Mirra Market EXPLOSION, Zverev First Slam + MORE! Serving Slabs #27

On today's episode of Serving Slabs, we look at the French Open champions, their markets and how they moved and even the runners up as well. And we announced the winner of the clay swing Fancy challenge that we did on ultimate fancy tennis.com thanks all for coming back to another episode of serving slabs. Episode 27 I think is today and we are covering the market updates for Mira Andreva, Alexander Zverev, Maya Valenska and as well as Flavio Caboli. So let's jump into this episode right away as we've got some markets to cover and why they change. So first up, Mira Andrea, 19 years old, wins her first ever Grand Slam. One that I was so excited to see. I was very lucky to open up packs Amira Andreva at the 2024 U.S. open when she's 17 years old, she's outside the top 20. Start collecting right away with that set. Knew she was, you know, at that point a really highly ranked teenager met her and she was absolutely fantastic. So nice, so fun to open packs with super into it and you know, just watch basically every single match of her career now since then. So I, I've watched two years or so of endur matches. I've seen the highs, I've seen the lows, seen everything in between and this for sure is the high of the high as she has now become a Grand slam champion. The third youngest since 2000 to win a Slam title. She was same age as Coco, just you know, some of my days less from her US Open as well. So youngest since then I do believe in 2023 and she's had a lot of market movement for good reason. Royalty Rookie based number on 99$18 back in April now up to 157 most recent sales. Crazy. June 6 Sapphire Orange rookie PSA 10425 February as of the Victory 650 now June 6 Youthquake Gold auto non graded numbered out of 50 that is April 6 for 53 dollars. Now 150 dollars. So even the 2025 autos are moving very well. And then Sapphire based PSA 10 $19 in May just two and a half weeks ago and now 89 after the victory for Sapphire base rookie PSA 10 on June 6. So Astro Mirandreva, she is now number one in the WTA race which means that she has the most points in the calendar year 2026 and she has got a legit shot world number one by the end of the year. Now will it happen? I'd say unlikely right now I think SAB Linkin r baka. You know, they had really tough losses here at the Australian Open with Sabbath sab link as being one of the worst losses I think I've seen in a while. You know, up a double break in the second set as world number one, seemingly rolling on her way to, you know, winning the final or making it to the final at least. And she didn't win a game after that, so that was pretty insane. So for her, you know, that was a really disappointing loss and I think that she'll have a lot to avenge the rest of the season. But for Miranda, huge opportunity here. The thing is, is that her mental capacity went up majorly in this tournament compared to the rest of the year. And she even said in an interview that she made a change. She decided now is the time. Just go all in on keeping, you know, composure and seeing how that goes. And I will say it went pretty dang well. So I hope that she keeps that going, going, going forward. Um, if you look back to Wimbledon last year, she made it to the core finals, lost to Benic after she lost a tie break and kind of just lost, you know, her mental cool at that point and couldn't finish, you know, that match in three sets. And as for, you know, her this year, it's a completely different mirror. Andreva, she's 19 years old with all the weapons that she needs really to contend for world number one. I mean, and she's only going to get better. Two areas that she can improve on is just, you know, the finishing ability, the power in her game, but she's got so much variety. The serve is really good and I'm excited to see how she does going forward. And her market is obviously explored for those reasons. I've collect her for a couple years now. I've kind of bought and sold across the entire length of the last two years. You know, sold some when she won her back to back 1000 last year, but bought some when the market dipped a lot. Sold some now when she won the French Open, you know, just kind of, you're reacting with the market and hey, I'm still looking for more if I can find some. If she has a tough grass season after coming off this French Open title, which I hope she doesn't, I think she can, you know, go pretty far. Wimbledon, make a semifinal, maybe even make a final. We'll see if it happens. But just really happy for her and awesome to see and all the shout out to Conchita Martinez, who I actually have a red auto number five from 2021 Chrome, which is a PSA2. I posted it to Instagram before she won the final. I think she deserves a ton of credit. I might as well just show it to you now here on camera. You can't really see it too well probably, but PSA 2 Red Auto 5 on card I pulled from 21 Chrome back when that actually for my birthday last year opened this case and the back was destroyed. Super, super destroyed back. It's like peeling all of the lamination off. I decide to agree it anyways, I was kind of hoping for a one, but I got two. All right, on to Maya Valinska. I think I said Valinsky earlier. Valinska. Sorry if I, you know, mispronounce that name. Polish player who has 114 or 113, I believe. Coming into the French Open one qualities won three straight matches, got into the main draw, ended up winning at most nine straight matches and she won six matches to get to the final. And now she's up to 21 in the world, which is a huge movement. I mean this is a life changing event here, having to qualify into Grand Slams. I think that this was her third ever main draw, which is insane. I don't even know if she's actually won more than one match as Slam or even won any matches before this year at Slam. And now she made it all the way to the final playing variety tennis, you know, moon balls, misdirection, drop shots, all this different stuff. But she can, she could juice it up a little bit when she wanted to, but you know, it kind of came to the end there in the final, which is, I think, no shame at all, just insane run and take all, you know, those prize winnings for her, like that's more than she's made in her whole career for prize earnings and, and now she will qualify into any term in the world that she wants to. And that is huge for her. She, you know, has got a huge opportunity this year to stack as many points as she can to make sure it keeps going past this year. I think we've seen in the past some players do something like this and then, you know, kind of run out of steam. And then you see them within a year or two, you know that they don't have the opportunity that they once had. So hopefully for her, she seems like a super nice girl. I know she's 24 so it took a little bit to get there versus someone like Mira, obviously. But I hope that we see a lot more for, for years to come. And I Am interested, intrigued to see how she does on grass because I'm not sure how well her game will translate to grass off the clay. But I hope she does really awesome at Wimbledon. She'll be seated as long as she gets a wild card, which I would think that Wimbledon will get clowned for a long time if they don't give her a wild card. One of my biggest gripes actually with tennis in total is that there is no reason in my opinion why they should be locking the entry pool prior to Roland Garros. I mean, situations like this, situations like someone maybe is like at 90 and does poor at the French Open after doing okay last year. Like, why should someone who does bad get rewarded versus someone that does good get reward or doesn't get rewarded? It doesn't really make sense to me. I understand that there's things about people having to lock in their travel schedules, players and stuff like that, but at the same time, I think they need to figure something out. Push back Wimbledon by a week, move the French Open earlier by a week, do something to make it. Because right now you have four Grand Slams in a year. Why should one Grand Slam have no factor on the other for the entry pool? And on top of that, the seeds do adjust before Wimbledon. Just because the entry pool locks doesn't mean that the seeds aren't locked. The seeds do change based up until I think maybe two weeks before Wimbledon. So if you're already doing that, it's, it's just, is so ridiculous in my opinion. They have to give her a wild card. She's made the French Open final. You know, they're going to give wild cards to British players ranked like 200 in the world if they, they don't give it to her. And that's just in my opinion, not what they should do. So we'll see. And I mean, I've obviously on top of that, a lot of people know about Serena Williams coming back to play doubles right now at Queens Club. She has cleared all the protocols and she's playing with in BOCO doubles at Queen's Club, which in my opinion is, you know, to get herself ready to possibly get a wild card for singles in a Wimbledon. Like will she play doubles at Wimbledon? Almost certainly if she's playing at Queens Club, obviously. But I think that she does want to play singles. I would assume at Wimbledon. We'll see how that goes down as well. So I don't know exactly when the wild card cutoff is. I think it's maybe like three weeks before Wimbledon. So it's going to come up pretty soon here and we'll know some information. But asher Maya, her first Sapphire Orange was $6 back in April. $90 June 6 before the women's final. Unbelievable increase in price. Kind of like a once in a couple year type of price increase right there. Pretty crazy. So if you pulled some Maya's and you're holding them or if you're a Polish tennis fan, you're buying them and now you have them. I mean unbelievable price swing there for Maya Valinska. So onto the French or the the clay SW sorry clay court swing Ultimate Fantasy Challenge which include the French Open and other tournaments as well. We have our top three. These three receive Slapstocks break credit. Number one gets 100. Number two gets 50. Number three gets 25 for our breaks and Fanatic slide for a tennis breaks. J Russ takes first at 17,734. Big Cat takes second at 16,692 and Andreva's Forehand to takes third at 16,457. Now the interesting thing about this list is that Alexander Zverev, his win at the French Open drastically changed these standings. It really shifted basically the entire standings because there was a group of people who had Zverev in their team who wasn't really getting much points because he was a two seed and was beating players who were, you know, not seeded for a while. So he wasn't really adding them any points. And then he beat three seeded players in a row and won the Roland Garros which gave him a ton of points. So number one, Jruss vaulted up there because of Zverev. He also had Menchik which was big. But number two is interesting. Big Cat did not have Zverev and still got second which is impressive because he had Matteo Arnoldi who gained like 8,000 points across his clay swing because he was number 100 something in the world and ended up turning into a semifinal run which was very disappointing to see him have to withdraw with the virus. So if Ardaldi wins against Kaboli, almost certainly Big Cat gets first. Now I wasn't really confident him winning after all that match time on court but either way congrats to you three. So as for the men's we got Zverev winning his first ever Grand Slam title. I have a lot of thoughts on this. I will try to summarize them as best as I can. 1. You know, congrats to him for getting through the draw and winning this title. One center lost. You know, kind of all the pressure was on him to get through and win it. He's the guy who's only guy in the draw. I think at a certain point, maybe when they got to the quarterfinals, they even appeared in a Grand Slam final. At a certain point in his career he lost three of them. Two of them he lost when he was leading in the in the matches. And for him to come through that and win it without, you know, choking along the way, I'd say was big for him. Secondly, I don't rank this Grand Slam title as high on the list as I would other titles because his draw was super easy to get there. In fourth round, he played a lucky loser. He ended up playing a Rafa Hodar, who was extremely gassed, you know, to Hodar's, you know, failure for not getting through his matches earlier in the previous rounds. And then in the semifinal, he plays a Menshik, who clearly was gassed as well after he played a ton on court as well and had some sort of ailments going on with the neck. Possibly, possibly stuff like that. And then the final, he plays Flavio Kaboli, who definitely made it a match. Caboli didn't play in the semi. He had three days off. I definitely think that was not good for him. I wish he did play Arnaldi and played three or four sets in that and then got into the final, was all warmed up. Cause he lost the first set, 6:1 like that. Was he what? Clearly wasn't really ready to go. And then he won the second set, almost won the third set, lost already the end, then won the fourth set, epic tiebreaker, and then just ran out of gas in the fifth set. So in the end, Zver did beat one top 10 player who was Kaboli, who was ranked number 10, although actually outside of the top 10, I should say, at the time of the tournament. So technically he didn't be a top 10 player on the way to winning this final because Alcarez withdrew. That made it so that Kabo was 11, but was seated 10. And in the end, I. I just got to say, you know, he did it. He finally won one. But when you compare it to other players that even won one Slam, I don't think that this is really up there on this list. Like you look at Medvedev. Medvedev's title came in 2021 US Open. He beat Novak Djokovic, who was number one. Novak was going for the calendar Grand Slam at the time, and he beat him in straight sets. Like, I don't really put that in that class. I'm not a fan of Z personally. I think a lot of people aren't for different reasons. I know there are some fans out there, so I'll move on and talk about his card market, His Sapphire Gold First PSA 10 Number out 50 to $78 back in April, at the end of April. Fast forward to after. Actually that Was, yeah, after winning the French Open, $250 for his Sapphire Gold PSA 10. So a huge upswing there for that card. He doesn't have any autographs in the market from tops, only some IP ones I think. And these, these first cards from 2024 have been selling pretty well after he won. So congrats to Zver if he finally got his. Maybe it gets the monkey off his back and he plays a little bit looser in these slams. But either way I, I don't really rate this, you know, in the class of a lot of other slam winners. Me personally, if you want to be mad at me for that, you can, but I, I just don't. As for the runner of Flavio Caboli, you know, he had a great run to get there. He actually was probably one of the best matches for Zverev come the final because he played the least amount of sets to get there along with Zverev. He only lost one set and then didn't even have to play in the semi. So he actually probably played the least amount of sets in total in the entire tournament compared to anyone. So that was the best matchup I think to play Zverev at the end. He beat him the last time that they met. Just ran out of gas in the, in the fifth set. To be honest, he had break points on Zverev the first two games as very concerned served. It could have been way closer than it was in the, in the fifth. And as for his market, it's been doing extremely well. I would actually say that Kaboli's markets do even better than Zverev's market at this point because I think it was more than expected for Kaboli especially when Sinner went down. I think everyone's just expecting Zverev. If he actually could keep it together, he'd win this, which he was the by far biggest betting favorite once Sinner went down and his aces black number two, which is actually my sale, sold for $153 March 9th. So good job Aaron for selling that before he makes a slam final. And now the youthquake numbered off to sold for $350 on June 5 going into the final as before yesterday's final. Now that's a crazy difference in price because normally these aces are outselling the Youthquakes by almost double. I do think that The ACEs number two is going to be over $500 if it's sold today, especially based on the Youthquake number two. So I know this isn't a one to one comparison. But I think it just shows an even bigger market shift for Caboli than anything because that aces aces in 2025 are by far more desirable than the Youthquakes. There's a lot of sales data to prove it. And this one sold for $200 less than the youthquake number two. Did you know before going into the Spinal. So that is our Roland Garros recap. All the market updates I have for today. I want to cover the four finalists between the men's and the women's. Congrats, Zamira. Congrats, Zvera. I've got their both of their first Slam titles. It's actually the second time, I believe, in the open air. We've had two first time slam title winners which the last time it happened it was Radicanu and Medvedev in 2021. And I did think there was possibly going to be a little, you know, I wanted superstition going on there. I was like, oh my gosh, Radicanu, she won as a qualifier. Is Maya going to win as a qualifier? Medvedev won his first slam title after, you know, playing, being. I think he has just got up to world number one slightly after that, but he was kind of up there at, at that point, top two, three player in the world. And then you got Zverev, who's been up there and hasn't won one yet, and then he wins one. All that to be said, is that a long rambling way to say it? Mira reversed the juju and ended up winning her first slam title. So I'm really excited about that. Been a big Mira fan for a while now. So congrats to the two of them.
