You might have guessed that the MVP from the NBA Finals would be high on the list of the top five cards today. But there's a baseball player that is putting immense pressure on him for the number one spot. Who is it? We'll give you the top five now. Hello sports card investors and welcome to another top five cards from the Arena Club studio here inside Cards hq. Look, the NBA Finals might be over, the Stanley cup finals might be over, but that is not slowing down the card market. Cards are continue to be as hot as they have ever been and some of these cards that are going up in today's show, they are going to blow your mind. And of course, today's top five is sponsored by Whatnot. Whatnot has awesome live auctions every day and night starting at just $1 for packs, boxes, breaks, singles and more. Let's start today's show by taking a look at the overall sports card market. With the market pulse by market movers and ladies and gentlemen, this is what I am talking about. Over the last seven days, the SAI 500 index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards is up once again almost 1%. Almost over the last 30 days it is up almost 4% and over since the start of the year. Since January 1st it is up over 28%. It seems like right now nothing can slow down the surging sports card market. That's me knocking on wood, hoping that this run continues because what a run it has been. But. But now let's talk about the cards that are going up and down the most. It is time for today's top five cards. We're starting today's list with a cold card as we do every week, because it is a reminder that sometimes the hot cards featured on this program can quickly turn cold in the sports card market. So please invest carefully. And that is the case with Cole Caufield, the right wing for the Montreal Canadiens. Look, this is a lesson that whenever a player, no matter how good they're playing, whenever a player's season comes to an end, whenever they get bounced out of the playoffs, oftentimes their card prices start to fall as we head into the offseason for that player. And that's exactly what happened with Cole Caufield. And look, Montreal had a good season. He had a great season for Montreal. In fact, he provided consistent scoring. He served as one of the focal points for Montreal's offense all season long. But ultimately the Canadiens didn't make it to the Stanley Cup Final. They were eliminated by Carolina, who of course went on and hoisted the trophy. And so when the Canadiens fell short and Caulfield fell short despite generating a lot of chances, but Montreal's offense didn't look great against Carolina and they get eliminated. And now Caulfield's cards are starting to drop. Let's take a look here in Market Movers. This one's just this one just started to drop a little bit. This is his 2021 SP Authentic Future Watch Auto to 999. This one's only down 2%, but it also hasn't sold in a little while. Probably will go down a little bit more next time that sells. We're starting to see more downwards movement in Caulfield's upper deck. Young guns base PSA 10 this one is down 20% over the last 30 days. Most recently sold at $280. But a month ago that was $350. PSA 9 Similar story starting to soften a little bit. This one is down 11% and in raw condition it is down 6%. So his market is starting to soften. May continue to decline for the next 30 to 60 days here as we head into the offseason. That is typical. But if you believe in him and you believe in the team and you as we get towards the start of next season, hopefully his cards will start to pick up again. But now let's talk about cards going up and we're starting with our investment card of the week. And this week it is the man who has the award named after him. It is Cy Young. We're going back to the pre war era. We're going to Cy Young's 1909 T206 card. Here's a trivia question for you. Can you name the teams that Cy Young played for? I bet you cannot because none of these teams exist anymore. He played. He started his career with the Cleveland Spiders. Then he went to the St. Louis Perfectos, which then became the Cardinals. Then he went to the Boston Americans, which then became the Red Sox. And then he went to the Cleveland Knaps. And then he went to the Boston Rustlers. What are these teams? I don't know. But throughout it all, Cy Young became one of the most legendary pitchers in baseball history, setting records that have stood for more than a century. He had a 22 year career. He won an MLB record 511 games that's never going to be touched and threw three no hitters including the first perfect game of the modern era in 1904. Over his career he pitched more than 7,300 innings, 749 complete games. That is never going to be touched either. So this guy will forever be legendary with these awards that will never be touched. Might not be bad to buy yourself a Cy Young card as an investment. And just wait till you see what this 1909 T206 card has done in the market over the last year. Because we just had a PSA8.6 sale of this card for $108,700. That one is up a lot. In fact, let's look at the details over the last year. That PSA 8 a year ago was an $82,000 card and now it is close to a $109,000 card. Let's look in some lower grades where it becomes a little more affordable. PSA4 has jumped from $4,920 to $5,124 over the last year. PSA3 from just over $3,000 all the way up to $4,750, PSA2 from a little under $3,000 all the way up to $4,331 and PSA1 from $932 up to $1400. Of course, vintage card prices change based on eye appeal as well, so you can't always just go off the trend charts. You should look at each sale, look at the quality of each card, but the overall trend line is clear. Cy Young has been a solid investment over the past year, but now let's talk about baseball players playing today. And in the number five spot on today's list it is Cooper Pratt, the shortstop for the Milwaukee Brewers. Cooper Pratt has quickly become one of the hottest young names in baseball after his recent call up to the major leagues. He was one of the brewers top prospects, but he got the promotion with a strong season in the minors. Showcasing a blend of power athleticism and advanced bat to ball skills, he has been viewed as a potential long term answer for the team at shortstop. Scouts are excited about both his offensive upside and his defensive versatility and that promise is showing in his card prices. Look here in Market Movers. This is his 2024 Bowman First Prospect auto car. This is the refractor number to 1499 and a PSA10 condition. It's up a lot. This most recently sold for $347 but that card was $250. If you go back a month ago, here's the same card in raw condition. This is now $125, but you could have scooped that for $81 a month ago. And here is the non refractor version of the Same card in PSA 10 condition. $245 today, $186 a month ago, and in raw condition, $92 today, less than $60 a month ago. Been a really nice month for Cooper Pratt's cards. Let's stick with baseball and actually let's stick with the Milwaukee Brewers. For the number four card today, it is Kyle Harrison, a starting pitcher for the Brewers. Kyle Harrison has found new life with Milwaukee, giving the brewers another talented young arm as they continue to contend in the National League. In fact. In fact, since joining the brewers, he has delivered several strong outings, including a recent start where he worked six scoreless innings with three strikeouts, picking up his eighth win of the season. His fastball has regained its effectiveness and his ability to miss bats has helped him settle into a larger role in Milwaukee's rotation. Let's take a look at a couple of his cards here over the last 30 days. This is Kyle Harrison's 2023 first Bowman Chrome prospect refractor number to 499 in raw condition. Most recently sold for 75 bucks, but a month ago that was about $50. Nice increase there on that card. Here's his 2024 Topps Chrome rookie autograph refractor number to 499. This is a 30 card today, but that was only a 16 card. If you go back 30 days ago, here's his 2024 Topps Chrome black Auto Rookie Raw condition. This one recently has been as high as about 35, but a month ago that was down around 15. And then finally, let's look at his 2024 Topps Heritage Real One autograph in raw condition. This is a $30 card today. That was a $14 card 30 days ago. Been a really nice month for Kyle Harrison. Let's go to basketball for the number three card today. And it is one of the heroes of the NBA Finals. It is OG Anunoby, the forward for the New York Knicks. OG Anunoby played a pivotal role in the Knicks championship running, providing elite defense and timely scoring throughout the NBA Finals. Yes, particularly timely scoring in game four with that little tip in right at the end to give the Knicks the victory in that huge comeback effort. And over the five game series, OG averaged 21.2 points per game. So he gave New York a reliable scoring option alongside Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns. Very, very memorable moments during the NBA Finals. He will forever be remembered by Nick fans, Knicks fans and basketball fans in general, and a lot of them are remembering him through his cards. Let's look at some of OG's rookie cards. OG's OG cards. Here we go. This is his 2017 optic base PSA 10. This card is up 275% in the last 30 days. It is now a $94 card. That was a $25 card 30 days ago. Not bad. This is his prizm base PSA 10 from 2017. Prizm this thing is sold. This thing sold for over $100. A couple of different times. Come down a little bit since then, but you could have picked that card up for $25. If you go back 30 days ago, here's his Prism Silver in PSA 10. This most recently sold for $200. You could have bought that for $72 30 days ago. Here's his Prism Autograph from 2017. Rookie PSA 10. This card is $1,020 as of the most recent sale. That is up 626%. That card was $141. If you go back 30 days Ago, Prism Silver in raw condition. Similar story. This one's up 973%. It sold for as much as $40 in raw condition. That was $2 and 70. 75 cents 30 days ago. This card's gone from $2.75 to as high as $40 recently. And his 2017 Prizm Auto in raw condition. It's up 349%. Every OG card is having a moment right now. Let's go back to baseball for the number two card today. And you're not going to believe this. We're going back to the Milwaukee brewers, certainly the first time in top five history that we've had three Milwaukee Brewer cards in the top five. That is. This is unprecedented, but we have it here because it is Jacob Mizorowski in the number two spot today. And he could have been number one. He could have been number one. The Miz continues to establish himself as one of the most dominant young pitchers in baseball, pairing elite results with historic velocity. In his most recent outing, he threw a complete game shutout with 15 strikeouts, delivering one of the most impressive starts of the season. He also reached 105 mph with his fastball, showcasing the type of overpowering stuff that really no other baseball pitcher can match with A complete game shutout, triple digit velocity and ace level production, the Miz has become one of the hottest names in the baseball card hobby. Look at this chart in Market Movers and you have no doubt that that is true. Let's look at these cards. This is Mrs. 2022 Bowman Draft. His draft pick auto. First Bowman draft pick auto. The Sparkle refractor number to 71 in PSA 10 condition recently sold for $9,400. Go back a month ago and that was $3,600. Wow, that is a nice increase. How about his non refractor? How about his first Bowman 2022 Bowman Draft Auto? Just the base version of the auto, $3,125. 30 days ago it was $1,000. Raw condition of that card $650 30 days ago, $378. How about his Chrome Sapphire edition non auto raw condition, $205 from 2022 Bowman Giraffe Sapphire 5530 days ago. That's gone from 55 to 205 dollars. And finally, how about his 2026 tops Heritage Real Ones autograph in raw condition, 543 dollars as of the most recent sale. That was 198 dollars just 30 days ago. What a month for the Miz. Jalen Brunson, the mvp, the guard for the New York Knicks, who delivered one of the greatest playoff runs in Knicks history. I would say one of the greatest playoff runs in NBA history. I He led New York to their first NBA championship since 1973. And in the championship clinching Game 5, Brunson erupted for 45 points. 45 on 14 to 27 shooting, added three rebounds, three assists, two steals. A vintage superstar performance. And of course, it was only the game before that that he helped lead the Knicks back from a 29 point deficit, completing the largest comeback in NBA Finals history. He, of course, won the Finals mvp. Well, deservedly so. Congratulations, Jalen Brunson. And hey, congratulations to you if you own any Jalen Brunson cards because look at what they're doing. Look at the screen in Market Movers. That was a 15 dollar card 30 days ago. This is His 2018 Prism base in PSA 10. This card is now over $500. 30 days ago it was $178. How about his Prism Silver and PSA 10? This card is now close to $2,000. 30 days ago it was $500. Not bad. His his case hits his short prints. They're doing good stuff too. How about his 2024 optic downtown in PSA 10? This is sold recently for as much as 24 for as much as $4,225. 30 days ago that was $2,400. And then finally his Kaboom 2024 Revolution Kaboom PSA 10. The vertical $10,700 as of the last sale.
