Foreign. What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Limited resources. This episode, number 870. My name is Marshall. I'm one of your limited resources. And joining me on the line all the way from Denver, Colorado, it's Luis Scott Vargas. Luis, are we lacroixing or spin drifting today? Those are your. I'm a spindrift, you know, enthusiast through and through. I. I wonder what percent globally I have, what my consumption of spindrift is like. Even of the, like, I'm probably in the top like 5% of people who have drunk spindrift. Like, Yu-Gi-Oh that's impressive because they sell that at like Costco. Like, this is like a widely distributed. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm sure you. No, no. If you want to talk about household, then I would say probably closer to top 1% or something because I've got. It's actually, it's actually funny. The twins are very close to getting into the spindrift bracket. The other kids love it. And, and we do too because it's like we don't give them like juice or whatever. So like we're sparkling water, you know, as like a special drink is as opposed to just water or milk. Sounds fine. So, so what that means is right now we have four people in our house drinking spindrift and soon to be six. Oh, geez. Yu-Gi-Oh So you really. Yu-Gi-Oh I drink a fair bit of it too. Stuff. I don't really drink soda or pop or whatever that much anymore. In fact, kind of never. And you know, my blood flows with Arnold Palmer Goldin colored liquid. But when I'm not, I'll have, I'll have one of these. This is like a liquor. It's just, it's. It's literally just the plain sparkling water one. But I'll have all the flavors kind of taste the same to me. Or I'll have a spinny. It's funny, you know. You know, I started the company kind of adjacent to the watch stuff. Luis Sutcliffe Hansen. That's with my friend Alex. And Alex is also a spindrift aficionado. And what will be in the office and he'll. Is this a partnership with Chris Hansen? Chris Hanson. Alex Hansen. Oh, okay. Why don't you and your watch come take a seat over here. Oh, Jesus. No. Good God. Yu-Gi-Oh That took a dark turn. What I was going to say is Alex will get up and he'll say, you want to get spun? And that means you want to spin drift. And he even knows that. I don't, I don't like the grapefruit one. So, Yu-Gi-Oh it's a. It's a great business. If I'm. If I'm feeling like in a certain way, I'll buy the grapefruit one. I'm the only person who drinks that one here. I do like it, though. So if I want to make sure I have some in reserve. All. Yu-Gi-Oh I have that OR two of grapefruit. I have that palette. It's like a genetic thing. I. I've looked it up. I can't remember. It's called Zebra tasting or some. It has some term to it, but it's where, you know, you taste bitterness in, like, a really kind of profound way. And it's funny because one of the number one things for that is. Is grapefruit. Like, most people can just eat it, and it actually just tastes good. Like, fresh, you know, citrusy. Good stuff or whatever. But for some percentage of the population, and I'm one of them, it is, like, unbearably bitter. I mean, it is. It is hard to describe, like, how it's a little like the cilantro soap thing. It is, right? It's the same type of thing where it's like, people look at the cilantro people and go, you're fine. Just. It's good. It tastes fresh. It's like. No, for those people, it literally tastes like soap. Like, it's a totally different experience. And one-of-one I have that for grapefruit. Otherwise, I like it. Okay, so what we're going to do today, now that we've covered all the important topics, is we are going to do a cube draft critique. I am going to be the subject because I feel like I represent our viewership in many ways. Let's actually back up a slight bit. Oh, powered cube is on arena again today. We're going to go over the change log, because I was going to say that. Why do you got to step on me, Luis? Why do you gotta. Then we're gonna do the cube. I know. I haven't even talked about Patreon yet. I'm just setting this. I would usually introduce stuff in the order that we're gonna do them. That's. That's kind of the traditional method here. I'm gonna restart, and you're gonna listen, and you tell me if it's. If I don't land the plane, then. Then you got. What is up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Resources. What are. No, what I was going to say is we're going to do a draft critique where I represent the viewer because I think I do. You know, in many ways, I draft a lot. I love it, but let's be honest, right? I one-of-one no lsv, right. I don't have that level of skill. You are in depth of knowledge, but I think that I can mirror a lot of what our viewers do. So what we're going to do is we're going to jump into. See, Luis, where I was going with this. The brand new Powered Cube, they just made a bunch of changes on it and it's back out on Arena. Hallelujah. It is time to relieve us from the Hobbit. Not that it was. I still maintain that it was a totally fine checkbox set, but it is. I am so over it. I relieved myself on the Hobbit weeks ago at this point. Yes, you are a little ahead on the curve on that, and I am, I am happy to. To leave it behind. I, I played a bunch of the box events and stuff, so I've had my run with the Hobbit and I'm like, okay, let's please, you know, give me something more exciting. And we did. We got the Powered Cube back on Arena. So we're going to do the draft walkthrough and also we are going to go through the change log. We're going to talk about the changes that they made from the last iteration of Power Cube to this one. And, you know, we've had Zach on the show who's kind of at the helm of that, and he's, you know, he likes to change it up and he is not afraid to throw us new looks, new packages of cards. And I'm kind of excited to see what he's got in store for us for this Power Cube iteration. Before we get into all that, though, I did want to say thank you to everybody who supports us on Patreon. It's patreon.com LimitedResources if you'd like to do so. And we'd also like to say thank you to Ultimate Guard for their support of the show. That's right. They make the best stuff in the business. If you need to protect your cards, your deck, your collection, they're going to have everything needed to make sure that you can enjoy them. Sleeves, play mats, deck boxes, so you can take your cards out, play with them and not worry that they're going to get damaged. And also organize and store and protect them for the greater part of your collection that you don't take with you to go play, but that you need on hand and that you need to make sure is safe and isn't going to get damaged and you know, sitting in a drawer or something like that, somebody spills something, you know that they're going to be protected in a Pandora or a long box or something like that. Ultimate Guard. They really do this great. It's, it's, it doesn't happen that often, but when you can marry really great materials which with really great design, then you can get a really great product. It is hard to do though. Much harder than you'd think at first glance. And they do a really good job of it. If you want to check out their full line of products, it's ultimate guard.com and you can pick up their stuff at your local game store or online retailer. We've got a Patreon question of the week. This comes from people who support us on Patreon. I put up a thread every usually few months or so and then it gets populated by questions. We do one per week and then also I'll do separate threads for our Q and A episodes and those type of things. This one though, is just a regular Patreon question of the week. This one actually is a back to backer as it was. Chroma. Oh man, he always gets me with this chroma. Comicus, Chromacomachus or Chromacomicus. He says, I found LR in the year of our Lord to be lsv, which is AKA the Brian Wong era. That's funny, Luis. You are now, you are now part of a canonical dating system. Congrats. While you've always focused on how to play magic, I've never heard you talk much about how you prefer to play the game. Given unlimited access and time, would you rather draft online or in person? For me, the anticipation of seeing good friends cracking real packs, though they've lost their smell, which, that used to be a feature of our cracker packs, by the way. Sharing food, building a deck with real cards, etc. Is just peak. But what do you prefer and why? What do you think, Luis? I mean, my ideal way to play magic is doing a cube draft with food and friends in person. Or that's actually. Sorry, that's not true. My ideal way, my favorite way to play magic is sitting down and cracking a pack at the pro tour. There you go route. It's hard to beat day one of the Pro tour. It's all like you're cracking your pack, you're kind of nervous, you've flown to wherever you're going, you've tested, you've submitted your deck days ago. At this point, you know your draft pod and honestly, you're hoping for a draft pot of people you don't recognize. Right. That, that, that makes it like that gives you the best ch. And you've got those three packs, the A, B and C with the little like paper around them. You, you know, Marshall and Paul have their gigantic coffees. They're, they're, they're in the booth. They've been, they've been ready to go for hours at this point. We hit Starbucks on the way to the site, baby. Though if, if you get a good enough draft, Potter, you get featured, which is fun too. It can always be fun to go back and look at that and you're about ready to crack the pack. And then the, the best possible is you crack the pack and there's like a good rare mythic and the colors you already want to be in the deck. You want to be. And you're just like, that's only slightly behind or ahead of you get the first wheel and like a great common in your deck and color wheeled and you're just like, oh, this is like a card. You, you're like, I don't know what to take. Oh, you know, I guess like it would be like in cube where if you were like debating memory lapse and mana leak, pick one pack one and then want to wield or something like that. And it just. That that's peak magic. But there are a lot of other fun ways to play magic too. So that's good though, like, especially the Friday draft when it's like electric and everybody still has that feeling. I could one-of-one the Pro Tour. Right. Like I'm sitting down, anything could happen. Oh, so good. Yu-Gi-Oh For me, there's two that come to mind. They're quite different from each other. So number one is. And unfortunately this doesn't happen anymore, but this is my favorite. So I'm in some city. I don't even know what it is because I have to ask in the morning, hey, where are we to Rashad before we go live on the air? And it's a hotel and we're in the lobby and BDM's there, Maria's there, Randy's there, all the old school coverage folks. And we have no actual table to sit at. So we're kind of hovered around some little coffee table thing and everybody, everybody's in different sized chairs and we're about to do a coverage draft. You're looking around. Yu-Gi-Oh You're too tired. You're going to Go to sleep before we even finish. And I'm picking out who the end boss at this particular coverage draft actually is. And I'm thinking, God, if I can one-of-one this coverage draft, I get to come in tomorrow morning for work and be like, Yu-Gi-Oh you know, slept great, everybody. And I feel like. I feel like BDM's a good end boss for that because I. He. He. He cares a lot. He does. Yu-Gi-Oh he's great. So, you know, Rashad's in there trying to draft some nonsense, and those. That. That was peak for me. It's the. And if you really want to go deep down the rabbit hole, it's the draft after that, which we call the bad idea draft, because we know we're going to all stay up too late. Oh, man. That's. That was living life right there. My other is on the completely other end of the spectrum, which is. It's like, Friday night. I have no plans. Now, normally, this would probably be a bad thing, but it's not always a bad thing. I got a Starbucks. Arnold Palmer. I got. In fact, I happen to have one right here, a Target Popcorn. All right, all right. The cube draft just went back up on arena or Magic Online, and I'm in the queue, and it's filling. I can see it. That is. Dude, that's my happy place right there. That's, like all. All I need right there is a, you know, seven in the queue cube draft with some. With an AP and some. And some popcorn, and I'm a happy guy. So those are. Those are my two kind of extremes. That's a great question, Crom. I really appreciate you asking. My other extreme was kind of what I led with, which was me with a bunch of my buddies here with some. Some food on and, you know, and then some drinks and just cubing around my dining room table. That's awesome. I want to. I want. Smoker outside. You got some meat on the. Like, a couple, you know, a little bit of smells are coming in. At that point, the meat would already have been done because you can't. You can't be trying to do both, but. Yes. Are you trying to eat while you're cubing? That's crazy. Not usually, no. It just. It'll kind of depend. I mean, I would do it, but. Okay, great question, cr. So before we actually jump into our cube drafts, the changes. What did Zach Barish do to us this time? What is he. What does he wrought upon us? Well, there's. There's some exciting stuff, for sure. So the. The number one. The Most exciting package that kind of came in was a bunch of Monarch cards. And this is the first time we'll have seen them. So we've got like Palace, Jailer, Fall from Favor, Ember, Wild Captain, Court of Bounty, which I think is usually pretty weak. What is that? It's too green. Green for an enchantment. You become the Monarch at the beginning of your upkeep. You can put a land card from your hand on the battlefield and if you're the Monarch, you can put a creature in play. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, it's fine, but. But it's not, it's not like particularly good or anything. And Aragorn and 4th year Lingus. So there's just some of the cards that. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Which is, which is really nice. So just. It's cool seeing some of the cards that, that we're used to seeing in. In all our other cubes kind of show up. So did those not exist before or are they just being put in now on Arena? They didn't exist on Arena. They were made. I mean, this is actually a good sign that a cube is. Is going fairly well. I would say they made it. So these, they're making cards directly for Cube now, which is. Oh, they're not. They just show. That's cool. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh they are. They. They've done some tweaking with Boros. And one of the things that kind of is funny about boros is, you know, they, they don't want it to be too good and they like the level it's at right now as, like as of the last iteration. So what they're trying to do is instead of just playing every. Putting every good boros card in, they just basically didn't like a Johnny is not in right anymore. A Johnny Nakato Pariah. And Yu-Gi-Oh That's right for that. Which I think, I think cutting crocs is totally reason why I've been talking about. Yu-Gi-Oh Trying to Caracas cut karakas, or rather not trying to, because I could just do it. I've been talking about cutting crocus for my cubes for a while because I feel like that card is just a bit too obnoxious. Do you think it. It benefits that white deck more than others or something? Or is it just. I mean, it does in the sense that it is. It's better if you're playing white and the white deck has a lot of its own legends, which is nice because it protects your own legends, but it really is just good in every deck. Like, it's just, it's Just a messed up card. You should always put it in your deck. I mean you could slide it out sometimes. If you were blue black and you didn't have any legends, I would still main deck it as a busted colorless land, but I would just slide it out if, if I'm playing against someone who doesn't have any legends. So they cut karakas, they, they've got, they cut a Johnny. They have a full change log that, that people can take a look at. They removed some of the support for artifact based aggro which I thought didn't really work, which I think is totally reasonable for them to do. They added Thassa's oracle Doomsday tainted pact. And that's kind of interesting. Relic of Sauron is very cool. So this looks like a great update. If you look at the list of cards they cut, they cut a lot of bad cards as well, which I think is pretty nice. Is Relic of Soar on that, that big mana rock that like lets you sift through your library or. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh It's pretty sweet. So. But, but you think that they, they re nerfed that, that aggressive artifact deck. Like it. This is very typical by the way of the era that we're in with, with Zach Bearish at the head is that he'll like take a shot on an archetype and then pull it or you know, just to keep things fresh or try out different stuffs. Do you think that they basically pulled that Archet? Well, they, they cut some of the bad stuff like Rust Harvester and Karn. I mean honestly most of like the 5 Mana, Karn creature, like most of the stuff they Cat, they cut Thousand Moon Smithy, that sort of stuff wasn't good one-of-one So I think the artifacts deck is still totally fine. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be. But it, they did, they did get rid of a lot of the cards which I thought people weren't really playing. Okay, any other notes before we. No, I'm ready to get in there. I mean we'll see kind of how things play out as we go through the cube, but it looks like just a good, a very reasonable set of changes to me. Okay, cool. Well then let's jump in. So again, the premise for this is I'm going to try to be quick because I want to hear your thoughts more but. And you know we're always under the clock on these drafts. But I'm going to say what I would pick and why. Again, trying to be brief and then I Want to just get your take on it? Just if you're like totally reasonable, go for it. Or here's the other card I would consider. Or, you know, Yu-Gi-Oh you're certainly gonna say what your. Your thoughts are, but I'll. I'll, you know, kind of analyze them from there. Great news, Luis. I have just enough gems to do two drafts after getting wiped out in the. In the. In the bad winter boxes. Fair enough. Okay, pack one, Pick one. Incoming. Five in the queue. Six in the queue. We're almost there. Remember, you can always check this out on YouTube as well if you're listening. Audio only. I'm going to keep you abreast of what's going on, but of course it's a little easier to keep up if you pull up the video. There's a link on lrcast.com under every episode for where YouTube episode version of it too. Okay, pack one, pick one. We are opened up. We've got Demonic Tutor, Utamyo Mox Diamond, Lightning Bolt, Nadu. What else is here? Those are the ones that are standing out. So for me, I would have it down to Tamiyo Demonic Tutor, Nadu Mox diamond, and to a lesser extent, Fiery Confluence. I would probably narrow it down to Nadu or Tamiyo. And I think I would take Nadu. Yu-Gi-Oh I think that Nadu is a perfectly reasonable pick here. I think. I think I would probably take Tamiya. But you could take Tamiya Demonic Tutor. And I do. One of the things that's great about Cube is like you get to choose your own adventure. And in this case, I think that if you forced me down to it and I was playing like not a team draft because I don't want to analyze it from that perspective, but just an eight player draft. Let's say, let's say the winner gets a pro tour invite or something big, right? Yu-Gi-Oh A high stakes draft. What would I pick? I think I'd pick Cameo. I think. I think that Tamiyo is. Is just so. It's. It's on par with DT and Nadu in terms of power, but it doesn't really depend on very much else. I think NATO is a good pick because DT actually like the least of these three. Because Demonic Tutor relies on you having powerful stuff that you haven't seen Whatnot kind of does. But the stuff you want is not. You don't need to first pick a Lightning Graves. You can seventh pick a Lightning Graves. You know, Demonic Tutor is looking for cards that are like, like power and. And flash and powerful combos. Whereas Nadu, it is Taking advantage of cars that are a little bit worse. Okay, I took Nadu. Next pack has Uro. In the same vein here, Lands wise, they all look mediocre. Green cards. There's Fast Bond, Asika's Chariot, Spring Heart, Nantuko. There's another Goyf. There's a few red cards. Gosh, this is a pretty rough pack. I guess I would take Uro. I still love fast Bond, even though I've been told by you that it sucks now. Man after my heart. Yu-Gi-Oh I would certainly take Earl here. This pack is awful. Like, Yu-Gi-Oh if I took Tamiyo, I would probably take Undercity, Sewers or Relic of Sauron. Second pick. I think Nadu and Earl work really nicely together. And honestly, I think Earl's awesome. And I think on arena, you see you play against aggro a little bit more than you do in. In some of the other cube places you play cube. So I would just take the Uro here. Not an ideal second pick, but a cut and blue green. And there's also Chariot, Fast Spawn, and Springheart, which all of those could come back. But I think just. I just think, oh. Shores up your aggro matchup. A lot is good against mid range and control, bad against combo usually. But it also plays out of your graveyard. There's just a lot of ways to use. Use it. All right, pack one, pick three. There's an amer. Emeritus of ideation. Let's see what else can I. Curator. No, no. There's a Gaea's cradle. There's a 3pi. One of my favorites. Third path iconoclast. There's a Daze. So I guess my eyeballs go to emeritus of ideation, Gaea Cradle, and Daze here. I guess I would take Cradle. Cradle is reasonable. I would just take Daze. I think Daze is a really good card. I think it's early enough that you can build a mana base that supports it. It's really good with Nadu because, like, you. First of all, Nadu puts Lands back into play, but more like Nadu can make it. So the games are fast and. And Daze gets better in fast games. Okay. I struggle with cradle. It's just. It's hard. It's really hard for cradle to hit the spot of I wasn't going to one-of-one Cradle makes me one-of-one I know. Because it really easily can hit the spot of. I needed to top deck a land. I drew Cradle. No creatures in play. Oh, God. And it can also also pretty easily be like, Yu-Gi-Oh I'm crushing and I have a cradle now. I'm really crushing. Yes. I'm not as interested in the third portion. That's a one-of-one More. The second one really concerns me drawing cradle in my opening hand and not being able to cast something. So Yu-Gi-Oh it can be difficult to. To hit that exact spot where you're. You're getting value. But okay, I took days. I, I like that. That makes a lot of sense to me and I'm. I'm glad to know that. Pack one, pick four. Yu-Gi-Oh So there's only one card that really stands out to me and that's Gut, the True Soul Zealot. There other cards in this pack? There's a Smuggler's Copter. There's a Leovold if I want to try to, I don't know, do some pile in that way. There's a Mishra's Workshop, which I know will catch Luis's Yu-Gi-Oh There's also an Olifant. But I view this pack as a bit of a punt and I, I guess I could consider Smuggler's Copter but I'm not as big of a fan of it and I would actually just take Gut. Yu-Gi-Oh I love your pick here. Gut is just the only good card in the pack. So you should just take the good card and. Okay, not just keep it simple. This is a pretty bad spot. But you know, what are you going to do? You should just take. You should. You shouldn't be hanging on to the first three cards so fiercely that you'll take a bad card. I mean not a bad card, but it's not a great card. Over gun, which is a very good card. Maybe you'll draft team or who knows? Yu-Gi-Oh totally. Okay, next up there's. But. Oh, this is the new Gandalf. That's kind of funny. It's the two in a red two, three. You know, kind of prowessy one again, that's in red. There's a Tamiyo Collector of tales. There's a Hedge Maze. Hedge Maze. There's a Ziatora's proving ground. There's also a fabled passage, a braid and a young pyromancer. Yu-Gi-Oh this is a cool one. Also there's a Jace, Wielder of mysteries. And we did see Oracle before. Let's see. Is Tamiyo good in a deck like this? Probably not. I think I'm looking at one of these lands here. Maybe I would just take Hedge Maze. Yu-Gi-Oh I like just taking Hedge Maze. This Gut I. I view as pretty speculative. If it works out, it works out. And you could certainly be a team or mid Range deck. But I would just take the hedge maze for now and. And see if you can. I remember you saying that you like to have one of these. Surveil one. I love this. It's also great with Uro. It's just good in general. Yu-Gi-Oh Okay. Next up is pack one, pick six. There's a miscalculation. There's the Goat Oust. There's also Renin six, which can get kind of interesting, but my Yu-Gi-Oh goes to the Prismatic Vista. Yu-Gi-Oh Here there's a Prismatic Vista and there's a Ms. Calc. I think I would just take the vista here because Ms. Calc is. It's okay, but not really what your Nadu deck wants so much. And also Fetchlands are just so good in this deck. So that. That seems like the plan to me. That's what I was thinking too. You know, it helps with Uro and of course, mana fixing with miscalculation. I like it a little bit more if I'm trying to be reactive. Primarily where this deck, at least so far it looks like it. Like we want the days to protect the Nadu stuff or to protect a big threat. It's not really about like trying to just stop our opponent. Fetchlands are also just awesome. Yu-Gi-Oh The Renin 6 probably doesn't come back, but it's not, you know, inconceivable. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh Okay, so pack one, pick seven. There's some nice cards here, but there's a freaking scalding tarnish in this pack. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, this is going to be an easy scalding tarn that's even the right fetch for you because it gets your blue green land and can help cast this gut of note. There is a Felia in the pack. I think Felia is a premier white card. I think it's really good. There's also a consider and a consult. The star charts, two blue cantrips and an Elvish Mystic. So I would certainly take Tarn. But it's a good sign to see an Elvish mystic seventh along with a couple blue cards. Though the Fleer here also makes it look like white is open. So, you know, where are you at on Teferi, hero of Dominaria. That's the five mana one. Not too important. I mean, it's a card I'll take if I'm a blue white control deck, you know, but just so few decks really care about getting that card. Yu-Gi-Oh This is one of the rewards for being in green. You got an eighth pick once upon a time. That card is just sweet. Edibly good. Yu-Gi-Oh I wasn't sure if I was gonna say obscenely or incredibly. I said both kind of. But it is just a great card. It's. It's zero mana. Look at the top five cards. It's like a mega cantrip. Yes. If you draw it later, it costs two, but in your opening hand, it's just. It's just so good. It can help you find the birds of paradise to play on turn one or the forest to play the birds or the Nadu to play. If you have the forest and the birds like it just. It's exactly what Green wants. That's right. And this pack is. Is pretty mediocre otherwise. There's Vibrance Crab Omination, Tendrils of Agony, Jite Exercise, Night Nurse, and Lightning Helix. So just kind of a bunch of. Of more mediocre stuff. All right, here's our wheel pack. So this is what we're getting back. Pack one, pick nine. And. Well, it's not much. There is a card that I really like here. Staff of the Storyteller. I've been pretty high on that one for a while, but it doesn't. It seems a little difficult to get white going. There's a Jet Mirrors Garden, Frantic Search. I mentioned Fiery Confluence in my, you know, upper echelon of that first pack pack, and it is still here. So I. I guess I would just take it. Yu-Gi-Oh I would certainly take Fiery Confluence here. You. You've gotten a couple outstanding red cards and two fetches. We'll see. We'll see where this goes. Yu-Gi-Oh And. And that's okay. I'll talk about that in a second. Pack one, pick ten. So we've got Glenn Alendra, Guardian, the Asicus Chariot and the Spring Heart Nantuko. Both came back. The two lands aren't really of interest. I guess I would take the Nantuko just because it's two mana. Yu-Gi-Oh I like nantuko. It's really good with Nadu. I mean, what does it do? It's good. Oh, because of the landfalls coming in all the time when you. Two things. One, when you bestow it triggers not. Oh, Cradle wield. Yu-Gi-Oh I would take Cradle over emeritus of Ideation and Gold Span Dragon. Because you just took Spring Heart. Spring Heart Cradle. Right. We're getting somewhere. Right. I actually do feel that Green is open, even if some of the packs have been a little weird. Yu-Gi-Oh I agree. Yu-Gi-Oh This is interesting. So I'll give you a quick recap. We've got days. Once upon a time, Spring Heart, Nantuko, Gut Nadu Euro, Fiery confluence, and then a hedge maze, a vista, a scalding tarn, and a cradle. Pack one, pick 12. There's a pyrite spellbomb, a glimmer lens, a figure of destiny, and a scrub land. I. I don't think any of these are gonna be relevant. I guess I just take spellbomb or something. I don't know. Yu-Gi-Oh I think so. Just I'm putting it right in the sideboard, to be honest. There is like a. There is a very small chance you might board it in. So here it's Zator's proving ground versus a braid. Yu-Gi-Oh Proving Grant is a duel for me. Yu-Gi-Oh I think I would just take the proving ground. It's nice having a red green duel. Yu-Gi-Oh Oh, now you got a mole man, a moloid master. You're not there yet, but is that even good? You never know. What does it do? Oh, it's the one that lets you play land. Yu-Gi-Oh And then the Louis Scott Vargas. It's a Romanov excavator. Yes. Last big settle. Except instead of a. Instead of being bigger, it's a. It's just. It's a 1:1, but it makes a 1:1 whenever you play a land. Yu-Gi-Oh Here's an interesting pack. Beckett, pick one, Jason Mind, Sculptor, Fairy, mastermind, Flash. There's lotus petal, broadside Bombardiers, and then there's some good cards in other colors like Toxic Deluge and that type of stuff. But for me, I'm immediately. Oh, there's also Wheel of Fortune. I'm immediately looking at Flash and broadside Bombardiers and trying to figure out, okay, am I actually playing red and am I playing that kind of more middle groundish broadside Bombardiers deck, or do I want to go for the extreme upside? Still early in the draft of Flash. And I think I would go for Flash. Yu-Gi-Oh Definitely want Flash. Sorry, sorry. Bombardiers is what I meant. Oh, you want Bombardiers. Great. You're just red green beats. You haven't seen any. Any good blue cards you got. You opened an auto, took a Uro and then took a Daze, saw no other blue cards. And Fiery Gut and Fiery Confluence are both excellent. Just take Bombardiers. You can just draft our reg. So this is a still play. Nadu, I think this is a leak in my game because I am still of the mindset even at this Beckett, pick one of trying to go for like these high upside picks like I did in pack one. But you're saying no, Just settle in like it's right there for you. And Bombardiers is one of the best cards. That's great. Okay, so I took broadside Bombardiers. Next pack has. Oh, there's Mystic Confluence. I love that card. Let's see. Sear. What is. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh Overwhelming surgeon. Territorial Kavu. I mean, maybe I just take that. There's also environmental scientists, which I assume will wheel. And then a talisman and Utopia sprawl. That actually could be pretty good too. I assume that either environmental scientist or Kavu would wheel. If I'm moving away from blue, I don't think I can take the confluence. Can I just take Utopia sprawl here? That'll probably wheel too. Honestly, is isn't really how I'd look at it. In fact, I think I would just take Malcolm. You can just be teamer. Like, you have a tarn. You have a tarn in a vista and a hedge maze. You already have a really good start to that. Blue being cut doesn't mean you shouldn't draft blue. It just means I don't think you're going to be straight blue, green. I think red is open. You got a gut, like, what, fourth or something? And you got fiery confluence on the wheel. Yu-Gi-Oh So I. I think I would just take cards that go towards that. And like here, there's another Fetchland here. And you can just set yourself up nicely. Okay, so now we've got an interesting one. This is Beckett, pick three. And there's a flooded sword strand which would. Which would fit nicely in the theme. But man, this screaming nemesis is jumping off the screen to me. Like, if. If I'm trying to be red, green beats this thing is. I mean, if you. If you ever. On the other side of Screaming Nemesis, it's like the most annoying threat that they can have. Should I consider it here? No, I would take flooded strand. It already gets hedge maze. You're. All you have to do is find a red adjacent land and it's just like a tricolor land. I just think cards like Screaming Nemesis are a dime a dozen. Like, oh, so I'm overrating that. Are both better. I'm. I'm. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. I do agree with that. So I'm overrated. Nemesis, definitely. I would take brainstorm out of this pack over Screaming Nemesis, but I think you should just take flooded strand. Okay, then I. Maybe this is probably me falling for the. It's really annoying, but maybe it's not. That doesn't mean that it's really, really good. Okay, well, here's another interesting one. Luis Pack. This one's not too interesting. It's just great. Okay, so there's Chandra. Torch of Defiance. There's a Channel. There's a fractured identity. There's the new smog, but there's also lightning greaves. There we go. And we want to keep this dream alive. So do I need to just bite the bullet and take the lightning greaves? I think if I'm sitting in my draft seat without Luis there. I do. I just. Just. I just. I don't know. Maybe this isn't the right term, but I kind of just chicken out and take the lightning greaves because it's so important to the Nadu side of things. But also, there's a part of me that thinks I'm supposed to be able to wheel a card like that, since I'm the one that has an audio and nobody else wants lightning greaves. Too greedy. Yu-Gi-Oh I would just take the greaves. I don't think it would be interesting if there was, like, a really great card for you in the pack. But I think here, you should just take the greaves, lock that up, and just. Loki. Huh? Loki, God of mischief is in this pack. Whenever player permanent becomes a target of an ability you control, draw card. This build trickles. Greaves does draw a card. But I think I would just probably take generous Plunder. Or that's funny. Or Thornspire Verge, something like that. Yu-Gi-Oh So generous Plunderer does definitely fit the slightly more aggressive, and it also gets our mana. Okay. And then the verge is just. It's just fine. I would take the generous Plunderer here, I think. Yu-Gi-Oh Plunder is also really good with both broadside and gut. Giving you a treasure to sacrifice. Right turn to plunder, Make a treasure play Gut attack, sack the treasure. That's a lot of damage. Yu-Gi-Oh Maybe Loki or Thornspire will wield as well. Those are not particularly high picks. Yu-Gi-Oh Beckett, pick six. Some interesting stuff here. There's a botanical sanctum. And the Lancelot, there's a burst lightning, which is, you know, really good and flexible. But, oh, boy, Questy B is here. I would slam questing beast. I would take botanical sanctum. Okay, good. See, this. This is why I want to do this. So once again, I want to know, why am I overrating questing beast, or am I underrating my mana? Like, am I overrating my mana situation is the mana situation. Because questing beast is totally fine. I would be happy to put that card in this deck. I just think it's about the same as a seeker's chariot, which I know you already passed on. Overworld oddity. Like, okay, they're just not that different. Untapped Blue Green land. And your Nadu Greaves deck is great. Now here's a card which I actually really am high on emeritus of abundance. That's the tuna green 3 4. That comes prepared to cast regrowth. And it has vigilance too when it attacks with eight lands and play guns. Prepared again. I think emeritus of Abundance is quite strong. Good way to use Gaea's cradle mana. Good way to get back like a key piece and just. Just a good card. It's kind of like Sentinel of the Nameless City. You know the 3 mana 3 4. That makes map tokens just a really, really burly value creature. Totally. I. I've had good experiences with this and it'll work really well with the time walk that we're gonna open in the next Beckett. Pack 2 pick 8. Thunder Trap Trainer Endurance. Leatherhead Nissa who shakes the world. Those are our realistic options here. I don't know. I guess I would just take endurance or something. I. None of these really catch my Yu-Gi-Oh I think endurance is good. It's a lot worse than best of one. I actually would just take Leatherhead probably okay in best of three. Like let. Here's another one. Leatherhead is I think very comparable to Questing Beast. Yu-Gi-Oh see I. I was way overrating Questing Beast. I. I'm probably in two years ago mentality with it where it was, you know, hitting a lot harder. Also Leather headed Greaves. Build your own Questing Beast. There you go. Fact 2 pick 9. So this is our wheel pack. There's a Zagoth triumph here. So that does color to cover two of our colors. I guess I would take it very mastermind. I mean it's not that good because you already have botanical or. Sorry Hedge maze which is already a tapped fetch. Okay. We did wheel actually all three. The Utopia Sprawl, the Environmental Scientists and the Territorial Kavu. This is a good spot for environmental scientists. You have gut and bombardiers. It's really good with both those cards. Yu-Gi-Oh Like it. It converts to a 41 with gut and it does 4 damage with bombardiers. It's a 2 drop. Fixes your mana, gets you red mana. I like that more than Utopia Sprawl. I think. I think sprawl not being a mana dork for cradle or to sacrifice to those things I think is a pretty big deal. Yu-Gi-Oh I think so too. I just don't have any ones right now. Like my deck is really suffering on that. Pack 2 pick 11. There's really not nothing here. I Guess. Now, every single card in this Beckett Sunfall, no more lives. And three white duels. You can just take whatever you want. It doesn't matter. That's a pack for cheon. All right. Training compound came back. So there's the land that taps for a colorless, or taps for red. Or green, if you have a basic, which is okay, but not amazing. There's also Court of Bounty, which is the. The Monarch Card. I guess I'd take the Monarch Card. Yu-Gi-Oh I would, too. I don't like those lands all that much. Wait a minute. Emrakul. Next. There's an Emrakul. Can I Court of Bounty it in? You could, Yu-Gi-Oh I would take Emrakul. Maybe you put sneak attack in your deck or something. I just don't think it's over. Loki, God of Mystic Mischief, and I don't think that's that good. Oh, here's an ether spellbomb that you're also not going to play. I'm not going to play that either. Okay, so right now we have Daze Malcolm, Generous Plunder. Oh. Oh. Your draft is a. Is constantly refreshing. All right. Daze Malcolm, Generous Plunder. Broadside Bombardiers, Gut Emeritus of Abundance, Nadu Uro Lightning Greaves. You have Springheart Nantuko as another two Drop. You have a Cradle, which looks. Okay, a once upon a time don't have any mana dorks like that. And that was one thing that the Utopia Sprawl would be decent at fixing, but no Birds of Paradise or Hierarchs or any of those things, which is kind of unfortunate. Yu-Gi-Oh Hopefully we get into pack three here because it would be nice to pick something up. You have pretty good land situation, no untapped duels, so you could use Tiger or Tropical island pretty badly. But you've got Fetchlands, you've got flooded strand, Prismatic Vista, Scalding Tarn. You have some tapped blue green duels. So, you know, we've got. We've got outs, but. All right, we are in with 15 seconds. We did get sneak attack. JVP. I guess I would say Cat Cob. I think you would. What you. You have. I would take side. Cat Cub, you have no spells for Jace. Okay. And you have three fetch. Three Fetchlands for the cub. Yu-Gi-Oh that was like a panic. Yu-Gi-Oh It's not like an amazing opener. Oh, here's another interesting one. So this is pack three, Beckett. There's Mana Drain. So one of the best, you know, blue slash counter spells around. There's also show and tell, which is kind of funny because we did get that Emrakul. There's also mana leak. And there's also bloodstained Mire Vivi or Nitier, which I don't think really goes into this deck. It feels a little more creature based. And then there's like Wolverine and a Molten Core Maestro or whatever. They're probably will Wolverine. Honestly. Yu-Gi-Oh I think I would still just take mana drain. But. But does my mana support it? Should I take mana leak? You should take mana leak. The way this deck's gonna play. I think mana leak is going to be better. So I have a much better chance of casting mana leak when I want to cast it. You're just not gonna. You. You. If you had a tropical island in a steam vents or something, I would feel a lot better about the drain. You just don't have as many. Don't have any untapped blue duels yet. Man. This is. This has been really insightful, Luis. Today I learned I'm greedy. Lands and mana leaks over. Over mana drains over and over again. It's true. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean these are subtleties. But I mean that. You know, these are the differences. Right? Like when you get into the match. All right. Pack three, pick three. There's a Snapcaster Mage. A couple of talismans. What is that? A Ravager? A green sun Zenith. And there's also Malevolent Rumble. I would take Rumble. I don't know if I'm supposed to take Green Suns because of Nadu or. No Rumble by mile. It's good with Uro. It helps you find the Nadu stuff. It's. But you have emeritus of abundance as a regrowth. Like, I think Rumble looks excellent here. Okay. Unfortunately, no power. No. The thing you really want to pick up over the next couple packs if you can, is just any sort of mana dork. But we haven't. We haven't really been presented with that. I don't. I don't think we've even seen one besides the Utopia Sprawl. Yu-Gi-Oh We saw the one Elf. Remember? Oh. Elvish Mystic. We took Scalding Tarn over it. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. Pack three, pick four. I think his days are over. But we've got Primeval Titan, Elder Garden. I don't know why they added that one back in. I didn't realize that until now. I didn't look through the whole log. Yu-Gi-Oh There is a stock up here which is just kind of raw power. I think that's where I would go. There's a suplex, I guess. But emeritus of conflict. That's the lightning bolt one. Right? Yu-Gi-Oh I would take. Stock up. Stock up. Always. It just always is so awesome. Yu-Gi-Oh Just get you what you need no matter what. All right, next up there is Hulk is in. Apparently. World War. Yu-Gi-Oh That is a bold move. Pack three, pick five. There's a Roman. A subtlety. World War Hulk somehow. What is this? Arch nemesis. I don't even know what that does. There's a Marsh flats. Necromancy. I would just take subtlety. I don't know if I have enough blue cards for it. Maybe remand's okay. No, I like remand more. This looks like a good remand deck. You actually. Yu-Gi-Oh it's funny. It actually. I have not seen as much red now, but it's. It's fine. I think your man is going to support just playing all three colors here and. Yu-Gi-Oh How do you feel about my mana? Right. Have I checked the box on that yet or. Oh, there's a breeding. Getting a breeding pool here is really nice. So I have. You haven't yet, but breeding pool goes a long way. The. The. The three things this deck is missing are a breeding pool, a taiga, and a Lenore. Elves. But, you know, we'll start with the breeding pool. Honestly, having a bunch of good 2 Mana counters goes a long way. You don't need to go one into three. You can just on turn two, cast your two mana counter, then cast your three drop on three. I think this is interesting. One of the things that I'm picking up from this discussion is trying to figure out when your man is good enough. When you can stop. You know, that. That. That is a really interesting inflection point. Pack three, pick seven, Quantum Riddler. I actually like that a lot. Sauron Dino devotee. I don't know what that does. Riddles in the dark. That's the new mini factor. Fiction. I would take Quantum Riddler. Yu-Gi-Oh Riddler's fine. Yu-Gi-Oh you warp the Riddler and then throw it with bombardiers. Oh, God. For seven. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm in for that. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh That seems good. I also need to make sure I hit playables here. Yu-Gi-Oh Lanowar Elves and ignoble hierarch in the same pack. Pack three, pick eight. This is actually our last chance to get one of these. One man here is incredible. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh What a pickup. Shores up our red mana a little bit and gives us our only one drop as well. Which is sad that this deck is going to be a step slow. But like you said, hopefully we can use a little bit of tempo. Yu-Gi-Oh Sneak attack. Came back. Pack three. Pick nine. There's also a Vine stock that Jace, like you said, not fully supported. And a Bilbo Thief in the Night. I could sneak attack the Emrakul, but I really don't have much else to do with it. Can I try Billboard? Jace and Bilbo are both kind of me. I guess you have a rumble. I'll just take Jason out of. That's. I put. Yu-Gi-Oh that one. That one's close. I don't know. Here's show and tell. They just want me to get this Emrakul. There's a Crang, A Shadow Zebra There's just not really a. Anything here. Yu-Gi-Oh you're not playing any of these cards. I'm just gonna take show and Tell and put it in the subord. Let's see here. Snapcaster Mage. Evora. You know, Snapcaster. You're. No, I'll take Evora. Evora with all the. With your. All your sack stuff is actually pretty good. Yu-Gi-Oh It just creates material onto that I can throw to gutter bombardiers. Primeval Titan wheel. There is Lava Spur. Bruce Boots. But I don't want two things like. No, I think. I think Greaves is enough for Nadu especially. Your deck isn't really going to want Lava Spur Boots really. In any other context. So I'm going to take Primeval Titan. Louise. All right. Do your prime time. There's. There wasn't anything else. one-of-one I'll take Arch Nemesis so that I can read it later because I don't remember what it does. Or maybe I just don't know. And then there's Sylvan Caryatid. Sure. I'm not going to take Empty the Cheons. And then a Lingering Souls. Okay, so that was Fast and Furious. I'm going to give you the recap of where we sit right now. And thank God that server hiccup didn't cost us. I really. Even if we Goldin make the last pick, I wanted to see what our options were. Or the first pick in pack three. Like, it just feels like such an incomplete story if you don't even get to see it. Okay, so right now we're at 45 cards. Sorry. I have the emerald. Cool in here. 44 cards. We've got ignoble hierarchy one. We have no zeros and one one. This is a big, big problem, right? Like, if you're looking at this. Aren't you. You're concerned at this curve, right, Luis? Like just big picture perspective. Yu-Gi-Oh You really would have liked another one. Mana play. It's not our twos. And there are a lot of them are days. Jason's Vince, Prodigy, Malcolm, Mana Leak, Remand. Two red Cards, Generous Plunderer and Evora. And then the rest are Greener, Colorless. It's Environmental Scientist, Malevolent Rumble. Once upon a time, Scythe Cat Cub, Spring Heart, Nantuko, Sylvan, Carytid and Lightning Greaves. The threes are Stock Up, Broadside Bombardiers, Gut Emeritus of Abundance, Mole Man, Nadu and Uro. And then the fours are Fiery Confluence, Court of Bounty, Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker. And then our fives and sixes are Quantum Riddler and Primeval Titan. For lands we have Cradle. Oops, sorry, say again? The Titan. I said you're not. You're not going to put Primeval Titan. Okay, Titans out for lands. We have Cradle, Botanical Sanctum, Breeding Pool, Hedge Maze, Ziatoris Proving Ground, Zagoth Triumph, Flooded Strand, Prismatic Vista and Scalding Tarn. And then some number of basics will be in there as well. And we may even cut. I don't know. Do we want to cut one of these Triumphs or something? I don't know. But we've got three cards. Cut that Zagoth Triumph because you have the Ziatoras. Is. Is what you want for. I don't want the blue. You already have Hedge Maze. So you. You would cut your first second blue Green Triumph over your first rig. Okay, so you're comparing. Do I would rather have those two versus one of each and it's one of each. Okay, that makes sense. So I cut that. But we still have three cards to cut. Is Jace Rin's Prodigy a thing in this deck? Graveyard Feeding's nice, but otherwise it's just kind of straight up value. It can cast Malevolent Rumble and Stock up and Fiery Confluence. Those are the three cards. Yu-Gi-Oh that's rough. That. That's really rough. I mean. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean you got. You have to cut three more cards. I would certainly cut the Jace. I think I would keep Molo, Mole Man, Moloid Master. Because you have three Fetchlands. And you and you have the two different sacrifice things, Gut and Bombardiers. And the Rumble. Nice. Oh, Rumble also puts Lands in your graveyard. Definitely. What about Scythecat Cub? Like, am I enough of a landfall? Cub looks great here. Okay. Like, is it just the three fetches that check that box or. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Okay. And it's good. If not, it's a good. It's another combo. If not, it goes really hard because every time a lane comes in, it triggers it Again. So what about Court of Bounty? Yu-Gi-Oh I'm looking at cutting Court of Bounty. And I guess maybe you just cut Mole Man. Actually at the end of the day. Okay, I think that's going to be the cut. Okay. So that, and then land wise, like how do you go through? So we've got seven non basics. Eight non basics. How do you figure out what the. What the other ones are like? Right now arena is suggesting five mountains, two islands, two forests. So the way I typically build these kind of mana base is I put in the minimum of my other land. So you probably want two islands and you probably want two mountains. That's like the minimum. And then I would and the rest of my basics want to be forests because you, you want this deck. I mean just like every green deck, just about. You have ignoble hierarchy. You have sylvan caryatid. Like you, Malevolent Rumble, environmental scientist. Your first green is really important. So you're probably going to run two mountains, two islands, and the rest forests. But we'll see where that takes us. It might, we might want one more red. Because right now this is five forests plus botanical sanctum, breeding pool, flooded strand, prismatic beast, a scalding turn. The fact they can get untapped lands is great. So that's 10 untapped green, which is actually about where I'd want to be. Okay, for blue, you've got 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 blue. So you probably are at like one over on blue. Yu-Gi-Oh And red is also five. Red has probably six. Wait, did you cut the Zia tours? You're supposed to cut Zia tours, not Zigoth trial. I did. Or sorry, cut Zigoth. Other way around. Okay, Yu-Gi-Oh I want the red. I want the one with red. Yu-Gi-Oh Okay. If you didn't have Hegemon's, you'd play the Zagoth. But you, you do so. Gotcha. Gotcha. So now you've got four, five, six red sources. So Yu-Gi-Oh I would play one more red probably and, and cut an island and one less blue. You don't have a second island to fetch for Uro or Quantum Riddler, but I think that's okay. That's funny. But I'll probably get away with it. I got the sanctum, the pool, the hedge maze. Okay, so there's our deck. What do you think of it? I mean, I think this deck's okay. It's not great. You didn't open it amazingly well. Yu-Gi-Oh I think this deck, its main thing that it's missing. Is like a free card, like a force of will. Yu-Gi-Oh Not that you have tons of blue. It would be really. Or a mox or something, but it would be really nice to have another mana dork where I do think your matchups are good. I think Uro, Nadu Emeritus, Leatherhead, Fiery confluence are pretty good against aggro. And you've got some good 2 drop acceleration, even if you don't have the ones. You also have some good counters against combo decks. I. I think this deck's totally fine. Okay. Yu-Gi-Oh And. And this, of course, the two things that stood out. One are. Are about how the draft one-of-one itself, which is, you know, we didn't open any power. There's. There was no obvious lane for, oh, the. The broken blah, blah, blah deck, is there? So fair enough. These. A lot of drafts end up like this, where you have to kind of make something work a little bit more towards the middle end of the spectrum and where you don't have, you know, those huge hammer cards, you know, that. That are just the best stuff. And, you know, this is why when you watch Luis's draft videos, he's like, oh, my God, I open power again. Because you don't always, right? You sometimes your deck looks like this and you don't have power. The other thing that stood out is more about me, which is really interesting. The two things were, one, I'm greedy. Like, I was pushing for the more powerful option and not really taking stock of where I was at and maybe saying, okay, well, you don't actually need that here. Like, just take the mana leak. Like, you'll be able to cast it almost every time. Where if you go for mana drain, which is like, like, that's a card that draws you in. I mean, look at Luis's Roto drafts. Like, that card goes really high, you know, but, you know, if your man is not going to support it, then. Then, you know, you're just being greedy by taking it. And the other one was having a better feel for when my mana, at what point I need to be prioritizing mana or not. Right. Like, when we got to that last pack, there was some decent card in the pack, and you're like, sweet breeding pool. Go. You know, and it was like, okay, and. And you had mentioned in pack two that I needed a card like that, like a regular Dual Land or a Shock Land to fill that role. So when you saw it, you're like, let's go. We. We got there versus me, who was like, oh, there's this shiny, shiny toy off in the corner. And maybe I'm looking at that because we had already dedicated a lot of picks to our mana and I was kind of thinking, Yu-Gi-Oh our mana looks actually fine. But for you, it was a very clear not fine. Okay, so those are the takeaways that I had. Let's do. The thing about your mana is actually a little bit subtle, which is you had the right colors. But with Zagoth, Triumph, Hedge Maze, Ziator's proving Ground, three Fetchlands, you didn't have the duels. Like, I still feel like not having Tiger, a stomping ground could be a pretty big liability. And that's why you like the breeding pool so much. When it showed up, that's why I thought the breeding Blue Ice like a really important pick. Okay, so it wasn't necessarily the right colors. Right. You just didn't have enough of the right, like the complements to the fetches. Is that the thing? You didn't have the. The targets for the fetches? Yu-Gi-Oh that's the main thing. Okay, well, we're going to jump into a traditional. There's currently six in the queue, it looks like, and we'll see how this next one goes. So this is really great, Luis. I especially, you know, the, the inflection points are the, the ones where I say, okay, I'm going to do this because a lot of the picks I would narrow it down. I would say, I'm going to go with this. And you would either say, Yu-Gi-Oh that sounds good, or you'd say, Yu-Gi-Oh you could do that, or this other one. But it's like kind of whatever. But the, the good stuff is when I go, I want to take this, and you're like, no, like you should definitely be thinking, you know, in these terms. And I think those are the more Yu-Gi-Oh opening spots. Okay. Another draft arena. Yu-Gi-Oh we got another. Another one. Seven in the queue. Well, there's eight in the queue, but seven ready. There's always one who has to let you know 35 seconds kill from the clock before they hit it. Exert their will. But they just did. All right, let's open up something sweet here. Pack one, pick one. Okay, well, there is a Tinker. There's also Remand Zurin Orb, which is I kind of have a soft spot for, but would never first pick a bunch of red cards screaming Nemesis Magda, blah, blah, blah. I would just take Tinker here. Yu-Gi-Oh Again, my thought process, Luis, is almost always, and maybe too much, as I've learned today, to go for the upside. I think Tinker's a great pick here. I'm not the biggest Tinker fan, but I still think pick one, pack one. It's better than Remand. And there's no other card here that I think would be a reasonable pick. I, I do like Zernorb a lot. Way more than most people. It's good with Titania. It's good with Bailoth prime, though, I guess. This cube does not have they. Not unless they put it in this version. No. Yu-Gi-Oh No, they did not add it. So it's just Titania here. But I don't think you should first pick it over remand or Tinker. And I think Tinker is a totally fine first pick. Like you, you got, you got your direction. You know, we'll see if this pans out. You're allowed to walk away from these things. Like, I totally, I never get married intentionally going to walk away from Nadu, but then it ended up that we didn't need to. I think in this case, if you, if you see a John. Well, I guess Johnny's not in. If you see a Parallax wave, you could take that. If you don't see an entomb, you could take that. You don't have to go down the Tinker route, but obviously Tinker can be pretty good. Yu-Gi-Oh totally. And, and this is one that I'm much more. You know, Nadu is tempting to keep regardless, but Tinker, I'm perfectly willing to just. Chuck, I, I don't care. All right, pack one, Beckett. What do we got? World Spine Worm, show and Tell, Palantir Coalition Relic. No really great lands. There's another great Gut here. Yu-Gi-Oh This is funny because it's kind of like the last one, but I would actually just take gut. Yu-Gi-Oh I would too. I, I, I just think Pinnacle, Emissary, Narset Coalition Relic are just not strong enough to, to, to pass up on gut. And you know what? Gut and Tinker can actually go in the same deck just fine. It's not going to be like the typical deck, but if you have enough cheap artifacts to sacrifice to Gut, those are the same things you want for Tinker and vice versa. So. That's true. Yu-Gi-Oh And I just think you should take the best card a lot of the time in the first couple picks, especially when the best card is a lot better for your deck. Like, if, if this pack had a preordain, I would just take preordain. That card's good enough that I would pass up on Gut. I don't think Narset Riddles in the dark or Coalition relic or Pinnacle Emissary are good enough. They're not giving you any sort of signal. Getting past gut is a bit of a signal, at least. Yu-Gi-Oh And I don't mind just kicking the can down the road on a pick or two. Like, that's fine by me. But. But when there are, like, really powerful stuff, I mean, I. This deck could be anything still. Okay, pack one, pick three. Oh, there's a Mox Opal for Luis. Quantum Riddler, balance in the pack as well. Yu-Gi-Oh those are the cards that stand out. Mox Opal. Mox Opal. I love Quantum Riddler and Balance. Are there any artifacts of note? And there's a talisman. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh This is a really close one, I think. If I'm sitting here by myself, I think. I think I take Mox Opal, actually. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I like it. Is that too aggressive? No. Mox Opal is a directionally, you know, valuable card. Like it? It is a good sign that you're getting a third pick Mox Opal in the artifact decks. It's like a Glee Mox. It's a five color box. It's incredibly broken. Obviously you have to support it, but it's great with Tinker. It's great with gut. It's just like, this is what you want. So. Okay, but now I'm leaning even more towards the artifact end of things, which is good. I mean, but I mean. Yu-Gi-Oh you first pick, Tinker. That's a reasonable place to be. Yu-Gi-Oh And like you said, gut does work with those. And gut is red. And typically these decks have some amount of red in them. If you want to get, you know, third path, Iconoclast, or. What was that thing that we opened? Okay, pack one, pick four. Let's see, there's a Library of Alexandria. There's a candelabra of Tanos. Oh, cool. They put together as one in here. Oh, and there's a polluted delta. So artifacts wise, there's just candelabra, straight value. There's library, which I really love. But this looks more like I put my cards on the table type of deck. So I think I would just take polluted Delta and just have faith that it. That it does. You probably get back a candelabra or. Or a red card. There's three reasonable red cards. Well, I mean, there's Chandra Suplex, and I don't really know about this new Gandalf card, but Yu-Gi-Oh it's a Goblin Spain one we'll have to see. Yu-Gi-Oh it's a possibility. So, Yu-Gi-Oh I would just take. I would just take polluted Delta here. It's a blue fetch. Kind of defers the decision. Like, you're a little hard. Obviously you have two artifact cards and just gut. But with the right set of cards, if you get Mana leak into Fiery Confluence and the Chain Lightning into Malcolm, you're just a blue red deck, and that is totally fine too. How do you feel about Tinker? I'll ask you that in a minute. Pack one, pick five. There's upheaval. I love that expedition map, man. There's a lot of support for Academy here. We just don't have the Academy. There's a chain lightning stomping ground kind of interesting. And a dig through time. So I guess my eyes go to chain lightning and dig through time. And I think I would just take chain lightning. What do you think? I would definitely take chain lightning. It's. It's just a good early interaction. Yu-Gi-Oh If you end up red aggro, it's great. If you end up in artifacts still, fine. The other card to note that is Expedition Map. Not that you should take it here. You probably will get it back. No one's opened Academy, so you're kind of set up for that. But. But it's just too early to be taking cards like Map and Candle. There's Candelabra in the previous pack, which, like, the same thing applies to. Okay, this is a really interesting pick. Yu-Gi-Oh So there's Lutri, there's a Thundering Falls, and there's also a Chromatic Star. There's also just good cards here. Barrel Goy's really good. There's a Badlands and a Cologon's Command. So to me, Yu-Gi-Oh this is really tough because I really like Lutri, but I like free spells with it, and I don't have any of those yet. Thundering Falls. I just need it. And then Chromatic Star would go perfect in this deck as well. I think I would chicken out a little bit and take the Thundering Falls. What do you take? I'm Simon Chromatic Star here. You're gonna commit a little bit here. Well, if you end up in artifacts, it's incredibly good because it turns on Opal and it's good with Tinker, but it's. It's also fine. Blue, red with guts. It's just a good card to sacrifice. So it's like a nice little hedge. I also think tap lands are just not Zebra high on my priority list. Okay, so. Okay, I took it this. This Pack is juicy. There's a Jace Frinz prodigy and a Malcolm 2 2, two drop discarders. There's Stern Scolding. There's Lorien Revealed. And there's Wooded Foothills. Yu-Gi-Oh Not to mention a Torsten if you wanted to be in the Flash sort of deal. And a Trumpet and Connoisseur if you wanted to put a bad card in your deck. So I. Yu-Gi-Oh I. I would take Wooded Foothills, but I need to know. I would just take wooded. I would just take Wooded Foothills. You're going to be blue red. You do need a blue red duel at some point. It's definitely true. And passing the Thundering Falls is costly. But I think Chromatic Star is really good. And I would. I think Wooded Foothills is great. What's second here? If you don't take the. Is it Jace Malcolm Sternstone probably Revealed. Dorian Revealed is an underrated card. I think Lorian Revealed is really, really good, man. And that's two of the, like, free cards for the pitch spells that we don't have. Pack one, Pick eight. Brazen Borrower, Expressive Iteration. And that's about it out of this pack. I love Brazen Borrower, but I wonder if this deck actually wants Expressive iteration. Let's see. We actually still only have one blue card. That's funny. I like Iteration. You. You've got you. If you play Artifacts, you'll have some zeros. It's really good with those. It helps get your game plan going. Honestly, even if we don't end up in Artifacts, I think we've got a good start. But I actually kind of feel like Artifacts is going to pan out in Beckett. We'll have to see. The biggest sacrifice we've made so far is taking Chromatic Star over Thundering Falls. In service of that, I think you had to take the Mox Opal. So there is a world where ditching a little bit earlier and just taking Opal or taking Thundering Falls over Chromatic Star would put you in a better spot. But I kind of have faith in this pack. There's two dragons. There's. Yu-Gi-Oh bring her in. Magmatic Hellkite. But Reckoner Bankbuster came back around. I think I would just pick that up. I'm in. I'm in for the Bank Buster. Yu-Gi-Oh That jumped off the screen to me. I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh it's totally artifacts. It's value. Yu-Gi-Oh And. And, you know, I. Glory Bringer's fine magic. Al Qaeda does whatever it does. But Yu-Gi-Oh we'll take Reckoner, Bankbuster. We can Use it to further our game plan. All right, next is pack one, Pick ten, Show and Tell Nexus of becoming Portable Hole, Sunbellow, Verge, Unexpectedly Absent, and a Fire Covenant. I think I would take Fire Covenant. Great pick. Excellent. And now also if Badlands comes back, which probably one-of-one but in the Chain Lightning pick, there was a Badlands. That would be the perfect land because make Delta into a Red land and would have Foothills into a Black land. But even if you don't get that, Delta already is a Black Land. Pack 1, pick 11, Aborant, Oculus. There's also a Spar as headquarters. I don't think we want any of these. I would just take the Oculus. There's also a pest infestation, which I don't think is a crazy pick with wooded foothills, but I would take Oculus with. With Double Fetch, Chain Lightning, Chromatic Star. Like you're, You're. You could just be like a grixis mid range deck splashing this Fire Covenant. If you don't. If the things don't work out, out for the artifact stuff. Yu-Gi-Oh And look, Suplex wheeled alongside this Gandalf. But I imagine you just take Suplex here. And red seems open, Blue doesn't seem particularly open. But you got a pretty late iteration. You got some late Fetchlands like, I think you'll be fine. Take a suplex. Pack one, pick 12. Our cards are Mox, Opal, Chain Lightning, Chromatic Star, Suplex, Expressive Iteration, Reckoner, Bank, Buster, Tinker, Gut, Fire, Covenant, Polluted Delta, wooded Foothills, and now we're going to get a dig through time. Time, sure. Dig and Oculus fight a little, so you might not end up playing both. Oh, Cologon's command is his solid here over three and Inspector. So the gr. Basically to. To summarize it, you have Mox, Opal, Chromatic Star, and Tinker for. Oh, last pick, Stern Smolder. Nice. See, so you have three Artifact cards and you have a bunch of mid range blue red cards. So we'll just have to see what these, these packs have. Okay, next up. Oh, good stuff here. Beckett, pick one. No power, but there's. Well, there's a source of plowshares that stands out, but there's also Pyrogoy and Volcanic Island. Those are the two cards that really stand out to me. So this is. This is a classic. Like, do I need to take my. Eat my vegetables and take the Volcanic island or can I, you know, delay that or assume that I can fix that later and take Pyrogoyf and I'm going to be honest. I would take Pyrogoy Fear. I know. And you're going to tell me to take Volcanic Island. Okay, I will take Volcanic island then. See, this is a Blue Fetch and a Red Fetch. You don't have a blue, Red Fetch. You just have a Blue Fetch and a Red Fetch. Volcanic island is just the perfect land you've got. Stern scolding. Chain lightning Suplex. Expressive iteration. Oculus Gut. You are playing Blue Red. It's just like that. That's going to happen whether you play artifacts or not. The next four or so picks are probably going to really show you that if you got past the Talarian Academy here, if you got past a Bowl of Citadel for the Tinker, if you got past a Mox, obviously would be crazy. You know, we'll see. We'll see. Okay, I took, I took it. I, I, I ate my vegetables. We're figuring things out about me. Next up, there's Dak Faden, which I love. Maybe Overrate. There's Wheel of Fortune, Fractured Identity, Karn, which I also really like. There's a Taiga, and there is 4th Ira Lingus down in the corner there, too. The. The big. The big hammer that has been really great in Cube for a long time, but hasn't shown up in this one. So, to me, for me, I would narrow it down to Dak Faden and Karn, and I think I would take Dak Faden. What would you take? I would probably take five cards before I even thought about Karn. I just don't like the card very much. Okay. I think for me, it's Dak versus fourth year Lingus, and normally I would take fourth with two Fetchlands, but honestly, I actually like your pick of Dak here because now you can just play both Dig and Oculus in the same deck. That's what I was thinking. Yu-Gi-Oh I really like Karn. I must be way too high on it. Yu-Gi-Oh I think you are. Yu-Gi-Oh It's not a card you should consider out of that. Okay, Beckett, pick three. Any lands? No. So Luis can't yell at me. Kind of. There's a Black Redland. Blazemier Verge is a plant you would put in your deck. Oh, that's true. I was thinking when you Covenant, but you're right. No, there's none of the really, really good lands, but the the best cards in the pack. There's Blaze, My Verge, There's Necromancy and Italy. You're not really interested in either of those. There's A Pentad Prizm which I think is likely going to be the pick, because that's what I was thinking too. You can sack it to gut and tinker. You also might well not be artifacts, but I would. Here's. Here's the spot I would draft from right now. I would take. Assume we're blue, red, like mid range blue, but you could veer into artifacts if the right cards present themselves. Pentad Prizm is kind of good for both of those, and there's really nothing else competing with it. Yu-Gi-Oh I like it. That's. That's what I was thinking too. And it's worth noting, you know, we don't have a Tinker target yet. Like, we're not. We're not in the tinker business until it's really here. No. Okay, next up, Emrakul Lightning Bolt Bayou. What else? Dragon's Race Channeler Lightning Helix. I would take Bolt. Yu-Gi-Oh I like it. So it turns out that the artifact stuff really isn't here. We're pretty close to just shelving that part of the deck. And it's a shame to lose Mox Opal. I actually don't feel bad about the Chromatic Star. Really, because you got the volcanic. So the Thundering Falls loss isn't. Isn't so bad. And Chromatic Star is really good when you're like trying to fill your graveyard and you have a gut and stuff like that. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh We'll still. I really hope Dragon's Rage Channel or Wheels here. Wheels a good portion of the time. And there's like. Like I'm a big five good cards in this pack. So. Yu-Gi-Oh we just need. Need to fade two. Two other people. I mean, if you count Emrakle, it's even actually not that unreasonable for it to come back around. Okay, so we take the Lightning Bolt. I like the bolt there. Yu-Gi-Oh Next up is Beckett. Pick five. There's Gold Span Dragon Jace, wielder of mysteries. Manamorphose, Rafine's Tower, which I guess does cover two of our bases and is fetchable by the Delta, but not the foothills. Yes. Hedge Maze and Seething Song. This is funny. I mean, am I supposed to just take manamorphose here? Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh baby. Just get it. In my yard. You're drafting blue Red. Like blue red cantrips. Now if the dragons rage wheels, that'd be awesome. Metamorphosis. It just helps cast the cards like Oculus and Dig Through Time are both really, really busted cards if you've enabled them correctly. This deck looks like it's going to. The main thing this deck is missing is you don't have any two mana counters and you don't have any two or one mana creatures. So it'd be good to work on those things, but we got a little time. All right. Beckett, pick six. There's a blood crypt here, and I just want to. Yu-Gi-Oh this. That's the easy one. There's a wishclass dark ritual. Now that you have blood crypt, polluted delta, volcanic island, wooded foothills. You have a really good grixis mana base. You're not. You're not done. You would like to pick up another one or two. But you also have manamorphose and Pentad Prizm If you see a Thoughtseize. Oh, and you have Chromatic Star. If you see a thoughtseize, you can just take it now. Yu-Gi-Oh The way I kind of look at it is once you. Once you have two fetches, a dual of your main colors and a dual of your secondary color or like tertiary. I guess in this case black. I feel comfortable taking black cards. I wouldn't have before the. The. The thing. Unless. Not too comfortable. I wonder if I can get that kaito back. Beckett, pick seven. Well, it's pretty rough for us. There's a tropical island and a collective brutality and then a bunch of green and white cards. You know, I would honestly. Well, I'd like to see what you. What you're considering brutality. Yu-Gi-Oh I honestly would just take drop. Yu-Gi-Oh My reasoning is. Is kind of twofold. One, I just don't think this deck wants collective brutality. You have a bunch of bolts, so you don't need the minus two. Minus two. I was gonna put it in the board. Yu-Gi-Oh but you're not sideboarding. It's the best of one. No, I just meant I was going to put it in the sideboard. As in I'm not playing it. Oh. Yu-Gi-Oh I guess technically this is actually a traditional. You do side traditional. That's funny. Okay. Well, I think it's useful to know for people who are watching best of one, that I would take trop. You never know when you get a minsc and boo, it can cast manamorphose. Fetchable lands are really important. And to that. To that vein, now there's a tundra, but there's also Preacher of the Schism. And as much as I don't really like the card, you might be in the. In. In the. In the market to take Preacher to the Schism. I'm. I'm totally fine just taking tundra here, though. All right, here's our wheel pack. Well, we got the miscalculation back. That's kind of interesting. There is also for that tropical island. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, I like Oko a lot. I. I guess we're still. I. I would probably just settle on Ms. Calc. What would you take? I really want this. Brainstorm. Like, you have Brainstorm. Oh, because I have the Fetches. Dude, I always overlook Brainstorm. Yu-Gi-Oh you have two Fetchlands in a Dig through Time in an Oculus and all that. Look, your Karn came back. Well, Yu-Gi-Oh but now I'm not in artifacts, and I'm not interested now. Actually, this is a wild one. I actually think you want Carnage Interpreter. Yu-Gi-Oh that's what I was thinking, too. This great is going to empty its hand and play that. Also, you can set it up with Brainstorm, where you, like, put. You put a card back on top, then play Interpreter and discard your hand. Also, you have tundra. You have all these fetches. Like, look, there's an Aragorn in this pack, along with a bunch of green cards. I would take the Aragorn. King of Gondor. That's the one. Plus Jeskai Mana. Blue, Red, White. Right. Four. Four. Vigilance. Lifelink. You become the Monarch. And when you attack, you make something unable to block. If you have the Monarch, nothing can block. This is a really good card. You've got that tundra that you can fetch with. Delta Dragon's Rage Channeler Wield. Amazing. Did. That's amazing. That's huge. Because right now, I. I think I would move Mox, Opal, Tinker, and Reckoner Bank Buster out. I just don't think you're gonna play those. Yu-Gi-Oh the only way the Opal gets. Gets some Blue Ice if you, like, open a Mox and get past a Moxie. Right? I have to have something. Battle Sphere. It's mere Battlesphere Overseeing Song. You're not playing Seething Song. You're not tinkering for Battle Sphere either. I don't even know why that's back in the Cube, but. And then I'm going to take Wishclaw Talisman Pack 2. Yu-Gi-Oh If you open Mocks, got past Mox, got past another artifact or two, you could kind of run Opal. But I think for right now, I would assume you're not going to. Okay, so our deck is Brainstorm Stern Scolding. Chain Lightning. Dragon's Race. Chandler Lightning Bolt. Chromatic Star Suplex. Expressive Iteration. Manamorphose, Pentad Prizm Aborn, Oculus Gut Dack, Faden, Carnage, Interpreter, Fire, Covenant, Cologon's command, Aragorn, and dig through time currently, and then pack three, pick one. What do we got? Let's see. Hollowed fountain, crypto plateau, and a flooded strand is. Flooded strand. Do what I need it to do here. It gets volcanic, it gets tundra. It doesn't get blood Crypt, so it doesn't get black yet. Okay, but now that you have three fetches and four duels, you actually are in a position where you could kind of take whatever as is. You're gonna put Fire, Covenant, and Aragorn in your deck. You're going to be playing those four colors we saw Oko go away at the end of last pack. So, Yu-Gi-Oh there's not that many green cards you would splash at this point, but you never know. Okay, pack three, Beckett. We got shell dock, Ataxium Probe. Let's see. Anything else? Good. Empty the warrens. No. So just a bunch of jank. So to me, you know, my question is, is this a shell dock deck? Is this a probe, or is this, like, do I just need a random temple garden for these splashies that I'm doing here? I think you don't have any green cards right now. I would take Probe. Probe is an amazing card, and you have Oculus, Dragon's Rage, all that stuff. There is also an Ember Wild captain in the pack, which I wouldn't take here. I would take Pro, but I don't know what that is. Is. Yu-Gi-Oh it's a fine card. It's four mana. Four, two. You become the monarch. Okay. So. Okay, Yu-Gi-Oh it also pings them if. If you're a monarch when they attack, whatever, that part doesn't matter so much. But basically, it'd be a good monarch threat. But you just Beckett up Aragorn, who's a great monarch threat, so you don't really need that on four. Okay, this is turning into a turbo Oculus deck. Like, it's actually looking pretty nice. And like this. Oh, this pack has. Yu-Gi-Oh this pack is stacked. Holy smokes. Pack three, pick three. There's Vivi or Nidie, which would actually be really good here, I think. Let's see. We're not playing birds, but there is Unholy Heat. Pandora and Saheeli as well. I love Booster tutor, too, so I think in my mind, it's between Vivi and Pandora I think I would take Vivi Lambing. Booster Tutor. It's not even. Oh, I get to take Booster Tutor. You've got a bunch of Fetchlands you have all five colors. You can even. You're also just playing trop and tundra, even if you don't need them for any other reason. I thought that was the irresponsible pick. No, no. I think. I think Booster Tutor's legit. Great card. And I think this is a really good spot. I'm so happy to hear that. I was trying to be an adult. No, no, no. You. In this particular case, it's not necessary. Okay. That doesn't happen that often. Let's see. Pack three, pick four. What is Gloom Lake Verge? That verge there is Third Path Iconoclast, which I really like. There's a Random Reanimate, the Mind Stone. I don't think that does anything. I probably could get Golos going. He's in this pack, but I don't need to take him here. That's not what you wanted. I would take Third patch auto do you like? Yu-Gi-Oh I'm torn between Third Path and Reanimate, but I think I take Third Path. If you don't want any hope of this gut being a good card, Third Path is going to help. And honestly, you have. You have a zero mana spell in Probe. A zero mana spelling manamorphose, and a ton of one mana spells. Yu-Gi-Oh Take Third Path. This is spot for it. I think it's going to spit out some. The main reason to consider not taking third path is that I think you could wheel it right. But this also doesn't look like an amazing Reanimate deck or anything either. Yu-Gi-Oh this is sad. Pack three, pick five. There's a flash in this pack. I just don't have anything that matters. There is a Preordain, which I love. There's also Young Pyromancer, which which would be kind of fun in this deck. As well as Season Pyromancer, Bone Crusher. Just a whole bunch of good kind of middle stuff. But I would just take Preorder Dane. Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. You really do want to find a counter spell. And I think passing the Ms. Calc was totally fine Last pack. Because I think Miscalc is just not that good of a card. It's okay. But right now you are dying for just like any counter spell. Yu-Gi-Oh Mana Vault Pick six. It's not the best mana ball. It doesn't really work for us. But that's kind of weird. Yu-Gi-Oh Solitudes here too. There's also Time Spiral, Faithless Looting Abrade. I mean, you should just take the dismember. I should just take Dismember. It's just so good. I would have taken mana vault, but I, I don't even like it here. You just can't, literally, can't cast any spots. I know. I just, I'm, like, the only one. It's sort of like a. I know it's kind of weird to pass a mana thing. Yu-Gi-Oh But I think you're, you're definitely right. The Abra makes more sense. Let's see. Pack three, pick seven. We're not a sword deck. Yu-Gi-Oh Ether. Spellbomb. Yu-Gi-Oh I would just take Spellbomb here. I think this looks like you need. You, you need threats. Oh. And I am a world is really good. It's good with Dak. You know, you get to. It's good. Turn to Evora. Turn three. Carnage Interpreter Attack for five or something. Yu-Gi-Oh that's cool. Get in there. Oh. Skull clamp. Eighth pick, Skull clamp. Yu-Gi-Oh And we just took three PI, too. Yu-Gi-Oh I would slam. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I would take it. I would take it. I, I, I was, I was considering, you know, advocating for this pyrokinesis, but. Which I do love. But you do have chain lightning, lightning bolt, suplex, and dismember. You don't really need it. Yu-Gi-Oh Take clamp. There was also a young pyromancer, which I think is kind of pretty good. And, and we did see the. Take the cryptic command. This is a spot. Your man has got to be really good. Like, Yu-Gi-Oh Three fetches in a volcanic. And then in a blood crypt. And then you can just play. And you have a Pentad Prizm and a Chromatic Star in a manamorphose. Like, I just think that this deck is gonna. The, the biggest strength of this deck is that it's got Brainstorm Probe, Preordain. It's just gonna rip through its deck and find. Yu-Gi-Oh Kind of the same cards every game. Yep. No card in this pack matters. Yu-Gi-Oh I was gonna say pack three, Pick. It's all white cards and white lines. It doesn't matter. Matter. So finding even just having one hard counter here and I guess this is really going to be the only one gives you something to dig for. And. Oh. VV wheel. This is such a good BB deck. This is great. This is a really cool. Pyromancer's coming next. Yu-Gi-Oh This. I'm actually really happy the direction we went here. This has been really sweet. Yu-Gi-Oh this has been cool. And also, of course, shows at a more basic level, but still, you know, don't get married to your first pick. Right. Like, like, we, we bailed on the Tinker plan. Take Lingering Souls. This is. This is the spot for it. You've got a bunch of discard. You've got a tundra. You've got a. You're playing black. See? See, this is why. This is why I keep you around, Luis. I would not have seen that. That is. This is actually a legit great spot for Lingering Souls. You can discard it to Carnage Interpreter. Dang, it looks like the young pyromancer didn't come back. That's okay. Which is a little sad. The Abrade did. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Is that better than Thor? I don't know. Probably. I'll take Thor. I've never played it. You don't really need both. Oh, I don't know what this adversary, it makes a devil token. 11 doubles. What do they do? They die and ping. They ping for one for your skull claim. Are they artifacts? Can you get Mox Opal and you probably can't, right? No. Let's see. I currently have. I was looking at three artifacts. Skull Clamp and Third Path. But no, I don't think so. If we cut one artifact, the Opal could be the third one. There we go. Perfect. Okay, so we're taking a look at the overall build now. And we've got 47 cards currently though. So we have a lot of cuts to make, obviously. But right now at the Ones, and this is really funny because this is so different. So different than the other deck at the Ones we have. Brainstorm. I should. I mean, Gitaxian Probe is technically a one, but it's often a zero. Preordain, Stern Scolding, Booster, Tutor, Chain Lightning, Dragon Rage Channeler, Dragon's Rage Channeler, Lightning Bolt, Chromatic Star, and Skull clamp. And at 2, we have Evora Suplex, expressive iteration, third path, iconoclast manamorphose, Pentad Prizm which unfortunately doesn't go to the graveyard. Three Lingering Souls, Abhorrent Oculus Dismember, which is another one in some cases. Guts Dak, Faden Vivi, Carnage Interpreter, Fire, Covenant, Coligon's Command and Obnix List. The Adversary Fours are Cryptic Command and Aragorn. Five is Thor, God of Thunder. And our Atrop is digging from a lands perspective. We have Tundra, Volcanic Island, Blood Crypt, Tropical Island, Flooded Strand, polluted delta and wooded foothills. Man, look at that mana. Yu-Gi-Oh I think your man is great. I would trade Chromatic Star for Thundering Falls, the way this kind of panned out. But I think Star still probably fine. Here you have to cut seven cards six or seven. Is this a deck that we could play 16 land. You could. You could actually run 16 for sure here. I mean, I would certainly cut Thor and Ob Nixlas to start with. I just don't think you need those. Honestly. I think this might be a Pentad Prizm cut. Yu-Gi-Oh Because it doesn't go to the yard and like. Yu-Gi-Oh End up being fine. Your man end up fine. You're not playing the Tinker. Need to cut three still. Yu-Gi-Oh Kind of a lot, actually. Yu-Gi-Oh it is. It is. I think you probably cut K Command as one of them. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I don't think you want to cut any of the can trips. You. You could cut a chain lightning or a suplex. Yu-Gi-Oh Maybe because you have bolt Chain lightning suplex. So the third one. Yu-Gi-Oh The two minute stuff is just so much harder to cast. Yu-Gi-Oh And then the last cut, just cut the Chromatic Star. I mean, I just think that's fine. Yu-Gi-Oh that's fine. And then I'll cut one Land. But I don't know what we need yet. So you don't need a plane, certainly. But Yu-Gi-Oh I'll cut that for now. So right now let's see how this looks. So we've got this actually looking. Looking more at the mana base. Yu-Gi-Oh If you cut Star and Prizm this Aragorn starts looking kind of sketchy. So maybe cut Aragorn and because you Beckett up the vv so your finishers are Oculus vv, Carnage Interpreter, and Gut to some degree. Third Path. Okay. And I think you could just put the star back in just for cantripy fixings. You're basically playing Lingering Souls off Tundra, plus a couple two fetches that get it. Wooded Foothills doesn't get it. And Chromatic Star manamorphose. But a big part of your Lingering Souls experience is going to be discarding it to one of your. Or surveilling it and then just flashing it back. You've got. You've got like three different things that discard in a surveil card. So that. That's already pretty good. I mean, this is like a turbo graveyard deck. Right. I mean, I can just fill up my graveyard so quickly. Dak Faden does it too. All these cheap cards. The strength of this deck is it's going to tear through its deck. The biggest weakness is that it doesn't have like, it just a counter spell or a mana leak or something. Would have been awesome. Yes. Right. Right. That is what we missed. And it doesn't have any acceleration or free counters. Like a daze would have been amazing here too. So this deck can get a little behind, but it does have a bunch of really efficient removal spells, cantrips, some decent threats, and Booster Tutor can kind of shore up some of your problems as well. I'm still so excited I got to draft Booster Tutor and not something more responsible. So right now we've got, let's see, three islands plus two or four, five, six, seven, eight. Does the wooded foothills get Blue? Ice So that's nine blue sources. So that's, I guess, good enough. Well, you have Brainstorm Preordain as ways that you're gonna use to get out of, you know, like a bad mana situation. Yu-Gi-Oh It gave you five mountains to start with. You're probably gonna, at most play, like, three mountains and the rest and more islands. So how about black? I guess that's the real question. So we've got swamp blood, crypt. The strand does not get it. The delta does, and the wooded foothill does. So that's four. Yu-Gi-Oh Plus the star. Yu-Gi-Oh right now that's four plus the star. For just Booster Tutor and Fire Company, I play one swamp. I think one swamp's probably fine. Okay. And then if I go up to five islands, that means red sources is three mountains. Volcanic blood, crypt. That's five. Polluted delta, wooded foothills is seven. No flood Strand also also gets volcanic. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh So eight. So the question is chromatic Star. Yu-Gi-Oh So do I want 10, 10, 8, or 9? 9 for islands and mountains, I mean, 10, 8. Certainly you might even be 11, 7. Okay, because I really want to hit the brainstorm, but I think I'd play 10, eight, because also, manamorphose is like another blue source. And there is one exact situation where metamorphosis is red source, which is when you cast it off tropical island. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh That kind of stuff matters. Yu-Gi-Oh I know it does. And look how much. Look, the trop pickup didn't do that much, except it makes wooden foothills and untapped blue. Even if you already have volcanic in play, which for Cryptic Command, could definitely matter. But more than that, that tundra pickup unlocks Lingering Souls. And I think Lingering Souls is great. The Aragorn didn't quite end up making it, though. I mean, it could if there was another cut instead of Star, where we could play that. It's possible. We could cut stern scolding and play Aragorn. Yes, we could cut that. Or we could cut one of the spot removal spells. Like we could. Yu-Gi-Oh I think I would just cut the stern scolding. Instead and just play the Aragorn. Because you have tundra, flooded strand, polluted deltas, three white sources. You also have Manamorphose and Chromatic Star. Yu-Gi-Oh And this deck really looks at a lot of cards. If Aragorn's bad, you'll preordain it to the bottom or you'll find a tundra. Like. Yu-Gi-Oh I think it's, I think this deck actually does want one more powerful card to end the game. So I like this deck. If you got to trade two of its cards for two counters a days in a mana league, I would actually say this deck's excellent for, for not opening anything. Zebra busted. Yu-Gi-Oh But as is, I actually think this deck's pretty good. I'm curious to see how you do with it. Okay. Yu-Gi-Oh I'll let you know. This is really Yu-Gi-Oh opening, Luis. I, I, I hope that our listener base can take away some of like anybody who has is archetypically kind of like me will hopefully take away the lessons that I'm taking away from it and places where I can focus my energy as far as improving at Cube. But Yu-Gi-Oh I, I, hopefully the show, you know, will be a proxy for other people getting to to have that same experience. This deck ended up being Brainstorm Probe, Preordained Booster, Tutor, Chain Lightning, Dragon's Rage, Channeler, Lightning Bolt, Chromatic Star, Skull Clamp, Dismember at the ones and then Evora. Expressive Iteration, Third Path, iconoclast, Manamorphose at 2. Lingering Souls. Aborin, Oculus, Gut Dack, Faden, VV Carnage Interpreter, Fire, Covenant at 3, Cryptic Command and Aragorn at 4. And then a dig through time. And then the lands are five island of Swamp, three Mountains, Tundra, Volcanic Blood Crypt, Tropical flooded Strand, polluted delta and wooded foothills at 6, 16 lands. Yu-Gi-Oh man. This deck to me is, is the real star here. Because this really does highlight a lot of the subtleties of cube play that you brought up with the mana bases. And you know, how many people would put lingering souls have taken and put lingering souls in this deck, Right? Like that, that was something that you were like, you spotted that right away and you're like, hey, this is something we need to go for. And you know, I think most people would, wouldn't even notice. I, it wasn't even on my radar, you know, as an example. And I play a lot of cube, so I think it's a really good version of that. I also think that it shows off mana bases and what you can put together where this to Me is what a lot of cube decks look like. It looks somewhat like a pile. Like if you were to describe this as an archetype, it would be difficult to do. You know, this isn't the artifact stack, this isn't Reanimator, this isn't Storm, this isn't something you can just put in a box. But this is what a lot of cube decks actually look like in the real world when you're drafting against actual people and you, you know, are doing it over and over again. And I think that's a really important viewpoint on how cube looks. Now today, not every deck fits in a neat little box and you need to get these little edges. And Luis is the master at that. I mean that he found each of these little holes and now, you know, we've got a complete deck. The other thing is probably the name of the episode is how to draft no power cube. Right. Like this is, you know, this. These are the type of decks that can actually try to keep up. Yu-Gi-Oh Sometimes you're just going to get overwhelmed, you know, if they have a couple of pieces of power in their opening hand or whatever. Decks like this that need to actually pay straight up mana for each of their spells are probably going to fall behind. And that's fair enough. But you know, this deck has a fair shot against most anything in in cube and that's, you know, sometimes the best that you should get. I think both of the decks we drafted are going to be pretty strong against like mid range decks. Like, I think this deck is going to do really well against creature decks. You have Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Dismember and Fire Covenant. Fire Covenant's huge. And the cumulative effect of having Brainstorm Probe, Preordain Cycling, Chromatic Star and Manamorphose dig through time Dac Faden. You're just gonna see any card that you really need a lot more often than most decks. Like compare the two decks. Right. The other deck is hoping to draw. Nadu agrees. It'll be good if it draws both. If this deck had a two, a similar two card combo, it would be way better at assembling. It just sees a lot more cards. Yu-Gi-Oh So when you play against a deck, if you can stall them a little, you can dig to Fire Covenant. You know, I think a lot of the times or against an artifact deck, you dig and find Dak Faden and then play it and steal one of their artifacts. You know, so totally, I think, I think this deck's gonna be pretty legit. And also don't, don't sleep on the power of Booster Tutor. This deck can cast every cards of every color, and Booster Tutor is a really strong card. One man, I look at 15 cards, cards that like, could be power or just cards you didn't draft that are Zebra narrow and specific and now's the perfect time for them. Like, there's plenty of cards in the cube that you would never put in your deck or would rarely put in your deck, but if you boost your tutor into them, it's like, oh, that is money. It's so funny because I, I came away from this thinking that maybe I underrated Booster Tutor a little bit. But here's the funny part. I don't think I've ever passed it, like, if I could conceivably, when you could cast it. Yu-Gi-Oh like, I love, like, that's one of my favorite cards to, to play, which I don't like, admitting that because it's one of the weird cards, but it is true. It's just Zebra fun and it's also interesting. Okay, let's call it a show there, Luis. Great stuff. Thanks for the guidance. I really appreciate it. And hopefully I became a slightly better cube player today. Definitely opened my eyes. If you want to find us on social media, Marshall, underscore LR and Luis is LSV pretty much anywhere. Make sure you check out his YouTube channel for awesome Cube content where you can see the master at work. Some cool Roto stuff over there as well, if you're into that, which I think everybody kind of is. It's just a really neat way to experience and to watch you play and to watch the whole thing unfold. We want to thank our Patreon supporters as well as Ultimate Guard for their support of the show. And of course, you can find everything over@lrcast.com Again, I mentioned it, but when the new episode goes up, it'll actually have a link down below right on the front page for the YouTube version of it. So, like, you know, we're an audio podcast, so for the most part you don't need to watch on YouTube, but we have it there for people that kind of consume their content through YouTube like I do, honestly. But for these specific episodes, these walkthrough style episodes, you know, it could be really nice to see what else is going on in the pack and kind of follow along so you, you can find the links to the, to the YouTube channel there. All right, that's going to do it for this one. We will see you next week. Well, Marshall, speaking of Roto, I Want to give LR listeners a sneak preview of what we're going to do for one of our upcoming ones here, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun. So the way Rotisserie Jeffs set our work right now we have like, let's say eight or up to 10, right? But let's say eight players and we're all picking from the vintage cube in order. And it snakes kind of like a normal, you know, like fantasy draft or what have you. You. The most awkward part about it is we kind of have like gray slash soft rules against hate drafting because we've done a lot of brodos, we've had a lot of experiences, and it kind of makes it go more smoothly if the general rule is don't make a pick that's just going to be griefing someone else or bad for someone else if it's not good for you. And to give you an example, if the person. Let's say you're, you're picking eight and pick seven, they take Time Vault. If you took both keys at that spot, we would be like, no, what are you doing? Like, that's, that's not fun. It's not fun for them. You're kind of wrecking their draft. And you're not also helping your draft because taking two keys in that spot is terrible pick for you. And obviously there's like less extreme versions of that. If you know, to give you an example, if you have, if you have a deck that could plausibly play those, like, let's say you're, you're an academy deck with grim monolith and manifold. It's totally fine to take a key. Most of the time people don't like, try to take double key in that spot. But the Time Vault player should know they've got to get a move on and take a key. If they wait too long, all bets are off. Likewise, if someone takes demonic consultation, you probably don't take Thassa's Oracle next pick because it's just not good for you or them. It's just kind of a griefing pick. But we've had a draft where someone was drafting Nadu and they took Oracle and that's, that's legit. And then someone else took Consultant. Jason played like that version. But there's no hard and fast forward rule. Right? Yu-Gi-Oh we just are generally trying to make it so, like don't, don't, don't basically take malicious picks just to ruin someone else's draft at no benefit to yourself. Well, I can tell you that our next thing is going to solve that completely. This is a new thing we're doing. We're going to do a 4 on 4, and in a 4 on 4 setting, there's no such thing as hate drafting. There's no rules against it. Because if player three, who's on team Red, takes time vault and team Blue decides we're going to take two keys, well, I actually think that's still a pretty bad pick from blues perspective. But because it's just two different teams, if one team wants to lower their own value, like expected value, and make their draft worse, the other team doesn't. Doesn't mind that. Right. There's. Hate drafting is naturally solved in this environment because you're presumably just trying to make picks that are better for your team. And sometimes that will be hate drafting and sometimes that one-of-one be. But there's no ambiguity if the team decides that they want to hate draft. You know, underworld breach, because someone has lion's Yu-Gi-Oh diamond and they're going to take that. Well, if the breach isn't good in your deck, then you cost yourself a lot, but you also cost them something. And now they have to pivot, maybe do something else with the lion's Yu-Gi-Oh I'm becoming an expert on that, by the way. Or. Or they'll just abandon it and move on. It all sounds really interesting, right? Like, it's just a completely different dynamic. Here's the twist. The twist is it's not going to be four on four. It's going to be four seats on each team. It's going to be the entire draft server on one side and it's going to be me drafting on my four decks on the other, which it's not unfair. It actually, arguably, adding the seventh person is more of a disadvantage than having, you know, six or whatever. Yu-Gi-Oh But basically the way we're going to do is Mac is going to be the captain on the other team. End of the day, the buck stops with him, as it should. He knows what he's doing and he actually, I think, is the best Roto drafter of all of us, including myself. He really has pioneered a lot of cool decks. Okay. He was the. He was the first person to take the double pick card really early. Like, he took it the first draft, we added it, but he took it like third because he wanted to draft like either a double Entomb or double Academy deck. He was the first person to one-of-one with Time Vault by drafting like a Welder Greaves Time Vault, like Transmute artifact deck. Oh, okay. So him having, being the captain is going to be good, but Yu-Gi-Oh they're gonna, they're gonna have four seats to work with. I'm gonna have four seats to work with, no hold barred. Like, if you want a full hate draft, if you think that's the best thing, then, then go for it. But you know, you, you got to one-of-one your own matches too. So I'm really excited to see how this works out. The decks have got to be pretty scrappy because right now in Roto, once people have all their lanes, there's not that much like hate drafting. There's a bit of jockeying for position in the beginning, but here it's like you can't float anything if you, if you try to float candelabra, someone's just gonna, gonna take it on the other team to make it so your academy deck doesn't get it. If you wait too long, if you should, you should. The corners become Zebra important because they can take consult Oracle and no one can interfere with that. Whereas if you take consult in the middle, someone else can take Oracle. There's going to be a lot of repurposing hate drafts. Imagine. Imagine someone starts with seat seven, has a white plume adventure and a mana crypt and a seasoned dungeon. Right. They're going down the white aggro route, but it's determined that they're the one who has to hate like the, the reanimate or underworld breach or whatever important card. Yu-Gi-Oh they might then pick up a couple cards that push them more in that direction. We could see some total pivots. We could see like a blue deck that has, happens to have a reanimate and in tune, but is otherwise like a blue red mid range deck. Like, I don't know what we're gonna see. It's gonna be really interesting. And of course me versus the server sounds like a, a good time. So I'm looking forward to this. It's probably going to be up in like, like, I don't know, two weeks or something like that. It depends when we get it done. Maybe, maybe we'll get it done this week, it'll be up next week. I, I'm excited. We'll, we'll, we'll see. But Yu-Gi-Oh I do love it. I don't think I, I don't think I have a big edge. But honestly, when it comes down to it that whatever edge I might lose in drafts or however close we are in drafts, I don't think it's like that I'm a better Roto draft than these guys. I really don't. I think that the gameplay I do, I do still have a bit of an edge and there's a lot of games to be played so like I've had a couple rotos here where I had kind of medium mid range blue decks. I can give myself a little bit more percentage, you know by drafting those decks. Whereas a drafting like the all in storm deck. Not a lot of room for me to leverage play skill though I did throw an onboard one-of-one so you know there, there, there's always room to play better. Yu-Gi-Oh but we'll see. I, I think it's going to be really close. I wouldn't be surprised if I lost. I do think I probably have a bit of an edge but we'll see it. It's also kind of interesting. Is it better to have seven or eight brains on it or one? I think probably the optimum number is like three but. Or four but. Yu-Gi-Oh but we'll see how it works out. Two to three comes to mind. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh but I'm excited for it. We'll see. We'll see where we go. Sam.
