Welcome everybody to Pop Cards Pod with Papa Slabs. Good to have you here. We got a ton to cover today so let's get rolling on this episode. Let's first look at Slab Stocks Pop calendar coming up and there is a big Release next week, June 3, 7:45am Central Time, 8:45 Eastern. We are releasing Star Wars Masterwork with Papa Slab. So good to have you joining me on that one. Be sure to become a slapstocks insider. All you have to do is text the word join to 888-425-1089. You want to be on our insiders list because as soon as we list the product you will be informed and you can get your favorite spots to become a Slap Stocks insider before we list that product in the store which will be coming up any day now. So be sure to get in on that. All right, just a reminder, new products coming in 2026. Topps Vault Pixar will be released in 26 as well as Topps Marvel Illustrious. That is going to be a cool product that will include actual Marvel artists contributing to the sketch cards. You don't want to miss out on that. We don't have release dates for those yet but as soon as we do we will let you know. And coming up in 2027 big pop card releases. 65th anniversary of Spider Man. Let's go one of Aaron's favorites and the 50th anniversary of Star wars. And I am hoping as a Star Wars OG 12 years old when that first New Hope episode came out, I am hoping it is heavy on OG stuff. So let's go 50th anniversary Star wars coming out in 27 as well as another release of Spongebob which I assume is in top spot Chrome, but who knows. Let's see and let's see what it's going to be. If you want to come see myself slapstocks Aaron, Jack from our shipping team. We the three of us are going to be at the All Star Midwest Monster Sports Card show in fishers, Indiana on June 5th and 6th. That's just coming up in a weekend and a half. So it is right around the corner, the Midwest Monster. If you followed us for years, you know that is where we release our Camp Kessem fundraiser. Aaron and Jack are going to be combing the floor for $5,000 worth of cards which has been donated by our sponsor card ladder and that money is going to go directly to cards available to you at the national in our Camp Kessem showcase. So be sure to watch. There's going to be a video, I'm sure from the Midwest Monster. But if you are near Fishers, Indiana, come visit us, say hi, check out our cases and let's just have a good time. All right. What is the state of the pop card industry in 2026? Believe it or not, there's been 15 pop card releases by tops this year alone. That's from January to May. So it's almost mid year. Let's take a look, see how those things are selling and the breakdown of those 15 releases. Five of them fall under the Marvel banner, four under the Disney Pixar banner, four under WWE, one under Star Wars. So it's been very light on Star Wars. I'm glad there's something coming out next week. And one under the Stranger Things fifth season. So that's the breakdown of how they rolled them out for the first half of the year. I hope they have as cool a rollout in the second half of the year and let's see what they got to bring us. But I gave you a little bit of a preview of what's coming today. We're going to cover, I'm going to do 500 and $100 comparisons what you can get from each of those releases with the exception of wwe, which I believe is an animal all its own. I included in our pop cards kind of culture. But that's a whole different topic for another podcast. So let's look at all the other releases, the Marvel, the Pixar, the Disney Stranger Things and Star wars and let's see what's happening. Let's tackle Marvel first. Early in the year, January 2nd, Marvel Studios was released first set with the Marvel superheroes, human real people, not cartoon, not animation, real people playing those characters. And one of the recent 500 or slightly less sales, Natalie Portman autograph can be nabbed for about $500 right now. And that's about five months after that release on the secondary market. Now Aaron's idea. What can you get for $500 from each of these products? Which was a good suggestion but I also added layer on the right side of the screen. What can you also get for $100? Because to me $500 is a little steep for my blood. So what can I actually get out of these sets for $100? And at the end of the let me know what your favorite releases are of the year in the pop cards market. So for $100 out of Marvel Studio you can nab a thor out of 25. This is 15 out of 25 refractor geometric refractor out of the Breaker Delight configuration. That's where the geometric comes in. But out of 25 you can get a Thor for $89. So well under 100. So you can get pretty cool low serial number cards out of the set for $100. In February, Marvel the Collector came out and this had super cool dual autographs encased cards within that release as you can see on the screen. So right now in the secondary market, this is a major, major autograph, right? Jeremy Renner dual autograph with Chris Evans dual black. This is a out of 10. You can get that for under $500 for the dual auto of Hawkeye and Captain America. So super cool auto, under $500. Still rich for my blood. So what could I get for under $100 right now in this time of place? Encased human torch perfection orange out of 25. So that's a super cool card. And that's the dude who plays Eddie in Stranger Things. So it's kind of got my eye. You can get that for $75 on the secondary market. That just sold a few days ago on the 26th for under $100. $75. So that's where the collector stands. Just some cool cards and Marvel Deadpool, that was a fun release and that had really good play. That came out believe it or not, on April 1st. And it was no April fool because there's some serious sales coming out of this set. Take a look. You know you can get a reflection super short print of Cyclock kaleidoscope out of 25. Sold for 475. So those reflections, which also follow a lot of reflections from Star wars. Some of the other sets, some of the Disney sets I believe had them. But that short print out of 25 Reflections is right now sold on May 21 for 475. If you got limited budget like me, under $100 is more in your play. You can get cool on card sketches for under $100. This one here, Archangel, signed by the sketch artist, $83. Just sold on May 26th. Because I like this set and there's some really cool stuff. Best bubs auto of Welsh tool sold for 500 on the nose recently. That was in April. And also a dead Deadpool headpool artist signed for $85. So these artist cards which look really awesome could be really gathered pretty cheap in this set. I'd say under $100 is a pretty good deal. Let's look at topps finest. Fantastic Four released just two weeks later April 15th. This is a cool set. Now for a pop card collector like me, this set has a lot of what I'm looking for. The adversary's insert. The insert with the one of one. As you can see there for $500. Somebody just grabbed the Silver Surfer insert with the actual comic book art in it. That's super cool. Those two sold right out.500 on the button. The one of one adversary super sold for $500. And then you have $400. You kind of got the ID card for the Human Torch, which is super cool on the right hand side. That one sold for 98. Just over $98. Those are cool and those get me going. I enjoy this set and has a lot of really neat inserts. But you can get a one of one, you know, superfractor of super skull for $500. A lot of money, but it's a one to one super fracture. So pretty cool. Let's move on to Disney Pixar. What has come out from Disney Pixar this year? January 7th. Pixar Gold. Really, really nice premium cool set in case cards. And a really high quality gold foil cards were in these. Now the Frozone autograph. Samuel L. Jackson super chasing this thing. Frozone, you know, the voiceover, all that stuff. So for under $500 recently. So that is a high chase for under $500. I'd say pretty premium card. Still out of my budget. So what can you get for under $100? You know, Papa Slams looking for those deals at the shows. I'll be looking at Midwest Monster and you can get in case sully out of 25, super cool card, orange sully sullivan super scared for 81.50 in the secondary market. And so pretty cool card. Nice encased Pixar card for $100. Disneyland 70th came out quickly. Some of these were released in the park only. And the happy haunts the right duelist who, if anybody saw the haunted mansion there would know it's based on the death of the duelers. $475 for the out of five park exclusive red. That's a pretty high price. That's pretty premium. Big chases in here. The Moana autograph card. And you can see it has no autograph on it. Because the idea is you get the 70th autograph card, you go hunt down Moana, get her autograph on the card and you got a one of one. So pretty cool. That one sold for $99. Those autographed cars are obviously big. Chase is $100 for a non autographed card that is meant to seek out an autograph. Pretty cool concept. That came out on March 13th. Disney Neon came out April 17th. About a month later, those Scrooge coins were kind of a chase, which is kind of surprising because those things were in every single case. Every case had one. But here's a super short find here. 25 out of 25 Scrooges money bin coin out of 25 just sold for $500 on May 26th. In my budget, $100 or less. What can you get? Well, you could get a nice crunk gold autograph by Patrick Warburton. That one sold for $91. Also on the 26th off of eBay. So you can get some really nice autos for under $100 from this fun set. And if you're after your Scrooge coins, there's plenty of them out there. So just hunt around. You don't have to get the the out of 25. There's regular base coins out there. You can grab for a lot lower. Then finally, The Toy Story 30th anniversary release released on May 6th. Just sold. Just sold on May 24th is the one of one hockey puck gold from the 30th anniversary set. That one sold for $467. Just under the $500 threshold. I would love a hockey puck one of one that is super cool. It's a foil fracture, I believe. And then for under $100, who could, who could resist? And out of 10, Buzz and Woody falling with style. Seven out of 10. That one sold for 100 on the nose. Very cool card numbered out of 10. So pretty sweet. What's up in Star wars world, the release this year that has come out until June 3rd, which will be coming up next week. Remember, join me for that one. But smugglers outpost gain in March 18th. Recent sales. One of the OG Hans Solo Couture is metal. Three out of five red. I guess you call it. Three out of five number $485. OG Han Solo big sale there on that one. One of the biggest. And then you know you got these really cool shadow boxes. You got the R2D2 shadow box. This one's numbered out of 10. So very low serial number. You can see it up in the corner in the top right there. That one sold just under a shave under $100 recently on May 27th. So nice little, nice little grab for whoever got that low numbered shadow box. And then you had the Stranger Things Season 5 release. Super cool set full of a Lot of actual cast use relics. One of the things I love this Chrissy, Chrissy, one of one relic with the American flag label just sold for $499.99. That sold on March 7th. Super cool relic. The cool thing is Chrissy was only in one episode. First episode, Season 4 Hellfire Club episode. Very cool. She had a very epic part, very epic scene. And obviously these relics are getting big dollar, you know. But if you want, if you want big name characters, you got 11. Millie Bobby Brown. She just sold for under $100 for a gold out of 75 base card. It's got the nice gold background finish of the thunder lightning type of effect. And that one was under $100. Key character from that series. So pretty cool stuff. So my question to you, which would you choose? You just saw 11 releases taken out the WWE. Which set would you choose? Right now, midway through the year, as you see the secondary market performing and emerging of these sets, they are actually doing quite well. I'll give you a little bit of Papa Slabs picks on this one. I enjoyed the Stranger Things set. I thought it was very clever and super high quality. The upside down cards were really cool. You can get a Nancy autographed upside down card for under $100 right now in the secondary market. I think the Stranger Things set deserves a call out for what's happening with that market. Fantastic Four. I kind of tipped my hand earlier. I love the Fantastic Four set because what's in it really excites non sports popcorn collectors like me. With the comic book art in it and the comic book covers that are numbered and serial. The ID card. There's so much in that set that's fun to collect for pop card guys like me. Last one who could pass up on Toy Story 30th. I mean, if you can get a one on one super fracture of hockey pup for under $500, that's a pretty cool addition to the set. I think those cards are super affordable. And if you follow the Toy Story series as I have with my family, definitely something that's easy to get to have fun and actually invest in some of the cool cards with. Not without breaking the bank. So I think that one has some real potential for collectors like me. Now onto the final slab. I always wrap up Pop Guards pods with a final slab. I got to give a shout out to no one other than SpongeBob SquarePants. We got the bubble fractor of SpongeBob SquarePants card number 25 from the set. These things are selling through the rope you are talking about a card numbered out of 99. This bubble fractor did get a 10 from PSA. So somebody got it graded, got a 10 on it, and it sold recently on May 3rd for $1200. And there's 99 other ones out there to chase. So good luck in finding spongebob squarepants Bubble fracture. It is a parallel that is obviously paying off right now. 99 of them and this 1 sold for $1200. That's my final slab. Final word. Don't forget to join me on June 3rd for TOPS Star Wars Masterwork release day. It's going to be a great day. It's going to be a great pop card date. Everybody at have a good one. Appreciate you joining me. Remember, we're pulling for you and we love the pop card market. Take care.
