Looks like back to back question of the week as well. We did get a question of the week. So this was actually posed to me privately. And I asked Josh, I said, you mind? This is such a good question. Do you mind if I use it for question of the week? And he was like, absolutely. Question of the week. Let's go. All right, so let me pull up the exact question and it is again from Josh Koslo from the Patreon Facebook group. So Josh asked, as a little side PC or something less intense, do you think it's better to go after potential quote unquote, like Jacob Fatu Gunther or. Or Javon Evans or a goat like Stone cold Steve Austin? Oh, this is a good question. And I struggle with this every week. You know, some weeks I'm like, all right, let's look at the NXT roster and let's see, you know, who's, you know, who's up and coming, who they, who did they just sign, who looks like they could be a monster. And then week after that I'm like, all right, Austin and the Rock and Hogan and Brett Hart and like, just like Legend, you know, Cena, guys like that, that, you know, Roman Reigns, that are just, you know, the Goats. So, yeah, I see it like this. The play is always the Legends because it's always safe. You know, you have to factor in two different things and I'm talking strictly of value. Legends are always safe because they already have an established career. So, yes, there is somewhat of a ceiling on their cards, but at the same time, we've seen ceilings get blown, blown away. I mean, look at the vintage market, which I still don't understand. I never understood how, you know, let's use Willie Mays, for example. Willie Mays's market will fluctuate. He's been passed away, you know, his career is over. And then all of a sudden his cards just start spiking because people want them. Never understood it. So I can't be too, I can't give too much of an educated opinion on it. But I will say it's always safest to go into the Legends because I've had plenty of opportunities, especially doing baseball where I'm buying up Bowman firsts and that prospect doesn't pan out and I'm paying 50, 60, 70 into a hundred dollars for a Bowman first auto and all of a sudden two years from now, it's in my dollar box. So always the goats. But I think your, your best floor to ceiling ratio is buying goats. But cards from their era that they performed that people want to go back to ultimately collect at the end of the day because I think people will take into account pop reports, they'll, you know, take into account that it's, it's really a thing with playing errors, you know, like now I don't want to collect modern Stone Cold Steve Austin because he's not wrestling anymore. So any card that is being printed after this is really like an homage to Stone Cold. And his autos are now more accessible than ever. But what I'd rather a nice modern stone cold auto PSA 10 or his, you know, regular tops rookie PSA 10. I'll take the tops rookie all day long. Yeah, I mean it really comes down to do you want to gamble? You know, if you want to gamble and say, okay, you know, they just signed this guy named Obafemi. He looks like a monster, he's a former athlete. You know, are they going to give him the reins and kind of let him run wild and give him the belt or is he just gonna, you know, being RBs like a Braun Strowman type guy where he kind of plays that, you know, the big, you know, the big talent that doesn't really get the belt. You take a chance, you know, so he gets called up, you buy a couple autos, buy a couple low numbered stuff stashed away. People that did that with Obafemi ended up paying off. Yep. You know, there's also like, you know, I hate kind of, you know, this is the reality of it, but this is the reality of it. There's also the, you know, NXT women side to it of, you know, who looks the best, you know, so there, there are collectors out there that'll say, okay, Solruka has a great look. Tiffany Stratton has a great look. Stephanie Vacaro was a little different because she was kind of established already. You know, taking those two, you know, former athletes free, you know, soul Ruka freak athlete, stunt woman type, you know, athlete. And you know what, I'm gonna buy a couple things, stash them away. I think she has a good look, she's athletic in the ring and I'll see what happens. People that did that, that paid off. But it also definitely goes the other way. I mean there are people that you know, certainly have not panned out or haven't panned out yet that it's up in the air as to what's gonna happen. I thought Kalani Jordan was going to be someone that would have kind of skyrocketed and nothing's really happened with her yet, which doesn't mean it's not going to happen. She can get called up eventually and make the main roster go for a title and that could change. But I thought she would have been there at this point and she just hasn't yet. So it is a gamble to go that route. You know, if you buy stone cold cards or you're buying Roman reigns cards in 10 years, I think those are going to be cards that, you know, probably as long as the market's grown, those cards will have grown with it. Well, and it's funny on top of that too, like you know, here's. And prospecting is where your big reward comes in. You know we talk about high risk, high reward. Our younger brother Michael sent me and Johnny a DM the other day of just some of like Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks where his card value was from then to now. And one example, I mean if you bought this at that time and just held it, his national treasures Emerald rookie patch auto to five and a BGS 95 was bought for in his rookie year. $450. That same card today is selling for $35,000. So if you want the big play and the bigger risk and the bigger reward you prospect but if you want all reliable, can't go wrong, you're not really going to lose as much on your investment. It's not going to plummet. You know, like a bowman first or a rookie situation. You know, you get your legends all day long. And on top of that, you know, second point I actually just posted about this just to kind of support the argument of buying the goats. As of October of last year, Roman Reigns's PSA 10 rookie card was selling for under 200. It was at like 170 and there was even sales at like 130, 140, 150 that same card recently is selling for like 400 plus. There was even a $600 sale. Well, because you're buying the goat and you're buying a card that has a PSA 10 pop report of 149. So buying the goats is also a great investment and it's safe. And that card is never going to go below that 15200 mark again. I doubt it at this point. Probably not. It's getting to that point of like iconic card. Yeah, it's going to turn into that because people are going to go back to Roman Reigns's career when it's all said and done. When this era of modern wrestling fans get nostalgic like the Hulk Hogan, the Ric Flair fans, the Macho man, the Bret Hart fans, the now, even Stone Cold, all those collectors that want to go back to buy their stuff or have their stuff already, that's what they always look to continue to build on this era. Who's going to be their guy? Is it going to be Cena? Is it going to be Orton? Is it going to be Reigns? Is it going to be even someone that's newer now like an Obafemi 20 years from now? So ultimately it doesn't hurt to just, you know, if you're using it as an investment I always recommend buying the Legends and if you really do believe in someone, dive in all in because you don't want to miss the boat. Like if you believed in Obafemi when his card values were low, you should have been buying 3, 4, 5, 10 of his auto cards and just hoping that they boom. Because that's when you really see the reward of it. Not when you buy one card and you bought it for 50 and now all of a sudden it sells for 300. Yeah, like don't, don't buy the. And obviously this is, this is not, I'm not telling you to buy anything. I'm not giving you investment advice. It's. This is just strictly like. Well it's opinion of what we think but it's an opinion on, on this type of thing. But like yeah, if I, if you know, I believe in something like Braun, like Braun Strowman, Brown Breaker or like Obafemi, someone like that, you know, buy the low numbered stuff, buy the, the golds by while you can. The low numbered, you know, anything 50 and less or 25 and less by the autos, by the cases if they're available, that, that's the stuff that's going to appreciate, you know, in this day and age. The, the chrome Rookies or like the base, stuff like that. It's. It's too. There's too much of it. And you're not going to see the return that you would. You would really appreciate on like a refractor or not of like 4.99 or out of 199 or out of 250. It's just. There's too much of it. So if you are going to take that. That leap, you know, do it the right way, at least buy the rare stuff. That too. Yeah. But, yeah, I mean, it can go a million different ways. You know, look at like our little. You know, we mentioned Michael before about the. Talking about the MJF card he bought. Yeah. You know, he bought that MJF Dotted Line Auto from aew, thinking it was the first set. He's going to be the guy. He graded it, you know, whatever. He ended up selling it at the national. And that card really hasn't moved since then. It's gone down and it's. Well, that was the national, what, three years ago? Four. Four years ago. Just about. Yeah, I would say three. So, you know, that was something where it was like, we were actually looking it up recently and he was like, oh, my God, I hope I didn't get killed on that. And he actually did the right thing by selling it at the time that he did. Yeah. The last 210 sold for 8 and 8 10. And I think he got. What was it, a thousand or twelve hundred or twelve hundred, yeah. Which is. And. And talking about current stars, though, for that car to drop 400 in value, it's not the worst. I've. I've seen much worse. But that's a card that could also trick back up to 1100. 1200. All of a sudden he announces he's going to WWE or something, or something pops off, you know, and. But at this point, he's not a rookie or a younger prospect anymore. He's an established star. So buy your established guys and your legends and if you want to get a little frisky, go down the. The prospecting route. So. That was a good question. Thanks for popping that in, Josh. Yeah, thank you, Josh. I appreciate it. And, you know, we'll be continuing that conversation over on Facebook. So again, a little cheap plug if you want to ask questions on the pod. You want to be a part of the conversation. Want to just have random conversations like this, just about, you know, collections and cards and stuff like that. Come over and join the Patreon and. And be a part of the conversation. So that Being said, let's get into this week in wrestling. Cards and, and wrestling and, and all the news. And we'll start it with backlash results. Backlash. So we're not gonna, we're not gonna do a whole like raw smackdown, you know, review. We have a lot to cover this week, so we're just gonna do the back review. I had so many things wrong with the show. I was like, just, whoa. First of all, why the hell did this show start at 6 o'? Clock? I didn't even see it. So I don't know. I had a wedding on Saturday. So it was. What was I gonna say? Where was. The show was in Florida. It was in Tampa. Tampa. Yeah. And I, I want to just confirm this quick. I think it started at like. Yeah, 6pm I turned it on at like 7. Thinking it started at 7. Yeah. And I missed. I missed the Braun Breaker and Seth Rollins match. Yeah. Oh, because they had that on espn. The first two matches were on ESPN or the. And then the rest of the card was on the ESP. I know. But I missed it even on ESPN because I turned it on at 7 o' clock to get it started at 7. Why is a pay per view starting at 6:00'? Clock? Oh, be probably because of UFC. Probably because I don't give a about UFC, brother. It's TKO. Why does my schedule have to go around UFC schedule. If you're tko, do you want WWE competing with their other company that they own? No to back change the date. Can't help you there. Venues booked out probably months ago. The whole show was over by 8:30. Yeah. Because UFC started it. The prelims were on at nine. And honestly, like, made card ten. TKO sucks, man. So, yeah, so didn't see the. And I didn't see the first. The. The first match, which was Trick Trick Williams defeating Sami Zayn to retain the belt. What? That trick missed. That missed Braun defeating Seth. Didn't even go back and watch it because. So I was just annoyed. I turned it on and Danhausen's on. And I was like, oh, okay. Danhausen and the Minihausens defeated the Miz and Kit Wilson. Yep. I think they are doing a little too much with Danhausen right now. I know they're going to, because, you know, he sold all this merch at WrestleMania and he's a huge hit and everything. I. Dan housing's great, but too much of Danhausen. I think you might be in the minority there. I just think that gimmick's gonna get pretty cold pretty quick if you just keep running it out every week. We'll see. EO sky defeated Oscar and what seems like will be Oscar's final match in the wwe. Yeah, I did see that. Is it. Is that official? What's happening with that? So she posted before the show, she posted a somber looking picture on her Instagram looking out of a window with Frank Sinatra My Way playing It's a good song to play. And then at the end of the match, she put over IO the two of them hugged in the middle of the ring. She was crying. I think that's it. I think. I think she's part of that whole TKO cut situation and she wanted to go out on her own terms. They let her have one final match and I think that's it. I think she's going. Gonna go meet up with Kyrie in Japan and we'll see what happens. Yeah, I mean, that was certainly a hell of a run for Mosca too. Especially like, I mean, for the modern era to do the Japanese crossover and successfully do it opened up a gateway for a lot of wrestlers to come in. So I mean, bravo to Oscar and the career she's had so far. Oh, yeah. I mean, she also is like. I mean, there, there are people that know more about this than we do, but she was probably like the first like Japanese import to come over to wwe, like modern wise. And I think you're right. I think it opened it up. You know, people then going back and watching, you know, getting more into Japanese wrestling and then learning about, you know, Iosharai and then eventually, you know, Julia comes over. I, I think everything kind of obviously stems from Oscar coming here, obviously having that crazy NXT run. That's probably where you saw her first. Yeah, certainly. So I think that NXT run will go down as like, you know, legendary. And she had a great run wwe. So who knows, maybe we'll see her back here one day. In pro wrestling. Never say never. But seems like that's it for now. The only one to be happy that she retired was Bill Goldberg. I think he's still a little salty about his streak. Bill Goldberg, Jesus. So then John Cena came out and announced. Yeah, classic. Did you see anything about this? I just read it after the fact and I still, I think WWE doesn't really quite know what they're doing with this yet. They just seemed like it was thrown together pretty fast. So it's like, I'm sure someone's gonna correct me if I'm wrong. I thought it was a tournament to win matches, but the fans vote on you to for like popularity and they come up with something to. And they, they hand pick the champion. The fan picks the champion regardless of who wins. Yeah, I don't know what, how that works, but like I said. Okay. And then the finals of the, of the Roman of the John Cena Classic. We have Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns destroys him. The fans vote for Seth and they give him the. The trophy. Like, right. How do you expect a healed ever when no one's gonna vote for the heel, right? Or is like, do they vote for anything? I think it's going to be some sort of. Do they wrestle and then they stand in the middle of the ring and then like the crowd is like, well, okay, we want. It's still to be determined. I guess it's not official yet. Dude, like the whole John Cena thing, the, the one final year, the last time is now the whole retirement thing. I was fine with it. Been on on TV more since he's retired. Go away. You wanted to retire. Just go away. I don't need to see you every show. He's an ambassador now. Make a wish guy again. Like, I take it you're not a big Cena guy. I like Cena, but he's becoming like the. And then he like. And it's time for the man. What is he? Mark Henry over on aew announcing the main Event. Every week it's time for the main event. And the main event. Speaking of the main event, Roman retained. Yep. Over which. That's another thing I saw. People were pissed about that solo that. I'm sorry, Jacob Fatu didn't sell the finish and like he got pins from a spear. He lost. And he got up before Roman and just started annihilating him again. So. I don't know, we'll see what happens on RAW tonight, you know, and see what the, the aftermath is. But, yeah, I didn't, I didn't watch anything wrestling really. I was, I was so busy this week. I have a lot to catch up on. Well, I don't know if I missed much, but it doesn't need for you to, I guess, figure out. I gotta get back on the AW train. Oh, yeah, me too. Actually, I kind of fell off a little bit. Yeah. Although I had, I heard there was a cluster of their own with story lines that people were upset about something with Will Osprey's like, training with the Death Riders. Like, they didn't really explain why he did that. That he just did. Yeah, he's been like showing up to their workouts and he's all, he's all sad, but they didn't explain why he, he's doing it. I don't know. I just, I was, I was reading the sheets and just reading what fans were saying about it, so. But, you know, we'll carry on right now. Well, it sounds like it. Yeah, but not the world of records. It's not it. Cards are not. Yeah, because out on this past Friday, Top Storm Sapphire was released via EQL on TOPS website. For 350 a box. You do get one guaranteed auto per box. You guys pick up anything? I know we're going to talk about this in car corner, but you get. No, I put in for the EQL and once again did not win. But I will not be salty about it because again, I think it's fair to do eql. That's the right way. If I lose, I lose. If I win, I win. But I can't, I can't fault like a bot beating me or like me having to check out my cart 5 million times and then all of a sudden it says sold out. So what's the difference? No, it's just. Look, because it's in, it's infuriating when you have it in your cart. You were chosen to get a box and the TOPS website won't let you check out this. Like, I just Wasn't accept. Okay. So I move on. Like it is what it is. I'll get into breaks and I'll do different things, so no big deal. I just get annoyed when I'm competing against a million other bots and people and breakers and you know, I actually do get a box in my cart and I can't check out. I'd rather just take an L. I mean, I, I almost don't like the EQL because it's like shadier. Like, oh, you didn't win. Sorry. Why? Because backyard breaks got 15 cases. Well, I mean like, I'll never know. Yeah, whatever happened to just like, hey, it goes on and sell 12 o'. Clock. Everybody goes on at 12 o' clock and tries to get it. You have to have a fanatics password or whatever to log in in order to buy it. Clearly you haven't been on the TOPS website to try to buy a box and I don't know how long because it's absolutely miserable. It really is. I'm sorry. It's like, you know, it's like, it's like the Mets winning all game and then they blow it in the 9th and you have to watch extra innings and you see them fight and fight and fight and it's inning by inning and then they just blow it and lose anyway. I'd rather just lose. 4 Nothing. I anticipated the loss. It is what it is. We move on to the next day. I just don't, I don't know. I, I understand A, A release like this is going to be limited. They're not printing a ton of Sapphire. So for you to not get eql. I understand that. Okay, but like they printed so much chrome. How is that possible? I don't know. Like I heard today, top series 2 baseball went on sale via EQL and sold out in one second. How is that possible? It's the flagship product. There should be enough boxes where people are turning it down. You, you have to. Well, my guess would be because there's so many produced that they only have allotted a certain amount of boxes that they're going to sell in house for Top. No, it's because they're allowing, You know, the breaker to go on and buy 10 cases of it and he's probably got 15 of his cronies doing the same thing. Yeah, that too. I'm sure it's a combination of both. I, I just, I don't name the game. Now again, I understand a limited release like Sapphire, not everybody's gonna be able to get their Hands on it. I'm fine with that. But a flagship product should sit on the website and be available for everybody who wants it. If you're printing that much of it, what good is it for the collector? And I get it. Tops is making their money, so they don't give a how they're getting it. Right. But you got Tops Chrome, where I, if I wanted a box at their price, I couldn't get it. But I could walk into any lcs right now anywhere in the country and there's going to be cases of that sitting in their shot. Yep. I know that, that, that's a number of problems. That's the, the shop owners being greedy and raising the prices on this stuff. You know, that's, you know, the breakers breaking it way too much. They're breaking it every single night. Case, you know, cases at a time. Well, then you've got breakers doing 3, 5, 10, 20 case breaks. It's just like, just stop selling to individuals now. That's, that's what, that's what should just happen. Sell to the breakers and sell to the shops and people like us don't sell to. Don't sell. Normal people or would you be opposed to. What if, like targets Walmarts? What if they started getting hobby boxes? I mean, I'd be fine with that because at least it gives everybody a fair chance. If I want to go camp out at a Walmart or a Target and I want to get my product, that's on me. Well, that's like, I mean, trolling more of my feet. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not involved in the market. Does Pokemon sell their cards and their boxes direct? No. So everything goes through retail? Yeah. Yes, yes. They have like their Pokemon centers that you can go to. And I, I don't know if they do releases online. They might, but. Because then that would be Tops adopting the, the right. You have to go to Target, Walmart, the game stores. That's where you get your Pokemon. Yep. Yeah. Well, I'm sure Tops internally, I mean, they're not dumb. They know what they're doing. I mean, they're a multi, multi, if not billion dollar company at this point. So it's just, it just sucks now because I feel like the breakers have kind of like. So this is an issue that kind of took place and we can move on after this. Quick. I just need to get this off my chest. This is a place, this is a, this is an issue that took place probably like 10 years ago or so. I remember speaking with Someone that we used to buy cards from, he doesn't have a brick and mortar. So he was never able to open to open up a direct account with Tops, Upper deck, Panini, etc, he would have to then go through someone that did have a brick and mortar, right, and buy from him. So the problem is like, I couldn't get opened up directly from Tops because I didn't have a brick and mortar. I don't have a store. I can't just go buy, you know, 10 cases from them directly. Right? Because the assumption is I'm reselling it. But, you know, now slap my name on whatnot and all of a sudden that's okay, well, I'm breaking out of my house. I'm, I'm, you know, well, timeout. That, that's not true either because, for example, like Medina and Medina could hit us up if we're wrong about this. He doesn't get allocation. No, he's got to go, right? But he's a big whatnot breaker. Forget whatever plans you have this weekend because you're staying at home and playing on spinquest. And there's never been a better time to sign up than right now. But you can't say that all breakers get allocation, then. They don't. No, not all breakers do. Okay, but there are. Clearly. There are breakers that are. Yeah, of course. Because. But that wasn't. To me, that wasn't an issue 10 years ago. Breaking wasn't a thing. Right. So there was more allocation of products for normal people that just wanted to rip one or two boxes. Right. They weren't competing with, you know, joe breaker buying five cases or 10 cases of this to sit on whatnot every night. Yeah. Those also the days of $50 hobby boxes. Yeah. And those days are over. I get it. The market grew and everything else grew, and it just is what it is. We're never going to go back to that. But in terms of allocation, you know, maybe. I don't know, maybe a new model could be like separate. Separate drops for separate. You know, if you're a breaker or a shop owner, you get your. Your release date and your release time is this. If you're a regular person, your release time is this. I don't know how they can control that and police that, because then again, if I'm a shop owner, I tell my employee, oh, you got a TOPS account? Go ahead. Yeah, you can never. You can never police it. It'll never be valid. So, I mean, it's unfortunate, but it's. It's true. It's just like, you've rolled over and, like, taken this, like, defeat of, like, what else am I gonna do? No, I know. It's ridiculous. You're a collector who wants to rip one box, and you can't even do that. I know. Like, you don't find a problem with this. A major problem, yes, but it'll never get stopped. Look at. Look at. If it's just. It's. That's big business. Look at tko. They're cutting people's rosters where they're. I'm sorry. They're cutting people's salaries when they've had some of their most profitable years ever, and the whole executive team decides to give themselves. We're going to give ourselves a raise from making $15 million in the calendar year to 40 tops, is doing the same thing. They're saying, all right, well, we don't give a. The money's rolling in from the breakers. But you know what? If we got to cut out a couple random people out there to get their box to open for themselves, well, so be it, right? If they may. If they make 500 cases of something and all 500 sell. They don't care who. They don't give a. Who's ripping it. They just say they have 500 cases. So it's, it's not going to change. And I've accepted it like it just. Unless everyone just stops buying products, which we know is not going to happen. That's the only way things get fixed. So then don't go to your little industry conference and say that you're, you know, bringing things back to the collector. Well, in a room. In a room filled with shop owners and breakers. Breakers and influencers. Right. That's who you're talking to. How about you invite a hundred random collectors that have been collecting for this for years. Let them come down to the conference. Let them speak their mind and let them talk to you and give you feedback from our standpoint. Yeah. And. And not talk about the guy who has 20 million followers on YouTube. I don't give a. What he thinks. Well, they're all gonna, you know, they're all gonna push their own agendas and they're all gonna shill Tops because they're there. Right. You're not gonna go, you're not gonna go to the TOPS industry conference and be like, oh, I think tops is a problem when you're, when you need allocation from them and you need them to promote you and you want to get all the, you know, the perks. Right. But I also don't want to hear like, all right, you know, our main focus this year is we're gonna bring things back down to the collector. But prices haven't gone down and we still can't get our hands on product. Well, and, and we know they've been full of. About a lot of things because I thought they were banning redemptions. There's redemptions in every product still. Y. What happened with that? It. But again, it's, it's not until numbers tank and the market falls. Nothing is going to happen. Nothing. Talk about 10xing the hobby in 10 years. Yeah. How about you? 10x me. I think I meant 10xing the product. Yeah. Not 10xing the market and 10xing, you know, the, the, the popularity. Yeah. It just. There are rumors that, you know, I'm gonna. I just want. We can move on after this. But what we're doing, that Topps Chrome Baseball is going to be over a thousand dollars a box. From. From Tops. Yeah. Jeez. That don't work. How is that helping the hobby? Well, that's, that's a question. We're not Going to get answers to. Unfortunately, yeah, nothing's out yet. But yeah, I did, I did see that rumor. I was listening to a podcast. Well, I bet you, you know what hurts, which, I mean, you can't even put two and two together on this. But what was Tops Chrome basketball and what was Tops grown football selling for this year? Right. They were probably selling out at a thousand bucks. And now Tops is saying, wait, wait a sec. These are selling out at a thousand bucks and we can't get, you know. Well, no, the problem is baseball to get up there. The LCS is selling it for a thousand for a hobby. And they were msrping it at 400 or 500. Well then they're just tired of leaving money on the table. That's. Yep, sounds about right. Because at the end of the day, like when does the, when, where does it stop for the LCS, you know? Right. So like you get a 500 box, they make the price 850 or 900, they're making 400 a box. But if the price starts at 900, are they really gonna make it 13? Right. Who's gonna buy that? So I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what the. How to fix it. But I just think it's a big problem that you're one person who wants to rip one box of sapphire. And you couldn't at msrp, but they'll sell cases of this stuff at a clip to other people. It's just. Yeah, I just have. I have a bad taste in my mouth about it. It's not right. Well, so put in your application for the Tops industry summit next year. Hopefully they accept and then give your two cents. That's the only way to get things done too. Gotta stand for the people. But they also don't care because I don't break on Fanatics Live and I don't have 10, 000 followers. So my opinion doesn't mean anything. I just, you know, spend money on this every single day. And I, and I think, you know, we talk about every week and well tell the people that leave us five star reviews and maybe we'll get that opportunity to get in front of them one day. Keep making those tick tocks. You got it. There's some new Tops now. Yeah, Tops Now. Yep. So backlash. Backlash has seen some tops now of releases including Bron Breaker, Danhausen, EO sky and Oscar and Roman Reigns. Those are on sale now. Not sure when they expire, but we'll probably be this week by the time you Hear this. So, yep. And I wanted to do some more royalty sales because we did talk about royalty last week and there wasn't a lot of sales to kind of go on in terms of a top five. But it has been updated and there has been a very large sale that just finished up about half an hour ago. So now we can confirm this, the sale as the number one sale so far in tops royalty. So we'll start off with number five, which is a car we talked about last week, the Tiffany Stratton Liquid Silver at 2500. At number four is the Stephanie Vicar Liquid Silver Case hit at 2500. Number three, Lola Vice Triumph Relic Signatures Auto Card one of one sold for $2,605. At two, the Tiffany Stratton Liquid Silver. Liquid Silver. The Gold one of one sold for $10,000 like we spoke about last week. And the new number one confirmed sale on ebay just wrapped up about again like a half an hour ago. The Randy orton WrestleMania Patch Auto 1 of 1 sold for $42,100. My goodness. Now. And it was paid because it's on card ladder. Yep, it was just updated. Jesus. So where do I want to turn my thoughts to with this? I mean huge for the wrestling hobby. Because now a lot of people are going to be talking about this, which is always a good thing. Darren Ravel's already tweeting about it. You're gonna see big name influencers already. Of course. Yeah, I'm sure you're probably gonna hear something from like Jeremy Padauer and a bunch of people. Well, listen, hey, a forty to fifty thousand dollar sale in the wrestling space doesn't happen every day. Now, in the final seconds of the auction, the price did jump from 27, 000 to 42 within like 2 seconds or 3 seconds. I think that's also fascinating. I would love to see the bidding history if it was multiple people going at this. Or you could pull it up. Yeah, you could just click the bids. Right. I want to see how that. I'd love to see how that just jumped. But honestly, I think it's great for the hobby that we're experiencing sales like this in wrestling cards. It proves that you can do high end releases. We could get a mix of everything. You know, I still think no matter what, every sport, including wrestling, needs to have their staple releases, your high end stuff and then your affordable stuff, keep it nice and balanced for all types of collectors to be involved. And you know, Panini proved WWE can be a premium product and it could sell very well. And I think Topps took note of that because if you look at tops, you know, history from 2010, you know, 2021, when they lost the license, the only high end they were doing was undisputed. They weren't doing anything else. Now you can so really happy to see this. Congratulations to the seller and the buyer. And now I want to see what that John Cena sells for because I gotta imagine it's gonna beat that. Hold on. Oh, what conspiracy theory are you about to. No, this is. This is. This is crazy. So you know who the $27,000 bid was? Who? Cat Carl Anthony Town, who said that he has an Instagram account. Big bodega cards. Yeah, he posted on his story. I thought I had this one in the bag. I need to know who snuck in at the buzzer. Show yourself. Whoa. And it was the auction for the Randy Orton card. Wow. So he had that bid that I guess he got sniped. Someone sniped him and then he did a hard post. This has me. This has a sick thought. It was ours for the taking until a last minute nuclear bid snuck in. Who has the car now? We need to know. So Carl Anthony Towns of the bet the hottest basketball team in the world, the New York Knicks. Thought he had the Randy Orton. I mean, that's crazy. Yeah. Incredible. That's so it makes the story more fun. It makes it. You know, again, this is. It's going to shine a light on wrestling cards. I think it's. It's great. Wow. What a time. Wow. Final thoughts. What do you think about this Wharton sale? I don't think you gave your opinion. Because I see it like this. I think the price. Does it sound ridiculous? Yes. But at the same time, like Junior Common Arrows, same thing sold for around the same price. Right. Junior Common Arrow is not considered a legend of his sport and he's not considered top 10 in his sport of all time. Randy Orton is. So like the price sounds outlandish, but in that comparison it doesn't. Maybe it was an undersell. I don't know. I mean, truthfully, when I saw the price, I wasn't shocked, which I don't know what that says, but. And to be honest, I don't think anyone should be for this particular. For these particular cards. They should be running them all at auction because might be leaving on the table. I mean, when I sold my rock, that was the biggest conflict I had was am I gonna leave money on the table? And. But I feel like with the patches like these are just so desirable because it was used in an event and inscribed and signed and all that. That it really makes him so unique and special. Randy is just an interesting name because he historically hasn't sold for what he probably should have. Should or should have. He's valuable in the hobby, one of the greatest ever. And he doesn't. You know, he's definitely undervalued, you know, so again, it poses the question like, you know, what are some of the better hobby names go for? You know, now that this sold for about, you know, for 42, 000, but in terms of the number, I don't think I was surprised. I figured this is for a name like this. This is probably where it would be. Yep. You know, again, like, also knowing, like you and I know that there are names in baseball of guys that we've never even seen play or heard of that sell in the five figures. Yeah. You know, so for Randy Orton, who's been. Who has one of the. Has one of the best modern careers of all time. No, Johnny muted himself. You're muted. There you go. So when there are pitchers or there are guys that we don't. We've never even heard of in the minor leagues, they'll sell for 10 or 12 or 15,000. You know, maybe it wasn't undersell. We kind of have to see where the. Where the rest of these fall to really determine that, but can't wait to see who ends up with it, though. You know, I'm sure there's a couple people that I know that we're probably going for it. I didn't know Cat was one of them, so, you know, it's funny so. Well, because me and you know the truth. So I think I'm just going through Twitter to see the reactions of this. Who was the account? Oh, stacking slabs said this is the second highest modern wrestling card sale of all time behind me. Rock one of one prism. I can confirm it's third. Well, I. I still hold number two there for the good people out there. Yeah, you're right. Thank you. Well, I mean, we're. We're an official resource. The card. Yeah. Card foundation podcast. We're a news podcast. We had to come up with the accurate news. Why are you. Are you also quiet? A.J. ewing's got you stunned right now with. I don't even know why I care anymore. He was raking in Triple A. Yeah, he's. He's. If he doesn't start his career over. Over 20, I'll be shocked. Only one way to find out anyway. Yeah, so that's some really big hobby news that has hit and we'll see where the next one, the next couple land. I don't believe. I don't know if there's any that are on ebay right now. I don't think so. But we. I did see there are a couple more have been pulled. I saw the Seth Rollins was pulled and that was a redemption. And I saw the Lyra Valkyria was pulled. Yep. So. Yep. They're starting to. We're starting to weed down to the. To the nitty gritty of who needs to get pulled still. Do you ever think you'd be competing against. Potentially competing against Carl Anthony Towns for a card of Tiffany Stratton? What if he. What if he decides like I gotta go for one? That'd be cool as imagine it's you and him. That's a battle I'm gonna lose. I mean he made 2,300 million in his NBA career. Maybe more. So. Yeah, I'm not winning that battle. Yep. All right, what else? I think we're just up to purchases. All right. I. I didn't buy anything this week. I just beginning the breaks and I skunked a few. So. You got anything? The only thing I bought wrestling related was a Julia tops chrome true gold. Oh yeah. I wasn't expecting you to say that. Yeah. I think I'm done with Julia though. For chrome wise, I got the auto. The refractor. I got the. The gold refractor. Yep. Moving on now. Over. Under 100 for that. Yeah. Under, yeah. By a lot. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. I think people are sleeping on true golds. I do too. Especially the modern ones. We're gonna look back in 20 years and they're all going to be up. Everybody loves gold. It's just different. Like obviously, you know, I would, I would love for them to be, you know, numbered the way panini was because it makes it even more rare. But. Right. Well then you're also paying a prettier penny. Yeah. And I think to me like people talk about 50 copies as not really being rare and I would tend to agree with that. It's not like super rare or anything but for me I think that's like a. A ballpark I like to play in like for tops. Like tops wise. Like I don't. I'm not. Not really a big orange like to 25 and orange never really did anything to me. No. I'm probably never going to be in the. For the names that I like. I don't think I'll ever be in like the black to 10 or like the red to fives. So I think the gold to 50 is like a nice kind of ballpark to park to play in. And I know gold is popular, so like. Right. That's something that I know will probably appreciate. So. Yeah. Right. All right, well, our Patreon members are always buying, ripping in a tearing. So let's start it up with our Patreon purchases and Tim French. While everyone was focused on Chrome and Royalty breaks, I had a giant week on whatnot buys. Liv Morgan, WWE NXT Rookie out of 25. PSA 7. Rip Baker Spectrum Matt Relic out of 25. Alexa Bliss Gold Tops Chrome Cactus Shack WrestleMania Pete Done Flawless. FOTL Patch Order to 8. Jon Moxley Spectrum Patch Auto to 10. Julius Creed 2024 Prism True Gold. And last but certainly not least, Penta Tops Chrome, Cactus Jack auto number to five. That's a very nice week 10. A lot of nice cards there, David Lloyd. We have a Switchblade Jay white out of 8 and a Jack Perry out of 13. Great heartwarming story in the hobby. I saw these on Comp C, mentioned them on SCR example as why he wanted to get those. The dude who owned them is from the uk. Listen to the pod. Direct messaged via Card tricks Community. He shipped them over and I purchased them from him. Bosh. Yes, I have the pink and greens for Jay Jack and Satnam now. Huh. He loves Tottenham. Former Dallas Maverick Rate for a little while. And that was from Skybox. I forget which product that insert came out of. Was it Metal Universe? Yeah, yeah, Metal Universe. It's nice to see good things in the hobby sometimes, you know, it's heartwarming. It's. There are still people out there that still care that, you know, collectors that want them. Right. 100 Dave Nagel got a hanger retro red PMG. Megan Bain missed from Allure. Hit two Julia Gold logo fractures and breaks and traded one to Danny Dirt Sheets for Julia True Gold. Yep. I did did help out the good brother. Brian Lines gold out of 50. Ms. Marks, a champions Auto from Chrome. Love the upside down title image. I couldn't agree more. Brian WrestleMania Cactus Shack Gold wave to 50. Kyrie Sane which was a break giveaway and merger or mega hits from a logo fractor break 2.2green x pack and a Fallon Henley. I think I need our group to use better punctuation on these posts so I could read them better on air. Sorry to single you out, Brian. I single out everyone. Let's clean it up. Tim Jacob Royalty didn't treat me as badly as I was expecting, especially since two of my cards were SSP acetates. Managed to pull two of the crowning achievements and one of the Battle Royal Decree acetates and both are of Shinsuke Nakamura. And last but not least, nice nice banger to end with Danny Medina. This beauty popped up on ebay and when I saw it, I did not hesitate added the logo fracture Rose Gold one of one for AJ Lee to the PC. What do you think of the Rose Gold one of one? I think it's wrong to do I don't like doesn't look like a one of one, right? It's got it should have been gold vinyl. Gold vinyl super fractor finite like those are like that's the one of ones Pappardasha. I'll even. I'll even give you Pappardasha because it's at this point it's now a hobby stable. I disagree. I I don't like it. I'm not crazy about it either, but it's established. Yeah, Rose gold. Hey, I mean it's something different. They tried it because this is not common for, I believe, other products and releases. So yeah, it would have been cool if it was gold vinyl. But hey, one of one's a 101, so. And there are gold vinyl refractors in this set. We'll talk about it again when we speak about Sapphire in the next segment, which is Card Corner. Coming up right after this. So again this week we are going to talk about the breakdown of 2026 tops Chrome Sapphire, a set that came out last week, last Friday, on May 8th. Last week, if you didn't tune in, Danny wanted to talk about some breaking etiquette and some breaking stuff that he's been thinking about. So we made this segment this week instead. So again, if you're new to the show, we always break down the newest sets. We talk about all the different details of the sets, the parallels and all that stuff. So just want to make sure we got that to you for the Sapphire. So here we go. You're gonna get four cards per pack, eight packs per box, 201 card set, and each box is going to guarantee one auto. Parallels for the base set include yellow to 75, gold to 50, orange to 25, black to 10, red to 5, and the Pappardasho one of one. New for this year are Sapphire inserts which include Sapphire selections 1 in every 143 packs. Those also have parallels orange to 25, red to 5, and the super fracture 1 of 1, and the infinite Sapphire which is 1 in every 471 packs. No parallels to that, just a straight up Infinite insert. The Auto parallels include black to 10, red to 5, and the Paber Dash in one of one. There are also nine other insert sets to add to the base set for the Autos. Those include the 86 tops autos, the hall of Fame Autos, Future Stars Autos, the Red and Blue Brand Autos, NXT Autos, Legendary Chrome Signatures, Main Event Autos and Marks of Champions. So it's basically Tops Chrome but a little bit of a different finish. So what do you think? Are you buying or passing? I'm excited to actually add some cards to the collection, especially to try to get the Infinite Sapphire. I'm a sucker for Case it, so if I could get my hands on some of those, I will. Sapphire selections too I think are beautiful and I do want to add those as well. So glad to see that Sapphire is much more improved this year. I'm glad that there's a Bunch of autos that are also mixed in, including the subsets. So that's also really nice to see. I think overall it's going to be actually a nice product and what Sapphire should be just as it is for baseball and other products. So, you know, as long as the quality is good, I'm. I'm on board. Okay. Whoa. Feedback. No, I, I've never, I'm not the biggest Sapphire guy. I never really have been. I. They look nice. It's cool. I love the inserts this year, the Sapphire selections and the Infinite. I'm glad that they decided to add those because they are, you know, staples within the Sapphire family and the Sapphire world and other sports. We've, we've had them and, and I know they do very well. They're very popular. So I'm glad that, you know, this year set doesn't seem as rushed as it did last year. They really just tried to, you know, throw it together last year and there were no, the auto checklist was horrible. There were no inserts. It was just like super rushed. This year they really took their time. They added, you know, the auto, different autos. They have the inserts now, you know, 201 card checklist. So they kind of trim some of the fat. So, yeah, I think it's got its place. I don't know. I, I know it's not a popular hobby opinion, but if you were to ask me, like, if you were to take, say take. Let me just see, like a parallel that goes to all of them. I did have a question regarding parallels for you. Okay. Do you think the Sapphire line is just an extra parallel to the regular Tops chrome? That's a, that's a very popular hobby question. Or because they. The boxes are more expensive and are short and the cases are short printed because again, there's a smaller print run on what they're releasing, that it should be treated as a higher end product. It's its own set. Okay, so you're not counting this as an extension of. No. Okay. I never have. Sapphire is its own set. It's got its own parallels, it's got its own autos, it's got its own base finish. Look, if like, the difference is like logo fracture is Tops Chrome, but like a little subset of it, this is its own. The base doesn't look the same as the base chrome. Yeah. So it's all. So it's a different set. Okay. But in my opinion, and I know a lot, some other people don't think this way, but I'll take that the gold to 50 in my hierarchy, I have the true. Gold is number one. I have geometric as two, and then I have sapphire. Gold is three. Okay, wow. So you, you have geometric over sapphire. I do. I don't, I think that the sapphire is much more nicer than I like the geometric. No, it's, I, I, I honestly think that geometrics don't get a lot of love. Yeah. I think people, I mean, obviously the true colors are always going to demand more. Right. Number one, especially for the traditionalist. But I mean, sometimes it's usually a big drop off between the, the true and the, the orange wave, the orange shimmer, the this, the that. It's funny too, because those, my opinion, those refractors and those parallels are harder to hit because they're not in hobby. Yeah. It's a, it's in a more expensive set that's a lot more limited. Right. You know, in a box of Breakers Delight, what are you getting, 10 cards? Yeah. Or, yeah, eight to 10. So you know, to get a gold is not even guaranteed in a, in a box or in a case or whatever. You may get an orange or a black, whatever, but you may not even get a gold versus opening a hobby. You're gonna get a couple of them. Right. You know, whether it's true gold or, you know, whatever. Because there's just so many parallels in that set. Right. So that's why I always had Jim. I always thought geometric was kind of underrated. Okay. But yeah, I mean, you know, sapphire is fine. I think it's got its, its place. What do you think of the price point? I actually thought it's fine. Look, I mean, if it's supposed to be treated a little more elevated than regular chrome, then you know what? It's going to carry a little bit more of a premium. So, I mean, I, I was expecting that Sapphire is always more expensive than regular. So what do you usually get, like two numbered cards? I can't remember because I haven't ripped a box of Sapphire. I never ripped a regular box of Sapphire. WWE Yeah, I mean, that's baseball back in the day. And I want to say I got three, four numbered cards a box. I don't know if there, I don't know if there was anything guaranteed. No auto guarantee. But about three, four numbered cards. No, I'm saying this year. So, like for wrestling. Well, it has the one auto a box. Right. But I would have liked to have seen like maybe two guaranteed parallels on top of it. You are probably getting that. Yeah, you probably are getting that. But you may not. It's not guaranteed. I mean, did you check I. It didn't say anything in the checklist. See if we could usually on when I, you know, full disclosure, we. I use Beckett now and they didn't have any. That gives you the full, like, allocation stuff. What do I use? No, what's that one site that gives you the full allocation and like the spreadsheet and everything? Gts. Yeah. You do know. Is it. Is it gts? GTS Distribution? Yeah, I don't use them. No. But you know who they are. I. I've heard of them. Yeah. I've never gone on their own. I don't use the wipe website used to send me the links. Like, could have swore they have like, the full breakdown of like, even parallels and stuff that you're supposed to get in the box. Like the odds and stuff. Yeah, yeah. I haven't thought. Even thought to check there. I thought you used to. No, I used to use. What was that site? Cardboard Connection. Yeah. Then they went, damn, rip Cardboard Connection. That was the goat. They were great. They were great. And I think they had like a. Something with the owner. Like the owner wanted to take it back or like, I don't know, he like someone. That whole situation up. That was a great site. It was. Yeah. I could only download the checklist. It's not saying on Tops's site if it's guaranteed or not. And it doesn't matter. No image of the box. Well, even sometimes Steel City will. Will also post. Let's see if they have theirs. Yeah. Just to kind of tie it up, you know, I am interested, interested to see what some of these infinite inserts sell for and some of these Sapphire selections sell for. So maybe next week, after the product has been in hand for. It'll be over a week. At that point, we'll kind of dive into the car ladder data and discuss some of the sales for this, because I'd like to see. And maybe there's something you could do because you've been very. Research and data. All right, so here's the deal. There is four cards per pack, eight packs per box, 10 boxes per case. The yellow is one in every six packs, and a gold is one in every eight packs. So you should. Should get two numbered cards per box. There you go. If you hit an orange, it's one of 16, black to 10, one of 40, red to 5, one of 80, and the one of one papa one of every 3.99. Sapphire selections is also one in every 400, 143 packs. Infinite sapphires. One in every 471 packs. So you're probably getting two to three numbered cards on your auto per box. Okay. So. All right. And again, probably. Who knows? It's not guaranteed on the box though. Right. But, you know, I'm always excited for Sapphire. I'll be diving into breaks just to test my luck and see where it goes. And maybe for a little, you know, a little research project. I know you're big into, you know, numbers and data lately. Maybe next week we could put together, like, a comparison of Sapphire selections across the. Across the grid, across sports. Yeah. See what, you know, baseball, F1. We could do WWE, we could do, you know, Marvel or whatever. Like, everyone's had them at this point. Yeah. So, you know, we'll kind of see, like, where WWE falls in the. In the grand scheme of things. It's the first year of it and I think it's a big, you know, it's a big card, so. Well, and if. I just want everyone to know on social media, if you. If you decide to post that this is not a bad buy at 800 a box, I'm coming for your throat. Yeah, probably. I mean, I would. It's all in the eye of the beholder, you know, I'm just kidding. I. You hit the Julia Papardasha. Yeah. 800. That's a great box. But when you got Danny Cold Hands opening, that ain't existing. Losing money. Yep. So. Yeah, but that'll. That'll wrap it up. I think for once, for the first time in a month, we don't have a new release coming out this week. Yep. So give us some time to digest some of the releases that we've been getting, talk more about that, talk more about what's been going on. Wrestling. Daniel, take the week to catch up and we'll recap Sapphire when it's in hands. Yep, we're gonna recap Sapphire. We're gonna talk more about, you know, royal. I. I want to dive back into royalty a little bit, you know, maybe, you know, talk about that. Just, I feel like everything's been, you know, really rushed. We also haven't spoken about Upper deck in a while. So I know we have a release coming in about a month, I think. Flagship comes out, I want to say, the middle of June, so we could start talking about that and what they've been doing. So, yeah, there's plenty going on. And we'll continue on next week for episode 275. All right. When it comes to wrestling, cards are the best there is, the best there was, and the best ever will be. Oh, hell yeah.
