Foreign. What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of Limited resources. This episode, number 862. My name is Marshall, I'm one of your limited resources. And joining me on the line all the way from Denver, Colorado, it's Luis Scott Vargas. Luis, guess what time it is, buddy? It's draft o'. Clock. Oh yeah, let's do it. We're going to do our draft walkthrough for Marvel Superheroes today. This is we will be doing it, of course, on our audio only as well. We'll be describing our deck and giving you, keeping you up to date as far as what we have and the decisions that we're making. But of course there's also the video version on YouTube if you want to just follow along and see each of the pics so that you can see on all of the cards in the pack etc on our YouTube channel. It's just limited resources over there. Before we jump in, I did want to say thank you to everybody who supports us on Patreon. Patreon's a place where you can support your favorite content creators directly. It's really nice because the ups and downs of being a content creator when it comes to sponsorship and monetization and all that stuff can get kind of ridiculous. And having that core base of your most ardent supporters directly support you can really help even things out. And it's really very much appreciated. If you want to do that for us, it's patreon.com limited resources. You get a thank you card and a sticker in the mail as well. We also want to thank our sponsor, Ultimate Guard for supporting us. You know, if you're a magic player, you need to protect your cards. They're valuable. I mean, straight up. A lot of times you're going to play with them for a season, then you're going to want to trade them in to try to get the new cards. Or maybe you just need a little bit of money or you're going to keep them for the long term. In any of these scenarios, you're going to need to protect those cards and make sure that they stay in that beautiful near mint condition so that you can again sell them, trade them, move them along or keep them. In order to do so, you're going to need to protect them at the card level, the deck level and even at the collection level. At the card level you've got sleeves. At the deck level you've got a deck box and a play mat. And then at the collection level you've got binders, backpacks, long Boxes, that type of stuff and Ultimate Guard has all of it. They make really great stuff. Great materials, great design. Married together to make a great product. You can check out their full line at Ultimate Guard Dog and if you'd like, you can pick up their their products from your favorite local game store or online retailer. Thank you Ultimate Guard. We really do appreciate your support of the show this. One of the things you get for being a Patreon supporter of ours by the way, is you get to put questions into the Patreon question of the week. This one comes from Nathan who says hello, thanks for the great show. Quick non magic question. What's the fastest you've ever ran a mile? Are you more sprinters endurance or thanks Nathan or something else? The fastest I've run a mile is like six minutes and a little bit over, I don't know, six minutes and ten seconds or something like that. That's really good, dude. I did cross country in high school. That was many moons ago as it were, but I would say so that was mostly also longer races. Like my, my, my pace running cross country was closer to like a typically about a seven minute mile which is, it wasn't that fast. I wasn't particularly good but I enjoyed it, you know, well enough and it was good exercise. I would say I am definitely more of an endurance aficionado like you know, like hiking and backpacking and like I did a half marathon here in Colorado again a while ago and I was proud because I ran the entire time. My, my pace ended up being something like nine and a half, ten minutes a mile or about which was. It really is not that fast But I ran 13 miles without stopping. That's what I was trying to do. So that is incredible. I would say that's more of on the endurance side. That's really incredible. Yeah, I think, I guess I think my fastest was when I was in high school and playing on the basketball team and it was not as fast as Luis is there. I think it was more in the 630 to 645 range if I remember. I know it was sub 7 minute but it wasn't by that much. So I guess I'm not really that much of an endurance runner cause I was in really good shape then. But in basketball, you know it kind of combines endurance plus sprinting. So I guess more on the sprinting side of things. Plus I don't know, I always get the endurance stuff is like hard. Like I, I, I'm always like feel like I'm being tortured if I Have to go jogging or something. But if I play basketball, I'm just like the happiest person so. Cool question, Nathan, and kind of an interesting non magic one there, Luis. We're going to jump into not one but two Marvel superheroes drafts here today. But I did want to get your take on the format before we jump in as kind of where you at now with it? You know, we're less than a week away from the pro tour for example where you know, in Amsterdam the players are going to be drafting on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We're actually doing the top eight as a booster draft over there as well. Which is awesome by the way. Super excited about that one. But it does mean that limited at that PT is going to have, you know, more influence on the winner than constructed. And I'm just curious where you're at. If, if you were playing in this pt, you know, how would you be feeling about the format? What would you be focusing on? If I was playing in the pt I would be doing more drafts than I'm doing though I still have been drafting and I've actually my enjoyment of the format has gone up over time. First of all, I think sealed is still quite, quite good. Like you, you can, you can play a lot of different decks and sealed. The other is that I think, you know, draft is self correcting less on arena than in like pod. Play on like Magic Online for example. Especially talking to the guys who are testing for the pt. A lot of my friends, they have a very different impression of what, what things could look like at the pro tour. Right. Because you're playing in pod. Everyone knows which cards are good going in and what strategies are good. Which is going to lead to some amount of flexibility because you not. There can't be five blue eyed draft at the same table. Not without all having pretty bad decks or at least three or four of them probably have bad decks. I do think that they did seed this format with enough stuff to cook a little with like the, the dual lands, the game lands, the land Cyclers. Like I've splashed a little bit more. I mean look, I'm not saying that you should pass here on training. I'm not saying that you should, you know, assume that blue white is not, you're not going to face it that often. You're still going to face it a lot. Still going to be really good. But I do think there is a little bit more room to maneuver and I think that the probably the best way to approach it is like don't look for Reasons not to be blue white, but you don't have to be blue white. You don't have to draft white green. You can draft other things. I still think you should probably take a good white card over, you know, like a good white common over a black or red Rare, especially red. But I do think that there you. If you open a Vision Quest, it's a totally legit thing to just take Vision Quest and draft around it and have a good like blue, red deck, like that can happen. But I think that, I think the strength of this format is probably just like the actual gameplay because I think the gameplay is pretty good. I think the draft portion color imbalance hurts the draft portion more than the gameplay typically. You know, one, one litmus test that I think is interesting for sets that play out like this. You mentioned Hero in training. You open up a okay pack Rare isn't really enticing and you end up taking hero and training as your first pick. Is the voice in the back of your head excited that you got, you know, the best Common and one of the best commons we've seen in, in, in quite a few sets here, or is the voice in the back your head going, buckle up, I'm about to fight, you know, multiple other players at this table for, for this deck or this color at least. Well, it kind of. Kind of neither. Like, I'm not that excited to first pick a Common really in any format ever. Right. Regardless of the Common. It's like in Cuba, you're not excited to, to first pick a Fetchland, even if that's a fine first pick. You know, I've all said that first picking a fetch landing cube was kind of like taking a good Common and, and yeah, like you're not excited about it, but you know, that's how the pack is. That's how the pack is. There's not much you can do about that. Okay. But you're also not dreading it. Or maybe dreading is too strong, but you're not like bummed it's fine. First picking a lightning strike, that would be, you know, that's when the dread starts to, starts to come in. Okay. Yeah. And then you mentioned briefly about the in pod play thing. Do you anticipate when you're watching the PT this weekend and you watch the drafts that it will not be easy for people to get blue white. Like it kind of feels like it can be on Arena. Yeah, I think that, I think that blue white is going to be, is going to be more contested than, than it would be on arena for sure. So where, where do you, where would you go? I, I, I. Let's just say you're getting some pretty strong vibes that blue, white is being fought for. What's your. What, what's your next stopping point or two on in your mind? I mean. Well, first of all, it's not even really blue white. It's white. Like, because I think white, green, and blue white are both good. And I think that you. White, black. I've actually like some of the grindy games with black white, dude. I do good with black. White. Yeah, yeah. So if white was being cut off, I, I would hopefully find blue or black as being a little bit more open. The green can be good too. I would just try to avoid red. But I mean, if you open like a red bomb, like, they take the bomb and, and go that way, like, I, I think that letting the most powerful cards in the pack kind of dictate where you go is still pretty good. Okay, well, let's do that. Right now. We're gonna jump into a contender draft to start with because those are still up, at least for. It looks like maybe 20 more hours or something like that. And I've just been doing these. I, I like these. I mean, I don't know, it just feels like you can just up the stakes a little bit if you're feeling comfortable with the format, how they have been, they've been treating you. I, I think I've ran hot in them. I think I've done six of them and I won. I trophied two of them or something. Oh. Which is. Yeah, that's quite good. That's way above. I don't know how that, how that lines up in terms of actual, like, being a, like, gem positive thing to do or whatever, but I'm curious about that too. I'm kind of just trusting that it's there, but I don't actually know if that's the case. I. Classic. You're like, oh, yeah, I've been enjoying these. I've been playing them. I was like, oh, how are they doing for you? Oh, I don't know. Yeah, well, probably fun. I feel like I've ran hot. Okay, here's our first pack. Oh, no, Luis. We opened up King t'. Challa. We're all in. All right. Well, I guess, you know, if you don't twist my hand. Yeah. Other cards in the pack. There's a Super Villain Lockup. Our other uncommons are Thirst for Knowledge, Thunderbolts, Conspiracy, and Titania Rugged Rumbler. Other cards in the pack in general, there's a Burrow Backup and a Futurist Forge in. In blue white, which is, you know, where we're kind of planting our flag here. Early green cards, nothing much to speak of. There's that Titania, but otherwise it's called damage control and restorative technique. We're not going to get. I mean, like, are we going to get back any of these blue or white cards again? Burrow Backup, Futurist Forge, Super Villain Lockup. Kind of feels like, I mean, Futurist Forge could come back. I. I would take it if it did, but yeah, I think King Tall, I mean, obviously is the Windmill Slam pick. And I would expect the next couple picks to be like Super Villain Lockup, maybe Titania if someone's in the colors. Because. Because it's a hybrid card, it can be. It goes in a lot of different decks and then burrow back up and then from there it's like, hard. Yeah. All right, pack one, pick two. There's Patri Shield Wielder. That goes well with King t' Challa already. Also tentatively in our colors, there's Speedball New Warrior, which I have not been that impressed with. There's a SHIELD Spy Kit, a Bold Biochemist, and hello, there's a Tricksters Stratagem here as well. There are black and red and green cards in this pack as well, but for us, it's between Trickster Stratagem and Patriot Shield Wielder. That's a pretty close pick, I think it is. Yeah. Color wise, I think either is fine because you took a really strong blue white card. You're. You're very heavily incentivized to play that card. But I. I would lean towards taking Patriot just because there. It's one of the best two drops there's. In the two drops, there's just not as many as you would. You would want in the format. But I'm gonna feel. You do feel pretty bad if you don't end up with some Trickster Stratagem. So this is one where, like, knowing. I mean, without knowing where the draft is going to go, it can be a little tricky. But I. I don'. Patriot here. Yeah, we'll take the Patriot. It also can protect King t' Challa potentially. All right, this next one, we. This is pack one, pick three. There's a Burrow Backup, a Bold Biochemist, and then these are in our colors. And then there's two lesser cards there. Super Suit and Panther Pounce. There's nothing really jumping out from the other colors. Either there's a Cruel alliance, which I really like. And then in green, there's an undercover scroll, which I think is pretty good. But I would just take Burrow back up here. Yeah, I don't see a reason not to do that. And I, I. Yeah, I do think that Trickster Stratum is better than Patriot, by the way. But I also think that like, yes, starting with a two drop this early. And it's nice with King t'. Challa. I don't know. I think it's close. I think what you said is true though. You know, two drops on color are at a premium. Even if Trickster Shadow Jim is better know. Overall, we'll see how it goes. We're going to take Burrow Backup. So we've got King t', Challa, Patriot, SHIELD Wielder, and Burrow Backup. Oh wow. This is a nice pack too. There is a Night Nurse, Healer of Heroes. I really like that card. There's another Burrow Backup. There's also a Helicarrier Strike. And then off color. Or maybe slightly less desirable. There's Atlantean Cavalry. Another Cruel Alliance. And then there's a Herby Scout Unit. It. I like Night Nurse here though. Yeah, just taking a little good too. Yeah. And one again. That's good with King t'. Challa. Because like, they will try to kill King t'. Challa. That's right. That's right. Yeah. I really like Night Nurse. Anytime I have Night Nurse in my hand, I'm always looking at the possible ways that I can set up protecting the next best card, you know, because the timing really does matter if it. If it were to get countered or. Or killed. Also, having two Night Nurses is really sweet. You can kind of loop them. And then the fact that they gave night nurse LifeLink is really, really nice too. Okay, next up, we've got. Let's see. A rare is Arc Reactor. We don't want that. There's Agents of SHIELD And Wakandan Drone Flock as well as AIM scientists. Now it's worth noting here, Luis, that currently we have all white cards. And then King t', Challa, which is white blue. Yeah, I. I do think that there is a possibility. And that one of the strengths of taking Patriot, for example, is that now we've ended up with three white cards and a blue card and we could easily splash King t'. Challa. That being said, I. I mean, I do think AIM Scientist is still probably the best card in this pack. I do too. But maybe do we want to take the Drone Flock and stay white. No, because AIM Scientists also isn't really even a blue card. Like, imagine that you end up white green, and you want to splash King t'. Challa. You would probably just play AIM Scientist. One island borrow backup. You wouldn't even need more at point. Sure. All right, we. We'll go for the AIM Scientist. It is the best card in the pack for us. Next up, well, there's a Helicarrier Strike. There's also a DE Power and a Beast Erudite Aerialist. And then the rare or the other uncommon is Ronin Shadow Stalker, which is the one that cares. White seems open. Just take the Helicarrier Strike. Continue on Helicarrier Strike. Sure. Yeah. I mean, that's not like crazy, but it's definitely something. Like at the pt, I would feel like, okay, that we're in a good position for White here on Arena. I'm like a little bit less confident about what's going on, just in general, because that's just, you know, that's Arena. That's right. So our pack, our. Our deck is currently Helicarrier Strike, Night Nurse, Patriot King T', Challa, AIM Scientist and Burrow Backup Pack 1, pick 7. There's a D power, an Agents of Shield and then if we want to get a little splashy, there's a Black Widow double agent. That's the 3:2 death touch that makes your alone attackers get menace and first strike. Is it crazy to want to take the green white land, though? Oh, I didn't even think about that. That's interesting. Like, I think Agents of SHIELD Are just straight up super mid replacement level or slightly below replacement level. Maybe just right at. And D power is fine, but we're not seeing a ton of blue. I would just take. And I think Black Widow is just. Okay, I would just take the green white land the plaza, and be open to that. Oh, wow. Eighth pick. You got Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. this card is. This card is great. You like this one? What about Ariel Doombot? I. I would take Nick Fury here. A one man, a two. One hero like you should just take. Keep taking the white cards. You haven't had a strong reason to be blue. And you've got a land cycler and. Sorry, two land cyclers in a green white land. I mean, you're thinking we might go for the full meal deal. Something going on there? I like how you're thinking. All right, we'll take Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and again, just also continuing to cut white. Wow, we did wheel the Burrow backup pack. Okay. White's white. White is quite open. No reason to. To. To worry about whether that's happening. And now. Now we're in such a prime position because we have awesome Blue Card 2. Now three land cyclers and a green white duel. We could take just about whatever we want. Like you open superhero civil war. There's just no shot. You're not slamming. Totally. Yeah. And we're only on pack one. Pick nine. Then we might even get a couple other decent things back here. Let's see what we get for pick 10. Okay. I got a little ahead of myself. Nothing. There's speedball, new warrior. I guess we just take Hulk Smash here. Yeah. I mean, unless you want. Which I don't think you do. No, I mean he is a hero. That's the good part. You have zero cards that target him and don't really look on pace to have like a ton. Right. I was going to. Well, I guess I'll take speed. But I mean, what if we end up with some hero thing? Look, there's a. There's a panther pounce over two black cards and a red card. No real reason to do. To. To look otherwise. I don't think. Pack one, pick 11. Panther pounce in the house again. Just also continuing to cut white. So we've got Panther pound, Helicar strike, Nick Fury, Night Nurse, Patriot King, t', Challa, Speedball aim, Scientist Burrow, backup, and then the green white dual Land Birin Sauna Plaza. We're going to take Tigra here. Yeah. Tigra feline fury. Pack one pick or pick 12. And a Rick Jones. The one man. The one man 03. Like, I mean, you just got two green cards, right? Second, you know, last second to last uncommons. Yeah. All right, let's see what we open up here in pack two, pick one. Oh, we got a mythic rare, but it's the Ten Rings, the eight mana artifact. So no, but uncommon. There's Origin of the Avengers. That's pretty solid. There's also secret Invasion. That's the one. Blue. Blue. There's Captain Marvell Spaceborn, which has been whatever. And then there's a take up the shield and a Futurist Forge. Just take origin. Yeah, for sure. Original Avengers is a very solid card. Secret invasion ends up being fine. But there's no real reason to take a double blue card here. Like I think that would be. That would be crazy. That would be pretty wild. And then do we. We'll take up the shield. Maybe Captain Marvell has been pretty mid. Right? I. I have not yeah, nothing too impressive going on there. No. But a solid pickup here with Origin of the Avengers. You know, one of the things I really like about our deck right now, Luis, is our curve. We have three ones and three twos. Taking the low. The cheap cards is. Is pretty nice for that. Yeah. Wow. We opened Aurelia the War Leader Pack two. Pick one. Monica the Marvel. That's double red, double white. If we want to go down that road, we probably don't. We've also opened up a web up as well as we save. But we just web up here, right? I think so. Like, I. I mean, I don't think taking a double red card over a great 3 mana removal spell wouldn't know. We also have so much flexibility. You know us. Agent John Walker is also qu. Good. But you should. You should clearly just take web up here. A little sad about it because Monica the Marvel or Aurelia War Leader is a very powerful card. But man, going into red is also just so like, not tempting, you know, it's like you will have that card and a couple of other decent ones. So we're going to take web up here. Next up, Uncommon, we've got Mockingbird Ace Agent. There's also Cree Commandos. Take up the shield AIM Scientist super suit and an Echo perceptive prodigy in our core blue white colors. Although we really are still heavy, heavy white and could go other directions. Yeah, this looks like a pretty easy take up the shield to me. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, because you're gonna care about. No. And Cree Commandos stinks. Somehow they found a card with three mana, flying two power, vigilance and prowess to be just bad. It's like. It's not a hero, man. They, you know, they, they, they, they just cost it a little bit. A little bit too, Too expensive, I think. Yeah, yeah. Three drop too much. All right. And the fact that it's not a hero in the color like, I, I appreciate that they're making a villain in white because that some decks will want that like black white could really like it sometimes, right? You know, with various villain paths. But I don't think it's. It just doesn't fit here. Next up, we've got a really interesting decision. So there's a Trickster Stratagem. There's also Baxter Building and we do have. That's a good point. That's a good point. Are we just supposed to take the stratagem though? I mean, there is also some thought to taking Jessica Jones here, but I would just take the Stratagem I think. Yeah. Oh, Jessica Jones. Yeah, that's interesting. I just don't think you need to get fancy. Your white is open, like, look. Now you can take a SHIELD Spy kit to go with your, like, you know, cheap creatures. And, and I think that'll work out pretty nicely. Yeah. There's also a giant size flying ant and Agent of Atlas in this pack. This is pack to pick five, by the way of our cards. We do have AIM scientists, Trickster Stratagem and King t' Challa that are blue, but all the rest are white. And that won't change here. We're taking the SHIELD Spy kit. So we're really kind of starting to pile up a lot of white cards and we could be in that weird position where we super delay our second color. It doesn't happen very often, but it does. Yeah, every once in a while. All right, next up, not a great pack. There's Agent of Atlas and Futurist Forge here. Pack two, pick six for us. Yeah, I would just take Agent of Atlas, I think. It's not like obviously loving it, but you have, you know, the SHIELD spy kit. You have Night Nurse, which promotes trading. You have Origin of the Avengers. Like, you just have, you have a lot of reasons that I think that card could be totally good. Yeah. And we've also got the Take up the Shield and the Panther Pounce, you know, for triggering prowess and maybe winning a combat you wouldn't normally. Okay, pack two, pick seven. There's a Wiccan Rising magician, which we actually passed one of those a couple of picks ago, and a giant sized flying ant in black, the Futurist Forge. Huh? Futurist forged with Wiccan is a nice little. Oh yeah, we should just take Wiccan here. Or do you like the ant better? It's actually pretty close. I, I might just take the ant here. Yeah, I think I'm just gonna take the ant. This deck looks quite assertive. Yeah, I'd rather just have a 4 drop. And because you have two burrow backups that are pretty nice to just cast on five. Yeah, for sure. Next up, we've got agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or deep power. I would take agents of S.H.I. i don't anticipate. Well, you could take D power if you think you might get speedball going. Sure, we'll take it. I, I, I agree with what you said earlier about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is just so replaceable. All right, we, we did actually wheel both Futurist Ford Forge and Captain Marvel Spaceborn. I mean, I think I'd probably just take Captain Marvell and not be like this is not a crack futurist Forge deck to look into me. No, we want to. We want to be playing things to the board with a deck like this. And even though future is Forge is fine and is actually kind of overperformed its. Its role, it's still not there. And then we did wield the other Wiccan, by the way. All right, sure. Yeah. Take what can we have the option to do that even if we're probably not going to? So this is pack two, pick 10. And we're going to take Wiccan Rising Magician, the 5 Mana 44 flyer that blinks things. And then we got Super Suit pack two, pick a lot. Sure. Over to Creek Commandos is the other option which are unsurprisingly still here. Also one toughness on three mana for a creature is a little rough. And then Thirst for Knowledge. I have not been playing Thirst for Knowledge unless I can do the artifact thing reliably. Yeah, I mean you can take it here because it's free, but it's not a. It's not a card that, that you're usually going to want to play, I don't think. All right. Blazing Crescendo. Crescendo is our last pick. So right now the ones we have Helicarrier Strike, Nick Fury, Panther Pounce and SHIELD Spy Kit. Twos are Agent of Atlas, Night Nurse, Origin of the Avengers, Patriot SHIELD Wielder Take up the shield and Super Suit Threes are web up D Power. I'm gonna put Thirst for Knowledge in the board for now. King t' Challa Speedball Fours are AIM Scientist Giant Size Flying Ant, Trickster Stratagem Fives are two Burrow Backup Captain Marvell Spaceborn and a Wiccan Rising Magician. Pack three, pick one. World War Hulk is the is the rare for us. There's a We say the nay, a helicarrier Strike and an echo. Yeah, we're taking we say the nay for sure. Oh, show. It's just the easiest pick here. It's funny that we have the opportunity to splash and this honestly is also what happens in this format is I will frequently have the ability to splash and just not end up wanting to do so because that happens to me too. Cards make me want to splash, but not many of the not gold cards do that. Agent 13 Sharon Carter. There's also Murdoch's Crusade here and there's an Atlanta Crusade is really funny because it's like, you know, how good is that card? Well, it didn't look that good to me. And it ends up being one of the best. Like, the best white common after hero training, I guess. Right. So, yeah, I mean, I still lean towards agent 13, Sharon Carter. Like, I really like this card, but would you just take the crusade over it here? I would take Murdoch's crusade. Yeah. I think. Sorry, Sharon, I just think that I. It's just too good at answering the things that. That cause you issues. It really is. It is incredible. And in the whole tempo game that we talk about a lot, it's. It's the king. Okay, now we have us Agent John Walker. Or a second. We say the nay. Or we could take a brave brawler. Do we just take the. We say the nay here? Let's see. Yeah, yeah, we say the nay is pretty great. Yeah, I think that's it. I was really saying I would take. I think I would take us Asian over to brawler just because you're doing pretty well on low drops. Yeah, but agreed. But I think a second. We say the name now, though, after taking Murdoch's crusade into we say the name. Well, actually, as we say the name into Murdoch's Crusade into another we say the name. We. We should be prioritizing creatures for the rest of. Or a little bit more for the rest of the pack. You're totally right. And we are. We are at 10 creatures, so we do need to. Oh, man. That being said, Luis, we just got political triumph, which I do want to take still. Yeah, I would take political triumph here and now. And now we have to. We have to basically take all creatures. Yeah, there's an agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and an agent of Atlas in this pack. And actually, based on what we've seen this draft, we have a good chance to wheel one of them. Probably just the Agents of SHIELD Will come back. This is pack three, pick four. These are good picks, though, for us. Not, you know, bombs like our. We. We. Our best card is. Still. Our pack is pretty good. Definitely. And look, now we got a super villain lockup. So I guess. I guess we're still on taking spells here. I mean, how. What's our creature count right now? Just. Just. I think it's 10. Yeah, it is. Okay, well, we would like to get up a little higher than that, so let's. Well, I'm gonna take Supervillain lock up over Baxter Building. Even though it. It does get Nick Fury going, I don't think we have that many creatures that actually get to that 4 toughness range. And super villain lockups very strong. Yeah. Still, the pick Here. Like hopefully we can just. Yeah, look. Now there's a Patriot shield wielder. A second one. The fact that Ledger is not a big deal over a helicarrier strike. I think that's pretty easy. Yeah. There's also a bold biochemist in the pack that if this Patriot wasn't here, we would take it over the helicarrier strike. But we got a little lucky here and get our second copy of Patriot Shield Wielder Pack 3 Pick 6. So that's nice. Yeah. I mean that, that, that definitely helps. Hopefully we can get a little bit more. Yeah, just a little bit more. Oh, Super Scroll. That's one of my favorite cards in the whole set. Super scroll is very cool for sure. Yeah. There's Luke Cage Power man which is disappointed. There's Falcon's wings. Falcon's wing harness which is quite strong but kind of goes against the grain of what we need. Yeah, we. I don't. I don't think we can do. Did we just take Luke Cage? I think so. I don't think. We definitely cannot take the wings. That's. No, that's out of the question. Okay. Well I mean this is. I. There's a gleaming bastion. That's the blue light. Rare land. Definitely take that over Wiccan and pan. Okay. I wanted to take it but I mean we do need creatures. We could take our second Wiccan. But no, I. A dual land here just seems so clutch. We'll be fine. We just are gonna have to cut like. Like there's just no shot. For example, that D power is going to end up in our deck, you know. Right, right, right. And as you say that we get shipped a pack 3 pick 9D power. There's a Black Widow of Vibranium energy daggers. I'll just take Black widow. Whatever. Pack 3 pick 10. Oh man. Two very mid creatures came back. Crowd of True Believers and Mockingbird Ace Agent. Bird. I guess. Yeah. At least it has I don't think chance to be relevant. I don't think crowded True Believers is particularly a card. I mean you might end up playing speedball in this deck just to get another free trail. I don't want to. It's in there now. But I'm like. Yeah, but you have some cuts to make. For sure. For sure. We're gonna get a pack three pick 11 nothing. It's a heroic feast. Atlantis attacks pack three pick. I mean maybe we're blue white on the more controlling side now. And we're taking it. There's nothing else in the pack for Us. And then there's Project Deathlock Soldier and a super strength to round out our pack. 3. So what are we looking at here? Big picture. We have 13 creatures as the deck stands, but we're at 47 cards. And it's worth noting, Luis, that we do have two Burrow Backup which aren't showing up in the creature count, but are very much our creatures. Yeah, yeah, they, they, they. They definitely count. We have a bunch of cards. 15. Yeah. So if we start at the ones we've got. Helicarrier Strike, Nick Fury, Panther Pouch, which I would cut. Yeah, it would be nice to just cut Speedball cut and cut all the. The. The. Any. Any combat tricks and really any extraneous spells at this point. Yeah, like I want to cut. Super suit, do you want to cut? Take up the shield. I still like it. Is it. No. Take up the shield. Is. Is definitely fine. Okay, what about SHIELD Spike it with a. It's very good. Yeah. Not to cut it. All right, I'm cutting D power. Definitely cut D power. So we've got Luke Cage, Mockingbird Aim Scientist Giant Size Flying Ad and Trickster Stratagem at 4 and then at 5. Yeah, this is too many fives. I mean, 24s and fives. Too many fours or five wicken. Captain Marvel Double Burrow back up and then Atlantis attacks at seven. We need to cut three cards from this, by the way. I'm kind of inclined to just go like cut Atlantis Attacks, cut Wicken and then maybe cut like. How many creatures is this right now? Just like 13. 11. 11. Yeah. Well, I don't. It's 13 with the double Burrow backup. Maybe just cut the Mockingbird. I. I think is good enough that I wouldn't want to cut it. Mockingbird is just whatever. It doesn't do anything. So I think that's probably what I would do. Okay. You also have the option of playing one more spell and playing one fewer Land. Yeah. Because we do have what, triple three Land Cyclers. You also have a lot of two drops that you'd rather just be casting. I think so too. And also casting the borrow backups is. Is just good in general. Yeah, I mean, I prefer to do that. Okay, let's go with this then. So here's our final deck. It is Helicarrier Strike, Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD Political Triumph and SHIELD Spy Kit. I do wonder if we should kill the kit for one more creature though, with the Triumph in here. What do you think about that? What would the creature be? It'd be. It'd be Mockingbird or speedball. Yeah, that's really other option you can do maybe is go put in speedball, cut spy kit, cut a land and play a panther pounce. But panther pounce is just not. It's playing panther pounds over the spy kit. Doesn't sound very good to me. No, I agree. You could also just play the spy kit and just cut a land. Just play 16 lands. Yeah, maybe we'll just do that. We have a low curve and lots of three ways to search up land, so we can probably just get away with both. This has speedball though. Yeah, I don't want to play speedball. I don't either. I would just play another land. I would just. I would just bite the bullet and you just. Okay, you're playing. Well, you're like one less creature than. Than ideal. Probably something along those lines. Yeah. We're at 12. Okay. So once again, Helicarrier Strike. Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. political Triumph and S.H.I.ELL spy kit at the one twos are agent of Atlas Murdoch's Crusade, Night Nurse, Origin of the Avengers Patriot SHIELD wielder, Super Villain Lockup. Take up the shield and double. We say the nay. Threes are Web up and King t'. Challa. Fours are Luke Cage, Power Man AIM Scientists Giant size flying ant Trickster Stratagem Fives are Double Burrow Backup and a Captain Marvell Spaceborne. And then we've got eight planes, eight islands and a gleaming bastion which is actually the rare dual land, not the. Not the gain land. Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, I agree. We've got King t'. Challa. What could possibly go wrong? It's not the best, but white was open. It. It kind of feels like this deck's a little worse than it should have been for how open White seemed to be. Agree especially with like things wheeling and getting coming late. But it's. It's always hard to tell. You never really know what's going on with those. That sort of thing, you know? No, and even if you do end up figuring it out, it's only in retrospect that you go, oh, now I know what was actually happening. Okay, let's jump into a premier draft beyond the crack A pack. Oh yeah, the premiere draft. Let's see what we get here. All right. Pack one. Pick one. Ooh, this. This is. I like where this is going. Oh, spicy. The coming of Galactus. This is the green black mythic. There's some nice stuff in this pack. That there's a koe. There's also Dark Deed, Repulsor Blast down there. But I. I never get to just go off with this. And I. I think I want to do like some sweet coming of Galactus deck here. Yeah, I mean certainly it's the most interesting place to start. I. I think it's also better than taking a koya or dark deed. It, you know, it's pretty committal, but it is, it is definitely strong. So I don't mind it. Yeah. And you know, one of the things that you mentioned when I asked you about the format in general, and it's something that's lined up with me as well, is that I. I have been much more willing to try to get some splashes going especially for gold cards. So you know, if we end up being green, green black like this card is, then we could look to reach out for a third color, potentially because of green. Yeah. And I like. I like keeping my mind open in that way. So Coming of Galactus first. Next up, Echo. Death to our enemies. Hercules. Black Widow. Helicarrier strike. Ninja of the hand. There's a red green gain land. There's Herbie. Pretty weak pack. It's definitely a weak pack. I. My question is, how crazy is it to take like a land here like the rare land? So the rare land is hidden layer which is the blue black. I don't think it's crazy. It basically be saying we intend on playing like a kind of like three to five color deck which I think starting with Coming Galactus. That's actually kind of legit thing to do. Alternately you could take like Hercules or something like that and just you know, do some, do some attacking or take a green black land or take Herbie. But I would kind of spec on the land here. I don't know, maybe that's crazy. But I have found that you can. You can draft some kind of sweet decks. I mean I just am not happy with any of the picks. So let's just do something weird. We'll take hidden layer here and just see if we can can make a spicy brew. Okay, next up we've got Robot Domination. That's the one that gets you a card back when your creatures are put in the graveyard from anywhere. And then eventually becomes three, two, two creatures. There's Hulkling, Burgeoning Bruiser. There's us Agent John Walker. What else do we got here? There's another dual land. Yeah, I. I think I would just take John Walker. Yeah. Coming up to Galactus as double black. You're gonna want. You could also take the whole the Hulkling if you wanted. Because it's a 3 drop. Yeah, I think I would take either of those cards. I'll take the whole clean then, I guess, I guess like at least it's a. If you're taking hulking, you're committing to being a little bit more green, which I think is, is fine. Whereas John Walker keeps you a little more flexible because coming Galactus is double black. But I, I think I'll take Walker then. I do want to stay flexible here. I, I do value that. Right. Well, there's a decent black card in this pack, so that worked out somewhat nicely. Yeah, we got a hour of defeat here. There's also Castle Doom, Ninja of the Hand, Ghost Spectral Saboteur. There's also, I mean there's been a lot of lands. Like we might actually get a couple back. There's a PIM Technologies and a Castle Doom in this pack as well. But yeah, we'll take hour of def. Hour of defeat. A really nice setup. Yeah. For the company. I like that. Right now we have three block cards and a blue block land. I mean, one of the black cards is black green. But it's only one green mana. You can splash that off land cyclers without too much trouble. This is an interesting star. This is definitely not Hero in training. Yeah, you know, opener. And interestingly, the we have not seen those. You know, I would have called it out if we saw white or blue cards coming around. We haven't yet. Pack one, pick five. Baron Strucker, Hydra Overlord. There's an Avengers Tower of all things restorative technique. I mean, Avengers Tower is very strong, but is we don't have a good start. I guess US Agent is a US Agent is a thing. But our colors are not going to lend us down that road very well, are they? I, I think you have three options here. You can take Avengers Tower. See how that goes. You can take the white green land, which probably worse than taking Avengers Tower. And you can take Baron Strucker because you're heavy black so far. And look for some villains. I mean, Baron Strucker is a powerful card. I guess we'll do that. I, I, you know, there's such a temptation to not go down the villain route just because. Yeah, you know, but, but man, Baron Strucker is really strong. Like I have won a lot of games with that card. It's usually paired with white to be fair, but still. Okay, pack one, pick six. Two Evil to stay Dead Aerial Doombot Roxxon Brutes. Hulk Smash Repulsor Blast Restorative technique and a dependable Quinjet My inclination would be to just take the Roxxon Brutes. It keeps you. It's a villain and a land cycler and it's a black card. Repulsor blast is just pretty mid. I don't think black wants to splash removal that badly. And then restorative technique. I. I haven't really. I find that that's one of the weaker ways to do that. As opposed to. As opposed to just playing like good lands and whatnot. It's pretty bad. Pack one, pick seven. There is another Hulkling here. There's also an Agents of Hydra and a Cree Sentinel. I really don't want to take Agents of Hydra, but we do need two. Agents of Hydra is just such a bad card. It's so bad. What about Hulkling? I think I might just take the white black land. Oh, the land. Oh, that's interesting. I like that. Just keep. Keep cooking. I don't know. I. Yeah, these are. Some of these picks are enticing, you know. Yeah, it certainly doesn't always work out, but staying flexible here and looking for a good card I think is a pretty reasonable way to do things. Well, we could continue to do so. We could either take Ninja of the hand or we could take subterranean cavern, which is the black green land. Which you know, goes nicely with coming of Galactus. It also means that we could look at pairing black with something other than green and still play Coming of Galactus, which is. Yeah, I would. I would just take the land like you. You're only committed to black now with the. With already enough fixing to splash Coming of Galactus in your black deck. And whatever good cards you see, you can. You can pick up. You do obviously need to pick up some. Some stuff that does things. But look here, for example. This pack has three mediocre red cards, a giant growth and a pet Avengers. I would just take pet Avengers. Like yeah, for sure. You could definitely end up there. I mean there's. It's hard to say. Pack one, pick nine. By the way, Pet Adventures. We've got a really rough curve right now. Baron Struckers are lowest spell at three mana. Then we've got hour of defeat, US Agent John Walker, Roxxon Brutes and the coming of Galactus. And three dual Lands. So we're kind of doing the thing. Pack one, pick ten. Hercules, Prince of Power or ninja of the hand. I guess we just take the ninja here. Oh no, no. Take. Take Hercules. Take Hercules. You like Hercules. You just got a late pet Avengers and a late Hercules. Like sure, you could. You could totally Just be a green deck. Like this is like here. Maybe it hurts a little that we took some lands over Hulklings, but I think it might still end up fine. And now there's a knight of Wonder Gore and a bunch of a red card, a blue card that you're not playing at all. Like medium Iron man and the lava villain. So we opened coming of Galactus and we're black green like that. That is a story. Well, we opened coming of Galactus. We stayed flexible. Green cards are wheel. I'm not saying these are the most exciting in the world, but if a bunch of green cards wheel, then yeah, I think it's worth. It's worth keeping keeping an eye out for that. Pack one, pick 12 was all red cards. By the way, it looks like the premier drafters have figured it out. Yes. I'm not surprised. I think they're all the same draft pool. Now there's a Hydra Troopers, which you're not really that excited about, but you know, could be something. Yeah, I mean, it is a villain for our Baron Strucker build. And then we got too evil to stay dead. Last pick. Unfortunately, where it goes. Okay, pack two, pick one. Something great. No, it's another too evil to stay dead and a heroic feast. Wow, this is quite rough. There's a Captain America living legend, which is awesome. Awesome. But not even. It's two full colors away from where we're at. Unliving Legionnaire, a savage land dinosaur. Are we taking Savage land dinosaur here? Pack to pick one. I. That's. I think that's what we're looking at. It's pretty grim, but what are you going to do? Yeah, Reptile. Reptile Dino Morpher is here, which hasn't proven to be super great. No, no. I would just take savage land dinosaur. I mean, it's that. Or take like Trickster Stratagem, which is also a totally legit thing. You have a blue black land. You have a land cycler. Like. Okay, I'm taking the tricker strategy. Okay, well, you took a lot of convincing on that one. Huh? You mentioned the name. Hey, we got immediately rewarded. We got the wondrous wasp. Yeah, that's a great card to splash. Just play. Play that. Also, keep in mind, we don't have to be green. We. We got those green cards all the wheel. I think it's worth keeping an eye out for that. But like, if we had to ditch green, we could just ditch green. So you got to stay flexible when you're drafting these decks. Totally. And interestingly, pack two, pick two. Here we're taking the wondrous wasps. But there is another subterranean cavern that could come back pretty easily. And if we ended up being more fully committed to green, we could get a hellcat undying vigilante. But that would mean being green. Green. But yeah, the subterranean cavern getting two of those. And let's say we end up being black blue, and then we splash the coming of Galactus. That all works out too. But wondrous wasp is a nice pickup for us, especially because it's cheap and we're not currently doing very well as far as curve. That card's been actually good in cube. So. Has it really? Yeah. Really impressive card. Okay, pack two, pick three. There's World War Hulk. There's another Hulkling. There's a Kang Temporal Tyrant. But I'm just looking at this widow's bite here. Yeah, yeah, I think for sure you just want to take widow's bite. We. Our curve is low and our removals lacking a little bit here. So this is a checking two boxes at once type pick. If we get back the King Temple, black is the color we're most tightly tied to. So it's just not bad to have have good options there. Yeah, that's one thing to keep in mind, especially when it comes to, like, tiebreakers. This one isn't. This is like a more obvious. Like, this is Widow Spite is definitely what we want. But when it does come down to tiebreakers, oftentimes it's what color am I more committed to at the moment that can break it? Yeah. See? And I. Oh, well. Okay. So pack two, pick four. There's a Spider Woman secret agent, which I really, really like. And I was going to say let's take that and continue our blue. But we also got an hour of defeat in our core color, and I think I would rather just take that. What do you think, Louise? You don't have any payoffs for playing Spider Woman? I really like that card. But no hero pass or anything? No. Yeah, you do have the equipment from John Walker. I think taking our defeat is fine. It's just so hard to turn down a really solid black playable, you know, y at this point. Okay, pack to pick five. More curve issues here. There's Mr. Fantastic, Grim Reaper, Hydra, Infiltration, Punishing Punch Case we end up bunch either green or all three colors. Yeah, I mean, you did just take another black card. So you're like, not. You don't really make tokens for Mr. Fantastic. No. Yeah, I guess punishing punch is okay. And if we splash for wasp and Trickster stratagem. Sure. Yeah. Yeah, that could definitely happen. Okay, look, that was a killmonger. The. The scourge of Wakanda. So that's the black green two three three. You can sack a creature to destroy an online permanent. So yeah, and they should have put the 33 in like air quotes because it's almost always a 5 4. True, true. But they, they kept it legit. 33 on the front. So this is good. I mean, once again leaning us back towards being black green and then maybe just splashing the blue rather than blue black with a splash of green. Our green is just. Okay, right. That. That's the. The thing that we're contending with is that we don't have anything really great in green. No, but you have a decent amount of reasons to be it though. Yeah, we have a decent. This pack is going to put us to the test a bit. Yeah. So we got a shield deployment drone in blue. Or we can just kind of punt and take a gorilla. Gorilla or another Hercules or a Roxxon Brutes. We have one Roxon Brutes already. I think I'll just take the shield deployment. I think so too. I. I think we can just be the three. I'm not convinced we're going to be green here either. Like we're gonna splash, maybe kill coming of Galactus, but we don't need to play a lot of these green cards. And here we pick up an AIM scientist over a whiplash and Wakandan Royal Guard. I think that's an easy pick. Definitely. And it's another lean towards potentially blue black with a little bit of green rather than the green. We do have a. A decent number of green cards, you know, straight up green cards. We have like four of them. Here's our wheel pack. Pack two, pick nine. There's an unliving Legionnaire, a HYDRA infiltration and a Too evil to stay dead, which we already have one of in our board. There's also an Atlantean cavalry. Yeah, I. This is kind of a. Whatever pick I'm gonna take, I guess. Legionnaire. Yeah, that seems fine to me. I don't think you want outlanding cavalry or two. You'll stay dead. Yep. Now the hellcat came back. All right. I would just take it. Look, we're. We're bouncing around a little bit, but I think that's fine because I think we have black for providing removal in our most powerful cards. And then we're probably the most likely scenario here is that we play green black base splash. A Couple blue cards. Look, a hulkling came back. Like, do you like that better than world war Hulk? Yeah. This is not a world war Hulk deck, I don't think. Yeah, we don't have red or green creatures. That many of them. You don't care about pumping them. Yeah, no, that's not close. Okay. And then there's a powerful broker over nothing. Over nothing. But yeah, you know, maybe a little bit of a splash here in the blue. Yeah, we're gonna have plenty of cards. I think, I think, I think it's gonna work out fine. And then we pick up a hydra infiltration to round out. Well, this is actually second to last pick for pack two. Probably won't make the cup, but it might. Okay, pack three. Pick one. Something. Great. Well, our rare is taskmaster Mercenary mimic, which is a good card. There's also though, a kazar of the savage land down here. Here. That's what definitely what I would take here. You like Bazar? Yeah, I think it's awesome. I think. And I think it's going to play really nicely in this deck. This is not a fast deck. This is a, you know. Yeah, a. This is going to end up being a kind of a controlling deck. So Kazar is. It's going to be really good for you. Now we could wheel something nice out of this pack. There's the taskmaster, if nobody wants it. There's also hellcat rocks on brutes and savage land dinosaur. And I think we do want one more of that type of card. Like, I'd love it if that dinosaur came back. Yeah, I, I, I think that wheeling one of those cards. Hell, whether it's Hellcat, Dinosaur, Roxon, Brute, seems pretty, pretty likely. Okay. Oh, nice. Pack three, pick two. We get another shot at it. Luis, it's another taskmaster. Alternatively, we could go for a third copy of hour of defeat. There's also the thing. Ben Grim, a robot domination. A gorilla Gorilla and a serpent specialists, as well as a Herbie. This is the one that becomes the best. The copy of the best thing on the board or in the yard, right? Yeah, but it's not like amazing. It's fine. Is it crazy to consider the gorilla here, or should you just take the hour of defeat? I don't think I would take taskmaster. I think I just supposed to take hour of defeat still. Yeah, that's probably fine. You just have so many fours. I know the fours are too much, but I'm gonna cut a few of them. Like we're not going to play hydra. I kind of Feel like you should just take the gorilla there. Honestly. Oh, it's your favorite card. We'll get it back. Don't worry. What? Oh. Earth's Mightiest heroes. Let's take it. It's really great, right? Isn't it awesome? It is a great card. You don't have the most creatures, but, you know, I think you can. You could. You can get it. You can get it going. I mean, because really, it's. It's that or like I'm taking a kind of mediocre two drop. I mean, yeah, I would take probably a Red Room recruit or a Tigra. Yeah. But let's just go big or go home. We're going to take Earth. Well, now that you've taken our smite as heroes, you really should prioritize taking. Yeah. Features. It's funny how we ended up here again. Yes, we did. Funny how that works out. All right, there's Avengers Tower. There's Ant Man. This is a colony. Commander. The three Drop one. There's Madame Hydra. There's Madam Hydra. I wasn't going to mention it. I mean, I think Antman actually looks like it could be kind of decent here, right? I mean, we are these three colors, but you. You want creatures to sack to killmonger. Yeah, it's good with our. I mean, it's okay. Our card is kind of underperformed for sure, but Ant Man's been kind of mid. But. Yeah. I don't know. I think Avengers Tower is looking amazing here either though. No, it's not. So PAC 3 5. The thing is good, but are we supposed to take AIM synthoids here? No, you take the thing. It's just so good at thirst. Mighty's heroes. Like that is the kind of card you want. Okay. On either. On either end. You know, you've convinced me to take another six. Nice. The sixes combine well though. They do. We've definitely got that part of the the deck sorted out. Maybe we'll wheel and aim synthoids or something. Because we do need a couple more too. The dream. Yeah. The absolute dream. Oh, boy. Next up. Oh, man. I guess we just take AIM Labs. It's pack three pick six. There's another Hercules. There is an Agents of Hydra. But AIM Labs would be really nice here, right? Yeah, it would be Hercules or Agents of or sorry, the land for me here. I would not take Agents of Hydra. Even though we need twos. It's just such a bad too. It's just not a good two. Just take the land. Speed. Bump it. I'm taking the land. Yes. But I think I. I strive not to play agents of hydra. That is. That is cruel alliance. Pack three, picks. Seven. Another removable spell's not bad. That's a good one. There's no twos here for us either, by the way. I'm very much on the road. We're gonna get that Hellcat back, though, thing. That's right. So we'll have two of them. Two double green. Really nice with killmonger. Yes. Yeah, really good. All right. Cruel alliance, pack three, pick eight. This is right before the wheel. Well, there's a decoy ploy, and there's a knight of Wundagor. I. I actually don't mind decoy ploy because you have the wondrous wasp. It's really nice. And you also have eight villains, nine heroes. Right. We'll take it. Seems. Seems legit. Yeah. Night of Unicore is just so bad in decks like this. Oh, no. Pack three, pick nine. We wield nothing, I guess. Unless we want Atlantis attacks. I would rather take the giant sized flying ant over. Over that, I think. Sure. Because we need more force. Right. That's. That is why. All right. We did actually wheel one of the taskmasters here. We also just take the serpent specialist. I was just gonna say we could be adults and take the serpent specialist. Oh, man. We wield the gold rare. And we can't even take it because we were so flagrant with our picks. By the way, this pack is all us. It also had the thing there as well. Pack three, pick 11. Nothing. I'm just not that sad about not getting to take a taskmaster. And like, the one drop is still pretty good. I don't know. That's cool. Pack three, pick 12. Wakandan Royal Guard or Hydra troopers. Not really relevant. Which one we take. I'll just take the troopers, I guess. We already have one of those. And then we did get pack three, pick 13. Visions of villainy. That's the card draw for black. Okay, what kind of a pile do we have here? Let's see if we can take this lump of clay and turn it into a Masterpiece. We have 50 cards currently in our. In our pile. There are the plates. Well, go on, go on. Well, I was just gonna say that we've got some curve issues, let's say, among other things. Sure. Yeah. We've got a lot of four drops, to say the least. Where do you want me to start attacking here? We've got 21 creatures, so obviously we need to lose a bunch of those as well. Well, I think we can start by cutting like some of the. The weaker cards. Just in general. Like the Hydra troopers. HYDRA infiltration. Unlivingly Legionnaire. I mean, I think Baron Strucker is not going to end up working out in this. Right? This is not that kind of deck. So that's five cards down. Knight of Wundagor. Even though we need twos. Can I just cut it? Yeah, probably. It's just so mediocre and visions of villainy and powerful Broker. Visions of villainy and powerful Broker. Yep, those are bad. Okay, now we're down giant size flying ant. Yeah, because you're cutting blue cards and the. We need to get. We need one more cut here. We need a really. I guess this could technically be here. The AIM scientist is. Yes, more like a two drum Pet Avengers. John Walker. All right, so let me read what we've got. We've got one cut to do here, so our one draw. Probably Antman Colony Commander. Oh yeah, for sure. I'll just cut it. Okay, so here's what we're looking at now. See if there's anything that we need to change. We've got a Serpent specialist at one. Two drops a little bit rough. We've got the Wondrous Wasp. We've got Decoy Ploy. We've got Widow's Bite. That's a good one. And then we somehow have Double Green Hellcat, Undying Vigilante here at the three. We've got SHIELD Deployment Drone, Cruel Alliance, Hercules, Prince of Power, Hulkling, Burgeoning Bruiser and A Punishing Punch Fours. We have AIM Scientists, which we're probably going to end up playing at the 2 Mana slot more often than not. Then we've got Trickster Stratagem and yes, three hour of defeat. So if we can get to this point, we can start killing their stuff and maybe push. Push us to our pretty powerful late game. We've also got Pet Avengers. US Agent John Walker and Killmonger, Scourge of Wakanda. Fives. Rocks on Brutes. So that can also be a 2. Kazar and the coming of Galactus. And we've got some hammers here. Yeah, those are some good ones. And then we've got the Thing. Ben Grimm and Earth. Earth's Mightiest Heroes at six. Now for lands. I'm going to cut Fisk Tower. But we have AIM Labs and Hidden Layer. Those are both blue black duals. And a subterranean cavern, which we didn't wheel that other one sadly. But our mana actually looks pretty good for a straight up three color deck here. I think the mana is actually not going to be a big issue with the deck. I think the slowness of the deck is probably the biggest issue. That's the issue for sure. If our mana hits, you know, we can do some things, but we just have so much air in the early portions of the game, and that's a death knell. I mean, that's really tough. If we're, you know, basic land cycling aim scientists on two, that's already a setback. If I'm staring down at decoy Ploy and an uncastable hellcat undying vigilante on two, like, these are very plausible scenarios. And our curve is a little bit Right rough too. So I think this deck is going to have a hard time, you know, getting into the upper wins, but when it does win, it's going to be really sweet. I think that's how it's going to play out. Yeah. What would you give it? Like, what grade would you give it? Six and a half out of ten. Yeah, that's. That's kind of what I was thinking. There's some cool stuff here, but it. It could be. It could be a rough one. Okay, well, there are two drafts for the set. I'm feeling pretty comfortable with the set these days, and it's more or less lining up with what I was thinking in week one when we talked about it, which is that it feels safe. You know, a couple of things missed. The color balance is off a bit. And like, some of the things that they reached for, like some of the artifacts and stuff like that didn't really come together in a. In a great way. Every once in a while they do, but it felt like they wanted those to be more baseline archetype rather than every once in a while archetype. But that's kind of feels like where they landed. But that being said, it's fine. The set's totally fine. I. I don't have any major complaints about it, you know, outside of that color balance issue. And, you know, I think that when we sit down to do the draft at the pt, people are going to have to be prepared. Like, you cannot just rely on blue white saving the day for you every single time. You are going to absolutely have to know how to draft some of the other decks, because once a archetype gets hotly contested, you got a battle. I do think that some of the decks we're going to see at the pt, though, are going to be pretty scrappy. I think that. I think that the PT is going to be a Mix of tables where someone got to corner one of those colors, like blue whites particular, ended up with like a really great deck. They're going to sweep the table. Like, it just. They opened a good white rare and to everyone around them, open like rares in other colors or for whatever reason didn't go into white. And like, you're just, you know, one of those blessed drafts, right? Yeah. Where you're, you're wheeling things and you're just like, it's. It's one of those drafts where you're like eagerly anticipating opening pack three because your deck's already sick and you're just like seeing how much better it can get as opposed to pre rolling the one where like, oh my God, I need. It's like six cards out of pack three that are like this to fill these specific holes. And if I don't get them, this deck's going to really struggle. So I, I think that it's always interesting to see what the overall power level a table is when you follow it at the PT, where it's like, sometimes, you know, the 3O deck is like, this deck's awesome and it's playing another awesome deck in the finals. And sometimes it's like no one has a good deck and someone's going to scrap it out with a three color, you know, multiple bomb masterpiece. And. And yeah, it can be really fun to see how that goes. Yeah. Because on that spectrum that you just put out where you're in the hashtag bless seed versus the. You know, I need six playables. You know, the normal PT draft leans much more towards the. I need these playables. Like, I need a. I need a little help here. It's not that common that those come together, but it does. I have that same feeling you do, Luis, that like this particular setup of a format lends itself to every once in a while somebody really getting hooked up. Because the ceiling is so high. Right. I mean, it is so much higher. Especially if you get lucky and you get a couple of nice rares in there too. It just becomes absolutely absurd. You know what you can do when you're playing against somebody who's like, hey, I've got a pretty solid red black deck. It's like, well, you don't, you know, because I have a mediocre blue white and my deck's just better. And. And if somebody hits the top end of that, it gets even more ridiculous. We're going to be drafting on Friday, by the way, from Amsterdam. Paul and I will be in the booth and then as we mentioned before, you know, this. This event has something very special to it, which is that the top eight is going to be decided by booster draft. And that is really, really cool. The rest of the rounds are modern, by the way, so if you're. If you're a modern fan, you. You'll get a chance to see some of that too. But, man, I. When I saw that Luis, I was like, I have to be there, you know, to. To call the draft, the top eight draft. I just, like, that's kind of the dream, right? I mean, the dream dream is the limited championship next year. But this is like right up there, you know, a top eight draft for the PT. Yeah, I mean, I. I haven't participated in a PT top eight draft since PT Nagoya in, like 2011, I think is the last time. Yeah, because. Because. And that was before my time actually commentating as well, right? Yeah, that was about. As the year before you. You actually started. You started in about 2012. Yeah, that's right. I think was your first. Your first coverage gig. Yeah, totally. I drafted a bad deck. I was really bad at draft that, like, straight up. And I was getting mostly carried on. On good. Good gameplay mechanics. And my. My top eight, I didn't do a good job drafting, and I got murdered. So that did happen. So justice was served. All right, well, let's call it a show there, Luis. A little bit of a shorter one this time, but we wanted to get our Marvel Superheroes draft walkthrough out the door so people can kind of see how we're approaching the format as of right now, and I think, you know, starting to get more solidified. I don't anticipate any big seismic seismic changes down the line. If you want to find us on social media, I am marshalllr and Luis is lsv. We'll see you next week. What were we talking about? Losing my mind. What were we. We were talking about something right before the Show. Yeah. What was like, oh, I'm gonna do my sign off about that. And now I'm like, producer Jeff, save us. What were we talking about? It was something funny. It was. We're losing that. We're losing our touch. Louise. I totally. I. I literally said, like, oh, I want to talk about that in the sign off. Totally. Now I'm just like, like, oh, my God. Producer Jeff doesn't know either. And Jeff. Jeff won't come in and save us. This is brutal. Our savior is not arriving. What was it we were talking about? Something about traveling or something, Right? Europe or. Oh, I know, exactly. Yep. You nailed it. Okay. We were talking about how you kick things off by asking when should you go to the airport? And I used to be pretty aggressive at how late I go. And here's a good example of that is this is before Pro2 or a grand Prix in, like, Omaha or something. We. We actually roomed together. We were doing coverage, and me, Matt Nass, and Sam Pardee were all going to the Grand Prix, and they were at the airport watching me draft on Twitch because I was streaming a draft from. From my condo while they were at the boarding gate waiting for the flight to start boarding. And Matt Nass, of course, is, like, freaking out because that's Matt Nass. And he's like, are you coming? Are you gonna get on the flight? I'm like, yeah, yeah, I'll be there. Don't worry. I've timed this out. I finished the draft. I went 2, 1. I don't even think I threw it. I asked those guys if they could grab some Chick Fil a for me, which they. They did. And I rolled in the last, you know, probably five people to board the flight. Grabbed the Chick Fil A and got to my seat. It was just like, I don't even do that anymore because with the advent of smartphones, and it's not like I didn't have one then, but, like, as more and more things, you know, are just kind of optimized for mobile experiences, I. You could just go to the airport and don't. Don't miss your flight like it used to. I used to actually believe that if you didn't miss any flights, you were going too early to the airport because, like, you're. You. You. You didn't need to be that conservative. But now it's like, it doesn't. There's no real. You're not really getting much of an advantage out of doing that. So I, I. I actually play a little bit more conservatively. Than I used to. But it was funny seeing how exactly how far you could push the envelope. Ben s on the wrong side of the equation. He missed a lot of flights, but even he. Even Ben doesn't do that anymore. So I think. I think with the changing times, it's a little less exciting, but I think you should supposed to miss less flights now.
