For the first time ever, we have two quarterbacks from this same team in today's top five Cards list. Can you guess who they are? But we also have baseball and basketball to talk about as well. It's time for today's Top five. Hello, sports card investors, and welcome to another Top five Cards from the Arena Club studio here inside Cards hq. And what a time of the year it is right now. We've got the baseball playoff races in full swing. We've got football about to start just around the corner, and the sports card market has never been hotter. Things are looking pretty good and we're going to talk about what cards are the hottest now. And of course, today's top five is sponsored by Whatnot. Whatnot has awesome live auctions every day and night, Starting at just $1 for Paxbox's breaks, singles and more. It's a lot of fun and if you scan the QR code on your screen or use the special link in our show description below, you'll get $15 in free credit when you sign up for Whatnot. Okay, we're going to start the show by taking a look at the overall sports card market. With a market pulse by market movers, it continues to push upwards. Over the last seven days, the SEI 500 index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards is up another 0.6%. Over the last 30 days, it is up 4.7%. And since January 1, it is up an astounding 48.7%. Going down as one of the greatest years in the history of the sports card market. But now let's talk about what cards are going up and down the most. It is time for today's top five. We're starting today's list with a cold card of the week, as we do every week, because it is a reminder that sometimes the hot cards featured on this program can quickly turn cold in the sports card market. So please invest carefully. And that cold card this week is Khan Knippel, the guard for the Charlotte Hornets. He's one of those guys who was very, very hot. His cards were in the top five list last basketball season for good reason. He put together an impressive rookie season. He averaged 18.5 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 3.4 assist. He was also known for shooting the three where he shot 42.5% during this season. But his season ended on a sour note. Charlotte was eliminated by Orlando in the Play in tournament, and in that game, Knipple scored just 11 points on 3 for 10 shooting. He also fell short of the Rookie of the Year award. His teammate Cooper Flagg one-of-one that award in a very close race. So his cards, they've actually cooled this offseason. They've been going down. I wouldn't think that they're going to remain down too terribly long. I think that he's going to be back shooting the ball even better this next season. So maybe, maybe it's a buy low opportunity right now. But here, looking at market movers, you can see what I'm talking about. This is the last 30 days of some of Con Knippel's rookie cards. We're going to look at his 2025 Topps Chrome Refractor in raw condition. This is about a $48 card today, but that's down almost 28% from when it was around $70 just 30 days ago. And here is his 2025 Topps Chrome rookie autograph in raw condition. This card today is around $300, but that had gotten as high as $415. If you go back a few weeks ago. Here's his 2025 Topps Chrome base in PSA 10 condition. This one's down a little. Most recently sold for $108. That was selling for $122 30 days ago. And then finally one of his short prints. This is from 2025 Topps cosmic chrome. This is the Planetary Pursuit sun. This one down 20% in raw condition. Most recently sold for $120. That was as high as $164 a few weeks ago. So a little bit of softening with Con Knippel's market here in the NBA off season. But now let's talk about cards going up. And we're starting with our investment card of the week. And this week, although we don't normally do this, this week we gotta go outside of the sports card market. And we've got to look at what is going on with entertainment cards, non sports cards, entertainment cards. Because some of these cards have gone absolutely berserk. They have become the hottest category in the hobby. Franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and other pop culture properties have gained major attention and have attracted new collectors this year. And we're seeing vintage and rare entertainment cars from years past with especially strong demand. We're seeing high grade examples produce record sale after record sale after record sale. It's a combination of nostalgia, iconic characters, growing mainstream interest and frankly a lot of hype. And I will say be careful if you're going to buy these cards, be careful because There's a lot of hype right now. And whenever we see such a rush of hype, things can then start to soften and go the other direction when some of that hype starts to subside. But let's look at the last year of four of these cards in Market Movers. These are gone up so, so much, it is unbelievable. I gotta switch to the details here. The chart doesn't even like, you can't even begin to understand what's happening here. The Luke Skywalker 1977 Topps base in PSA 10 a year ago, there were two sales of that card for less than $10,000. Almost exactly a year ago, we just had a copy sell for $687,500. You heard me right. That card's gone from less than $10,000 to $687,500 over the course of the last year. Mickey Mouse. The 2023 Topps Chrome Refractor in PSA 10 a year ago it was $255. It most recently sold for $6,300. Batman. The 1966 Topps Batman Base in PSA 8 condition a year ago was $3,250. It most recently sold the other day for $3,500. And then finally, the Legend of Zelda. This 1989 Topps Nintendo sticker in PSA 10 condition a year ago was $250. Now it is $1,500,000. Non sports cards are having a moment, but be careful out there. But now, let's talk about players playing today. And in the number five spot of today's list, we're going with Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. And guys, doesn't this always happen around this time of the year? We're a few weeks out from the season starting, and all the hype around the Dallas Cowboys begins to build every year. They're featured on every sports show, it seems like on tv. And there's a lot of people with optimism about Dallas heading into the season. That often doesn't work out very well once the season starts. But we're in the optimism cycle again right now, and Dak Prescott's cards are getting bought up and going up as a result. And look, Dak had a good year last year. He threw for, what, 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns. I think that was the third highest, second highest yardage and third highest in touchdowns of his career. So he's coming off a good season. He, of course, has Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens as his two wide receivers. So maybe arguably the best wide receiver duo in the league. So there's reasons to be excited. But of course you know the Cowboys have broken many fans hearts in the past. I don't know if that's going to happen this year or not, but let's look at some of Dak Prescott's rookie cards. I've got several of his cards up here on the screen. We're going to start with his 2016 Donruss Basin PSA 10. This thing is now $100 card. You could have scooped that card for $85 a month ago. So that's moving up a little bit there. Here's his 2016 Optic Purple in PSA 10 and over the last few weeks this one was $150. It is now $160. So it's moved up a little bit. Here we're looking at his 2016 Prizm Silver in PSA 10 and this one's nudged up from $225 up to about 240 $45 over the course of the last month. His optic base, we didn't look at that one yet. That one's also up quite a bit. His optic base in PSA 10 from 2016 was $100 a month ago. Now it's $129. And then looking at a couple of his kind of short prints in case hits for more recent years, his 2023 Mosaic Stained Glass in PSA 10 has jumped up from 250225 dollars a month ago to 250 dollars today. And then finally his 2024 Optic Duel Downtown with CD Lamb. That card was less than 500 dollars a month ago and now it is trading between about 560 and 610 dollars. So the hype around Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, it's real. Let's go to baseball for the number four spot today. And it is Mitch Voight, the second base prospect for the New York Mets. Mitch Voight has caught fire since his promotion to Double A Binghamton, quickly establishing himself as one of the more intriguing bats in the Met system. In his first double A series, Voight hit.500. Yes,500. Not bad and earned Eastern League Player of the Week honors. And then he followed that up with a career high five hit game just days later, continuing an impressive start at this new minor league level. So there's a lot of baseball prospectors that are starting to scoop up his cards. Let's take a look here in Market Movers at the last 30 days and you can see what these are doing on the chart. We're going to start with his 2025 Bowman draft first Bowman Chrome prospect auto in raw condition. You can snag this card today for around $36, so not too bad, but a month ago you could have bought it for less than $20, so that's definitely been moving up. Here's the Refractor version of the same card number to $499. This will cost you a little more today. In raw condition this is $155, but a month ago it was about $50. So that one is up quite a bit. Here is the 2025 Bowman Draft Mega Box. The Mojo Prospect Auto about 30 bucks today, but that was about $14 3030 days ago. And then finally we're going to look at his 2025 Bowman Draft Zebra Edition Auto in raw condition. Number to 199. This one's actually sold recently for as much as $160. The last sale was down a bit at $108, but a month ago it was down a lot at $95. So this thing has been moving up. We're staying with baseball for the number three spot today, but we're going with a player getting it done in the majors. How about Jordan Alvarez, the the DH for the Houston Astros? Jordan Alvarez has put together an MVP caliber season, establishing himself as one of the most dominant hitters in baseball. He's batting.323 with 36 home runs and 91 RBIs, putting him firmly in the Triple Crown conversation as he enters the final stretch of the regular season. He also leads the MLB in ops, which is his combination of average, power and run production and this has made him the leading candidate for American League mvp. And if you've got his cards, you're doing well. Look at these in market movers. Look at them going up. We're going to start with his 2018 Bowman Best Best of 2018 autographs in PSA 10 condition. $405 today, but a month ago that was $300. Let's look at his 2019 Bowman Chrome prospect card in PSA 101077 today, but a month ago that WAS $43. Let's look at his 2020 Topps rookie card. The base in PSA 10 today is now approaching $40, but a month ago that was down around $25. This is his 2020 Topps Chrome rookie auto Refractor number to 499 in raw condition. This is $300 today, but if you go back a few weeks before that, it was $257. This is his 2020 Topps Chrome base in PSA 10. This car's a little over $50 today, but a month ago you could have scooped it for as little as $30. And then finally, the Refractor from 2020 Topps Chrome in PSA 10. This card today is going to push between about $120 and $140, but a month ago it was between $109 and all the way down at $80. So all of Jordan Alvarez's cards appear headed in the right direction. All right, we got one more baseball player on today's list. In the number two position, it is Cade Anderson, the pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. Cade Anderson's rapid rise through the Mariners organization culminated in his MLB debut against the Cubs, becoming the first player from the 2025 MLB Draft class to reach the majors. And in that game, Anderson allowed three runs over five and two thirds innings while striking out five. He showed flashes of the stuff that made him baseball's number one pitching prospect after reaching the majors. Barely a year after being selected third overall by Seattle, Anderson now has the opportunity to establish himself as another cornerstone of the Mariners rotation. Let's take a look here at some of his cards. You see how they have benefited from his call up to the majors. We're starting by looking at his 2025 Bowman draft cross chrome etched in glass variation. Pretty cool card in Rock Edition. This just sold for $270, but a few weeks before that you could have bought it for $205. How about his 2020 Bowman draft base? First, the paper Bowman in PSA 10 condition. $159 today. That was selling for as little as $60 just a few weeks ago. This is his 2025 Bowman draft mega Box Mojo Chrome in raw condition today. Still an inexpensive card today between about $11 and about $18, but a month ago you could have got that for as little as $8. So that one is moving up. Here's his Zebra Edition from 2025 Bowman Draft Zebra in raw condition. This is a 37 card today, but it has sold recently for as high as $50 and a month ago was like 35 bucks. So that one's been moving up some as well. And then finally his 2026 Bowman Chrome prospect Auto in raw condition. Nice looking card there. $109 as of the most recent sale, $82 30 days ago. We've reached a big moment in today's show. It is time for today's number one Car. Download the Market Movers app today. Try it for free. I think you're going to love Market Movers. All right, here we are. I told you in today's list there were two quarterbacks from the same team. I don't think that's ever happened before in the history of top five. Why would it? Why would you have two quarterbacks from the same team in the top five? Well, you already heard Dak Prescott's name in the number five spot. So guess who's number one? Would you believe it is Joe Milton. Joe Milton, the quarterback, the backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys is number one in the top five today. Why? Well, Joe Milton has taken advantage of of his preseason opportunity with Dallas. He put together two strong performances in his battle for the number two spot behind Dak Prescott for that team. Through those two preseason games, Milton has completed 21 of 28 passes for 286 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. His best showing came against Arizona where He threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Also added a rushing score in that game to lead Dallas to a 34 to 13 victory. Now maybe one of the reasons why people are buying Joe Milton cards is because maybe they think he could get traded and hey, that might not be a bad bet. And that's why his cards could be moving up at the same time Dak Prescott's cards could be moving up. Dak is clearly going to be the starter, but maybe Joe ends up on another team later this season and if that happens, patch auto for his card prices. So people are getting in early right now. And let's look at six of Joe Milden's cards. You can see on the chart how these things have gone up over the last 30 days. We're going to start with his 2024 Contenders rookie ticket auto in raw condition. This is a $25 card today, but that is up 143% because a month ago it was a ten dollar card. So that one is moving up quite a bit. Here's his 2024 Contenders Optic rookie ticket auto in raw condition. That's $41 to today. You could have scooped that for $25 a month ago. Here's his 2024 Donruss Optic preview red wave in PSA 10 condition. Today. That's a $43 card but a month ago it was $20. We're also going to look at his 2024 Donruss Optic preview red Pandora in PSA 10. That's a $62 card as of the most recent sale. That was a $28 card just a couple of weeks ago. Here's his 2024 Optic Hollow in PSA10 condition. That's a 60 card as well today. That was a 41 card a few weeks ago. And then finally, let's look at his 2024 Prizm Silver PSA 10. This is a $145 card as of the most recent sale. But you could have bought that a month ago for 65. $5. What an increase in Joe Milden's cards. All right guys, there you have it. Those are the top five sports cards of the week. I hope you enjoyed the show. If you did, please give it a like Please give our channel a subscribe and please go get Market Movers. Give it a shot.
