You know, you're replacing Trent. Trent is off doing orientation at his new job. That's his old job, but it doesn't make any sense to me. It's so annoying. I just. We had a podcast recording yesterday and he wasn't there for ours. And I was telling Coyde, I was like, he's at the same job. Okay. He's going from military to civilian, but he has to do the entire onboarding process as, like, as if he's a different person. And that would make me want to pull my hair out. Yu-Gi-Oh it's. It's so silly. He's like, I got to be there at 7am Mountain time, so he's not able to be here. But you're able to be here, which works fairly well because Trent is, you know, baseball guy and he likes football as well. But today is the start of the season where my Seahawks, for those of you that are watching and not just listening, I have on my beloved Russell Wilson jersey. I know Russell had some incredible highs and then kind of tanked off in his career, but I still love me some Russell Wilson. He has a hot soft spot in my heart, but got my Seahawks jersey on because the Seahawks play tonight against the New England Patriots. Nice little Zebra bowl rematch, but we're going to do a little bit of a NFL season preview today, talk some football. It's going to be a good time. I'm excited I saw a video of, of Russell Wilson posting with Sierra and like they're, you know, he's cheesy as a, as a guy really in the public Yu-Gi-Oh kind of cringy, but like they're dancing and having fun and then it pans over behind them and you just see a multimillion dollar mansion in the background. And it's like at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what he's still doing because he did enough to have what he needs to survive. So. And I, I still think that he's a fringe hall of Famer. Like, it's an interesting conversation. There's a debate of whether or not he's one of the few players who plays his way out of being. That's in the hall of Fame I was gonna make, but regardless has a Zebra bowl. Has one Zebra bowl that could have gone a little different, but we're not going to talk about that. Unlimited. Unlimited. I, he's, he's such a goofball. I, I like him. He is, I like him. He's, he's endearing. Right? Like in, in the James Winston sort of way. Like, it's sort of like, hey, as long as you're genuine, like, we're cool with who you are. But when that Marshawn Lloyd stuff came out and he was like, hey, I don't really mess with Russ like that, I was like, oh, a little bit of Russ beef. Like, I can feed on that. Cause there's really nothing ever bad said about him. I, I, I, I love his goofy style. I don't know. I, the, the fun story behind this Russell Wilson jersey, by the way, is that I one-of-one this for free off of a Reddit contest back in 2012. Yu-Gi-Oh There was a, you know, the, the reason and story why I'm a Seahawks fan is I was, I grew up in New England. Somebody's like, why are you not a Patriots fan? Patriots fans are annoying. Sorry. Whatever. The, the Tom Brady success got to their heads. But I kind of gave up on being a Patriots fan. Was just a more of a fan of the game for a while. And then I lived in Seattle for what happened to be Russell Wilson's rookie year. And the whole hype of him during the preseason and all this and that everybody was Zebra into it when the Seahawks drafted him. I called, I said, he's going to start week one. And all my friends said, no way. The hype of him doing well in the preseason. I think it was going into the third or fourth preseason. I think it was the fourth preseason game. Some dude on the Seahawks subreddit had a thing of like, whoever. If anybody can guess Russell Wilson's stat line. Exactly. For this game tonight, I will buy you a Russell Wilson jersey. And guess what? I did. I got it exactly right. That's crazy. Free jersey, which is pretty sweet. Certified ball knower is what you should have as your tag on social media. It's funny though, because people think of me understandably. Yes, they should, as a baseball guy. And don't get me wrong, I am a baseball guy. That being said, last night we were streaming over on Whatnot and I had a fantasy draft during the stream. So I told my league with my high school friends and I told them, hey, I'm gonna let chat draft for me. I'm gonna give him some options. I'm not just gonna let them go wild. I'm gonna say, here, here's three or four guys pick who we're drafting. And we, of course, given that, talked a lot of football during the stream. And at the end of it, they were like, alexander, you know football, Like, I thought you were a baseball guy. And I'm like, guys, I like baseball cards and I love baseball. I love football. I just don't love football cards. I know you are a big football card guy. Drake, give me, give me your cell. Your pitch on why I should do more football cards. Okay. Do you play, you play fantasy football, obviously, right? Yu-Gi-Oh Dynasty Keeper redraft. If you're playing dynasty, the. The answer is already right in front of you. My. My journey into football cards started with fantasy football. Like, I. I knew cards existed. I've always enjoyed football, I played football. I've always been into theater, and that's where my life was kind of centered around. And then. Okay, Zach Efron, Troy Bolton over here. Yu-Gi-Oh legitimately. It's funny, but, like, when I was in high school, I was in Footloose, the musical. I was also going into varsity football practices at the same time from 4 to 7, usually every day. So I would do the first hour and a half at football. I would run in my pads to musical rehearsal where I was playing Willard in Footloose, and then learn the choreo for the stuff while, like wearing like, one of my best friends was a theater and football guy as well. For the record. Yu-Gi-Oh it's, it's, you know, football there. I'm not going to say they're similar, but they called me Footloose because I get footwork. All that being said, fantasy football captured me during COVID in a way, I was driving around for my job, just like listening to the fantasy footballers, listening to Dynasty nerds. And I, that took over my day to day thinking, like, what player is going to pop off? I'm looking at like stat lines and stuff. Whenever I found football cards, I start, I was like picking up boxes as I was going around and I was like, oh, the, the markets are parallels. Like they're not exactly the same because there's value that you can find in fantasy drafts. And I don't think there's as much sleeper value that hides in football cards. But when I was like, okay, my, at that point, my favorite player was Nico Collins. And I'm, it's like, like 2022. He's a no name guy. I'm buying up Nico Collins cards left and right because I love him. And then he does really well on CJ Stroud's rookie year. And all of his cards shoot up five to six times because they were like $20 cards going for a hundred bucks. Now I was like, well, if my strategy, which was not working at the time for fantasy football, I was losing all the time. But I was like, if I can find a way to marry those strategies, then everything I'm spending time and energy on in one of these big facets of my life can help influence and sort of helped me strategize in the other. And then I found breaking, which added a whole other layer on top of that of like, okay, so I love sports, I love football, but entertainment is like my dream and where my heart goes whenever it comes to interacting with people. And breaking opened up that sort of like Beckett for me. But I don't watch basketball, I don't watch baseball, I don't watch golf. And that I might be unique in that sense of not having a massive repertoire of like sports that I consume, but because of that it had me solely focus on football. And that's sort of where I would say like 95% of my energy with collecting is around the football market and football cards because that's the media that I consume. And that's where I can feel the most empowered, I guess when making decisions. Yu-Gi-Oh I feel like my struggle on football, and I'm curious on your take here, has been a lot of the enjoyment of the hobby that a lot of people get is through opening packs. Get me wrong, you know, I, I preach buy the single. You know, if you want a specific card, if you're chasing a specific card, just buy the card. But part of the challenge, if you Open football and it goes for basketball as well. I feel like it's so top heavy in that football. You know, it's the top 10ish quarterbacks and that's really it who are relevant at all market wise. Yu-Gi-Oh you can get a situation where a wide receiver is crazy cheap, has a nice breakout season, Jackson's been jsn right. And you see a jump in their prices but they still pale in comparison to mid quarterbacks. And I feel like what I really appreciate and appreciate in baseball is how much depth there is in the market. I feel like there's a lot more market relevant guys because there are a lot of people who just collect and I know that there are collectors in the football market as well. I'm not saying that there are, but I feel like it's so football focused and football or football focused, so quarterback focused and quarterback centric that it makes it hard looking at other things or there's not enough depth to the market. It's just very top heavy in baseball. You could have made the same argument a while ago about pitchers and Paul Skeens, Jacob Mizarowski have, have kind of broken that mold and we've seen some really good market value. And just like actually caring about pitchers, do you see a world in which we are going to actually care about running backs or wide receivers, let alone, you know, defensive ends and centers and that man I, when you think about like that parallel to fantasy is where I come back to because it's what people care about when they think about football. Like most of my leagues have gotten rid of defenses and kickers. I'm not using them. Like they serve a role, they serve a purpose but like they don't help us have more fun doing what we're. Put some respect to Brandon Aubrey's name, the goat. Hyper I'm, I'm walking out. I have kickers in defense, I'm walking out with Jason Myers and I'm walking out with the Texans D. So I'm playing that game when it's meant to be played. But I think the problem with the football market is it's something like 75 to 80% of that, that equitable market cap that's moving the money moving through cards is focused on quarterbacks. But that's also the same with real life money. When you look at the salary caps of the, of the NFL and you look at how players are paid and you sort of trace that up the hill, it's like okay, your running backs are getting 12, 12 million dollars for you know, two year contracts. These wide receivers are now getting in that like 15 to 20 million dollars range. But quarterbacks are making the most money. That shows that the league cares about the quarterback and it doesn't mean that the league doesn't care about running backs and wide receivers. But I think we all understand watching the game of football that there's, you know, usually one person on the field who has control at any given moment at the beginning of a play, and that's the quarterback. What will change that, in my opinion, is these sort of like dynasty oriented organizations. When you can, when you can pair a receiver and a quarterback. And Burrow and Chase is the best example, although it hasn't really come to fruition in the way that I think we all want it to. But if, if you can find that parallel of age and success and they can ride together, that tie to the quarterback is what will increase the value of that, that tertiary like ancillary player. But I tell my customers all the time, like, you can go name the best running back in the NFL right now. Jameer Games. Name the second best. Bijan Robinson. And the third. Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey. All three of those guys, you can go buy RPAs for them for under like $300. Yep. And they're, they're really good. Like Gibbs is like really good. Maybe if he plays for eight to 10 years. We're talking like Barry Sanders type, like, like, you know, ideating on what could be. But jsn, even the rookie stuff, it just doesn't sell. I do think that has to play off the quarterback market. It can't. It's not just going to like arise out of nowhere and it's going to have to have some sort of tie to organization and dynasty. Kind of like with the big. You seeing Bears cards, they're going nuts right now for no real reason other than everything's timing up and syncing at the exact same time that the hype is following. I, I've seen the Bear stuff go nuts on. Over on Arena Club. I pulled out of a slab pack God probably a year ago at this point. A Caleb Williams just. Optic Red Pandora PSA 10. It's a nice card. Like it's. And at the time it wasn't crazy, crazy valuable. And I think that I get like two or three offers like a day in terms of trade or buy, etc, and I haven't taken it because I'm like, I'm not like Zebra My Arena Club stuff is more just like fun. I'm not trying to you know, turn it huge. You're trying to maximize every last inch of profit on others. Yu-Gi-Oh you gotta have somewhere in the hobby that you're having fun. And you know, I do that with Arena Club. So I'm like, you know, I, I have a soft spot for the Bears. I lived in Chicago for a few years. So like, do I want them to one-of-one No, because I want my Seahawks to one-of-one But my brother in law is a big Bears fan. My mother in law is a Bears fan. Like, they're a poverty franchise. It'd be nice to see them one-of-one something at some point. I live in Austin and like about five minutes before I hopped on the recording with you, I got a, an email push notification from Facebook that was like, you should join this group. And the group is Bears fans in Austin. And like they have, they're watching the game on Sunday and I didn't know about this, so I'm like, I'm late right now. I'm like, dude, oh, you got Bears fan at Austin. Let's go. Yu-Gi-Oh but I do think it's for, for lack of positional, like differentiality in football, like the difference between a quarterback and a receiver, that, that difference in, I guess control over the game is not the same as it is in other sports. Basketball, even with baseball, everyone has a chance to put their mark on the game at a given point. And that's not always the case with football. And so that the, the script of the game changes how we receive and how we view popularity of those players. No, it's. You are spot on. I just don't love it, like. And I, I don't love it either, man. I want, I want more money to be, I want to be able to, you know, buy Nico Collins cards and sell them for a premium. But we had this conversation yesterday and I'm curious from your perspective, like, million dollar sale on a, let's say these, we're going to talk about it, I think a little bit later, the NFL debut patch. But like, is there, is there any player in the NFL, current, past, present, in the future that you think is going to hit that million dollar mark with one of those, you know, debut patch sales? Because I don't, I don't ever see that being a thing. Unless we get a perennial talent coming in that's going to like, Mendoza is not going to hit a million dollars. I don't think. There's no way. I think Mendoza will. I mean, if Mendoza comes out and plays, you know, let's say he takes over week five, week Six and he comes out and he's absolutely incredible. You know, proven winner. He, he is a, he's kind of a goofy guy. Similar to a Russell Wilson. Yu-Gi-Oh I was gonna say similar personality wise, just kind of. But like I feel like back and I know that this is not fully encompassing of the market and what it is like today, but back in 2020, if we had that quarterback class with debut patches, Burrows debut patch would have done a million. It would have. Yu-Gi-Oh I think so too. Like Justin Herbert probably would have done a million. Here's, here's the problem with the rate like Mendoza separate from the general. Big question aside, Mendoza, like their schedule is really tough. If he starts at any point in the season, I think it'll, it one-of-one be till week eight because they play New England, Buffalo and the Rams week five, six and seven and they're not going to throw them in the. But after they play the jets, they play San Francisco, Seattle, then Denver. So if Mendoza doesn't play and we talked a little bit about this too, what did they do with that patch? Like let's say he doesn't play the whole season. He got an NFL debut patch. They're going to Release it in 27 no matter what. So they're not going to release it in 2026. They've said that. Really? Yu-Gi-Oh they said they're not going to release any of the premier patches until. Because theoretically like the season one-of-one be over and all of these players will have had a potential first game up until I guess December, something which would mean that they would, they wouldn't be able to produce the Cards till the next year. But if he doesn't play, do we just not get a debut patch? Well, I was going to pose the question of it's and this is a gripe that I have had because I've gotten some. One of the things that Topps does that I would. I'm hopeful to see more game use stuff out of football and basketball. Like Panini did not do any of that. Panini was the king of off the rack from Dick Sporting Goods with their jersey relics. But one thing that we have in baseball is we have jerseys where it's not just a game use jersey but it will tell you specifically from what game it's from and it'll say game war. And one of the gripes that I've had previously is I have pulled pitcher cards specifically and the pitcher didn't play. They didn't pitch that game. They wore it during a game that they were Just, you know, when the bullpen or on this, they were like waiting to maybe get put in, but they never actually went in. They never actually played. It's. But. But it technically legally was. Was in a game. It wasn't in a game that they played in. Yu-Gi-Oh but it was used in a game that they wore it at. And so my question is, are all of these rookies going to be wearing their debut patches week one and they just take it off of that? Do they have to wear a debut patch until they, like Mendoza? Is he going to be on the sideline for the first six or seven weeks of the season patch? I think. I think he will because on the, on the. I was looking it up last night because I was kind of trying to understand also the Bowman release happened yesterday and I was trying to look at some of the redemption stuff. But from what I understand, that patch will be on every player's uniform until they step on the field in real gameplay, game time. So if they're sitting on the sidelines, if they sub in for one play, that jersey cut out, that's it, it's done. So that was sort of lending to my question on Mendoza, like, if he's wearing it every day throughout the whole season but never plays in a game, to me, that patch still might have some, like, value and like, I'm sure collectors would want to get their hands on it, but it Goldin be a debut patch because he never actually debuted. So. Yu-Gi-Oh I know. Interesting conundrum. That's really interesting. And that to me actually makes, like, the forecast for 2027 wax, like, huge. Because the quarterback class next year is going to be much better than this year's quarterback class. The fact that you're getting that and the ability to chase those. Interesting. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm curious as well, like, what the release schedule is going to look like for football. Because it was like 2024, they did unlicensed Midnight and Inception, but we didn't get licensed versions of those in 25. Like, they skipped them and added in other products, which doesn't make sense to me. Like, if I'm trying to be efficient and I am, like, I'm going to reuse this thing that I used last year. That's what you should be doing. So I have no idea what they're going to put on the slate for 27 release, but I imagine we're not going to get any of those until it's going to have to at least be April of next year for the 27 product release. So Between December and April, that that's probably the target Zone for dropping Chrome 26, which would have those debut patches in them if the players played, I think. Interesting. So I'll be. I'll be curious to see what that's like. I am curious. You talking about different product lines with TOPS taking over the football license. I know that you, again, you're a football guy. I don't know how much familiarity you have with some of the previous, you know, or no, you know, TOPS ip, basically, that they do. Is there anything that has been a baseball card exclusive that we have not seen yet, football wise, that you are like, I would love to see that. GPK was the big one and it's. It's in Bowman. Yu-Gi-Oh it's in Bowman. So that I would like. Deep sigh of relief when I saw that checklist, I was like, oh, thank God this is for me. That was what I've been waiting on. Not knowing most of the IP of the baseball world being like, I see that card and I can only imagine a Caleb Williams version of it, a cj, like I'm doing in my head. Kind of like when you see a Downtown, what would my city look like? That's the one that I was the most excited for. But I did do a little bit of research on some baseball products before the show to. To see some and like, what's going to capture my Yu-Gi-Oh Because also when you're new to the hobby and you understand and sort of see like a product line for a whole years of release, you're like, there's 30 products in here. How do you know what's good, what's fun? So I was like, I'm just going to blindly look at them and like, what catches my Yu-Gi-Oh And then I went and looked at the price point of the box to figure out, like, oh, that makes sense why it's really pretty. But Allen and Ginter was. Was my first one that I wrote down before I knew of any of the other ones, simply because, like, the novelty of that set appeals to me as a person. Like, I think cool, weird, off the beaten path, like velociraptor tooth or, you know, whatever the random stuff they have in there. That's really fun. So I'd love to see a football version. And I know Alan McGinter's not a. It's not necessarily a baseball set, I don't think from what I've seen, although it has players in it and superstars and things like that. But it's a weird black and white, black and white looked really, really cool. I think it's a cool design that would look great with football, with how the imagery works. The other one was Stadium Club. I think photogenic. Kind of played to that job at it. Yu-Gi-Oh they did. Panini did a bad job at it. So I'd love to see the Stadium Club version of football and then gilded. Like, going to be stupid expensive. Oh my God, it's going to be expensive. And half. I would say most of the products that I looked at, not products that I would ever purchase as an individual looking to rip a box and return an roi. But that's the same for most of the hobby from a breaking perspective because it sort of diversifies the risk. I look at these boxes, I'm like, I could break that because everyone would want a gold card and we could find a way to make it make sense for everyone. But that kind of stuff is fun and a little bit different. Like, I'm kind of sick of seeing generic artsy designs, like resurgence kind of did this year. Like it's a design. Like it doesn't have any character. Like it's kind of lacking a story. It's lacking any novelty to it other than the fact that it's pretty. So more of that stuff because I think Topps does a great job of that with, with museum collection, with Tribute. Like some of those higher end products, they carry a story with the card. And like, we, we don't have that with football right now. We don't have, we don't have any sort of character when it comes to like what you're pulling. Pulling out. Yu-Gi-Oh Now I. My answer would have been cosmic, but we've got cosmic football. So we don't have to do that. And I know that we'll, I assume, continue to get that black and white high up on my list. Bob Ross would be Zebra cool. That would be cool. Replace the helmet with the Bob Ross Afro and the short prints and you know, it's. It's a Zebra popular set. I don't know whether or not we're gonna see it again for football, but that's the one that you didn't mention that I think is really cool. Did yearly for baseball. They did it. Or is it like a split cadence where they do it every other year or something? So far it's been every other year they had. They did it in 23 and in 25, I think it was. They skipped 24. I don't know why. And we'll see whether or not we get a 26 version of it so I don't know that though, like skip a year every now and then for some of these products because you don't need them every year. There's, there's so many products and that's one of the things that I'll be curious on as well is I feel like baseball has a lot of SKUs, whereas like basketball and football so far have not had as many. But I also know that Topps, you know, fairly recently took over the license and that then is, you know, they're trying to get things in quickly. I'm curious what a like normal full year of releases looks like which we're going to be seeing here shortly for football and for basketball. So I think it's, it is going to be fun. Something that is fun that we are doing is the SCN Challenge. I know that you're vaguely familiar with it. In case the audience is not familiar with it. A bunch of the different creators on the sports cards nonsense media network are basically doing what is a fantasy league. But instead of drafting players, we are drafting cards. And you have a portfolio of five cards. It cannot exceed a thousand dollars in terms of where you are started. If you have a card blow up and you can trade that for something bigger and better than great, that's fine. You can go above a thousand. Obviously you want to go above a thousand. But starting off Your Fleer is $950. Your ceiling is $1,000 in terms of total market value. You have five moves that you can make during the season. So you can say hey, I got a Jordan Love card and his market absolutely exploded and I'm going to flip this card for something bigger that maybe I view as safer or has more upside, etc. I am curious Drake, on your perspective on my picks for the SCN Challenge. I'm curious the move, the move that you're allowed to make is that constituted in like selling one of them and buying another card is the move not just selling or correct? I think you have to. Yu-Gi-Oh you basically are. I think essentially it's viewed as one in, one out. Yu-Gi-Oh exactly. So you say I'm going to take this card and I'm going to swap it for that. Okay. Yu-Gi-Oh man. I'm looking at your, your list first of all Bonix. Yu-Gi-Oh So bonus XRC PSA 9 my. Thank my thinking there XRC is that for. Is the, the first rookie card that the player gets for every year. Very much so significantly lower population than say your Prizm Silver or things like that and it's a lot cheaper Than you know, a Prizm silver. So Bonix XRC PSA 9. What do you think? Also I'm buying PSA nines all day right now. Like I'm buying if I can get my hands on a PSA 9 and I have and I'm all day because the cost of grading's gone up for most people and with regards to psa. So I'm all about that. You also have a Herbert. God this card blue scope PSA 10 from Optic. I love I the blue scope is one of my favorite cards of all time. The color match for the Chargers, it just looks so nice. I made a trade in 2023. I traded away, I traded away one of those PSA 10 blue scope Herbert PSA 10 blue scope Jordan Love PSA 10 or maybe a PSA 9. Joe. Like I had the 2020 class on blue scopes. Traded all of them in for a raw CJ Stroud micro Mosaic rookie in the 2023 National. I missed that card. You have a JARED GOFF OPTICAL PSA 10. I'm going to say that I'm going to stake my claim here. Optic is going to be the brand I think for Panini that actually holds long term value. I'm not going to say more than Prizm but I do think from a card structure standpoint, aesthetic standpoint, it mirrors the chrome tops sort of like layout in a way that says this is the premier rookie card in a way that Prizm I think will lose some of that hype over time as they're not making and it has the down down it has, it has the, the chase that is accessible to people. My thinking too and I'm curious if we can talk a little bit more about season preview in a second here. The Lions have one of the easiest schedules in the league this year. If you look at, you know, their strength of schedule coming into the season. One of if not the easiest schedules coming in. Jared Goff has been a top 10 fantasy quarterback for the last three or four years. He puts up big numbers. That offense is obviously going to fly with Jameer Gibbs, Sam Laporta, Jameson Williams of course my guy, the sun God of Monroe. I I'm not staking my claim in this but I'm saying if, if you were to tell me that Jared Goff is in MVP conversations Week 10 11, if the Lions are 9 and 1, I would not be shocked. That's where my plays you have. They're the plays you have to make to make to make money. Really like great card. I think that your thinking and Logic behind that is perfect because if you did the same logic with Matt Stafford the year before, say hey, he's got Puka Nakua, Devonte Adams, Kyron Williams. The pieces are there. He's never done it before. Can he. Would he be able to? Yes. The answer is the right timing, the right situation. If you can get these guys early. If golf were to were to enter the race going into like week six or seven, you're able to flip that card I think for double what you what you bought it for. So yep. So. Yu-Gi-Oh Which is my thinking right now because I think he we'll talk about maybe our picks. I think like any player that's fallen from graces like that, that had a lot of the equity like kind of forced into them and then people are like panic selling for the last two to three years and then panic buying because he's healthy and panic selling him aside like that class aside, he's the one I think that will be able to do it. And PSA Prizm silvers, they ride that same train on, they ride the same hype train, right. Like the raw cards go up, so do the 10, so do the 9. So if you can find something like that at a reasonable cost. I love this. The PSA 9 borough is like I thought the 9, the guys that you know can one-of-one a Zebra bowl and get, get the best card you can for them at a good value and if he, if he gets hurt obviously you're going to lose value on it. But I think it's low enough that it's not Going, I don't know that you will, though. That's what I was going to say. Burrow has gotten to a point where if he gets hurt, his, his market hasn't reacted to him being healthy. It's still down. So if he gets hurt, I think people are just like more of the same man. And then they just kind of leave it, leave it off to the side. But I bought a Burrow orange field level Select. You know, die cut non numbered retail parallel. I pulled it back in the day. It was 450 bucks in a PSA 10 like last year. I bought it for 225. So what has he done, you know, between the last 12 months that would warrant a half of a, you know, price deficiency? Yu-Gi-Oh I debated buying some select stuff, but I feel like select has fallen into a distant third in terms of market perception behind Prizm and Optic. Optic, Yu-Gi-Oh like, very distant third. I think the retail releases of select have heard it a little bit in terms of its perceived value. So I didn't grab it. There were a lot of guys in the league that did buy some select stuff, but for me, I was like, I'm going to stick my claim. You got an xrc. So you, you got like the xrc. Cream of it is the cream of the crop of like select. Because it has a story. Like, exactly what you said about it is why, what makes it important? It's the first card that a rookie has made for them in their professional uniforms. And then my last card. The rule of the challenge is you can have one card of a retired player. So I, after making those first four picks, I knew that I could have a retired player. And I had $113 left. I Beckett a Peyton Manning 2007 Topps Chrome White Refractor in a PSA9 that's numbered 869. Peyton's. Is that his rookie season? No, Peyton's 99. You're way off there. But you know what it is? He one-of-one the Zebra bowl that year. That's what it is. Okay, so Peyton's market has really started to see some of that uptick in the same way that we've kind of seen Shaq and some of those, you know, we saw the Griffey and the Jordan spike happen. Shaq, Barry Bonds, we're seeing some of those guys that are kind of the, the second and thirds end up getting some of these market boosts right now. And Peyton, we've started to really seriously see that. I saw the white, the, the white Refractor. It's A color match for the jersey that he's got on. It's fully licensed. Tops. Topps Chrome 07 was a great design. I figured it was a decent one to take a shot on. I can see it with it being low numbered. You know, you get one or two high sales and all of a sudden it's a 300. Yu-Gi-Oh I think top any of the old TOPS license stuff, like as the public, I guess that window of like acceptance moves were like, hey, people are now like, I love Tops. Tops is awesome. It's all license cool. Three, four or five years down the road. I think people, they're not going to forget, but there's going to be this sort of element of like, it's always been like this. Right. And I think some of those older license stuff we'll. The increase along with the modern license stuff. This is a great list, man. I think you, you Beckett out some awesome cards. I love these ranges of cards because in my experience, and I don't do a ton of singles selling and buying, but I've made the most money in the hobby buying in that hundred to 200 range and then waiting for opportunity to flip in that 3 to 400 range if it, if it works out in your favor. So it's a great list. I think all four of those quarterbacks that are active in the league could be, could be MVP candidates. They could all also take their teams, you know, deep into the playoffs. So now let's critique Trent's list real quick. Yu-Gi-Oh let's do it. Okay, cool. I'm picking it up. Trent doesn't know jack squat. First one, I think. Okay, all right, well, I'm gonna say Caleb Williams, Topps Chrome X fractor, PSA 10 unlicensed. Oh, for 232. I'm not. I don't love the base or the generic parallel. I bought a Sepia of his in the PSA 10 unlicensed. That's my, that was my like play in that range. But I think it doesn't really matter because I think if this player does well, his cards will go up. And I don't think people care as much about the license or unlicenses as everyone seems to make you want to believe they do on Facebook. My problem is that I feel like a lot of Caleb's upside right now is already priced into his market 100%. And that's where I look at that and I say, okay, it could end up working out amazingly for Trent and you know, he very well might be. I'm gonna loop three of his next four cards together both in terms of efficiency but also in an interesting approach and I'm curious, I have a pretty strong opinion here. He took Tyler Shuck, Kyler Murray and Bijan Robinson all Prizm Silver PSA9 rookie autos. So Tyler Shuck is a 207 card, Kyler Murray is a $248 card and Bijan is $168. So he took three silver Prizm rookie auto PSA nines. I like it for the quarterbacks. I don't touch, I don't touch Prizm autos for non quarterbacks because they don't hold anywhere near the same value. But Bijan is that dude. So what's the, what's the number one card across? You know, if you ask someone like what's, what's the top card in football? There's a prison, prison Prizm if, even if they don't know anything about it. So if I'm someone who's looking to flip cards and I want to make money on the success of a player, I'm going to go to the thing that's most recognizable, most easily recognizable on any table anywhere and that's going to be Prizm So I think price wise, 200 bucks for a Tyler Shuck Prizm Silver Auto, like that's a $600 card if they do well, same with Kyla Murray that goes from 250 to $450. The change on Bijan is not going to be. I don't think that there's much room for growth there because of how running backs work. But Josh Allen Rookie PSA 9 that's everyone wants the rookie logo so I think if it's got a rookie logo then but I feel like, and I'm, I'm, I'm here to critique Trent and we'll let him defend himself. I wanted to, but then I saw his list and it actually kind of impressed me. So I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing with training Trent on the yes. My problem on the Silvers is that I do feel like Prizm is not known for the autos. Like I don't feel like you go to Prizm for the autos because they're all sticker autos and I feel like people tend to just not have much of as much of a like draw to them in the same way that like Prizm color will outsell sometimes the auto of that same color because people just say I'd rather just have the, the true color and you know, not a sticker auto. Not saying that I agree with that Mentality But I do think the market, to some extent the market shows that. Yu-Gi-Oh So that's where I was like what I have taken three Silver Prizm autos. I might have tried to get an optic or something like that in there. And then Josh Allen I think is a fantastic pick from obviously just like a fantastic player. But base card, it's a base card. And again, what does Josh Allen have to do to see that card gain 50 value? He has to make it to the Zebra Bowl. Really like that's it. That's. That's what has to happen. That's the. And I have no problem with picking some cards that, you know, you say you're making a longer term play on. I'm going to say I'm, I'm betting on this card and I'm hoping that by holding it for the length of the season, I only get five moves. So I can only move so many things. You know, I'm not, not everything needs to be a quick flip, but I feel like the, the upside in that card is so far out and relying on a lot of things. We'll see what happens. That's all I got to say. So I'll say this. The way that Trent built, he's got Caleb, Tyler Schuck, Josh Allen, Kyler, Murray, Bijan. To me, Caleb and Allen are the long term Zebra bowl plays that go, you know, 10x Shuck and Kyler are cheap buys where any remedial amount of success increases the value of those cards because they're flip it and let it go. Yu-Gi-Oh So I think he did a good job balancing like the portfolio from that aspect. May not agree on the players necessarily, but like if he doesn't need Kyler, Murray and Tyler Schuck to one-of-one Zebra Bowls for those cards to gain value, he just needs them to have a few games because they're cheap cards at where they're at currently. I think relative to where those cards for Kyler specifically, you can go trace back some crazy sales for Kyler and it's all tied to, you know, I guess, relative outlook on team success. And now that he's in Minnesota and he's the starter, all you need is a little bit of match underneath the kindling to get the fire going and then that stuff starts to pop. Nine's coming for him. JJ's gonna take that job. Dude. I was a big McCarthy believer. I took him, I think fifth overall in my Dynasty league and really held on. And I am just not about it. I don't think, I don't, not Believe still, if I'm being perfectly honest, I feel like he's gotten a little bit of the short end of the stick. If you look at some of the stats that he had last year. Don't get me wrong, there were. He had some terrible games. I'm. There's no sugar coating that. But he also had some games where he played really, really well. He's dealt with a lot of injuries, has not had a lot of consistency. I'm not saying he's going to be great, but I've. I said this on stream before. I'm also not saying if in a year or two he has a Sam Darnold type. Yu-Gi-Oh Baker, Sam Darnold, one of those situation. I wouldn't be shocked. That's all I have to put it. Yu-Gi-Oh I think it's. It's crazy, people. The football market is so weird because like average time that a player's active and important in the league is like 2.7 years if you all across all positions. So like these guys, you think back, like, who has the shortest leash? It's probably that quarterback Will Levis, Kenny Beckett Bryce was at the point where he was kind of on his way out the door. But like any of those guys, if they don't really make an impact, they're. They just have to usually find an opportunity elsewhere. And it's finding the best, best opportunity, which Kyler did, I think, like, he's like, I'm going to go to Minnesota and work it out and even if it's garbage this year and they decide to stick with him another year, that's another year to build on whatever this was, which excites the fan base. Sepia. Oh, absolutely. Now let's talk predictions. We're going to talk awards as well as then who we think is going to go all the way. What's your Zebra bowl matchup? So mvp. Who's your MVP this season? Both. If you want to give me a realistic pick in a sleeper, I'm also okay with that. Okay. Yu-Gi-Oh I mean it's Caleb Williams, but that's the. That's the shill pick, I think inside me, the bear barking out from within. It's Caleb, I think. Or it's Burrow. It's like someone in the afc. It's. I can't ever figure out Burrow, Herbert Allen. Like those three are the guys that can one-of-one it, in my opinion. And Lamar is there too. But I don't think the Ravens have what it takes to do it. I also don't. People are Going to hate me for this. I don't think the Bills have what it takes to do it. I think Josh Allen had a chance last year, fell flat on his face, Goldin figure it out. Oh, he got a receiver. Yu-Gi-Oh he got. He got D.J. moore, who's like, barely a receiver. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm going Caleb. Really, though, like, I think that public attention is also a part of the mvp. Absolutely. Like, it was for Drake, maybe it was for Matt Stafford, and I don't understand why it wouldn't be for Caleb. The only way it doesn't become a point of conversation is if they suck. And I don't think they're going to suck. So I think they're going to do well. I think they're going to one-of-one some games. They have the hardest schedule out of every team in the NFL, which is not good. But that means that if they do see success, it's going to be compounded excitement. It's like, oh, we're doing well and we have the best schedule versus last year. It was like, Drake, May's doing incredible, but they're playing the worst teams in the NFL, so does it really count? It would compound in the opposite way. If Caleb were to do well in the first few games, I think that would take him really quickly into MVP conversation. Yu-Gi-Oh I can see that. I think that my pick would probably be Burrow, but my sleeper, as I said, is I think a Jared Goff. I think that the. If you were to tell me that he throws for four, 800 yards and 45 touchdowns, I'd say, okay, I can see it. Yu-Gi-Oh Like, I'm not expecting it, but if he puts up, it's possible. Nutty numbers. Like, it's possible. I think they shifted play calling towards the end of the year last year, once Campbell took over play calling, things looked very different for that offense, which is where rinse, wash, repeat that. Like, take that and like, let's direct to the vein this year for every Lions game. Like, let's get that going. Because if that's the case, then there's. The parallels between him and Stafford are so funny too, because of the training, but it's like there's nothing that's stopping him from doing what Stafford did last year. I don't think, other than pace of play or some of the random things that happen with their games. But, like, if everyone's healthy, golf could absolutely do it. Yep. Offensive player of the year, Jamar Chase. Interesting. I teetered around for a little bit and I was like, the only way that A no running back's going to one-of-one it, I don't think. Because I don't think we have anybody. Unless it was Gibbs. It would, it would be Gibbs. I think who did. I think quarterback, I don't think is going to one-of-one this position because whoever it is will probably edge out to be mvp. So I got left with like one of my wide receivers can one-of-one this Offensive player of the year literally is an award of who is the most valuable non quarterback. Yes, yes. And it's, it's Jamar Chase. Like if he's healthy, if, if the things happen that are supposed to happen logically, the, the Bengals should be unstoppable. And I did the work on those two guys together just to figure out like why I thought it would be Jamar Chase. When they play together, Burrow 278 yards per game and like 2.3 touchdowns. So like right above two touchdowns when they play healthy, full game sets Together Jamar Chase 10 targets, 7 catches, 90 yards and like almost a half a touchdown point, which was a little bit of a variance. But like if you run that through a, you know, 17, 18 game sample, like that starts to get 1500, 1600 yards and like 12 to 15 touchdowns. That's, that's offensive player of the year category in my opinion. I can see it. I don't. My, my gut, my mind goes to. I feel like everything points to Jameer Gibbs just having a crazy season with Pacheco hurt and not really like, let's be honest, the other running backs in that room. I'm sorry, Sailors. The, the, the dynasty community loves trying to find that like, value. Oh my God. Sailors is gonna get goal line carries. No, he's not. Jameer, you think they're gonna take the ball from the best player in the NFL, like the best running back in the NFL and give it to some random dude, Jameer Gibbs, with no David Montgomery there. I think the only thing that will stop Jameer Gibbs from winning offensive player of the Year is injuries, whether it be to him or his line. Like, I think that. I think it's going to be crazy. It's so it's. We can all agree it's one of those top guys at your fantasy draft, right? It's going to most likely be jsn, Puka, Bijan, Gibbs, Chase, some combination of those dudes. And if you want maybe wide receivers, you could also go the DeVonta, Smith Lad, McConkey type route. Those guys who people are looking at as maybe the JSN type breakouts, but. Or Even honestly, I don't think any of those guys can one-of-one offensive player of the year without their quarterback having extreme success. Right. Like unless they're running back. Like if lad were to one-of-one offensive player of the Year, Herbert must have probably winning. Absolutely nuclear. Yu-Gi-Oh So I think that's your point about Luther Burden stays true though, right? If, if Caleb were to have a season that warrants mvp, that would mean that the, the points have to flow somewhere. The, the targets go to some player. But also look at JSN last year. It's not like Darnold put together a MVP level season and JSN was insane. So it's not impossible. They did one-of-one the Zebra bowl though, so yes, that is very fair. Their team was very good. Yes. Defensive player of the year, Will Anderson Jr. I actually think that that is probably the correct pick. I think a lot of people look at, you know, Miles Garrett going in and playing with Aaron Donald and Matt Rams defense is going to be crazy. But I also think that maybe there's enough talent there that it will hurt some of those, like counting stats. I think that was my exact point. Yep. Will Anderson, I think that he'll put up some of those big numbers. So I think we're on the same page there. Offensive rookie of the Year. Gross, man. It's not good. Listen, this class is not the Stahl hort that last year's class was for 25 and even then 24 was, was outperformed both of them. I had a hard time picking a player for this. But if it's. It's Jordan Tyson would have been my pick probably three weeks ago with the alignment of the Saints offense and shuck kind of popping off. So de facto I, after I crossed Jordan Tyson off, I was like, it's not going to be Jeremiah Love. It's not. Sorry to everybody. He's going to be in a timeshare. They listed Tyler Algiers, the RB one, I think yesterday on their depth chart. That is, it's. That is absolutely coach speak. You know, giving the nod of the cap to a vet, to the veteran. To the veteran that isn't an incumbent on the team. They just traded for this dude. Like he doesn't know anybody in the organization. He's not like their guy. They didn't pick him. This is the Jeremiah Love you gotta earn RB1. I, I don't think, I don't know that I'm picking Love as my offensive rookie of the year. That being said, I do have Jeremiah Love in my Dynasty league. Okay, so you're Riding it. Yu-Gi-Oh I don't have any shares. I think you look at how he ran in that one preseason game and I know it's a preseason game. He looks like Adrian Peterson. I test. Yu-Gi-Oh passed. He passes the Yu-Gi-Oh test and then some. Everybody I see like, what team does he play for? The Cardinals. You, you say that, you say that and I, it's, it, it's a very, very fair critique. But here's what I'm going to say. You had plenty of very relevant running backs put up big numbers on bad Cardinals teams. Look at David Johnson, James Connor. James Connor put up some great seasons. I, I don't think that being on a bad team means that you therefore are just absolutely. People, I think are scarred off of what Ashton Genti season looked like last year. And in all reality, genti was not 10. He was not that bad. He was good. Yu-Gi-Oh But people looked at that and said, oh my goodness, the Raiders are so bad. He, you know, I, I'm not picking Jeremiah Love, but he's probably my second pick because I do think the talent is undoubtedly there. And I do also think if you want to play the game of, oh, the Cardinals stink, you know what he's going to be great at. And he, we know he's great at, he's a great pass catching back. He can catch balls out of the backfield and when he has the ball in his hand, he is able to make things happen. And so believe all of that. Alex, the problem is it's not to me, in my mind, it's not just that the Cardinals stink, it's that I have a lack of trust in the organization to make the right decisions that would warrant common sense decision making in that, in these scenarios, right poverty franchise, it's like, hey, the Browns do similar stuff. Like this whole desean thing is like if everyone in the room is telling you that this is a bad idea, but you still think it's the right idea. Granted, there's a lot of other decisions that are being made for different reasons, but with the Cardinals it's like, why are we having this massive contract battle with Brissette leading up to training camp? Like, why are we not prioritizing our rookie running back in these preseason games that we drafted with high draft capital to get him as much work as possible and get him acclimated to the team level of standard that we expect? None of that stuff happened in a way that made me have any confidence that the organization is as intent on using him to the Velocity capacity immediately. Maybe it's a ramp. But if that's the case then I think we we don't see that season stat line that represents offensive player of the year. If they are going to ramp him into three four he's starting by week five. You know I don't think he's starting week one. I think he's legitimately going to split these touches with Algier like through and coming back from the high ankle sprain. I'll I probably week one, week two there probably will slightly ease him in. You know what actually gives me the greatest level of confidence on Jeremiah? Like we, we did the fantasy draft last night and everybody in my league agreed or in my chat agreed with me in that after the draft ESPN sends out your grades. You want to know my grade was a D minus and I said I'm feeling good if ESPN likes my draft. Yu-Gi-Oh I'm worried wrong. Something is wrong. If ESPN says oh no you didn't do it. That means that I went against their consensus rankings and actually drafted what probably is the better team. And you know, it was a Zebra flex league. I took round one and round two. Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow. Like I think that's a pretty good start. That grade is not actually telling you how good your team is. It's telling you how well you drafted against the bot version of yourself. That would have went with adp, right? It's like D minus because you didn't follow the rules. But in reality that's how you one-of-one That's how you one-of-one championships is by kind of yicking when everyone else is yum. But in the same way I feel like everybody, if you look online Consensus wise is very down on Jeremiah Love. And I, I feel like if we get to week 10 of the season and you say he's a top five running back in the league, I wouldn't be shocked. He's not my pick. I think more realistically my pick is probably Carnell Tate. Just in terms of de facto problem with that equation is that Cam Ord is throwing him the football. So then I was like, Yu-Gi-Oh but the Titans thinking they're gonna be throwing the ball. So I, I think it's gonna be so much, it's so much target like it's the Tele McMillan story from last year. Right. Bryce was not, he did better. He was not game changing elite. But he just force fed him the ball in a way that said like this guy can handle it. It's a volume game. That's, that's, that's the bet. And then comeback player of the year. I can tell you one guy that it's not going to be and that's desean Watson. Yu-Gi-Oh no, it's not going to be him. In fact I'd be happy if he just went away player of the year forever. Yes. I think it's Malik Neighbors. I think there's so much like media talk about his attitude and what's going on with how he's addressing his injury currently. I think if he starts slow that's fine but come in week three or four he, if that offense with Harbaugh is rolling like they say it's going to, if Scott's healthy, if Dart's rocking like what a way to fit slot right back into where you fell out of it last year. Have a great season. Let's say they don't make the playoffs. I still think if he puts up like a respectable stat line that would his name and his image carry enough. I think understanding from the general, like people who watch sports wouldn't know Malik neighbors, the IHOP commercial, things like that, where he could, he could capture that. I think it was Burrows one-of-one it like twice which is hilarious because he hasn't really done anything with it. But like the list of players that have one-of-one is like hey, did you have a bad injury the year before? Did you come back and put up like a respectable or an elite stat line? Because I think CMC one-of-one it last year and did very much that. So it would have to be neighbors to me because I Goldin really figure out anybody else from an injury standpoint or with like maybe Stetson Bennett. If something were to happen to Stafford and he were to come out and like light it up. But that's like so far off. I didn't think it was realistic. I think I'm going with my guy. Danny Dimes, Achilles injury. You know, he was in the running for MVP last year. Like, people forget that. That's my point. It's. And coming back from that injury is not an easy thing to do. But if he comes back, that offense, you know, I really. Alec Pierce, I think is an incredibly underrated wide receiver. I think that he's going to play really well this season. You got Daniel Jones, you got Jonathan Taylor, you've got Alex. Josh Downs. Josh Downs, Tyler Warren. You have talent on that team. It's a fairly easy division. At the end of the day, I think I would not be shocked to see him come out and put up a top 7 MVP voting type season which I think would one-of-one him comeback player of the year. I don't think it's going to be Mahomes. Brandon, what's up? Come on. It's going to be Mahomes. No, it's not. Yes, it is. What are we even talking about? Mahomes is basically minus money to be the favorite right now. It's going to be him or it's going to be Jaden Daniels. Let me tell you who it's not going to be. Who is one of the four favorites on your app of choice? Aaron Donald. Because he's not eligible, you can't be unretired, come back and then one-of-one the award. They changed that after Flacco and he is one of the betting favorites to one-of-one the award. It's not going to be him. Free money for the books. Yu-Gi-Oh I know. I mean, this is outrageous. The fact that he is on there even though he's not eligible. I can't believe that they're allowed to do this. My reasoning on why I don't think it's going to be Mahomes is that I think Mahomes got hurt late enough in the season last year that I don't feel like the general public's perception on him coming back is going to be there. I know that he is, but my feeling there is that there's not as much of that. Like, my goodness, he was so good then his team was so bad and now he's back and his team is so good again. That's where I don't think Mahomes will one-of-one it. I could see it being Jaden Daniels, but I think that Jaden Daniels is line that. That that offensive line is bad and I worry about injuries. I worry about I have him as my quarterback in my Dynasty league. I also do have Daniel Jones and Trevor Lawrence. So just putting that out there. You're safe. You're safe. You feel real good. About a year ago, though. About a year and a half ago, you're feeling real good. But I don't know. I don't think Jaden Daniels will do it. So Danny Dimes, for the record, neighbors and dimes have the same odds plus 1400. Really? Okay, that's. That's awesome. Then we're both. We're both on point then I guess with our takes, we are Mahomes, the Chiefs, like, I cannot tell you a player that they have made a move for in the last three to four years that makes the team better, like legitimately. And I think that you're right. You're right, Kenneth Walker. But I'm thinking more from a receiving core standpoint, like help Mahomes. I think Kenneth does help Mahomes in some ways. But like, I'm just looking at Travis Kelsey who's like, you know, bone on bone, no cartilage left. It's fallen off. Like everyone else on that team is. Is a gadget style player or like a. And it's worked for them in the past or in prison or she Rice or. Exactly. Or make bad personal decisions or as an idiot. The. I don't think that as time goes on and your quarterback gets hurt and father time takes its toll. I don't think that Mahomes gets intrinsically better at performing in those Zebra tight window scenarios without the help of the organization bringing him some pieces to help. And I think we're going to see it this year. I think like in the past they've been able to kind of get away with it, but I think this year we're going to see that. Oh my God. They have to get him some legitimate weapons because running with a peanut gallery wide receiver class is not going to work when you have to outperform teams that are doing things like the Bills did. And adding DJ Moore, which on paper may not seem like a massive move, but to Josh Allen, I think DJ Moore is a lot better than people give him credit for. I know you as a Bear fan have some feelings about him and I do not like his attitude. He's not Amon Ra. He's not Tyreek at his prime. He's out of his prime. He's. He's Stefan Diggs. He's those Topps of guys. Terry McLaurin. But it's going to be a major help to Josh Allen when he's looking for someone to throw the ball to and there's a guy that he knows and can throw the ball to and I, I just don't see that that's going to be the case with the Chiefs. Yu-Gi-Oh I, I, I agree with you. Brendan clearly doesn't. But that's fine because Brendan is not a host of this podcast. He's a producer. I'd put 100 on Aaron Donald one-of-one comeback player of the year, brother. I'm riding that till the end of the day. That is really funny though. I did not know that he quite literally is not eligible yet. They are taking bets that that truly seems criminal. Yu-Gi-Oh another football nil spot in a break that doesn't have any college players. That is true actually to that point. As a breaker, what is your take on tops approach for Bowman football? I think the success of the football market is dependent on the marriage of those two markets communities. Like there has to be more through line between collegiate and NFL to make it make sense for people to give a crap about college because right now they're separated and they were always separated with Panini until this last year now where I don't watch college ball. I went to Texas State. Our team was awful. I think we just finally got into a better conference. But like I don't have the time or energy to watch college football. My wife would probably divorce me if I had another passion on top of the NFL. Do you want to hear a great take on college football? Give it to me. I texted this yesterday. I saw this. The NFL is like pizza. Good pizza is really good. And bad pizza still, you know, pretty okay. College football is like seafood. Good seafood can change your life and bad seafood will ruin your life. Ruin it. That's a great analogy because I've seen what people like about college football. It's, it's the in between stuff that I that doesn't hold my attention. Most people want. The argument has always been like, do you want a card of a player when they're like growing up or when they're at their prime, like at the biggest league and the biggest stage in the world. Blending those together in a product is awesome because I think it brings the fandoms together in a way that helps celebrate lineage and history and sort of that theme I was talking about earlier. Does the card have a character? Does it have a story behind it that people can connect with? They're doing that in Bowman. I love it. I hate it as a breaker because it's going to take a lot more challenging time to figure out who goes where. At the same time, I'm thinking after discussing it with my co workers with Trent and Kuait that it'll diversify our ability to maybe price some of this stuff differently and spread out some of the cost of some of the bigger teams with some of the conferences in the collegiate world. So more work for me as a breaker to break that product. It's tough to find. Obviously I didn't, I didn't personally one-of-one on pre orders yesterday, but as an organization we're trying to like make sure we have it to break. It's going to be a fun product. It's going to be, you know, a lot of me personally pulling players I don't know on teams I'm not familiar with. And that's what I, that's why I don't RIP in NBA and MLB is because nobody wants to see a guy pull a card he doesn't know anything about or the player. That's my fear. I think we'll get there and I'm excited to educate myself and understand a little bit more about the collegiate world and what's, you know, the story behind some of the rivalries and people's fandom like it's everywhere. I don't really pay attention to it because I don't have to, but it's forcing me to which. Which I'm, you know, appreciative of to a degree because it's going to make me a better breaker. Yu-Gi-Oh I think that my hope with Bowman and I think that there's a line to walk and figure out here is in ripping a little bit of Bowman basketball, I felt like it was a little too wide of a net in terms of the college side of things and not enough of the NBA side of things. I think that what Tops needs to do is make sure that they are balanced with checklists both in terms of the amount of pro players versus college players as well as who the college players are. To your point of not knowing these guys, it's not to say that you can't take some guys that are from a smaller school that are really talented that maybe have some of that upside. What I think will hurt the product is if you get the. Where did you say you went to college? West Texas State. Texas State. Texas State University is if you get the, you know, right guard from Texas State University if it's Contenders or like another like just prospect driven product that is like pan out if there's. If I'm going to pull a college guy, if I'm going to pull a college auto, a numbered college player, et cetera, I want there to be upside and potential for market relevance. And that's where I think that, like Topps, his goal by doing this is they want there to be prospecting in basketball and football in the way that there is in baseball. And that prospecting is on the college side. Yep. If anything, it actually will probably be better prospecting because more people pay attention to college sports then pay attention to minor league baseball. But I think if you want to hook people in, you need that checklist to be really good. And so that's what we'll see. You know, it's. It's split right now. It's 200 and 200, 200 nil and 200 pros. The problem with that is immediately I see a problem. 200 nil. And of my 200 pros, how many of them are rookies? How many of them are active players? Because if you give me 50 active players and 150 veterans, out of league veterans, and then you give me 200 nil, when I open that box, I'm always going to feel like I'm ripping someone that I don't know who it is. But if it's actually curated in a way that says, hey, this nil checklist is, let's say, 100 of the hot, you know, prospects that are potentially coming into the league this next year, and then some guys who are younger. The problem with college, though, is that, like, dude, I used to play Madden Dynasty with my friends, and like, we had 24 Madden. I think I was drafting Garrett Nussmeier with my 101 pick. Three years into that league at this time, that dude is on a backup on the Chiefs. It changes year to year so immensely in college that it's a lot harder, I would imagine, to grab those prospects who were in college, aside from the top five or six. Arch Manning, Jeremiah Smith, like those guys, it's really hard to find people that, you know are going to maintain or hold value going into the NFL. So it's kind of like throw a big wide net and see who you cast, which makes it harder to prospect because then you're like, I'm not buying this dude's card. Two years out from him being in the NFL when I could just wait until he's in the NFL and get his NFL card. I also think something that I've seen talked about, and I'm not a huge college collector, I follow college football a little bit, but not Zebra closely. The transfer portal also makes it really tough and that if you have a guy who in four years in college plays for three different teams, which uniform do you want him in? You know, there's, there is a level of, you know, if I, I'm a Michigan fan, I have a degree from Michigan. Go Blue. We don't want, we're not going to talk about Western Michigan. We're fine. J.J. mcCarthy played his entire season, you know, his college career at Michigan. Aiden Hutchinson. I've got a Zebra cool Aiden Hutchinson that I got on Arena Club. A blue scope from Prizm Nico Collins. Nico Collins, great Michigan player, played there. Michigan can claim him then. You have the guys that just, you know, move all around. Carson, Beck, you've got Georgia and Miami. You've got guys who just move around so much, Williams, too much, etc. That it just makes it harder from a collector standpoint, where do you invest? So I, I agree with you. I think, and I know that the answer here is, well, we have Bowman best. I think they should treat the checklist like Bowman best and have 100 NFL players and 100 college players. Bowman best. Generally, that's what it is. It's 100 MLB players and 100 of the best prospects in baseball. And that way, when I'm ripping Bowman best, for the most part, I'd say 80% of the guys, I say, Yu-Gi-Oh I know who that is. They might not be the number one or the number five prospect in there, but I say, okay, I have a level of familiarity with like, who they are. And that I think is how you hook guys. Not with a 200 college, 200 card nil checklist. So we'll see how it is, though. It's going to be interesting. It'll be fun. It'll be a cool rip because I, I'll get to learn a lot about college that I didn't know before. It will be turning the clock back a little bit for what I think my last topic of the day is. We talked about this a little bit on a previous episode. I have been doing a lot of buying on ebay recently, picking up, you know, we have seen the 90s market hype for baseball in basketball really explode. These fairly common inserts that are now Zebra Zebra expensive. I'll give an example of a few weeks ago. I bought some in fuegos at a select from like 1996 or something like that. I bought a lot of them, you know, Barry Bonds, Chipper Jones, etcetera I think the Barry bonds were $12 each when I bought them. They're doing $120 now. They have 10x in like six weeks. We have seen some of those cards really explode and I've been buying a lot of those. You know, I've been doing a lot of buying from DC Sports, et cetera. I don't feel like we've seen as much of that on the football side. Do you think that will, you know, we've seen Peyton's market bump up a little bit. Do you think that we'll see maybe some of those other guys from the 90s, early 2000s start to see a market bump? Will you see, you know, Drew Brees, ladinian Tomlinson, or like Barry Sanders, Eddie George, like those Topps of cards that are those more unique, cool 90s style inserts. Start to see that market bump. What do you think? I don't know, man. I'm. I'm a. What I, what I call, like the term is Hyper modern collector, which is like, not even modern. It's like Zebra Hyper modern. Like I care about what's happening right now, today. I'm mostly that in baseball too. I agree with you. I. There's an element of nostalgia that's associated in like, character with those cards. I think the biggest factor in the increase in that decade of cards, to me is us. It's. How alt art you? I am 32. I'm 31. About to be 32. Right. Born in the mid-90s. We're, we're of age now. We have families, we have kids. We. Some of us have real jobs. I do not. I have fake. I have a fake job where I break cards. But, you know, we're at a point, we both have fake jobs. We're at a point where, like, we're. Our impact on society has reached a point where we're holding the jobs that we used to work for. And I think as that changes, we see our parents start to give up some of those 80s and you know, late 80s, early 80s, late 70s stuff and like, what we care about and the players we grew up with or what are. What's going to be popular. I do think the Brady surge is just as much that as it is like his success. Right. It's because we all grew up hating him and watching him and also idolizing him in the season of Life when we're kids and we're. We're eating all that up as we're consuming it in the media. I don't know outside of, I think like, what those athletes do with their lives is important. I can't tell you what ladanian Tomilson's doing, dog. Where's he at? Does he have a. Does he have, like, a Genghis Grill company where they're making restaurants out in Miami? Like, I have no clue. I know what Tom Brady's doing because he has all these endeavors. But if they're in the media and they stay relevant to the collector, that's where I think you see the increase in that stuff. And now that Topps has the license, if they can somehow bring back some of the older brands of cards that we've lost to time, like, we're not making Upper Deck cards, you know, really for football anymore. So, like, that would bring that back. If they replicate some of those designs. This is my biggest issue with cards, is that they don't ever reuse the same design twice. It seems like if they were to. To play on that and Panini just did it with that unlicensed nostalgia, like, pop box they're in Targets. People love those people ate them up. I saw Facebook posts, dude, this is a sick card. Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh I pulled this. And these are all guys in their mid-30s to 40s who are chasing cards because they're fun and they're enjoyable. Keep the price point low. That stuff, I think, will continue to go up as time goes on because we're the ones who are reliving the moments with those players from that era. Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh it's. It's. I have been slowly buying a little bit of football stuff in that one. Buying for future card shop, hopefully one day, working slowly but surely towards that, but also just like, in making some of those plays. We talked about it last week, maybe two weeks ago on the podcast of, like, if you want to. The real opportunity to make money is not buying Caleb Williams when he is this peak hype level of, oh, my goodness, he's an MVP candidate. He's so good, it's buying him when nobody's talking about him, when everybody's like, oh, this dude stinks, or, oh, like, it's irrelevant, this card's irrelevant, etc. You need. If you really want that upside, you got to make the play. And so I've been making some plays and buying some cards that I put aside. And, you know, if the right opportunity and markets rise, then I'll list it. You know, I don't do much football wise, card wise in terms of live selling. I am a baseball card guy. My audience knows me for that. We'll start to do a little bit more multisport, especially once we have the shop, etc. But like, what I do mostly when I buy stuff like that is I just say, hey, I'm going to whip out the haystack one and I'm just going to list it on ebay. List it as a buy it now or list it as an auction, et cetera, where I can just quickly upload stuff. It doesn't take me a ton of work. I don't have to go live and I'm not having to rely on my live audience, which knows that I tend to lean baseball. But buying some of those cards, I feel like personally right now it's the opportunity to buy some of that stuff. And I don't want to go and say, you know, go spend a stupid amount of money on stuff. But like, if you can go get like, I just bought in. Granted, unfortunately, DC sent me the wrong card, but I bought a. I, I love D.C. and I don't like talking when hey, make mistakes happen and I'm sure they're gonna make it right, which is what matters. I bought a Calvin Johnson 2015 Prizm Blue SP, beautiful looking card. Like, that's the type of stuff that I'm like, I'm gonna buy that. And I have a feeling that, like that's the type of card that three years from now, today it's a $40 card. If you were to tell me in three years it's a hundred dollar card, 150 card, I wouldn't be shocked. Like, I saw him walking into Fanatics Fest. Calvin Johnson, he was walking right in front of me with his family, huge, wearing his primitive shirt. He has a dispensary company. But Yu-Gi-Oh I think to your point, buying things that you think are cool is also the other side of it. Like, you're never gonna lose sometimes. You're never going to lose. And that's the point. Like sometimes it doesn't matter if that Calvin Johnson blue card has a trajectory like up or down. It's like, I want that card and that's now my card. And so that's all that matters. If people bought like that more, the market would reflect it. But I think that that's what's, honestly, I think that's what's happening right now. I think that that's why you see, that's why you're seeing that stuff go up. People like, I just want that because there's not many of them made and it's an old card and I may never see it again. Like I Know that you're. That's so clean. Like Griffey Showstoppers. This is, it's 1994 Pinnacle. That card was nothing crazy. You probably could have found that in a three dollar bin a year or two ago. It's not a three dollar card now. Yu-Gi-Oh because. But what's happening. And I think that this is people saying, and my hope is that this is reflected both in terms of some of those older football sets inserts, etc, but also in terms of wide receivers, running backs, maybe some of the best defensive players of hey, this is a really cool card of a guy who was incredible at his position. You see Shaq, big men in basketball have never gotten the respect that they deserved it. Shaq's markets exploding because what do people say? Dude, Shaq was arguably the most dominant player to ever play. He's not the best, but he's arguably the most dominant to ever do it. And I want a piece of that. And I want to buy the cards that are cool. I think people are buying cool cards now and I think that doing that is what ultimately leads to the market rise. Shaq's also on everyone's TV every night. Like they're in the basketball. He's oh my God, they're around and they matter. Like they're still have an imprint to leave on people's lives. And that fuels that same nostalgic like purchasing power I think for, for anyone. Don't do this though. Don't. To Alex's point. Everybody listening. Yes, great time to buy players, but you still have to for players that are currently playing in the NFL, you should still buy players that are good. Don't do what I did and go buy a bunch of Will Levis Prizm Silvers because dude had a cannon of an arm and it was a great time to buy because I'm still not unconvinced that Will Levis is good. You're not unconvinced. He could have, you know, his reign. But the point on top of all of that is the players you're talking about in the inserts we're talking about are players that have already played. So there's really, when you buy cards like that, it's not like you're risking them falling off a cliff tomorrow unless the actual person or player becomes, you know, a bad case coverage or something like that, like in the news. So that's why I think when people go after those cards, you should, you're basically deciding like, do I want to spend the money on a card that I'm going To have that probably doesn't have a ton of change. If it does, how likely are you tell me that. How much did you said that $3 Griffey card? Like we. Are you gonna sell that card? Yu-Gi-Oh Yu-Gi-Oh But like to what tune? Like what's it worth now? I don't know. Let me look it up. I gotta, I buy so much. I don't mean to put you on the spot, but I mean to say, like there are still cards that I've bought and let's say I buy it at 10 bucks and it goes up to 30 bucks. I'm not selling the card because I bought it because I wanted the card. There are still people out there that buy cards that way. And not all cards that I buy or you buy are that mentality. But if you're buying some stuff with the mentality of I just want the card and then you buy some other stuff with the mentality of I wanted to flip it later, that's how you have a healthy portfolio. Like that's how you pay $43 for it. Jeez. But that's like. Yu-Gi-Oh And people will say that it's crazy, but you know what the market's going to market like it's the same Shoei Ohtani all aces card. It's a common insert. But guess what, it's a $300 card. So buy the things. The biggest takeaway I think there is, and this is the. One of the most common questions that I get is from new people that are discovering the hobby, finding my content, etc, is, you know, what card should I buy? Buy cards that you like, of players that you like at a price that you're comfortable with. And if you think that there's upside there, that's awesome and fantastic. But the reason why you do that is because if you buy that card and it doesn't work out, guess what? You have a cool card that you get to collect. You got a cool card. If you buy a card that you like at a price that you're comfortable with, you can't lose. You might not be able to flip it for a monetary value and gain long term. But at the end of the day, the hobby is about a lot more than money. And that's coming from somebody who, from two people who put food on their table by buying and selling cards. 100%. 100%. And I put, put that into practice too. I started, I'm into Star wars now. And I like I told you everybody, I only do football. I love Star Wars. I've seen it I've always been a fan. I just started getting into the cards and now I'm buying a bunch of Star wars just because I like it and it's connecting with me and it's hitting something in me that football didn't. But I would never would have understood, I think, what I liked about Star wars unless I would have started looking at cards and, like, asking people about it and, like engaging with other people to figure out what other people like, what you like. There's so much stuff out there, too. Breaking is a great window to, I think, generally to be able to see product that you maybe wouldn't have access to otherwise because it's not on a Walmart shelf or not in a Target. Yep.
