Okay, let's talk about psa. So this is not confirmed, as I said last night, but I had. I've spoken to. Well, now I've spoken. You've spoken. Got him. So I spoke directly to two bulk subbers and then heard from a direct source that spoke to one. Yeah, and then as of this morning, my inbox got hit with three more people I know probably 10 or 15 messages total from. Hey, we've heard but four more messages of people who actually spoke directly to their source. Multiple over five confirmed sources. Now PSA will be shutting down all service levels, I believe. Below regular. Not confirmed yet. Correct. Yeah, they didn't make a response yet either. Below regular or whatever the next step up is maybe Express whatever. I'm confused because I've heard that's where my only question about this is coming into play, is if this is so confirmed, why don't we know that yet? Like, why don't we know what level it is? Because it feels like I think they do and I think the people do. I just heard a couple conflicting reports, but they were like, well, I kind of got caught up talking and I got to go back and check that type of thing. I was like, okay, so I just don't want to quote either Way, but bulk at the very least. The lowest levels, the cheapest, which are taken 120 to 150 days. Yeah. It seems like will be shut down for multiple months, which I believe if I sell correctly, that means that the lowest cost option is $80. So if it's regular, it's 79. If it's the next level, it's 99. So one of those two will now be the cheapest levels going forward. The immediate backlash. I actually. I hate to even do this. I do need to talk about Boston Card Hunter after, because I. Now, I guarantee you those people also mainly buy and sell and trade in PSA holders. And if they have PSA cars, they charge more because the market. But neither here nor there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think this is the best way to slow. Because I was also told by people like. And we've seen the numbers. Price increase didn't slow anything down. Oh, yeah. Honestly, I mean, and I don't want to say that, and I don't want more price because price increases, you can never turn back. Like, it almost never comes back the other way. Sure. I'd rather you just say, hey, we're going to just halt it. So, again, I think it's good. In a perfect world, yes, they would speed things up and not have to shut down. But I've also expressed my fear of that where slabs come back too fast, which everybody wants that until the market floods and you have a ton of slabs, and then it's not a good thing. So I think there's a balance I don't think we're in a balanced area right now. I was horrible. You can't get a card sub for cheap and get back quickly. But that's where we're at. I went on the PSA website as of this moment, which is. It is now. What is it? Thursday, 9:00am Central Time. You can still sub for those smaller bulk account. I'm told tomorrow is going to be the cutoff. Oh, you think tomorrow? Okay, that's. That was the only thing that seemed to be very unison. Okay. I wonder too, if they do it across the board. They would have to because TCG is just as bad. Well, they already shut down in Japan, so the TCG bulk levels. Oh, did they really? I'm pretty sure that was announced a couple weeks ago. Yeah. Oh, which is good, by the way. You should just shut off tcg. And overall I'd be fine with that too. Yeah, I don't get rid of it. I don't think they were looking to throw away just money. Well, how are those creeps gonna play their game if the card's in a holder? I. That's not for us to decide. Let them figure that out. So the best thing that could happen. Here's the question though. With that happening, I wonder what goes on with Beckett and sgc. So that is the next question, right? What? Where do you grade? Because what we've seen in the past, every one of these companies has shut down at one point or another. Sgc, psa, bgs, they've increased prices, they've increased wait times. At one time or another, they've shut down. Grading has never slowed, ever. Yeah. Or stopped. So my question is, I looked as of last night, SGC on The website advertises 40 to 50 business days. Do you see a huge increase in cards there? Beckett is at 75 business days for their lowest level, which I believe is $18 with subgrades. Oh, wait, $18. Interesting. So again, how do people not go to Beckett then? Because you have to wait forever. It's not worth it. I mean, you have to wait forever with psa. Yeah, but at least I get a card back that's worth twice. I mean, we also did comps last night. That good stuff is still brutal in comps. I mean. Yeah, I can see that being the case. It's just the fact that they have the black label that holds up. As far as like being the most valuable of any grade does make me think that people would move there first because you at least have something that holds value. And if they have Something, then they can hope that there's other grades that will also hold value. Oh, here's why that's wrong, though. That's still correct in your world. This is where actually our worlds are totally separate on this. Yeah. TCG guys think that way. Or non sport sport guys realize we're not getting a black label anyways. That's been around for 10 years. It's not a new thing. We just know you're never going to get it. But we don't like Fable. It would still be higher valued though, right? Sure, but it's impossible. Okay, but. But TCG guys, it's totally like, you see them. Even the. I was watching that Pokemon office or Pokemon lounge is like a huge Pokemon show with the two kids. They have a big message. Why are you watching it? I watch it for this reason. I actually looked down at a little thing of TCG and Pokemon guys. And I specifically was looking at the Beckett thing. Okay. Somebody brought up to me recently, the Beckett numbers with TCG are really high still like Pokemon guys like them, huh? That's why a lot of the content. Not all, but a lot of it, you talk about. It's like the black labels talked about so much. It's like, oh, we used to talk about a sport guys as well. We realize it's the. It's the. It's the Yeti. You're never going to see it. Sure. Real Yetis are real. Bigfoot is what's in question. We all know Yetis are real. The idea of the black label, though, I just. I think the fact that they're advertising it so well, and it's not even when I say they. I think the TCG community is advertising it so well. Makes that feel very attainable. Even though. Yes, it is very, very difficult. But I don't. I think it has had a similar effect on sports guys, too. Here's what I. The numbers down. If it's had an effect. Which numbers? Look at them two years ago. They've been up the last few months. But the numbers in general are not Beckett, because, I mean, we all know what's been going on. Beckett. Beckett was basically on death's door. And then the fact that PSA is trying to revitalize. I think you're going to see Beckett numbers continue to go up from this point especially, of course. Well, but I mean, like, they were already going up. They were already trending up since, I don't know, the last time we checked numbers, what, a month, two months ago, like, they were actually on their. Since The PSA news. Yeah, but that's not relying on the. Again, the black label's been there for 10 years. If it was the black label, why wouldn't that be Be. Because marketing, things change. That's what I mean. Like, the market is changing to the point where if you can't. Let's take out the fact that PSA is about to shut down. If you are getting people who are pumping the idea that black labels are attainable because they're showing off their black labels and they're showing how that much they sold for, then people in that arena are going to start thinking, oh, well, maybe I can do that because I want to get my card to 10x what the next PSA 10 is. And then all of a sudden you see more people starting to put their cards in to Beckett. And that's what we've been seeing over the last couple months with Gem. Right. Those numbers at Beckett have actually gone up now. It's not crazy numbers. It hasn't spiked, but it is a increase. Oh, I think we just. Yeah, you're right about that. We just disagree on why. I don't think again. I don't. For sports. I don't think the black label has any effect on it. Well, I mean, like, again, it's. It. This is one of those, like, all ships, all ships rise scenarios where if you get something going up at Beckett, like the fact that you have the. The black label that is still so valuable, I think that is one of the reasons why you have increases overall because people will then say, oh, well, if I get a Beckett 10, which, I mean, this is again where people get confused because the gem mint is the 95 still and the 10 is what. What would you consider. What is that called? Yeah, that's. That's how I know their marketing sucks. 10 is a pristine. It's a pristine. Yeah, but that's the thing. No one cares like that it's a pristine because they don't really fully understand it's a huge market. I mean, well, there are pristine outsells PSA 10, but I've gotten pristines in my life. There. People. People will go there because they can think, oh, well, there are options that I have that will still give me a higher value than it would if I took it to CGC or SGC or TAG or wherever else. Because I do think, like you are going to. I mean, we've already established tins and black labels outsell PSA tens as is take out the fact that now you can't get Your cards graded at psa so you have to have people submitting to Beckett or somewhere else. Why wouldn't they just go to Beckett if they're already hoping that they could get a 10 and. Or black label? I think. I think that's why. Because resale value and return time are the two most important things for attainable grades. That's why SGC numbers have outpaced Beckett the last six months. Well, when you say that you mean percentage wise, not totals. But yeah. Oh, the totals I think have too. I mean SGC is over a hundred thousand of cards a month now. I don't know. Yeah, I'd have to check. I don't know what those number. I would be shocked to hear that. I have not seen. I didn't see that. I thought they were pressing 100. I could be. I looked up too much data last night and stayed up too late doing this. That's the fact where I was watching Pokemon YouTube. That's the biggest shock you could be right. I just. I. Again, I think we've already all known about that forever and it hasn't been same like it's the same argument with subgrades. Yeah, but Beckett has subgrades. We all want subgrades. If we all wanted subgrades, why weren't we using Beckett? I. Because we want resale value and return times. And that's the thing. There's a. There is a difference when we're talking about apples to apples. But that's in a world where PSA is open. I think I'm discussing more of a world where PSA is closed. This is where people would go in my opinion, because I don't. Time will tell. You could be right. I think especially. Here's the only thing with all of that. I do also think like this could be a game plan for PSA because they want to see the other two increasing. Yeah, they want to see Beckett and SGC increase in their value. I guess if you want to call it that. But it's also like. Well, there's a. There's a family connection. The fact that they're all collector based, owned, grading companies. I just don't see TAG or CGC being in the actual. I don't know, in the world of prices increasing. I don't see TAG or CGC being either of them. Resale price. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. And plus tag, I think just announced and pushed out dates again already. So I don't go in there like if I'm going to wait. I do think what will answer this Question for us, though, is over the next. Let's call it three months, where do we see more people go, SGC or Beckett? Yeah, that'll answer the question. I think we'll see what we saw in 2020. SGC went absolutely crazy because people were like, hey, resale value. Buy apples to apples. Resale value. Again, there's. There's obviously coin is almost equal, if not slightly higher. Like for anything iconic, the resale value is higher. In an SGC 10. That a Beckett nine five. Last night we looked at the 20th 2011 Trout Update Card. You know that card? Yep. Super iconic, even for non sports guys. SGC outsells the Beckett. The Griffey outsells it. The upper deck and the traded the two rookies. I looked up the SGC10, SGC10 outsoles, the 95 correct gem mintage. Yep. And then we looked up the Jordan, which is a crazy gap. And there was one other stupid card. I don't remember. I wonder. So when you look those up, were you looking those up and found that those specific cards or were you just like, oh, those were just the ones I happened to look up in. Those were shown to be SGC was out. Out paying the BGs like that. You phrase that again. I don't know. You were. You were looking up cards, not cherry picking. I guess I should say. I looked up the first four. I said, what are the most iconic cards where I know their sales. Griffey I know is on the move. I looked up to, by the way, PSA shatters both the upper deck. PSA 10 outsells both 2 to 1. There was the upper deck. There was the Trout. Dang it. I wish I could remember the other card. I cannot now. Upper deck, Trout. And maybe there was definitely another Griffey. There was one other big card. I thought it was the Jordan, but no, I didn't. I didn't look at other cards and just pick those four. Mine was, here's the four I want because I want to see the actual data. It's close. I did pull up the. The gem rate numbers. Okay. And this is what we're seeing as far as like the. The past few months. Let's call January. SGC had 43,000. Throw it on the board. Oh, you see? Well, I am taking from the Instagram page, so you're gonna have to look around. All right, let's see here. Okay. So January tickled my soul. 43K. You can see where I'm talking about. 43K. 66 for Beckett. Oh, this is how many they had? Is this all cards, though? This isn't just sports. Yeah, yeah. I'm taking all cards in, but I mean. Oh, if you want to look your point. Wins with all cards. No question. TCG is huge with B. Just looking at sports cards. That's what I was saying. The two worlds. That's where the divide is. Yeah. So, yeah, let's look at it. I. I am just curious. What does it go to? Sports. So Beckett had 25. SGC had 41. Yeah. Okay. Month over month. Still huge increase for Beckett in terms of month over month. That's. That's where I. I was. Definitely went from 4 to 5. Big increase there with Beckett. Yeah. Beckett in February for sports. Yes. Well, and just to give an idea, overall numbers, Beckett in February was 88,000, while SGC was 41. That's for all items. That's all items, Right. Just sports, though. Sports. You got SGC at 38. Beckett at 24. Yeah, 38 to 24. March, overall, 106 for Beckett. SGC 47. Pokemon perverts out in force. Let's see. SGC for sport was 43, and Beckett was 30 again. And that's when they were purchased in March, month over month. That's a 28% increase at Beckett. 12% at SGC, but still makes PSA buys them. I think there's now confidence. Hey, Beckett's gonna grow. Yes. Yeah, I agree. And then April, our most recent numbers. Okay, let's go back. 97,000 for Beckett again. All items. All items. Yep. SGC 50. So SGC actually gained 6%. Beckett lost 8% overall, though. Yep. And what's the sport number? Sports? SGC is 47. Beckett is 30. 29. So actually, plus 10%. Yeah, that's what I mean. Does that trend continue? It is. You think that's what I'm saying. I didn't know in the sports world, but I was looking at the sport part. Dude, I'm telling you, this is where. And it's not right or wrong, your world. You are absolutely right, dude. People love it. My world, we're still just like. I don't know, like, what am I doing here? Yeah, I do. Well, yeah. What do you think it is that is causing. Do you think it's just the fact that the subgrades. Because, I mean, you said. No, no. No one cares about subgrades. That. That's what I mean. We don't care about subgrades. We don't care about Black Lab Care about that. We don't. If we did we'd use them more. We care about resale value and return time. But sports guys Pricing is what, 19 you said for? I think so something around. We don't care about that either. SGC pricing was what? I don't even know. Okay. Yep. I am curious if that's like. If I think SGC is more expensive, though. That's what I mean. Like, we don't care about that either. We care about resale value and return times. And resale value, by the way, way more so than anything. Because PSA return times are horrible. We still use them. I mean, just to put a perspective, sports. 690,000 in April for PSA SGC. I mean, that is what, 7%? Beckett is less than 5%. Yeah, we don't care. That's. I'm telling you, it's. It's a wild trend. Pokemon and TCG world. I totally agree. Your point is absolutely valid. Where just. I think. I honestly think you guys. It also. And I think you'd agree with this, nobody grades with SGC on the TCG and non sports at all. Yeah. Their numbers. Almost all sport. But I think you'd actually agree your world. And I'm not even saying this. It's just so different. Sure. I think you guys are just a little bit behind. Like, you're kind of coming up behind us. We've had years of this. Like, you guys came in. I was like, hey, just like we did originally. Hey, Beckett's the thing. Let's do it. I think you guys are like five years behind us, collectors wise. Not in a bad way. Like, I mean, the numbers of TCG grading in the past five years, I've exploded. So if that's the case, you think that for the TCG non sport market over the next maybe year or two, there's a decline in Beckett because they start to realize they can't get a black label. Yeah. In the resale value is not nearly what it should be. So can you show me PSA in just March and April for non. For. Can you do just non sport or no? I mean, I can. Oh, just non sport. Not TCG or. I mean, anything non sport. As. As opposed to sport. Anything non sport. Yeah. Let me see here. So, because I'm curious what the numbers are, what PSA is trending is. Yeah. Go March. There we go. All right, so you're for everything. They're 2.1 mil. Yeah. Can you do me just sports for March? That's what I'm saying, dude. They're grading. They're grading 2 to 1, 1.4 million. Oh, there you go. That's it right there. That's the number one. TCG and non sport, they have a. They have way more. I mean, they're so perspective for the listeners. In March, PSA, non sport did 1.4 million. Beckett did 76. Same month over month, grade increase 19. 19% year over year, almost identical. Beckett was up 90%. PSA is up 87%. Can you do the same thing for April? Yeah. I think you're going to keep seeing this disparity grow, which is wild. Wasn't April the ones who we were just looking at, though? It was, but we didn't look at PSA at all. Going back to April concept. Okay, so April, you want non sport, though. Yep. This is only non sport, not sports. There you go. Yeah. So April Beckett graded 68,000. Non sport. PSA graded 1.5 million. Yep. Month over month. 3,000. Yeah. Not. Yeah. PSA plus 3%. Beckett minus 10% month over month. What's funny is I think you're going to keep seeing that. I think you guys will learn. Like we did. Like. Oh, we just keep. I hope you don't. I want the non sport guys going somewhere else. Well, I know you do, honestly, because it frees stuff up. I do the. The whole CGC thing. That's what's really interesting to me. So 604,000 at CGC for non sports. Huge. Great. Keep using them. And 85,000 for sports. Yeah. No one uses them for sport. Well, the fact that people are still using it for CGC though, is what's so shocking because still using cgc. Hang on. For the fact that non sport and TCG still uses cgc. Oh, non sport doesn't sell good either if it's cgc. No. Oh, really? Nothing sells good in cgc. I knew sports. I don't dabble with your world. No, no. Oh, interesting. Yeah. I mean, they're. They're. I'm sure you could probably find like a case. Couple exceptions, but yes, in the. The grand scheme, no one's trying to move. Like at the card show this last weekend, no one's trying to move cgc. There was a few, actually. I saw more people walking. Now, granted, this was an at booths, but people walking around, coming up to the table, there were more people coming up with tag graded cards than cgc, like, trying to move those. Now, granted, majority was definitely psa, but it is like, if you're not psa, what are you seeing for Beckett there, though? Because Beckett has huge numbers. The Only Beckett that I. Well, the only Beckett that I heard people talking about. I even see Beckett because again, I was at my booth. But the only ones I heard talking about was, oh, yeah, that guy over there has a black label. That's what I mean, though. Like, all these people using Beckett. I am also curious, where are these cards? You never see Beckett graded cards at shows for tcg. That's fair. I never hear people talk about it, but the numbers are huge. Where are they? Because, like, here's the thing. We're. We're talking about, like, oh, those are big numbers, you know, what did we say? Let me go back over to the non sport one. So thousands. Let's call 60,000. Beckett. 68,000. Yeah, that's a lot, right? But again, let's look at that PSA number again. 1.52 million. I understand that is drastically larger. But you see, that is why I think you're only. We. We assume we're not seeing any Beckett. But really, if we stopped and look, if we ask somebody, hey, do you have any Beckett slabs? Yeah, there's that. That one over there. So probably lines up. You're seeing. I think you're just 20 to 1 PSA. Exactly. You're just seeing the majority of PSA because that's what everybody's grading at. I agree. Okay, so. So yeah, we'll see what the ripple effect is. I think. I think. Personally, I think two things will happen. I think you'll see SGC numbers really increase and I think Beckett will kind of increase. Here's the thing. They're both going to increase though, for the European market, which I know is like a weird thing. It's just interesting because there's that ACE grading service, which is like one of the sidemen I think started. Oh, really? Yeah. Use ACE if you're in Europe. That's what I say. But they. Well, I don't think PSA would like us to promote that because I for now, use it. Get away from people. They are an actual competitor over there. Like they. Oh, really a stuff sell outsells. I think some PSAs. What about the hardware? They're not involved. I don't know if they have ACE hardware over there. That is a real question that we have to ask. Speaking of hardware, I'm gonna. He was like, how much are you using AI for card research? I was like, not really. Not much. He's like, dude, you have to start using it. One of the cards I bought recently was like this 1966 Spider Man Marvel card. And the card is. That's the one that most people were getting. It wasn't like the main Spider Man. It was like another offsh one. But it was still a popular one. Sure. What I didn't realize, though, is, like, there is a. It's very common to get the. This card where, you know, there's a sleeve that's white and the sleeve's supposed to be gray. I had no idea about that. I. There was no information. I never saw anything about it. But the more common one is this. This white sleeve. He's like, yeah, I threw it into Chat GBT and it said, actually, this is the card you want to look out for. Once you find it, you do see, like, oh, yeah, people are definitely paying much more of a premium for this card. And I ended up buying two of them at the card show this last weekend. But it's like, I would have never known that had it not been for tools like that. It is funny how, like, we started. I. It's. If you went back on this podcast, we weren't talking about AI hardly, I don't think at all. When we first started it and Then I'm sure I brought it up more as I started using it in the, you know, 20, 22, 23 or whatever. But now we're to the point where it's like it's not a joke anymore. Now it's like oh yeah, we're using that for. Oh and there's practical application for people who are not tech like you. Like I am not. But that's what I mean. Yeah. I. Those kids who are sick, they are going to make sketch cards. We're going to have them make the sketch and then we are going to auction those sketches. Anything that we make goes to them. Goes to the card show. No, goes to the charity. Actually. I guess. I don't know for sure. My idea is that it goes directly to the organization. So I haven't talked to Funko.
