We're back at again for brand New week and following that interesting episode that we did last week, which ironically, I mean, I'm not gonna say, I mean, I've dropped a few followers, but that's pretty typical I find. Actually Instagram does that quite frequently. They'll just drop like a dozen or so of your followers. Yeah. And then about a couple days later, you'll magically regain them back. It's almost like they do like a quality assurance test. Yeah, but they don't freaking tell you shit. It's aggravating. Yeah, it's real fun. But today we're going to be looking at the top 10 Obsidian Flames cards. Apparently Arcanine is getting a new look. Disney acquires the rights to the Pokemon franchise again because they did once, already lost it and then somehow got again. We're going to be picking our cards for the giveaway binder. This time we're doing Hole on Flame or Hole in Phantoms. And we're also right before that doing a new segment. Up until now we were doing the most iconic TCG cards of X Pokemon that has since ended because the articles ended. And so my co host and I decided that we're going to pick a Pokemon from Gen1. So yeah, I think we're going to do Gen1 this week, then two next week kind of thing. Once we hit the end of Gen 9, we'll revert back and pick another one from Gen 1 and so on, so forth. But we're each going to pick a Pokemon from Gen1 with a interesting or a Pokedex entry that we seem to enjoy or like or cringe at or whatever tickles our fancy. But first, starting off with the top ten Obsidian Flames cards, starting off at number one is of course the Charizard ex sir at $117 flat. Number two is Ninetales, the illustration rare. A huge drop all the way down to $44.58. But then things kind of just even out from there. Number three is Cleffa, the illustration rare. It's $42.26. Charizard EX comes back again, but this time the hyper rare at $41.12. Gloom. The illustration rare is number five at $27.86. And yet again, Charizard Ex, the ultra rare, this time comes back, but significantly lower than the other ones at $25 in $55. Pidgeot EX, the SIR is at number seven at $23.18. Number eight is the Pidgey, the illustration rare at $19.19. SISOR illustration rare is number nine at $18.95. And finally, number ten is a very interesting pick. Lechonk, the illustration rare. Interesting, sure. Yeah. I mean, the price tag, sure. You know, interesting that it makes the top 10. It's a whopping $14.48. Wow. So, I mean, they're all, you know, sirs, IRS. I mean, you mix in a couple or one hyper rare, one ultra rare, but it all comes to a grand total of $374.07. That's nothing. Yeah. Which is absolutely nothing now. I mean, is Obsidian Flames wasn't real. Well, it was kind of sought after because of all the Charizards, but other than that, like, Charizard was really the only quote unquote hype card, if you can call it that. Really. And I. Luckily I pulled that during a live, but it's not great. It's not going to be a 10. So I. I pulled it though. Even if you pulled it straight off as a freaking conveyor belt at wherever the hell Pokemon prints their cards, you're guaranteed to get some jackass at PSA who says it's not. Says it's not a 10. You know, maybe he woke up on the wrong side of bed. Maybe he found his wife cheating on him. Who freaking knows? Who knows? Maybe his pickup truck died. I don't freaking know. But then, then again, you could get some guy who, you know, maybe he. He found a. Found a lucky penny on the road that morning and he's feeling lucky and figures, you know what? Screw it. Everybody gets a 10 today. You just ran over that card to ask her. It's still a 10. Yeah, you never know. I mean, PSA is weird like that, but next we're going to look into arcanine. You See, winds and waves dropped a new leak or. Wow. They didn't drop a new leak. A common leaker. Central Leaks dropped a new leak. It appears that as they put it, after 30 years, Arcanine is getting a brand new look. Which that's not true, you see, because we have Hisuian. He's doing Arcanine. That didn't come out 30 years ago. That came out in sun and Moon. Or sorry, not Sun, Moon, Legends, Arceus. Yeah, Legends. Yeah. So that's the thing. We've all had new forms, right? Say it. A regional variant or in some forms of some kind of unique way. Right. We've had things like Variety, Whooper, Zapdos, Sandslash, Doug Trio, just to name a few. I mean, Growlithe and Arcanine as well. Yep. And Vulpix. Yeah, and Vulpix. Yeah. We've also had weather forms, right? Like. Yeah. Castform, I believe, is the only Pokemon that has different weather. Well, no, not well, kind of catchphrase. Has different weather than Rotom's. Different electrical. However, I mean, you can also look at Thunderous Landrus as technically different forms. They're all the same Ish Pokemon. Yeah, it's just variations, I guess. Yeah. But I mean, the same could be said about the Regis. They're all Exactly Reggies. They're just different versions of them. Right. So of course, in this new Waves and Winds and Waves game, Arcanine is said to be one of the Pokemon who's getting a new weather form. It's worth noting that Arcanine has his own regional form mentioned in Legends rcs. However, other Pokemon apparently are getting new weather farms also, including Lucario, Calcion, Pikachu, and a handful of new gen 10 monsters that have yet to be officially announced. It's also reported that Salandit will get a regional evolution, most likely a Poison Dragon type, while Psyduck is getting a new Ice Psychic Regional Evolution line. Well, at least the male or female will have a different form. It's not going to be just female for Salandit to evolve. Yeah. Now it's unsure how these new forms will work. For instance, do Pokemon gain temporarily the new form depending on the weather during battle, like Castform, or do they evolve into a different form based on the weather, whether it's raining, snowing, etc. So if your Growlithe evolves while it's snowing, does it turn into a Snow Growlithe or Arcanine? Who freaking knows? We'll see how that works when it comes out. If it comes out. In that way, again, we're looking at what, 20, 27 for this game to come out. Yes. It's not a long ways away, but it's long enough that a leak can mean guarantee or could mean something completely. 180 of what? Exactly. So we'll keep an eye on that and see what happens. But I mean, I. I sometimes really dislike leaks because I'd rather be surprised. Yeah. At the same time, sometimes it's nice to see leaks because it determines or it helps me determine whether or not I'm going to spend the freaking 80 to 90 Canadian to buy the dumb game. Yeah, it's dumb, right? Like I'll say it. Legends Arceus I bought it because I figured, what the hell, there's been enough hype. I bought it a couple years after it came out and it's not that great. No, it's not one. It's not one of the better games. RCS in my opinion, sucks. It really does. Legend Za Same kind of concept to rcs, but in my opinion, better done. Yeah, I do miss the. The gym battles in a sense. Yeah, definitely. The last time we got that was in Scarlet and Violet. Technically. I mean, yeah, it was Jim Bells, but you also had the star battles, so it was kind of cool. I like that. Yeah, Garland Violet did good. Stone Shields was weird. Yeah. But yeah, Legends RCS sucked big time. It did. It is not the best game. I never even finished it. No, I mean I probably never will, but. We move on to Disney is now apparently acquires the rights to Pokemon franchise for the Disney Channel and Disney xd. Yet again it has been revealed that the Walt Disney Company has acquired the rights to the show on both Disney Channel and XD. Both the channel and XD will start to air the Pokemon animated series on August 6th. It will then be available on Disney streaming service the next day. Now. Acast powers the world's best podcasts. Because they used to have Pokemon on Disney XD, I believe it was back in the day, 2017 era. But the fact that it says that it will be available on Disney plus the next day, again, what the hell does that mean? We don't have brand new episodes that come out daily or weekly like we do. Yeah, back in the day. Right, Exactly. I used to watch the original Pokemon anime. You know, for me, it was every morning at 5 o' clock in the morning, I used to wake up and try and watch that and not get yelled at by my parents. So it's. It. It's vague, to be honest. There are some comments on this pot or on this post. Some of them say that, you know, Pokemon used to be on the Cartoon Network. It's just. It's disappointing for Netflix and Warner Brothers, I guess. Or, sorry, yeah, for Warner Bros. I guess Warner Brothers is getting sold to some other company, so I could care less about ever watching any of their content ever again. But that is awkward for Netflix since they hosted movies and that stopped. And that stopped. Animated show, the. Oh, they're referencing the concierge. Okay. I mean, it's not bad. Yeah. It reminds me of like the good old days of the old Rudolph. Yeah, pretty much. That's what it looks like. Yeah. And now that you say I was. I was kind of wondering what it reminded me of. It does. Yeah. Some people were saying that they don't own Disney plus and I know how to sail to seven seas. But I wonder what episodes will be available? Will it be the whole show? The newer seasons, the original series? They have daily uploads on Pokemon TV on YouTube, which are two weeks away from finishing Battle Frontier before moving into Sinnoh. And Horizons just released season three part three a couple weeks ago and that was as of July 6th, so end of June. Ish. They released season three part three. You know, some people are saying that they hope that Disney doesn't also gain the ability to have input on any future Pokemon episodes. They ruined enough and that they shouldn't touch Pokemon. And whatever happened to Nintendo being greedy and just keeping everything in their pocket? And one random person was pissed off that Pokemon was ruined after Kalos region, when Serena said goodbye, they redesigned Ash and the rest of the characters and the show got weird. That's funny. Which I. I mean, I can't disagree with it. Yeah. I mean, I hate the new version of Ash, but I mean, at the same time, I was gonna say animation evolves over the years, so. Yeah, you'd be stuck in the 90s forever. Exactly. But, you know, it is what it is. Yeah. Now, up next, we're going to go through our binder actually giveaway first and then finish off on the Pokedex entry. Okay. My pick for Horn Phantoms is Dark Metal Energy. Now, Dark Metal Energy is nothing really special. It. It's one of those energies where it either provides dark energy or metal energy, which is kind of nice, but that's not the first time we've seen that where it provides one energy or the other. I honestly, I picked it because of the artwork. It just looks menacing. Like it's the whole dual energy special energies that they have in this set just look menacing in general. Yeah, they do. I saw the Dark Metal one, I thought that looks psychotic. Like, it just looks disgustingly evil. Yeah, I'm like, that's really cool. And they even have like the. I mean, I'm looking at a picture. I don't know if it's. If you can get it like this, but they have the Hoenn Phantoms logo in the bottom right hand corner of the artwork. Yeah, the stamped ones. Yeah. I. If I can find a stamped one, that would be freaking cool. That would be cool. But I don't know how much those are compared to just a standard format of that. But probably a pretty penny. You know what? Honestly, I wouldn't doubt it. But at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if it's fair. Yeah, but what did you pick for. So I picked a Pokemon. Pokemon that's electric type. And it's kind of. Kind of underrated. I mean, it is and it isn't because it has gotten recently a new mega. So up until recently from. I think it's perfect order. It's. It's been underrated, but I chose. I don't know that I can't see the number. It's too 46 out of 110 neck trike a trick. I chose it because when one, it's a beautiful artwork and I like how it has the bolts in it and whatnot on the side and the contrast between the background and everything. And then the moves are actually pretty interesting, especially if you're thinking of using it for Electric deck because it says plasma. So Star talks. It has 88hp, which isn't bad considering the time era. And then it has plasma, which is search Your discard pile for like electric energy card and attach it to manectric. So every move, every time you do plasma, it takes away 20 from the opponent's Pokemon and adds an energy to your manectric. Okay, so then that helps. I mean that helps in general because you could have either one electric and two colorless or one electric and any other card. So you could have three electric cards and do the move quick blow, which is flip a coin, which I hate the flipping ones, but flip a coin. If heads. This attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage. So it could be a total of its heads of 60 damage. So overall it's not that bad of a card. It's pretty interesting. I like the adding the energies. I've always been into that to help with other attacks. It looks like. I don't know if you can see it, but it looks like that people viewing it. Yeah. But yeah, it's pretty cool looking. Yeah. I mean I'll have the artworks dead center video anyway. But yeah, ironically, as a. As you were talking about Dart, I was also looking at the. The card I picked ironically, I found a stamped version of my card for. Did you really? Yeah, it's $10 Canadian. So it's like. Oh, that's not bad at all. Not bad at all for light play. And it's. It's pretty. I mean, yeah, it's got a little bit of weighting on the back edge, but it's pretty darn crisp. But it's got that awesome stamp. So I mean that's not bad. I should try to. I'll try to look for it as well. Yeah. Now for our Pokedex entry, It's no surprise, Gen 1. I mean, I love my Ghastly Evolution form here. Although I was looking at. What the hell's the pot the thing. Bulbapedia to look at all the Pokedex entries because you can see each entry from different games. And so I picked Gastly only because for the I believe it was red or blue Pokedex entry, it says that it's almost invisible. This gasless Pokemon cloaks the target and puts it to sleep without notice. I didn't freaking know that. I didn't know that Ghastly puts people to sleep. No, no. I think I knew that originally and then I forgot it. But it sounds from. I. I think I remember that. I almost thought. I don't know why I thought Ghastly had a noxious gas. Like it was like. Like a putrid type of gas. But that would be more. That would make more sense for like a Wheezing or a coughing. Yeah, not ghastly. Yeah, but I just. I don't know, I put two and two together. I thought, like, no, gassy's gotta have like some kind of gas that like makes people like, I guess pass out. I mean, kind of makes sense. It makes sense. Yeah. Yeah. That's a weird one. But yeah. What did you pick for your Pokedex entry? All right, for me, I'm just trying to get the actual thing I read earlier because I found a site where Pokemon database, I believe it was, or Bulbapedia, but I use Pokemon database and it literally has entries for every single game made of all their Pokedex entries. So they're all different. I'm gonna choose mine from yellow version because it's the most basic. I mean, they all are similar, but they're worded differently. But the yellow Pokemon. Yellow version, it says the bug host is drained of energy by the mushrooms on its back. They appear to do all the thinking. So basically it's a zombie that has. It basically has that real life thing that ants get called. Oh, gosh, it's in that game, the Last of Us. Oh, yeah, the. The mushroom. Yeah. Parasitic type thing or. Yeah, yeah. So basically it's a mushroom that has that type of parasitic thing. But yeah, that's. I just thought was interesting and I. I related it to that. I remember it's really cool because it, it, it, like I said, it gives you all. The site gives you all the different games, which is crazy. Yeah. How does Bulbapedia just Bulbapedia. I mean, not Bulbapedia. Oh my gosh. Why can't I think of the word Sarabi Give you different ones or just one. Oh, I don't know about Serebi. I never use that one. But yeah, I mean, not Serby. You use buildapedia, right? Yeah, it gives you different ones based on, like, it gives you all the Pokedex entries for each game that it appeared in. Oh, so the same thing. Okay. Yeah, same thing. Because this one, it said the Generations as well. So maybe. I read it might have been the same type of thing that was on the page on Bulbapedia as well. I just didn't realize it. But yeah, that's pretty cool. Yeah. Awesome. I think. I think we chose some interesting first picks for the Pokedex. Yeah. And on that note, that's going to be it for this week's episode. You know, less interesting, I would say, than. Than last week's, but still interesting. I mean, we're starting new, new segments over the next coming months. I'm gonna say months because I'm pretty freaking busy right now. You will see a slight change to the slight format of how the podcast is. You know, you might see an intro, you might see, oh, cool stuff like that. Come, come back. Just as we kind of evolve into the end of this season and move into the next season. Yeah, who knows, I might actually just start next season because again, I am so freaking busy. Seems like no matter what, I turn around and time just keeps zooming past and I'm still not done remotely anything but. Yeah, that's gonna do it for today. Thank you so much, everyone for listening to this podcast and last week's episode. The. The numbers so far are pretty good. Ironically, Jason Page said that he would shout out or tag the. The podcast when it came out if I take them, and he never did. Forgot that. Probably forgot. Yeah, I mean, he, you know, he's probably been too busy singing on stage or something. Cons. Yeah, he's doing a lot of cons nowadays. But I mean, I'm not one to talk about finances or monetary values of what it costs or what it doesn't cost to have guests on the podcast. I will never disclose that information to people other than myself and my co host. Yes, for what we got, I am more than happy with. Oh, yeah, likewise. He took time out of his busy day to speak with us for a half hour and that is something that I will personally cherish for. For quite some time. Yeah. Yeah, you don't get to see that every day. No, you don't. So, again, you know, thank you for him for. For doing that for us. It was greatly appreciated and it was fun. Yeah, it was definitely fun. I mean, there are some very interesting moments. I'm going to be posting some video highlights, I suppose, on Instagram. That's a good idea. Yeah. Specifically because people, I mean, a lot of people are not subscribed to the Patreon because people think, oh, like it's just automatically going to cost me money. You can join for free and still see all the content. The only get. The only plus side to paying the $1 US per month is that you get entered into the giveaways. And now I will be starting the giveaways back up shortly, probably within the next month or so, give or take. There's going to be some interesting giveaways, including a giveaway that I'm prepping currently with a item that I received from my sponsor. So stay tuned for that. But finally, thank you, everyone. Thank you. Next week. Take care, Acast. Powers the world's best podcasts. Here's a show that we recommend. The anti Semitism capital of North America is now Montreal.
