Make it make sense. Victor Wembanyama has accomplished more by age 22 than just about any basketball player in history. But despite that, some of his cards have crashed by 50% or more since he lost the NBA Finals. If you have Wemby cards, what should you do? And what does this mean for the sports card market overall? We'll debate now. Hello sports card investors and welcome to another episode of Cards on the Table from the Arena Club studio here inside Cards hq. Teapot and Scott, I am worried. I am worried that the sports card, the hobbyists, the collectors out there, some of them have lost their darn minds. Like you maybe. So based on what is happening in the sports card market, guys, do I need to tell you, do I need to remind everybody out there about the greatness, the young greatness that is Victor Wembanyama? This 22 year old phenom, a unanimous rookie of the year winner. Unanimous. The youngest defensive player of the year ever in the history of the NBA. The first unanimous defensive player of the year ever in the history of the NBA. All NBA first team. All defensive first team, top three in MVP voting. Probably should have won. Has been the blocks leader in the NBA three times already. Was the conference finals MVP and led his team to the NBA finals. All by age 22. If I listed those things out for anybody who was not part of the sports card industry, they would say wow, what an amazing player to invest in their cards. What an amazing card investment that must be for people who have Victor Webb and Yama cards. But, but on June 1st, just a couple of weeks ago, Victor Wembanyama's 2023 prison based PSA 10 card was $542. Today it is $320. On June 2nd, Victor Wembanyama's twenty 23 Prizm pink ICE PSA 10 was $2,180. Today it is $1,139. That's down by half. On June 3rd, Wemby's 2023 Prizm silver PSA 10 was $4,005 and today it is $2,677. Just two weeks later and it's the high end of the market is starting to feel some of these effects as well. His 2025 Tops Chrome Gold Refractor Auto PSA10 has dropped $24,000 in value in the last three weeks. The WEMBY market is crashing. I think this makes absolutely no sense at all. But I also think it speaks to just a greater hype driven phenomenon that sometimes I know we feed into it. I'm going to be honest and say we feed into that. Who's we? But sometime, but sometimes only one of us post these. Sometimes it drives me a little crazy, boys. And this is one of those times. Teapot Help me make sense of this. I will gladly help you. Collectors with Wemby cards do. I will help you make sense. I'm disappointed it appears you haven't consulted market movers because you snapped a chalk line on some dates at where prices were His Prism Silver, I believe you said on June 3rd was at $4005 in PSA10 condition. Today it's at 26772670 $700 T Pot just about May 16th. A month ago his Prism Silver PSA10 was at $2651. Right where it is today. Right where it is today. This was a hype spike. Just like everything else, this was a hype spike. And all these accolades you listed off. First of all, he's not in the top 25 all time of most points scored before the age of 22. And everything you rattled off was defense. He's 7 foot 4 with an 8 foot wingspan. If he didn't win Defensive Player of the Year, I'd be wondering what the heck is wrong. Like there's no nobody else is going to win this award ever again as long as this guy is in the league. Which is pretty frustrating for other players like Osar Thompson and people who are really good on defense. They have no shot. Rudy Gobert has won Defensive Player of the year four times. A fellow Frenchman, Jaren Jackson Jr. Won defensive player of the Year. Nobody cares about those accolades. Nobody cared when Giannis was just the third player in NBA history to win MVP and Defensive Player in the year. Hakeem Olajuwon's cards would be worth a heck of a lot more if people cared about defense as arguably the greatest defensive center of all time. So I'm still waiting. There's a lot of hype into this. He's really good. The spurs arrived, as most talking heads have said, ahead of schedule. Ahead of schedule. Nobody. I didn't. Maybe spurs fans, some of them expected this type of a run this year. I did not. I figured they'd finish like fifth in the west and compete, maybe win a round and then get bounced by the Thunder or something. That did not happen. They look really good. They have a lot of depth, a lot of young talent. He didn't have a good Finals. In fact, he had just about as Disastrous of a Finals as you could have imagined. I thought the spurs would take that series in five. The opposite happened, and they had multiple collapses. He cost them the end of two different games. Missing free throws and turning the ball over. It wasn't a good Finals appearance. This guy's incredibly young. He's a total freak. The price, if you look at this last year, even where his card is now at 26.77, where it was a month ago, it's up 277% from a year ago. Today, where it was a year ago, it was transacting at $710. And if there's one thing I'm frustrated about that I'm worked up about, it's that I didn't put my money where my mouth was. When you and I were sitting here a year ago and I was saying, we should probably be buying Wemby. You bought Wemby. I did not. So I'm sitting here, like, with a lot of regret saying, okay, where's my buy point now? Because this story is far from over. Does this still go down? Does this still go down? I actually have a market movers video coming out next to talk about kind of the offseason strategy and specifically looking at the NBA, how you can use price alerts and market movers. I think I would set a price alert around $2,000. I set one at 1800. But maybe if you want to know if they're really, like, tanking, if this card drops below, like, that point, he's not going anywhere. Unless he gets injured, he's not going anywhere. The hype's going to be right back next year, heading into the regular season. I totally agree. So that's why I think some of this is so insane. This is. But it's not. When you see what. What happened over the last. Right like this. This card took three major steps, and I think the most recent one. Let's put this graph on the screen. We'll put it on the screen, people. To see from market movements, it took this big. It took a big step during the season, in October when the season started, and he was back and healthy. And then it took another big one in March when the spurs started really looking like contenders. And they think they had beaten, you know, the Thunder three times in the regular season. And it just went, like, very, very fast from 1500 up to 2800. And now it's kind of stabilized. Maybe it comes down to, like, 2,000. This last thing, I'll say it was, like, two weeks ago. I Will eat crow right now. It was like two weeks ago I sat here and said I did not think his cards would come down in the off season. Now, the caveat on that is, if you go back to two weeks ago, they weren't quite as high as that high point when we were talking about it. They went up even more as they went into the finals, and I just didn't expect that disastrous of a finals. So it was a combination of a couple of things. So the real question to me is, like, do they stabilize here at 2600 bucks and it's Prism Silver as an example, or do they have still more room to come down? If they come down to 2,000 bucks, like, whatever your price point is, if they fall by that much, like 40% from where they were? Not financial advice. I just think there's. I think that's an opportunity, personally. So Teapot's trying to be the voice of reason here. He's. He's zooming out. He's looking at this big picture. That's a fair argument that Teapot makes. He says, let's not panic here. It was, look at this. Let's look at this in big terms. Let's look at the cycle. The one thing I'll say, and the reason why these drops don't make as much sense to me is I don't feel like we're talking about Drake May or Jaden Daniels or those types of players who have seen these spikes, who, who predictably at the time, people could say, he's having a really good year. He's, you know, likely to encounter a slump next year or. Or, you know, he's likely to kind of fall down because their schedule is going to get a lot tougher next year. People would look out to the future with those guys and say, that was an awesome year. I don't know that it's repeatable. Wasn't repeatable with CJ Stroud. Wasn't repeatable with Jaden Daniels. We'll see about Drake May, my guess, is not repeatable. And, you know, that's. It makes a little more sense. But Wemby, I think Wemby is set up in a situation where it is repeatable that he will continue to win all these awards, that he will go back to the finals next year, that he will likely lead the spurs to multiple championships. I think this is all set up for him. So in my opinion, the drop right now is going to be followed by a rise once again. And it's going to be, in my opinion, what will be A predictable pattern with him. We'll see. You never know. Maybe he gets injured, maybe something happens. But how do you feel about this Scottish? Does this make sense with Wemby or is this. Is this nonsense? This is typical irrational basketball card collecting behavior. This is what usually happens is we have one or two players every once in a while that just pop off. We're kind of in a weird situation where we're trying to feel like the, the vacuum between, you know, when Michael Jordan retired, LeBron debuted right then. Now LeBron's about to retire. Trying to fill that with Wemby right now. We got a little bit ahead of ourselves, especially them going to the finals this early, kind of ahead of schedule. Him underperforming is a big deal. It reminded me a lot of Aaron Judge dropping the ball in game five of the World Series. And that really is kind of stuck with him for a little bit, but then he bounced back strong. And I fully anticipate that with Wemby. It's funny, when you were talking, Ty and I were both pulling up market movers to show that Silver Prism and how much it's actually moved up. I think Ty mentioned this, but last year it was a $730 card right now. And so to see it go from 730 up to, you know, 2600, you should be really happy about that. That's great growth and appreciation. And I don't think it's going to drop down to that price point. I think it's going to bounce back just like, you know, every offseason. We even saw with Shea last year when he won the championship, his cards dropped because basketball has this bad habit of pricing in accolades before they happen. And so that's what happened here. We priced it in, he didn't get it, and so it dropped, which I think makes perfect sense. Let me, let me explain one other thing, and we can put this on the screen, too. The year is 2024. It's the NBA Finals. And a guy who's in his age, what did I see? 24 season. So a couple years ahead, finishes third in MVP averages 33.9 points a game, nine rebounds, 9.8 assists, which was first, I believe one of the top ones in the NBA for that year, and actually had an effective field goal percentage of 57.3% higher than WEMBY this year was Luka Doncic and went to the NBA finals and lost and his cards came down quite a bit since then. Luca was Wemby before Wemby. And so I think It's a different story. The, the size and everything is such an imposition now with Wemby, but there's no guarantees in any of this. There's no guarantees. No guarantees in any of it. And Luca's Prism Silver spiked up at that time to almost $1,900 and then came literally crashing down to a thousand and then lower than a TH000 by the, the start of the next season. So I, I, I hear you. Wemby has a uniqueness to him that when you're watching a basketball game, your eyes immediately go to him and they don't go away from him. I agree. He has this uniqueness to him. Luka does not. Luka is a great player. He's fun to watch. He does good things. But he, he doesn't stand out to the same degree of uniqueness. Wemby has a uniqueness that gives him the ability to become a generational talent that people remember and talk about forever. I think it's going to happen. I'm a big believer in Wemby. I'm actually going to continue to buy Wemby cards. I actually like this irrational dip in his card prices because, like you, I'm going to be looking for opportunities to buy even more Wemby this offseason. And I do need to pick a bone with you, Mr. Teapot, before we move on to, to the next topic. We got some good, good additional topics to talk about. But I post about my Wemby collection the other day and about how it's irrational that his prices are dropping. And teapot, like about 800 other people are in my comments with the comment, Jordan never lost in the finals. Jordan was 6 0. Jordan never lost in the finals. That is the dumbest thing. People say this all the time. That is the dumbest thing that somebody can say in a comment. Do you know why? You know what Wemby didn't do? Teapot? Wemby didn't lose in the first round of his first playoffs. Jordan lost in the first round in 85, lost in the first round in 86, lost in the first round in 87, lost in the conference semifinals in 88, lost in the Eastern Conference finals in 89, lost in the Eastern Conference finals In 1996, straight years of losing in the playoffs before he made the NBA finals. Talk to me. I told you I'd get him with that. He's 6. 0 in the NBA Finals. I hate that. Watch this. I'm going to get Jeff all riled up. All riled up. And Then, by the way, Jordan won the three titles, but then people forget. He comes back, he loses again in the playoffs before he then wins the next three. People act like it was six straight final wins. No, it was not. He lost in the middle of that, too. Sounds like you're trying to convince people of your Jordan. Jordan collection shouldn't be worth as much. Lost. Lost. I've never seen a guy argue against his most valuable assets so. So vigorously. I'll believe you once you sell your Jordans. I love Jordan. I love Wemby. I love them all. I love. The difference here is you think this. This decline is irrational. I think the rise was irrational. That's fair. This is rational. It's coming back down to earth. You know what? I was the only one that said his cards will go down if he loses. I'll tell you this. There's. If there's. If there's one thing I've learned about the sports card market in the past several years, it is all irrational. It is all a bit irrational. It's all we're. It's all a bit irrational. And every single one of us who's out there buying cards and we're all slightly irrational. It's. It's all irrational. It's kind of what makes it fun. That's kind of what makes it fun. Let's rip some Arena Club slab packs. That's fun to do as well. All right, Scott, take us through. What did you decide to rip today and why? So I decided to open an emerald baseball pack. There's a few cards in here that I think I really want. Of course, we have the Grails. Those are very hard to get. And so I was looking more down in the lineup category. And there's a few Ohtanis in here that really caught my eye. The first one. I am a huge fan of Stadium Club Chrome. Stadium Club Chrome is one of my favorite sets. This is a really big chase, but we have other Ohtanis. We also have, again, Stadium club Chrome from 2020. It's one of his most iconic images right here, followed by even a Tops Chrome update. So those are great. I also like to look at the bottom of the pack and think, if I were to get one of the lower cards, would I be happy? And we have, like, Hank Aaron SGC five 1960 cards, Roberto Clemente 1956, and a lot of other vintage mixed in, plus, like, a trout autograph. So this pack seemed pretty loaded. All right, let's. Let's rip this. See if you're happy with it. Let's rip this. The green emerald. Baseball. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, I mean, that's a classic. I'll take familiar. You. You got that a couple of weeks ago. You got it again. You' your collection of Ken Griffey juniors. I have a nice course of nine. Griffey quartering the market. Okay. And that's. That's. I think a little over a 400 card. So let's see. We've got panini prism basketball coming back, but this time it is unlicensed. Unlicensed? The first time we're gonna ever. We're gonna have unlicensed prism basketball panini has put out a preview of what these cards look like. The big signer they're promoting is VJ Edgecombe because they don't have many signers. Most signers are exclusive with tops and fanatics, but they do have BJ Edgecomb. That's probably not what collectors are going to care about as much. What they will care about is the fact that, of course, Panini is going to continue to have Mangas. They're continuing to have Color Blast, they're going to continue to have Prismania. And because those cards are illustrated, they're able to illustrate them in such a way that. That it. It doesn't emphasize the fact that these are unlicensed cards. So they don't have the team logos. But you wouldn't necessarily know that by looking at how they illustrated some of these cards. So my question to you, what do you guys think? Do you think Prizm will continue to have the cachet that it's had in the past with its unlicensed release that's going to come out later this summer? Teapot, your thoughts? Yeah, it's a no for me, dog. I don't. I don't know. I just. There's so much to choose from. Now. Look, if people. What was the. Did we see a price point on this? Did you say there was a price point? What are these are going for? They're not out yet. They're not out yet. So I don't think we're gonna know. I mean, I guess it's gonna depend on the price, like, whether people would feel like there's value in it, like other unlicensed products. Right. Like, if they're going for that, then, you know, that's the biggest push or pull or whatever it is for people who buy unlicensed is I can afford to get into something and rip it for a better price. I can get some autos, whether it's leaf, Wild Card Panini, now other stuff. They. There are people who enjoy that. That stuff does sell. It moves and there's a market for it. I just. I guess I'm a snob. I like the licensed stuff and going to like unlicensed Prism. I said it before. I just. I enjoyed the era. Many things about it. I have a lot of really cool Panini cards in my collection. And now I wish it would just sort of go away. Not like, keep trying to hang around when you don't want it around. I don't want it around anymore. I want to keep done with the Panini. He wants to close the Door on panini. What do you think, Scott? I respectfully think they look terrible. I know you mentioned that. Like you can't tell. The logos would have been. They're very obviously not licensed cards. They're pajama cards. They look like. It was like a couple of guys down at the rec center who had just their jerseys they got from the one person who got them all made. Like they don't look very good. And plus the Vijay Edgecomb card, it's a sticker autograph. If you have a great player that you're kind of bragging about having, at least have it be on card and be a desire. But it's a unlicensed sticker. And the thing is, I remember we talked about like brands and like if they can stay around and all those things, I do think the inserts have a good opportunity to be there. The kabooms, the downtowns, whatever they're going to be, I think those will have value. Everything else will be worthless. Truly to me. Like I think we say worthless relative to the Topps Chrome brother that's out there. But we saw the same thing with Topps Chrome when. Topps Chrome when they had like that really random set with all the veterans. You guys remember that a couple years ago and maybe it's Topps finest. A couple of those sets that Topps made, those had no value, even though that's an important veterans in them. Yeah, yeah. And so it's one of those situations where I don't think collectors are going to want these. Maybe the gold prisms are still going to have value out of 10. Sure. But the other random stuff, I do not think they're going to carry much. Okay. The only one I feel you can't really notice is this color blast, the Jeremiah Fierce color blast. But I'd rather. Personally I would rather buy like I'd support like custom card artists over going to this. And there's some really cool stuff out there that you could get this actually like a one of one from a real artist. I don't know. Some of this, I don't think it's going anywhere. I think Prism will always be around too, too valuable of a brand. But just like in baseball, it's like a D tier product now. So. All right. The reviews are in and they are not good. Okay, let's, let's. I want to talk about something going on in the baseball card market in Otani. This is worth discussion. First let me show you this real quick from bcw. Oh, it's like magic here. The cool thing is, as your collection grows, you can just buy more of these graded card catalogs. They come in this unit here. We could end up filling the entire room with these. You might have to. With all the Wendy cards in my collection that I now cannot sell because they're. Yeah, you can put all your own licensed PRISM in one of these. What do you like most about these? Scottish. I like that they fit. And, like, all of the. Like, the individual ones fit really well. And all the shelves you can buy online. Yeah, they do. Like ikea. I have one. They go perfectly, like, legitimately. Before doing this review, I did not know this existed. And this is me just saying, like, I want to take these home once we're done with this review, because I think they're awesome. Yeah. But they fit all different sizes of slabs, so every brand will fit in here. And the good thing is, if you do stack them together, you can make, like, one of them psa, one of them bgs, and kind of organize them that way. They got little dividers. Let's talk about Ohtani, Guys, this is an interesting story. So one of our. One of our people digging in our data in Market Movers pulled out some interesting stats. And this is not. This is not a universally fair comparison, because this is also somewhat skewed by the number of years the players played and the number of cards they have and the number of cards we track in Market Movers. But what they showed was kind of interesting. Ohtani, his cards sell so often. And what they were doing is they were comparing the gap between the baseball player who sells the most, which right now is Ohtani, and who's in second place. And according to our. According to the cards we track in Market Movers, in second place is Paul Skeens. But Ohtani, right Now, based on the cards we're tracking, sells four times as many cards as Paul Skeens. More than four times as many Ohtani cards sell as Paul Skeens cards. That's a massive gap between the number one player in baseball and the number two player in baseball. It's much smaller in other sports. In basketball, number one is Wemby. Number two is Cooper Flagg in terms of their sales the last 90 days. But that gap's a lot smaller in, in football, number one over the last 90 days has been Jackson Dart. Number two has been Cam Ward. But that gap is smaller. But in baseball, it's Ohtani and then a huge chasm of a gap. And then Paul Skenes and Ellie De La Cruz way on down. So my question to you guys, is this a sign that Ohtani is just, you know, the living goats and it's just he deserves this or is this actually a sign that the baseball market is maybe somewhat unhealthy right now? And this is what I'm concerned about, that it's become too top heavy, it's become too Ohtani dependent. And God forbid if Ohtani's performance falls off or if he gets injured that the entire baseball market could struggle along with it. Scott, I'm going to start with you on this one. Okay, here's my hot take. I think the gap between Ohtani and Skin should be wider than it is because he is an all time great. He is, in my opinion, going to go down if not the best baseball player ever. If you want to argue Barry Bonds was the better hitter, it's not even an argument he was the better pure hitter. If you want to argue Willie Mays was more well rounded outside of pitching because he was who he was, that's great. But you can't deny the fact what Ohtani is doing right now is the best we've seen ever maybe since the 1950s with Mickey Mantle. The reason I say that he's won back to back World Series, he's won back to back MVPs. He's about to win his fifth MVP. I know it's June and I feel pretty confident saying that, which is pretty insane to say. I think that gap should be larger. We also have the situation of these basketball players having a lot of sales right now. But that's because we had Tops Chrome Topps Chrome released in December of 2025. So if we're counting all of 2026, that's going to have that happen. And then Topps Chrome Football just came out. So there's a lot of excitement around these players. And so I think there's probably a little bit of artificial sales. That's the wrong way to say it. Just higher attention to those products with the hype machine that is sports cards. But I actually think Ohtani, with where he's at, is the modern goat. I think he is our Jordan. And we have not seen that basically since the 1950s with Maze and Mantle. To me, because if we look at the 1990s with Griffey, Ken Griffey Jr. Had that it factor. But past age 31, Ken Griffey was not very good when he played for Cincinnati. He also never won a champion. He never won a championship. And no, it's baseball. It's not as important. We have Ted Williams, we have Ken Griffey Jr. We have Barry Bonds, we have Ty Cobb, we have Ernie Banks. All these, like, top 10 to 15 guys who did not win a championship. But how nice is it that this guy does have these two championships and is a part of this dynasty? We have Jeter, who had the team success like Ohtani is having. But Jeter is not as good as an individual contributor as Ohtani was and was also with teammates like Alex Rodriguez, who is one of the best third basemen of all time, and Mariano Rivera, who's the best closer of all time. And so it's one of the situations where I actually think Ohtani's pricing and quantity of cards is completely justified. A few years ago, believe it or not, I was saying that Ohtani's cards were too hot and that I was not buying them. And my rationale was comparing him to, like, Mike Trout. Because when Mike Trout peaked in, like, 2021, his gold Bumakrum refractors were like, over 100K. And I remember saying, like, Ohtani's gold Bowman Chrome refractors are already 100k, so, like, we can't really be buying these cards right now. He's going to drop. But that's not how cards work. We talked about Wemby at the beginning, how Wemby is. He has level of attention. You watch him and, like, your eyes drawn to him. You said that. And that's exactly what Ohtani is doing. And he's having the success. So just because there's a different player, like a Trout who was like, in the previous peak, the guy everybody liked. Ohtani is much more than that in sports cards now and will be collected forever. The Japan aspect helps as well. So I think Scott makes a fair point about Ohtani standing. But is this unhealthy for the baseball card market. Teapot, Because God forbid Something happens to Mr. Ohtani. No, I think it's been very good for the baseball market, which has seen a really big uptick in the last couple of years. It's kept it, I would say, overall, very healthy. It's. You have a dynamic where you always have a top heavy, you know, situation. There's always one superstar who's dominating. You said it was Trout before. If you look at basketball, it was Jordan and Kobe and LeBron. And you've always got somebody who's kind of holding that torch from the hobbies perspective as the number one most sought after current active player at any given point in time. And Ohtani's really. He's taken that on and he's won championships. If we didn't have Ohtani right now, then it would be judge. And Judge has had a remarkable run and a remarkable career, but he hasn't won a World Series yet. So you're. I think that's a good thing overall. Now. I mean, you can get in the argument about what the Dodgers have done and dynasties and all that crap, but, I mean, baseball's very, very, very popular. It's kind of caught up in pot. It's gained a lot of popularity again or had a bit of a renaissance recently. And I think that has a lot to do with Ohtani. And if Ohtani were out of the picture, I think even just what he's done over the last, you know, two to three to five years would, like, carry into other players, whether It's Bobby Witt Jr. Whether it's any of these young players who are just really talented right now. But it's special. We. I think we're just. We're witnesses to greatness and just appreciate it. And I'm priced out of just about any Ohtani card that I could possibly want. But that's okay. You know, maybe at some point. Maybe at some point they'll come down, or maybe I'll just admire them from afar. I don't know. Admire Scott's, Ohtani's. I have a couple arguments for Ohtani. I do think for him right now, even if he gets hurt, I think he's done enough. Two MVPs in a row. Actually, he's four. Three MVPs in about 24th. And on top of that, the world. Two World Series in a row. I think if he gets hurt, he's done enough or he'll be okay. Like, if he starts to slow down in his career, I think he'll Be okay. A couple more years will obviously establish him as the goat versus like the most talented player which is probably where he's at now versus the true best player ever. But it's one of the situations where he's drug you kind of hit on this. He has drug Aaron Judge up in regards to values. Judge is a generational offensive talent. He is the closest thing we've seen to like prime Barry Bonds since Barry Bonds. So Taney's not gotten there offensively. Had the 50, 50 season but different type of offensive output than what Judge is doing with his like 220 OPS plus seasons. But either way Ohtani has drug him up. He has drug everything up in this entire category. So without Ohtani baseball wouldn't be as relevant. Neither would baseball cards in general. So everything about it I think is good. I am a Ohtani holder though. So take that to Grant. You look at those cards last night on or you know, I should say on Tuesday night you asked us on the the virtual, we did the what's the comp and Scott edged me on Ohtani's PSA 10 Bowman base rookie card. And that's a card that's just like the Wemby we saw. The chart almost looks identical from the last year. That card a year ago was $1500. Now it's at like 4 500. It would tickled 5000. So that's the type of card. It's iconic that I think the precedent or the thing you would look at would be like Tom Brady's career and what happened to his rookie cards and his Bowman chrome rookie card after he retired. It's going to come down like that's the more commodity cards. This one's got 5200 copies which and it's not a ton for like a player like him. Those ones I think will come down. His high end market I think is will never. I think it's. Yeah, that's my exact thoughts too. I don't think we've really seen like institutions come in and buy all those high end Ohtanis. Maybe we have. Maybe it's already started and that's why we're seeing these all time sales. But I think like Ty's mentioning, not every Ohtani is a good buy. Yeah, don't go out there and just buy an Ohtani for $200. It's an Ohtani. That's a terrible strategy. You have to have conviction and a rationale for why you're doing that. And if you get the right ones like Ty is saying I don't think they're going to drop. So it's all about being smart. Okay. All right. What do you think, Jeff? I want to hear your thoughts. Well, I mean, I think that the, I, I think that we need Ohtani to stay healthy and to continue to play well and win championships. That's what I think. Because I'm worried. I'm worried based on how much he has lifted and carried the baseball card market over the last few years. I'm worried about what the market would look like with Ohtani not there. I don't think we'd have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 people in our baseball card aisle right now. I know how many of them are looking for Otani? Probably a lot of them. Right? So they're looking for McGonagall. They're looking for McGonagall. There you go. There you go. So I, I, I, I agree on all the accolades about Otani. This guy's amazing. He's incredible. I want him to stay healthy. I want him to keep producing. I want his cards to continue to remain at healthy prices because I think that's good for the hobby overall. We'll leave it at that. I don't want the Dodgers. One more topic, One more topic. Fanatics. We got the World cup underway. You guys might have seen the World cup debut patches that are on certain players. Also, legacy patches are being worn by players who have appeared in five or more World Cups over the years. We also have patches for Golden Boot and Golden Glove winners. These are all on jerseys players are wearing in these World cup games. And apparently they are all slated to be preserved and theoretically go into soccer cards starting in 2031 when Fanatics takes over the FIFA license from Panini. Fanatics and FIFA will not provide any more clarity on what is going to happen with these patches right now. Because of course, fanatics doesn't yet have the license. So they're just lips zipped. My question to you, is this, is this good or is this whole, like, patch thing starting, you know, is this starting to get over, overdone a little bit? Now we're, we're doing patches five, five or six years before they even possibly appear in cards. What do you think, Teapot? This is this. I literally could never be overdone. In my opinion, this is exactly what we need and should expect for the price sticker on the boxes that people are paying to try to get into. This is what we want. We want game used and game dated and super iconic moments. That's why we collect cardboard. It's, it's a moment, it captures a moment. There's a lot of, there's art, there's all this fandom. But like at the end of the day, the more the card ties you and anchors you to a moment, to a season, to a, to an accomplishment, to a milestone. That's exactly why we love all this stuff out here. And so I'm thrilled to see them doing this. It's incredibly business smart because it's like an automatic money printer. You put a little thing on an NBA net and you take it off and now everybody's going to lose their mind for it. These World cup debut patches which somehow I missed. I did not know that until you just said that. And I just looked it up. They look sweet. Those are going to go in there. Erling Holland's going to have his first World cup debut patch and he just scored two goals in that first game. So there's a lot of really cool stuff going on right now. And the only thing I don't like about it is that it is very expensive. Like so maybe. I mean I don't think you can dilute this when you talk about tops. Somebody, somebody commented on one of our spitballing videos was this football and video. Somebody said like panini, Panini high end was way better. Yeah. And I'm like what are you talking about? National Treasures was trash. It's not worn by me. It's just a fake patch and a fake card. So this, this stuff's game used now you're, they're putting little stickers game date. Scott's highlighted the what did not on this day stuff from Dynasty and there's so many cool cards being made and I think if they keep making more of it with continuing to stratify the moments and the tiers, it, it actually puts a little compression on some of the stuff that would then be more lower end and not as expensive as if it was like the only thing that exists, if that makes sense. So I'm thrilled with this. I've really gravitated toward game dated game use stuff over the years and really cool looking patches and the, the more the better in my opinion. I think it's awesome you all in on this. Got to. The more the better. Oh yeah. I mean it's one of the situations where yes, if everybody has a special card, is that card special. But I think it is. Like obviously we saw the same thing with the Victor Abanyama Mercury boxes. We saw the ones that are from his rookie debut they kind of separated in price, but it's still nice to know that this game was tied to a February 14, I think is one of the patches. You can go back and watch that game. It makes it so fun. Topps Dynasty on this day, my personal favorite set of all time. It's been out since like 2016. In that particular set, they will take an image of the player from that game. They will get a patch from that game. They'll actually have the MLB authentication sticker. And on the back, they'll talk about his performance in that game. And so if, like Paul Goldschmidt, one of my favorite players, he had a home run against the Rockies. I'm a Rockies fan. I remember this game. It broke my heart. The Rockies always break my heart. But in that game, Paul Golch made a three on home run in the first inning. And so one of the biggest swings of his career. I own the one of one of that card. I can go back and watch that moment and say, that's where my card's from. And that's fun. All I know of seeing this, though, is 2031 Topps Dynasty is going to be a billion dollars a box. That's all I know. Oh, God, it is. God, it is. You're going to have that Holland debut patch. You're going to have a Yamal debut patch. You're going to have one of these messy legacy patches that he wore. Yes. I guess, when he got his hat trick. Yeah. In the opening. That's going in a trading card. I agree. Anyone out there who says this is being overdone and too much, that that's not what the hobby is going to say. When these cards actually appear in boxes and come up for sale in 2031, they're going to be the biggest chase cards out there. Everyone's going to be talking about it. All right.
