NetPro RE-RELEASING Alcaraz Rookies Cards?! | Serving Slab #25

On today's episode of Serving Slabs, we talk about the new Net Pro RE release of Carlos Alcaraz 2022 rookie cards. Which cards are releasing and why. And I'll talk to you about what the PSA 10 values of the current Net Pro cards are that they actually released in 2022. So yes, big news came out over the last week as Net Pro did announce that they found some Alcaraz rookies that were printed in 2022 that weren't released. They're foil cards. They don't look well. They have the same images as the cards that they released in 2022 but. But they're all numbered out at 250. So this is what they are showing here. They're showing that they had a stack that were in the vault of when the old ownership of the company, you know, they didn't release them back then because of some printing thing where they came back too late, then they didn't want to sell them so they decided to hold them in the vault and now they're going to resell them, you know, four, four years later in 2026 when Alz has obviously now won seven Grand Slams and is no longer a rookie for many, many years now. Very big mixed reviews on Instagram, comments that were upset, comments that are excited that there's going to be foil rookies. But all, you know, all in all, like I'll give my opinion about this, but first I just want to give you all the facts of the re release first. I am calling this a rerelease. I know that Net Pro is saying these were printed in 2022. The original, you know, cards are printed as you can see here, Alcaraz at the signing session in 2022. There's one of him with his arms in the air. If you look at the bottom of the screen, if you're watching on YouTube or Instagram where it is the same picture of the celebration card but it's a foil and these would be the ones that are being released. They're not Chrome cards or like you know, thicker foil cards. And so they, like I said, they're calling them, you know, 2022 cards. But I think in all, you know, for all purposes that, that at least I'm thinking of this. It's a re release. Like this is not released in the rookie year. It's not even released, you know, within the calendar or the, the 52 weeks after the rookie year starts. It is like four years later and they're doing it of every non auto copy that they released of alcaraz back in 2022. So. So you've got the red shirt serving which is numbered out 2000. Normally the base card of this that was sold, but now there's going to be a rainbow foil numbered 250. So it's nearly 10 times as rare. I don't know what the cost is going to be on their website. They released this Friday, I believe on Friday. But yeah, it's, it's numbered out of 250. And the current PSA 10 of the of 2000 last sold actually four days ago for $813. So they were very hard to get PSA 10s on these cards. By the way, it's a super low pop rookie. Even though there's 2,000 printed, there's not many PSA 10s. They don't come up very often. I think the encased version. So the raw version of this Alaris card does around 150 to 200. They were floating upwards of 250, you know, for a while when he was healthy and obviously, you know, complete the career grand slam. But either way, like a PSA 10 does 813. It's going to be very interesting to see where the 250 sells for how people are perceiving on the market. Well, I, I would say majority of the market's upset because honestly a lot of us have spent money on Alcara's 2022 Net Pro cards. I've got the number 500, the, the action version in front of me, the retro, you know, like, does this number 250 hurt the market of the ones that are currently out there? It's a card that's 10 times as rare, nearly 10 times as rare as the base versions. And as the retro ones, the Celebration and the action one, you know, it's two times as rare. So it does throw a lot of, I would say, forks in the road for some of these cards and understanding where their markets go from here. We're not going to know until what the actual cost of these are at on their website too to see is that pro translates for a bunch of money. Like do they say, okay, the PSA 10 number 2000s, $813 card. Well, what happens if there's a number 250? It's a PSA 10. Is that then, you know, almost 10 times the value? It definitely would not be almost 10 times the value, but let's say is it even a $2,000 card? You know, they might say that they should sell them for a ton of Money like we'll kind of see where they go from here. I'd say initial perception right away is hey, this is kind of, kind of not good. Like your market's already defined, you're releasing more supply. Four years later you're trying to call them that. There are 2022 rookie release one now it's 2026 and they're kept in the vault and all this random stuff which I think causes a lot of questions and I think the biggest question yet to be answered is how much are you going to sell them for? Does it make sense to buy them if you're you or if you're me? Like, or if I'm me? I guess doesn't make sense to buy one even though that, you know, the optics of this release in my opinion is not good. Well, if they do sell them at like a very low price point, maybe it does make sense to buy them from a buy and sell or buy and grade opportunity. But at the same time I still don't think that this is, you know, a great release. All in all, they've got the green shirt where he's holding onto the racket. That's number out of 2,000. Normally the base card, a PSA 10 sold for 740 in February, which this one normally does sell lower than the red shirt serving. But there was this random PSA 10 sell in March of 1460 is a buy it now from COMC. I don't think that represents the current market value of that card to be honest. Like if you look at the sale of May 22, 8:13 for the, the red shirt, I would say that the 735 from February makes more sense for the green shirt PSA 10 out of 2000. But and then you've also got. So then they're bringing out the one that's in front of me right here. This is actually serial numbered. This one is serial numbered 323,500ps. Now the ones that are numbered out of 2000 it's just printed on the back and says/2000. It's not an actually like serial number card doesn't say like 1555 out of 2000. It's just print out 2000. This one in my hand is actually serial numbered. They're saying that these will be serial numbered out of 250, these foil ones. So yeah, that makes me think holding this like man, do I have a worse car now is this card less valuable in the market now? Is that 250 going to be much better? You know Way better than this one as it's more rare and it's foil. Probably will look cooler all that stuff. So like, you know, there is reason to be upset for sure. And, and I am as well. I mean it's. I still think it's worth seeing what they post them price wise at before, you know, at least deciding to buy one or not of these 250s. But I still don't like the optics. The PSA 10 of the one that I'm hold I have a PSA 9 but the PSA 10 is sold for 1400 last of the out of 500. And then you've got the retro celebration where he's got his hands in the air. That one's numbered out of 500. 500 normally like I said, they're all numbered out of 250. All the foils of all the different designs and that one sold for 1281 as a PSA 10 here. So February 2 was the last PSA 10 sale of the number 500 celebration. So in the end I don't really know how to say what to do come Friday, the sale of these, like you got to make a decision for yourself first of all, like do I have a bunch of Net Pro 2000? Am I mad that they're releasing out 250s now four years later and will you not buy because of that? Are you maybe just a Carlos NET Pro collector in general and you're like great foil Carlos rookies. Why would I not want to be involved in that? And you do think that these are 20, 22 rookies and great. You might fall in the camp where it's like man, if these Things release at $50 a card, like why would I not buy or try to buy one and just see if I can just sell it if it can be worth more on the market. Like and there's people who will do that too. I'm even considering that not saying I'm going to buy one yes or no as I, I'm still not really happy about this is really just kind of like a reaction episode for me and you know, we'll see where to go from there. I will say this, you know, Net Pro was acquired the company by new owners and you know they did the Eva Jovich release which I liked those cards. I have the, some of the autographed versions of those cards and they're really nice cards and I did buy quite a bit of those at the release. I really don't think that they're going about this very well. The 1 of 1 sales of the Eva Jovic with the double blind that they, you know, we're sending emails to people about offers and stuff like that. And then you've got this right here where this is a, you know, re release of a 2022 rookie. Like I'm not really happy about where the optics are going from NET Pro. Honestly I don't really think recently they've been great ever anyways and it just kind of keeps on bringing up more questions. I feel like that you know, one step forward, two steps back type of thing with NET Pro recently like so we'll just kind of see how these things shake out. But I will say is that they also mentioned that after the sale of the number 250 net pro 2022 now released in 2026 Alcaraz rookies, they are going to be announcing their next athlete which I think that most if not all of us guessed and can guess from the image, the outline that they shared. It's going to be Joel Fonseca. The hair, the hat. Yeah, that's, that's Fonseca right there in my opinion. And here's a picture of him from you know, a year or so ago. So he now has he cut his hair so he doesn't look like it anymore that like the outline. But you know, when he did have that hair that I, I'd say it's definitely him now. The same thing with Fonseca is kind of like Jovic except a little different. You know, for Fonseca he did already have his first tops Rookie and graphite and first tops auto which I do think those graphites are never really going to compare to what's going to come in the market for fun second. Like it's a great way to be an early on Fonseca if he has a huge French Open. Well guess what, those are the only cards in the market. So they're going to sell well right away. But you know, as top starts to release Topps Chrome with on card autographs in 2026 tops royalty with you know, very likely on card patch autos of Joel Fonseca, like I think that those are going to be fun seconds like huge cards in the market. Like the super fracture tops from Rookie Auto one of one and the if there's a rack knob Auto one of one Fun second like those in my opinion are going to be fun second two best cards ever made. If NET Pro is doing a release like great I, I think I'll definitely be interested in that one. Just like I was with the Ovich go for some auto stuff like that. But like I still think that this is kind of interesting dynamics because Net Pro is really like with Alcaraz the calling card was hey we're early, we're before you know, he's he's for Alcaraz specifically won a grand slam. Fonseca is is further off from that given that he's, you know, in the Alcaraz and Sinner era now. But either way like I still think there'll be a softer release and stuff like that. Those cards should do pretty well on on the market. So I'm excited to see that one. Still once again think that Net Pro can do much better. Hopefully they do in the future with their optics and messaging and stuff like that. We'll see where they go from here and how the one of ones are sold. Fonseca like that will be something to watch for for sure. But either way I want to know your guys's opinions on all of this on the Net Pro re release of the Alcaraz rookies on, you know, Fonseca getting Net Pro cards Yaris tops, you'll get more tops cards in the future.
