doubled. And then finally his 2025 Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto in raw condition today. That is $40. A month ago, you guessed it, around $20. That one in fact has doubled. So it seems like Carson Beck has doubled us up. For any of us who own his cards, we're sticking with football for the number three spot today. And ironically it is the quarterback who played against Carson Beck in that preseason game last week. It is Haynes King, the quarterback of the Carolina Panthers. He made a major statement in his NFL preseason debut. Of course he joined Carolina as an undrafted free agent. But in that game against the Cardinals, King completed 21 of 34 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 rushing yards. And he saved his biggest play for last scrambling for a five yard walk off touchdown as time expired. That led Carolina into to a comeback one-of-one over Arizona and over Carson Beck. So that's why Haynes Kings cards are above Carson Beck's cards on the list today. Let's take a look here at Market Movers. These are his college cards. This is Haynes King's first Bowman Chrome University card from 2025. Bowman Chrome University in Rock Edition this is $43. But a month ago this one was only $10. So this one's up even more than Carson Beck's. This one's up 330%. Here's the Refractor version of the same card in raw condition today. This is $60. A month ago it was $15. So these things are really flying. Here's the purple Refractor. Today it's $90. A month ago it was $53. And then finally is 2025 Bowmanchrome University Campus Visit autograph number to 99, one of the insert autos in raw condition. Today it's 50 bucks. A month ago it was 30 bucks. Nice to see Haynes King having so much success in the sports card market. To baseball. We go for the number two card today and it is George Lombard Jr. The shortstop for the New York Yankees. George Lombard Jr. Has made an immediate impact since getting called up by the Yankees, giving New York a much needed spark on both sides of the ball. In fact, through his first six Major League Baseball games, he's hitting.286 with two home runs. Now, you may remember he was on the list last week because in his first major league game he hit a home run and then four days later he hit a home run against Atlanta. Unfortunately for me as a Braves fan, but nonetheless good. If you have any of his cards because they're going up right now. Let's take a look here. Look at these cards. Look how George Lombard Jr. S cards have absolutely taken off. You can see the chart here in Market Movers. These things have been crazy over the course of the last month. So let's look at these specifically. This is his 2024 Bowman First Bowman Chrome Prospect Auto Card in PSA10 condition. This card is now over $1,000, and you could have bought that for $350 just 30 days ago. That is a huge return on that card in 30 days. Here it is in PSA 9 condition. It's up even more from a percentage standpoint. It's now $469. But that was $143 just 30 days ago. Here it is in raw condition, up a lot. $358 as of the most recent sale. It was $165 30 days ago. Here is his 2024 Bowman Mega Box Chrome Prospect PSA 10, non auto. This is $248 today. That was $668 30 days ago. So that one is up massively. Another one that's up a lot as well is his Zebra edition. His first Bowman Zebra non auto, $106 today, only $19 30 days ago. That one's up. Crazy. Finally, his 2024 Bowman Best Best of 2024 autographs in raw condition, $135 today, $34 30 days ago. What a month for George Lombard Jr's cards. All right, here we are. We've reached a big moment in today's show. It is time for today's number one card of the week. I think you're really going to enjoy Market Movers. All right, here it is, the number one card of the week. Your possible MVP in baseball. Pete Crowe Armstrong. If there's one person who maybe can beat out show a who can get it done. PCA seems to be the guy who is going to do that this year. Pete Crowe Armstrong is hitting.286 on the season with 27 home runs, 73 RBIs, 30 stolen bases. This means he probably he's got to hit a couple more home runs, but he'll probably make it to 3030 this season with home runs and stolen bases and this will be the second year that he's done that. If he does that, he did that last year as well. Of course this past Tuesday is when he launched his 27th home run of the season against Washington and that helped the Cubs earn their seventh one-of-one in eight games as they continue to push in the NL Central. So not only is he playing good, but the Cubs are playing good and all of this means that his cards are doing good. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. We got five of Pete Krone Armstrong's cards up on the chart. This is his 2020 Bowman draft, his first Bowman card non auto in PSA 10 condition. This is $145 card today. You could have scooped that for as little as $75 if you go back a few weeks ago. Here's the Refractor version of the same card in PSA 10 condition. This is $383 today. That card was $116 30 days ago. So that thing is really, really sailing on up there. Here's his Rookie Auto from 2024 Bowman Chrome in raw condition. This is $333 today. $250 was the sale before that. So that one's edging up. Here's his home field advantage from 2024 tops raw condition. $200 today. You could have bought it for as little as a hundred dollars if you go back to a month ago. And then finally his 2024 tops rookie Refractor in raw condition on the more affordable end. Around $30 today. But that thing was around $10 30 days ago so it's even more affordable 30 days ago. You should have bought it back then. All right guys, I hope you enjoyed today's top five cards.
