Before we jump into today's episode, quick shout out to our sponsor, ebay live. If you think ebay is just a marketplace, you're missing a whole side of it. Ebay live is where real time excitement meets rare, exclusive, hard to find cards and collectibles. You can watch live auctions, catch exclusive drops, and buy directly from trusted and quite frankly, the best sellers like myself. Well, it's all happening. It feels like a show. Not just shopping with great hosts, the aforementioned me creators and streamers. Plus everything's backed by ebay's protections and authenticity again, guarantees. To check it out, download the ebay app, tap the ebay live button right under the search bar. Make sure you follow. Obviously, sports cards, nonsense. Let's get back to your show. This is what everyone's talking about. Everything's on the table. This is what champions come to take. This is what everyone came to see. And the slam. No do overs, no second chances. No more Mr. Nice Guy. This is Winner Take All. The NBA Finals continue on ABC and the ESPN app. Both like you have the questions like, hey, but what about this? And then he can insult us both. Well, he won't insult him. Hello? There's no snare in my headphone. You know what? That's from the oneers. Today's gonna be a train wreck, folks. We're two hours early, we're 17 minutes late, and Gary V. Is coming. Everything you just said was accurate. I'll tell you right now. Gary V. Pulls that little stunt of showing up late. Is he coming in the studio? What's this? What's this bull crap zoom stuff? Just come in the studio. Well, he's in New York. I think that's a problem. Oh, it sucks he doesn't own his own plane. Oh, wait, I don't. I wonder if he does own his own plane. You would think. I mean, he's got a lot of money, right? We should ask him how much he made last year. Okay, I want to know that. And how is he flying? Are you just like chartering a flight, like a private or do you own. I wonder where the last time he flew anything but first class or private would be. There's no way he's flying first class. You don't think me and you fly first class? What else is the other option? Private? I'm saying I think he's only flying private. Hmm. I don't know. I feel like I've seen movie stars and stuff riding on first class. Cuz I have a lot of money. He has a lot of money. All Right. Gary Vee is gonna come here. He's gonna try to come on here and talk a lot about v friends. I want to question him about the Knicks. I think he runs it in very well. I think he knows that this is not the place to talk a to about be friends, though we will talk about it. It will probably be much more Nick suck. I want to know specifically. Let's do this quick. Let's do our interview prep real fast. Okay. I want to know about the Knicks. I have a Rushmore question for him because those are the viral things that are cute. And I would also I want him to expound on the winter is coming quote he had at the industry conference for the hobby. Say, hey, at some point, the winter. Winter is coming. I want to know what that looks like in his mind and how we prepare for it. And I'll stay out of your way. You guys can nerd out about ribbity Raccoon. And I actually have a couple questions. Just more jumping this jack rabbit. Do you notice that you wait until I speak to talk? My timing is good because you do the breaths. You know, you're very calculated. Yes, I like to think out my thoughts and then I say them. But that being said, now I'm going to just stop thinking about it. I'm going to go ahead and say everything without thinking about it first. So when he comes on. Because if I look at you, you'll throw me off and I will continue to flow with my eyes closed. Ooh, I am kind of loving doing podcasts. Eyes closed. Haven't said a useful thing yet. Okay, it doesn't matter. I've got a series of questions. Just make sure we'll go back and forth. They'll be of a nice flow. Number one, I want to tell you, last show. I apologize for bailing out last minute. Oh, you're fine. Papa Geo's a moron. It was a terrible. No, the big correction. Jalen Brunson Silver. You guys were talking about Jalen Brunson base. So I want to. I want to make this correct. You were talking like, oh, they're up to 400 bucks. Just to give people a little bit of clarity on this, the finals effect is unfreaking. Believing now I do have to open my eyes. Don't look at me. Everything. Everything. That here's. Can I go ahead and give the first piece of advice everyone should listen to? Sure. Don't listen to any advice that we give because you said, sell Wemby and he's gone nowhere but up he has not, but I have. Wemby's pricing. He has recalibrated over the last couple years, but he's still up from before my. Hang on my ebay price Thursday. No, no, no, no. You don't get to say crap. And then my ebay price on Wemby was 3,726 after fees. That's what it would have sold for. There've been a handful of sales. I sold mine for 33 cash. So if we're going to go ebay comp. To ebay comp. I sold mine two weeks ago for more than you could clear if you sold it today on ebay. Yeah, but that doesn't. That you are selling it live. I'm assuming that. No, I sold. I made a private deal. So that. Let's just say I went to ebay with on average, the average consumer, the listener, what they could have done. That's what I. That's why I did it, though. Based on current comps, you can sell for 3,737 after 13% is less than what I made on mine. Apples to apples. I made more money on my card two weeks ago than people make now. Okay. And by the way, I made that risk free. He almost lost okc. Don't understand how you got it 3700 to begin with. Because it. He was not like card letter does not show. Actually which card are we talking about? The silver. Like a silver. Okay. So yeah, it doesn't show that card being at 3700 until May 31st. I mean, it was three today at 3500. You could buy it online right now. There's 3600. Buy it now. Right now too. I'm just saying I don't understand how you sold it back then for 30. Again, I'm saying three. I see. Right. So I'm saying. But the ebay comp. That's what I mean. Like, there's this notion that like Wemby stuff is gone. It has not. Well, and if they continue to play like this, it's not going to. I would argue that Wimby, at this point, if they win a game, he will probably rebound a little bit. Maybe that pricing, the fact that he's already gone up over for almost 4,100. I mean, a couple. But again, you've also got $3,400 sales in the last seven days. So, like, this notion that he's just up is not true. He has a couple that have done really well. He's got others that have been the same as they were two weeks ago. The point I had though was guaranteed money when I sold it. That is the guarantee. You've made the money. There's no question where guys who held it from now you had to a bank on them coming back down three, two ago against okc. That is a risk. Sure, you have to. You're risking that he is going to stay healthy. Yeah, but again, and you have risk and you can make all the arguments you want. You were still wrong as far as this case goes. Yes, you were. Because you couldn't do what you did. Everybody who's listening couldn't do what you did. As far as sell it at 33, sure, they could have. They were doing that at the time. You could have gone to ebay that day and done it. Well, they did it on ebay. Then your point would be they sold it at like what, 3,000? They would have. They were about 3,500 at the time. They've gone up about $200 on average. The that's a lot of risk for note for little profit. That was my point at the time. I told you that too. They were going to go up. I knew they were going to go up some if. If everything played out correctly. But why am I risking it all goes correctly to make an extra $300 on a $3,500 card. So take your freaking wins. So many guys do this where it's like, no, I'm going to hold and look what happens. I mean, it's exactly the thought of, yes, you played a smarter play, but the riskier play that would have paid off a little bit more was if you had kept it. It hasn't paid off yet, though. Well, I mean, at this point you are what basically even to the point where we talked about it last. Right. If you had sold what after they won to okc. Yes, you definitely. There were four sales over for sure. But I also. My other point there is everybody thinks, oh, I'm also going to match the hot. If there were 20 other comps at the time, they're not all holding value at 4,100 bucks. I guarantee that. So that's my other thing. The other thought too of let's say he goes on this crazy run and they win it somehow, will his pricing go up? No doubt. But the other risk there is how many guys are then cashing out of Wemby stuff. That's this level. And the amount of irrational people too, by the way, giving me crap about this. Wemby's an all time Great. Wemby's won a defensive player of the year. That is all he has accomplished so far in his career, folks. I think he will be great as well. Yeah, I think he's probably going to go on to be unbelievable. But you know how many other people have had unbelievable peaks in their career? Sure. Four years ago, Luka was the greatest player ever. We're taking him over Larry Bird, and no one's ever going to do anything like Luka's done. Zion's still coming back, baby. Yeah, but Zion never actually did it. Luka Wemby's had done a full season. That's been unbelievable. Second mvp. Luca has had years like that. Where's Luca? And anybody else in a rush to. By the way, just to be clear, Lucas PSA 10 silvers right now doing about $1,500. Those were $10,000 cards back in the day. Yeah, but that's still you. Lucas Silver is still much higher than your average NBA player. Well, he's much better than your average. He just came in fourth in MVP voting. Of course. That's what I mean. Like, he is still selling at a premium compared to the rest of the league. But I'm not comparing Wemby to the rest of the league. I'm comparing Wemby to Wemby. I'm comparing the hype and the perception of Wemby to the reality. I'm comparing Luca to what we hyped him up at.10,000. It's now lost 80% of its money. Sure. Anthony Edwards peaked at 1500. Those are now 800. The only exception to this rule, by the way, is Jalen Brunson. You talked about Jalen Brunson on Monday, and you quoted his. His base price. His silver price. So you were talking about the Silver card. Oh, I quoted base and said, oh, yeah. You were like 400 bucks. I was like, that is absolutely not correct. Got you. Jalen Brunson cards as of the 6th, 7th, 8th, they have gone from 12 to 1500 to now you're talking all over $2000. When we. When I talked about it on Thursday, that card was $1250. Right. But you quoted. I know. I'm just saying that right now for perspective. That's what I mean. It went from 1200 double Thursday, almost doubled. It's 22 on now. So same argument, by the way. I would sell Jalen Brunson right now. But that's what's so crazy is I fully believed it with, like, every fiber in my being. You sell right now and you're going to be just fine. And you would have it. I mean, what you would have made money would have killed it. Same point is valid, I think here. But if you hadn't listened, you would still. You'd be making much more money at this point. On who? On Jalen Brunson. I'm saying sell right now. You cannot guarantee it's going to be much more money if you sell later. I'm. I'm saying what I had said. It doesn't matter. Can continue. You're fine. Yeah, I just. Again, this is the slippery slope. And then guys like, oh, I can't ever make money on cards. Yeah. Because too many people hold out where I'm gonna, A, I'm going to be able to sell it and B, you're gonna sell at the right time. I agree. I think there's too many people who do not take the money while they can. Now, I'm not saying sell Wemby Silvers when they peaked a month ago before the playoffs because he had a great season. Just wanted to. No, but I'm saying look at what he's done now. Now I would sell. And by the way, if you have some unbelievable cards of these guys. I'm never selling them, no matter what. You're stupid. Why would I ever sell it? I'm giving this to my kid in 20 years. Don't ever sell it, period. I'm fine with that. These are not rare cards. Okay. That's the difference. Like, I just. And if you. If more people did that, I just think you'd have more people in this hobby be much happier with the liquidity. They've made the argument about rare cards, though. I think you do have to put in perspective, like the Jalen Brunson. There's only. There's less than 650 of them. Sure. So I mean, like 2018, major turning point. That's the last year before Zion where you had. By the way, that 2018 class now is unbelievable. Luca Shea and Brunson. Wait, Shea was 18? 19. Correct. Okay, 19 was 19. Is now going down as one of the worst of all time. Zion, Ja Morant, your boy Tyler Herro was selling for an outrageous amount. Can I ask Kobe White, Kobe with a C had a moment where he was selling through the roof. I do remember that from the Bulls. Oh, dude. So many guys. 2019 has tanked in 2018 is unbelievable. Have you seen the SGA like pricing? As far as I thought he was going to fall off, he actually as of what, yesterday, a silver of his PSA 10 silver just sold for $3,000. Yeah, but they were 40 again. That was pushing $5,000. And they were up 3, 2. I'm showing 4800. I'm sorry, 4846. And a bunch of $4,500 sales. Really? Because I show his again, SGA Prism Silver PSA 10. Highest comp was May 25th at 3350. Oh, maybe I'm looking at the wrong card. I'm sorry, Hang on. You could be right. So if that. That is the case, then. Oh, I'm looking at the autos. I'm sorry. The autos were doing 45 to 5,000. Those will come down to four grand now. You're right about 3,300 when it was in the peak of that series. So the reason I'm talking about SGA to begin with is because I just saw. I think this came yesterday. He has. Let's see. One of one gold logo fracture or Logo man redemption card. A million dollar one. So, yeah, this is from Topps Chrome. This year, the one of one Gold Logo Man Redemption Auto relic sold for $1,061,400. Okay, here's what's crazy about that. His flawless 2019 Flawless Logo man auto. So 2019, though not rookie, not rookie, but that was his previous highest sale. 120,000 577,000. Really? So 577,000 in March and now we go to a million for another Logo Man Auto. That's not a rookie, but also Topps Chrome. It is the first year of Tops Chrome. Yeah. So neither one of rookies, but double the value. Yeah, I mean, he also. Since that. When did the other one sell though? March. So. So he's won another MVP since then. Yeah. And he's gone to the final since then. And this is top scroll. I'm actually. I actually thought it was gonna be a bigger disparity. By the way, to your point about the silver, though. Yeah. So consistently now, 2400 bucks has been about the new average. 2500. He was at 32 at the peak. So people would say, oh, what about sga? Here's the difference. I hate sga, by the way. I think to watch him play is miserable. I would love for someone to just take his legs out because he is unbelievably miserable to watch as a flopper. However, that's the difference. I like Wemby much better. If you tell me Wemby's gonna have a better career, okay, I could believe it. But to this point, yeah. As she has two MVPs, one of only like eight people, 10 people, all time with back to back MVPs and has a championship. Wemby has none of those things yet. That's why, like, take emotion and oh, I don't like how he plays. Neither do I. But that's the difference. This is an established hall of Fame career resume already. Just about. Yeah. And another guy who's played one full season. Relax. And that's why there's not been a huge drop. Plus the fact that I feel like he is going to get injured before it's just a matter of time. Wemby. Oh, yeah. If you said gun to your head, who do you think is going to miss more injury time in their career? Wemby over sga. No question. If you, if you just took Cliff notes of this conversation, who's the better investment over a longer period of time? Sga. Oh, I disagree with that. You think that. Oh yeah. I still think Wimby's a great investment long term because you've seen the hype, you've seen the peak. That's a difference. I mean, SGA is not going to accomplish depending on if he wins a championship. That's a totally different story. Maybe. But yeah, at this point in time, it seems like SGA is the better investment. All right, so Gary is in the lobby. We can go ahead and bring him in. Name is Gary Vaynerchuk, folks. He goes by Gary V. To his friends. Gary Vee has joined us. It's official. He is. He has followed through on the questions he didn't even know we were gonna ask. Which was exactly? Does Gary V. Fly commercial or does he have his own private jet? He is in an airport, folks. Gary V. How the heck are you, sir? I'm incredibly well. It's great to see you. Now you have to answer. Are you in a private airport or you are officially flying in a commercial plane. This is beyond commercial. And wait till you hear where I'm going. Tell it. Tell us where you're. That's a Spirit Airways. Okay, spirit maybe, but Spirit. Where are you going, Gary? I'm going to San Antonio, Texas. No way are you going to a Spurs game. I'm not. The Knicks and Spurs are playing in New York today. And I'm leaving New York because I booked a speech in San Antonio, Texas, where I've never been in my entire life. And I've been everywhere. And now I'm there while my beloved Knicks play their first home NBA finals game at the Garden. I'm so sorry. In 27 years. That's. That's brutal. Would you have gone to the game? No, I would. Of course I would have gone to the game. At this point in time, are you regretting your choices? Are you wishing you did not have this speech to give? There's a old Russian saying my grandma used to say, and my mom, man makes a plan and God laughs. That's exactly what's happening here, Russian grandma. I think Charles Barkley is also laughing. Charles has some pretty famous commentary on the people in San Antonio, specifically the women. But that's fine. Yeah, it's all right. Gary, thank you for coming on. We know you're busy. Obviously, you've got 2026 Veefriends Chrome coming out this week. You've got your beloved Knicks in the championship. What? Where do you want to start? I want to bring value to your audience. I want to respect the best podcast and sports and trading cards and nonfiction fiction. And so wherever you boys take me, I will go. Okay, let me start with this then. You made a statement at the industry conference this past February or April, I mean, that me and Jesse both thought was pretty cool, and I want to dig in. You were on stage with some other folks and you said, you know, everybody's talking about how great things are, the market's good, all this other crap, which we've seen before. But then you specifically said, hey, a lot of you guys in here, winter is coming. And you've never seen that before in the hobby, because some of these guys are 5 years or less in the hobby, they've not seen winter. When you make a statement like that, what in your mind does winter look like? If we knew more about our sleep, what would we do differently? Would we go to bed at a consistent time or take steps to reduce interruptions to our sleep? With Sleep score, Apple Watch measures your bedtime consistency, interruptions and sleep duration. Then every morning it combines these factors into an easy to understand score from 1 to 100. So you'll know how to take the quality of your sleep from OK to very high. Know your sleep score with Apple Watch iPhone 11 or later required. We gather here tonight to bring women back to their rightful place. The Testaments, a new Hulu original series from the executive producers of the Handmaid's Tale. It's easier to accept a story than believe that the people around you are monsters. The battle isn't over. There comes a time when you have to take action, when you have to choose your own destiny. Never quite as it stands. Watch the New Hulu Original series, the Testaments streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney plus for bundle subscribers. Terms apply that there's less demand than there is supply, that passive collectors or flippers move on to the next genre or thing. And there's a correction. Now, I have believed in trading cards as an asset class my whole life. You guys are familiar that in 2018, before COVID I started getting loud that it was coming. So I'm bullish. I'm just concerned about timing. I'm worried that somebody's gonna overextend themselves on two or three launches in a 60 day window. And then the market softens very aggressively. Quickly, their cash flow gets up. They buy too many stores, too much square footage, too much product. And they aren't being thoughtful. They're. They're being overextending and gambling. And I don't want them to get caught with product that can't move. So I was just setting the conversation to be a little bit more business and a little less drunken sale or gambling. And so I just thought it was an important thing to call out. Yeah. Which by the way, I absolutely love it because I agree, like a lot of guy, I've been doing this long enough now where I've seen the ups, the downs, the in betweens, the amazing booms. And we all think about, oh, everything's going to 10x, everything's going to the moon, all this other crap. But yeah, at some point we've seen it before. So my next question is, what do you tell the average collector who. And I say average. The collector who has a nice amount of money invested in this thing still has a real job. But hey, I'm buying, I'm selling and flipping, I'm breaking occasionally. What do you tell those guys in preparation for that winter? They're. If they're collectors, you're collecting what you want. To your point, a lot of people are collectors. Slash investors and flippers. Yes, to that person, I say get some liquid out of this speculation. Jackson Dart needs to become Tom Brady to justify his prices. Yeah, right. Keonti George needs to be Michael Jordan to justify these prices. So I would say to liquidate some of the most highly speculative athletes you're in, especially the ones you believe in the left. I want to talk something about veefriends without like just sounding like I'm a complete shill of veefriends. But I do enjoy what, what you're doing with it. But there is a big question that someone had for me. The actually earlier today and it's like, it's a very reasonable question to me. I'm gonna. I'm gonna let that speak. No, no, I know you. I know. All right. So my question for you is this. It comes about with. If you compare bfrints to Pokemon in the past, which I think you. That's something that's happened. One thing that stands out to me is that Pokemon has built its audience through games, tv, entertainment, all that kind of thing before it became a major collectible. But vFriends has seemed to launch with collectible first mentality. I mean, granted, there was the TCG aspect of it, but it's much more a collectible idea as far as NFTs, the cards, things like that. So with that being said, why did you choose to do the collectible path as opposed to building the brand first and then going into collectibles? So your friend is absolutely right. Who brought that up? I started with collectibles first. I knew it was a way to go to market. I knew that over the last 20 years that I've built a big enough community that cared about me. And the things that I've talked about, empathy, kindness, tenacity, competitiveness. And so I thought there would be a group of early collectors that would matter. But 20 to 30 years do all the things that Pokemon has done to even have a chance to be within any realm of close to that. And that's the responsibility of the North Star that I'm looking for. And the comic books are a big play because we're building out the stories to be able to build out the mission and the movies and the books and things of that nature. So, yeah, we're where I'm not confused what I've signed up for. And I've got a long, long, long way to go. But I feel very committed to it. Look at it. To the business, to the advertising agency, to sports agency, my personal brand. And I have comfort in my ability to build things. I will tell you this. I've got breaks of this product listed for Wednesday. And from last year to this year, I can tell you I've. I've already seen the growth in the audience because last year I felt like there was a handful of befriend guys who are, like, really into it. They knew the characters very well, and they knew exactly what they wanted. But then it was like, okay, well, we got to move the rest of these spots. And this time I had guys reaching out, messaging me before I ever even listed the product, asking, hey, are you going to put anything Out. Are you going to have spots listed? What time will you have them? I want to be in there ready to get my spots the moment it comes out. Seeing that the very, very, very, very black cat spot in a mini breaks is selling for over $1,000 for one case, it's absolutely insane to see what. You know, the fact that you have a hundred thousand dollar bounty out there that. Well, you don't, but someone, a collector has $100,000 bounty on one of those cards. I feel like there is a lot of growth, but I feel like there's still misconceptions. So I'm curious, as far as veefriends goes, what would you say is the biggest misconception card collectors have? I don't think it's a misconception. I think it's fair what they think. I think it's. I think it's fair to think that it's metazoo. I think it's fair to think something that I'm gonna do for a few minutes and then be out. I understand how the world works and I understand people have seen other things that have been quick fads. I'm the only person that really knows that I want to do this for the rest of my life. And don't forget, this is happening during a very hot time, this bubble that we just talked about in the earlier question. So, you know, I've got a lot of work to get there. But I really do believe to your point, there's a lot more people into it. People really do enjoy what the cards represent. I'm passionate about ambitious angel and fearless fairy and compassionate catfish. I think we're selling good stuff. I think it sits more in Jim Henson's Sesame street realm than it does in Transformers world. And I think that will play out for parents. I know a lot of girl dads are into it. I think people support what I'm doing. And then you have a lot of collectors that are into it. And I think me and rips make very good sets. You know, the Erupt insert that you just referenced with the bounty is drawn by the original Kaboom artist. We do smart things, we care about it, we know what we're doing. And I think over the next decade that will play out. And hopefully we can make people that believe in this IP who've invested and collected in it. Big winners. Just like the people that won with Pokemon years ago. I just had one other question. As far as this release goes, so 2026 tops. Chrome obviously is already coming out with a lot of hype similar to last year. But last year we now have history, right? We saw what last year did and we're seeing now the effect on this year's product. How much longer do you foresee a partnership with Topps going with the Veefriends products? Is this like something that goes as long as Veefriends goes, or is this something that you only originally agreed to for maybe a few years? We signed a 10 year deal. You know, obviously after eight more releases there'll be a renegotiation. I hope we do it with tabs. But no one who's listening isn't confused. Things evolve. You know, there'll be other brands, but obviously I have a close relationship with Ruben for years, long before he got into sports cards and so I hope we continue it. I hope Bfriends keeps growing so we can do other things besides Chrome, whether it's Cosmic or Royalty or Bowman or whatever, stadium club or Finest. So we're in this for the long haul. There is a ton of hype. That's not just me saying it because I'm selling spots. It is very cool to see that there's such a fan base. People's like usernames and icons are now associated with Veefriend stuff. Something that I wasn't seeing last year. More, more power to you. I do think it's really cool to everybody listening whether you are interested in it or not. It's still something that I think deserves respect in the sense of hey, maybe it's not for you but that's okay. Just keep on moving on. If I may, I think we need more time to fully get respect. What I would say to the people that are listening is and this is what I do with things, it's good to go and look at why things are happening because you might be a sports only person but maybe you learned something from why under why people really cared about be friends and that might deploy to why you think hockey is an opportunity or boxing or ufc. I, I think there's something to learn from anything that's happening whether it's pro or con hyped or long term. And so for the people that listen to this podcast, you're clearly very passionate about this stuff and so I would recommend looking into it looking at one 30 point card ladder, eBay comps around this to understand why to join a couple breaks to see why. Whether it's for you or not, it's good information for you to be better at unlicensed signature series from Panini or, or, or again Upper deck hockey or just it teaches you things. I learned from everything, whether I'm into it or not. And I think that's the biggest thing for people that don't care. Last question. I've got the Mr. Beast card, which I am dubbing officially his rookie card in this set. I don't count the tops now one that came out earlier. So if this is his rookie card, is there any chance that there are autos in this product of Mr. Beast that just didn't get added to the checklist? The answer is yes. There's actually a super fractor, auto rips, There's a super fracture, regular Mr. Beast too. So there's two super fractures, one with auto. I think that card is going to really matter. There is an auto of Mr. Beast in this product that is. That's breaking news right there. That's not on the checklist anywhere. That's pretty. That's huge for collectors for that content Condor spot. Okay, well I'm going out and upping my prices on that spot right now. And now, Gary, thank you very much for coming on. Obviously you're in the middle of travel for the busy life that you leave, so appreciate the time to come on and talk about this. Listen, you know I root for you guys. I think you guys do really good work and I cheer for everything in your guys world. Except Drake May. Except Drake May. Mike is really proud of that. Very proud. All right. Correct. Hey, Gary, thank you again. We will look forward to the product and. Yeah, where are we going next? I'm excited. I'm not mad at you for once and I think vice versa. I think we are getting along. I'm not. I don't have any animosity. I just want to be able to continue to finish the episode with quality. Man, it's so quiet now that I had to turn. It's great. No, I mean like you and I, like. Do you not notice, like our microphones are just a little lower? I notice I don't hear everything seven times and friggin static and PA announcements. I will say let's go to his credit, like how many people would have just kept going? I would have just said, nah, like I'm done. Well, we'll do this another time. Getting on the airport like right now. Quick suggestion. Maybe just another time. We're not an airport in the first place, but that's fine. I'm guessing that may not have been. Where's Rachel? Oh, I'm kidding. All right. What? We can do a few more things. I had an Interesting thing on Facebook, but I'm doing everyone. What was your Facebook? I made a post today because I think most people are feeling the heat like I am. Wax and singles are extremely high right now. What are you doing? Are you still buying? Are you selling? Are you sitting out for a minute? Because it's true. Every. This, this pattern we've been talking about for over a month, every release comes out unbelievably expensive now. Yep. Everything. Well, when you say it comes out unbelievably expensive, are you saying from, from the issue or like from the. No, I'm saying. Well, that too, actually. Yes, it's expensive to us, which means we have to be more expensive to make a profit. That's how business works. You buy something for a price, you sell it for more. Wave 1. Pricing hasn't seemed that crazy to me. Well, granted you're in the sports world, so I guess chrome and stuff like that is definitely more expensive. I think everything is. And so at some point I am starting to lean into. Gary talked about this again. I don't know if you'll hear it or not. The winter is coming scenario, it definitely is coming to a degree because we're already seeing big customers of me and Eddie say, hey, appreciate you. We're actually just going to sit a few out. We're going to take a little break because it seems like, hey, in two weeks I can buy in much cheaper. I think that's the case in a huge way in almost all sports things. I think the same is true with, with singles though. There is so much speculation right now with singles like we're seeing with again. I don't keep going back to the WEMBY thing, but name your athlete who's having a good season in any sport. Oh, well, let's just buy them all up. Price doubled overnight. Who cares? Keep buying because it's going to keep doubling. Yeah, it's just like at some point people you have to realize, number one, the vast majority of guys you're buying have never accomplished anything. If they die tomorrow, Nobody cares in 10 years. Okay. Period. Like that is just the other thing is none of. Not every one of these guys, you know, if they don't die, is going to be an all time great player. Like look back at the guys who have had a great little stretch or a good little stretch or who were hyped up. Yeah. Gary mentioned Jackson Dart. Jackson Dart has accomplished nothing for a team that if the Giants win seven games this year, it would be considered probably a successful season. If they go 7 and 10 and stay healthy. Okay. Most people probably. You know what, I take that going forward we have the young core in place. New coach Harbaugh. If we win seven. Shador Sanders. I don't even know if it's going to start for the Cleveland Browns. And even if he does, it's the Cleveland Browns. Yeah, they suck as an organization. Hey, Jim Brown is dead. They've had his. He was the last great. The last great Brown was Jim Brown and he is not coming through the door this year. Okay? Like, just name any Wander Franco was unbelievable as a lead up and, and was an unbelievable. So the hype was there as a, as a prospect first. Then the hype was there as he had an unbelievable rookie year. Horrible guy off the field. I think he literally just got arrested or just got convicted of something. No jail time. Is that true? Yeah. Still scumbag. He's never coming back. And look where his stuff is gone. Jason Dominguez, by the way, even more hyped than Wander was. Nobody cares about Jason Dominguez at all. Nor should they. So I just, at some point I do wish the hobby would understand. Like, hey, we don't have to keep paying top dollar for everything. I. And that's the thing, right? You say top dollar for everything and I'm sure there are going to be some who listen to this and like, oh yeah, that was me. But how many people were the ones who were on the way up to top dollar? Right? Like. So I guess my question is, I don't even know you're talking about. Say sorry, explain that to me. I'm not trying to be aggressive. I'm not on their way to top dollar. Meaning what? As prices went up, they were buying, but they didn't buy at top dollar. Oh, fantastic. So sure. So the, the question that I have is where should card prices be for the average player? Everything should be lower than it is right now. Okay. Do you have like a price point that seems right? I think everything is unbelievably overpriced right now. Okay, what is over? Like, can you give an example? Singles are overpriced. I think wax in general, sports, like, I don't know about your world. Yeah, yeah. Everything comes out higher than it should. I just think everything right now is super high. And if you look at the. The vast majority of everything, whether it's a single that sells for the first time, a single is going to continue to sell. Not a one of one, but a single. An autograph of any player, patch, rookie, whatever, and. Or Wax releasing, then give it three weeks. 95% of that is much cheaper in three weeks. Right now we are seeing more of that curve and cliff than we've seen in a long time. And for the first time, dude, for the first time, I've talked to Eddie about, hey, I'm not sure that we need to keep maxing out buys on every, including wave one, stuff we've been getting smashed on dude basketball lately. And I don't know who to, by the way. And I'm going to say this because I'm not on here just trying to bash fanatics for this, but like, top signature class basketball is a fine product. We ripped it the other night. Signature class football, which came out Friday. Fine product. When it comes out at 5,000 a case, think the overwhelm. And by the way, that's like initial or first offering. That's, that's retail for the stuff like going to public. Okay. I just think it's too high. Again, that's not the price fanatics comes to me with. So I'm not gonna blame them for this entirely. Sure. But I do start to wonder, like, where's the reckoning then? Does it start coming to breakers and shops cheaper so we can sell it cheaper? Or is it one where the reverse happens where like Gary mentioned, hey, at some point people gonna invest a lot of money in a product and it's gonna stink out of the gate and you're gonna get stuck with it. One of those two things needs to happen or we're gonna get in a real bad situation here soon, I think. I honestly cannot imagine a world where people start selling it for less than what they know others will buy it for. But if others aren't buying it, that's in my scenario. I'm saying others are not buying it. Right now, a lot of people are getting stuck with still buying. I mean, people are still buying it. They may not be buying it all the time and they may not be buying as much, but there's still people that will buy in some of these situations because if there was no one buying, then nothing would sell. I'm not saying no. What I'm saying in general, though, you can find this stuff cheaper because there already are people doing it. People are already selling it cheaper than they get it for because they sit on it for a week or two. Sure. And they just need the capital back. Yeah. But that's, that's my problem is like, how do we get to a place where we don't have to put it out at those prices? Like initially, if someone is getting the product and they initially sell it at a higher price because they know people are going to buy it at that price, but we know it's too high of a price, how do you get them to say it's okay? No, it's not going to happen by the way. And that's what I mean. The top 10% who control 80% of the product aren't going to do it and that. But what you're starting to see now is the spill down effect or the trickle down effect. Excuse me. So I think that everybody has their, Everybody has a right to do whatever they want. In my world I've seen more people coming. I feel like there's more people coming into the non sport and Pokemon world from the sports side because of these exact issues that you're talking about. See, Pokemon terrifies me right now too though. The guys I talked to on the Pokemon side who do both, even those guys are like, man, like look at the prices and the pop on some of the stuff. When does that stop? Yeah, but that's been, I, there's no difference in how that's been. It's been like that for quite some time. Like at least another year, two years, we'll see. Maybe it, it is at this point in time I do think that there will be a reckoning, but I don't think we're at the same point that the sports card world is in. I could see that. I think sports card world is much more closer to at that point of hey, I'm okay not being in this break like you just said. Yeah, I'm okay not buying into this product. I'm okay sitting out a few break guys aren't going to do that with your stuff either because it's not like it's every week. Well, you may not get a product. Right. That's what I mean though. Like you may not get another product for three or four weeks. Well, and I just saw like Slabsquatch did like a breakdown. Corey. Marvel product, the Marvel Comics Disney Chrome product coming out soon and it was pretty intimidating to see like oh well, the print count did go up. Now granted, I think they've included, I don't know, twice as many or maybe I may be drastically under remembering. But a ton more sketches in this product. There's things that people want, the collectibility of it. But at the same time all I'm thinking is man, I don't want more product. I don't want more paper out there. However. I agree, however, but it keeps the price down. If you think of it. Yeah. If you think of this in the terms of what is one of. It's not even one of what is the most successful card product out there right now. It is Pokemon. Pokemon is the most successful. And you know what they do. We just talked about this on Hobbynaz. Over the last 20 years, they printed over 80 billion cards. They print so much of that product. But it keeps packs at five to ten dollars a pack on average, which is helpful. Super attainable. Yeah. The boxes cost relative $200. Yep. It's. They are. I. And this is interesting. That's the total opposite of our sale. So that's what I'm wondering though is. Is tops fanatics. Are they taking a page from the Pokemon book and saying, hey, we just because it prince to the moon doesn't make it junk wax necessarily. Because if you said that then that's what Pokemon would be. And many. There's a whole world of people who don't believe that. But that's the difference. You're also the audience size for Pokemon is. Is. I would actually be curious for every one sports card collector and there could be overlap. You could be both. But if you say if you check the box for I collect sports cards or buy or whatever. Yeah. For every one that does that, how many check I collected by Pokemon, I used to think it was 10 to 1. I'll be honest. I think it is like 80 to 1. I think you're probably. I think it is unbelievable. And so again, you can't have junk wax. Junk wax is. Hey, they just printed so much. There's just a ton sitting here. And the supply is way higher than demand. That's not the case with Pokemon. Well, do you think demand goes up if the prices come down because they sell it more? Of course. That's what I think. So it's. But here's the problem. The pricing isn't coming down right now. You have both. I feel like you have more product and it's more expensive. That's when you start to run into these little weird. I don't know if delta is the right word, but it's like it's almost like the perfect storm of like, hey, there's already a little bit of speculation, you know, that hey, maybe things are high because we're not the only ones saying this. And we've been saying this for a while. Again, focus only on sports for now. Sure, sure. But other factors now come in 2025 football. Who are you chasing? That you actually have confidence. Is Good. That class sucks. Yeah. Basketball, total opposite Khan Cooper, sure. But what ha. What's happening now is it's not. We're not really criticizing 2025 stuff. We're starting to say though, but yeah, we're almost to 2026 stuff. The draft's about to happen and then who are we chasing there? We're coming off this unbelievable class with generational type right now. Talent. If we don't have that next year. But the pricing and the print runs are the same, but there's no Chase and it's not first year. Like, we just had first dude. I legitimately start to get nervous for next year of like, wow, do I want 10 cases of X product? Do you notice that? Like, so when. When Tops comes out with products, they will send it at the first wave, which is considerably lower price than the Second Wave. Nine times out of ten, if they come out. If Next Wave, say second Wave comes out, that product's pricing is typically determinant in my eyes to what the market is doing. So if you see Tops Football is a perfect sale, or Dave and Adams, if it's doubled in price, they're going to go up 30, 40, 50% on the wave two pricing. Now what I've also noticed though, is if they haven't done that, they don't double that. Like, that price does not increase as substantially. Agree. Case in point with Cosmic WWE Cosmic. We got a Second Wave offer on that and it was a, I don't know, 10% up, right? It was like, yeah, maybe 20%, something like that. Very. Because the product is not crazy on the secondary right now from what it was. Well, and there was also so much other WWE that their wallets, people who are buying it just didn't have the money to buy. So it's like, okay, I like that. I don't. That's why it's like I come back to. I don't blame Thompson fanatics for this pricing. I come back to the people who are getting it and they're like, oh, well, I need to max out. Because the last few products I was under, I had to sell my Second Wave for less than. So now I've got to sell this one for even more so that I can break even on that other one. And then it's just like a whole cascading cycle of, hey, every other product I'm going to have to keep raising the price on just so I can make up for the last thing. And that's where we get to this point where no one can buy in and nobody wants to buy in at those prices. And that's why I'm curious and I'm going to put this out because I think people listen. I would love. And I don't know how much they would want to talk about that anyways. It's their business. I don't have to. I would love to know from a tops person, you know, Mayhan or somebody right underneath him, how is pricing set going forward too? Because. Because to your point, let me just. Because I think you'll agree with me. We're both agreeing like hey, if a product what just came out signature class football came out, it was relatively flat. Mm. Just was decent product, but relatively flat. The Wave 2 is about the same pricing then or even is the same pricing because it came out flat. It didn't have this crazy arc. You take that into consideration. I guess my next question. Do you also take into consideration and I don't know the answer next year for basketball, the class is going to be unbelievably underwhelming compared to this year. So when Topps Chrome come and it's not going to be first year like this was first year, does that stuff come into consideration on the initial offering for price? Because somebody in the room saying hey guys, it's not first year flagship coming back. It's not Cooper Flag here. AJ is not Cooper flag. We came out last year at whatever made up pricing $100 for the box. Yeah. Maybe this year we should come out at 60 and see what it does. Is that conversation happening? If it is, I have hope. If it's not. That's right. Because what I start to worry is. And I'll be done. Sorry. No, I'm such a worry is hey, cosmic is 700 a bucks. 700 every year no matter what. Well, some years it's not that. So. So that's what I'm curious about. Well and I think that what we see when those situations happen are they will give a wave one price to everybody who has allocation and it will be maybe a little bit lower, but it'll be one or two cases. Well, they want to test the market. That's speculating. We haven't seen that yet. Oh I know. But this is what I have seen. They, they do this already with products where I feel like it's like the first one out sports like for non sport. So I'm speaking from a non sport. So maybe they'll do that with us. Where it's like hey, this product has not come out yet before like the spongebob one when it first came out, I was like, actually, that's a bad example because they. I think they knew that one was going to be more popular. But you can never underestimate creeps. But there have been a couple of ones, like smugglers outp. For example, that's a Star wars product. But that SKU had never come out before. But it was loaded. It had a ton of stuff in there. So come out cheap. Test. The water came out cheap, but only for like a couple cases. And then it's like, okay, well, we're gonna let you have a rebuy and then we're gonna effectively act. That will be. I'm okay with that. At least you're based on the market, on the demand. So that's what I want to know. In the sports side, does that happen? Well, because you can do that with. With non sport too, because there's way less customer. It's just a smaller market. I want to. I'm genuinely curious. How is that going into specifically next year? I think most people think NFL, the class is underwhelming, aside from Mendoza and he's going to Oakland and then the NBA. Way underwhelming. What's the thought process as we start to ramp up for the. Who's setting the price and what are. What's the basis? What are the points for setting the price? Where it is? Yeah, I would love it. If somebody wants to reach out, like, let us know. We would. You know, maybe I should just text Zach too, like, hey, who could. Is that something you would speak about? If so, who could. Because I think that would genuinely be an interesting conversation to have. I think so too, but I just. I doubt that we would ever get someone on a live conversation to talk about pricing stuff. You don't. I don't want numbers. I just want the. How you get to. How do you get. I'm not asking for a specific. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Anyways, there you go. All right. Well, I will say this. We had our ebay live show on Sunday. It was actually pretty good. I was worried because we took the last Sunday off. Next three and three weeks we have that charitable show that we're doing, I think. Charitable show because 28th. Yeah, yeah. The. The show. What it is. There's a card show that is being hosted that basically caters to disabled kids. Like kids who can't have the same kind of like, stimulated audience, like of thousands of people around them or they have like a handicap of some kind. That's what the show is all about. I'm getting all the details as it comes, but there is going to be an auction on ebay live that all proceeds. I'm taking everything, both myself and Matt Funkle, AKA all those cards, every shipping thing. None of that is coming out of what you guys will buy. It will all go to them. So no expenses is what I'm saying. Very cooling out. Good. So that'll be a fun thing. Ebay live, Jesse and charity, some could argue you guys just keep the money. Your charity. We are the chair. Yeah, we are the charity. If you google hard enough stuff, you'll find that is not that deep of a search. But take a look at their picture. You'll understand why they need help. That's a good picture. The sports boy and Funko. He's looking at it. I can't see it. It's super refracted. Oh, I saw that before. I don't care anymore. That's great. I will give my quick ebay live pitch. I said it last night. I talked to Alex about those Gordy as well. I don't know if they've just onboarded a ton more sellers. The crowds are substantially smaller than they've been. Oh, like the metrics are weird right now. I don't love. You know what I heard from Steven Turner yesterday? He said, you know what I wish, friend in real life, by the way, nothing to do with the hobby. Yeah, bought my avalanche though, and I would buy that back happily. He said to me, you know what I wish? I wish I could open my ebay app and I don't have to see ebay live all the time. Which made me think, oh, that's actually kind of cool that ebay live is being pushed that much because I don't know, I just assume everything's catered towards me since I, you know, they look at the cookies and they're like, oh, this guy went to ebay live before we got to get more ebay live notifications, things like that. But apparently, like for someone who doesn't even use it, they're getting ebay live stuff. That's good. However, you know what? That sparked another conversation. Is that Trina Baufman then says a lot of from real life. Okay, what did Trina do? She was like, well, not totally just Trina. Yeah, just Trina. She wanted to know where we go live when we go live. She wanted to get in there and check it out. Sam starts going, you know what? There's couples on there selling all the time. They've got their sunglasses, their purses. You should Take some of your stuff and sell it on there. So she's thinking about getting an ebay live account. So we've created some monsters here. I don't know. Not we. Well I mean you're guilty by. So I'm gonna keep doing the regular weekly show. I will say the big one is coming up. We're gonna do a 22 parter. So Friday the 19th the day of the live show. Attaboy cards. Chris Thomas, he's gonna come down, he's gonna do. We're gonna do it from the live studio but we're just gonna do it from the like the setup is from the laptop. Like we normally do a remote show. We'll be in the new location, we'll have a bunch of people there. I'm gonna do that Sunday night I'm gonna sell my Willie Mays rookie. We started a buck no backstop by the way. Sometimes people like oh they're selling big cards because ebay's paying for. There's no backstop. So that card sells for what it sells for. I've got that go for I'm hoping 12 000. I've got that card. I've got a 1956 mantle white back PSA four should do close to 3, 500. Couple other four figure mantles then I've got like 10 to 15 game used pinstripe patches of Mickey. We've got some big Willie Mays cards aside from just the rookie we're gonna have like a one on one each euro some new modern stuff as well. It should be a very big show. Can I ask. That'll be the 21st. I'm have it scheduled out like 10 days ahead of time. Yes. Funko told me last night he got a lot that included a signed Mickey Mantle baseball and he was wondering if you would be interested in selling it 60 and taking. Well we were. It would be the charity. It would go to the charitable thing too. Like it. That sale would probably do better in one of your lives. Sure. In mine. Kick it over. So we'll do it that night. Do you have it? Do you have the ball? No, I don't have it. He just. When's he coming? Next weekend or. No. Oh, he's not coming. It's. Yeah, it'll be online stuff. He listens to the show or no? Yeah, he listens Funko. As long as it has like no like psa, JSA authentication sticker, hologram, the whole letter then yes. There you go. Send it down. We'll just sell it and whatever we sell it for you get it. I'll eat the fee. Really? You and your kids. Oh, okay, cool. Well, then, yeah. So Thursday. Do we have a guest? I feel like we did, right? I don't know. I feel like we did, too. So angry over before. Maybe Gary will call back in from a landline. Hey, Gary. I say Gary was very cool in the sense of, like, he would do something very special to make up for if that interview does not come through. I'm hoping it. How about 10 minutes on Instagram live tonight at halftime? Boom. There you go. That's an option. Okay. All right, well, we'll see you guys on Thursday. Thank you so much. Goodbye.
