Terms of Service

Plain-English summary: Collector Nation is a discovery platform for hobby content that already exists on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. We don't host videos — we embed them with permission from the original platforms. We don't process payments, we don't sell your personal data, and we don't take ownership of anything creators post. The full terms below are the legally binding version.

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, mobile applications, APIs, and other services (collectively, the "Services") operated by [COLLECTOR NATION LEGAL ENTITY NAME, LLC] ("Collector Nation," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Services you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. What Collector Nation does

Collector Nation is a discovery and curation platform for the sports-card, trading-card, and collectibles hobby. Our core functionality is:

Aggregating links, metadata, and embeds of hobby-related videos, livestreams, images, and articles already published on third-party platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) using those platforms' official embed tools, oEmbed endpoints, and publicly-documented APIs.
Organizing that content into feeds, topic pages, creator profiles, editorial shelves, and a search index.
Allowing signed-in users to bookmark ("save") content, follow creators, and receive a personalized feed.
Operating a rights desk and moderation queue to respect creator wishes, platform policies, and intellectual-property law.

2. What Collector Nation does NOT do

For the avoidance of doubt, Collector Nation does not currently do any of the following, and you should not rely on us for any of them:

We do not host primary video or image content. When you watch a video on Collector Nation, the bytes are being served directly by the original platform (e.g. youtube.com) through its standard embedded player, subject to that platform's Terms of Service and privacy policy.
We do not process payments, sell cards, broker sales, hold escrow, or act as a marketplace. External links to shop pages or partner retailers may appear as "Sponsored" or "Shop" callouts, but any transaction you complete happens on the linked third-party site under their terms, not ours.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of what we collect and why.
We do not accept user-uploaded primary content. At launch, only content ingested from verified third-party platforms or produced by Collector Nation itself appears in the feed. If and when user uploads are introduced, these Terms will be amended.
We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, or investment value. Card-market prices, creator commentary, and editorial picks are for informational and entertainment purposes only — not financial, investment, or tax advice.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services, and at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If we learn that a user is below the minimum age, we will terminate that account.

Authentication is handled by our identity provider (currently Clerk, Inc.). You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for every action taken under your account.

4. Content you encounter

The vast majority of content surfaced on Collector Nation is published by third parties on third-party platforms. Ownership of that content remains with its respective creator or rightsholder. Collector Nation claims no ownership over embedded third-party content.

If you are a creator or rightsholder and believe a piece of content should not be surfaced on Collector Nation (for any reason — copyright, trademark, publicity rights, personal preference, or policy violation), you can file a takedown request at our DMCA & takedown page. Properly-filed requests are actioned by a human moderator, usually within 72 hours.

5. User conduct

You agree not to use the Services to:

Violate any applicable law, including intellectual-property, publicity, privacy, export, or consumer-protection law.
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any creator, sponsor, manufacturer, or grading service.
Scrape, systematically copy, or build a competing index from our content, feed, or search API beyond the rate limits and access patterns we document.
Upload or transmit malware, interfere with the integrity of the Services, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the system.
Harass, threaten, or dox other users, creators, moderators, or Collector Nation staff.

6. Intellectual property

The Collector Nation name, logo, shield mark, editorial copy, software, design system, and the specific arrangement of feeds, shelves, and pages are owned by Collector Nation and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not use them without written permission, except to link back to Collector Nation in the ordinary course of talking about us online.

7. Third-party services

Your use of Collector Nation may involve third-party services: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook for content playback; Clerk for authentication; Vercel, Railway, Stripe (if/when enabled), Sentry, and similar providers for infrastructure and analytics. Your interactions with those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that any feature will be available continuously, that any card-market data will be accurate, that any creator remains on the platform, or that embedded third-party content will remain available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Collector Nation and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.

In no event will Collector Nation's aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Services exceed the greater of one hundred United States dollars ($100) or the amounts you have paid Collector Nation in the past twelve months.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Collector Nation and its affiliates from any claim, demand, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Services, or (c) your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING STATE, e.g. Delaware], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
