I feel like we've just turned into a recording at night now instead of in the mornings. It sure seems like it. It really does. It's fine. I like it. Austin here. Hey, I don't want everybody to get up and cheer all at once, but I put some laundry away today. That's pretty big. There you go. Welcome. In one. One week you're climbing Mount Everest, the next week you're folding laundry. It's a tough life out here. We got a show for you guys today. We have some information post Worlds about Worlds's attendance and some records they broke and how, like, barely anyone got into these special events that they hosted for Pokemon xp. We have famous people doing famous things, like James Turner returning to Pokemon and Pikachu meeting Mr. Tim Apple. I guess Tim Apple doesn't work for. Well, he does technically work for Apple. He's just not the CEO anymore. Yu-Gi-Oh we do have some Pokemon Sleep news, but there is no new event this week in Pokemon Sleep. This is like the week before Mewtwo and we don't have that. I don't think we had anything new about Mewtwo prior to that. It comes in two weeks from this episode. But they did reveal a new accessory for Pokemon Sleep. And then speaking of spending money, you can buy $400 worth of Blu Rays. I'm not sure who's watching Blu Rays. No, I say that and, like, three people in the YouTube comments will be like, I actually. Physical media, I love. No, Yu-Gi-Oh I was going to say we have to preserve physical media. Don't say no one watches them. No one does. That's the reality is no one does. I have probably 40 Blu Rays in my basement. I don't know the last time I. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't have anything that plays a disc. I have the Boomer Edition PS5 to play Blu Rays. I don't think I've ever used the Blu Ray player in it. Yu-Gi-Oh no, I have the Exact same one. I don't know if I've ever used it. I almost bought it. I almost bought that one to play Blu Rays and then opted to just keep my Xbox that has no disc drive. So there we are. You know what I'll do is sometimes I'll have a Blu Ray of a movie I want to patch auto just so much easier to rent it on YouTube for a dollar and just stream it to my TV than trying to put the disc in. I was looking at movies last night and I was like, oh, I own this movie, but this is only like 299. Oh my God. And I don't know where in my basement exactly this is. But then I have to switch to my PS5 and I gotta. I gotta. I've never. It could be broken for all I know. It's just the $3 to buy the movie is not. Yu-Gi-Oh it's so much better. We stood in line together and complained that the line behind the scene that Pokemon invited us to breakfast. But breakfast was just like oatmeal. I'm not exaggerating. It was just like oatmeal and pastries. And I don't think anyone, like, really enjoyed breakfast. It was not the best breakfast. We bonded over how breakfast was maybe not the best. At least it was free. You know, you could say that. Chris Brown is the director of Global Esports and an event producer at the Pokemon company. Thank you, Casey. There you go. Getting badges for Pokemon XP in the world championship quote. The public is unaware of the level of demand. Brown said. And so unfortunately, see, this is when we get to the Apple part. I was taught by Apple that you don't say the word unfortunately because that means bad. Unfortunately, we lost all your photos. Yet Apple has a. Have you ever gone to an Apple store? They have like a very specific way to talk to you and they're told to talk this way. So you know, you're not supposed to say the word unfortunately. You're supposed to say, like, as it turns out, because it sounds better. Sounds better. Doesn't sound. It does sound better. You're also not supposed to tell people you don't know the answer. You're supposed to say, I don't know. Let's find out together. Oh, geez. I'm giving Chris Brown some really good media. So instead of saying and so, unfortunately. And so, as it turns out, 50,000 people coming to Pokemon XP, but more than that number gets disappointed of not being able to sign up. Chris Brown. Sound better if you. If you put it like that. Yu-Gi-Oh As it turns out. As it turns out. Well, as it turns out, more than 130,000 people signed up for Pokemon XP and only. So, Yu-Gi-Oh I guess, what, 80,000 people got rejected? Yu-Gi-Oh Yep. Which. That is a lot. As it turns out, 80,000 is bigger than 50,000. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh For sure. Yu-Gi-Oh Interest lists for the signups of the three day passes to Pokemon XP. The first official Pokemon fan convention began on April 2, which was seven months after it was announced during the closing ceremonies. Pokemon XP occurred at the same time as the world championship would only saw 30,000 attendees, more than double of the 2024 World Championships. This year's demand far outnumbered supply, Brown said, with more than 130,000 people throwing their names in the hat for three day or single day badges. More than twice the number of fans were granted access, but that also include competitors and their families. Quote Basically anytime your demand well outstrips your supply, the sort of interest lists into a lottery is the only real way you can handle it. Brown said. Brown described this as the first true. And if we're set up as a first come first serve online purchases system, the system would crash and people would error out making it a worse experience for fans basically. That's basically a random chance anyways. Quote the only thing I can do from an event operator's perspective is think about how do we increase supply over time. From a system perspective, there's honestly not a better system than interest list into lottery for that. I mean, he's right. If it's like first come, first serve, it's just like the Ticketmaster situation. Yu-Gi-Oh that. I think that is more of a mess than the lottery for sure. I don't know where that were people blaming like. I don't know if people were blaming the Pokemon company because they like didn't. I don't know how I'm trying to word this. It's like of course there's going to be a. A ca. A capacity, like a max capacity. So you have to assume that if you didn't get a ticket, it's because they sold out and you just didn't get one. So you'd have to assume that like I don't know. I just feel like he's answering a question to like why people are mad. But people aren't mad because they hit capacity. You know what I'm saying? Like, it. It just seems like a weird excuse, I guess. I know what you're saying. I think there's like, there's like two parts, right? This is why I think it will be actually easier to get a ticket to Singapore. Although I'm sure they will still do a lottery system because they did a lottery system for Hawaii and they did a lottery system for Anaheim and Anaheim had 30,000 people and most people who wanted to go went. I know. Obviously some people didn't get tickets. Now you, you go from 30,000 to 20,000. Ultimately doubling the amount of attendance. 30,000 to 50,000. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh sorry. Add 20. In my head, there was math that was being done somewhere. So you're doubling it, but you're also. So I think them advertising it as a Pokemon convention worked. Yu-Gi-Oh Because 130,000 people applied. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, just like it's so much easier for someone to be interested in going to an event that just encapsulate. Encapsulates Pokemon as a whole instead of just like, oh, here come watch the competitive. And so I think more people are interested in that, but I also think that it depends on location. Like, that is true. You're just going to get more people that want to go to San Francisco than want to go to Anaheim. That's just like, facts. Yes. You know, so I, I'm not saying, like, put it in Butte, Montana so that nobody signs up. I just mean, like, it, like, obviously there's going to be a much bigger number. I wonder how many people applied last year in total. Right. Like, I'm sure it wasn't 130,000, but I do wonder if those numbers do, like, are somewhat equal in, like, what they could let in versus what applied or if it just was way outweighed by maybe it being a Pokemon convention as well. But also just San Francisco. You're just going to get more people. If nothing else, there's just more people that live there. More people with a chance to apply to something like that. Maybe more people that are interested in Pokemon in that big city versus something like Anaheim. Like the, The. The buffer to Hawaii is. Hawaii is just the most expensive state to travel to in the United States. Right. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh And there are more ways to get to San Francisco than just flying. There's only one way to get to Hawaii. Right. Right. The easy access to San Fran is. Is much easier. Yu-Gi-Oh Go by boat. I guess I was gonna say, is there a boat that goes from somewhere in California to Hawaii? May probably you could. I'm sure the track. But ultimately there's one way to get Hawaii. And Yu-Gi-Oh genuinely, Yu-Gi-Oh people are flying. But like the. The same for Singapore. Like, Yu-Gi-Oh there are a lot of Asian countries around Singapore, but if it's not being marketed as a convention this time, I would assume that demand goes down. I would think so. Because now they're saying Pokemon 2027 is in Singapore or the World Championships. And they. Well, I guess they didn't say it, but it's very clear as Dave that XP is not coming back for next year. Right. It's what they didn't say that told us. So do people look at that and go, well, because I wonder what it would have been. I wonder what the conversation would have been like if they said Singapore is Worlds and xp. And then people are like, okay, how do I figure out how to go to this? I think them not saying it's xp, people go, okay, well, I'll just skip this year. But I. Okay, I sort of agree. But like, there's two groups of people. There's people who have been to a Pokemon XP and there's people who haven't been to a Pokemon xp. And if you've been to a Pokemon Zebra. Sorry, there's three groups of people. It's people who've been to a Pokemon xp, people who haven't been to a Pokemon xp, people and people who've been to a Pokemon XP and a previous Worlds. If you're in the group that's been to a Pokemon XP and the previous Worlds, you know that there's not a huge difference between the two. So, like, I would assume Worlds next year I would be like, oh, well, that's going to be fairly similar to like Worlds last year, you know, and if you haven't been to a Pokemon xp, then this. Not having a Pokemon xp, you think that's going to detract them from going, like, because they knew what they were signing up for, but then they didn't get to it, you don't think they'd want to go next year? Yu-Gi-Oh I think, I think if, if there is no xp, which seems all very true. I don't know why they would just like randomly announce it, like six months. Actually, there is an xp. I think realistically, people look at that and go, okay, I'll just, I'll just wait. Like, think of how many. Like, think of how mad America. To be fair, in this conversation, we are talking about Americans. Absolutely. Yes. Yu-Gi-Oh but remember the, the. It was in dc. I came on the show however long ago, that was like six years ago, and I said, most people should go to a Worlds. I think it's worth it. I think it does feel like a convention. And then. And that. And I had a great time at dc. Right. Like, I paid for my own flight, my own hotel. I did all that, had a great time. And then Covid happened and then there was no Worlds. And then it was in London. Just to disclose that Pokemon has. Now that we're talking post Covid, Pokemon has paid for my flight and my hotel for all of ftc. Don't be mad at me. So then it was, it was London and then it was Yokohama and then ultimately and then was Hawaii, which you could argue Hawaii is the US that's very true on paper. But three worlds in a row where it is not touching. 48 states of the United States. And Americans were upset. Yu-Gi-Oh they were very mad. And now it is going to Singapore. And I think that conversation comes back around of like, well, it's, it's not any of the 48 states. So we'll skip this year. And on top of that, there's no xp, so that's even more of a reason to skip. So I, I do think. And going, going back to like Singapore. Yu-Gi-Oh So this is a long way to say yes, you're right, Bobby. I do think the location dictates whether people or not want to go. Yu-Gi-Oh Because as cool as London was and as cool as Yokohama is and as cool as Hawaii is, I think those are three places that are, that are touristy. A lot of Americans were really upset and demanded it to be on the 48 states because that would be easier for them to go to, cheaper for them to go to, more reasonable for them to go to. Right, right. And to be fair, not to be fair to Americans, but to be fair in the situation for Pokemon, the United States is their biggest market. It makes sense that they would want to bring it back into the United States because I feel like there's just potentially more people, more people from one specific country, I guess that would go in that case. But Yu-Gi-Oh I, I think, I do think Pokemon XP has some part in it. I just feel like location is the bigger factor. Right. Yu-Gi-Oh I'd be curious to see the sign up numbers for Singapore when that comes out with the lack of XP and the lack of it or and the fact that it's in Singapore to see what the signup numbers were. Yu-Gi-Oh Over the years, more and more activities have included in the world championships for fans not competing. One of these, for example, was the chance to get an autograph from an artist which was about 300 ish or.03% of attendees were able to participate in. Brown said a little over 2,000 people were able to participate in a special activity like an autograph section or autograph session or a workshop. This small number compared to the more than 50,000 people who signed up for a chance to participate. But well, technically 49,999 because I didn't sign up for any of them. But Brown, Brown said the same amount of. Brown said it's the same percentage as have been able to participate in these activities in previous years. Okay. I mean, like, I get that they can only get, like, for the artists specifically, there's only so many they can get. Right. There's only so much time that the artists have to like, sign autographs and things. But, like, I don't know, you could get more artists. I mean, you could get more people than get a chance to get signature or to get autographs. There was so there was five artists. One being Jerky, one being Yukimori. Those are probably the two most popular ones they had. They all. I think they all had three day autograph, like Friday, Saturday, Sunday autograph sessions. And I think they were two hours long. Okay. Maybe one or two of the artists only had like two day, two sessions. But Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, you pretty much, ultimately, you stand in line, you get your poster, they sign it, they might ask you what your favorite Pokemon is. And that's like the whole interaction. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I guess that is up from last year. Right. Didn't they only have three last year? I think they had five last year, but they just alternated on days a little bit, didn't they? Yu-Gi-Oh I don't think they. I don't think they assigned every day. Yu-Gi-Oh Okay. But I kind of like. You're right, Bobby. They could just say just. They could just bring more artists. But like, what. Bringing six artists is what. Maybe instead of 2,000 people get experience, it's like 2,200 people get an experience. I like that they. I kind of like that they bring five. Because then in the hall, there's. There's like, here's these five artists cards that are blown up. Yu-Gi-Oh And so it feels like that year they're. It's like they're the employee of the month. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Because they're being showcased this year where, like, I feel like Yukimori shouldn't be showcased every year. I mean, it's Yukimori though, right? Like, I don't know, maybe she just loves it. But there's so many artists. Yu-Gi-Oh it would be. I'm sure there are tons of artists that, like, they don't want to be featured at all. Like, I don't think. Yu-Gi-Oh And no one knows what rend looks like. Right. Rent is also a newer artist, but. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I don't think Yukimori was in Anaheim, I think. I don't think so. No, she. She wasn't. No, I don't. Yu-Gi-Oh So Yukimori did, I think, signings, and she did the. The workshop. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh They made a sculpted, a ditto, I think That's a. That's such a cop out. As like, a Pokemon you can make is ditto. Yu-Gi-Oh but it was all the rave. Yu-Gi-Oh I know, I know. But like. But Yu-Gi-Oh unfortunately you're right. It is probably the easiest one to do. Yu-Gi-Oh It's like just make a blob. Yu-Gi-Oh Next year we'll do Grimer. Yu-Gi-Oh At the same time, I get it. Because they don't want people to walk away disappointed because it was like, too complicated to make it. That's fair, I guess. Okay. We're gonna do the Charisma this year. Yu-Gi-Oh You can worry to do Necrozma. We're doing Guzzlord next year. Jeez. There are some obvious things we can do to make things better. Brown says. And if anyone has any suggestions, I'm always all ears. But I don't think anyone in the industry's really cracked that. That's just part of the challenge he's referring to. Like how there's such a demand to do these little experiences and there's not enough people to. You can't clone Yukimori. I mean, maybe you can make Yukimori out of clay. Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimately, Brown says the excess success of events and priorities for changes will come from attendees. Feedback. For every single event, the Pokemon company measures fan feedback with surveys. The results are converted into a net promoter score. NPS Apple has one of those too. They may appoint to read every single text respond, which is more than 3,000 from last year's world champion. Last year, pin trading was our second highest NPS score of the activities we did at the 2025 World Championships. So we got 12 pin stations at Pokemon XP. We have. We've gotten 300,000 pins to give out at no cost. We did that in response to how well it was received. But now we have a new problem. Very big lines and a lot of demand for those. So we're going to learn and try to make that better. Since publishing this story, the pin rally at Pokemon XP was canceled in its entirety. No reason was given for the cancellation notice in the Pokemon Events app. But the after mentioned very big lines may be the cause. Yu-Gi-Oh Yes. Yes, they may. Will there be a Pokemon XP next year? Brown says for that, they're going to see how this year's event goes and decides what comes next after the feedback and really understand how people received it this year. Regardless of Whatnot feedback. Brown said the one big shift they're looking for is to make the number of competitors invited is to. Is to make number of competitors invited to the world championships, we qualified 3,300 players globally. We've got about, we've got about 2,700 that showed up. That's crazy. Actually. That's a crazy. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Our intent over the next five years is to try to double that number of competitive players who qualify. Qualified. Wait, hold on. They can't even get all the qualified players to show up and they want to try to double the amount that are qualified? Yu-Gi-Oh sure. I guess, I mean, I guess they'd get More people would come. Even more people didn't show up. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh True, true. Okay. We're going to look outside the US Obviously. Brown said we have be. We have to because the Pokemon World Championships is meant to serve the world and to do it most effectively. Effectively, it needs to move around between markets. So fans anywhere know that and players know that there's a chance that Worlds could be coming close to them at some point. The first time the World Championship was held outside of North America was in the first time the oh, North America was 2022 in London. I was going to say Canada, but in North America, United Kingdom. The following year it was held in Yokohama, Japan. Typically, the Pokemon company announces this the next year's location at closing ceremonies, which then was Singapore. I know again I that rumor of like, oh, they signed a multi year deal with the Moscone Center. I don't, I don't know where that like, I know it came from a card party event, but I don't know Legs. Well, it came from someone. It didn't come from card party. It came from an executive at a partnering company to the Pokemon company. We'll never trust that person again. And they told somebody and then that person said something. Okay, Yu-Gi-Oh well, but on here it mentioned that he was looking to see about how XP goes this year to see if they were going to do it next year. We know that they didn't bring XP to Singapore. So it feels like maybe next year 2027 was just going to be a buffer year with no XP at all. And then maybe next year 2028, they bring it back. Yu-Gi-Oh because they, they're already planning next year. Right. They can't. Yu-Gi-Oh they weren't. They're not going to just. They're not going to in a month at it after they see how the response from this year is and just say, oh, actually we need this much more space, you know, for, for that. It's interesting that they, they said the, the net promoter score for the pins for Anaheim was really high. They said it was the Second highest on the list. But it felt like at the time, or again, if you just read social media, you people were like, oh, the pin stuff was really frustrating. Yu-Gi-Oh Specifically with the Mercro pins. Yu-Gi-Oh the Mercro pin and kind of the Toad School pin too. Like, people having to go to staff or a creator to get a pin. I feel like they didn't like that because one you were. It was like a moving target. Right. You had to find the person versus, like the stations just being set up somewhere you knew where to go. So, like one, you had to find a creator or find a staff member, and then you had to hope that they actually had a pin, which we did not most of the time. Yu-Gi-Oh well, because I remember I was talking to people last year and they're like, Yu-Gi-Oh I'm just hiding my badge because I don't want to tell people I don't have any. Right. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh But last year there were some. Some of the booths had, like, goals to do. Yu-Gi-Oh But even one of the booths, I remember it was like, sign up for an email list or something. Yu-Gi-Oh And that's how you got the pin. Could you imagine that with the Umbreon situation of not only when you get up front, the one that was like, too complicated was sit down and play a retro game, and that was taking too long. So that booth just ended up handing out the pins and not requiring to do the task. No. You had to tell them who your favorite Pokemon was. Oh, was there. Was there other one that did that too? They just switched it to that. They were just like, Yu-Gi-Oh we're not doing the retro game thing. Tell me who your favorite Pokemon is. And I was like, farfetch'd like, great. And then it had to be a pin. Okay. I think there is something to like. Obviously they didn't run out of pins. Right. They had more than enough pins. I do think 12 pins was maybe too many. A lot of people. I'm not. A lot of people did look forward to XP to collect free pins. We talked about this last week's show, but I. I also. Maybe they should stop picking Zebra popular Pokemon if they're giving away free things. Like, it is no secret that the two most popular pins are also the two. Two of the most popular Pokemon in the tcg, which is Charizard and Umbreon. There's like, no, like, there. That's not a coincidence that those two, like, no one's out there scalping for rawthorn pins. I'm sorry, maybe somebody on ebay is Selling one or two of them. But Faraw Thorn is not competing with Umbreon. It's not happening. Not happening. But I feel like there does need to be a level of a task. And I don't know if that, like, even in the sense of Hawaii, was really good at having specific routes. And if it was something as complete this route in Pokemon Go and show your phone to get a pin. Does. Does that fix that problem? I don't know. I think it helps, but I. I don't know if it fixes it. Like, at one point does. Do people just take, like, a screenshot of it? Right. Just, like, send each other the screenshot, but also, like, scanning your badge is supposed to only let you get one. Mm, Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know. So there was enough for everyone? Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. I think what they should do is instead of giving you an individual pin, what you should do is you should. You should have to do a certain amount of tasks. So, like, let's say there's like eight different tasks, and each one of those tasks, like, correlates with a specific pin or something. And then when they're done, you go and you just get the set of pins. So you go and do a bunch of different things, and then you're only going to get the set. The whole set of pins. Once you have finished all of the tasks on the list, something along those lines where, like, the pin, like, getting the pin isn't what you're waiting for the entire time. Like, you're doing other things that then translate to a pin later. I feel like that would keep them from having, like, gigantic lines throughout the day and through, like, people just waiting for this because they'd be doing all the things. And then as they're completing those things, as that's like, that's coming in, then they're giving the pins out. And it's like, not all going to happen at the same time because everybody's going to complete those things at a different, like, at a varying pace. So it's like, if they have enough pins for everybody one-of-one do something else so that, like, it forces them to come to you at different times of the weekend rather than like, oh, we all want Umbreon, so we alt art going to rush to this booth at the exact same time. Keep that from. They just need to make it so that it's not all happening at the exact same time. Yu-Gi-Oh I just, like, it didn't work in South Korea either. Like, South Korea for that Magikarp card was go around and get like, six physical stamps on a stamp sheet. Mm. And then what happened is people were running between it to get the stamps to then cash in for the Magikarp. So that didn't, like, working. It's not American. Only problem going back to, like, Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know what this. Stop making, like, this is why we can't have nice things, I guess. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, you're right. Don't work. Yu-Gi-Oh maybe. Yu-Gi-Oh maybe. No free things. Like, I mean, they gave us that free Rayquaza when we Beckett up our badge. That was cool. And then when you went to the. The Chase center, you got the Pikachu card. And the Giants game, you got the Pikachu card. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know. I don't know what the solution is. That worked, like. Yu-Gi-Oh but there's a price associated with both of those things, right? There was a price associated with getting the requisite. It was the entrance into the thing. There was a price associated with. Well, I guess not the one at the Chase center, but with the Giants game, you had to have a ticket to the Giants game. Right. There's a price associated with that. And, like, the pins, there's a price associated, but it's not, like, at the same time. It's like, okay, now we're here, and we're all going to go rush to, like, the same booth, and now we have a line that's, you know, breaking fire code, I guess. Like, if your goal is to stop scalping, which I don't even think that was the issue, like, to be completely serious, I don't think scalping was the issue. I think people were legitimately excited to get these pins. I think some were. Sure. But out of 50,000 people, even if, like, a thousand of them were scalping. Right. Yu-Gi-Oh but it doesn't take that many people to start forming a big line. Absolutely. No. Yu-Gi-Oh At the same time, like, a line of a thousand, it would be like, that's a lot of people wild. Right. Like, but I just don't think this is, like, a scalping issue, because even if a thousand of the 50,000 people were scalpers, they could only get one of each pin. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, I think it's. It's just a crowd issue. Yu-Gi-Oh Hard to get through. And I do. And I do think that some employees at the Moscone center completely got pushed over and they Goldin handle the crowd. Right. Not saying that they were, like, bad employees, but the lady. The lady directing the Palmy Hydragons pin was, like, aggressively nice. Like, but she was, like, projecting her voice, telling people where to go. And then the. Every booth in the bottom Jirachi Umbreon. I think Greninja was down there. Yu-Gi-Oh It just. They. I watched them, like, set up the barricades or not the ropes. And then as they're setting them up, I'm like, this is the. Probably the. The worst possible way you could set this up, like, for the Umbreon. I, I. Because I was. It was like 7:45 in the morning, and they set up this huge zigzag, and then they started scanning people, their badges before the zigzag. So then the line started before the zigzag. So you got your badge scanned, and then you just had to walk through a giant zigzag to get the. It made no sense. Which ultimately takes longer to walk through a zigzag. Right, right. Yu-Gi-Oh And because it takes, like one to two seconds for the badge to scan, the zigzag wasn't full. And. And I was like, why did you set it up? What. What. What are you doing here? The whole point of the zigzag is to. So the line doesn't go backwards into the crowd. And that's like, those employees just did a bad job. Everybody needed to be on the two scanner Strat. Yu-Gi-Oh the two scanner Strat was sick. No, it made sense. Like, in this article, them saying this was like, Zebra popular in Anaheim, so we brought it back, and then it, like, didn't work. Yu-Gi-Oh I just don't know what the solution to that. I mean, what if there's just more places to pick up the badges or the pins? Like, if there was like, three Jirachi spots, that would be less crowd at one of them. Yu-Gi-Oh no, you're right. That's true. I'm not saying it would, but I think it would help a little because there's. Yu-Gi-Oh Instead of having maybe 12 spots, maybe you have six spots, and each spot has. Has two places. Two places. You can have your own thoughts about Go, but I feel like Go is always inflated because it is the most popular. Popular of the drops. Yes. Makes sense. People like the drop. I would. I. I would argue that more people are interested in watching Unite be played than Go be played. I think people just have Go up because they want the. They want the drops. Yu-Gi-Oh I would think so. Well, because normally, personally, for me, out of the four, Go got the best drops. It does have the best drops. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, Champions drops are dog water. Like, who. Who's watching Champions to get an incinerary at this point? If you sincerely cared about competitive, you would have transferred in Incineroar the day that Incinerate was allowed to be in the game, which I'm pretty sure was day one. What if you didn't have a switch or Pokemon Go to transfer that Incineroar? If you're doing the roulette and you still don't have an incineroar, that's just real bad luck. That is real bad luck. Yu-Gi-Oh Goldin we also say that, like, yes, Go has the best drops, but also the amount of people that play Go are also just completely outweigh the amount of people that play Unite. So, like, I'm not going to sit down and watch Unite when I don't really know the how Unite functions. But, like, I now Go functions, so I'm, like, more likely to watch Go one-of-one I think out of all of this, Champions is the easiest to watch. Well, I guess Go is too. But, like, at the end of the day, you know that Fire beats grass because you play like most people have just played any Pokemon game. Fire beats grass. You'd be surprised. Breaking news here. But Unite would be harder to watch. Yu-Gi-Oh And I know for a lot of people who have never played the tcg, the TCG is hard to watch if you've never played. Even if you've played a little bit. Like, they're moving so fast. Yu-Gi-Oh it's hard to keep up. It's hard to keep up sometimes. Yu-Gi-Oh they do a really good job of, like, showing the cards that are being used on the screen, though, which is nice. But, Yu-Gi-Oh they're. They're moving fast. And the casters Do a good job of like the play by play. But Yu-Gi-Oh it's just watching them move so quickly, it's like I could understand if someone's maybe new to TCG or like has only played a little bit. I could still see that being a little. I gotta watch the VOD on 0.5. Yu-Gi-Oh They're saying the 2024 World Championships had 123,000 viewers versus I don't know why 2025 isn't on this list. Did they lose the viewership? Maybe. So ultimately they doubled in two years. That's good. Yu-Gi-Oh But they did pay a lot of big streamers to co stream. Mm. The first Pokemon James Turner made, whether or not you want to count this as Pokemon, was Shadow Lugia in Gale of Darkness. Because he did not work for the Pokemon company at that time. He worked for Genius Sonority, which technically Genius Sonority still exists. They make Pokemon Cafe Remix now. Yu-Gi-Oh So he made Shadow Lugia. He also made a lot of the trainers in Gale of Darkness. He then got hired by the Pokemon company, which he had to apply for. And then he went on to, like. He went on to make Vanillite, Golurk, Mandibuzz. We've talked about the list of Pokemons he. He made. He also ended up making some poke. So then he was the art director for Sword and Shield. So that's when he was promoted. He did the entire art direction for that game. Makes sense because he is from the uk. That game takes place in the uk. He then started making some Pokemon in scarlet and violet. He made the Blaze Tauros and the Aqua Tauros and the other Tauros that is just fighting type. I don't know what that one's called. Paldean Tauros. Yes. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh He also made the professors, Professor Taro and Professor Sada. And then he left Game Freak to then start his own company, which is called All Possible Futures, and then made the Plucky Squire, which has come out and it was okay. And now after leaving Game Freak, he now works for the Pokemon company International, which I'm assuming the one in the uk. It doesn't actually say here, but that would be my guess. I don't think at any point he has moved to America. Yu-Gi-Oh Because I'm pretty sure All Possible Futures was a UK gaming studio. Okay. He also, during his time not with Game Freak or the Pokemon company, he designed four cards for them, which is kind of cool and interesting, but Yu-Gi-Oh So like, he designed the Duskull, Dusklops and Dusknoir Illustration Rare from Shrouded Fable. And then he designed one of the Pikachu Ex secret Illustration Rare from Ascended Heroes. Apparently. He also designed Dondozo And Tasigiri, if we're talking about just recent Gen Pokemon great designs, which Dondozo and Tasaguri are not in. Pokemon Champions and one of those Pokemon get a mega. The. Oh, IGN gave. From this article I'm reading off IGN, they gave the plucky squire a 7 out of 10. They said it drags on a bit too long after it's already used up all of its best ideals. That's, that's. That was their one line review for, for that. What a cop out rating. 7 out of 10 out of 10. Yu-Gi-Oh That is a cop out rating. Realistically, that game's probably a six out of ten. Three out of three out of five. You would argue. Do you think James Turner was like secretly mad that I don't even remember the name of the game? The, the Wolf game. Do you think he was mad that they Beckett the Wolf Game? Probably over a Plucky Squire talking about Beast of Reincarnation. Yu-Gi-Oh Beast of Reincarnation. Oh, because the Pluggy Squire probably should have been a gear project game. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I'm sure he maybe thought about it one night. Yu-Gi-Oh he clearly left on good terms because now he's back. Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. Because he's back. Yu-Gi-Oh Well, Yu-Gi-Oh that's a fair. And he was designing cards while he was not there. Yu-Gi-Oh And he, he designed Pokemon center merch while he was not there. He did that whole like beach collection while he was not there. And then the pet collection. He designed the pet stuff. This is why James Turner, I think is more well known. He just makes good stuff. Like his designs are, I would say, always good. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean he also made Buzzwole and Guzzlord. Those were his two Pokemon. Always good, but. Okay. Is James Turner coming back to the Pokemon company, like admitting that his game was a flop? No, I think he just, I think he likes it here. But you, you have to leave, right, to make your own game. Yu-Gi-Oh And it came out and I feel like if the game was a big success, they would have made another game. He like, he had his own studio. That's the thing. Yu-Gi-Oh that's fair. I'm kind of surprised there wasn't some kind of like non compete thing that he had to sign when he left that he wouldn't like. I don't know, Steve, when, if, when you started working for Apple if you had to sign this. But like when I started working for Apple, I had to sign something that like I wouldn't develop apps or like if I developed an app. They were Apple's apps and then like I Goldin develop an app for like five years after I left the company or something like that. I don't think I had that. Yu-Gi-Oh it was, I don't know, 2008 wild times. I do remember something like that. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm. I. Maybe because they didn't see a pucky plucky Squire as like direct comp. I mean it was more of like a Zelda game than it was. Yu-Gi-Oh it was more puzzle based for sure. Well, maybe. I mean but they wouldn't have known what he was gonna create like when he left. I just. I'm surprised they didn't. He didn't have to sign some like non compete. But he's back. I don't know. He's back. The game got a 7 out of 10. It's not terrible. Sure, sure. I guess you're right. It's not terrible. You know, I soft locked myself in that game like three or four times. Oh, you played a bloody Squire? Yu-Gi-Oh it like froze up and I could not move. Bury the lead over here, Austin. Overall it was cute though. And that's why he bought it. Yu-Gi-Oh I thought it was a delta rune. He's like, Yu-Gi-Oh the Toby Fox guy made this game. Toby Fox team turn. They sound, you know, they're guts similar. Did you. But did you like it? I. I thought it was like cute. It was cute. It had like a nice vibe to it. It was kind of funny. The characters were fun but I mean it was. It was kind of buggy. It was a seven out of ten. You're saying? Yu-Gi-Oh I would have given it like a six but it was good though. I wish A little bit of soul there. I wish it ran better. That was it. That's all. Otherwise I would have liked it a lot, I think. So like Scarlet and Violet. Yu-Gi-Oh like just like that. That's what he had to. They're like, you're allowed to make a game, but it can't be. It can't run better than Scarlet and Violet. It has to run at 3fps and freeze everyone. You have to fall through the Fleer at least once. Although maybe there was an update. I played it right when it Tribute I don't know. Maybe. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't know. Anytime I think about like the Plucky Squire, I then think about Beast of Reincarnation and I just think about how many people ran with the narrative that like game freak can make these amazing, beautiful games and Nintendo is holding them back. And then look at how gorgeous this game is. It's gonna be amazing. And then it came out and like, no one said anything like. Yu-Gi-Oh but that's what we were saying on this podcast of you clearly have never played a non Pokemon game freak. Right? They're all kind of like, Yu-Gi-Oh they're. Yu-Gi-Oh none of them are great. You can sort of set your expectations before you go in. Yu-Gi-Oh To be fair, everybody saw a trailer and we're like, look at the beautiful game that they can. It's like, it's a trailer. Like, play the game and then let's talk about it. Like, what are we doing? Although they did show us the bad windmill, so you'd think maybe they chose the bad of Beast of Reincarnation, but true, I guess. Yu-Gi-Oh they did. They showed the boss that you fight and then you fight again. And then you fight again. Spoilers. Come on. Hey, speaking of, there's a lot of Apple talk this. This podcast. Yu-Gi-Oh Pikachu met Mr. Tim Apple at the Apple podcast. And John Turnis. You met both of them. John Turnus is the new CEO, right? Yes. Here we one-of-one bury the lead. It is not clear why the Pokemon team was at Apple park, but Cook first met Pikachu in September of 2025 on a trip to Japan with the reopening of the Apple Ginza store in Tokyo. There are several Pokemon themed games on Apple's app Store. And you can see Pikachu dancing under the rainbow. This was like. This was like a day before Worlds started. Yu-Gi-Oh I think that's the whole reason. Like, because Worlds was in San Francisco and Cupertino is right next to San Francisco. So why wouldn't Pikachu come over to Cupertino? Especially in the moment when, like, the CEO of Apple is changing hands and just do some, like, cute video. It's gonna get Hyper up, obviously, because you have all the world stuff happening. And, like, kind of wild that, like, these two, like, you have the big Apple stuff happening. You have the big world stuff happening. And so it's like, Yu-Gi-Oh just. And they're right there, like, next to each other. So. Yu-Gi-Oh but there has to be a reason. There has to be, like, it. There's probably a deal being made, right? You think so? Like, something really? I actually don't think so. It felt like good vibes to me. I think they thought it was gonna be a cute, like, hand over Tim Cook to John Turnis kind of thing and then include Pikachu. Because we're gonna put this out the day before Worlds and it's just gonna be Beckett up and Hyper on because you're gonna have Apple fans and you're gonna have Pokemon fans both Hyper and I don't know, I mean, there was a moment in the video where Pikachu and Tim Cook like hand an apple to each other or something. It was very reminiscent of when Tim Cook and Bono touched fingers at that Apple event before we all got the U2 album on our phones. So I know there are, I know there are exclusive iPhone only apps that has existed for a while, right? Yes, I probably have a couple that only work on iPhone. Are there games like that? Do you think we live in a time where poker, where Apple would pay so much money to say like this game is. Well, I guess Apple Arcade exists and there are games exclusive to Apple Arcade. So would there be an Apple Arcade only Pokemon game that could come out to get people to sign up for Apple Arcade? Because we'll talk about this in the bonus segment. So this is where Pokemon Ranger comes back. No, they want to make money. Yu-Gi-Oh they. That could happen, I guess. I still don't think that that's where this is headed, honestly. Like, I think if, I think there would have been less time, I guess the Apple event, the next Apple event is. This is two days from when this episode airs. I guess they could announce something even this Wednesday. I was gonna say, I think there would be a short amount of time between a video like this coming out and then them announcing something. I don't think they would be like, oh, let's show off this cute like video and then wait nine months to announce that there's some Pokemon thing happening on Apple Arcade or whatever it may be. I feel like it would be a quicker turnaround between those and they've had exclusive things before. I mean, they had Pokemon Go, had an Apple Watch app. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Right. And that was only on Apple Watch. That wasn't on Android, where. Or whatever it's called. Okay, like, we know for sure that they'll probably hold 99% of winds and waves news until Pokemon Day. Right? Wins and waves only on iOS 20, 27. We. Okay, so we know for sure they'd probably hold that, like, if we, if we get any winds and waves news, it would probably be the equivalent. Equivalent of here's like the behind the scenes of we made the theme song, which they did do, like what, two months ago? Yu-Gi-Oh And then you can, you can look at that video and be like, Yu-Gi-Oh there's new sitting cuties. And they. Those are probably confirmed Pokemon, even though it's like Shellder and Execute. Right. But I think we always have these conversations of, well, we're not going to get Pokemon News until Pokemon Day, but what if there's a Pokemon Presents in September or if there's a Pokemon Presents in October or sometimes there's Pokemon News in a Nintendo Direct. Right. Because the Pokemon company doesn't care about Gale of Darkness or Coliseum. So let Nintendo announce them because they literally do not care about those games. We know that for sure. But Apple is like, we've never considered that Apple is a big enough company. And their keynote, I would probably guess that an Apple Keynote probably gets watched more than a Nintendo Direct. Right. Especially the iPhone keynote. Of all counts. September keynote. That's their. That's their biggest. For sure. Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. Because it's the iPhone. Yu-Gi-Oh And especially this year with how heavy the rumors are of them doing a folding phone, not just because it's folding, but because it's a different kind of iPhone. And Apple always loves to showcase like two games. And I'm pretty sure, like, last year was a Hoyoverse game. It was like zzz. Or it was like, oh, you know what? You're right. Star Rail. And we've talked about Hoyoverse a bunch on this show. If you look at the top five Gotcha games, it's four Hoyoverse games in TCG Beckett That's the top five Gotcha games. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh that's true. Yu-Gi-Oh that's true. I don't know. You're getting me more excited about this. I don't like it because I don't want to get my hopes up that, like, something happens Wednesday. I've just never considered the fact that Apple could be the one to announce a Pokemon mobile game and it would make sense in retrospect for them to do it. That's true. Yu-Gi-Oh that's true. I, I like where your head's at. To keep my own hopes down, I'm going to assume that this video was still just a cute video to mark the times of Turnus taking over as CEO and Worlds happening like within the same. They literally happened within the same weekend. Like Worlds ended on Sunday the 30th and John Ternus became Apple CEO on Tuesday the 1st. So it's like so close to each other. I think you're right. I think you're right. I just think like there is a world where instead of ZZZ being on stage or instead of Castlevania. I don't remember the older games that Apple has announced. Angry Birds. One of those games could be Pokemon. Yu-Gi-Oh there could be. They could do Temple Run, but it's Pikachu instead of whatever other. Like, I, if they. Here's the thing. I think if they did, if they ended up doing something like that, it would be again, the exclusivity, like you said, would be, you know, six months or a year. Right. And then it would open up to whatever else. I mean, they did that with like hello Kitty's Island Adventure. It was on Apple Arcade for like almost a year. I don't know, six months or a year before it came to Switch and on all that stuff. Yu-Gi-Oh I think it was like six months on Apple Arcade, then it was on PC and then it was on Switch. Okay. So they could absolutely do that with Pokemon was in the. Wasn't. Was it Mario Go or not Mario Go, but Mario Run. Run. Well, that was an iOS only game, wasn't it? Yes. And I think that me game was iOS only too. Yu-Gi-Oh So Yu-Gi-Oh they could do something. I guess. I don't know. They are. We. We have to scour the video now for all the clues. I mean, they were. It's too late here. Okay, so Fitbit Air is a thing that you wear on your wrist that does everything an Apple watch does except doesn't have a watch face. Yes, sure. And they're very popular. Google bought Fitbit and this is what they're doing with it before they kill it, I'm sure. Yu-Gi-Oh I can't imagine it. Yu-Gi-Oh they announced a Pokemon edition that works with Pokemon Sleep, although the Fitbit Air already worked with Pokemon Sleep. Right. So this is doing nothing unique in that sense. Besides, it's a blue band which has Pikachu on it and it says Pokemon Sleep, that's all you're paying for. Wait, so you're saying kind of like if they took an Apple device that already works with Pokemon Sleep, but then just put like Pokemon watch faces on it. Yu-Gi-Oh huh. This makes that seem more likely because it's like they went to Google and did something Pokemon related. So like why not go to Apple and also do something Pokemon Sleep like related with the device that you use? I Agree. Okay. I saw this. I woke up to this August 27th. So this would have been the Thursday before Worlds. Yep. I saw this. I looked at it. I was like, oh, this is cool. And then I thought to myself, I kind of want to order this because I'm just such a big Pokemon Sleep fan, Right? Fair. Yu-Gi-Oh But I had a full day of work because Papa Pikachu was working me even before World started. But this was literally the first thing I saw when I woke up. I, like, opened up Threads and I saw this, and I was like, oh, this is so neat. But also, it doesn't do anything unique. But maybe I get it as a collector thing of, like, oh, I like Pokemon Sleep, and I just kind of want to have it. Yu-Gi-Oh And then I went out for the day, and I came back to my hotel at, like, 6pm after being out all day, and the Pokemon Sleep team and the Google Health team put one of these on my bed. I came back into my hotel room. My whole room was made up, and this was on my bed. This isn't even out yet. Yu-Gi-Oh That's cool. You could. That is really cool. It was probably the. One of the coolest gifts I've ever gotten. And it was, like, not that cool because it's just, like. It's just a Fitbit band. It is cool, though. But, like, getting it the day it was announced and it's not available for anyone. And hours after it was announced and to, like, leave my hotel room and come back. And I went to. I went to Business Pikachu. Business Pikachu is one step below Papa Pikachu. Right. Business Pikachu is, you know, who I have to interact with. So we're at this mixer, which was mandatory. A lot of the events that Papa Pikachu wanted me to Whatnot were mandatory events. There's a reason for that. We'll talk about that. Maybe at a different time. But I'm at the mixer, and Business Pikachu is there. And I went, hey, who do I thank for the Pokemon Sleep Fitbit? And Business Pikachu goes, I don't know, but let me find out for you. Right? And he came back and he said. He said it was the Pokemon Sleep team and it was the Google Health team. Those would be the two people you would think. And I said, well, let them know it was awesome. And I will, like, I'll make a video about it. I'll make a little, like, Instagram unboxing of it, and I'll let. Let them know I loved it. And the Next morning, business Pikachu came back to me and they said, the Pokemon Sleep team has never gotten feedback like this. And they really were excited that you guys were excited. Nice. And I was like, well, tell the Pokemon Sleep team I love them. I would like to do more. Yu-Gi-Oh for sure. That's cool, though. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh That's awesome. Yu-Gi-Oh Huh. But they were, like, I was, like, pumped that they were pumped that I was originally pumped. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh That's so cool. That is cool. I, I do have one thing to ask, though. Is Threads the first app you open when you wake up in the morning? Of all the apps on your phone, Threads is the first one. No, you know what? Threads is maybe my first app I open. Really? No. It's either Threads or Instagram. Realistically, I think the first app I open is my email fair. Usually it's Pokemon Sleep, but when I was at Worlds, Pokemon Sleep was the. Well, I mean, like, even if you don't play Pokemon Sleep, it's still a Fitbit. It's still going to track all your stuff. Yu-Gi-Oh no, that's, that's cool just in itself. I will say that when I checked into my hotel again, I'm not. I was not like a creator. I was not invited by Pokemon. Nothing. But I, I ordered my hotel through the Pokemon XP website. Right. Like back when you could like go to the XP website and then they had all the hotels that, you know that you get like a discount if you ordered through them. And when I arrived at my hotel, the person said, like, he mentioned that I was under Pokemon, like, maybe because I went through the website. So, like, it put something in there. Yu-Gi-Oh you went through the Pokemon world's website. But because of that, he handed me a Pokemon Sleep Fitbit. No, I'm just kidding. Because of that, he handed me a little. A little bag that had like the. I know. I'm sure you got this too, Steve. But like, it had like this Snorlax, like, sleep mask. Like the one that Professor Neroli has. No, I did not get that. Oh, you didn't get that? No. Yu-Gi-Oh so I got like a Snorlax sleep mask that like the one that Professor Neroli has in the game. And then my key. My keys to my room were both Pokemon Sleep keys. But it like, it was. I think it was because I signed up through Pokemon xp because. Yu-Gi-Oh he mentioned, I believe, all the hotels that were officially partnered with Pokemon XP Worlds got the Pokemon Sleep key cards for the room. Because my hotel, they gave me the key cards, the Pokemon Sleep key cards. Right. I didn't get the. That's crazy. You got a Snorlax mask. I got the Snorlax mask in my package with the Fitbit. Oh, weird. Yu-Gi-Oh I didn't get any Fitbit. That's for sure. Person before me definitely got Pokemon Sleep keys. Right. At my hotel. Yu-Gi-Oh They weren't handed like a sleep mask or anything. Yu-Gi-Oh I got the sleep mask. I didn't get any Fitbit. I got the sleep mask and I got a thing for my, like the do not Disturb thing that you would hang on your door. That was also in my bag. It was like a Pokemon Sleep themed Do Not Disturb tag. Yu-Gi-Oh they were handing that out at Anaheim last year for free. Yes, I remember that. I remember that. Pokemon 24 movie collection. Amazon exclusive limited edition, $400, 36 hours of runtime. I don't. Amazon. Oh, Amazon did update the release date. They were. I don't know why people always look at Amazon's release date and they're like, Yu-Gi-Oh it's like 2029. No, it's always a placeholder. Yu-Gi-Oh So this is being put out by Viz Media. And when Viz Media announced it on Twitter threads, whatever, they said that it will come out November 24th. Amazon did finally update it to November 24th, even though it was literally on Viz Media's website and on the Tweet and everything. 24 movies. This goes all the way to. From Pokemon the first movie to the Zarude movie. Blu Rays. It comes in a giant pokeball, but there are not 24 Disco So multiple movies are on. Which. Which is fine, I think, because. Yu-Gi-Oh I guess, sure. But if you're pay. I don't know. You're paying $400. Right. Put them on there each day. It looks like there's 15 Disco for 24 movies. So that's like two movies a disc. You can put the black and white movies together. They're. Oh, they're the same movie. Yu-Gi-Oh Okay, here's the. Here's the actual news is that Miramax had four of these movies under their control. It was. It was like the Pokemon heroes, Destiny, Deoxys. I don't remember the Jirachi Wishmaker. And do you say forever already? Pokemon forever. Because you would all. You always get. Like when. When there was like a Pokemon movie marathon for the 20th anniversary on Twitch, they skipped those four movies. And they're the four best ones. And because Miramax had it, and Pokemon is very good at just ignoring things and just riding it out. Like cadaver. Like Cadaver. They're like, oh, we can just stop making cadaver cards. We'll ride this out. But they did that with. I don't know what their beef was with Miramax, but Miramax had the movies, those four movies for X amount of time that actually expired in 2023. So it expired three years ago. And now it looks like Pokemon sold all of that to Viz Media to handle, and Viz Media decided to do this. $400. 24 movies. Sorry, not 20. Yu-Gi-Oh 24. 24 movies. Although it's technically 23 because two of those movies are just the black and white movie. It's black and white Victini and Reshiram and black and white Victini and Zekrom. They're the same movie. It's just like one has an opening sequence of Bouffant and the other has an opening sequence of Zebstrika. No one is sitting down. Be like, which one, which one should I put in today? I'm imagine watching them back to back, like, not realizing that they're the same. Just trying to watch all of them in through them. And you're like, oh, black and white. Yu-Gi-Oh I'll watch them back to back. I feel like I've seen this one already. This one's familiar, but no, there's Zekrom. Yu-Gi-Oh so I must not have seen. Yu-Gi-Oh so I haven't seen this one yet. Oh, crazy. I like this. But it's unfortunate that it's outdated. Next year. True. With the TCG movie. That's true. To be fair, all these movies do have ash, so if you're just going off that. I mean, it's just unfortunate. It's. It's on Disco Okay, I do have two questions. Does it include Detective Pikachu? No. Okay, so this one-of-one even that good. On top of that here, I can make it worse for you. I don't believe they include any of the shorts that happen before the movie. There's no point. I'm not buying this. I mean, the point is you just. You get a giant plastic Pokeball to put him into the. Arguably, the best things are not included in this. I. I think most of the Pokemon movies are, like, enjoyable. Yu-Gi-Oh As in, like, I'm gonna put on the background. I'm gonna. I'm gonna do a little worky. I'm gonna maybe fold some laundry. They're not that good. Look, they're not. They're not that good where you're. You're dropping everything you're doing and locking in. I think most of them are fun. I think they're enjoyable. I think they're pretty harmless. But I just can't see myself having this sitting on a bookshelf and me one day just. I don't know what to watch. Oh, let me put in Victini and Zekrom. Let me, like, open this Pokeball, thumb through this book, pull out. People are buying. They're not buying them to watch this. They're not. No one's watching. But that's like peak consumerism. If you're just paying $400 for this to sit on your shelf, what are you doing here? Here's the thing. Here's the problem. If you. If you take this and divide it by how much it is per movie. Right. It's about $16.67 per movie. Right. You get 24 movies, 400 bucks, minus the black and white, because you're paying 32 for the same movie. True. All right. And that movie is not worth 32. No, it's absolutely not. I can get on the same website you're on good old Amazon.com I can get a three pack. It is the Pokemon first movie. Pokemon 2000 and Pokemon 3 the movie. Right. That was before Miramax took over. I can get those three movies on Blu Ray for 10.99. You're right. Yu-Gi-Oh Here I'm paying $48 for those three movies. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh So, like, I. I just don't like. It's not. I know, but it's a collection thing. They're all in one. They're all in one little time. You get all of them because of that Miramax deal. Yu-Gi-Oh They have their own special disc artwork, like. Yu-Gi-Oh because I guess Pokemon Forever does come out for $20 alone on Blu Ray on October 20th. So obviously they went. They go up in price when you get to the ones that aren't readily available. Here's. I do think the Pokeball part of it actually kind of looks pretty cheap. Looks pretty cheap. It's just a plastic. The book's cool. I like the Beckett, but you tell me that movie is not included, the one in the book. I don't know. Actually, now that I'm looking at this, from my understanding, the. Yu-Gi-Oh it's in the book, isn't it? It's in the book. Is that movie included? Wait, let's go. Hold on. Yu-Gi-Oh How many are there? 1, 2. This is great audio. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. We're at 13 with Masters of Illusions 14, 15 if we count both black and white movies. 16 for the Kira movie. 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24. Oh, they are counting Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. Okay. But no Detective Pikachu, which is fair. That makes sense. So you are getting Pokemon the first movie, and then you are also getting Pokemon. Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution. Okay, so that is 24 movies. So you are getting the Netflix one. Well, 22 movies, because that one's just the repeat of the first one. But you're. You're not getting the direct to VHS movies like the Raiko movie. Yu-Gi-Oh Oh, so then, Yu-Gi-Oh you're not getting that, and you're not getting the. Wasn't there, like, a second technically, Mewtwo movie after Pokemon? It was, like, extended or something. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Well, are either of you buying this? No. No. Okay. Again, I can't. I think 400 is too expensive. Yu-Gi-Oh maybe if it was 200. Maybe. Yes, it might be. This reminds me of the conversation we had around the. That, like, TCG three deck. Yu-Gi-Oh Yep. And I think it was 400. And we were. We were all blown away, and I was like, no way would I pay more than 200 for it. And I think Bobby sent me a picture of it at, like, a Costco, and it was 250. And I was like, cheaper. It needs to be cheaper. Yu-Gi-Oh That thing went down in price quickly. I think it goes down in price. There's no way this sells. It's a cool product. I like physical media. I'm never gonna watch these, but I do like it. I'm just not. It's not worth 400. I'm not paying 400 for this. There is no Pokemon fan out there. Yu-Gi-Oh That likes every single one of these movies. I mean, overall, I would say I like all of them. No, no. But going back to Bobby's point, there are people that are like, oh, only the first, like, four or five movies are amazing. Or people will say, like, anything after Destiny, Deoxys is bad, which is inherently untrue. Like, the Darkrai movie is so bad. It's good. Like, somebody gets turned into a licky licky in that movie. That's why it's so good. I know it's so bad. It's good. It comes back around. But I think, to Bobby's point, like, most people, I feel like, realistically, like, the first three, that's fine. I think you're kind of wrong. I think there are some gems after the fact. Like, as much as I don't really care about Lucario, the Lucario movie is actually probably one of the better ones on this list. And I'm not even a Lucario fan, but, like, as a. Like a story in a movie from start to finish, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is actually probably, like, a top three Pokemon movie on the list. But why would you spend $400 when you could just get. Spend $10 and you get 3 of what some people consider their favorites. Yu-Gi-Oh And even at that point, are you really sitting down watching Pokemon the movie 2000, like, once a year? Are you really doing that? No. You're just in a. You're just in a minority. You're just. It's not. It's not like. It's not Home Alone, you know, it's. I do frequently have the Pokemon TV show streaming from their channel on my tv, though. That's all free. But that is free. That's free. And it doesn't. I'm sure there is. It doesn't require you to pop out at disc Austin. Yu-Gi-Oh This is a collector's item, right? Like, that's. That's what this is like. I would guess more than 50% of the purchases made on this product don't even make it out of the sealed. Like. Oh, I think you're right. Yu-Gi-Oh I think more than half the people don't even open this. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh For sure. But I do think this is going to be, like, the TCG thing. Both were $400. I do think people will buy this with the intent to, like, scalp it. And 1. I don't think this is selling out into. This thing is dropping in price. Yu-Gi-Oh absolutely. They're Blu Rays. If you want to buy it, wait a little while. I'm sure it'll be around. I have seen every one of these movies, except I haven't seen zero minutes of Diance and the Cocoon of Destruction, and I've only seen maybe 20 minutes of Hoopa and the Clash of Ages. Okay. I really like the Hoople one. Otherwise, I've seen all of these movies, and the worst one on this list is Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel. I knew you were gonna say that. I knew you were going to say that. And the second worst one is the Power of Us. Yu-Gi-Oh Isn't Ash just attached to Volcanion, like, the entire. Yes. And Volcanion doesn't understand why Ashes Attack, even though it's. They're magnets. He's magnetized to you, man. Yu-Gi-Oh that's funny. And there's One point where he's magnetized the volcanion and he does a complete outfit change. I take it back. The power bus is the worst movie. The outfit change moves up the. Moves up the volcano movie by one spot. I also think Secrets of the Jungle is maybe a top three because it actually has a story and people actually die in it. I. I don't think Ash needed to be in that movie at all. The. The secrets of the jungle. Yu-Gi-Oh He did not do a single thing that whole time. I feel like. Yu-Gi-Oh that's okay though. The rest of the movie. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I feel like. Yu-Gi-Oh What's the. The person's name in that movie? The like the kid. Coco. Coco. I have the card. I have like the Japanese card that they did of it where they like. It's not a trainer card. It's like a Pokemon card but it's Coco. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh we talked about that. Yu-Gi-Oh The other card with Pikachu and Cramer and is pretty expensive. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh it's a Pikachu card but it's Pikachu in Cramer ants mouth. Oh, that's fun. That's great. That's cool. It's really good. Also the one with Shaman is pretty bad because Shaman's really annoying through it. Yu-Gi-Oh Shaman. But it's fine. I actually don't think the Arceus movie is that bad. But people don't like Arceus's voice. I think it's fine. It's whatever. I don't think it's that big of a deal. They should have made Arceus a girl just to make people more mad. That's what they did with the Mewtwo movie. They were mad that Mewtwo had a feminine voice. How is it? It can't be the same. You do. It's. Look at that big gap. I just can't believe like. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh 70 years wild. When was Detective Pikachu? 20. 19. 19. It's right below there, I think. Oh it's. It's. Oh because we're looking at. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh it's right there underneath the wild card. Oh, that's why I felt like because we technically got two movies that year. Yu-Gi-Oh Because that was before COVID Yu-Gi-Oh Yep.
