Now back to your show. What is going down everyone? It's time for Mojo Break the Hype. We got an exciting episode. We're going to talk about logo mans versus debut patches. What does the hobby like better? And feel free to chime in on this YouTube video or on social media. Also, we've got some big high end releases this week. Motif Basketball is releasing this week, so we'll be breaking that. And we're proud to kick off our break to consignment program on mojo break.com We've been doing breaks over there for 16 years now. And now if you get a card that maybe necessarily doesn't fit into your PC requirements, but it's over $50, you can consign that and we'll have it up next day, next business day on ebay. So you can get 100% store credit or fees apply if you want to get cashed out. I think it's a great way if you get a random team. If you get a card you don't necessarily want, or maybe you get two autos of somebody and you want to sell one and keep one. Let us do all the heavy lifting for you. Get some cash or get 100% in break credit to continue to get into the next release. So excited to kick that off. That is through mojobreak.com only right now. We will expand it to other platforms very soon. But if you break on mojo break.com, i would definitely take advantage of this and get some some cash back in your Beckett instantly. Because a lot of times if you're dealing with a new release like we're doing Motif, you're probably going to get the most money to get that card up next day after release rather than wait for four to five days for the for the old mailman to deliver it and then you got to get it to a consignment service or you got to sell it yourself. It's a lot of extra work. So we've taken that out with this new Mojo consignment. If you break with us on mojo, break.com and motif, I forgot to mention, we're breaking 30 cases of motif on Thursday with Emma Roberts and Cody John. I'm Zebra excited for that. What do you guys think? Are you guys excited for that one? I'm pretty excited to figure out what Shane was wearing when he came out here. What, what did he have on? Some kind of soccer jersey. Is it a soccer jersey? You know what we need on this show? We need a shop cam that I can go to like a picture in picture. We 100% do. That's a great idea. We need a shop cam. Great idea. Absolutely. I don't know if you remember. Ping pong table's gone. The ping pong table is gone. Yu-Gi-Oh You one-of-one be able to hear me. So now we can get security camera footage into the feed. I think we could do this. I think this is absolutely feasible. I think of when I would watch a lot of David Letterman, he would always go to like the shot outside of like he had like a camera set on the marquee. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh And he would like shoot people with water guns and stuff like that. So good idea. Great idea. We should do that. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm pretty excited for Motif. I'm excited for potentially hitting some rookie logo mans logo man 101s. Yu-Gi-Oh It's going to be the first licensed Tops Logo mans. And I don't even know. I mean I should be more of a card historian to be doing this for a long time. I don't know if Topps has ever had NBA logo. I don't think Tops has ever had any. I believe as. As Topps has said. I believe in the description they said it is the first ever Topps NBA logoman, period. They've never had them before. So I think Upper Deck was the first to start. Right? Yep. And then Panini. Panini. But the product looks great. We haven't seen any photos of Logo Mans yet, so I don't know what they look like but. Which is weird being a release that's coming out on Thursday. So makes me think there's going to be this really big buildup for some kind of news drop from either Tops hoop or Tops hoops or Tops themselves of some of these images of these Logo mans. Because I think we're all dying, especially us coming from Panini. Flawless, Immaculate. You mentioned, you know, impeccable. Having all these Logo mans. What do they look like. So really want to see what they look like. And they're Zebra excited to pull some. There's not like, if you're looking it up on the checklist, there isn't like you don't. You can't just look up logo man. No, it's not on there. Yu-Gi-Oh they're not on there. So. But it does say in their description for their product. So I'm excited to be pulling some of this. Not the first ever logo mans because didn't they have logo mans in the. The Mercury? That's still a mystery. I don't think anybody's popped one out so. Or had had one. And that was the rumor that. That there is a logo man in Mercury. But it's. If it has, it's never surfaced when you do look up logo man. I was looking this up on like recent NBA logo man sales on card ladder and there are some that say, you know, they have the mercury stuff now. Technically you could say, well, it's the first rookie logo mans because they've had the gold logo mans. Those have existed. But right now, the only top tops now. Right. The only rookie logo man in existence right now for tops is the Stefan Castle, the gold logo man. That. But, you know, that's a truly one of a kind card. So that's really the only other ones I could think of. Well, to be fair, we've never had a live logo man because those ones were redemptions. Right. So which is hard to do in a Topps Chrome product because it's going to be thick. So it's going to be very easily to be told to be seen in a pack. Right. Or at least, you know, it would be much thicker than a regular chrome card. So at least in a motif. Hopefully there's some that are live so that we can get the reaction, we can get the videos out there of whoever pulls one of these and they're live in the set. So anxious to see what that is. But this begs the question NBA rookie logo man or NBA rookie NBA debut patch. And I think it's a healthy debate. But one of these things is new. The, the. The debut patch is the new hottest thing. Of course, everybody's talking about the Cooper flag. It's hit espn. You know, it's still out there in limbo. The guy's deciding what he's going to do. Looks like he was in Jeff Wilson's shop over the weekend because Jeff Wilson had the redemption in his hand. So he is making his tour. But does the NBA rookie logo man, you know, supersede this debut patch and I think it's a healthy discussion. What do you guys think? I. I'm probably, I think I'm going to be in a minority here. I think I'm going to go Logo Man. It's just because that is what I'm comfortable with and that's what I know could change over the years. It could be debut patch. Let's give it, let's give it five, six years maybe. Yu-Gi-Oh But I think I'm. If I'm collecting, I. If I'm collecting Cooper Flag and I have an option, money, not an issue to go debut patch or first ever rookie patch auto Rookie Logo Man. I think I'm going Logo man. Yu-Gi-Oh And that's. And you know, Cody's got some good notes because I was already thinking this. Well, which tops products going to be the, the one. Right? I mean when Panini came out it was, it was NT to begin with. And you still see, I think there's a graphic with the Luca Logo man here that we have. In comparison to the Cooper Flag debut patch, NT was the Logo man product. You know, Immaculate was kind of second to that. And then well, Flawless didn't have Logo Mans for a while. So that, that was. Now Flawless is. Has overcome. We've had this debate before on the show. Now Flawless is King. That's what I was going to get to. Right. So like is Motif gonna be the Logo Man? Is. Are they gonna have him in Dynasty? I'm assuming they will. Then you have definitive. Definitive that in the early previews that didn't seem like they have Logo Mans, but maybe there are some. So which one do you put your money towards? If you're like, money's not an issue. I'm a Cooper Flag guy. I gotta get the best Logo Man. Is it going to be Motif, Motif, Dynasty or Definitive? And maybe there's another set that they have diamond icons. We know they're going to be a basketball version of diamond icons, whatever that is called. Right. So that is potentially an option as well. If it's. I would say Dynasty kind of strikes me as the one that would be the go to. If we're kind of giving the Flawless sure comparison there. I think Dynasty would be the one. But in terms of what is the bigger. What, what, what is going to be the bigger card? I initially was on Dan's side of like, I think it's probably going to end up being the Logo Man. I think there is a lot of this first time debut patch hype around this. But I will say that that Luca rpa, which I believe is still the biggest selling rookie logo man, there are obviously bigger logo mans out there that, you know, the. The biggest selling sports car of all time. But that is what, a three point something. I had the price down somewhere. A $3.12 million car. I think most people would agree the Cooper flag's probably going to sell for more than that. Right? Or around this. At least the same amount, minimum. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean it's. It's hard to compare the eras because if Luca was Luca now and we had a debut patch of different story, maybe even Zion, I hate to say it, Zion had a rookie patch, logo man, debut patch, whatever on his year, it would be insane. Right? We'd be talking about that during that time. The problem with the logo mans is there could be three or four of them. Right? There could be three, four, five of them for rookie logo mans. Even National Treasures used to have just the. The logo man number to five with no auto for the rookie. So it was an additional five. Then you had an Immaculate and who knows how many they had an Immaculate. There is only one rookie debut patch. Right? Right. I don't want. I'm kind of on your boat as I'm a purist of like I had logo mans in my collection because every collector collects differently. But like legacy Flawless collectors, National Treasures collectors, they're probably going to appreciate the logo man more than the debut patch because they don't have any of those in their collection. It's hard to say. And also the thing too with the, with that Lucas sale that it's the highest recorded one that was back in November of 2022. We're starting to see, I mean just last week we talked about the Josh Allen shield that went back on the market and then became the new highest selling Josh Allen card of all time. So I think it's only a matter of time till these cards get back on the market and. Or you know, and start to break those record sales as well. So it's. It's a little tough to judge, you know, a four year old sale versus whatever the Cooper flag is going to end up selling for. I think that. I think if that Luke hit the market now. But just from like a look standpoint, like don't you guys think the logo man looks better than the debut patch? Aesthetically, Yes, I agree, but I'm used to it. Yu-Gi-Oh No, I. And that's what I started saying. I'm like, I'm used to seeing the logo man. Give me some Time with the debut patch. Maybe I change my mind. Maybe, maybe they spice up the look in a couple years of the debut patch. I do like the MLB ver. And this is maybe the difference of horizontal vertical. I think the MLB version looks better. I do believe the MLB version does look better. Yu-Gi-Oh But there is a logo man on the debut patch. There is. So it's still, it's still a logo. It's one, one way or another you're getting a logo on there. Yu-Gi-Oh I, I, I think it, it's, it'll be interesting to see because I think baseball, it's already, it's, it's, I think it's a done deal. I think the debut patch is the, is the number one. Like it's because the logo man, never really held the same thing patches. And I know this is a little bit off topic, but it's still about cards and Whatnot. What was there a Cardinals rookie? Oh Yu-Gi-Oh that there's a little bit of controversy about the debut patch right now. Yu-Gi-Oh What's I did first off, I'm assuming he had a tremendous. So Joshua. Right, Joshua Baez called up, had a three homer game in his first game. Historic. One of like, Yu-Gi-Oh it's going to go down in history. One of the great debuts in MLB history. He hit his first home run with the debut patch on. He hit his next two without the debut patch on. Why did he have to change his jersey got dirty? I don't know. Well, his jersey is going to the hall of Fame that we know without the debut patch. But Yu-Gi-Oh it's weird that the next two home runs were hit without it. So is it going to change the value of that card? No, like that's, even if he doesn't do a lot like that card is going to hold a ton of. I think that tells. That's kind of like maybe protocol where it's like, okay, this debut patches jersey that you, that you go out there and start the game with, you switch them out and then because let's face it, like if they take that jersey and they're gonna make relics out of it, he probably wants a jersey for himself. Right. And maybe that maybe that's what happened. Maybe, maybe the we got lights. Maybe he basically, the first one went to Fanatics, the second one went to himself and maybe. But he didn't have another one on. Right. He just had one debut patch. So do they. Are you telling me that they have like a guy from MLB or tops who know who's like it's a third Anymore. Taking that thing off. I, well, I thought that they would not take the whole jersey. I thought they would just have a clubhouse guy go take the path. Well, that's what they did. So that's probably the same jersey was wearing, but they took the patch off. I think so because it is just velcroed on. Like it's, it's. Of all the jerseys, I think the NBA one is like at least ironed on. Like it looks a little more secure on there than the MLB one. But the MLB one looks a little like you can even kind of see it. It's almost fraying sometimes. So maybe it was just as simple as it was going to fly off. And we need, and we know the clubhouse guys probably instructed, like you have to make sure that is secured and you get that thing. So if you even notice the sign of like it might be flying off or something, get it off. Just a protocol where it's like, okay, after, after your first inning or first three innings, like we basically, we get an opportunity, we're going to take it off. I'm going to be more definitely going to be eyeing that a lot more. As we see more especially as we get along through the year for baseball, you're going to see a lot more of those rookie debuts, guys getting called up late in September and stuff. So keep an Yu-Gi-Oh out now. How long those things hang on. You think that that'll be in this year's Chrome Update? No, it'll be next year. Yu-Gi-Oh it'll be next year. And he'll be again. Regardless of what he does. You can say there's only one debut patch of a guy who had three home runs in his very first game. Has there anybody hit three home runs in their first game? I don't know. Yu-Gi-Oh most. Let's see. Most home runs. John Bowker. Oh, man. Shout out to John Bowker. Let's see. List of. I've got a list of players with home runs in their first at bat. Will Clark, of course. Will Clark. Oh Yu-Gi-Oh No. St. Louis Cardinals rookie Joshua Bias became the first player in MLB history to hit three row home runs in his MLB. That's unbelievable. That's crazy. One of them was a 449 foot home run. It was impressive. Yu-Gi-Oh it was incredibly impressive. Oh, very first pitch too. Geez, what a debut. Yu-Gi-Oh I saw first patch auto was cool. They showed like footage too of like his minor league team and they were just going crazy in the locker room watching. Any relation to Javi Baez? I don't believe so. No, that's kind of a common name, but Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh and a top prospect too. So that could be an end up being a really, really big chase. I'm assuming whatever year is his first Bowman, there had to be a spike in those cards. Yu-Gi-Oh definitely 34 bombs in Yu-Gi-Oh this year, by the way. This guy's got pop. It's got legit pop. Tearing it up. I mean one of the things though that you do see is I want you to go this next slide with this Nolan Traore is baseball hasn't been able to crack like these price levels for these lower level guys. Right. So this one sold for 26,000. So it was the first basketball debut patch to ever completely sell and it was at 26,000. So I think we were seeing debut patches for baseball. Granted, it was two years ago go for like five to six thousand dollars for this caliber of player, right? Yu-Gi-Oh there were a lot of lower level ones where if you just wanted a debut patch and you're like, I'll pay, you know, a smaller amount. Let's, let's find here. Actually look at this. I just found it. That's crazy. What did that one sell for? 29, $26,100. For just about $3,000 more, you could have had Yankees all star Ben Rice's MLB debut patch auto for $29,600. It sold on April 20th of this year. So that is nuts. It's one of the, it's not one of the higher ones. But still for a guy of that caliber, that is crazy. Was Nolan Traori a second rounder? I Goldin tell you off the top of my head, but I mean it's remarkable that his, his car with that overall. Yu-Gi-Oh So a first rounder, but Yu-Gi-Oh like it's, it's from France too. Is it Even a top 10 debut patch you want? Maybe, I don't know, NBA folks, I just think, I think NBA collectors are used to this kind of stuff. Right, Right. Where baseball, like the debut patch, there never was a home besides maybe dynasty for patch auto For baseball, it's always been Topps, Chrome, you know, Bo First Bowman, things like that. And you know the debut patches kind of came and they're building the rep. Obviously the, the, the Paul Skeen's over a million dollars. All that stuff has, has got some hype behind it. But I want to say that James Wood didn't even sell for that much. We actually saw it at, at. I think PC Sports Cards had it. Yu-Gi-Oh And I don't think it was crazy. I think it was 50 to 100k or something like that. Yu-Gi-Oh I think it was in that range. I want to say. Yu-Gi-Oh it might have been 150. It might have been 200. It was. It was price 10 million. But again, 162K for James Woods. Okay, respect but rookie of the year from the National League in 2025. Drake Baldwin All Star again this year. $19,520 that sold on July of this year. So for what $2,000 less you could have had the. Or more than that. Excuse me. About $7,000 less you get at the NL Rookie of the year. And what about. What about a. What about some of the. The. The football debut patches? Yu-Gi-Oh If you were to compare. I. I feel like I have not seen too many hit the market in the football. Not a ton. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm looking right now. What about. What about T. Ferg dude. Terrence Ferguson. I mean I. I'm a buyer. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't think they made one for him. Right. Yu-Gi-Oh they made one for him. What were they called? The premier Be the best tight end on the Niner squad. No third or fourth. You got like Gifford, you know out there. You guys came out. You guys just lost against the mighty Titans. We were playing guys that aren't gonna be on our team. They one-of-one neither. Maybe besides stribling. Hey, we. We didn't play anybody. I had. I had watched that game. I had no idea who anybody was in the Rams squad out there. But we one-of-one Ty Simpson might be the greatest quarterback ever to do it. Well, you know, let's. I mean slow our role there. Give. Give him the MVP right now. Well, I'm trying to find some premiere. My team doesn't like to waste draft picks. We get guys we can use, you know, the same year while we're trying to one-of-one I can't find any premier patch sales. By the way, best quarterback on the Niners roster. No. Maybe behind Rourke who played the first entire half. So don't know who don't know. We have Blake Martin out there. Curtis Rourke. Yu-Gi-Oh Name. Yu-Gi-Oh From Indiana. Stud. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean Yu-Gi-Oh Football season is among us. I. I do want to say before I we. This is totally not even in the thing probably time to sell Kyler Murray. Right. We should go get those out of the people are and I'm still. I got. Got a couple nice Contenders. I think they've already doubled and tripled so we will lose so much money on that is the only way to get something Beckett till the Vikings find themselves sitting at eight and all, and we're like, wait a minute. We can't wait. Go. We have to actually, we have to end the podcast right now on E. As we speak. Understood. Understood. If you got to get out now, get. Get out while the getting's good. And yes. Get out while the getting's better than. It's been better than about. Yu-Gi-Oh about five or six years, if that might be generous. Yu-Gi-Oh that's one guy that's. If you bought him in 19, you're down. So. Yu-Gi-Oh Before the boom. Is that the only. That's the only investment you could actually make probably in 2019, where it just never went back up? No, no. I mean that's. That class in itself is, you know, pretty bad. I mean, what did you have Drew Locke and I mean, unfortunately, the guy from the Redskins Commanders. Drew Locke, I think. Are you talking about Kyler Murray's year? Yu-Gi-Oh Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh I think Drew Locke might have got a championship ring last year because I think he might have been on the Sea. Daniel Jones, who had a nice. Who's had a revival last year. If he can be healthy again this year, then I think DK Metcalf is in there as well. Yu-Gi-Oh there's some good position players in there. Other non. Non QBs in there. I should say that's one of those years of products going to see if that product has a Tom Brady auto in it or a Mahomes auto. They could break it. Hockey. Yu-Gi-Oh Card that sold for more than a lot of vintage hockey cards. This Macklin Celebrini. It's good time to be in San Jose. Gold 1 of 1 sold for $1.3281 million on Goldin auction. Actually never noticed the. No grade on that. Huh. Just. Just slabbed authentic. Just authentic. Really? Go back to it. Yu-Gi-Oh just slabbed authentic. Which. Look, it's the constant debate. The one of one. I think it's the right move. Like how much more does. How much more is that car? Although that means it was going to be an 8 or a 9. I guess so I actually. I actually believe it was going to probably be an eight or it was probably minimum grade. Eight was probably going to be lower than an eight. Yu-Gi-Oh possibly. I still would argue like again, how much more does it. It would obviously help it if it was a 10. Oh, if it was a 10, it might have been 10 million dollar. Might have been 10 million. So maybe. Maybe this person didn't even want a nine. Who knows? Maybe those cards can be hard to grade with the way that the film is on it. But I mean if you're not collecting hockey, you should think about it because the highest sale ever is the Gretzky at 5.2. But this eclipse the Connor McDavid RPA that sold for 571,000. So this doubled a cup rookie patch auto of Connor McDavid. This is insane. No, no autograph on this card and no auto. Yu-Gi-Oh that's, that's, I mean the two biggest car hockey cards of all time. Non autos basically, man. I, it is. The Macklin stuff is insane. It, it is absolutely insane. I, I, I love Macklin, but at these prices, is it time to sell? It kind of feels like definitely. I mean I, I, he, what would he have to do at this point to justify a 1.2 million dollar card? This one's tough because this is the first time I've had in my collecting career that it's somebody from my own team that is leading the pact. Right? So it's like it's hard to just, it's, it's because I believe in them and I believe that the Sharks are going to one-of-one a Cup. But okay, no homer. Look, look at, is he going to have a better individual statistical career than Connor McDavid? He's got a lot more time to one-of-one some cups. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh I know, I know Cups, fine. Cups are going to add value, but they're, but he's still like he can't average 25, 30 goals a game and justify a $1.2 million price. I mean what was he third or fourth in the league last year for, for goals and, and points? And I mean he was setting records among teenage, among teenagers that one point. Guys, I know it's insane. It's unprecedented in the world of hockey. I, I'm, we have to justify that price tag. Unprecedented in the world of hockey. But what, what Macklin Celebrini did last year is pretty damn close to unprecedented. The fact that you are, they were talking about him. They're saying the only other, every time they would show stats of like, well, he's doing something that the only other players who did this are one-of-one Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, like literally the Mount Rushmores of hockey. Crosby doesn't have a $1.2 million. He does not. Now maybe this is another like I'm sure a lot of people with big time hockey cards looked at that sale and went now wait a minute, I've got, you know, or like whatever the RP, Connor McDavid, RPA, Sydney Crosby, whatever All these cards that they're probably looking at that sale and going, well, then mine should be that in this market I should be getting five times what this card. I mean, sold for. Right. Look, I, theoretically I, I love, I love Macklin, but that price tag, it's crazy. Surprised. But you know what this does. People are like, well, I can't buy Macklin now because he's too high. What about Gavin McKenna? Right. Gavin McKenna is now the next celebration. You're going to say, what about Michael Misa? Yu-Gi-Oh What about Will Smith? No, but I'm saying this is the trend. There's always looking for the next guy. Right. So I missed out. I can't invest in the hundred thousand dollar RPA now, but I surely can chase Gavin McKenna this year because he's playing for Toronto. Huge, huge, you know, hockey town. And he's the next guy. You're, you're right because that will be the mindset going into. It's like, okay, I, Macklin, can't, can't, can't buy that one. But all the products coming out next year are going to be at a premium because McKenna, because people are going to be like, I got to get in early. Yep. Because Yu-Gi-Oh I can't let this happen. I can't, I can't let this happen again. But the exciting thing about it is it's going to that card out of a box that is relatively. Is, is not a huge, is, is not a Zebra expensive box. And then I mean to flip that the bedard is still out there of this quality. I don't. It probably goes for a lot less, but Berdard's starting to, I mean he didn't, didn't make the Olympic team. Granted he was I think a little bit injured and banged up, but you know, you're talking about a guy that did not make the Olympic team. Macklin did make the Olympic team for his country. So is it, is it like, are the Bernard collectors, did they already move to celebrity? So now you're going to see some celebrity guys move to McKenna and that's just like the hype train all over again. Good for Upper Deck though, to get themselves on the map. I think they one-of-one the best card on the esp. Now they have a card that's over a million dollars for hockey that's modern. They're both Macklin. Yu-Gi-Oh both Macklin cards. You're welcome. I, I got it. So it's even crazier that like, because the Sharks have never had a player that you can associate with, with being One of the highest subjects in the industry when it comes to market value. This is, this is new. This is a new thing. McKenna playing in Toronto. We've already seen it with Auston Matthews. Like, the McKenna stuff could go Absolute bonkers out of the game. I agree. You're a huge star in Canada. When we've seen. With McDavid, too, when McDavid came out the gate and that was a huge sensation. Like, think about it. What if. What if Toronto puts together a really good year and they make a deep run into the playoffs or they. Or if they one-of-one a Stanley cup in McKenna's rookie year. Oh, God. Then, Then, then he. Then, then we look at that. We look at Outburst comes out of McKenna and it probably sells for $1.8 million. If that happens, it really doesn't even matter if he's not as good statistically as Macklin. Like, that's just viewed at a whole other level of, like, you're the guy who finally helped get it across the finish line. Viewed in the same way of this, the players that are on the Knicks or the players are on the 2016 Cubs or viewed the exact same way. It's exciting time for hockey. And I mean, there could be some big games, possibly. Well, but with the, with the Finals, getting into the finals with Maple Leafs against the Sharks, that'd be wild. Oh, boy. That would be wild. Oh, God. I don't think either, either city could handle that. Like, someone's gonna. It's going back to the 2016 Cubs. It would literally be like Cubs in Cleveland going. Going out in 2016. It's like, sorry, someone's gonna have to wear this one and be the new longest active World Series drought. Sorry, guys. So it's gonna be the same thing, like, Right. The most tortured fan base. Yu-Gi-Oh Somebody's gonna be going, that'd be rough. Be fun. Well, Yu-Gi-Oh because, I mean, that's. I'm looking at some of the. Some of the competition here. So, I mean, I don't think the Sharks are going to get that far this year, but I. I surely think that they're going to make the playoffs and the Maple Leafs should make the playoffs, too. So what's the story that I see about the guy in a Beckett at Lowe's? All right, so this, this immediately caught my attention. First of all, did you guys know that Lowe's sold cards? No, I don't think I knew this. I don't. That's that to me. Right? One of the strangers. The last time I went into a Lowe's Maybe not everyone. No. Well, Yu-Gi-Oh It can't be. That seems. It just seems odd. It's definitely one of the stranger places I've ever heard selling cards. I did go into an Ace Hardware. Yu-Gi-Oh Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh they have cards and I saw. I saw cards there. It's. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean, I guess. So like, on your way out, like. Yu-Gi-Oh sure. Why not? A couple packs of cards. But were they just packs or like actual boxes? They're like blasters. Okay. Like retail skis. Okay. That's. That's not. That's not too crazy. So whatever. Whatever they're selling there. This comes from Sports Collectors Daily. A Waldorf, Maryland man is facing felony charges after investigators say he turned an ordinary five gallon Beckett from Lowe's into a mobile trading card vault at two local Lowe's stores. Edward Thomas Wotka is charged with organized retail theft, theft scheme, and nine misdemeanor theft counts. Authorities allege he stole trading card boxes valued at nearly $5,000 between July 4 and July 26 from Lowe's locations in Waldorf and La Plata, according to charging documents reported by the bayonet investigators said what? Would walk into the store, pick up an empty 5 gallon plastic button Beckett near the entrance, carry it to the trading card display, and pack the Beckett tight with selected boxes until it could hold no more, then filled with the filled Beckett in hand, would go past every checkout lane and out the doors without paying. And the alarms at the store apparently were not triggered as he left the building. So he wouldn't even pay for the Beckett Didn't even pay for the Beckett I was like, well, at least he could go and scan the Beckett Right. And you would think they have, like, lids for it. Like, that would have been at least the smart. Like, if you're trying to be smart about it. He wasn't being smart about this. Like, put the Beckett on. I bought the Beckett I didn't. I mean, I got home, I thought it, you know, came free with purchase. Yu-Gi-Oh somebody. Somebody filled my Beckett up with a bunch of trading cards. Right. Who did this? Yu-Gi-Oh I'm outraged. I'm outraged. At least you could provide a receipt at that point. But I bought the Beckett Being pretty incredible that he was able to get away with this for basically a full month. There had to be some Lowe's employees that saw this going down. And we're like, maybe he's a vendor. Maybe. Maybe it's Lowe's. Like, maybe that's somebody that's, like, working for Lowe's that's doing this it's also probably the last thing someone who's working at Lowe's is paying attention to is the trading card area. They're probably, they've got bigger things to worry about. They're. They're worried about, you know, wood. But I lamps now I'm thinking, well, how many people are just leaving with the Lowe's buckets or like the Home Depot buckets, right? Are people just like, those are free? Do they just not have like a, like a. I don't know. It's crazy. They're probably going to be putting in procedures very recently or very soon to, to negate this thing. But. Yu-Gi-Oh that's a lot. That's a lot of whack. See, from July 4th to July 26th, and I'm assuming that $5,000 is like in the account of like $20 blasters. So that's a lot of blasters to get up to $5,000. Yu-Gi-Oh it's most, it's got to be mostly Blasters. There's no way they're flipping. They're. They're doing hobby boxes. They may have Megas, but, you know, they may have fifty dollars, a hundred dollar boxes, but that's going to be the max. So you're telling me even if you stole a hundred dollar Megas, if, if they were, that, that means he's, he stole over 50 of them. How do you, how did he finally get caught up? I guess they were, they checked some. They started to notice that there was a lot of boxes gone and they started checking the security footage. They probably just realized that their whole display was completely empty. Yu-Gi-Oh they're like, man, this is kind of weird. And he probably wasn't going, he's probably going to multiple locations. Two locations. Yu-Gi-Oh Went to two separate locations and Yu-Gi-Oh started to look at. They started, started to probably notice that there's a lot of box. These boxes that are mysteriously gone that were just kind of sitting there before. Well, actually I think I might have put it together because a lot of these now and I think it's with Target. I think the deal is, is like it's either Excel or Beckett or somebody that it's not the Beckett grading. It's the company that distributes the retail. So Tops will basically give it to these guys. These guys will pay them and then they put it in the store. And I believe they only collect payments after. It's not like it's a weird way they do it. So I bet you if you look at these days, July 24, July 26, the vendor probably went in there and went, hm, we're out of boxes. But it says you guys still have 40. Right? So. Because I think it's a vendor managing the inventory and they probably come like once a month or every release and it probably took that amount of time to figure out like, well, hold on a second. There should be a 50 to 100 boxes here that are gone. Where's the sales? That's probably when it's like, okay, let's start digging into this. That's probably. This guy probably got. Guy probably could have got away with it, but he kept coming back to the same place. Pop that lid. Yu-Gi-Oh right. Like should have just done that and played dumb. I didn't know. Yu-Gi-Oh look at all this stuff. No wonder it was so heavy. Thought it was like cement. Did he get a free Beckett every time? So he's got like. Yu-Gi-Oh he's got a lot of buckets. Got like 50 buckets at least. Let, at least let him keep the buckets. And those are relatively inexpensive I've bought. I think they're like $5. Like you can't even pay $5. You're gonna steal 500 into a thousand dollars worth of wax and you're gonna not even pay the $5. Come on now, man. Can't do it. Can't do it. Speaking of lock them up. This isn't really a weird place, but it was an unusual place that to buy some. Some boxes. I think I saw on stock and trades feed today on his. On his Instagram where to find. He said in the LA area it's impossible to find any Chrome Update basketball. Except if you go specifically you have to go to Universal City. Walk right outside the shopping area at the NBA store and they have a ton of Chrome Update basketball just sitting there. They probably don't anymore after he put it up there. But the NBA store gets what the NBA store wants. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. They got to carry the NBA product. That's the nice little hack there. If you're in the Los Angeles area. Apparently very tough to find except if you're willing to navigate the parking garages at Universal Studios, which is a tough task, I can say. I don't know if we want to get into. Maybe we can save this, this, this Fanatics thing for next week. Maybe this Fanatics obtaining confidential. Yu-Gi-Oh there's a lot of. There's a lot of lawsuit jargon and stuff like that. But Yu-Gi-Oh there's. There's more pan and stuff like that. But hey, we got flagship football coming out on Friday too. I'm excited. There we go. Fernando Mania. Smell the fresh cut grass or the new turf and it's, it's a good time to be a sports fan. Say that much. I mean, Netflix has already got me bookmarked on the game in Australia where the Niners are going to be, you know, one-of-one by 30. And I've already bookmarked that game, so I'm excited for football. Good team. Looks good. Ross Stripling. Desean Stribling. Not Ross Stripling or desean Stripling. Looks. Looks great. Who's former Ross Stripley would be former San Francisco Giant pitcher who was unceremoniously traded one year. I remember he came into spring training, they're like, he's got the phantom ball and it didn't work at all. They're all former San Francisco Giants pitchers. Yu-Gi-Oh that's right. All former ones. They got speaking. What about, what about the club they got out there? Now, look, I don't know. But I do know Joshua Gonzalez, number one prospect of the system, got a walk off hit last night. Yes. No, he was that 10 game. We missed a fly ball just right to us. Pop right out the glove. Yep. It's like San Francisco. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh There's been a lot of sloppiness lately. I. We have, but we have a lot of. This is how you know your team is not doing good. When you start seeing a lot of numbers of players that are like 72, 76, 78, like that means that they're being brought up like from the minors or when we're talking about that Raphael Des hit the lowest ball over the fence that anybody's ever hit this year. That was actually probably sugarcoat. That game that we lost 13, 7 to. Yu-Gi-Oh I know. Yu-Gi-Oh Bryce Eldridge looks good. I'm excited about that. So we'll take that and Tugboat. Tugboat Wilkinson. Get to know the name. He's. He has been called up to the big leagues. I am excited to see somebody. Baby. It's a good name. Yu-Gi-Oh Good baseball name. And when you see him, you'll get why he's named Tugboat. I mean, hey, we had, we had the Caveman and we had a Big Daddy at one point. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh And the Nush at the same time. And those Rod Beck sent. Shooter, Shooter, Shooter. Now we got Tugboat. If there could ever have been a movie about Rod Beck, it would be Danny McBride. Right? I mean, it would have to. Yu-Gi-Oh It was just perfect. It's almost too perfect. It's too perfect. So. All right, that's all we got for you guys today? Check out our 30 case motif break on Fanatics this Thursday.
