A class action lawsuit has been filed against Collectors Holdings, the parent company of PSA, along with SGC and BGS, alleging violations of U.S. antitrust laws. The complaint claims that Collectors’ acquisitions of SGC (February 2024) and BGS (December 2025) reduced competition in the trading card grading market. According to the filing, Collectors now controls approximately 80% of the market. The lawsuit cites multiple changes following these acquisitions, including: Price increases across PSA, SGC, and BGS services Increased turnaround times for grading services Changes to service structures, including bulk pricing The plaintiff alleges these actions resulted in higher prices and lower service quality for consumers.
